Let me start with this - Ive read a lot of complaints about being hounded, bothered, hung up on, not able to make an appointment etc...Ive had none of these experiences. The receptionist is always friendly and accommodating in my appointment scheduling. My appointment has always started right on time and my massage therapist - Riley - is amazing. He makes the entire experience very relaxing and effective. He listened closely when we talked prior to the massage and focused on the issues I had brought up. After the massage was over he gave me some great tips on how to take care of my body to keep it from seizing up again.I called an set up my brother for a massage for his birthday and the receptionist was amazing. He arranged everything so that all my brother had to do was walk in and give his name and the rest was taken care of for him - which is exactly how I wanted it to go. He really enjoyed his experience there as well!A lot of the reviews here are pretty old - so maybe it was under different management - I was not pressured to buy a membership, I was simply handed a brochure. There are tip guidelines in the rooms but I do not feel like thats trying to get tips - I find it very helpful as I usually have no idea what to tip someone who has made me feel so amazing.I recommend this business and Riley to all of my friends and family members and I am counting down the days until my next massage!
Second time coming to this location. This time the massage therapist never showed up for my appointment. Waiting to hear back from the manager tomorrow. As staff couldnt help me this afternoon. They said I wouldnt be charged for the appointment. I should hope not! Will add back stars depending on what the manager has to say.Update - I had to call the assistant manager as the manager never called me back. She was nice and understanding. She agreed that my experience was not good, so she credited my account for a 60 minute session.Added 2 stars for a total of three.
DO NOT sign up for a membership here! I was a member here for 7 months. The massage therapists were great, but the management is horrendous! I cancelled my membership twice online with no response from the Edina location (it states this is a requirement). I spoke with the manager in person, she said she would call me. No call. I spoke with the front desk who confirmed my membership was cancelled at my last appointment. Guess what? I was still charged my membership fees. I have been calling for the last two weeks to speak with Kristen, and have not received a response (after being reassured she would call). Very unprofessional customer service to say the least.
The couples massage itself was great. We scheduled a 90 min massage, but were given a 60 due to being 10 min late for our appointment time. We started the massage at 4.23pm and we were done at 5.23. after getting dressed and talked to our therapists we were done around 4.35. Ken and Christine were great! Mitch the front desk guy ruined our experience though. Not only did he charge us for a full 90 min massage despite only getting a 60, but he was also extremely rude and apathetic when we tried to ask him about it. I have never seen guest service like that before. Apparently, you are supposed to show up 15 min early to fill out paper work, but we were never told that. Had we known that we would recieve a 60 but be charged for a 90, we would have left the moment we got there. Sorry Ken and Christine (our massage therapists) you guys were great, but leaving a tip was not an option after Mitch overcharged our service rendered and left my girlfriend in tears. The relaxation we got was ruined before we even left the building. Do not go here unless you want to be overcharged. Will never go back again.
My husband and I went here over the weekend. We did a couples massage. My husband said his massage was okay but not anything to write home about. But for me it was a miserable experience. My therapist not only used a lot of unnecessary pressure on my body but also focused on pressure points. (mainly in my left forearm and hand) I did let the therapist know several times that he was hurting me and while he acknowledged my discomfort, he did not change his approach to me. At one point it felt like he was using his nails. I should have just left but I kept hoping it would get better. When we left I was dazed and in so much pain. At dinner that night i noticed my hand was swollen and the point between my thumb and forefinger was hot with pain. This was hands down the worst massage of my life.
Love this place. The staff is always super nice and helpful and I can be honest with the message therapists. There are also so many massage therapists that if you dont like one, you can find another!!Kind of expensive to do the membership, but totally worth it if you hold your stress in your shoulders like I do!
The Spa has amazing customer service and will always try to accommodate you. It is helpful to spend time describing the type of massage you need, as all therapists have different styles. The membership is a great way to make the commitment to take care of yourself at least monthly!
Absolutely awful. The membership is a scam, and massage therapists have no idea what theyre doing.I got conned into getting the monthly membership, and I wasnt able to use my saved sessions for a while. I try to use the saved sessions that Ive already paid for, but the massages leave me bruised more than relaxed. I try to gift my sessions to someone else, but they only let you gift them during a two-week period in September, for some entirely arbitrary and stupid reason. If you want to cancel your membership, you lose the sessions youve already paid for, and you dont get a refund.Do not recommend.
I am urging everyone I know and love to AVOID THIS PLACE. I was given a gift certificate last year for a facial and massage. Neither service was that great (the masseuse talked loudly THE WHOLE TIME) and the estetician was late. The worst part is having to go to the front desk on your way out. Not only was I hounded for tips (there are tip guides in every room, recommending tips beginning at $10 for each service you receive), but I got the heavy sales pitch for some really expensive products that were recommended for me. Then the membership sales pitch begins. And I was suckered. Worst decision I have ever made. After a few more visits, I realized this place is just plain horrible. Appointments are difficult to get and many times you get there to find out that your appointment has been cancelled. Playing along with the rules, I knew I was stuck with this membership for a year. To my surprise, when the year was up, I was still being charged and came to find out that you have to email the corporate office to request a cancellation and they require a 30 day notice. There goes another month to pay! What a crock! Bottom line - service is horrible and products suck and are overpriced. Massage Envy is good, will let you pay by cash for each appointment and doesnt hound its customers. Give them your money instead. Calling the Better Biz Bureau on this dump right now.....
I have repeatedly seen massage therapists that are sub-par. I ask for deep tissue massages and have been met with light rub-downs and excessive loud conversation. I have filed numerous complaints and been told that I cannot cancel the monthly membership that is supposedly committed to one year. I am thankful that my credit card number was recently stolen and cancelled because I will not be giving them any more business with this company.
I went here after purchasing a Groupon. I was a little hesitant to go based on some of the reviews, especially ones concerning membership. I was greeted right away, checked in by friendly staff, and offered some water while I waited. Riley was my massage therapist and he was FANTASTIC. He listened to my needs and focused on my problem areas. The pressure was just right. One thing that I really liked is that he incorporated light stretching into my massage. Ive never had that done during a massage before but it was great. When we finished, Riley gave me some recommendations based on what he noticed during my session (where I was dehydrated, what muscles were tight and should be stretched more frequently, etc). He seemed very knowledgable and invested in my well being. When I checked out, I was nervous that I was going to get pressured in to buying a membership but all I received was a recommendation to purchase one if I planned on coming back often in the future. One star comes off for some minor things. The major issue is that after your massage you are brought back into the hustle and bustle of the main lobby. I really wish they had a small space where you could decompress and gather yourself together before reemerging into the real world. I didnt quite feel ready to go out in the lobby right away. The other minor issue is the use of plastic cups and a water cooler. It felt cheap and the experience could really be elevated by using real glasses and some pitchers of infused water.Overall, I was very satisfied with the service. Everyone was courteous and Im pleased with the entire experience and will be returning to see Riley soon.
I have had nothing but great experiences here, the staff is extremely friendly and they have extremely flexible hours (they take appointments at 9:00PM)!! The only thing that made me give it 4 instead of 5 stars is the facials, at other places that I have had facials, they massage your neck, shoulders, arms, etc while you have masks or hydrating product on while you wait. It would be nice to have this too, because it doesnt really give you that totally relaxed feeling that I have had at other places. I recommend to all my friends and family.
My girlfriend and I went in for a couples massage and were suckered into a membership. I will say that I enjoyed the massage, however, I learned the hard way that this business is not run very professionally.I went out of town and the day I got back attempted to call and cancel my membership. This was a week later. I first found out that I cannot cancel the membership at the location and that the girl who was simply covering did not know how I could even cancel a membership. I asked for a corporate office phone number which was refused to be supplied to me. She told me she would leave a message for the manager who might possibly call me back that evening. This manager did not. I called back the next day and spoke with another person who actually was helpful and gave me an e-mail address that I had to send a request to in order to cancel my membership. While I thought it was odd I was not mad at her for this stupid policy so I sent an e-mail. Finally heard back 3 days later saying that I would have to pay $100 to cancel my membership. I explained that I was following my girlfriend from state to state because she was deploying and when reevaluating my finances I simply could not afford it, and that as soon as I was back in town and had time I called to cancel. While they understand my situation I was outside of this 3 day cancellation policy (which I was not informed of). Hard to think they understand when I was only able to get about 5 sentences out the whole time because the woman was too busy trying to get me to understand that I had failed to follow their rules and when I said I dont like this but I guess I will pay and just make sure I create a review her response was and the rudeness continues.All-in-all throughout this whole fiasco I was told that I was causing problems, called rude, and told I had failed to meet their requirements. If you do go here do NOT sign up for a membership. If you do sign up for a membership make sure if something life changing happens you inform them within 3 days of signing up because they are unwilling to work with you.
Most of the complaints I have seen are because people did not read the contract before they signed up. That being said, they also have to remember that their monthly fee for a massage is quite a bit less than it would be at say, an Aveda Salon, but many of the massage therapists are Aveda trained, and every bit as professional!I have had two very gifted massage therapists, the first left because of personal reasons (I know her family so I know this is true), and the 2nd is even more fabulous. If you feel your therapist is talking too much or too loud, for goodness sake SAY SOMETHING! You are in the drivers seat.I do agree however regarding the facials. They talk to much and it is not relaxing. I also dont like the excessive push to by their skin products, which in my opinion are no better than a lot of less expensive products. I will continue my month plus massages and enjoy the savings.
I have been coming here for nearly two years and have seen most of their therapists. Always a great massage or facial and good customer service. Competitive prices and high quality in a relaxing spa.
Although I enjoyed the services I received here I would recommend reading the contract in detail before signing. Membership is very restricted and if you get behind on your sessions its difficult to make them up, and you only get 30 days after cancelling to use banked sessions. Sessions cannot be shared with family members or be used to purchase product. When using 2 sessions in one month you are encouraged to pay cash for the second at a reduced price. Beware: dont get behind. You either use your sessions or you lose them.
My friend and I were down in the Eagan area visiting and shopping for a couple of days and decided to get massages (my friend had never had one before) and we found it on the internet. We called the Edina office and they were able to get us in THAT DAY! The receptionists were very friendly and the massage therapists were AMAZING! I get massages pretty regularly back home and I must say this was one of THE BEST massages I have ever had. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is in the cities!
Beyond marvelous facials with Alex. :)You can purchase Dermalogica skin care products at the spas. The products from this company are quite good, as I have sensitive skin.I do not mind having a contract. That is not an issue for me.However, it is very difficult to schedule massage therapists. In addition, it is very difficult to get the SAME massage therapist each month.Yes for facials, no for massages.
Great place to relax and unwind with very professional massage therapists! The sales staff dont pressure you into a monthly plan and we were able to get a same day couples appointment!
Went there as a gift. The services were okay, but at the end they tried extremely hard to get me to purchase a membership and set up my next appt. They would not take NO for an answer until about the 10th time! It was worse than dealing with a used car salesman! Very pushy and product prices were very expensive. Do not go there!
Terrible customer service. They screwed up my appt time (and therefore the length of service) so they wouldnt allow me to use my voucher. No matter how many times I call to get it straightened out no one knows or they just dont call me back.
Lifetime Fitness was a horrible experience. Glad I dipped out before they shut down MRS! I wasnt crazy after all!!
Purchased a Groupon from them and unbeknownst to her me Iwas signed up for a yearly program where they automatically deduct payment like a subscription service. Complete scam.
Despite the poor reviews I gave it a chance and I felt like I had a really good experience! Everyone was friendly and professional and they didnt push the products on me too much :-) I made an appointment to go back even!
This has been my go-to place for massages in the cities. There may be better deals elsewhere, but the service has always been pretty great.
Always great massage and facials! Karla is a terrific massage therapist, and Trishs facials leave my skin glowing!
My first time in here. I loved it. I literally fell asleep during my massage. Perfect temperature and the or-a was peaceful.
One of the employees was very rude(facial). Reception staff and massage therapists are polite and friendly.
The woman on the phone was incredibly rude. I was trying to book an appointment and had the feeling I was greatly inconveniencing her, and then she hung up on me. Not interested in ever trying this location
Friendly and responsive staff. Relaxing atmosphere. Reasonable pricing and packages. Accepts HSA payments.
Wonderful place. Had a couple massage with my girl and it was so relaxing.
It was great but.... Life Time Fitness has decided to close it down due to Life Time mishandling assets.
I think something is wrong with thier phones, I am having a hard time getting through I have had this problem before maybe they have me blocked.
Jeff was an amazing massage therapist. Sad that he has moved on.
They always have the beat people working here , dosnt matter who you see you will get yhr best service
Been a member for years. Great way to end the day
