Great food and great service. Fair pricing too for Madison NJ. Loved my Shaved Prime Rib Sandwich. The fish and chips along with the burgers were also great. The cocktails were amazing. Loved the Sour Bourbon 🥃 and Expresso Old Fashioned.

We were in town for a football camp at Drew University. We decided to go to 54 Main for a later dinner Friday night. Upon arriving to 54 Main we were greeted by 2 smiling waitresses who instructed us to sit where we would like. Next we were greeted by our waitress/bartender who made some some drink and menu recommendations. I had the tiramisu martini (pictured) which was delicious!! We had the Bourbon Street Pasta and Flounder and shrimp basket, again both great and wonderful flavor! We also had the pleasure of having a waiter half way through the experience because our waitress also served as the bartender and the bar was getting a little busy. But what most impressed us the most was we witnessed the General Manager jumping in to help his team where needed. We told our waiter how impressed we were that we saw him wiping tables, cleaning tables, wiping the bar, polishing glassware, running food etc.. the GM (Frank) came over and spoke to us and we told him how wonderful that he is part of his team. And his response was I wouldnt ask my team to do something that I wouldnt and we are all in this together, if I work hard my team will work hard..Because of this experience if we are ever back in town we will definitely stop back in the 54 Main.Good Job GM Frank and his team for being all hands on deck type of team!!

A very good service, typical bar food, French fries are delicious and Hummus was delicious. The drinks were made well. Lava cake was very warm and not that sweet. Loved it !! They have both outdoor and indoor seating.

The place is good, only the service from the waiters is super bad, I think its the manager, a Hispanic guy was very rude. We asked him to open the umbrellas because it was sunny and he say that the umbrellas had fallen, he could open them, but under our responsibility. that if it hits us in the face we cannot complain. What kind of answer or solution is this . They should put a more ethical and a little more cordial person to manage the place because that persons attitude was a very bad experience. They didnt let us enter with our support pet, so if you have support pets, wait until they let you outside, whatever the circumstances may be.

We were here last night and I really wish I got my servers name because he was so fun and sweet. We came Monday the 19th, early evening, 4 of us outside so whoever worked that shift be sure to appreciate him. Food was also good but I have to say that a restaurant is more than its food, its the experience and he gave our experience the finishing touch. Mom loves the turkey club, I enjoyed a hamburger, although it was a little rarer than I would have wanted. My sister always loves the salad. Update: servers name was Carmella 🥰

I love the happy hour here, (it does get a bit loud sometimes). I am a regular there and Ive never had an issue with any bartender/waiter/waitress. Food is done well. The nachos are so huge that they are like a sky scraper, you probably wont finish them by yourself. The pricing on the drinks are great during happy hours. Dee, Tracey, and Crystal, and Christie are great bartenders and will always take care of what you need. Parking may get full around 5ish because everybody goes to happy hour. It is a very comfortable place and met a lot of great people there. Burgers are amazing. Lots of events go on as well. Great place, totally recommended. I always look forward to going there after a day of hard work. Take my word for it, totally worth it.

The food is great. Wonderful beers on tap. Great location. I went when they were apparently putting in a new computer system. Training should NOT be conducted with everyone during working hours. Spent a lot of time with an empty glass!

They were able to accommodate a large party last second.Food is good, the smash burger is especially good. Most of the food is very Sysco quality.The cocktails are ok, ordered a peach Bellini and it had peach schnapps. The something blueberry was refreshing..

Not bad. Decent beer selection but when you order the kids meal they are pretty lame on how much food you get. Maybe 20 French fries and 3 chicken fingers. :/. It used to be a more generous helping. The fries are yummy. I do wish they had more fries especially since the kids really love french fries.I got the prime rib which is special on Wednesday’s for 19.99.Service is relatively quick.

LOTS OF COCKROACHES!! DO NOT DINE HERE!! saw 3 cockroaches scurry out on top of the bar. then I overheard someone saying how bad the roaches are here and that they keep their drinks covered for a reason. DISGUSTING!*heard its the place to go if you have a fake ID. lots of underage drinkers here.

If you want delicious food, great service, and a fun time, 54 Main Bar and Grille is definitely the spot. Perfect any time during the year and never disappoints!!

The Service was awful. The waiter barely checked up on us and insulted a family member. The bald guy who I think was the manager was very sassy and rude over a miscommunication. The food portion was awful. And the ceiling was leaking and they didn’t offer much help.

Food was very good and flavorful. The steak was delicious and tender. The burger was very juicy and the staff were very friendly. Definitely will return.

Friendly service, but whoever reads these reviews that’s in management: please heed this advice. You guys haaaaave to, have to, chill with the salt. Everything was so drenched in salt, started off with the french onion which tasted like the dead sea, my partner got the mahi mahi sandwich and stopped eating it and the fries (shown in picture) halfway through because it was way too salty. I got the tostada salad which was great, save for the grilled chicken, which was too salty of course. And i’m one who usually loves salt, but this was excessive. It’s a sin because all 3 of the things that we ordered, we had to stop eating halfway through. Didn’t wanna bother the young waitress about it because it has nothing to do with her, but as reflected in my review and other reviews, the food is too salty. Frustrating to have to pay for 3 different items that we didn’t get to finish because they were inedible. This place is cute and has potential, I hope that this review alerts the appropriate channels and makes a difference.

You can always count on having a great experience here. Theres something on the menu for everyone and they have daily specials that are typically fun and delicious. I do miss two of their menu items from years passed - the strawberry chicken salad and the corn salad. However, I always find something different to try and I never leave disappointed. Great atmosphere and you can even sit outside and people watch.

We went there for lunch, let me tell you truthfully they have best chicken Milanese and potato fries... love to come again and again best food in the number town of New Jersey. Service was perfect and they are nice people with awesome taste. It was my experience, Guys must try once and share your experience. Thank you again...

Food was great. Good Customer service as well. My only advice is to go with no more than 6 people because they do not split checks if you go with a much larger crowd of people.

Terrible Service. We brought our 3 1/2 yr old grandson who was hungry here for dinner When they brought our food after waiting over a half hour They forget his dinner. Poor kid. Our waiter was no were to be found. I had to walk around looking for someone to help. We ordered glasses of wine and was overcharged. Not a place for a good meal and good service. We will never go back.

Best atmosphere in town if you want to watch a game and grab a quite brew and bite

Kitchen closes at 11:30pm?Nope. Kitchen closed before 10. Three people walking back and forth behind the bar, still had to get the attention of one to get another beer. Otherwise youre invisible.

I wanted to give this spot a good review. Service was a bit lacking, wanted another beer but couldnt find out server. Prices seemed fair but when the food arrived they were small. It was like they gave me a childs buger and 15 fries. Would look to other places before coming back

Had a wonderful first visit to 54 Main. Despite the crowd, service was swift and the food selection was impressive. Everything tasted excellent, making it kid-friendly. Highly recommend and will return soon!

Was there this past weekend, and oh boy... I frequent the restaurant not often but often enough.Mainly cause the food and staff have done such a nice job. But now, idk what is going on there. Everyone including the Owner seems clueless. When I asked for Tony, I was told he didnt work there anymore. Complete Shame as he always made our experience enjoyable.Really Hope the owner finds a good manager and fast.I know me and my friends wont be returning.Good Luck

Onion rings were really tasty. Not as crispy as I would like but very satisfying.Reasonably quiet for 8pm on a Friday night.

Food was good for what I ordered. Some people in my party ( quite a large group) didnt like some of the food. Ordered the mahi tacos and they were great. Calamari was some of the best I have ever had. Great drink selection and the wait staff ( Sarah was our server) was wonderful.

They scammed my friends and I out of $50 worth of drinks.Myself and 6 of my friends went there this past Friday, (10/14/2022) after our college classes as we often do. We were sat relatively quickly and had a rather attentive service for the first half of our meal. About halfway through our meal a young lady I assume to be the hostess for the night, walks over and asks us if we could do her a favor by picking up our food and moving to a different table. She stated that she had made an error and needed our section for a large party that was previously reserved. We moved without hesitation because why not who cares, mistakes happen.As we were getting our stuff together, our waiter Tim, came over and asked what was going on. We explained and he stated, You guys better make sure they give you a round of free drinks. After moving our food and drinks to a new table Tim came back and asked something along the lines of, you guys want another round of what you had with your meal on the house. Of course, we accepted. After getting our free drinks from Tim, it took him 50 minutes after we finished our meal to receive the check.Tim stated that their machine was acting up and had went back to attempt to fix it. Upon receiving the check our waiter informed us that he couldnt get the machine to take off the free drinks and asked us to calculate the bill without the free drinks ourselves. We did so, left a 23% tip on the total that did not include the second round of drinks and left.Come to find out that our friend whose card we used to pay was charged the full $235 which included the round of free drinks we were promised.Calling and speaking to the manager yielded little help. Initially we were told that he would talk to Tim as, Only the manager on staff is allowed to give out food or drinks on the house.Calling back for a second time after not receiving a follow up, a new manager stated he was sorry and there was nothing he could do.All in all it was about $50 that they refused to refund us.I will not be going back here again, nor will my friends, or their friends.

This place scammed our table. My friends and I always go here after class. The food was always great, but we went this Friday (10/14/2022), and oh boy... Our waiter, Tim, started out really nice. There was 7 of us at the table, and we got our food and drinks fairly quick. We were eating, when the hostess comes over, and asked us nicely, if we could move to another table because theres a party of 20 people coming in. Understandable, she apologized for the inconvenience and we moved without any problems. Tim asked what was going on, and we told him we were moving tables, to which he replied, you better make sure you get a free round of drinks.After we move tables, Tim says How about another round of drinks for the table, no charge, for the inconvenience? He then brings over $50 more worth of drinks. Nice guy we thought, lets leave him a nice big tip on what we expected our bill to be. After we finished our food and drinks, we waited for the check. The pay system was down, so we waited a while, 50 minutes, until Tim finally came back. He said there was some trouble with the drinks but it would be sorted out, and that we should calculate the check without the drinks, since we had to give him our card number to be charged when the pay system went back online. The next day my friend who paid sees the money leave his account, and included in that is the extra drinks Tim told us were on the house because of the inconvenience. My friend called, and he said the manager had a big attitude, apologized, but refused to take action, stating that only managers can provide free drinks. As a result, he refused to refund us the $50. What kind of business charges its customers when an employee messes up? Such an unprofessional way to handle the situation. This is business 101. 54 Main just lost a large group of frequent customers and I will definitely not be recommending this place to anyone in the future.

Been going here for about two years now. Once a week after classes for dinner until I graduated. Food was good and for college students the prices were alright. I liked this place until recently revisiting to reunite with some friends who graduated nearby.To start off, we ordered meals and drinks. About halfway through the meal a waitress had realized that they had somehow forgotten that the restaurant had a reservation for a party of 22. She had politely asked us to move to another table within the restaurant which we agreed to as mistakes happen and it was the first time we had ever been given an inconvenience. However this wouldn’t be the last inconvenience of our night.Once we moved to a new table, our waiter Tim who was very nice mentioned to us that we should be getting complementary drinks for being willing to move to another table which was nice of him. Soon after we were ready for the receipt and to head home. This is when Tim told us that their systems were down and that they needed to print the receipt out and process the payment from one of our cards at the end of the business day. After about 45 minutes of waiting for the receipt, we finally received it and we saw that we were being charged the full cost of dinner plus the extra drinks that were “complementary.” From that point on we were reinsured that we wouldn’t be charged for the drinks which came out to be about $50 extra and that since the system was down, it would show the drinks there no matter what, so we left notes on the receipt to serve as a reminder that they were given as complementary drinks and to charge a 23% tip.The next day we see that our friend who had put the bill on his card was charged for the drinks in addition to the meal. Once we called the restaurant we were told that free drinks could only be given by a manager. Upon speaking to the manager over the phone after patiently waiting we were told that there was nothing he could do and that he was sorry with a pretty rude attitude. I tried to mention that if their systems weren’t down, then Tim wouldn’t have charged the drinks and we would be on our way as happy customers regardless of a managers approval and that if anything, we were forced to wait 45 minutes for a receipt just so we could be charged an EXTRA 50 dollars. Is this a way to run a business especially considering they have two major colleges next door with students who stop by daily? My friends and I will definitely not be returning and neither will any of our friends from the colleges next door to the location.

Staff and service was great, and it was a busy night with only one bartender . Only complaint was several times overhead management speaking to staff in condescending and rude way. Even though the restaurant was very busy and staff was working to best of their ability and were very accommodating.

Arrived Here on a Friday night with a group of 4 at 7:45pm. Had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated.First round of drinks came out in less than 5 minutes.We ordered two appetizers that took about 15 minutes to prepare, they were delicious.Shortly after we ordered our main entrees and another round of drinks.The second round of drinks took over half and hour to show up.At some point during this long period, our waiter changed to a waitress. Seems like she was doing a better job after we had complained to her.After being here for two hours our main course finally showed up. The main course was delightful.Service completely dropped the ball on this visit. I would go back again because the food was good.Service 1 starFood 5 starOverall took 2 and a half hours to have 2 rounds of drinks, appetizers, and the main course.

I had an incredible experience eating and Getting drinks here. Truly the most amazing dining experience I have ever had. They were so busy yet still very attentive to their customer service making you feel welcomed and celebrated. Could not recommend highly enough.

I ordered the Avocado Toast. The chef made no effort at all. The toast was practically burnt. An avocado spread with some cold salsa on top and 2 fried eggs on top. Lacking flavor. The home fries were okay. Good Kane draft!

If you want to have a conversation don’t go to 54 Main.The food is good. Typical bar food quality. Inside it’s a lively atmosphere but extremely loud. Very difficult to carry on a conversation without raising your voice 1/2 way to shouting. My wife and I sat outside on the sidewalk because it was very quiet outside. We were one of two tables sitting outside. Unfortunately they were blaring music outside too. We asked the waitress and the receptionist to please ask the manager to turn the music down a little. Not only did they not turn it down but the manager never come out to check the music or talk to us about it.

Terrible service. Don’t come here!! Had an 8:15 reservation for a Saturday night. They sat us 25 min late and acted like we were terrible guests for wanting to sit down. Meanwhile, there were easily 10 open tables. Clearly this restaurant must be doing well, as it’s staff are clearly not worried about repeat business or increasing the check. After waiting to be seated, the manger threatened to throw one of our guests out for being upset about the wait, rather than looking to improve the experience. That is one way to ensure your guests do not return. It took about 35 minutes for our food to come out. In total, we were seated at the table for 90+minutes and we were never offered a refill on drinks. That is the restuarant hospitality 101..keep the drinks flowing! Clearly, this rude manager was in way over his head, which is sad as the restaurant was mostly empty. Last time, we were in on a Tuesday and had a much better experience. Good luck. I recommend the bottle hill tavern around the corner instead.

I went with a group of 7 on 10/14/2022 and had a good time until we where asked to move to another table mid-meal which we complied to. Our waiter offered us a free round of drinks for the inconvenience. But at the end of the night our bill contained the (free)drinks that we did not want. Our waiter told us not to worry and the drinks will be taken off. We signed our check with the drinks taken off but was still charged for all of them .Overall my friends And I where scammed out of $50 worth of free drinks.

Youll see from my review history that I rarely post anything negative, but I cant hold my tongue on this one. When we arrived there were multiple tables outside empty, and multiple groups of two seated at four person tables. Despite this we were told a 20 minute wait. We waited, and some of those tables never got used. The food was good, the server was good. I understand that its hard finding employees right now, but judging by the efficiency and organization of the hostess, this place will take anyone.

Should start this off by saying we used to be regular costumers at 54 Main. The past three times we have been there the experience has gone from great to absolutely miserable. The place is poorly run, consistently backed up in the kitchen, and now has sub-par food. Tonight was the last straw. We get there after the kitchen rush, and the place is no more than 1/4 full. 90 minutes in, waiting for our food, after sitting at our table with little to no interaction from our wait staff (nor the manager wandering around), we get up and leave. This is the last time we will go there. They lost a loyal costumer.

Really good place! Getting a table took a little while, but we had a large group. They were also very accommodating about putting tables together for us.Service was decent - the place was packed so we only saw our waitress a few times. She was amazing though, remembering food and drink orders for ~10 people without writing anything down. She was also really polite, which didnt hurt things.I had the chicken burger, which was really good. Also had someones nachos, which were pretty good. Good selection of beers too.Will definitely be back.

Good experience. Our waiter, Chase, did a great job especially since he had a ton of tables. That is why my rating dropped. Food and drink were good. But service was slow, not the servers fault.Would still go back but with lower expectations

This was a really cute bar and grill, I went for happy hour for drinks and appetizers. We ordered the pot stickers and nachos, and I really enjoyed both. The nacho platter was a ton of food, and the drinks were inexpensive. They had plenty on tap to choose from and quite a large bar area. We were served quickly even though it was the height of happy hour and the bar was quite crowded. I would go back, potentially even for dinner.

Great spot, I typically go for happy hour with folks from work. Solid craft beer selection with a bunch of my local favorites. Ive never eaten dinner but apps are really good. Nice atmosphere with friendly staff, usually pretty busy any day of the week. Prices are at the very least fair.

Went for a quick bite to eat. We ordered the nachos, calamari, potstickers and a chicken salad. All were good. We liked the potstickers and calamari the best. Coffee was good as well.

Terrible service experience! We had a reservation and after waiting for 25 minutes after our time for a table, we walked inside and seated ourselves at one of the MANY empty tables! The manager was unfriendly and had an excuse about the kitchen being backed up, well just seat us and tell us food will take long but at least give us drinks and let us sit with 7 kids!Once we sat down we ordered food and a drink each and barely saw a server again, we were never asked for drinks again! It’s a pity because we would have all loved to have a second drink! I have been here before and we had an awesome server but I will not be back after tonight! After being a server for many years myself - Customer service 101 - extreme fail!!!

Very pleasant. Nice atmosphere. The food wasnt cheap, but it was good -- and large. My daughters nachos broke one of my familys rules, which is Never eat anything bigger than your head. Five people ate well for $100. I would certainly go back.

I enjoyed lunch here recently with three friends who were taking me out for my birthday. The three choices for restaurants had menus on line and I picked 54 Main because it had the most salad choices. Each of us got a different salad and each was totally pleased with the choice we made! Salad items were fresh and appealingly plated, the dressings were also fresh and not cloying. Our waiter was very attentive and kept our water glasses (and wine glasses) filled. The dessert we picked was the chocolate lava-type cake - and this was also excellent - chocolatey but not so dense that you cant enjoy the cake. The coffee cups were bottomless - which we all enjoy when we get together for a catch-up. The place can be a little noisy at full capacity as it is a bar and there is a large lunch crowd. Even full-up, our service was excellent and very accommodating. I will definitely be returning here for a dinner to see how their dinner menu compares!

Generous portions, clean, attentive waiter. I had the French dip good amount of beef the only drawback is the cook, chef could have trimmed some of the chewy bits off the edges. Otherwise good sandwich. The wife had turkey burger she enjoyed it.

Stopped here for a family meal before heading to the airport for vacation. Local place, great selection of beer. Gorgeous inside, well decorated and maintained. Attentive staff and a solid menu. I wish I had taken a picture of the meatloaf because it was definitely something to see! Had a plate of nachos that was HUGE and delicious. Fun stop and a good meal to kick off our end of summer break.

Disappointed in the bartender and service at 54Main. I was very reasonable in asking for one of the main TVs to have the channel changed from the VMAs to sports. I asked because I observed nobody else watching that TV, and the content on it was not something I find appropriate while eating dinner. The waitress dismissed my very polite question, got slightly hostile, and basically said its a bar and I need to get over it. This was after ordering dinner and some drinks, its not like we walked in and started throwing demands like some people do. I paid over $100 and left completely regretting bringing my friend there, and now feel uncomfortable to go back in so as not to be seen as that guy. I thought my request was fair and justified, especially given that Major League Soccer and nobody else was sitting in a position to watch that TV. So, if youre a younger individual looking to go somewhere where youre treated equally despite your age, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Place has a good ambiance thats welcoming from the staff to the bar and all staff... good was really good & the cocktails were superb!Mind you i dont drink cocktails but was told by the manager on duty it was going to be worth to taste it.. well I had 3 😁.Was watching football & the same manager put on the steelers game (greatest football team on Gods green earth) in the tv infront of me so to say they were accommodating is an understatement.Will definitely go back and big plus they have parking as well.

No pictures unluckily.. the roast beef with onion dip sandwhich was gone before I remembered the photo. Over 30 craft rotating beers to choose from and parking along the rear parking lot. Looking forward to a second visit.

If I could give this restaurant a 0 star I would. We just got back from dinner and I have to shower. My family and I enjoying a night out catching up and all of a sudden water started pouring onto my Dad, all over my lap and purse. It was not raining outside and when we left 10 minutes later the ground was bone dry, but the waiter claimed it was a drain from the roof. So most likely the water was coming form the apartment above. They didnt help us move our stuff and we were left standing next to our table/on top of other tables. They offered us another table but at that point we wanted to leave because we were soaked and disgusted. They didnt go out of there way to apologize or accommodate us to make us feel more comfortable. We were then told we would be taken care of. Then we received the bill thinking they would apologize that way and we were given 20% off of the food, NOT the bill. So after getting our dinner ruined and our night cute short we were then told we had to pay. Management was horrible and no one offered to help us in anyway. NEVER GOING BACK.

The food is good, typical bar food. Great for watching the NFL. They have 3 of the hottest bartenders in town. That said, service is usually horrible. Usually they have 2-3 bartenders and still I have to go out of my way to get their attention. Consistently passing over me. Ill keep coming back because what Madison doesnt have much to offer and if nothing else I can creep on the bartenders. Would be nice to actually have conversations with them, but you cant unstick stuck up people.

Decore is simplistic yet aesthetic. The food was cooked well and was worth every dollar. Their menu is diverse and easy to find a little of anything. Staff were respectful, courteous, and timely. Enjoyed and will return back!

I was recently at 54 Main for a happy hour/dinner with my friends. I have been there quite a few times previously, and the experiences were consistently positive. This recent time was no different. The selection of the craft beers were quite good, as were the food. The decor is nice, atmosphere is lively, especially if theres a band playing. Service was very good, fairly attentive. Would definitely recommend to those who have never been.

The portions on the special with the ravioli was so small that we thought it was an appetizer or at least half of one. Our server was nice but not too focused on our order coming out correct. Then he got a party of 12 and disappeared all together. No real blame to him, I am sure it is difficult to cater to a party that large.

When you walk in, you are walking into a bar and not a restaurant. You have to walk to the back of the bar to figure out how to be seated. We had a group of 9. Atmosphere is nice but extremely loud in dining room as its adjacent to large and packed bar. It was 530pm on a Friday and already it was full. Not the place to go if you want to have meaningful conversation with those even right next to you. Food was good. Appetizer of Steak and Cheese rolls were amazing! French dip sandwich was ok but way too well done. Waiter did say it wasnt rare but it was beyond over cooked for my liking. Their au jus is french onion soup which was not great but everything else was good. Server was pleasant enough. One the expensive side at approximately $40 to $50 a person.

Honey mustard chicken salad...all I can say is YUM!! Order it its great. My husband loved his burger also. Staff is super accommodating. It gets crowded but has a nice bar to wait at and its worth the wait!

I went to this restaurant for the first time tonight, 12/14/2020 and I had a fantastic experience. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Our server Carmelo was so pleasant and friendly that I almost felt like I was at home rather than a restaurant. When I return to eat here in the future it will be because of this terrific service.

We went in for lunch. What a delightful experience. Had a fresh chicken salad. My nephew had a turkey sandwich. Both were spectacular. Dee the bartender was excellent. Great personality.

Great place,I know its easy to say that about some places but here.....it is GREAT!! staff is very attentive and cater to all needs,bar staff knows the drill and will make you any drink you want......definitely recommend to all friends family and anyone else that enjoys great times!!

I really like this place. They consistency put out excellent food. I had a steak au poivre sandwich. It was a very tender piece of steak with melted provolone cheese, arugula and brandy peppercorn sauce. It was delicious. If I had to complain the fries could have been hotter. I have been here approximately a dozen or so times and the food, service and atmosphere never disappoint. I am also a big fan of their Sunday brunch and beer selection. 😉

Good Food. Good Service. My Comment: I came in with a larger party and each setting already had a glass of water with a plastic straw already inserted. Then people ordered drinks, they came out with plastic straws already inserted. Straws should always be optional. Our large table probably had about 25 straws, most unused in the water or only used because they were already in the drink. This might seem trivial, but really it does matter.

Great food but really needs some interior updating. but dark due to all of the heavy wood paneling and red brick. It is also very loud and hard to have a conversation bc of the tin ceilings. The food really is wonderful but the dated atmosphere and noise level takes away from that.

Really nice atmosphere (I prefer sitting at the bar) and excellent service. Best wings Ive had in a while and they have a solid selection of beer on tap.

I enjoy going here for happy hour. I believe its 3-6pm m-f. All drinks are half price except for a few exclusions. There are food specials as well, but I always get the sliders n fries. Theyre called little macs. All of the staff seems pretty friendly as well

Came in for a family wedding ....family has lived here forever....waitress was great but unfortunately the kitchen had a problem so most of the food was unavailable . Definitely not enough staff. Owner was at the bar enjoying a few beverages and oblivious.

Excellent food, atmosphere and service

Bartender was extremely rude, she literally rolled her eyes when we walked in and we had never been there before. Poor/non existent service overall. It was a slow night and she flat out ignored us at 9pm on a Saturday.

One of my go to spots in town. Good service, food is always out quickly, and Ive never ordered something on the menu here that wasnt good. Great place to eat with the family or hang out by the bar and have a few drinks.

Great local bar with very good food and extensive drink selection including a variety of craft beers. Fish po boy was excellent and not oily at all. The nachos are a huge portion and delicious.

The servers were wonderful. The avocado toast plate was off the chain. I had chilaquiles which was amazing... my friend had the French Dip which was not up to snuff but they took that off the bill after we showed them the grizzly thick cuts of roast beef she got so... thanks, guys.

Service was terrible for even an empty bar around 3:00pm. Given wrong food…fries came 20 minutes late and server said they forgot about it. No water given at all until asked for..staff completely barely doing their jobs. This place is way too overpriced for food and service. First and last time there!

I stopped by 54 Main last year and really enjoyed the outdoor setup they had. Tables were arranged bistro style with umbrellas and the food did not disappoint. Brunch menu was delicious. I had the eggs benedict and my gf had the avocado toast with a poached egg on top. We came back about a week ago and took a seat by the bar to watch the UFC fight. I didnt realize the wide beer selection they had. The manager- Tony, said theirs always something new on the menu he likes to have a variety of seasonal brews on tap. Our table split some chicken wings, loaded nachos and bar pie. I had the madison burger as my main. Staff was very friendly and we were never rushed out like some other restaurants in town. Im looking forward to coming back. Call me a regular.

Sportsbar in the front, with bistro tables/stools, lots of screens, drink specials. Restaurant to the right. Mostly booths, and some elevated tables toward rear. Good food. Attentive service. Food pricier and ‘fancier’ than typical bar eats—tho slightly cheaper apps may be had in front bar—but our experiences there have been consistently pleasant, so we return.

We had a good social gathering at a couple high tops. Good burgers. The beer and drink selections didnt cover everything the group wanted, and it wasnt unusual stuff, so if youre a creature of habit, be willing to try something new.

Loud and crowded. I had the Cobb salad, which was just ok. Service was good but we were asked to move mid-meal to accommodate the guy playing keyboards, maybe they should have just not seated us there to begin with.

Dee is a great and personal bartender! I am not a vegetarian, but got the veggie burger and it was amazing! The drinks are great. I definitely plan on going back for happy hour. Thank you.

I went today to Main 54. Something is definitely off there. Waited 40 minutes for our order never came out. Order burgers. This is the second time this happen. Other people got up and left too. I always like this place in the past. It a big mess now. So sad.

Good bar in the middle of downtown Madison. Many locals frequent this place to have a drink. Overall, the place has a good atmosphere and selection of drinks on tap. One of the better places in Madison to stop and get a drink or a quick bite to eat if youre passing through.

We waited 15 mins before we were ask if would would like a drink. Then after we ordered a app and 2 meals everything came out at once. Waiter never came and asked how everything was. Food was so so. Bartender was great. He’s hard working. Only one that is. Will not be back.

Drinks were on point. Loved the pineapple jalapeno margaritas. The vegetarian fare was not so good. Wrap was unimaginative and veggie sides were undercooked. Wings were solidly okay. Chicken strips and fries were meh. Would hit it up for drinks again, but not a dinner when Im hungry.

I am giving two stars because the drinks are good here, the food delivery for the three or four times I was here was consistently slow and one time awful. The awful time was where they send food to half the table and the people with hamburgers were left to watch them let there food get cold. The whole time telling us soon, soon, instead of telling us what was wrong.

We had a small business social here. About 12 people. We had a fun time with drinks and appetizers. I would go back

Seem like a cool spot the choices for dinner are good. Would visit again but definitely recommend the cocktail that was really good

Great bar, food and atmosphere This is the best bar in the area. It really has the look and feel of the Cheers bar with a great atmosphere and really good food. I come here all the time to watch the games with friends (they have a great bar area with lots of flat-screen TVs). They also have great live bands at night (my favorites are Lurker Park and Trainwrek).

Good bar service. Had steak frites. Steak was good. Fries were cold, tasteless and dry. Like eating wooden matchsticks .

Great bartenders a pretty good selection of draft beers and fun cocktails at this restaurant in Madison. Parking is in the back and sometimes hard to get on a Thursday or Friday, and a bit of street parking up front. I recommend the calamari and Thai chili sauce, the 54 main nachos, and the wings naked with blue cheese and buffalo sauce to the side.

Not the greatest service. No refills on drinks, asked for an extra plate-never came with it.Food tasted good, but service was pretty bad. Maybe get more staff?

The food is always delicious. Service is pretty good and its a nice place for groups or a date night. Theres also a sports bar if youre just wanting to hang and have drinks. Full menu and full bar.

The atmosphere is very comfortable. Our service was good. I had their Cobb salad and the Mussels and Chorizo dish. Both were excellent but the mussels and chorizo were amazing (provided you like mussels and chorizo!).

I would give 3-4 stars for the food. But if you only have an hour for lunch, this is not your place. The service is so slow.Came here for lunch twice on a weekday. And both times I had to wait at least a 20 minutes to order, another a half hour for my food and then another 20-30min for my check.

Waiter let a 7 year old order 2 meals from the kids menu at $10 each without saying anything to the adults at the table. Ended up $20 for some mac and cheese and mozzarella sticks. My burger was only $14. Sides got mixed up between some of the orders.

Must get the nachos, you wont be disappointed w the portion. Very good sandwiches and salads. Drinks leave a bit to be desired, however. We come here often and dont plan on stopping.

The burger that I had was fantastic, cooked perfectly and on a pretzel bun. Service was pretty good, not as great as the burger. I would probably go back there to try some other things on the menu

Took parents and 3yo for dinner, everything was great, service was a bit slow BUT we arrived during the dinner rush so it was no big deal at all. Also had a good kids menu.

Sat down, waiter came over took our order. didnt see him, our drinks, or our food for an hour. we left and then the manager said he would check on our order when we were leaving.. where was the service when everyone was seated at the table. never coming back here again.

Expensive for what it is... Manager thought it would be a good idea to seat a family of 4 (including children) right next to a table of 15+ high school/college kids... Seemed put off when we asked to move because of the language and noise.

I visit this establishment during the week days on my lunch hour. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The food and drinks are very good and the prices are reasonable.

They changed their nachos and I am sad. They used to have the best nachos in a 30 mile radius and now they are just average...along with their drinks and other food and their prices. Its not a bad place but its not great either.

Went to watch football on a Sunday. Thoroughly enjoyable, other than my team losing. I had a great lunch and both the service and atmosphere were excellent.

Food was good. Staff was a little slow. Staff seemed confused at times. Very young staff so maybe they were just in training or still learning.

Place has good beers and a lot of potential but smelled like a baby diaper / puke in the entire bar area. Will go back and if smell improved will rerate but for now thats insurmountable it was grim

This little area called Madison is beautiful. 54 Main had fabulous food and bartenders who actually seemed happy to see you. Seemed genuine and casual with great service.
