The food is so bad, it’s like it’s on purpose. Chaotic bar service in front, incompetent in the back where the food happens. Half our orders arrived wrong, and everything was uniformly abysmal. The dryest tacos I’ve ever seen. The catfish variety (seen here) was as bad as it looks. The wraps were all crisped, so impossible to fold (but really - they just needed throwing in the bin). The mac and cheese with shrimp was neither mac nor, as far as anyone of us could tell, cheese. You order at the counter and they bring it over, but the credit card screen still offers you five options of tip, starting at 35%. BEYOND 🤣
First thing I will complement is the *Chef Cedric* He is an excellent chef! ❤Preparation, presentation & so very friendly- 5 stars all of the above, I will be going back.Bar, Restaurant & Courtyard area are very clean, it is a classy bar.Service is excellent, all of the staff were friendly, & all of the patrons were very nice.Be sure to order a slice of cheesecake with the seasonal dressing, it was definitely worth the calories.
The American Townhouse is one of our new favorite places. A beautiful courtyard in the rear and lovely decor are part of the attraction. The bar is large, well stocked and with a great mixologist. The food is really good and reasonably priced. The service is friendly and efficient and we love the decor of this restaurant. A great spot.
Fabulous! Best end of evening spot to grace as well. Dustin made the perfect Spicy Margarita and is hilarious. He was the perfect pairing for our very spirited night. We had chicken and waffles with duck and bacon wanton! Very good food. The venues design was very sheek with the likes of stylish and happy crowd. Loved it. Bathrooms were very clean ! I appreciate that. Happy this place is close to where i live. Look forward to trying brunch here.
We had a fabulous dinner at American Townhouse. The place was hosting a huge celebration and our food still came out quickly. Atmosphere was great, cocktails were perfect, service was wonderful, prices were very reasonable to the portions, and I was blown away by the Bang Bang shrimp tacos. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.
DELICIOUS! My pictures don’t do it justice.Excellent guacamole! Nutty toasted sweet Brussels sprouts! And crispy crunchy fried chicken & waffles with a sweet drizzle of maple syrup — YUM! Cocktails are beautiful and the staff is great. Clean, clean stylish environment.Upstairs is a nice party / event room with a balcony overlooking the street. I would love to have a party up there.I can’t wait to come back!
Ratify place. Great service at the bar. The food leaves a lot to be desired. The person checking you out speaks unintelligibly if he speaks to you. My order was brought out completely opposite of the way I asked as well as only half of what I ordered. My companion’s food was brought at first without any napkins or utensils. My fear is that this beautiful place will end up closing because of the food. Department. I pray otherwise.
Great service, drinks super reasonable, martini happy hour on Fridays from 5-7pm. Lane was super friendly without being all up in the sauce.Bar itself is absolutely beautiful. Didn’t eat, but saw some food that looked amazing. I’m local and will def be back.
Don’t forget your food order, because they will.Bartender 10 stars!Ambience 10 stars!Kitchen staff……. Hard pass! Next level incompetence leaving several orders undelivered over the space of an hour. I went to the counter to ask about the remaining food and it was blank stares across the bored. I asked to get the remaining dish to go… I had to ask three times. It came, I regret asking, I should no better than to ask kitchen staff to fix things, gross!!! 5 orders $121.00 with a nice 25% tip at the beginning, because you got to pay before you get your order. Lesson learned, this Austin boy and his group learned his lesson and never going back!Update, three sick and advised to contact your local parish health unit sanitarian, done.
This was a terrible, terrible experience. The food was overcooked. Patrons had a poodle on the table. When I complained the guy at the bar he ignored me. I will never come back here. I suggest that no one else come here either. Very unsanitary!!!!
Our liquid and dinner guide Ryan was amazing. Gave us all the options and recommendations. Such a great employee
DO NOT GO HERE FOR FOOD! There is something very, very wrong in the kitchen. The only saving grace was the bartender, who the incompetent kitchen staff had to call for help with customer service because they can’t be bothered. Took 45 minutes to get our food, and that was after 3 reminders. The place was not busy. When we finally got our food, it was cold. The kitchen staff are very, very bad. Whoever is in charge of the kitchen needs to fix this.
I used to like this place for there food , but it seems every time I stop by , is 1 different person working in the kitchen multitasking , doing ( register, cooking, washing dishes) I understand it can be a lot for 1 person, stressful maybe , but The food quality is going downI order the pork quesadilla and the tortilla was still cold , no pico no guaca came with it even if the menu say it does. The menu price says $11 but the computer charges $12 plus wherever meat u want to addI do hope they get more people to work in the kitchen or at least update the menu pricesHopefully next time I stop by my experience will be much different.
It was actually a little shocking how poorly we were treated at the bar. After ordering one round we sat at the bar and tried asking the bar tender for recommendations for things to do as tourists in town. We were told “I’m honestly not going to talk to you guys if you didn’t tip.” Mind you we originally planned on drinking more and tipping cash at the end (per usual). A much better experience at GrandPre’s right down the road.(To the fellow working 3/13/24 at 3:30 pm with a poor bleach job: please be kind despite however painful your existence must be).
One of the better food places with vegetarian options around. I got the cheese quesadilla and was mostly satisfied, although the taste was a bit bland and the guacamole wasnt great. This is a walk up and order kind of place, so dont expect a classic dine in experience with you being greeted as soon as you enter the door. Outdoor patio was nice. Since youre seating yourself, might as well do it in the better part of the restaurant.
An excellent bar on Rampart with delicious small bites and drinks. It can get a bit loud and crowded, but overall an excellent place to chill.
Only had drinks but the place is great! LGBTQIA+ friendly!
I’m gonna start by staying I’ve been here twice in 48th a. On our 1st visit we just landed got lunch and few drinks and had a good time. The food was decent, the staff were attentive especially co it was dead but overall it was a good experience.Cut to Friday night 11pm, my friend Ana I return for a late dinner/snack and the place still basically empty is still serving food . The servers miss our tables for appetizers a few times(we got the duck bacon wontons) and then when they finally get it together they deliver half a sandwich for my entree of a chicken and waffle sandwich. When I approached the order taker and the kitchen they stated this was the full sandwich which is. Half waffle and burnt fried chicken sandwich which was literally cut in half and served. The wall fee was great and cooked and sugared correctly, the waffle was good and cooked right. But the chicken was burnt and unseasoned. Ain’t no excuse for that in New Orleans. The lack of professionalism with the response along with the false advertisement of the menu item left a bad taste in my mouth regarding my experience at this venue.Overall the food is fine but you literally just don’t know what you will get regarding portions or quality.Wish y’all the best, but do better and serve a full sandwich.
Very slow service and my shrimp tacos had nothing more than tortilla (cold) and shrimp (good) and waved some cheese over them. . I had to ask for salsa. No napkin or utensils.
Was there for happy hour and they didn’t tell meIt was for well liquor and not the drinks they pointed out so they charged me full price and ended up with a large bill. Took a long time to get service waiting at the bar. Very nice ambiance and environment and drinks were good but overall not the best experience.
Excellent food, Super friendly staff, extremely reasonable prices, and a chill atmosphere. My wifes and my new favorite place to eat. The beer and mixed drinks were great too.Well definitely be eating (and drinking) here again.
This place is awesome! We had a happy hour reception with a group of about 30-40 people and couldn’t have picked a better spot. The food is great, and the renovation of this space is superb. Beautiful indoors and out. The entire staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We can’t wait to come back.
Very nice clean bar to bad the Bartender is very rudeI ask for a food and drink menu he said go in the back 2 couples came in after me he gave them both a drink menus and a food menus not me at all I ordered a top shelf Paton margarita that should have told Hk take care of this guy not at allFood good I paid 20 for a trio of sauces and don’t have a problem paying that as long as I’m treated kindly the lady that helped me was very nice tipped her 22 percent the food was was great the bartender was to busy restocking stuff figuring out were the bottles of oj went and lined up and couldn’t have been bothered with me asking about food it was apparent when the guest sitting next to me felt the same way although they did get food and drink menu you should not advertise food if your bartender can’t be bothered u are of the only gay bars that offers foodSad and shameful iService he is the worstBartender name on my check was Jeramie I called and ask to have the owner callE back I was ask why???Very sad !!!Avoid at all costAfter speaking to locals they said they treat everyone like this sad and shameful the owner did not return my call or have any concerns
Unlike every other gay bar in New Orleans, this place is not a dive. It’s also has the most mixed crowd of any of the bars: gay, straight, younger, older, etc. Newly renovated building in the French Quarter with a beautiful courtyard in back and view of Armstrong Park out front, American Townhouse also boasts a full and varied food menu that includes vegan and vegetarian options but also the usual pub fare (burgers and tacos). The food is well prepared and the bar has a good selection of beers and wines on tap. We’re locals and this place has become out go-to hangout thanks to the varied indoor/outdoor spaces and food options.
Best meal and margarita I’ve had in NOLA by far and all set in a quaint garden with great music. What’s not to like? I’ll be back.
Nachos werent good. Taco Bell has betrer ones.. They mixed up our order and gave us someone elses burger. Didnt get our lemonade. Way to expensive for what you get.
Took over a half hour to make our food, the chicken waffles were burnt on the underside, quesadillas were poorly made, and the mac and cheese was soggy AF. Not a bad vibe for a place, but the food is sh!t.
Great place! We stopped for lunch & classic NOLA cocktails. The food was tasty as were the drinks.Lots of veggie options on the menu. 😁 You can sub Impossible meat for most proteins (+$5 upcharge).
Great little bar. Food was fantastic but simple bar food. The portions were big for a good price. The pork cracklins were great. The service was fantastic. The bar tenders were friendly and personable and the kitchen staff was a delight. The bar tender even wrote out a list of other food joints near by.
6-star review! We are visiting from out of town and after a few days of po boys and seafood, we wanted something different. We ordered Take Out because our kids were tired so we sadly didn’t get to enjoy the venue. At our AirBnB we open our boxes, take our first bites, and all is silent except for “Oh WOW!” from each of us, over and over. The food was AMAZING! Everything we ordered was delicious! Everything! The slow heat of the sweet chicken tenders mixed with an amazing dill dipping sauce, the loaded waffle fries that taste like a pile of warm hugs, the savory combination of the island chicken sandwich, and the duck and bacon wontons were gone before I could blink! (Luckily, I grabbed my wonton and ran out of the room before it could be stolen from me!) We WILL be back before our stay in New Orleans is complete.
Worker in the food area could speak, was drawing on a tip cup instead of engaging with us, and ultimately couldn’t get either of our credit cards to work even though they worked in the front bar. We had to leave and go get cash and then come back. Food was good, only thing I didn’t care for was the guacamole. Could benefit from a server/host during peak time to explain the concept of food window in the back, because it wasn’t clear walking in.
Great people and the food was great! I had the duck wontons and the pulled pork sandwich. They were both delicious! Wish I would have found them sooner...
As much as I love New Orleans food it can be a challenge to find anywhere that doesnt have mostly fried food on the menu. Stopped here on a whim after drinking at Bar Toniqur and got the Kale Caesar salad with chicken. Loved it! Light but very flavorful with well seasoned chicken. Without question this place has the BEST BLOODY MARY in NOLA with your choice or cucumber/pickle juice. Personally speaking a cucumber Bloody Mary is right up my alley and it was sooo good. Super refreshing and the best hangover cure. Great bartenders, service with a very relaxed but upscale vibe. Would highly recommend and will definitely revisit upon my next visit.
I like it. A charming small bar/bistro with outstanding food. Anything fried will come to your table hot enough to classify as a weapon. Friendly food staff. Quick and efficient.
Phenomenal service and great food and beautiful atmosphere. This should be the standard for gay bars. You have to try the frozen Irish Coffee/Cafe au lait
Gorgeous bar and lovely patio area! Highly recommend! Great food and lovely staff too!
Food is delicious, great martinis, and very friendly and personable bartenders, highly recommend!
Waited 50 minutes for the food… never got it! Prepared food for all the other table besides us!
The service was fast and courteous. Music was good. And the ambient vibe was overall youthful fun and welcoming.
The shrimp tacos were the best thing I ate in NOLA. Get them. Love this place.
Love the location. The Asian chix salad was great and the bartender very cute and helpful
Best service ever!!! Food is delicious !! Try the shrimp tacos and the egg rolls!!! ❤️❤️
Interesting place. Super clean. Food was good. Original menu items.
The restaurant was very clean! The food was so delicious and the staff was very friendly.
