My first time here, definitely not my last! Im from Akron, about 45 minutes away, totally worth the drive! Drag Brunch is so much fun! The people are so friendly and entertaining! Id give more than five stars if I could.
Great, intimate venue! Love the vibe and the location. Very convenient with the bar in the same room. Staff at the bar were kind and courteous. You gave us a great evening, Winchester! Thank you!
Ok, its so hard to rate this place because I walked in when it was completely dead on an early Saturday afternoon. BUT they did have reservations for a HUGE GROUP OF PEOPLE that were coming in to see a show there later that evening . Actually, I was kind of glad I came in at that time. I got to meet the staff and they were pleasant. The food was good and the price was alright. BUT what I loved most about this place was the NOSTALGIA. This place was old school with a tad of modern . Do not let this place fool you . From outside, it looks quite small, but inside the back room could easily accommodate 100 people. I do not remember if there was a PUBLIC back access for emergency exit . Something you may want to check if you stop and see a show. I do not know if there is a back parking lot to the place ,you may want to call and check ahead of time . I recommend Uber/ Lift if there is no parking . This place is worth checking out.
First time ever for a show here (Back to the 2000s tour) and damn! It was great! They have the friendliest staff of any small venue that Ive ever encountered, the food was excellent and priced relatively cheap for the area and a overall good experience for our group that came! We will be coming back for sure no doubt! Good job winchester, you have a family of fans with us!
Love this place. From the shows, food, drinks and ESPECIALLY the staff. Never have had a bad night at the Winchester. Great neighborhood spot for quick service and an overall great time. 100/10 recommend.Check out a new show! Ask the bartender to make you a fun mocktail!!! They are accommodating to all!!Can’t say enough how great the staff is.
Never been here. Came for heavy metal concert. It was AWESOME. Small venue but personal and enjoyable. Didnt get any food but it smelled amazing. Next time will try beyond burger🙂. BUTCHER BABIES, INFECTED RAIN, AND STITCHED UP HEART! WHAT A LINE UP. So thankful to the bands and establishment. Much❤. P.s. Heidis personality is so energetic and enticing🥰
Absolutely awful customer service from the manager with brown hair and a septum piercing. I used to order food from here constantly, and Id always get the beyond burger. It was usually pretty consistent and tasty. I recently ordered my usual, for the first time in a while. The fries were completely dried out and cardboard-like, as if they had sat out for days, then were re-fried. Literally the worst fries Ive ever had. Hard, impossible to chew, and flavorless. The lettuce on my burger was also brown and rotten. My food was HOT, so this was not an issue of me taking too long to pick it up. When I called, I asked for a manager, and was immediately, and rudely, informed that I was speaking to one. I was incredibly polite when explaining the issue with the food, and her response was that she had given me too long of a pickup time and that the issue was because the food had sat out. That was absolutely not the case. Food sitting out isnt something that bothers me and I frequently eat food after my shifts at work that has been sitting out for hours. I know the taste of food that has sat vs ingredients that are old or mishandled. She also claimed that the lettuce was simply wilted from being under a heat lamp. It was brown, slimy, and old, not just wilted. This is a quality control issue and a kitchen issue. Even if they made my food directly after I called it in, the time from then, to me picking it up was not long. The manager not only refused to take any accountability, or apologize, but also seemed to call my intelligence into question? She then said I could have a refund if I wanted. She didnt even offer to re-make my food. When my partner went in for our refund she was actually even ruder in person than she was on the phone, and told her she needed to get there faster next time to prevent the issue. She essentially said that the food would have been fine if we had arrived to pick it up faster. I almost cant even process how unprofessional she was. Safe to say, I will not be back. Not for food, shows, drinks, or anything else. Bad food isnt a big deal, but being treated less than human is.
Came here for the Until I Wake show on 3/19/23, my second visit to the venue. The bartenders were super nice. Quick. Inexpensive shots, especially for a music venue. Food looks pretty good for bar food, and my fries were cooked well. The bar part is a 5 star. The music venue is like a 3-4 star. The room is oddly wide and not very long so it provides kind of weird viewing angles. The audio quality is honestly probably the worst in the area, especially in the Lakewood area.I do really like that theres no barricade. I grew up on bar shows with no barricades making for more intimate close up shows and I really appreciate that.
Used to be our go to on Saturdays and Sundays- went a few weeks ago and the food was just abysmal. We aren’t hard to please but man this place used to hit for food! Now it’s empty looking all the time without a show, worst food plate I’ve seen in years.. new owners maybe? Anybody know what happened?
I have been to The Winchester twice for concerts. The layout of the stage and floor is perfect!! Even if youre standing all the way in the back, youre still close!!! The sound is great! The food is really good, too!
Had a show here last night with my band Reticulatus. Was a pretty good time. Pretty decent cheeseburger and fries too
If you’re not a blue haired vegan with a nose ring they’ll treat you like a Klan member. Update….if you look like it’s even possible that you once built a callus on your hand, they will hate you.
I have only visited twice and I swear this has yo be my favorite indoor venue, its not trashy I just deem these to myself as dive bars because it is a small bar but concert are is bigger but still small but intimate and great place for shows and yes they serve food but I only at one of the times but it was really good (you get alot of fries so order just those or share or dont plan in eating all of them. I swear they are fresh cut but atleast two potatoes atleast 😊
We went for a goth night and goth brunch. The service was excellent (though the bar ended up running out of some ingredients for the featured drinks on the goth night). The drink I did end up getting was amazing and despite being slammed they heard and remembered my allergies when making my drink. The setup in the back was great for dancing, talking, and sitting without feeling cramped and the setlist was awesome! The brunch the next morning was excellent too. We got the ramen and some bagels, which were delicious, but everything on the menu looked really good. I liked that they had a good mix of sweet and not sweet foods available. We were in a bit of a rush, so we couldnt stay long, but I hope they have more events like that so we can stay and savor everything. I cant wait to come back!
The Winchester was and their staff are A1!! Awesome venue, great stage, good vibes and genuine service. My friends and I hosted our Trailer Release Party (#lolCLE) at The Winchester. It was the perfect venue for what we needed. They provided an environment suitable for all ages, a projector and screen for our trailer screening, tables and chairs, and enough room for the guests to turn up whenever they were compelled to.I havent tried the food yet but I hear its good. Also, they have a full bar in the ballroom and in the tavern. If you are thinking of hosting an event here or just coming for a visit, its a Big Bet that youll have a killer time!! Lets not forget to mention the bathrooms were clean and fresh scented.Photo Credit 📸 Brian Foox
We came for concert, ended up having dinner food was extremely good! Nice selection of beers and drinks. Great staff and very clean. We had one mixed drink, and about 7 IPAs with dinner for two and generous tip $88 at a concert! Unheard of. Parking was tight, but get there a hour early and enjoy dinner and close parking.
Maybe the worst service Ive gotten, I hope the bartender doesnt have any friends at the bar because they wont see anyone that walks in
Smaller venue but still a great place to go. They always have something going on.
The Winchester is known as a great medium-sized venue, but the thing that will take you by surprise is the food. The menu is small but the quality is fantastic. You can tell the cook or chef really cares about his work. I personally like their Garlic Fries (with a whole lot more than that) and wings. Its definitely worth a try for anyone in town.
The menu is amazing! Vegan options that leave you speechless. And their fries! Second time now weve come all the way from Columbus. Trace Bundy was incredible, as usual! Thanks for the memories Winchester!
On the way in to the club stop at the bar for the blackened salmon! Totally decent drink prices. (No Rolling Rock, though, which was advertised.) Venue allows for very intimate interaction with the band youre seeing.
Great little bar with a great vibe, drink in the front and rock in the back!!
Went to play boozy Bingo. Had a blast. Was scared about parking because google wasn’t being helpful on where to park but there was plenty of spaces along the road. The garlic French fries are AMAZING and the prices of drinks were pretty standard. Had a blast and will definitely be going again
Amazing drag performances! They really put on a good show! Loved the crowd interactions! Brunch was great. Fair food and drink prices. Great bartenders, very quick. Would go back, however, seating was extremely crowded for the show.
Wonderful, beautiful venue very small, but if you like smaller shows where you can have a more intimate experience with the music its amazing. Food and drinks were amazing. Went for a Wednesday 13 show, my only complaint, not much space for parking, kinda have to fend for yourself when it comes to getting a decent parking spot. Will definitely be back if theres a band there I want to see.
Great venue, great sound. Awesome section of beer and booze. Friendly staff and bartenders. Dont skip their moist pickles... A serious delight.. definitely a step above your common bar food, risotto and tofu was outstanding
The staff are extremely courteous. The bookings have been interstellar.
What the heck is wrong with the staff working at the Winchester? They ALL conduct themselves like they couldnt be bothered by their CUSTOMERS Food is good, bands are good but the service sucks the big one.
Great spot. Sound is great. Vibe is always great here!
What a great venue to see live bands. The drinks and food were excellent at the adjoining bar. The bartender could have been more attentive though, as the night was winding down and people were getting more comfortable she didnt seem to care about anything other than her phone.
I have been dying to eat here but its always so packed! I got lucky last weekend for brunch and had the best experience. The live music was great (except maybe a little loud) but the food was to die for. Best breakfast I’ve had in awhile and the champagne was great too!
Great venue, prices and staff. Intimate with no bad seats in the house.
This is such a great spot in Bird Town. It’s a total hidden gem. The food is excellent and they have a great drinks selection. Awesome patio, too!! They participate in the food-themes weeks that the Scene advertises (burger week, taco week, etc.) and we’ve always been super pleased.
I absolutely love the Winchester! The workers are always so personable and the food is great! I always look forward to going back. Ive also become a Burger Week regular!
Ive been here for brunch and dinner and both times was served great food. They have good options for vegans. Wait staff was very attentive and friendly. Be mindful of events in the back because they can affect the wait time for food orders.
They dont seem to service food until around 3pm since the kitchen isnt open yet. The food is very good! I had a burger for burger week and homemade sweet tea. It was the best. Im looking forward to visit again food another meal and a music performance since they have concerts and performances in the back. Very cool!
Well I have to say what a disappointment so I stopped in for some beers now they were just fine but the food was overcooked and dry also definitely not a place big enough for a music venue its a very tight bar long story short not my cup of tea for a great night out
Had a great vegan buffalo chickn sandwich. The sandwich and the fries were awesome. The kitchen got the food out to us quic. We were able to eat no problem in the hour before the concert we went there to see. I will certainly be making dinner part of my regular Winchester routine!
Food was good! Had a lot of fun.
Concert area was nice and the help was very nice. The entertainment was good. Food service in the concert area could use some improvement we had to clear our own dishes away. Huge portions of food, decent tasting. Sandwiches, burgers are the way to go.
1 extra star because my family enjoyed their meals. But my meal?????? my fries had some horribly hard pieces on them to the point that when I tried to chew my food my family asked if I got a bone or rocks in my food. idk if the salt for the fries was the culprit or if something was lurking in the potatoes themselves bc I never managed to find those hard pieces BEFORE biting into my food.On top of that, my crispy chicken sandwich was absolutely naked. No mayo. No greens. Just buns & a chicken cutlet. I attached a photo of this one bc Im really in my feelings over this :(The combination of these culinary crimes had me mad asl but after a good nights sleep, my feelings are just hurt.Edit on 8.20.23: changing my rating from 2☆ to 4☆ bc my family had such a fantastic time at Drag Brunch. Not only was the event itself fun af but Im told the brunch buffet food was well worth the money. They were understanding & accommodating of food allergies/restrictions too.Im still very disappointed in the takeout I got previously but this venue/event impressed my family, friends, even my hard-to-please dad lol I cant argue with those results. I will give the Winchester another try next time Im in town - hopefully Ill have a chance to hit up a Drag Brunch for some family fun[PS the drag show is family friendly. Bring your loved ones: kids, husband, besties, aunties, cousins, etc]
Fine smash burger made right in a classic neighborhood concert hall.
Free to play bingo nights Wednesdays is great, so much fun. It has become a real cult experience. Food is really top notch, 13 bucks as of this review for a big ol cheeseburger/chicken sandwich and fries recommended. Also tons of dope veg options for those so inclined.
Went for Sunday morning brunch and very much enjoyed my visit! This was my first time here and I loved the atmosphere, not what I was expecting when I pulled up to the building! It’s definitely a pleasant little surprise. The place was very popular and I was loving the mimosas! $15 for champagne with unlimited OJ for the table.
The absolute best definition of hole in the wall. This unassuming bar has a ton of punk venue charm, great cocktails, and a brunch menu to envy.Their biscuits and gravy and chicken and waffles are delicious and their brunch cocktails are clever, varied, and delicious.Staff was prompt, kind, and helpful despite it being a busy and snowy Sunday.Definitely check this place out.
Loved the atmosphere of the bar and the location as well. Bartenders were knowledgeable and very friendly. Prices were reasonable and menu and selection was awesome. Saw a show as well and the small venue made for an intimate show that helped me feel connected to the artist.
RUDE bartender. Good food and vibes!
Their themed brunches and live shows are always so much fun. Their vegan and vegetarian options are really tasty and, although I dont practice a meatless diet, their menus for began Mondays are ever-changing and always yummy. The Winchester burger is so good that Ive insisted on more than one friend ordering it during my many visits lol. The bar has a laid-back vibe that makes it perfect for any outing, from a chill date night to a quick nightcap. I love the music and shows/movies they put on and have enjoyed every event Ive had the pleasure of attending. Definitely worth checking out for delicious, interesting bar snacks and awesome service.
We’ve had burgers from Winchester twice now. I ordered the plant based burger and it’s so good, great flavor. My dining partner had the beef burger and says it’s one of the best burgers he’s ever had. So fresh and great flavor. Plus the fries are delicious and you get a very healthy portion. Highly recommended! We’ve never been in we’ve gotten Uber eats both times. Looking forward to dining In Soon.
We went to the Cleveland Air Guitar Regionals and it was a blast! The Winchester has a great setup, two rooms that can run simultaneous events with little to no noise heard between. I was impressed with the setup. Nice size stage, good sound system, the staff was great. Definitely recommend as a great local place for live events.
Great vegan/ vegetarian food options and always something going on here...from music to bingo!
I went there for lunch with my daughter one Saturday afternoon. The place was empty and the menu that the bar maid gave us had mostly breakfast food on it, however I ordered the French toast with bacon and an additional side of sausage. After the first bite all I was able to say was WOW! It was delicious! And they did t just give me two or three measly pieces of bacon either! They gave me EIGHT PIECES of large, crispy, bacon and it was great! When I left my house to go there I never thought Id be eating French toast for breakfast- and liking it! The service was great and the time that we were there it was no crowded. I would definitely come back again and again. I just never thought I would come to a bar and eat breakfast. To everyone reading this, The Winchester is a nice place, and youve got to try the French toast!
Burger week continues and this burger was delicious!! Cheese curds, bacon jam on the perfectly toasted bun, served light pink - pure burger perfection. Rosemary fries very good. Lavender lemonade refreshing. Friendly staff. Cant wait to go back and try brunch.
Excellent place to see a show. Good food, great draft list. Only one bartender taking orders and filling drinks, but he did a great job juggling all the people. Look forward to coming back.
If youre a concert goer, this place is a 10!! However, I go to the Winchester to photograph the shows, and the lighting for pictures is less than desirable! The people who work here are always nice and attentive. My biggest gripe is the stage lighting sucks. Anyone else, its awesome!!
This was my first time at this location and I was very impressed with the overall set up. The area in back where they have the music venues is very nicely done and gives you just enough space to have a good number of people present for listening to the music. The staff was very friendly and I was able to get my drinks quickly even with many people waiting in lines that seem to move along pretty fast. The area was very clean and outside of the building seem to be very safe and secure, I did not have any safety concerns whatsoever when I was visiting this location.
Came here during Cleveland Burger Week to try their special. The burger was fantastic, one of the better creations I tried during the week. The fries were also some of the best Ive had in the area. Service was great. The only downside was that the music in the restaurant/bar area was a little loud for the space. Music selection was great just could have been a little lower in volume.
Great bar, food has improved greatly and the staff is awesome. Nice big open area with a stage perfect for bands or stand up comedy with plenty of spacing. Nice patio in the front as well. Definitely one of the best spots to check out in Lakewood.
Attended the David Starfire show last night for my first time at the venue last night. Vibe was awesome, staff was great. I enjoyed how the actual venue is at the back which kinda separates the scene if you need a space to chill. Had a great time and look forward to coming back. The biggest thing I can say is how awesome and amazing it was that the venue had a little water cooler set up for patrons with free water. I really cant stress enough what this says about the owners. Absolutely thankful for it and its totally amazing that they do this for music goers.
Fan freaking tastic...really!Little place. Dive bar. Terrific food. What more can you ask for?Hard to believe we could see Drowning Pool! But discovered 3 other great bands...
I really like the venue. Its small but comfortable. The stage is surprisingly large. The bartender there, Caitlin is awesome! Tip her well! They do live band karaoke every last Thursday of the month.
I feel like a knob for not having come here sooner. The food and staff are too good. I got a black bean burger, pierogie, fried mushroom, and fried pickles. It’s crazy how good the mushrooms are. House ranch is awesome too. Getting a bite before a show. I’m sure the venue portion will be awesome too tonight.
Went for a Sunday morning Brunch. After 1.5 hours open, they are out of biscuits and gravy and steak and eggs. Really unacceptable. So I settled for a burger. Half way through that the bottom bun is a soggy mess. The fries were greasy. Wife had the chicken and waffles. 1 small piece of a chicken thigh. Overall it surely wasn’t worth the price on either dishes. Service was good, if it wasn’t would have been a 1 star.
Excellent place for cocktails and live music. Its a smaller venue which makes the shows more intimate giving you a much better experience. Drinks are reasonably priced. No parking lot so you need to park on a street in the surrounding neighborhood.
I have to provide a 5 star rating because I do not want this issue to impact Winchester. My issue is with EVENTBRITE the organization that handled ticket sales for the event at Winchester on April 9th. I ordered tickets through Eventbrite for Easter day to see a jazz band. The event was CANCELLED, but the Eventbrite still allowed me to buy tickets. I found out that the event was cancelled when I arrived at Winchester. I sat in the car while my partner went in to inquire about parking. We arrived early and was parked in front of the location temporarily. It felt off so he went inside to inquire. We couldnt figure it out. Well, my partner comes back out and tells me that THE EVENT HAD BEEN CANCELLED! I was flabbergasted! They have since rescheduled the event for June 17th, but that will not work at all. I WANT MY MONEY BACK! I paid for April 9th. I DID NOT pay for June 17th. Currently I am disputing this with my bank. They have given me a provisional credit while they work on the issue for me. I also disputed this issue with EVENTBRITE. Ive not received any response from them yet! It was disappointing and kind of messed up my holiday. Not very happy with EVENTBRITE. Please note: This is NOT a reflection on Winchester. Only EVENTBRITE the organization that handles ticket purchases.
Was disappointed with Drag Brunch, the food was delicious the lady bar keeps up front were friendly.Had made reservations for a table but there were none to be had. Perhaps wiser to explain; it is general seating on first come first serve basis. The show itself lagged and was devoid of the ability to captivate the audience. The girls costumes, well lets just say they need work, as do their acts. Doubt if I will be back for this monthly event.
Good place to see a show. Very small club/tavern. Drinks arent badly priced. Food is good. The menu has quite a variety of vegan/vegetarian options.
I went for bingo night and it was a blast! There is no buy in. If u hit bingo u win whatever the theme is for the night. You can purchase food or drinks.
Stopped here for the first time for brunch and it was delicious! Huevos Rancheros (my favorite) was so flavorful! Also loved the biscuits and gravy and the eggs benedict. Was happily surprised with how reasonable the prices were. Not to mention the $15 champagne bottle that included orange juice! Cant wait to come back and try their dinner menu.
The initial draw to come to the Winchester was a show a few years back. I had such a good time, I made a point to return to try the food. Their Mac N Cheese is now a staple in my “after show” routine and I crave their cauliflower wings. I could go on and on about how fun their Boozy Bingo nights are, but I’ll let you stop in on a Wednesday night to find out for yourself! Maybe someday I’ll ask about renting the space for my wedding. I think the Winchester would be a great venue!
Awesome concert venue for EDM MUSIC!
Came to see a comedian and was very happy with the whole experience. The venue is intimate. It would be worth seeing any act here and coming early to eat first, as the food was very good.
I used to always walk by the place to go to other and never thought about going in. It wasn’t til November 2018 I walked in and there was a reggae/soul concert. It was neat! Then one night I was buzzed and hungry and ordered a fried chicken sandwich. It was great! So delicious!
School of Rock kids rocked it out great show
Stopped by for brunch and we were not disappointed. I had the breakfast ramen, bloody Mary, and split a bottomless mimosa with my friends. Delicious food, great customer service, and an all around good vibe.
Wife and I went here for dinner and music. I order the Winchester burger that was damn good. It came with a homemade mayo (the special sauce) that really kicked this burger up a notch.I also ordered the garlic rosemary fries that were really tasty. I had some leftover special mayo I used to dip the fries in and again, really made the fries that much better.Whatever you guys put in that mayo, dont stop!!!After dinner we saw Blacktop Mojo (with Lullwater and Glendale opening). The music Hall isnt huge, of course, but that gives it a much more intimate feeling with the bands.Good food. Good beer selection. Good music. I live almost an hour away and I would come back just for the burger and fries.
Great place to unwind. excellent food and service! And live music here is great, see them up close and in person like that is an amazing experience. Highly recommend
Went to the Winchester to support Sashas Drag Brunch and celebrate a birthday. The place was packed front and back of the house. The brunch was $10 dollars. The food was good. The bar offered unlimited Mimosas for $15. This was a bottle of champagne and unlimited orange juice, not bad. A Bloody Mary bar was also available. The show had 5 performers and was very good. The next brunch is February 10th. The Winchester graciously hosts this event once a month and the staff did a great job keeping the food in beverages coming.
Hamburger week...good tasting and great salad! No live music but a dj played a great selection of tunes. Nice mellow vibe in the tavern.
Went for a concert so I can only say it was a nice little venue for a small show. Good sound and plenty of room. The bar and dining area looked nice but I didnt stop. Plenty of street parking in walking distance.
100% meat the most beautiful man bartender. I have him I I really wanted to ask you for your Instagram or anything but I was too nervous 🤣 I really hope you get this follow me @2damnslam please and thank you💚💚💚
Careful of this place guys, only one cool batteneder tonight that won’t double charge you on your card… tried talking to the owner about it, he proceeded to only pull up one of 5 transactions and said he’s okay if I don’t come back since he didn’t want to do nothing about it even though I had all the transactions on my phone trying to show him, he wouldn’t even look at it..Talking to the lawyer tomorrow! If your sever name was ashley. She was the first to double charge since she thought I ordered two miller lites… owner couldn’t pull the receipt up even though I had the reciept on the table…
Dang! Super impressed by this tiny venue. I cant wait to see another show here. Cleveland has a way better music scene than Pittsburgh right now, so it is totally worth the road trip or weekend getaway.
A very nice layout in front and in the back. No complaints about the beer but the burger was a sloppy mess (seriously does every burger have to be incredibly awkward to handle these days?). The sound in the back was inconsistent for the three bands that played and you could tell the headliner was getting upset.
For a small bar the food was mist definitely 5 stars. Went for burger week got the burger, rosemary garlic fries and the fried brussel sprouts. Everything was just awesome. This is not your everyday bar food.
This place is amazing. Great venue for shows, good selection of beers, great service, the food is amazing, and there is always something going on. Good place to watch some live music, comedy, burlesque, play bingo or bar trivia, do yoga, or just hang out with some friends. Definitley check this place out.
Went an hour early before a show last week to eat and enjoy a few drinks. Never greeted at our table and after 30 min of being ignored after multiple attempts to get waited on we ate at the Thai restaurant a block away (5 stars). Came back paid $13 each to listen to a nice local band but heard they were stiffed and not paid. Extremely bad service and wrongful acts towards musicians.
The food is great! Not just bar food. Quite crowded lately as they have free fun stuff going on during the week.
I really enjoyed my night at this hotel! Even though I was covered in mud and my clothes weren’t quite fitting right. Super cool reservoir and I’m hoping to teach all my kids how to use water soon
Went to the Drag Brunch! The buffet was delicious, the drag Queens were phenomenal, and Virginia went above and beyond to make it an amazing experience!!!! Cant wait to go back and see Sassy Sascha 😍😆
All you can drink mimosas on Sundays but only two bartenders to cover a packed bar. The cup was dirty. Didnt have their food so cant comment on the quality. Definitely drives a LGBT crowd.
Great nice people (staff)🚔🙏
Great place, great brunch deal. Where you going to go and get a whole bottle of champagne for mimosas for only $15. Food was delicious too.
Stud Bulls Disco Biscuit band were really good. These guys hadnt done a show in 10 yrs, but were great. The venue was an appropriate size for the crowd, and the food was good.
Pretty fun for night life. Parking not so much. Decent place to see a band and grab a drink.
Really had a good time with friends 😄. Food was good and enjoyed playing bingo. Wink Wink. The lady in the tie dye shirt.
Good band venue and the hamburger I ordered was awesome. I like that the concert and restaurant areas are separate. It was nice to leave the show, get a bite then come back to the music.
Food is above average for a bar/music venue. Decent bar and music venue.
Nice little bar, they were doing Harry Potter trivia!!! Went to see a Grateful Dead cover band, which was amazing. Great set, nice atmosphere, outstanding evening
Ive only been here 2 or 3 times, but is really cool- great bands, nice layout and fun events. The Dig was today - vinyl records - too many to choose from - I found a bunch of 45s for my jukebox.
1st time here , the sound was awesome ,beer prices reasonable and the venue is super intimate its like watching your favorite band in a really cool basement.. I will be back in June for Sumo cycle
Best drinks and awesome musice
Was here last night to support my friend at a comedy show. Somehow, someone got me and my boyfriend’s food. When I brought it to the bartender’s attention he was extremely apologetic and empathetic as well as the cook who overheard the situation. They got us our food on the fly and even after, they were still extremely apologetic. The only reason for the four stars is because of that issue AND it was uncomfortably cold in the sitting section of the show.
Great local bar. Eclectic in a non pretentious way. Welcoming, easy, great local music. Great food. Great service. First time there tonight. chilled to live music and vegan Monday!
Need to get better food choices. Also bathrooms are a bit difficult to access during shows
Food was good, but cold when it came to the table. People waited a long time for food ylthat ordered together while others only waited 5 mins
1st time here. My wife and I sat at our table with our 3 kids and waited at least 7-9 minutes without being greeted by anyone. I went to the bar being our 1st time and had asked if we were sopose to put our orders in at the bar and have them delivered to our table. The bar tender had asked where were sitting and someone would be there. No sooner 4 minutes later a server went to a table that sat down after us and greeted them. So we left. Not sure if will go back. Not like there going to miss our 50.00 tab. When the place is awalys busy. Ashame cause we were very excited to try it for the first time.
First time here and it was great. Food was really good, concert venue had good sound. Great place to see a live show
A good place for me to grab a drink on the way home. Other customers may be rude/disruptive/general douchebags; but this is what happens at a bar. This is handled in a reasonable, non-confrontational manner. Give respect and you will get it -- as life generally goes.
My first time here and i can say the bar was a vibe and the back where people were performing their own music plus a band. it was a pretty cool show for a sunday night
Found this place on a Facebook event. They had Brunch with the Grateful Dead. The price was great the food was delicious! Most of all the band was amazing!
I was here for the JiMiller Band. Id never been there before. The front is a restaurant and bar, and then through the back are the restrooms and a bigger room where the stage was, and another bar. Its a good sized venue, I wish there were more tables and chairs but once it filled up on the dance floor it made sense that there werent a lot.The vibes there are great. Big pictures of Prince and Bob Dylan and others, framed in strings of lights all over the back wall, tapestries, a dia dells muertes mural, a date fireplace... I really enjoyed it there. I will definitely be going back, hopefully next time The Grass Is Dead is there.
Great music, atmosphere, food, and beer. Couldnt ask for more. PLEASE go to open Mic Nights on Tuesday. Its so worth it and the local artists do such a phenomenal job.
Cool place! The drinks were great. They had good music on Valentines day. Its definitely on my list now.
Went out to The Winchester for the first because they were participating in Cleveland Burger Week. I am glad I made The Winchester my last stop because their Burger topped any else I had all week. Their Burger was perfectly cooked. It was juicy and not over seasoned to allowed the flavor of the beef to shine. They paired it with a bacon jam, sun-dried tomato aioli, cheddar cheese curds, pickle, lettuce and tomato. Little things about the way the Burger was made shows the chef cares for his craft. The use of greens instead of cheap iceburg lettuce, long slice pickles instead of chips, and putting the curds on the Burger right before its served gives a different experience through out the meal as the curds go from chilled to melty. Pairing the Burger with the garlic rosemary fries was the perfect side. The included garlic aioli was amazing. The bar staff were superb by the way. The very incredibly friendly and they took our order and had the food out way faster than I expected. I live about 45 minutes from The Winchester and probably wouldnt have given it a second thought if I drove by on any given day. I appreciate that that were a Burger Week stop and I will DEFINITELY be back.
Nice place, Good small concerts in the back quiet in the front so you can conversate. The food was good too. No mask or vax rules which is fantastic.
This is a local bar with a fantastic music venue. The front bar is separate from the music area so you can either go straight to the bar or pat a small cover charge to get into the music venue. The bar is also open when music is not there. The food is great and they have a fantastic happy hour
I came here for a Sofar event and it was cool! I havent tried the food yet but I want to for sure. I saw some comedy on the way out so it seems this place has a lot to offer!
Vegan friendly food. Great drinks and the bar staff was really down to earth and helpful. They even have Cinnamon Toast Crunch w a kick 😋
R&B brunch was great! They were packed so the wait for the food was totally understandable!
Went for a themed brunch. I tried The Impossible Burger which I have read is a very good vegan substitute. I liked it and the venue. Good service and good booze.
The Winchester is BACK BABY! Amazing owners really doing alot with the place. Great sound in the concert hall. Intimate and right in your face performances by all types of musicians. Open mics on Tuesday are great Ill be there tonight actually. Haha. The food is freakin banging! Amazing burger. Simple but its just perfect honestly one of my favorite burgers in Cleveland. Glad its back to being the famous Winchester!
Brunch was no frills but delicious and reasonable. And the bottomless mimosas?? Best deal in Cleveland!! Filling your glass before youre done!!
The place looks nice. I enjoyed the event. The food is not good.
The food is amazingly fresh! The chicken and waffles are absolutely on point with a side of siracha butter and Maple sauce! 10/10 would smash again!
The Winchester is quite literally diamond in the rough of Cleveland (Lakewood). They have stuff going on every single night of the week. If you need something to do & cant think of anything, just go to The Winchester. Taco Thursday is also pretty legit! My company also held their Christmas Party there this year, where my band, The Undercover Band, played. We used to run The Winchesters Live Band Karaoke when they first opened back up, so it was great to be able to play there again.
Had a great time tonight dancing to all the great DJs, esp. Derrick Carter for the Groovehaus 7th Anniversary show! What an amazing event! Thank you so much to everyone that made this night so great! Hope you have more shows like THIS!
Pretty solid Thursday night popular culture trivia. There are six rounds with seven questions each. Includes a picture round, music round, and some other different topics. Beer selection is decent, but not over the top with choices. The music venue seems to be decently sized. They have a lot of tribute bands. Ill never forget when Stephen Pearcy of RATT burned me by not showing up back in 07. YOU LIED, PEARCY!
Had the best time I live in Hudson and traveled all the way over to the Winchester I must say they treated us with much respect we were the only two women of color that day and we had the best time the staff was great and the food was greater we will definitely go back for sure and theyre online presence is what brought us there but the atmosphere will bring us back 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Had a delicious Sunday brunch. Great food and prices.
Visited tonight for the Master TC show. They were amazing. The environment was great and they drew an interesting crowd! Excited to come back next time they perform!
Great bar staff! Really cool venue! Their food is good and drinks are fair prices!!! Recommended!!
Pretty low key place. Usually. It can get busy. Parked on side street. Didnt try to find parking lot...bartenders were nice. Prices reasonable. Local crowd. Had fun👍
Love going to shows here!!
Awesome atmosphere with phenomenal local music. The staff is super friendly and the loaded fries are perfect to go with the beer and music.
Awesome place! Surprisingly eclectic menu. They feature a lot of Clevelands best local bands in a surprisingly large performance room.
Servicec excellent. Atmosphere excellent. But tacos should feel warmer or hotter when eating. Flavor was good but tasted cold.
Fun venue for a concert. The food looked and smelled amazing, but we ate before we arrived. A few more tables and/or chairs would be appreciated.
First time at the winchester went during 6 dollar burger week had there birdtown burger it was fantastic my complements to the chef and also enjoyed some garlic rosemary fries they were delicious will definitely be back also had a yuengling beer it was the coldest beer i ever had at a bar keep up the great work will recommend to family and friends
A tad too crowded and loud for my liking, but I went without knowing what type of venue it was; the staff however was fantastic and ate one of the best veggie burgers ive ever had!
Excellent time there seeing Jim Miller Band. The staff is terrific and the environment overall is another reason to go there. I really love it there, but please get some locks for the doors in the ladies room!
This place is great seen StruggleJennings here last year
Ive never been here before but read good reviews. I went in to support local business and got a 32oz margarita but it came in a mason jar that clearly says 24oz. No big deal, grand total $30..... That is just horrible, I can get a full pitcher for $22 at any of the local Mexican restaurants. Ill definitely never go here again. Btw, the margarita was weak, and bottom shelf alcohol... I know that times are hard but this was ridiculous.
Awesome food, great music and lovely employees. So happy somebody bought this classic venue and brought it back to life.
People sleep on how good their food is. I like I can bring my vegan friends here too. Owners are cute too.
Went to the Nebula Reloaded event here. It was GREAT! Great music, AMAZING VOCALISTS, drinks were good as well!
Food was good but wow,the beer was overpriced. I ordered a seasonal IPA and it came in a small-ish glass...when the bill came I discovered the beer was 8$ a glass. Ouch! Highway robbery!
Great place to go to a show. Beer prices are reasonable. Stage could be higher, hence one star off.
Good stage and cool room but sound guy was more than an hour late for load in I had to wire the stage myself going into their equipment room and attempt to wire/set up the board myself... when the sound guy got there he continued to move at a snails pace as he finished the job I had started... not to mention we had to skip our sound check and push back doors because of his tardy and slowness and he put on Shacklers Revenge by GnR for bed music (the worst GnR tune in my opinion... Oh and it happened again the week after that exactly the same way after we confirmed the date and time with the venue well in advance and informed them of what happened hearing back that itll be better next time... it wasnt... to top it off the owner or manager or something dude with glasses got in a profane shouting match with my boss after we expressed our disappointment that the same thing happened twice in two weeks... real professional... oh and they set up a buffet without putting out plates or silverware to top it off...All in all not a good time...
Great place. The cauliflower wings were fantastic.
Bro, Shadow of a Doubt, the Tom Petty tribute band was so good. Bring them back as soon as you can.
Cool rock venue second time here. Grass roots style rock venue!
I love The Winchester under its current management. It is one of the best stops in the entire area for local music, food and drinks, and hanging out in general. Im at the Winchester all the time. Cheers.
Great place for a concert! Food is good and I liked that it had a separate bar as well.
Very caring staff. The outpouring of support that they have toward the lbgt community is just so amazing.. I will truly be heading back there again when I get the chance I had a wonderful first experience there
Open mic night on Tuesdays are always a good time. Great service, great food, great prices. A perfect combination for the broke musician.
Great show. Small music venue and neighborhood pub combined.
Great place. The staff was courteous and attentive. The drinks are inexpensive & delicious.
Another really nice and conveniently located Cleveland music venue. Support local music! See a show. Great food and drinks served here too!
