Every employee was lovely, ample bathrooms, ample bar space, very professional venue. Smallish, but laid out of very well. Has an outside patio for 21+ with small tables, bar inside the venue and in the waiting room/entry space. Stairs coming into the entry/waiting, then another set of doors before you get into the general admission spaces. Nice table areas on the side/accessible areas. Saw Chappell Roan here and it was a great concert!
Loved seeing The Red Clay Strays here! It was packed, but never a long wait at the bar (there were at least 3, 2 on the bigger side). Staff were amazing, super friendly and gave me suggestions for other things in the area.Justin Jeansonne and his band opened for them and they blew me away as well. They were also super fun, pic of shirtless guy was from end of show, someone bought his shirt off his back lol(it wasn’t a band shirt it was his own shirt lol).I stood near the middle for part of the show and then wanted to cool down so headed toward the back. You could stand anywhere and see/hear well. They also had a show going on downstairs, entrance was on other side of building. At least a couple bars right across the street to hang at too.
I’ve been attending The Intersection for about 10 years and have not been disappointed there yet. It’s mainly standing room only, unless you get a VIP table, or get there early enough to grab one of the few tables they have available. All of the performers, and cover bands have been top notch. Every cover I have seen surely sounds like the real deal, u can’t go wrong attending an even here!
We went to the LSDream show last night. I really want to love this venue, & I will definitely give it another shot. The show itself was loads of fun, but it seemed like it may have been oversold. It was sold out, but people were packed in so tight there wasn’t much room to dance.& there were two toilets that were overflowing at the beginning of the show.
Great prices. Great artists, we will be back!! Just a heads up though, parking close to the venue is about $20. There is a security checkpoint upon entry and pocket knifes are even taken away although they do give you the option of taking it back to your car. In the venue we went in, it was standing in front of the stage with 3 well stocked bars at each end. There are tables but they have to be reserved before the event to guarantee that you will get one. These were just helpful things that I wish I would’ve known before I went for the first time!
Ive been to ~75 shows and can only hope to never have to visit this stupid venue again. The website states theres first come, first serve seating, but upon arrival every single seat was reserved. I tried standing on a set of stairs leading to a small seating section but rudely got kicked out and walked out all the way to the floor because the small corner required a $450 payment to sit in the space, let alone stand on the stairs leading to it. Lmao! Kiss my a$$!The entire security staff was so insanely rude and werent handling the extremely drunk individuals ruining the show for everyone around them. Their only concern was protecting reserved spaces. The venue has NO air flow what so ever so it got so hot to the point of being sickening. The sound was so horrible that I could barely hear the vocals. The main bathrooms were closed immediately as the concert ended and Ive never been pushed out of a venue so quickly. Prior to the show, 2 lines were formed outside with no direction to help guests know which line is theirs. Not once did I feel comfortable.*Photo is from Avatar show on 9/15/23. View is slightly zoomed in from the very back of the venue*
Bowling for soup was amazing but this venue seriously needs to turn on the air conditioning or something, it was miserable, even the band kept joking/complaining about how hot it was. Ive been to concerts across the country and have never dealt with heat like that at a concert venue. I guess other than that its not bad
The handicapped seating policy has changed making it incredibly difficult to be able to attend these shows for someone who has difficulty standing for extended periods of time, and cant afford the absolutely EGREGIOUS amount of money charged for a table... The last show I was at, the amount of people who had to stand with a cane or wheelchairs that cant get see is disheartening. The venue is effectively no longer ADA friendly. They offer chairs up front if there is space but people buy-out all the tables so there is no space then..Overall, terrible experience for a venue that was great until this change.. will be reconsidering where I go for concerts whenever possible.
Ive been coming to this venue for nearly 20 years when my dad started bringing me out to some of my first concerts. Now into adulthood, this continues to be my favorite venue in Grand Rapids. They bring a variety of acts at affordable and reasonable prices. This really seems to be the venue of the people.
First time experience was great! Nice intimate atmosphere for artists on the comeup or veterans making their tour rounds. Elevation was a perfect venue for the fact you could be on the ground level or in the elevated sections surrounding it! Only gave it 4 stars due to not trying any drinks they had for sale and their prices.. Otherwise a great place to have a concert throughout the week 👌🏾
I LOVE The Intersection!! Its my absolute FAVORITE venue! Staff is always amazing. Reserving a table is my favorite way to go. Security is usually pretty good about keeping it VIP only but sometimes people try to sneak up there. This Saturday during Peekaboo the security guy Calvin was doing AMAZING at keeping it VIP only. He was friendly to us and stern to those trying get in. We pay good money for the tables so I appreciate when security keeps those who havent paid out from that area.
This was by far the most UNSAFE and worst concert experience at any venue as a handicap person!●I wasnt informed there was a giant hill that was the only way to access the handicap door, nor that I could have been dropped off at that door, avoiding the incredible climb.●We arrived early, but couldnt find a purple shirt staff to help.We were informed the only 2 handicap seats were already taken, but if I wanted to pay an additional $125 we could be on the platform. Our tickets were already over $100! That would be over $225 just to be out of the way and on a platform.●It was UNSAFE to be on the floor no matter where I was, unless I was back past merchandise outside the main showroom. Had a fire broken out, or a stamped, Im sure I would have died.● I was trampled at the show! Everyone was slamming into me. I wasnt safe on the sides, near sound board, or even by the bar near the bathrooms●I couldnt be safe, nor see anything. No concert experience, just sound. How is it fair that handicap people have to pay more to be safe, out of the way, and be able to see?Ive been going to the intersection for decades back when it was next to Muligans. Had I known how poorly they treat the disabled as an able bodied person, I would have never supported this business!⬆️ The above was sent to the Intersection, along with the email thread with their ADA specialist both before and after purchasing tickets (along with ticket #s) asking where to park, which sidewalks to take, etc.🍵 I demanded that they either remove their Accessibility symbols, or their plans to make improvements by a week from that date, giving their house manager to get a candid response from their attorney. No phone call. No explanation other than I should have been told could be picked up & dropped off to avoid hill. They did offer to buy me a ticket to an upcoming show, but that isnt my intention. My intention is to properly advise disabled people what they are TRULY in for. Why would I go back after this?BTW: I still do not know of ANY handicap parking onsite or streetside that their website claims. It must be where I parked my magical unicorn 🦄🤣
Show was great! But after paying for tickets they wanted $90 in order to sit at one of the tables! Ive never had to pay extra to sit down at a venue before! There was nowhere to sit if you didnt pay. A night out for a concert is already a splurge- dont have $90 extra for the luxury if sitting on metal stool.
Went to see Starset last night with The Word Alive. This venue is the definition of dont judge a book by its cover. This non descript brick building would be easy to pass by as you make your way through Grand Rapids. The atmosphere in here is great. The thing I was most happy about is how loud it is! Most venues today are nowhere near loud enough. Security is great and helpful. The stage setup is top notch as well. I will be returning here time and time again for future shows.
Always very easy to get in and out of, has some very intimate settings to be right up close to the bands. REALLLLYYY needs a better HVAC system to circulate air. Sauna+concert venue
Great venue!! I’ve been twice now and the staff treated me like family both times. Good drinks, good music friendly staff. What more could you want?
This is not my style of venue and theres much room for improvement when it comes to customer service. I live 3 hrs away and and had a few questions so I called several times over a time frame there is no option or way to speak with anyone. It was incredibly frustrating. The show was as good as it could of been given the venue. Great artist put on an amazing show. I wouldnt return here if I had ANY other options. My highlight is they have their venue open to all patrons regardless of their medical status. They have my respect for that.
Depending on what venue youre going to theres not really enough signs to tell you which side to go on. Thats the only thing I had to say negative about it. But other than that the layouts beautiful the staff is wonderful price of drinks are fair. The bathrooms were very clean. Very good atmosphere in Grand Rapids.
Fantastic, love the shows. Be first in line if you want a coat check, though. And if the show isnt big enough/not enough staff, they might not utilize it.Coat checks are important to me. Otherwise, five stars!
Went to Prof show, artist was great, venue was great, other humans, less so. Floor was a glue trap by the end of the show from idiots throwing half drank beers on the floor and crushing them. Same idiot ended up having a tantrum on the floor behind me. Like full out on that glue trap floor crying(he was 30ish). Not the venue/artists fault, but that detracts from my fun a little.
I have been described as socially awkward, so I may not be the most reliable reviewer for such a venue. I also dont drink if I plan on diving, so I cannot comment on bar staff or prices. Overall, about the same experience as youll get at 20 monroe, but the ticket prices are far cheaper. For the most part people left me alone, which is cool. I was out of place, but thats nothing new. Not really much to say otherwise, pretty active place.
This spot is so fun and unique. They offer multiple event sites, can do outdoor parties, and the options are amazing! Definitely worth the hype
We visited the stache at the intersection for the Liam St John show this past Wednesday. The gentleman working the door checking ids wasnt the friendliest but the other security staff were wonderful. The hostess that checked in our tickets was very friendly and helpful. The bartender was an absolute sweetheart. The sound was great and we had a blast at the show. Would definitely recommend and will return in the future
One of the best venues I have went to. The security team always makes sure that everyone is ok and safe. The sound and visuals are always amazing. Highly recommend. Sometimes for newcomers it can b hard to know where to lineup but the intersection has gotten really good at putting signs up day of show so people know.
Saw Royal Blood here on May 18th. Staff was VERY efficient, they were getting people through the line like crazy. They were very organized and professional. Sound quality here was awesome.
Great venue! Staff passed out water at barricade and each person was let into the venue one at a time. I would definitely visit again
Ive always loved The Intersection for shows!I took my 9 year old daughter to her first show last night and we had the most wonderful experience. The staff was exceptional and I am really grateful. Her first concert was a really great experience! Highly recommend
The place was great. It was in the smaller part of the venue. Very nice. Unfortunately, I had too much to drink and they asked me to leave. It was my fault, I was soooo wasted. The only problem I had was how they just let me go on the street with no concern for my safety.
It was great courteous staff that helped me out when I fainted due to being old and not being to a concert in 20 years. They could not have been nicer and more professional will for sure come back again.
They used to allow reentry but hardly ever do anymore. That sucks. But other than that, its pretty good. Staff is chill, smoking section, and not terribly expensive drinks.
I had a great time there seeing Yehme2 and Whipped Cream for the Bladez of Glory tour. I made a recap video on ig @cookievalentine and the venue was super nice and really clean. The door staff and the bartenders were great as well. The sound was ok, could have used a touch more bass and a little less treble but that could also be the setting on the tables. Ill be back for sure.
I attended The Mega 80s event held in the Elevation room. Seating is set up around and above the stage and dance floor making it easy to enjoy the band whether dancing or chilling at a table. They have a coat check for $5 which is great to keep your keys and jacket where you can easily find them. The drinks are a bit pricey but I guess that is to be expected at this sort of venue.
This is a great venue I recently went there for an upheaval aftershow on day 2 and saw P.O.D. there it was awesome. Great venue to go to for small concerts.
Handicap accessible!!!!! Not , my sister whos in a wheelchair couldnt even see any of the show because it was so packed and the handicap section was in the middle and she had to pay the same price as everyone else , it was a waste of money
Reasonable cost for drinks and tickets for concerts. A few different venues they have but all are great spaces.
Just took my 17 year Olds to see kai wachi. Was beyond excited hes one of my favorites. Dropped 150 on tickers got 5 ppl in. Bought a hundred dollar vip table. Spend 100 dollars on drinks for the night. Ooo and two hundred in merch . Merch guy days hey kai will come out at the end of the show and do pictures and sign autographs! Ooo bet!... show ends lights kick on and all you van hear is the bouncers screaming get out. Were closed. Wait by the rail for Kai. Grabbed and told I need to leave. Im like oo ok. Then I see the man himself coming out and I turn back around to get shoved and told no. But the mech guy said..bouncer proceeds to push me and tell me he doesnt care and I need to leave. So.e might think it was because I was drunk or rolling g. I only had 4 drinks spent a spent most of the money on water for my kids and wife. Highly disappointed with this.
Me and my friends got a table for Peekaboo and if you dont have a table youre not allowed in the vip area (obviously) but your security guard Calvin needs a raise. He was killing it all night monitoring the people who kept trying to sneak by without a wrist band. People would think they were sly and hed come outta nowhere like wristband?! Great dude and a good worker! He made me and my friends feel very safe.
Ive been coming here for years. Its an awesome place to see your favorite bands and it has cheaper beer then some other venues in the area
Ive seen quite a few great concerts here. Elevation is probably one of my favorite venues.
I come here all the time, good venue! Last night I was intoxicated and somehow I wandered into the VIP section on accident, security escorted me back out of that section but she was super chill about it!
Last night was an absolute blast. It was a o nice to get out and see a show again. All the bands were amazing. The only thing I would suggest is that whoever does the sound check, turn the mic up. The music was louder than the vocals. I know the singer was crushing it but I couldn’t really hear him. All in all though, the people that come here are awesome and so was the staff.
Went for Mega 80s. The way theyve revamped the Intersection to be more accessible for guests was a good move. Mega 80s show is awesome!
Good venue with friendly staff. Only problem I went to see and support act and they sound was barely loud enough to hear, when the headliner got on the music was much louder
I have been in The Intersection, The Stache and The Elevation parts of the venue and each one is very enjoyable, The Stache and Elevation rooms are smaller but they still have amazing sound.
Had a blast at The Intersection in Grand Rapids seeing the solid pink disco! Great venue, incredible vibes. 5 stars all the way!
I love The Intersection! It was a nice open venue which is grest for the mosh pit. The bar had decent drinks and they were quick to get people in the door. The bathrooms are easy to access and surprisingly clean despite the hundreds of people needing to use it throughout the night. I saw Dance Gavin Dance and althoughthe show was great I think they had too many people since I couldnt move my arms or anything by the end with how tightly packed together everyone was. Other than that I think it was a great night. (Not the best pictures but it was hard to get a good picture with all the people shoving.)
Never been to a venue that you show up on time and they still have half the crowd waiting in line...walk in and the opening act that we drove 5 hours to see was on their last song. Massive fail. Also as the main act started, it was the first time for our group of nine to be at a concert and be able to talk in the back (about 20 feet behind sound booth) without having to raise it our voice. My 16 year old who was at her fist concert was asking if its normal for the music to be this low.
I bought city morgue ti keys and they denied me at the door for “having alcohol” when I had a Gatorade and I had to leave, no refund no concert. The staff was rude and disrespectful. Worst venue experience I’ve ever had.
Great atmosphere, staff is friendly and helpful. Sound was excellent and bathrooms and exits were easy to access.
Saw Prof here. Venue was a lot of fun. Drinks were pricey but other than that had a blast.
Concert was great. Parking around the area was good, $20 but it could have been worse.
Noticed you have went down the drain again since wealthy street. No good bands, prices outrageous for local domestic bands who have no credibility. Maybe bring limp bizkit, icp, pop evil, moonshine bandits, jawga boyz, afroman, Tom macdonald, Dax, Adam Calhoun, Oliver, as a former promoter who failed I know my fails if I had the money and facility I would gamble on those bands. People want to spend money on bands that are known. I look at your list of bands and then 20 Monroes and they have 3 better bands then your whole list of shows. Sorry get better bands in. I cant spend more then 5.00 for a unknown starter group. 45.00 for Dax is great or 75.00 for pop evil.
This place is one of the best venues that Ive ever been to. There are 3 different areas of the intersection, The Stache, Elevation, and of course, the OG! Each venue is set up to play different genres of music for the most part. The atmosphere is great, and the bartenders are helpful and friendly. The place is incredible, Ive been there at least 50 times, and its always a perfect setting for the concerts ive been there for! 10/10 would recommend these venues to anyone for any concert!
Attended the Niko Moon concert tonight! The performance was amazing! Security was very accommodating to myself being handicap along with my family to make sure we all enjoyed the show best as possible! Were all very appreciative for their wonderful hospitality!
Great little place for a rock concert. It was my first time there and I had a blast !
When there are two shows going on, they need to let those in line know so you dont wait for 40 minutes in the wrong line. A bunch of people got in the venue and through security before being told we had to exit and walk around the other side for our show. Venue was otherwise cool and good service at the bars.
Saw Samantha Fish at elevation. Great show at a great venue. Not a bad seat in the house.
I have never had such an awful experience at a music venue. I’ve been to plenty of concerts, this is the only venue the security managed to ruin the entire concert for me. Upon entry, we were rudely addressed by security. There was no reason, we hadn’t even said a single word to them or done anything.Putting that aside, we went in to enjoy the concert. We saw Avery Anna on a Friday night. She was absolutely great to see perform; we sang along, danced, and had a great time during the concert, which is usually encouraged. While inside the venue, every single interaction with any staff member was awful, with the exception of one of the bartenders. They obviously hate their job and don’t want people to enjoy a concert they paid for. I was previously happy to support this small venue, but honestly don’t think I’ll be back after this.To top it all off, the concert ended pretty suddenly, there wasn’t really an indication that it was the “last song”. That was no problem, except we had just gotten a drink. There was a long line to meet the artist by the merchandise table, so we stood in the corner to finish our drinks for a few minutes. After the concert ended at 10:05, we were told rudely at 10:10 that we needed to finish our drinks and leave, even though pretty much everyone was still inside, standing in line. Even though they were rude, we politely told the security officer that we would, and continued to quickly finish our drinks. No joke, at 10:15, the security officer yells at us and says that we are loitering and that the venue is closed and basically throws us out, because we were not going to buy any merchandise. Meanwhile, the entire concert crowd is still inside, the only difference is that they are waiting in line. We were almost done with our drinks, but literally got kicked out because we did not plan on buying any merchandise, even though we had spent plenty of money on the tickets and during the concert. If a negative interaction might ruin your night, this is not the venue for you. If you like to dance and sing during a concert (reasonably), this is also apparently not the venue for you. Also, if you aren’t going to buy any merchandise after the concert, apparently you need to immediately leave. Again, I will not be back to this venue and will certainly never recommend it, solely due to the rude, power-tripping security staff.
Its an ok venue, decent size, however it is in need of a massive update. There is zero air flow, no fans of any kind!! It was unbearably hot, with zero air movement. The acoustics need some work too, sometimes it is hard to hear the vocals. Upgrade the speakers maybe? Dont think Ill be back to this venue, especially not in the summer or any day were temps are above 60.
It was my favorite venue when I was 18 and remains so at 32. Its a safe environment to have a lot of fun at. Its set up perfectly for rock concerts. Dont want to be in the pit? No worries! Stay by the railing and youll still have a clear view of the stage!
Went to see Wheeler Walker Jr. Was my first time going to The Intersection. I thought the place was great. Lots of tables on both side plus in the middle of the room. I dont drink so not sure about the pricing. Had many bars open. Would go again. Oh they have three sections theres the basement, front and back. My event was in the back. There was three events when I went. Confused about what line/ door to go but they had signs posted so very convenient. Only thing would be parking. They charge $15 to park in the lot closest other wise street parking or downtown parking lot which also there is a fee.
Just seen Chappell Roan here. Great place to house a concert, staff and crowd was awesome... would go back again
They need better ventilation. Every time I am there I see at least 3 people hyperventilating/pass out from heat
Place was packed to the gills .. and even for the first 2 performers we hung back in the rear and were still getting knocked around by people , not much to organization, we purchased 2 general admission tics @ $35ea + 2 skip the line tics extra $ , and the bottomless cup another cost of 15 or 20$ , all were purchased the same day and the same time, well no need for,1 the pre-ticket sales are a rip off joke ! There 10 at the door2 skip the line ?? Ha whats that we stood in line and out side as well as inside getting through all the checkpoints. And the bottomless cup,?? Ha ha thats a total joke , it came with the ticket sale for the event that was taking place whole reason I got it well , convenient for them and not me they cant find or authorize my purchase so I got to die of thirst cuz Im poor. And cant afford 9$ a drink!! By the time I got up front to watch the show people were rude not to mention stink stink stink!! I was bashed around , and the security guard were even assaulted and nothing was done !!So if your handicapped, or disabled like I am go somewhere else that offers safe seating for watching the show!!!
The sound was incredible and the size was perfect! Big enough to actually feel comfortable. LOVE the outside space attached as well to get some fresh air during bands setting up!
Always great entertainment fast service and good vibes!
Great acoustics make for great shows. Samantha Fish is awesome!
Really enjoyed this venue. Great sound. The staff were all super friendly. Lots of bars. It was a really cool place to see a concert. I would not hesitate to make the 3-1/2 hour drive again to see a concert here.
Is the intersection too broke to afford ac? This place should be considered a health hazard.
Overall I really enjoy it here. I love all the shows Ive been to. The only reason I cannot give this 5 stars is that you have to pay $80 for tables and theres no place else to sit otherwise. It would be nice if they had a small area where you could sit for a few minutes here and there because sometimes by the end of the night I feel like Im going to drop.
Great venue, not eardrum splitting loud and the ventilation is great. I’ve heard drinks are expensive though. Good place for a show
This place is absolutely by far the greatest place Ive been for a concert and what I mean by that is.....they went above and beyond for me and my son I wont be specific but they accommodated me and my son when we ran into a situation with seating, they definitely took care of us and we are beyond thankful! It was a silverstien concert and we are forever greatful!
This place was horrible!!! Security tried to start a fight with me and threw me out cuz I had a bag of weed on me I drive 3 hours for that…. avoid this place like the plague it’s horrible. It’s legal whether you like it or not and no I didn’t smoke in the venue either.. racist security !!! When I let them know they said yes I am. Don’t come here then !
Showed up for the first time on a Wednesday night. One of my new favorite artists were playing the first stop of their tour there. Iy was epic. Close quarters for a lot of people but the show was amazing and the staff was on point all night. Definitely will be back for more events.
Great time at the Jackson Dean concert! Great staff all the way around from entrance to the bar!
I believe capacity size should be lowered. Or room for more reserved seating added. The drink prices are reasonable. Staff was all friendly. We arrived early, only to lose our places by rude drunk people deliberately standing directly in front of us then literally pushing us out of our places. The rude people are by no means fault of the venue. It will be last event I attend unless I am able to get reserved seating.
10/10 staff.... went for the Chappell Roan concert and Mickey came to the rescue when my friend was about to pass out from her panic attack. Thank you Mickey!!
Always a great time no matter the venue! 🤩
The staff treat guests horribly, two separate employees on two different occasions went out of their way to be disrespectful and obnoxiously attempted to display their “authority” over myself for no good reason. The entitlement exhibited by the staff made the concert awkward… I did not have a good time because I felt like G.I. JOE was breathing down my neck, pushing the crowd out at his soonest opportunity, desperate for his shift to end. Disappointed, because this is my second negative experience at this venue and I purchased these tickets month ago out of excitement. I don’t ever intend on going back to this venue because I feel like the Secret Service is attempting to patrol the grounds. They better be paying these employees top dollar for the way they’re behaving like little deputies with diapers (especially the check-in lady- give this lady a laptop and she will act like she runs the joint).
Had an amazing time at a concert here! They have plenty of restrooms and room to have fun, great sound and amazing and nice staff. Parking near isnt bad either!
Went to see Doobie at the Stache last night. Had a great time for the most part, I feel like I stage could be a bit higher, it’s a bit hard to see from the floor. Young bouncer had a power trip moment, didn’t last very long thankfully.
One of my favorite music venues in Grand Rapids. Ive enjoyed shows in each of the multiple venues within the building- all having great sound systems and light set ups. The staff is friendly and helpful as well so it all makes for a really great experience!
First time at The Intersection. Pretty nice small concert venue; great sound and acoustics, strong drinks, and good staff. Brought my mostly non-mobile, 70 year old FIL here for Echoes of Pink Floyd and we were able to drop him off with his wheel chair (and my wife ;) right at the side door entrance. The door guys and security were very helpful and accommodating. Thank you so much for a very fun and hassle free night!
I was there for a sold out metal show, the door security did a great job getting people in and checking them for prohibited items quickly, the bathroom was honestly not as gross as youd expect for a night like that. The bartenders did a fantastic job with the insane amount of people there.
I just love this place. From my favorite bartender of all time (shout out to you, Mandy), to the countless shows I’ve been to in the last 15 years, to honestly some of the sweetest box office employees. Y’all really do take care of us. I just had to say thank you!
Interesting place. Bigger than I thought. Only thing I thought was dumb was the merchandise booth was on the one side and trying to leave venue the line was stopping people from leaving. The other was the exit and entrance was a bit small. Entering the venue was easy . Exciting was a bit of a wait. Then where I parked for The event omg. That was very terrible. Took almost 2 hours to get out. By that time the city workers came and just opened the exit so people could leave.
Every show Ive been too at this venue has been wonderful. The staff and bouncers and security are really nice, the bartenders are quick and polite/to the point. The elevation is a great addition to the venue. The shows are safe, friendly, and the crowd is supportive of persons with disabilities, allowing them room, space, and opportunity to view and hear the live music. I love this venue and will never stop going to it. Catch a show here! You wont regret it!
Just overall a great venue and I love the fact that bands that I like come to Grand Rapids and do shows there! And the fact that its only 5 miles from my house is super convenient! And they have close handicap parking! Also the staff there is very cool and very friendly!
Fast service, if you know where all the bars are inside the concert hall. Good sound. Great prices. Come early. Parking is by chance or an expensive lot after 7pm. Ive personally been lucky more often than not and parked pretty close on the street.
Great people working upfront and behind the curtain!! Huge variety of genre options.
I will NOT go back to this venue. Very disappointing. First, bad acoustics, real tinny sound. Second, NOT a family friendly show as advertised (Priscilla Block). Not sure if any show is family friendly considering most people drink way too much. I saw families leaving with their children after bad language by the artist. Third, the crowd was obnoxious. A fight almost broke out and security had to come and deal with the drunk, ignorant people. My wife got beer spilled on her and there was alcohol all over the floor which people were splashing up with their feet, getting all over my ankles. Gross. It was not a very relaxing environment to enjoy a show at all. If you don’t mind a lot of chaos, then this venue is for you. Otherwise, go somewhere else. Lastly, $17 tickets are $24.50 with a $7.50 service charge tacked on for “print at home tickets”.
Some of the best shows are seen here, up close and personal with great sound system and lighting!
Ive attended concerts at this venue three times and enjoyed it every time. The last one was The Read Southall band on the stache stage and it rocked. They have small and medium sized rooms and the atmosphere is excellent.
How can people not love this place? Best sound crew in town, and there are a few great ones. Security staff are always surly at best, so dont ask them any favors, really just avoid them altogether. Drinks...good selection for a concert venue, prices are a little sobering but not the worst. Main room is always the favorite but Elevation is a world class small/midsize venue and the Mint seems like the perfect spot for a radio event, exclusive party, or an acoustic record release.
My favorite venue. I will always go to concerts here when they have my favorite bands playing. They always go so hard and the staff is always amazing.Best small venue in MI in my opinion.
Came all the way from Toronto to specifically see the opening band. Showed up to the venue 20 mins before the show and there is a massive line still. Waited for an hour to get in and by the time we did the opener was playing their last song. Ive never been to a concert where theres a massive line outside when the show is supposed to start let alone start the show when tons of people arent even in yet. Extremely frustrating...
The venue was pretty decent. Guys working the doors where complete deuce bags. But most staff inside where cool.
Always a good time at the intersection for concerts! Small venue size makes anywhere you stand enjoyable! Drinks are expensive like any venue but also much more affordable than most other venues. $15 for a mixer & a beer
Great place. My favorite for live music
Very organized on letting people in. And the venue was very clean.
What an amazing experience seeing Priscilla Block here!! Great venue!!
Favorite local music venue. Always a great time, excellent vibes, never a dull moment.
Nice venue, 2 bars too.
Ive been to some awesome shows here! Cool venu.Crowd vibes and security can be wack. Hit or miss depending the show.Dont bring your purse in, they wouldnt even allow my xs fanny pack 🙄 clear bags only
They let someone die at a concert last night by not allowing CPR to be performed.
Fun venue. I saw Owl City here a couple weeks ago and had a good time. It was my first concert in this sort of smaller venue, it was fun.
Always a fun place for concerts. The overpriced drinks, sticky floors, and douchy security guards give you all the warm fuzzy nostalgia of bar hopping nights in your 20s. Super close to a ton of food options and even had a Food truck pull up outside midway thru the concert which made it all even better.
The music options are interesting, but affordable. Saw Noah Cyrus here. I wasnt in love with the setup, but Id go back for the pricing alone.
Th massive line outside made me miss the opening! how is that possible when the door open a 7 and got there at 7:45 show starting at 8? explaining that to me please? very disappointed in the poor management!
Went to a show and was made to walk my purse back to the car because it was not clear. My purse was a wallet with a strap so I could safely carry my cash and ID. Got into the venue after the walk back to my car and many woman were inside with purses that were not clear nor small. Whats good for one customer should be the same for all.
Mask requirements are strictly up to each Event performer. Check the intersection website for details. Seating is not only very limited, but, also only available if purchased in advance to reserve in your name or your groups name. I was told by members who reserved the entire seating area to the left of the stage, prices per 4-top table, were anywhere from $50-$200 and that didnt include the cost of the concert, drinks or perks. I may have been misinformed and welcome feedback from The Intersection so I can provide accurate data in this review. Aside from the seating, the doorman was pleasant and funny, the gal taking money at the door was smiling and polite, the next two guys scanning your ticket and stamping your hand were also courteous, unfortunately, the 2 girls behind the main bar were less than polite, courteous or pleasant. I would hope this was a one time bad night for them due to being understaffed or something. We all have bad days so theyre forgiven. Drinks were good size & domestic beer was $7/glass...no straws. Hmm why is that? Two shots of tequila and 2 glasses of imported beer $29.00. Tickets $15 in advance or $20 @ the door. Parking $5 at City of GR Flash Parking on Market St.
When we arrived we tried parking near the building as there are signs on one side that says parking is for intersection employees but opposite that, nothing. A security employee eventually came up to us and was quite rude telling us we need to move. It wasnt a big deal THAT we had to move it was how he was addressing it.Outside of that the venue was pretty nice and all the staff I interacted with for getting drinks and merchandise were very nice. Here come the Mummies was a great show as always and North 41 was really good too.
