Had a great experience here when visiting from out of town. Martha did a wonderful job of getting rid of the painful knots I had in my neck and shoulder. My 60 minute massage was just what I needed. My experience was pleasant until new people starting working front desk. High turn over rate and management really sucks. They do not care if someone dies or anything, they are just worrying about getting paid. I have a lot of services that I want to get rid of to cancel my member ASAP but they only give you 60 days to use them. The problem is you can only give away 1 service a month so thats how they keep you lock in. I have challenged management about their cancel policy and you get a unprofessional email response. Unfortunately, this location is the closet to me, if I could transfer to another location I would do in a heart beat. Whatever happed to the customer is right, not anymore at this location, its about money. Worst decision I could have ever made, getting a contract with this company.Unhappy

This was supposed to be a place for relaxation but has left me highly stressed out. My mother and Sister are members at this place (not any more after this) so I went to try it out and schedule an appointment, I was really tired, I’ve been working too Much and needed some relaxation. It was a Saturday and schedule for Monday 3pm. Sunday evening I realized I was going to have an unexpected meeting and was not going to be able to make it, so I called on business hours a few times on Sunday and nobody answer. I said well, I’ll call tomorrow then, and I did first thing in the morning. They said they will cancel my appointment but will keep the 120$. For which I was extremely surprised, I never heard about such policy, and if there was they surely should had pointed it out very well before letting you put your credit card in. I would have definitely make an extra effort on Sunday if I would have known. Anyway, We tried my sister or mother to use my hour, but they said no, I even tried to make it to my appointment, but they say no neither ,because it was already canceled, I said can I reschedule, they say no, unless I paid extra 120$. So, no service, lot of stress, not even a inch of empathy or respect, both from the front desk person and manager Ashley. Super rude and unwilling to look for any type of solution. They didn’t even cared about loosing 3 costumers . 2 of which have been faithfully coming for a long time. So now, very stressed and with 120$ less.

I was offered and accepted a monthly membership while out of it after a great massage. I accepted after confirming I could use my membership anywhere and cancel easily. later when I tried to cancel my membership I found out I wasnt able for a year. Ive kept it, though not able to use it every month because Im a full time traveler. Now that Im trying to cancel, over a year later, they cant do it over the phone or email me the form. instead Im told Ill have to contact corporate by email. I asked to have corporates email sent to me by email, and she was not able to. Terrible customer service, unspecified terms of the contract, and exploitative sales. The therapists are great, so its a shame they are attached to massage envy.

The place is clean and staff is very nice! Just a little disappointed because they tell you to get there 15 mins early to accommodate getting undressed. Didn’t go in to my massage until 5 minutes after the set appointment time and the therapist ended my massage 10 mins before the full hour. Nice place but disappointed with the timing of things

I’ve been going since January and am usually extremely satisfied with the service and the massages. However, I had an appointment this afternoon and unfortunately while walking my dog this morning I slipped and fell and busted my knee snd dislocated a finger. I called to cancel the appointment as I wouldn’t be able to lay face down on the table and they told me I would still be charged for my appointment! I have a membership so it’s not like they would not be getting their $60- I just needed another day. I just feel like this is insulting and extremely poor customer service. I understand the need to cancel within 24 hours but life happens sometimes.

I must say I understand that each spa is run differently being that it is a franchise but I went this weekend for some much needed me time and it was mediocre at best. I was so disappointed from start to finish. I was placed in their “quite room/ waiting area with about iPad to fill out some documents immediately. Within moments I could hear conversations from the front desk about the previous night’s partying. It was my first time there so I did not know their process. I waited for someone to tell me about their add-ons but no one ever came. The massage therapist came and showed me to the room so I told her I was interested in some of their enhancements I saw online. (I did my own research when I realized no one was coming to discuss anything with me). She was apologetic that it was not discussed upfront and explained that she could not fully accommodate my request because it used extra towels. I was understanding but disappointed because I was there close to opening so it seemed they should have had supplies. Now the massage never felt like it got going. I enjoy massages as my preferred way to relax. I go at least monthly to another spa near my home but made this exception since I had a gift card. I would compare the massage to an unenthusiastic at home massage from my partner when he is exhausted. Until this experience I’ve never gotten off of a table feeling like I need a massage. I’m glad it was mostly covered with a gift card but still a lousy experience and I will likely not go back nor could I recommend them to anyone.

Luckily Maria was great with her services...otherwise my entire experience would be a wash. I will not visit this place again. Did a 60 minute customized facial here yesterday. Pretty disappointed. What was customized about it wasnt apparent. She didnt even do a mask. Plus, I was quoted a price of $50 when I booked it but charged $70. Not worth it. I couldve gotten more for less somewhere else. Or I couldve stayed home, kept money, and massaged oil into my own face myself thank you very much.

Ive been a member since January 2020, and also worked at a different Massage Envy location many years ago. Last week, I had scheduled two back-to-back 1-hour appointments so that I could use 2 of my prepaid massage credits (I have accumulated 8 this year due to COVID). When I arrived for my appointment today, the manager (Ashley Chandler?) checked me in, and informed me that I was only scheduled for one 1-hr massage. I was confused and explained to her that I had booked 2 in hopes of using up my credits in as few trips as possible... I had assumed she just didnt see the 2nd appointment. She explained that M.E. does not offer 2-hour massages; I was confused because I had received a 2-hr massage earlier this year at a Baton Rouge location, and I also mentioned that 2-hr massages were offered when I worked for M.E. many years ago (at a different location). She then proceeded to ask me multiple times if Id like her to just cancel the appointment. Of course I would not – I planned my day around this appointment. I made special arrangements with my sons childcare so that I could fit this into my schedule. I asked Ashley if she could show me the policy that states that members cant book two back-to-back appointments. She became irritated, and stated that she knows the policies better than me because shes the manager and has been with the company for 11 years. I never claimed to know the policies – I was just asking for clarification in hopes that shed help me find a solution that would allow me to consolidate my remaining prepaids to as few trips as possible so that I can continue my membership because it is hard for me to get childcare for my 2-yr-old at this time. I declined her repeated offers to cancel my appointment, and expressed to her how disappointed I was in her customer service.The actual massage was wonderful. I was looking forward to scheduling many more appointments with Brandon, and raving to all of my friends about how great he was. When I returned to the register after my massage, Ashley was still there as well as another employee. I could sense Ashley was irritated, so I kept my distance and chose to leave my tip for Brandon with the other employee. While waiting for the credit card to process, I asked the 2nd employee if Brandon had any other openings later today since Id already paid for my son to be in childcare for the day – it wouldve been nice to just use up 2 prepaids in one day. This seems to have upset Ashley, and I was told that members cant book multiple services on the same day. I expressed to Ashley that I felt that we had gotten off on the wrong foot somehow, and I apologized if I had somehow offended her. I explained that I was planning on returning at least 7 more times to use up the rest of my prepaid massages with Brandon. Ashley then informed me that I would not be returning because I was no longer welcomed at this location, that the conversation was over, and that I should leave because she would no longer engage in conversation with me.So now I have 7 unused prepaid massages, and am banned from my nearest location.

Ive been coming here for almost a year now. I originally was going to the westbank location (recently closed) and moved my membership over to Tchoupitoulas. I even followed my massage therapist Martha over when she moved (shes the best!). The location is nice and bright and clean and Ive found everyone at the front desk friendly and super easy to deal with. I love that they have hours after work so I dont have to sacrifice my weekend!

I purchased a $180 gift card during holiday season. Uses it once w/ my Sister-friend who was in town from South Africa. As we were talking, I was fast talked into my gift card turning into a membership for 3 months. Having a busy schedule serving youth. I was looking forward to enjoying s much needed facial & massage. Only to be informed I was a few days late on the membership & lost the remainder of my $130 credit. They saw in the computer where I had purchased a gift card & REFUSED to honor it as such. The customer service was HORRIBLE & did NOTHING to accommodate me as a customer that had paid for a gift card. I will NEVER...NEVER....NEVER give Massage Envy one cent of my money or take anyone I know there EVER!

Today I was handled very poorly by one of you associates by the name of Ashely (property manager) Upon arrival, Ashely was sitting in the lobby area on her personal cell phone. She walked behind the counter and she watched me walk up to the door and she stood behind the counter for a few seconds before she open the door. When Ashley finally came to the door, she didn’t great me at all. She told me “before you come in, I need you to pull your mask over your nose.” ( my mask slipped down when I put my glasses back on. ) I said Oops I’m so sorry it slipped down once I put on my glasses. Ashley proceeded to say have a seat in the white chair. She never said Good morning at all so I said, well good morning my name is RoShawn and I have an 11 o’clock appointment. Ashely asked me do we have a problem, I told her no, but I’m greeting you because you never greeted me and I found that to be very unprofessional. Ashely proceeds to tell me “You know what your appointment is cancelled.” I asked her why?, Ashely stated that my demeanor was rude. I told Ashely your energy was rude from the start. (I was the phone with my sister with my AirPod in one ear and she heard the entire conversation). I said if my appointment is canceled, please give me some sort of documentation stated it canceled so my card with not be charged. Ashely told me, “your little card will not me charge.”I own three businesses in the city and I would not treat any customers this way. Ashely didn’t want me to come in from the start because I’m a BLACK WOMAN with Locs and she judged me from the start. I will tell my fellow black own business owners and friends to not patronize this location. Something will be done about this.

I wish I could give a review based on their massage services but I cant get them on the phone to even make an appointment. We are in New Orleans from out of town for our anniversary and I wanted to send my husband for a relaxing massage. We went to their website 9/2 and filled out the Request an Appointment around 5:30pm and it said we would be receiving a phone call soon. When our flight landed in New Orleans around 7:15pm we had yet to get a call, but since we were unavailable on a flight we thought no problem. We called the number twice and no-one answered the phone leaving 1 message to try and get call back. On 9/3 at around 7pm I sent a message on Facebook messenger explaining how we had tried contacting them to make appointment, that message was received, read without a response. As of now 9/4 at 9:15am we have yet to be able to get in touch with this business and will take our business elsewhere. Ive never had an issue of a business ignoring requests like this.***update*** we DID fill out the form on the online portal...2 days ago before this response was posted and still no response. Unbelievable!!

Absolutely the WORST customer service ever. Tried to redeem a $125 gift certificate that was given as a birthday gift but actual gift certificate was destroyed in a recent car accident. At first I was told that although I was in their system as redeeming part of the certificate, the first $50 - that unless I had the actual gift certificate or at least the # of the gift certicate, then I would not be able to redeem the remaining $75. After getting the gift certificate # from the friend that gave me the present, the receptionist then changes her story and refuses to accept the remaining $75 unless I had the actual gift certificate (which was explained was destroyed). This entire operation is a Total Scam. 1st massage experience was ruined by a constant barrage of trying to sell me a membership - which I told them numerous times I did not want. And then having to be rudely treated when trying to redeem a PREPAID service is unacceptable. You are better off going to the DMV and would have a more enjoyable experience than dealing with these donkeys.

I wish I could say good things. My last store in California was incredible. My appointments are never kept and the two therapists that knew what they were doing left. I found out what the masseuses are paid and it is completely wrong how much corporate takes from them. To make it worse, I filed paperwork to transfer my membership twice and there is no follow through. It is not a good idea to go here. I reccommend supporting the local therapists where they are reimbursed appropriately for the wonderful work they do.

Too bad the customer service has gone to absolute crap at this location because my therapist is great. I will now only use the Kenner location. Twice in the past these people have mischarged my bank account and then also this week. Today, someone named Victor got a really nasty tone with me on the phone and I was told that they had refunded my account the day before it posted to my account. I have experience in customer service and setting credit card batches and it doesnt actually work this way. Pending charges fall off when you refund them, they do not post!! I talked to a manager who told me she had done all she could do, how about giving me somebodys number who can actually help me. I talked to my bank and they basically called this manager a liar. I cannot wait to get home and cancel my almost 3 years membership!

I went there today for a massage for a deep tissue massage, since Ive been sore after a back surgery about a month ago. I explained that it was a little tender around the incision but otherwise possible to get a normal massage I got a therapist named Rae. At the start of the massage she was massaging my arm, I asked her politely if she could use a bit more pressure and she refused, saying Um, you just had surgery so Im going to put as much pressure as your muscles tell me to. Seemed to me like it was just an excuse to not put any effort into the massage, and that about was the way it was for a whole hour. Terrible experience, it was like I was massaged a robot with no care at all. I cant speak to the skill of the rest of the therapists, and the people at the front desk seemed very nice, but Rae was horrible.

I love this place! It makes you make time for yourself. The facility is super clean and relaxing. They use Murad products which I love! The shop in the front has amazing products to take home. I get a deep tissue massage now about once every two weeks. I rarely ever got massages before. This is so affordable-- and these days everyone needs to take the edge off a little. The team at the Tchopitoulas branch is great!!I would certainly recommend it to anyone.

The membership is not worth it and nearly impossible to get out of if you decide you cant find the time in your schedule anymore. It is true that any unused massage credits left at the end of your contract will have to be used up within a month or you lose all of that money. Most of my massages were mediocre at best. The customer service at the Tchoupitoulas location is awful. Dont waste your time or money. I wish I hadnt.

I was told I could ask the hiring manager any questions I had. Well before I graduate plenty of Massage Envy Therapist came to my school of course, I had alot of questions. I asked about pay and how everything worked. Well I asked the manager that I just had a question , but it has come to my attention that im getting paid less then therapist with my same experience and I just wanted to know why. Everything went down hill after that!!! She basically told me they no longer need my service and she dont feel comfortable hiring me any more. I was outrage,hurt, and shock. I didnt even work on a client. And was already fired!! Just because I advocated for myself. Now Louisiana Law states I have every rite to ask about my pay but still I was let go. Its crazy because we all was told dont go to Envy they dont treat their employees rite. I still gave them a chance and look at me. All I can say is lead therapist Robert is wonderful. Thats the only great thing I have to say. They say its a shortage of therapist and I see why. We pay 16,000 for school why would we except basically fast food pay!!! It was inexcusable the way I was treated. Sorry if my message is all over the place. But its still a shock to me!!!

I have NEVER in my life, EVER experienced such disrespect, aggression, and ego from a front desk personnel at ANY massage envy ever! Mind you, I’ve been a member for over 10 years! AND I LOVE MASSAGE ENVY... up until today. This young blond girl, who behaved irate, irrational and of course, refused to give us her name, cancelled not 1 but 2 massages for 2 hours upon our arrival... it’s shocking! I cannot imagine why this bitter little girl, would take Business away from 2 therapists and place a bad name on massage envy! It’s beyond me. Not to mention, the manager was on the phone refusing to speak to us while security was called by this little girl. All I can say is karma. That’s really, all I can say. Oh and there was a witness and a camera (which I hope has audio bc if it does, that Girl is fired) to how I handled it... bc I could’ve stooped down to her level, but it’s a new year, so maybe it’s time to move on to better places for massages. 1 person ruins it for everyone. :(

I have had lower and upper back pain for years and have been going to the chiropractor pretty regularly. My chiropractor suggested using massage therapy to help with the pain and i tried massage envy spa on tckoupitoulas street. I had been pretty skeptical about massage therapy, but I felt great after my visit here. I had zeb for massage therapist and he not only gave me a fabulous massage, he gave me insight to how I can prevent the pain as well. great experience, I will definatly be going back.
