I have lived in Lakewood for 25 years and I admit this is the 1st time Ive ever been in the Mars bar. I would have to say that its definitely cuter on the outside then the inside. Im not a person who tends to go to bars, but I had heard they had really good burgers. The burger WAS one of the absolutely best cooked burgers in ALL of Cleveland. It actually came out pink in the middle and hot!!!!! The fries were actually crispy!!!

Grabbed some late night dindin from 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐒 𝐁𝐀𝐑 on a Tuesday night. Fast service, chill vibe. I ordered sweet buffalo wings 🍗, truffle fries and garlic parmesan wings as well. Everything was hot and delicious. I think I found my new Lakewood lunch spot!

I will have to come again to see if my food could get better. We went on a busy friday night and the waitress told us that our food would come out late. This was my first time here so I was willing to wait for the food. An hour later we get our food. I ordered the Jupiter burger and fries. Both the burger and the fries came out cold. My girlfriend ordered kebabs and they came out very bland. After waiting an hour we were very disappointed in the food. But like I said I think I need to give the benefit of the doubt and give a second try as they were very busy.

Love the diverse menu. With dietary restrictions, I feel like I’m not limited to only one thing. Rosemary garlic fries are my absolute favorite. Vibes are pretty good - more chill during the week, but it gets busy weekends and drinking holidays. Kitchen open late. Decent drink selection as well.

Heard this place had some of the best gyros in the area and had to check it out for myself.Without a doubt, I can confirm the rumor is true…if your ever in the Lakewood area make sure to check out this gem and go with the original George gyro and spice things up with some of their signature fries—I did the garlic parmesan and my partner got the rosemary truffle and both were out of this world delicious!One thing I will say is this gyro is SAUCY make sure to ask for extra napkins in advance.

I used to really enjoy Mars Bars, but the last few times have been unenjoyable experiences. The service has been incredibly slow (which I recognize as them potentially not having enough staff), but the service has also been relatively rude. We ordered corona on draft and they arrived extremely flat. When we pointed this out to server, we were told its because the keg was almost empty and were not offered any new drinks. The general vibe from the servers is that they are annoyed we are there.We had to wait about 10 mins to get a table and then our server stopped showing up about halfway through the meal.This last time we went, it took over an hour to receive our food (and they were out of several of the items we tried to order). Then half of our party ended up with really upset stomachs for the next couple days.I hate to make a negative review, and I am sad to lose a staple part of my eating out rotation.

Ordered the Fevi Fries !! 🍟😳🩷The quantity is MASSIVE! I would say definitely enough for two people with big appetites! But it was so good! My first time there and the staff were great and patrons were too!!

The CO2 was not calibrated or working at all tonight for the soft drinks. Slow service. Tried to order the crab dip but they were out. The waitress was nice but not very good!

I come for the gyros and am extremely happy with the new kitchen and menu. The place still retains the same old Cleveland dive bar feel with a massive overhaul renovation. If you’re checking out lakewood for the first time, Mars Bar has to be on the list.

I hadnt been here since the restaurant addition. The menu is great bar/Greek fusion. We have a big family so we were all able to sample a good cross section of the food. Presentation was great. Gyros were on point, and the tzatzkiki sauce and lemon yogurt were fresh and homemade. Even the kids meals, which are usually an afterthought at most restaurants, was really good. The pita pizza was great and the chicken tenders were fresh and cooked well. Service was good too, everyone was friendly and upbeat. The decor is clean and modern and the owner even stopped by to chat.

Food was fresh and delicious. The beet salad was fantastic! Emily our server was very helpful and friendly too!

Decently large menu and beer selection, but they serve food late. If you need late night eats not from a gas station its hands down the best option in the area.

The Mars Bar is a place in Lakewood worth visiting. Both food and beverages are tasty, reasonably priced and generously portioned. Currently doing minor remodeling (thanks for replying to our original post G). It’s a typical bar with better appointments than most. And if you find a black hat with #3 on it, spirits are present.

First time stopping here and was a nice time. Gyro was yummy, and sister in laws salad she said was delish. Nice portions. Drinks well made.

Hot crispy wings, sauce to make them tasty.Loved the K salad. Our children introduced us to this place. We will most likely visit again.

Stopped in for a quick lunch and just grabbed some chicken strips and fries. Both were very good and portions were big for both. Which is nice seeing as it feels like everywhere you go nowadays is more $$ for less food than previously. Will def stop again when Im working in the area

If you dont sit at the bar dont expect to get served any time soon.Food is good. Beer selection is okay. Bar tenders are friendly. No music, just sports reruns. Would not recommend unless you sit at the bar and you like non current sports events.

I love the Mars theme in here. The food was delicious. Our server/ bartender was nice. I definitely recommend this place.

While the food is usually good, this applies only for dining in.Doing takeout, the quality is meh and accuracy is a guessing game.Do. NOT. Do. Takeout! Its not worth it. Just eat in, youll be happier.

This place is a lot of fun. The place optimizes that fun loving, goofy, weird friend we all have. The theme and creativity is super awesome, the staff was very friendly, and after a late night of music its a perfect place to eat. The beef skewer and chicken skewer were phenomenal and I hot the Mercury Burger. Its an experience and I definitely enjoyed it.

Service and atmosphere was good. The food was okay. If it was a bit less salty, I think it would have been better.

Love this place! Never had a bad time. They work to make you happy and it shows! Come here multiple times a month and am always greeted with friendliness. Come here if you can!

Amazing gyro mezze platter and fevi fries. Very good portion sizes and solid flavors.

Some co workers and I stopped in for lunch on Saturday at 12We werent greeted for the first 15 minutes and after receiving drinks and a menu we were ignored until we left about a half hour went by. The bartender was the absolute worst and the worst service Ive ever had.

I’ve tried a lot on their menu, and it’s probably one of the best bar menu’s out there. I will keep coming back!!!!

I walked in and I immediately felt at home. It was warm, welcoming, and out of this world! The wait staff and bartenders were both super helpful while sitting at the bar. I was very impressed and excited to see that they had Rosemary Truffle fries. They were so delicious, they coulda had more truffle flavor, but the fries were so crispy and delicious!! I also tried one of each of the kebabs and I love all 3. I couldnt even decide which one was better between steak, chicken, or vegetable! The beer I drank was all poured from the tap and I drink only IPAs. Every one I tasted was absolutely perfect! Cold, crisp and refreshing; the way they should taste. I am Super thankful to have been invited to this gem with my closest friends; we enjoyed a wonderful evening! Thanks, Mars Bar & Café!

The atmosphere is so cultured but not overbearing, with the exception of the girl at the bar behind us yelling at kyle in a nasally voice. food was pretty good, only got one dish tho. service was extremely fast and our server was so nice. look forward to coming again without the fiasco from drunk courtney, or whatever her name is -Evan

I don’t usually do this but this a review for a good friend, he rarely complains.. has a great attitude 95% of the time the other 5% is when things like this happens… you don’t want to see this 5%Said Food was great great great usually but service always SUCKS they got two orders of grilled tenders and USA fries.4 people sitting at the bar.They ordered at 8:37. Made a quick pitstop to see what the neighborhood bar was like. Good service. Good pours. Good fries. Layout of the place is a bit awkward but not a detrime.t.

Usually I avoid bars and dining out. Went to this place and area to meet some friends I dont see too often. Friendly owner, staff and locals. The food and wine we had was amazing. Parking lot right across the street on the other side of Madison Avenue.

Great place. Food was very good. They make a great gyro. Staff was really nice. They informed us that food didnt start till 1130 on Sunday. That was really good to know at the get go. The deco is really neat. Stained glass windows nested in among the space them.

The food was delicious good environment good prices good service but server brought our appetizer over and the bread slipped off the plate to the table as he was placing in front of us and he touched all the bread and put it back on the plate. He did not offer to get new bread only said that would come back.

When the good cook is in you can get one of the best best burgers around!!! When hes not your burger is probably not going to be properly temped. Not letting it effect the review. Because when its good, its GOOD! One of the best burgers ever. George definitely knows what he is doing in that department! Brittany was a wonderful bartender! Great service!

First time there, and someone tried to pick a fight with me.I was going on a second date with a girl, and since we are both new to the area, we decided to check out Lakewood. Our first experience was nice so we went back for a good meeting place for the both of us. This time, we decided to check out the Mars Bar. Horrible decision.When we arrived, we told them we hadnt been there before and asked if we needed to be seated. The bartender told us to sit wherever, and they would be with us. After waiting ten minutes in our decided seats to get a menu and drinks, we needed to go back to the bar and order. We had realized this was a regular bar at this point and didnt mind, but we still took a while to get the drinks.Food was good bar food and reasonably priced, and came out quickly.Upon payings our tabs we return to the bar and a regular (I could assume this by the way the patrons and bartenders addressed him) began to hurl insults at me and my date until our bill was paid and followed us onto the back patio while we finished our drinks to mean mug me. I had not spoken to this man or anyone else in the bar until this point.I would recommend staying away from this place.

Food was ice cold and took a hour.Waitress was awful and so was the bartender. Rude and dismissive.It was 60 degrees at best in the dining room on a day that was 55 degreesBathrooms were atrocious and looked to have mouse fecal mater on the floor.Stay far away ! Many better places in Lakewood

I live in the area so I come VERY often, they serve alcohol and food till 230, the food menu is large and Ive had several items. Every time I come in the bartenders are welcoming and friendly , even the owner comes to acknowledge and speak to customers. The food is delicious!!! Ive had burgers , gyros, salads, pizza pita appetizers and the list can go on. EVERYTHING IS GOOD!!! I dont know who they have cooking in the kitchen but you sir are the man!!! Dont hesitate to stop her and get a beer as well, they always have several variety beers on tap and I mist say the bartenders staff give the best suggestions!

Great place to chill and catch an awesome bite. If you have never tried the steak kabobs please by all mines give them a try you wont regret 😉 especially with the garlic parm fries 😋 the owner is awesome with just a great service as his employees....

Dive bar with what looks like a Cafe during the day. The place is beat up and there is stuff pushed into corner that needs cleaned (broken chairs, etc.). Our bartender was great, she was super nice and made good drinks. Average score for an average spot.

One of the best late night food spots in town. Come here regularly. Mezze platter is a great shareable. But, the burgers are the real star of the show here. Surprisingly, as this is a Greek spot.

Second time here. Ate outside 1st time. That was ok. Sitting inside, oppressive heat in the older section. That is 2x been here in 2 months and the kitchen doesnt open on time.Major greek vibe on the menu, which we dont understand, its a bar with food💁‍♀️The salad was good on 1st attempt. This time got burgers, Cali and French. The buns were soaked in oil,and both burgers were well done, although informed would be mid rare by menu and waitress. Why 5 different french fries? How about do basic and get that right first? Fries are supposed compliment the meal, not be a meal.Our bartender, server was amazing!!! Erin was honest about the kitchen not opening on time, which we came for the food, so yall failed. Seems like yer trying to be a restaurant, but yer still just a bar. Watched a mom and kid walk in, and walk out because the kitchen wasnt open yet. $$ going elsewhere.I live 2 blocks away and always support small business. Make it better during the day and we will be back. 👍💁‍♀️

Mars seriously has some of the best gyro sandwich/platters that we’ve had around CLE. The service is always good and the patio is great. When we want to sit down for a gyro this is our number one pick hands down.

This has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Lakewood! The food here is incredible. French burger is honestly one of the best I’ve ever had and the gyros are insanely good. Plus, they serve food until 2 am 😋

Neat bar and restaurant, walked past a few times and decided to give it a try. The Mara dust dry rubbed wings were excellent and the burger is the best I hav head in Lakewood and that’s saying something in an area where we are spoiled for dining choice. Will be back for sure.

Only visited once but I liked it. People were friendly and the atmosphere was good. I had a gyro with fries, the food had good portions but I wouldnt recommend the gyro only because its not not the chunks of meat rather the thin sliced strips and in not fond of that gyro meat. Id go again when Im in the area but will try a different food item.

I was there 7/30/2023. Must have went during shift change. 7-8pm. Weird time for shift change. 1st server took forever to get menus and then our drinks ordered. Finally took food order (ordered an app, 2 kabobs, and a grilled cheese). Food took about an hour and a new server brought the Kabobs.. Then another 20 minutes go by and the person I was with (separate checks) was delivered their burger and appetizer. Thought it was odd both orders didnt come out at the same time, but thought oh well separate checks/tickets. Then, server disappeared again for a long time, almost until the person I was with was done eating and then she appeared again. So I ask where the rest of my order was. She didnt take the order and had no idea. My meal never came. 1st server must have only entered the kabobs into the POS terminal. IDK, but I will never go back... Was excited to try the food and my meal never came... I went hungry all night because I had somewhere to be and didnt have time to reorder, wait another hour for food to be delivered..I understand it might have been busy, but not once did anyone say we are busy, will be a moment or longer than usual. Was rudely told to sit anywhere wed like and 1st server didnt say anything about shift being over and just went MIA.Whole experience sucked. Ill never go again because first impressions are everything and this was ridiculous... How TF you not enter in the rest of the order tho... I even watched her write it down...Dont go at busy times or at all I guess if you are wanting to eat, as you may end up never receiving the order....

Best burger Ive had since moving to Cleveland. I got the mushroom and swiss burger with a side salad. I was absolutely not disappointed. Patty was season and cooked perfectly. Nice leafy greens and house dressing was yummy. Will be visiting again. I love it.

Was gonna get food, changed my mind (time), the menu looked great. The staff was very friendly (beautiful bartender), and the drinks were pretty good.

I absolutely love this bar and their food is incredible, best in Lakewood imo, but they have a crazy fly/gnat problem here. Really need to do a deep clean behind the bar or something it’s wild

I should be apologizing for not having written a review sooner with how often i have ordered the gyro platter recently. Family friendly. My girls love it. Forget the Engine and Barrio (no offense to them either, but hey) if you want great food and atmosphere at a reasonable price in Lakewood, Go to the new and improved Mars Bar! So glad this place is in the neighborhood.

Friendly bartender and waitstaff. It is very dive bar elegant. The food was Greek and top notch. I will be going here to eat often. Maybe next time I go I will try out the drink menu.Update: Tried the hell out of the drink menu, and had more of the food. French Burger is amazing, the Mezzo Platter is super awesome. Our first time there and we will go back. Inside outside dining, its a great place to go for a night out with friends and or date night. Food was good, recommend the rosemary truffle fries.

Love Mars Bar!!! Great atmosphere, prices, and food. Their vegan food is so good. Patio is nice and dog friendly. Always good service. Once when they were out of the veggie kabobs, the owner himself went back into the kitchen to prepare something special for me since I am vegan. I cant say enough great things about Mars Bar :)

Me and my friends had a great time! Our Waitress was solid, she cheered me up, got all of our orders perfect, and exceeded my expectations! I loved the Theme and the atmosphere of this place, and the food is actually great. Happy staff, great tasting drinks!

I came into town from NYC to visit family, and visited at my aunts suggestion. The food is AMAZING. The ravioli and the Mercury burgers were stand-outs in particular but there wasnt anything we had that wasnt really good. I am thrilled to have experienced this gem of a place. I will definitely come back here next time I am in town. If you are thinking about coming here to eat - do it!

Cute bar. Expanding. Great menu, great people. Good corner spot in the heart of lakewood

Despite 3 different people telling us they would be with us in a minute, we had to wait for a solid 10 minutes or more to get seated at one of the half dozen empty tables. Ended up ordering at the bar. Food was prepared quickly. Panini sandwiches could use some lettuce & tomato or slaw. My beer smelled like it came out of a tap that hadnt been cleaned in ages.Well come back some other time to give it a second chance.

Nice atmosphere and a great new addition has been added! The food was good, and we enjoyed it. Everyone raves about the gyro but I think with all that buzz I was expecting more, but the spit gyro was good. The hummus is a bit pricier than we expected for such a small 4oz portion but then again when you make it at home and know the actual cost that sometimes happens. I would definitely return for the nice new addition and to hang out with my friends! Made me feel like I was on PIB with the great outdoors feeling!

Had high hopes but the service was just not great.Our order was noticeably forgotten about, and when we received it after a considerable wait the egg on my friends chicken sandwich was undercooked and my other friends burger was dry. It felt like our server was newer for not giving much explanation on why the wait had been so long, which is completely understandable, but after eating we all felt sick. My confidence in the chicken being cooked to a safe temperature was lowered after seeing that egg, burger, and for how tough my pita was.Beyond that the crab dip is fantastic, I wish the dip came with more pita chips, and I wish I didn’t feel like a nuisance for asking my server for some more. I’ll most likely give this place another chance some time because the menu has so many interesting options and the drinks seem good, but I was unfortunately not impressed by this visit.

It was great had the French Burger and spicy ravioli wich is pan fried they underwent a recent expansion and its very nice and comfortable even though I sat outside on the patio because the weather will be turning soon and I wanted to enjoy the night. They have some interesting items on the menu that I want to bring back some friends next time so we could try and share a few things. I live in the neighborhood and we have a growing number of great places I hope for a long term success with the Mars Bars expansion still really good

I have been here many times and the food and service was excellent but, I always sat at the bar. The other day I brought my boy into this place and we sat at a table. The service was like night and day compared to what I was used to. The food was still good but it took a while to get the order in and it also took a while to get refills, silverware and even napkins. It was really embarrassing because, here I had talked up this place on how great it was and my boys first impression of this place is how this is one of the worst restaurants hes ever been to.

Super cute divey bar/restaurant. Ive been told they recently expanded it and its awesome. The food menu is mostly Greek influence with a few americanized staples. DeeDee was our server and she was super quick, nice, funny and accommodating. Plus she was tending bar and serving. The food came fast, everything was delicious and the drinks were great. Cant wait to go again and try the burgers!

I was only there an hour but liked the atmosphere

I was here on a dinner date last week and had a great meal on the patio. The gyro was outstanding as were the rosemary truffle fries and spinach pie panini. Laid back atmosphere with attentive service.

Decent chill spot. The patio is a bit narrow but nice to sit out on, on a warm summer night. I didnt get to try the food this round, but the kitchen is open late. There was a $10 minimum to use a credit/debit card at the bar.

The owner did a nice job in expanding a little neighborhood dive into a gastro pub. Tried the classic Gyro with fries and a salad. The gyro was a well prepared standard sandwich, no surprises, the fries were perfect and the salad was fresh and creative. A nice little place in the very competitive Lakewood food scene. Would go back.

Nice easy to access location, good food menu, drinks are acceptable, moderate expense in comparison to the area. Ordered vegan food, received animal meat with chards of bone in the dish. Luckily I’m not a true vegan but was not pleased with the situation. Nothing was done to remedy the situation. Avoid this establishment if you’re conscious of your dietary needs. Or at least double check that your food has been correctly prepared. It was very tasty otherwise.

Much better food than I expected.We came here for a family birthday party and the staff and food was wonderful. Food came out very quickly. The chicken for my sandwich was cooked perfectly. It takes a good cook to make a shaped chicken breast juicy and flavorful.The place is small but has heart.

Phenomenal treatment!!!My friend and I came in, we were given gyro samples and shots because we had, had a bad experience at Barrio. The first thing I noticed was when we walked in and they said Please feel free to sit anywhere youd like! That was very pleasant!!The fact that the staff did everything they could to ensure we had a positive experience shined through!!!Highly recommended!

Decent drinks and bar food, gyro I havent had personally. The layout in the bar is different, we sat on a lower level indoors but had to turn on our own lights that werent plugged in to see each other in the space. Stayed for a while and enjoyed the area, Had a great time here last St Patricks day!

DELICIOUS food! I have a gluten allergy and Mars does not disappoint! Have had many of the burgers but but got chicken last night on the Brie burger (Saturn I think? Or French- can’t remember as I INHALED it lol !) instead of burger. Wow it was so good! And the fries there are so flipping good!!! I like the plain but garlic parm fries are good and the truffle ones are too!! I ate way too much! George is such a nice guy and he always says hi to us- and you can tell he does his best to be on hand at the bar. He’s literally always there! Which is good, because it means he’s keeping his eye on things. Bartenders are nice, too!

Some of the best bar food I ever ate. Portions are good size well cooked and flavored. Bartenders are clean neat friendly and very attentive. The atmosphere is laid back and very clean. Music isnt so loud you cant talk and the owner is very friendly not only did he come out and greet me but also bought me a drink the second time i came in very classy.

This place has a really wonderful menu. Its surprising for a neighborhood bar. The selection of Greek food is incredible and, wow, their portions are generous to say the least. Do yourself a favor and have the meatballs.

Always a great little spot to sit and enjoy a few drinks, eat some well made burgers or gyros and watch a sport game. Decent wine selection too with a proper serving system. Very attentive owner who takes care with his customers.

Server was good but the overall service that was not in the servers control was not. First they waited 30 mins to notify us that they were almost out of beyond burgers and only had one left so 2/4 of us changed our order. the order that was changed 30 mins after placing the order came out first and then 15 minutes later the first burger(which was ordered as real beef) came out another 10-15 minutes went by and we were served a real beef patty even though we asked for a beyond patty. When we talked to the manager about our experience after being there for 2 hours he tried to throw our sever under the bus about the beyond patty saying she should have caught which is clearly not the case it shouldn’t have even have been in the window in the first place. We were given a free meal coupon which we will not be using because we will not return to this establishment. Like I said server was good service was not!

The addition of the cafe to the original bar was a fantastic idea. Lamb meatball appetizer is wonderful. Salads were very good but would have benefited from some darker greens and in my partners case fresher (some browning observed). Carrot cake respectable but almost equal volumes of frosting and cake might better lean toward more cake.

This is an excellent bar with outstanding food and beers. Gyros are a specialty and they are way better than most others, with homemade yogurt sauce, good meat and excellent bread, tomatoes and onions. They have outstanding craft beers on tap. Definitely worth a visit. We will be back.

Called in and ordered take from here. Order a chicken gyro and they gave me shredded chicken and cut up pita. That’s what I get for not looking at my food before I leave this place. This is not a chicken gyro, and not what I ordered at all. Cost me more money too. Not the first time I’ve had issue with ordering take out from here. At least they gave me my fries this time. Food is good though. Besides this order

The bartender was very friendly. She never made me wait, I love that. Their rosemary fries are to die for. This bar has come along way since the mid 90s. Ive been a long time customer and the staff for years have been great. Whoever does the hiring needs to give a seminar for other businesses. Lol

A TRUE CLASSIC! Had a Gyro which was outstanding and delicious garlic fries. My son and I tried two different pumpkin beers, wonderful. The best part getting to hang out with my son.

I placed a to go order for a gyro with extra cucumber sauce only to get all the way home and see they put ZERO sauce on the gyro or in the bag. Now I get to eat a big dry gyro with mayo and ketchup... This was my first time ordering here and will be my last. Big fail.

Twice weve tried coming in for a drink and a bite to eat. Twice the service was absolutely horrible.It was early in the day and not busy at all. The barmaid was completely put off by having to wait on us at the bar. She showed her displeasure by slamming our drinks down and throwing menus at us. Needless to say we didnt even finish our drinks before leaving. Ive never felt so unwelcome.

Really nice place! Two outdoor patios, great food, drinks and service. Really love the filet kabobs! Its also iconic! Been here forever except now it only gotten bigger and better.

This was a fine dive. They were one of the few places open on Memorial Day, so I stopped in. I wasnt blown away, but if youre looking for a place with bar food and some beer, this is it.

The food, drinks, and service were awful. I went with a group and we each ordered different alcoholic drinks and meals. Each of our drinks tasted like either water or sprite and they would not take the drinks back or remake them. The food was cold. The fries had no salt and wings did not have any sauce on them. I would not recommend this place.

Well made gyros, and reasonably priced drinks. The owner is often present, which I appreciate. The staff is engaging and friendly. The atmosphere is just right. I highly recommend stopping here with a few friends.

Food was very good, however, this particular visit, they did not have any beer on draft, which was disappointing. Not sure if it was an equipment issue, or a supply issue, but it was a bit disappointing. Id also like to see them add a happy hour with specials, of some sort.

Great gyro mezze plate here, go for the mezze not the pre-built gyro because its easier to eat and tastes better. The service is good albeit I dont like that the tri platter didnt come with enough pita so thats a downside. Also parking is street parking.

Delicious. I got a salad that was so big that the leftovers barely fit in the to go box. Great value. Lamb meatballs were really unique and delicious.

The interior is a bit shabby. Only had one wait person handling the bar and the dining area. We went there to have lunch, but finally just walked out.

The food is pretty good but behind the bar floods and the poor bartenders have to walk through it. Looks pretty ghetto and unprofessional. Also has an odor. Although has good food, not very appetizing place. Gotta get it together

This is primarily a Gyro place that also serves burgers and sandwiches.Gyros are massive and great. Pita with Pizza dip was pretty good too

Me and my Dad went there for the first time and tried the Burgers & Fries and they were absolutely bomb 🔥🔥👌 The fries were extremely fresh and very good tasting and reminded of fresh cut fries at the fair! I recommend trying the Mercury Burger its absolutely awesome 🤙🏾😋 Keep up the awesome job guys and Ill see you guys next time Im in town 👍👍

Celebrated our 4 year anniversary and recently engaged to be married. Mars bar will always be in our lives and in our hearts. I met the love of my life at Mars Bar Cafe. We make it a point to stop in on our anniversary. Great place, amazing food, great energy at the Mars bar.

I was going to this bar since 1997, when George was dreaming of if owning it! Glad to see he got it, and it looks like he did a great job! Ill be visiting it soon just try one of his Gyros a Ouzo and smash a playe on the floor.

I got burgers and fries and they were great! Both were gluten free and amazing. One of the best places to get fries in Lakewood. Definitely going to go back again.

I was extremely surprised at the outstanding quality of the food here. I got the OG Salad (Greek Salad) & was thinking it would be meh. No! It was fantastic, lots of tomatoes & cucumbers, & Gyro meat topper was spot on. Good job, Mars chef!

First visit. Cool place, mostly a young crowd (we were the old ones). Had the filet kabob, nightmare sandwich & garlic fries. Kabob & sandwich were really tasty...fries were luke warm & soggy, not worth the extra cost for garlic. Service & pricing were decent.

Great local bar/Cafe!Atmosphere is modern and the menu is contemporary Grecian menue. Definitely try the beat salad and their twist on a Gyro The Mina traditional gyro with a light lemon infused Tsatziki sauce !

Good. Reasonably priced Greek food. Gyro was good. Veggie kabob very good and was the grilled pita chips with taziki sauce. Exceptional were the Greek salad and truffle fries

Not my favorite bar. The music was one notch too loud it really felt like you were yelling to have a conversation. I didnt like their Gyro. The lamb was good but it was basically meat and a pita. The vegetarian option is french fries, pita, and tzaki. It was meh.. Im looking forward to trying it again when they expand and have a little more in terms of food.

Ordered carry out. Service team sounded stressed on the phone ( understandably!) Everyone did a great job, food was hot and care was taken in the packaging. Mars Bar has set a standard in house and now they have Set the bar in carry out. Can’t wait to return. Thanks!!

A must try. The Greek french fries are cravable. The gyros are amazing! The tzatziki sauce perfect. They do have dine-in and carry out. George is a great host!

Quaint and Small. Great spot to stop in and watch a game, grab a drink, and the best gyros in town. Dont be surprised if you catch George, the Owner, working in the bar/kitchen, chatting away. Great local space owned by a good hard working man!

I was just here for the first time in a couple years and was pleasantly surprised to see that they had expanded into a restaurant next door. Id had some very nice gyros here before, but this time I had more of a gyro meat dinner plate, and it was delicious!

We have close friends/family who live up the street and this is always our go-to for food and drinks when we come into town. We love the new addition and the food continues to be awesome. The owner and family are awesome, so we love to support great places like this!

Food was great! George and crew are the best. The portions are HUGE-if you go away hungry, its your fault.

Mars bar is my favorite. Good food, good service. The gyros and mac and cheese bite are amazing. George and the bartenders (syd and rebbeca) are wonderful. We always have great time when we come out and its a quick walk home.

This is probably one of my favorite go-to spots when tying to accommodate the whole crowd. Theres a little bit of everything for everyone. From the tastiest gyros in town, to healthy salad options, to tequila shots...Mars Bar is the true MVP!

This place has some decent Greek food. Check out the desserts they keep behind the glass.I would recommend going with several people so you can divvy up multiple items and find out what you might like.

Always good food and drinks. If you are looking for a place with fewer people during Covid this isnt it. They are distancing and putting up barriers, but the bar remains popular. If youre comfortable with a crowd this place is always a fabulous option.

Awful. Called ahead and planned the evening based on the fact they stated they allowed dogs on the patio. Showed up and some snotty lady barley murmured she would be with us. We stood there alone, not another customer on the patio or in line a full ten minutes in the Beating sun before she acknowledged us. Again, not one person on the patio. No line. I understand the stress of being a server, but I couldn’t figure out what she was doing. Sat down and another ten minutes later she cameOver with complete attitude and annoyance. I just got up and left with the others and went across the street to the beer engine where we had great service and a nice time.

Not only is the atmosphere relaxed and inviting but the food...was sooooo amazing. So many different kinds of local food from local butchers but they also have a lot of vegan/vegetarian options. 10/10 would eat here again

We had their vegan gyro platter and the beyond burger and it was so delicious!! Great, fast service and the owner came around to check in as well. Will be coming back again!

Dined in - had vegan seitan gyro. This was absolutely the besstt of all gyros that I had. Crazy delicious seitan with pita bread and tzatziki. Would recommend it to everybody living nearby.Must try!!!!!! 🤤

Havent been to Mars bar in years. So happy I stopped in to the see the expansion and had one of the best burgers and garlic parmesan fries of my life. I will definitely be back for more.

When we got there the waitress for the patio area was very rude, she took forever to give us a menu and when we asked for some she gave us an attitude. We didn’t feel Comfortable staying at this spot because of her rudeness so we left. Plenty of other spots to go to in Lakewood

Good dive bar with pretty solid gyros. There is an outdoor enclosed area for smokers. Decent prices, dart board, and Foosball table make it a winner. Great crowd usually.

One of the best bars in Lakewood, fantastic food and drink menu. Kind of a staple location for residents of Lakewood but for friends and family visiting Id highly recommend stopping in. The owner, George, keeps the environment fresh and clean, mingles with guests and is an overall great person. Menu is mostly Greek cusine, there are a few Greek beers and spirits available to consume. Stop in and blast off to Mars! Opa!!

New addition is coming soon and Im really excited. This is a great bar, very cozy. If you love gyros and alcohol its a good fit for you and your kin.

Ive heard a lot of people rave about the gyros here but really I was unimpressed. Greek village is better by leaps and bounds. Aside from the food, its tight and cramped quarters were less than inviting.

One of the best hangs in the neighborhood.Famous for late-night gyros. (The Tzatziki sauce is the best.)Great prices and great atmosphere.Ps. If you need a late night espresso, this is your spot.

Tried for the first time- got takeout of burgers and wings. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. Service was great and very friendly. Will definitely be back

I really love this place thats why I gave it 4 stars. However, the bartender was miserable. I would have stayed & enjoyed the new addition but this guy made my visit unpleasant. I believe it was the owner even gave us free wings! Ill give it another shot but avoid this lousy bartender.

I went in to get a quick drink with a friend. Arya the bartender asked for my ID (which is a valid New York State ID) and came back to tell me it didnt scan. She then proceeded to tell me that she couldnt give it back to me because we had to wait for George, the owner, to come in 30 min to confirm that my ID is real and that i am 28 years old. This would have worked if i was really under 21 but i again told her it was real and that i’d like my ID back, as i didnt feel the need to wait for George to come and confirm that i am 28 years old. 40 minutes passed and still no George and I am waiting to LEAVE this establishment but cannot because Arya felt the need to hold on to my ID. I would love to take the compliment that i “look young” but i really do wonder if I wasn’t a brown woman if this would have happened. My friend, a white woman similar in age had no issues. My ID has never NOT scanned in a bar or airport, so this excuse was so pathetic. If you need to update your machine, do or say that, dont have me waiting like a child who got their “fake ID” taken away. Anyways, we had to waste the precious time of Lakewood police to intervene and tell Arya that my ID is valid. The Lakewood police confirmed that my ID is valid and didn’t understand why It was taken away.Next time just pour the drinks, you would have gotten a great tip.

Good food, great staff, Awesome place to grab a drink and catch up excellent bacon cheese burger.

Solid food and experiences however, during my last two visits a number of staff were congregating in the kitchen and most did not have masks on. It was disappointing because I did enjoy their food and overall vibe but that was a deal breaker.

Will always love the Mars Bar. George and his staff are great friends and great at what they do! Hands down best gyro you will ever eat (in the U.S.!) ❤

Food was great. Waitress was extremely rude right from the start. Almost decided not to order because I didnt want to have to ask her for anything.

Really good food and service! The only complaint I may have is that there is not a designated smoking area so cigarette smoke could be smelled throughout the establishment as people were smoking.

Clean local bar with good neighborhood prices. We were there on a Saturday. There was no entertainment. Business was picking up later in the night about 1230am. We walked so not sure about parking. Lakewood usually has bad parking.

If you are in Lakewood Ohio, and are looking for an exceptional place to dine than Mars Bar & Cafe is the place for you. Food on point, staff friendly. A must try is the deserts. I will be making this one of my favorite stops.

George has done great things with this establishment. Delicious food, great drink selection, and a beautiful new addition for more dining space. The staff is amazing as well.

We ordered the cod dinner it was very Hardy but they could have given you 3 pieces of fish the French fries were cold sent them back they gave us a piping hot order of French fries the drinks were chinsey we had to order double shots to taste the alcohol they need to teach the bartender how to make a fair drink for the price !the cheeseburger with mushroom and bacon and onion was very good in the parmesan fries were very good the restaurant was very clean the bathrooms were clean will definitely be back again if they teach the bartender how to make good drinks thank you!!

Food was excellent, I enjoyed my meal, bar tender was cool.

Beer selection so-so and some displayed bottles not in stock and some taps are empty. Food, meh only so so, service sucks, bar wench thinks she shouldnt have to service any of the tables in the joint and its only about as big as your living room. Place wasnt even full, maybe 4 people at the bar 7 people at my table and one other table with two people.

I highly recommend Mars bar and cafe! Some of the BEST food in all of Lakewood. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. For sure one of my favorite place’s to go.

Had the ham and cheese on Hawaiian bread, it was ok but nothing special. I think it needs a spicy mayo or pickles. The beer list is ok but not great.

Great place! The spanakopita lamb meatball sandwich was amazing as were salads.

Ive only been a couple time even though I live near by. But each time is great. Its a great place to just hang out have a drink or a few and enjoy company and food.

Ive been going to this bar for a few years food is always great customers are treated good i dont understand the negative feed back i know the owner personally i personally might not like his attitude half the time lol but he is a good dude he is on top of his bar its always clean he treats his customers with respect all and all i recommend this bar to anyone.

Both times Ive visited here, its smelled terrible. The service was friendly, but they didnt prepare for a possible crowd on a sporting event night so the bartender seemed a bit overwhelmed.

Not the most consistent theming, but its a good bar with delicious food and cheap beer. Cant complain but excited to see what some money could to the vibe
