Bacchus Waikiki

Visited there 3 different nights. One particular Sunday night they charged me $2 just because I asked for a taller glass. No extra liquor, Literally extra just for a tall glass. Just pay attention when you order.There are plenty of other fun bars who dont do bullsht like that.

A fun dive bar with carefully crafted cocktails. The mixologists are serious about getting you lit. Friendly and stylish. A great place to meet new friends while youre on the island. Not sure if they have a resident DJ, but thats definitely what this place is missing.

I had an awful experience at this bar. Despite arriving early, we were completely ignored while people who came after us were promptly served. The place had a terrible smell, which made the wait even more unbearable.To make matters worse, when my friend showed his valid California Real ID, the staff claimed it was fake and even threatened to cut it up. This would have left him stranded without a way to get back home. The music overall was not the vibe, creating a bipolar atmosphere that was all over the place. The patrons there were rude and very hostile. This is not the type of club I would be going to ever again if its going to have this type of vibe. The lack of professionalism and basic respect was shocking. We will never be coming back and advise others to avoid this place at all costs.

Excellent drinks! I cant remember the name of the first two bartenders who helped us on our first night coming here. But the crowd was super friendly and the bacon flatbread pizzas are amazing. Would definitely come here again. 🍕🍹😋🤘

A very fun atmosphere here at Bacchus Waikiki! The location is tucked away on the 2nd floor of the building and has a dope outside deck with neon lights lighting it up. Inside is decorated and has Reddish neon glow throughout the bar. Drinks are unique here and staff really friendly. #cocktails #restaurant #hawaii #beach #honolulu

We stopped here at least 5 or 6 times during our stay. It wasnt overly crowded besides bingo night. Strong drinks. Good service. We are also minimal as far as PDA because its a crazy world we live in, so its relieving to be able to go in and let loose without fear of retaliation. Also, Josh was awesome, give him a raise (and not just because he was cute) 😂

This is such a fun gay bar. Great bartenders that are also cute. Wonderful outdoor patio to enjoy a drink in the warm ocean breeze. This place is a gem and we went every night we were visiting. I wish we had a bacchus in Portland but alas, I’ll have to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere when I go back. They have pizza too!

Bought one Stella draft for $8 with a $1 tip & was charges over $16?!??Bartenders are not honest & would be weary of giving them a card…

Bad service. Manager was rude and inconsistent with customers. Bartender ignored my group and served others first. We had been there before and the only problems we had was when the manager was on shift.

Nice little place and the bartender is friendly. But all they have in terms of food is cheese or pepperoni pizza. The menu listed on Google must be completely out of date. Nice place, just don’t come here expecting dinner.

The lesbian working at the door told me that its not a gay bat and that they were closed. While other guys trolled from behind her. Please avoid this place

Added an extra $3.61 to my charge card tab of two beers and a $4 tip. When I confronted them about it they refunded the difference in cash, and then the next day added $6 to the charge. Never going back.

Such a fun bar! Great place to have cheap drinks and meet friendly people. And not musical bingo was so fun and created a very nice and welcoming environment. I wasn’t very good at the music categories but they change each hour so it was still a lot of fun. It definitely gets crowded there after 7 during bingo so good to get there early to get a spot!

Nothing bad to say about this place . as a devout disiple of Lord Bacchus, i think hed be a little disapointed by the lack of delicous debauchery.STIFF DRINKS ! at great prices . not the place to get your blended drinks or quality cocktails.saucy cute staff !.no dance floor really and it is rather small . as a queer presenting femme i was very much in the minority - gay boys club .

Scratch gay bar with great bartenders, good music and quaint atmosphere. Outside and inside seating with good specials like BOGO and $4 drink nights.

Someone groped one of my straight friends and the bartender and manager did nothing, even after reporting the incident.

Had the best night here. Crowd friendly and even one of the bar staff who looked a spit image of Heston the famous chef. Met a first officer there called Forrest. Still waiting!

Enjoyed the experience having some beers with my partner. Bartenders very friendly, the place is clean and have plenty tv screens with video music all around which makes it more entertaining. Have a smoking area for those who into it. Didn’t see any food menu, heard they have some small pupus before the pandemic. The area can be very difficult for parking spots we ended up finding a parking space like 4 blocks away but in general is a very safe area to walk mostly of the time.

Cozy, 2nd floor bar with great local feel. Super convenient location. Clean and inviting, a sure place to meet new friends or meet up with old ones. Staff is welcoming and professional.Small lanai in front allows for smokers to indulge.Bathroom is shared with Thai restaurant next door, (on same floor) is a glass door to corridor between the two.Has elevator to assist anyone in a wheelchair.

Its really fun to visit during Trivia night! The place gets packed and is very lively. Other nights its variable traffic but drinks are solid and well priced. Nice bartenders and chill vibe.

This place was the best gay bar we visited so far living here. We went on Tuesday and all draft beers were 3 dollars! Hard to beat considering most places serve beers for 6 or 7 dollars a piece! Air conditioning was on which is another plus. Number 1 was the server was super friendly and cute which is always a number 1 :)Please give me a like!

Not many Gay bars here, so this is as good as it gets. It is chill. Nothing to brag about. I bought one drink and left. The crowd was very standoffish.

Amazing experience, coming back tomorrow. I didn’t expect much food wise, but our kalua pork nachos hit the spot. Incredible, friendly service and comfortable environment. Our favorite part had to be the throwback music videos. I’m sure I added 15+ new songs to my library.

Been a regular here for many years. Its a nice neighborhood LGBTQIA+ bar that all are welcome. It is lowkey, comfortable, clean and the staff are all fantastic.No matter what your drink is, they pretty much got it or can make it for the most part unless you got something ultra fancy or unique. Decent section of beer and wine. They also have really good small pizzas that are big enough to share between 2 to 3 depending how hungry you are.Afternoons are my favorite time there, but they have a hustling night scene with different activities almost nightly. It isnt large, but they have a nice bar area, table tops, edge seating and an outside lanai area. Most of the regulars all have their favorite corners, but there is plenty of room for all.

We went there on our last night in Hawaii. The bartender treated us very well and even bought us a drink. The drinks are good and strong and everyone seemed nice. I would definitely visit this place again. They had some cute guys there as well which is always nice. I was hoping the cute waiter from the restaurant next door would be there, but no such luck.

Its definitely one of the most friendliest gay places that Ive been in Waikiki bartenders were nice and didnt skimp on the drinks .

The worst bar ever. The bartenders are great, but the managers and bar owners are rude and terrible people.

We were excited to revisit this bar after a great experience a couple of years ago. Never in my life have I been so rudely greeted and turned away at the door as last night. We understand that bars get full with current capacity restrictions, but the guy at the top of the stairs didn’t even make eye contact with us and said “There’s no room for you. Wait at the bottom of the stairs; it might be like 30 minutes but I really don’t know.” Uncalled for and absolutely kills the vibe of this place. We wouldn’t have minded waiting if we weren’t so rudely turned away. I saw another review a couple of months ago where this happened and the owner said this issue would be addressed. It obviously wasn’t and this rude employee is still continuing to treat patrons this way. We planned to come here several times during our trip but won’t be returning after this bad experience.

The host was very rude to us. There are nice ways of saying, There isnt room for you here, youre gonna have to wait outside, such as, we currently, cannot seat your party. May I offer you a place in line and would you please wait outside until we come grab you, because we are at max capacity; he couldnt even make eye contact with me while speaking. I would not say this is an inviting or welcoming environment.

Saw the menu said they had lemon bars and I’ve been looking for a good one for like six months when I got there they didn’t have them in there lol but I stayed for a drink and was very pleased with the guys behind the bar definitely goin back for the drinks lol

Overall great experience every single time me and my friends go. Service is top notch, drinks are reasonably priced and REALLY TASTY and strong. Music is always great and danceable. Special thanks to Malcolm, Luke and Chris for the stellar service provided every single time!!!! Mahalo :)

As a straight dude this place is good. Everyone was friendly and the prices are great. I didnt know it was a gay bar but it was pretty obvious once I was there. Honestly, I would recommend this place regardless of orientation. Great prices, friendly patrons, and attentive staff. 5 out of 5 would go back again.

We ordered food to go. We had chicken salad sliders, nachos, and the Mac and cheese. The price for portion was amazing. We all felt satisfied and I personally felt excited to go again and try more things.

My husband and I traveled to Waikiki in August for our wedding. We had our buck night at Bacchus bar. The staff and the owner (sorry forgot his name) were so accommodating, friendly and helpful. Cant thank them enough to make it such a memorable night. It was a night to remember. Great priced drinks and, friendly staff.

It’s a small but cute bar. There are only three around and this one is in the middle. Not great for large groups but if you’re just going with a few peeps, it’s roomy enough for that. There is no food, so just fyi. I’ll amend this by saying depending on how late you go, they may not have food all night.

Very nice service! Cold beer. Great variety of music. You can bring food in. Prices are very good. I like the atmosphere. People were very nice. Unusual for Honolulu, I have found.

Having never stepped door in this bar, I decided to stop in after a few friends asked for a suggestion for a Tuesday night party location to chill with a gay friendly atmosphere. This place has a unique charm all its own. Peaceful booths to relax after a long day, drinks are pretty reasonably priced and the wine cellar room is a must see.The Good: Bartenders are very knowledgable on local drinks and trust me they keep them flowing. Bar is dimly lit and can offer anyone looking for a space to unwind away from the hectics of Waikiki will find refuge inside this bar. Bathroom is clean and well lit.The Bad: Such a small place with only one entrance could deter those with a desire for easily escaping that creepy guy or gal you want to get away from.Things To Try: Bartenders have a vast knowledge of the local drinks, but try The French 75, The Mind Eraser and the Bellini. Congratulations to John & Mark (hosts proprietors) for a world class Venue. my visit was between February 8th to 15th 2013. from the moment I arrived at the bar I was welcomed, and I felt completely comfortable. The customer service is outstanding at this venue. Food was available & beverage menus outstanding(everything you can wish for) Bar Staff were so FRIENDLY,PROFESSIONAL, & very knowlegable. I wish to name the Bartender (Hunter) His service skills were Exceptional!. also their sister venue IN-Between was at the same standard. The patrons were also very nice. Thank You everyone you made my holiday so special. I definitely would recommend this venue you will have the best time there. See you all next year

Best experience i’ve ever had at a bar, came here with my wife, Joey J. was an excellent server and gave us great drinks (especially considering what we wanted to drink was pretty vague) couldn’t recommend this place more :D

Great spot to wet your whistle any time when in Waikiki. Josh, Robson, and Brad make you feel like family immediately. This place is the real life cheers. Cant go wrong comming here.

Very laid back with decent drinks. Very affordable which is a plus. Small space though and not much of a dance place. Just to hang out with friends and chat.

Everything was perfectly fine until an owner, David, got behind the bar & flamed up an e-cigarette which is illegal in Hawaii. When confronted with his violation of the law, he took my drink away, refunded me $5 of my $6 cocktail & kicked me out saying I had too much to drink. I asked him for water & he still kicked me out. I called 911 & reported to police as it is illegal to use an e-cigarette in a bar in Hawaii.

Had such an amazing time there. The bartenders are all very kind. The atmosphere was pretty off the hook. I would recommend to anyone to visit this amazing spot of paradise!

Crazy how they don’t check if Vaccination cards are real but people with 24h Covid test get shamed for not being vaccinated “oh, you are not vaccinated? You can’t come in, bye”.Some people have health reasons that they cannot get vaccinated but still doing everything they can to protect people around and themself 24h our Covid test should be valid.In fact there were at least 5 fake CDC vaccination cards, security barely looked at it!

Because it was near my hotel i gravitated here often as the evening wore on and i met many other travelers, both American, European and Pacific rim. It made my holiday all the more fun.

We had read a good review about the dancing at Bacchus, but upon showing up the staff was rude and there wasnt much dancing inside. The age range seemed to be from late twenties to early fifties.

Cheap local beers on tap (~$6-7 pints) and great pop bangers always playing.

A bar where you wont likely meet any Japanese people. There is a high percentage of men in the store. At $27 for 4 drinks, its very reasonable.
