This was such an amazing service! Everything from the moment I got there to the time I left, when I came in the receptionist was really friendly and one thing I’ll say about the staff. Here is the use your name constantly and they make sure they say it correctly and it’s just really feel super comforting and also it’s really nice to have your name be said properly because sometimes you go to services and that isn’t common practice. The environment was so relaxing, the locker rooms were clean and inviting, the waiting area before the service was filled with books and just a nice place where there’s like water and tea, and the great part about it is it’s quiet and people aren’t on their phones. It’s just a nice space to disconnect. my service was 105 minute facial with the Indian head massage add-on, it was amazing, the woman that did my service and I wish I could remember her name. She was wonderful. She took the time to really talk with me ahead of time to see what my concerns were, and she even asked me what my intention was for the service which I love that, as somebody who meditates pretty regularly I love the idea of setting a intention for a service like a facial/massage. The Indian head massage was amazing. I would go back and just get that separately, I don’t know what oils and things they use exactly but my hair has never been so soft as it is today, also my hair feels super light I loved it! And the facial was just as good. I feel like my skin feels really good today. I can’t rave about this enough, it’s definitely some thing I wanna make more time for to have spa days every once in a while and this will definitely be a place that I come back to, that I bring my friends too and just all around, recommend!
My husband and I were completely blown away by the level of intentionality given from the moment we entered Kosa until our time there came to an end. We thought the emphasis on Ayurvedic practices are such a crucial part in making this experience so exceptionally unique and personal. I LOVE that every herb, tea, aromatherapy, food and oil used is specifically geared towards supporting your system in the current season. We did the personal retreat consisting of a 1 hour of hot to cold: steam room, rain shower, sauna ritual followed by food and drink offered in the sanctuary lounge. We loved the turmeric latte and delicious Khichdi. The meal option changes regularly and I highly recommend staying for this part. It was really amazing to feel nourished on so many different levels.Needless to say, we are feeling incredibly refreshed and inspired by our time at Kosa. We look forward to our next visit with some spa services! If you haven’t experienced Kosa yet, I hope you can make time for it this year. It’s truly transformative!
KOSA Wellness and Spa was one of the BEST spa’s I’ve ever been to. My mom gifted me a message for my Birthday. Everyone was so accommodating and nice. Angela and Tanya were so kind and knowledgeable. To top it out we were gifted golden milk for my Birthday! Highly recommend to everyone! It is a hidden gem here in Madison!
My boyfriend knows i’m very much into spiritual energy, aligning chakras and spas. He found this place for me to go to as a birthday present and i have to say it’s the gift that keeps on giving. He absolutely is welcome to get me some type of service from here for any present as long as we shall live. I got the 45 min inner glow facial and indian head massage with Angela. Not only did i feel pampered, safe and comfortable going into my treatment. The energy there is truly Calming, positive and warm. Angela was an adorable angel and girl knows what she’s doing. I was GLOWING Afterwards and it’s like my skin changed over night. I absolutely will be back for the same services and to try even more.
I’ve been coming to Kosa for the past couple of years and absolutely love this place! As a queer person of color, I have felt so welcomed (my partner has too when we have done the spa together sessions). The staff all go above and beyond to make sure you feel safe and calm during your visit. One thing I’ll mention to keep in mind, especially if you’re someone who gets a lot of massages like I do, Kosa is a premium experience so you are getting what you pay for and this is why this spa is a premium price. You are not just in and out like you would be at a chain or more corporate spa. After you change into your robe, someone greets you with tea, there is infused water, snacks, beautiful furniture to lounge, fountains, a meditation space, etc. During your actual service they don’t skimp on product, they use a lot of oil and tailor the oils to your dosha, even the linens on the massage table are premium quality and so soft. And after your service, you aren’t just shuffled out like most places, you get to relax in the beautiful sanctuary. There’s books and magazines that rotate every so often or your can even just go back to the locker room and grab your phone and just chill for a bit. And if you change your mind, like I have on occasion, the staff will absolutely make you some chai or golden milk if you request. After you relax and you’re ready to leave, you can take a nice steaming shower and use their locally made bath products (I personally love the lotions). When you’re finally “ready” to leave the check-out process is seamless, I love that gratuity is included so I don’t have to overthink it. Overall, would highly recommend this hidden gem at Garver whether you’re treating yourself for a premium experience every once in a while or if you’re a fellow massage-lover like I am, Kosa is where you can be healed ❤️
Absolutely wonderful. A truly thought out space with good energy and good people running it. Easy to feel comfortable and at home. The teas and services were amazing. It’s worth noting that the 45 minute Abhyanga massage (amazing) ends up being about 30 minutes after the warm foot soak :)
Even better than I expected! Megan does excellent work, and the space is so welcoming and calming. If you enjoy being liberally drizzled with warm oil and having all of your tension massaged away, highly recommend.
Had a 75 min inner glow facial. incredible ambiance, service, and overall experience. definitely understand the high ratings. Angela was super talented; I felt like I was melting into the table with how relaxed I was!!!
From my first greeting at Kosa Spa I felt the warmth and kindness of the staff. The location is gorgeous, very comfortable, very beautiful, you can feel that a lot of thought and love went into the design of the space.I booked an Indian head massage w Lisa M and she had lovely energy. The massage was therapeutic and I recommend her services!Afterwards I had time to enjoy a book, lounge and to order a bowl of kitcheri and a golden milk - both were super tasty and very nourishing. If you’re looking for a place to help replenish your energy during a Wisconsin winter, this place will give you life. It is clear that everyone there has a nurturing energy and they genuinely want you to feel at home. Time spent at Kosa is time to connect back to your own energy and to restore vitality with the services they offer. Thank you all for your skill, hospitality and kindness! I highly recommend
This place is legit. When they say “retreat” they aren’t kidding! Everything was so nice, the tea and snacks are lovely, the massage was wonderful, and the lounge space is awesome. Worth every penny!
Great massage experience! A more unique experience beyond your standard massage which I appreciated. From check in to check out I felt relaxed.
I’d like to start off by saying the spa is beautiful and very clean. Thus this review is not regarding any issues with that or with Angela, who was very sweet and kind during the treatment. I drove 2 hours to try this place after reading all the reviews as a treat to myself however was sadly very disappointed. Throughout the entire course of my massage, there was loud talking coming from outside my room, people going back and forth with carts, doors being banged next to us loudly. This happened the entire time, if it was even for 5 minutes I could have let it go but it happened for the entire hour. After paying so much for a spa massage, to not be able to relax was very disappointing. At the end, I had a headache from all the loud banging and felt more stressed than when I had came in and just wanted to leave. Which again was a disappointment because I was interested in learning more about and purchasing their products too. I did mention this to the receptionist as I was leaving as well however no one reached out.
I had an amazingly wonderful experience at Kosa. I am a recipient of the Inner Light Sanctuary grant for people experiencing cancer and yesterday was my second of three retreats. I enjoyed the spa and steam room, nourishing and delicious food and drinks, and reading in the peaceful sanctuary. What a blessing. The owner Shilpa and her staff are amazing...friendly and professional. The space is beautiful and very sanitary. The chef shared with me all the wonderful and healing ingredients that were included in my meal. I could go on and on about my wonderful experience yesterday. I look forward to my third session.
This was my husband & I’s first ever spa, and I think it’s safe to say we are both ruined for anywhere that isn’t Kosa. The location is unique, homey, calm, and truly so beautiful. Shilpa & every staff member take a great deal in showing kindness and intentionality— it feels like every small detail is thought of.The sanctuary’s assortment of teas, water, and rice snacks are refreshing. The hot neck wraps are also amazing, and the best part is all of these things are given to you before, after, and in-between the services you book. The sauna & steam room (personal retreat add-on) are a “must.”Addie & Christine provided our facials for us in quiet and relaxing rooms. Both were knowledgeable, kind, and personable. The facials were deeply refreshing.Honestly, not enough good can be said about this spa. We can’t wait to come back!
I had a wonderful experience at KOSA! It is a real gem - very serene and beautifully designed. The staff are very skilled and kind. My treatment with Tanya was amazing and just right for me. The food was truly delicious. I cant wait to return for another visit!
I received a gift card to kosa which came highly recommended from a friend and Im glad I went! I usually get massages at places that are quick in and out establishments but this place is very much a full spa experience. I will definitely be going back to try the other additional services. The building is beautiful, the staff is very friendly and welcoming. Youre invited to stick around and enjoy some tea and relax in theyre beautiful space and the smells are absolutely amazing!!!!
I have been to Kosa spa three times and ended up purchasing a membership. Every service I have received has been restoring, rejuvenating, and relaxing. The retreat space is beautiful and everyone is so attentive. The experience is the best spa experience Ive ever had in terms of having solitude and exceptional service. In addition, I am nonbinary and have pronouns in my email signature. They replied to an email I sent to book a session with information about locker room options for me. They are thoughtful and inclusive. I highly recommend trying their services.
I was really impressed with the body treatments, the kindness and attentiveness of the staff, they have really embodied authentic Ayurvedic healing in a professional and approachable way. I highly recommend.
We had the most amazing day at Kosa! We drove 7 hours for this experience and it was worth it, and I would do it all over again. 💕
From the moment I walked into Kosa, I felt complete peace and calm. I went in for a custom massage because a friend of mine had given me a gift card for my birthday... and Im so glad she did because this might be my new favorite haven in Madison.Every detail is well thought out and welcoming. From the hot tea and neck wrap before my massage to the selection of oils based on my unique needs to the organic towels and linens... I felt so taken care of.Dawn started my massage by having me take some deep breaths and as someone who struggles to relax for massages, this was a game changer. I feel like I was truly able to quiet my mind. After my incredible massage, I spent some time sipping more (delicious) tea and reading a book in their quiet retreat area. The owner, Shilpa, was so warm and welcoming, grabbing me a blanket and fresh neck wrap to help me get even more cozy. I never felt rushed by anyone. It was like the relaxation of a spa meets the comfort of a relatives home.Im so grateful for my experience at Kosa and cant wait to return! Until then, I bought some of that incredible tea to take home with me. Thank you to the whole team at Kosa for working together to provide a truly wonderful retreat from reality! I appreciate you.
Booked a Classic Abhyanga and added the Pina Sweda. It was amazing! Very calming environment! Beautiful location. I only had one treatment but I really believe that it has decreased my arthritis pain significantly.....would highly recommend Kosa for your next spa treatment.
Kosa is the closest thing to heaven you can find in Madison. My first visit there exceeded all expectations! I did a private sauna and steam, followed by time in the lovely lounge area, a massage with Christie, and lunch. Every element was incredible. The entire atmosphere is gorgeous, relaxing, restorative, and intentional—from the cup of house-made seasonal tea and warm neck pillow as you enter to the yummy dosha-specific body care products in the shower and changing area at the end of your visit. Christie was a compassionate and highly skilled masseuse, and I left my session with her more relaxed than Ive been in a long time. Lunch in the lounge was wonderful—simple yet delicious seasonal kitchari and aromatic golden milk that I cant stop thinking about. After leaving, I was on cloud nine for the rest of the day. I cant recommend Kosa highly enough!
Love this place! It’s truly a retreat and sanctuary. My masseuse, Autumn, was so kind and peaceful. She made my experience amazing by explaining Ayurveda to me and asking throughout the service how I was doing. I appreciated the shower soaps attuned to my dosha and the hair dryer and deodorant available for use before going outside in the cold. There was an issue with checkout as I had to wait at the counter for 10 minutes before someone noticed me, but I felt so relaxed and at peace after the treatment I didn’t care too much. My only other negative comment is how uncomfortable the spa slippers are and how loud they are on the floor, but this is a minor detail in the grand scheme of this beautiful space.
I’ve never gotten a massage before and decided to try KOSA, which I learned about through work. I didn’t know what to expect since it’s hard for me to de-stress and relax. I decided to go all out and got a classic Abhyanga, an inner glow facial, and Indian head massage. My massage therapist Peg was phenomenal and the ambience of the facility was very tranquil, from the decor to the food. KOSA has a lot of different options, so I’m looking forward to going back and trying something new!
Just visited Kosa for the first time and absolutely loved it! Shilpa worked with me to choose the right treatments when I booked. Dont let the small storefront fool you - theres a nice changing roo. with showers and several treatment rooms, but the real showstopper is the common area where guests can relax and rehydrate before, between and after treatments. Its a comfortable and comforting space with plants and plenty of natural light. Then the wonderful treatments of course - I had a head massage and facial. Lovely!
Atmosphere, staff, and services all amazing! My fiance and I did a Spa Together Abhyanga with a head massage added on and it was the perfect early valentines gift for each other. We were both very pleased and will for sure be back again!
Kosa Spa is an amazing gem to find in Madison! A little hidden oasis to treat yourself when you need a little relaxation. I booked the 75 minute classic abhyanga which was such a treat. It’s similar to a classic relaxing massage but with hot oil instead of lotion. I loved the hot oil, it feels amazing during the cold, dry winters. Maddie was super sweet and professional-I felt super relaxed and comfortable:) after the awesome massage, I booked the personal retreat for myself which includes the sauna and steam room. I was so excited to have both of these all to myself in a little sanctuary suite. First off, the space is so amazing and adorable. I love how it is just you or you and friends. The two rooms are very beautiful and very clean, but I honestly wasn’t impressed with the heat. I’m sad to say I wouldn’t book the personal retreat again. I was disappointed to find that the steam room was not hot at all, not even warm? It wasn’t on when I got in the suite, so you have to turn it on yourself and it take FOREVER to heat up. The steam works very quickly but it takes literally the whole hour for the steam room to even get warm:and you can’t adjust the temp which is kind of frustrating. So honestly I barely used the steam room because it was pretty cold in there. Great steam though. As for the sauna, the heat was better but still not hot enough for me. I liked that you could poor water on the rocks to heat it more and add moisture in the sauna but it seemed like the heater/rocks turned on and off which made the sauna nice a hot but then cool off super quickly….so to be honest I couldn’t relax in the personal retreat because I kept having to do a million things to keep the sauna hot and the steam wasn’t warm until pretty much the entire hour was done:(maybe the steam room should be powered on 20 minutes before the appointment? I would definitely rate this place 5 stars absolutely!! It’s a gem but maybe the personal retreat just isn’t for me. If you like “warm” and not “hot” steam rooms and saunas then this is perfect for you:) it truly is a beautiful place! Thanks so much for great hospitality and a welcoming environment. Definitely worth every penny.
I loved everything about my visit. My nephew and I both had treatments for my birthday. We talked about how we felt before our treatments and after. He said before, stressed, tense, bad body sensations and after peaceful, relaxed and happy. I must of heard it was so good 15 times. I immediately could feel the good energy in the space. It is beautifully decorated, relaxing and calming. I enjoyed the tea and snacks. My treatment was amazing. I love having my head massaged. He had the Kiss the Earth treatment and I had the Indian Head Massage. We already want to book again for next week. I am giving myself this gift regularly! So happy there is a place I can go that is close. The owner is super nice and has a very warm and friendly glow. Good, good mojo there! Going back for more.
Kosa is my new favorite spa.I was recently planning a baby sprinkle and the spa I had booked made a mistake with scheduling and couldn’t accommodate my group of 3. I called Kosa and Shilpa, the owner worked with me over the course of the afternoon to help me book services for our group the next day. She truly went above and beyond when I was quite frazzled. When we arrived I immediately noticed how calming and tranquil the space is - it reminds me a lot of Sundara in the Dells but only 10 minutes away! We each had different services - a facial, a massage, and a personal retreat including an hour in their sauna and steam room. Everyone’s services were heavenly and I’ve already booked in my sisters in law while they’re over from Europe. This place will be a wonderful retreat for my husband and me during the bleak Wisconsin January and February.
Just went to Kosa for the first time and had an amazing experience! The staff, atmosphere, and service were impeccable. I had a prenatal massage and everything about it was perfect. The staff were attentive, loved enjoying a cup of tea in the beautiful sanctuary after, and enjoyed ending my afternoon with a relaxing shower trying out multiple Kosa products and scents. Highly recommend and will be returning.
Kosa Spa is amazing! Shilpa was so welcoming and has created such an oasis right here in Madison. I went with my mom and we did the personal retreat- steam and sauna- and then we each did the Kosa Abhyanga. The warm oil and massage was heavenly! Getting to relax in the sanctuary and eat and drink some of the delicious Kosa Kitchen food was perfect. I felt so relaxed after my experience. I really liked that electronics/screens aren’t allowed in the space. It was nice to unplug. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Oh, and I wear a size 11 shoe and they even had slippers for me in my size! That has never happened before. I cannot wait to go back!
What a wonderful place for a face massage in LA!! First of all, they have an exceptional customer service, I called this Spa few times as I had never been in spa before and I did not know what facial I actually need. The receptionist kindly explain me every facial treatment they have and asked me multiple questions about my skin routine and recommended a facial that that is better for my skin type/routine. She was really helpful and I feel like she cares about customers a lot. Talking about my esthetician, Olga, she is AMAZING at what she is doing! It was the first time when I had a buccal facial and I cannot be more happy with my choice! Olga was so gentle and professional and she told me a lot about facial massage in general which was really interesting. Also, the space was clean , quiet and relaxing . My skin looked so smooth after the treatment and I cannot wait to come back and get another buccal facial.
We are lucky to have Kosa in Madison. I did the 120 minute balancing ritual with Sarah and had a wonderful experience; I felt so relaxed and rejuvenated afterward. I added a mini retreat with a private sauna and meditation room experience and it was 100% worth it. The extra touches like the flowers, snack, and drinks really added a caring touch. This is a wonderful spa that is clearly run with love and dedication. I felt completely safe there during COVID.
Amazing experience at Kosa! In total paid $89 including tip for 4.5 hours of sauna/steam room, sanctuary room, 30 min focus treatment, chai latte and taster platter. The staff are extremely attentive. Got fuzzy socks, robe, sandals and warm neck compress. There is rose mist for your use outside sauna, body oil in locker room, tea and spa water. The sanctuary/meditation space is not huge but very nice. Lots of natural light which I loved and different than many other spas.Highly recommend!! Especially good value for the price!
Today I had my first experience at KOSA and thoroughly enjoyed a 90 minute classic abhyanga with Sarah. My skin feels the most luxurious it has ever felt and I walked out feeling immensely grounded and calm. Had a lovely interaction with the owner, Shilpa, who exudes true pride in the balancing and rejuvenating space she has worked to create. I had a very soothing experience, even amongst the covid precautions. Were lucky to have a space like this in Madison.
This was a great and tranquil experience. My mom and I did a couples message and enjoyed the wonderful sauna. They took care of us so well that it felt like we were the only ones there. We left there feeling so wonderful and relaxed. We do recommend going at least once. I know I will be going back again. Thanks everyone at Kosa.
Kosa is amazing, I want to go there daily! The space is super comfortable and designed well. Everything you need is ready for you including many different lounging options in the waiting/meditation room. It was great to have the opportunity to use the steam room and sauna after my massage. It was a nice ending to an A+ massage. I cant wait to go again! I highly recommend Kosa.Update: July 2020I waited patiently to come back again. KOSA just re-opened on July 2 and I was there. I had another excellent massage and again felt very welcomed. It was different of course due to changes they needed to make for everyone to feel safe and comfortable during the pandemic. I knew I needed some self care and time alone after spending months in my house like everyone else. At KOSA I was verbally greeted by Shilpa and the only other person I saw was my massage therapist. All 3 of us wore masks the whole time (except when I was drinking!) There were no other customers and I was able to sit in the lounge area and sip my tea alone. The other public spaces are temporarily closed but that did not stop me from fully enjoying my ‘me time.’ I continue to recommend KOSA when you need to take care of yourself and want to do so in a safe place.
Absolutely beautiful space, truly a retreat. I really enjoyed my classic Abhyanga massage and the overall experience, including the tea, lounge space, and well appointed locker room. Tanya was very kind and professional, and I left feeling much more grounded and refreshed. This wonderful experience has also piqued my interest in Ayurvedic wellness.
I enjoyed my first services at Kosa this week - a partial Abhyanga and facial. The products they use felt amazing on my skin and smelled so beautiful and natural. Megan, who did my treatments, was very knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable. The energy of the whole spa felt very peaceful and healing; just what I needed! I also ordered some of the Khichdi (kitchari) and it tasted delicious. It felt so nourishing! I also spent time in the sauna and meditation space, reading my book and relaxing. The space at Garver is gorgeous and whole crew at Kosa took such good care of me. I’ll be back again soon!!
Great holistic experience. Would recommend and definitely would go again. Left feeling very refreshed! If you want deep tissue, you wont get that here (this is more light to medium pressure). However, I still thoroughly enjoyed the massage and loved the warm kappa oil used. My body felt so relaxed that even my shoulders (my problem area) felt revitalized.
Beautiful Spa with a great staff. I enjoyed a 45 minute massage and an hour in the retreat, which consisted of a sauna, showers and steam room. I felt fantastic afterwards. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because the price felt higher than that of companies around it.
First trip to Kosa, and it won’t be my last. Thoroughly impressed with the knowledge of my practitioner Tanya. She had wonderful recommendations for some dietary and lifestyle changes for some recent nagging health issues. My Abhyanga treatment and add-on lunch were both deliciously nourishing. Can’t wait to go back.
I had the most amazing Abhyanga treatment with Sarah. It’s what I wish all massages were like - I left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and balanced. The private sauna time was also a great addition. Highly recommend.
Kosa provides a beautiful, serene space for healing, nurturing and wellbeing. I have experienced the classic massages and absolutely love them! I appreciate the wisdom, knowledge, expertise and compassion provided by Crystal for my wellness counseling and am looking forward to incorporating the Ayurvedic principles more into my life. The whole staff is warm and welcoming! I honor and respect Shilpa and her family for all it took to make this dream come true! It is a real contribution to our individual health as well as to our community!
My Daughter and I celebrated the end of the pandemic with Abhyanga massages at Kosa. I found the experience totally relaxing and refreshing. Both Shilpa (owner) and Sarah (massage therapist) were very friendly and professional. We will be going back again.
Wonderful experience and service. The atmosphere alone is a relief from the fast-paced world outside.
We did a girlfriend spa day at Kosa and it was such a wonderful experience. By the end of the day we were both so relaxed and truly felt as if we had just finished a destination retreat. It was the perfect staycation! I highly recommend arriving early to really experience it. When we checked in and changed into robes we were given a tour of the sauna/steam room and led to their relaxation room. They had hot tea and nuts available but I also I tried out their February rose chai (delicious). The atmosphere was perfect, it felt like we were in a large yet cozy living room with the natural sunlight pouring through the giant warehouse windows. We both had the Abhyanga massage. The best way I can describe it is the feeling of drinking that first sip of warm tea on a cold day, except I felt this in my whole body. Each stroke melted away any muscle tension I had. I wouldn’t go in there expecting a deep tissue massage which is usually what I think my body needs. But I was surprised at how relaxed I was by the end of it even though she wasn’t kneading through my back. And I wasn’t sore afterwards like I normally am after a massage. Afterwards we hit up the gorgeous sauna and steam room, showered, and ate lunch in the relaxation room. I had the thali which was a beautiful plate of various colorful Ayurvedic dishes. We will definitely be back.
Amazing experience! The minute you walk in, it’s an eco oasis with a wonderful curation of truly taking care of YOU!The space is so thoughtfully laid out by the beautiful owner Shilpa. The attention to keeping the space as green as possible is a true testament to the commitments of an Ayurvedic lifestyle. It’s is a perfect merge of East and Midwest ✨My shirodhara treatment has been something I have been waiting to do for twenty years. It was the best relaxing experience of calm, while oil was drizzled to help soothe my mind. Thank you again Shilpa for the amazing hospitality and to Sarah my amazing practitioner. I wish I lived closer! ✨
A beautiful sanctuary for wellness at the renewed Garver Feed Mill. This is not your typical spa. If you have never been to an Ayurvedic spa, you must give it a chance! I really enjoyed the space which was perfectly harmonious in blending the elements of the Garver building with a luxurious and private retreat. Do yourself a favor and try the food there! From the interesting and comforting warm drinks they offer to the flavorful kitchari dish. The owner, Shilpa, embraces the ethos of natural wellness and love in every inch of the facility..including their staff!
I had the most amazing massage, with a sauna, rain shower and steam bath prior in a large private space. I was surrounded by warm brick walls, live plants, comfy furniture and pillows. What a way to spend a birthday! Thank you Kosa.
I had the Inner Glow Facial with Partial Abhyanga with Peg along with the 1 hour personal retreat. Peg was extremely patient, gentle and thorough. All the products she used worked wonders on my sensitive skin and smelled divine. I was wary of going to the spa during the COVID19 pandemic but everything was so clean and all the staff wore masks. Definitely recommend for the experience was lovely.
I had the most relaxing experience here yesterday. I came in for a facial and did the added personal retreat in the sauna and I’m so glad I chose Kosa. The space was so tranquil and Peg had such a peaceful energy. My main goal for coming here was to recharge and relax and I got just that and more. I felt so taken care of and nurtured, I took a two hour nap when I got home lol
Kosa is something unique in the spa universe. The Ayurvedic treatments create a level of customization that creates a deep sense of care and intention for each client. The oils, organic ingredients, and aromatherapy in each of their unique services leave you feeling rejuvenated and delighted. Kosa is truly a beautiful and nourishing experience!
So, maybe it is just me but when I am paying 85% more for a massage I expect something a litle more special. For it to be more of an experience. I thought this was just what I was getting but there were many disappointing elements at Kosa. The lobby is dimly lit, warm and cozy however they put you in a dark corner in a single school type chair to fill out forms which had glitches twice during the process.I was then led to a room that had a spacious bathroom and sink area but on the other side of that wall was a very cramped locker area with small lockers and a couple of feet behind that showers. The unchanging and changing proved to be challenging as there were a couple of us in that area and lockers next to each other with hardly any room to manuever. In addition to that there was water coming from the shower area in a stream towards my locker and I quickly tried to get my socks off and sandals on before it reached where I was changing. Those coming out of the shower are in for a eyeful if you happen to be bending over at that moment and there was an uncomfortable, crowded dance as they too were trying to get to their locker. From there I went into the area that had a sauna and steam room. I was not told if they were coed so I kept my robe on. Coming out of the steam room I was looking for a towel to wipe my face but there were none there. There was a small stand with water and lemons but no strainer on the pitcher and due to the heat or the lemons had been there all day they were mushy and pulpy and I took a few sips of lukewarm water with fuzzy lemon pulp. At that time someone came and got me for the massage and what was on a stand by the door? Towels...they would be much better placed outside of the sauna and steam room doors.I was led into a room that was nice but had a rather large window that was not covered. I asked for the blinds to be pulled or otherwise covered so I could relax more and not see bright daylight. I was told there was no way to cover them or make the room any darker so what should have been a relaxing experience felt a bit more like a brightly lit doctors office. The massage itself and the warm oil felt wonderful and Sarah was a very good therapist so no issues there. After the massage I was led to a nice room where you can sit, hang out. There was some tea and a special daily blend in a carafe. I chose that but it was empty. I was told someone would bring me some when they refilled. No one ever showed up with the tea.I quickly dressed and went back to the reception area and couldnt help but think the massage would have been so much more relaxing in this area. As I went to pay I was told the charge plus was told there was an 18% gratuity added. Now, I generally tip more than that but there is something that really irks me about gratuity being added to my bill. Especially since I do not recall seeing or signing anything about that in the forms. So overall the experience was an expensive disappointment.PROSWarm oil massage is lovelySteam room and sauna availableCONSGratuity automatically added to billWindows with no coverings in massage roomCramped, small locker areaMany details overlooked and seem sloppy for the price paidHope my experience helps you.UPDATED:The owner Shilpa reaced out to me and offered a do over treatment. Upon my second visit some of the details from my first review were taken care of. The treatment this time was in a room with no windows which helped immensely. The experience the second time around was delightful and I apperciated the follow up from the owner and her wanting to address the concerns.
Kosa is great! Went with a few friends to rent the sauna and had an amazing experience. The staff was great to work with and they showed a lot of attention to detail. Will definitely be back.
My experience at Kosa was amazing. Especially in this day and age it is so important to look after yourself and engage in self care. The team at Kosa was so amazing and my esthetician, Tanya, was wonderful. While you’re there make sure you try some food from the Kosa Kitchen! It is simply divine.
A hidden sanctuary in beautiful Garver! Services are wonderful and made even more special by Shilpa and her amazing staff. Recommend it to everyone I can. Grateful for this in our community.
Beautiful spa and sanctuary. Lovely sauna and steam room. Great place for self care!
