Gidi Bar & Lounge Minneapolis

Our friends surprise birthday party was extra special hosting it at Gidi Bar & Lounge. You are treated like an Afro beat rockstar in their VIP section. DJ was great and we danced all night. This recently opened club is a must go to club for great music, dancing and great service.

Poor bar service, waited over 20 minutes (before it was busy) while one of the bartenders chatted with the same person and then drank her own drink while we had been waiting. Then the bartender stirred the drink with a straw with her hand on the part you sip out of. Just unsanitary when they’d just taken someone’s card/ money

I went to what I believe was an after party for a show that had been put on at the Capri Theater that was at Gidi. For an African Club that hasn’t been open that long yet in place of an R&B/Hip Hop club that was once housed in the same place I’d say I was mildly impressed with the turn out. Lots of beautiful melanated people. My only ick was there were too many DJs & a lot of what they played was niche to specific parts of the Motherland. I deeply love AfroBeats/AfroFusion, but it was hard at times to groove to tunes I’d never heard before. I’lo definitely go back there again & if you love clubs with the kind of vibe I described deffo check them out.
