Overall a good place for karaoke. What’s great is that they have self-directed karaoke before the DJ gets there. You can sign up for songs on your phone. The atmosphere was great. The only food they have is chips though. Everything is cute, would come back again.

Ive come here a number of times before and have always had a good time, but recently one of the employees was rude and condescending to my group and really rubbed us the wrong way.It was some of my groups first time visiting, so some of my group had mistakenly brought in water cups from the nearby Starbucks without being aware it was against the policy. Instead of kindly letting us know the policy so we could throw them away ourselves or finish them quickly, the employee immediately brought over a trash can and started grabbing and tossing our cups without warning, crudely saying This isnt allowed, this isnt allowed.On top of that, as we were expressing we didnt know and understood, he said something to the liking of I get it, you guys are young. You guys are babies compared to me.Just because our group is somewhat younger doesnt mean you can call us babies and treat us as though were children. We left soon after that, as it had completely ruined our mood. Rude and arrogant, discouraging of our demographic visiting the RetroRoom.Im remorseful and disappointed since this was a good spot I was recommending to this group for a while (we all enjoy music and singing). We wont be coming back unless its a different employee working the night we visit again. Please do better.

We chose this spot to celebrate a friends birthday. It would of been a great experience if the karaoke dj wasnt so condescending. We watched 4 parties up and leave before we finally did due to his unfair singer queue. He promoted bad business, made the environment awkward with his snarky remarks, and pressured us to order drinks even when majority of us werent singing. My friends and I left feeling punished and disappointed.

I wish I could give this place a better review—the bartender (Britt, I think?) was great, the vibe was cool, but the KJ really ruined our night.I was with a group visiting for my friend’s birthday. Not everyone wanted to drink, but a few of us did, and we followed the one drink minimum to song karaoke rule. The KJ walked over to stare at us and pressure us into drinking more multiple times over the 2 hours we spent there.The KJ wasn’t playing songs in the order they were requested. I have no idea what logic he was following. My friend waited over an hour to sing (I joined the queue right after her, but somehow sang way before her), and when the KJ finally played her song, he had turned her mic down for no reason. When another patron called that her mic wasn’t on, he yelled “it’s on, just can’t hear it over you” in the middle of my friend’s song. This upset the patron and they started to get into it, which upset my friend, so we left, and the KJ heckled us for leaving in the middle of the song.Unless they hire someone else to run karaoke, I wouldn’t come back.

If you are a singer, the quality of the equipment is not the best, and vocals were dry without reverb, and the KJ did not know how to adjust. That being said, the vibe and spot are absolutely worth stopping in for, and its generally not too packed. Also tons of talent from the area.

Bartender is a very rude person, is a woman not polite at all, owner is a nice person. Sometimes, the place is overcrowded,no bathroom in place. You have to go out of the place and use the general restroom of the building usually not clean.

I was there yesterday. This is a very nice place forKaraoke. Nice people were gathering and a niceatmosphere.

Concern with the wait, specifically that we noticed there were groups who just entered who were already being serviced to. Upon bringing up these concerns, the karaoke lady asked how long we were waiting, and my partner told her we had been waiting approximately 2 hours. About 30 minutes later, I asked her if we could have an update on our time. She mockingly asked “are you with Tyler?” I responded yes, and that we have been patiently waiting for about 3 hours and that we noticed some other people who entered later than us have already had one, two, or more opportunities to sing. She then proceeded to laugh at me and imply that I was exaggerating how long we were waiting. I am a patient person, but the blatant disrespect and aggressive tone was extremely disorienting and uncalled for. We ended up leaving embarrassed, as this transpired amidst the entire bar and we paid and left. I will say, this was an incredibly terrible experience which we experienced. I hope everyone considers before spending a dime here. I would strongly encourage that others patronize the other amazing bars in the area. DO NOT waste your time or money here.

My friends and I have been to the retro lounge numerous times over the years when visiting Palm Springs. My wife and I also had our wedding party there. We love this place! Guaranteed good time! The karaoke is top notch too with good equipment. Everyone there including Laurie are the nicest people!

Best chocolate martini in Palm Springs, maybe even all of California! Karaoke is a blast to watch and the general feel of this place is great! We were visiting from out of town and specifically sight this place out, its a must visit!!

It was karaoke night. Some good performers and some not so good but good time over all.

This was my first time at a karaoke bar and it was a super let down. The host was super rude. I had no idea I wasn’t supposed to tap my palm against the mic, I was doing so to hype the next singer up, and he said “never do that ever again” and I apologized and he was very unprofessional about handling that situation. It was very upsetting. I’m from out of town and won’t be coming back and won’t recommend this to anyone else.

We came in as a bachelorette party ready to have a good time. When we started turning in song requests the DJ asked us repeatedly “are you even drinking?”…we came in drunk ready to party and bought a tray of shots for the whole group (11+) right away and requested several current fun songs to sing. after 1.5 hours one of our girls was finally called but the mic volume seemed to be much quieter than it was for the “oldies” music and singers they seemed to be catering to. Ultimately we left because the vibe was just kind of a downer and they were heckling us about buying drinks (which we were doing..and we would have done more of had the atmosphere been better) Probably wouldn’t come here again. They are counter productive in the way they handle their clientele and music requests. Disappointed patron.

I give this place a three star rating because we just went in for karaoke and when we tried to leave we were actually locked in and had to wait to be unlocked and let out. The karaoke was nice, a bit small location but the vibe was unique. The small atmosphere made it kinda cozy and everyone was pretty chill. However it seems like its a safety feature to be locked inside? It was the only door in or out, and for it to be locked during business hours just made me very uncomfortable. We went in around 6pm and left around 850pm. Im not sure what the rules are but it doesnt seem safe to lock guests inside.

We came across this bar during a week visit to Palm Springs. Fun bar with a mix of locals, tourist and birthday parties. The karaoke maching was pumping, everyone having fun and good conversations. Drinks were good, but downside they only offer bags of chips for food.

Waited 2+ hours for karaoke… never got to sing, but watched lots of people come and go. One of the people who went before us said they were only there 20 minutes before singing.

Best Karaoke Bar in Palm Springs!This place is small and the lyric screens are in strange locations, but everyone here is so supportive and friendly. We spent four nights at the Retro Room and every night was a blast. Bartender, Cowboy Steve is awesome! He made the place even more fun. Excellent service and personality. The KJ’s were good also and owner is very accommodating. If you’re looking for an entertaining night and listening to some good singers, hit the Retro Room.

The service is terrible. The drinks are bad. The only thing it has going for it is that it has karaoke. They served us a drink and then immediately closed early before letting us finish the drinks. Super rude.

Wow wow what a great Piece of Heaven everybody was so friendly and accommodating. The bartender is top-notch super friendly fun made us feel extremely comfortable. The owner and the person who works the door always had a welcoming smile made you feel like family. Anorexia oh my God what an amazing performer. And Im saving the best for last which is Miss Diva wow wow wow beautiful talented very kind-hearted I wish I didnt say in LA so I can watch their show every week. If youre looking for a fun and entertaining place to go to please stop here you wont be disappointed

So fun!My husband and I were tooling around downtown and came in for the tail end of happy hour and the start of karaoke. Bartender Steve and KJ Dionne were FANTASTIC. Excellent service all around. We will be back for sure ❤️❤️❤️

Went in for the first time due to seeing the karaoke sign went in. There were not too many people so I went to the DJ for a song request in which he exclaimed theres a real long wait but that tip jar will help you out. Really? I just walked in and theyre already trying to hustle? Maybe theres a reason there was only a 5 in his jar...

We stopped here on my bachelorette party and had a blast! Everyone in the bar was so welcoming and the karaoke set up was perfect. Highly recommend stopping here on a night out!

Your bartender Steve is the best. He first pulled us in from the sidewalk a year ago and since then, its the only bar we go to. We love him..he is personable, friendly, professional, lots of fun and makes us feel right at home. We call him our cowboy. Steve treats your customers like they are his own. You should be quite proud and ecstatic to have him working there. See ya soon Cowboy Steve!!!

We were Bamboozled!Went in for a cocktail the other night with a friend. Made the order with the bartender and the drink seemed to lack. Another patron warned us they he didn’t see any alcohol poured into the drink. After a few sips we both realized it was juice and water. The patron had an similar experience. Glad he was watching out for us. Shame on this establishment.

CAUTION: Pay attention when ordering alcoholic beverages! They will charge you for your drink and fake pour the liquor if you are not paying attention!! Myself and a friend went into the RetroRoom Lounge for a nightcap and ordered/ paid for an Old Fashion. The bartender working the evening of Aug 2nd, 2021 fake poured the alcohol in both of our drinks thinking we wouldn’t recognize it. Of course, we both immediately recognized, and what we saw was confirmed by another customer at the bar who had the same thing happen to her! Before our arrival, she ordered and paid for a Malibu cocktail which ended up being all juice. However, because she didn’t catch him in the act she was not refunded or made a new drink. Luckily my friend and I caught the sneaky bartender in the act and his hand was forced to make us a proper drink. He had no excuse for his actions and simply made us a new drink. WHO KNOWS HOW OFTEN THIS HAPPENS.

I was so disappointed that I was made to feel the way I did last night, 4/3/22. My wife and I having had many great experiences in this place, I could not believe the way I was treated. I regret every penny that Ive spent with them. If you are non white, dont go. Im not a person that defaults to thinking about race. I didnt even realize that it was happening until I was apologizing after having done nothing but be a patron. Just my opinion, take it for just that.

Im a straight fella whos secure in his masculinity and I also love to sing karaoke. My girlfriend and I have stopped in here many times and always had a blast. The staff and customers are very welcoming. Love this bar.

We went here this past weekend with a group of 7 for my bachelorette party. It was really fun & they had our table ready. Be prepared, you are SQUEEZED into the tables and getting out is almost comical if they are full (it looks like most Saturday nights they are). Its also hard to see from the tables in the back (that arent bar height). I had read reviews prior online, so I expected all of these things. We were all drinking too, so none of that bothered us. The bathrooms are horrific & scary, so avoid them if you can! To be fair, they arent the Retro Rooms specifically, they look like they serve a couple places surrounding. 3 of the toilets didnt flush, 2 were 100% out of toilet paper, and they were SO hot & humid for some reason? The drag show was really fun & was a good time!

Is the most fun Ive had in years. The karaoke was awesome. The KJ and bartender were Incredible. The clientele was an extremely fun exciting crowd. perfect dive bar. Wish I owned it. My new favorite place.

Ownership needs to hire one or two additional bartenders / barbacks. I visited for St. Patricks Day - totally packed, one overworked bartender. Totally unfair. Otherwise a fun time.

I stopped in 2 yrs ago and it is a must every time we are in town. All the staff especially Stephen are more than welcoming. Drinks are great and servoce is fast. The shows are awesome!! Its always a fabulous night!

Love the RetroRoom!!! Cowboy Stephen is by far the friendliest bartender in town. The moment you walk into the bar, he greets you with a HUGE smile, and a big ole Howdy, Hello.Not only is Stephen a very good bartender, serving up generously portioned drinks, but he doubles as your waiter as well. He is not afraid to get out from behind the bar and take your drink orders right at your table.From what Ive seen, the RetroRoom is working hard at becoming your new spot for drinks and entertainment in downtown Palm Springs. Theyve been featuring some of the Coachella Valleys most talented and fun entertainers on Friday and Saturday nights.So, I suggest you give the RetroRoom a try. I guarantee youll leave with a smile on your face.

Im a huge fan of those bars where its small, intimate and fun environment. I have been a passerby in many cities and I always love those type places that draw you into a intimate fun environment. Retro Room is just such a place. As an artist I have had several marvelous evenings of artistic connection here between audience and performer. I look forward to many more and all fellow performers in this jewel of Palm Springs.

Ive been to the retro room several times over last couple years. Pretty much every tIme Im in Palm Springs. This time I was in charge of my girlfriends bachelorette party. 8 of us booked our time and it was amazing as I expected! The bachelorette and the rest of us were treated like regulars at the bar! Cowboy Steve is my absolute favorite!

The first time we walked into Retro Room Lounge, the first bartender we met was Cowboy Steve. Boy, does he get a party started in zero seconds and with his experience, he can make any drink you ask for! Weather the Retro Room full of strangers and well wishers or just my husband and I enjoying a relaxing drink, Cowboy makes you feel at home and like youve known him all your life. We cannot leave the Retro Room without a smile on our face! See you soon!

Had a fun end of night cocktail or two listening to drunk brides-to-be sign karaoke. Staff were very friendly and service was great. Reasonable prices.

I never write reviews but my experience here was not the best. Getting up and singing is a very vulnerable experience and the dj made us feel stupid for every choice we made. He even went out of his way to pick songs for us to try and embarrass us. Other then that we would have fun but the dj ruined it for us. I will never go back

My girlfriend and I stopped in while we were walking the street fair and the bartender Thadius, he was such a gentleman and was sooo attentive to us and our needs. Great drinks, great service, and great atmosphere. I highly recommend coming in and having a few drinks.

First timer here (Sunday 11th) had such a great time, our songs on the jukebox came on in a timely manner.The drinks were smooth, thank you Brad(Brad was our handsom bartender, a Texas native)He also held a great conversation during his down time. Definitely should of spent our Saturday night here.

The alley to the bathroom smelled horribly of urine. So much so than when someone went they brought the smell back with them. Not sure if its the norm but they charge $6 for a a bottle of bud light. Price for draft was the same which seemed odd to me. KJ and bartender were super friendly.

Best place ever. The owner is the best she needs an award to show other bars how it is done . karaoke bar at its finest. It is my second home. The only real karaoke bar in the coachella valley.

A common theme behind discovering what my favorite bars and drinks are is that I just happen to stumble upon them by accident. The No1DP and friend/fellow Yelper Aren A. stumbled across this bar as the bar we originally planned to go wouldnt open until later. We also had time to kill until dinner.

Five of us stopped in for drinks, place was quiet, we’re all late 30s/early 40s , since one of us forgot our ID not only would they not serve us, they kicked us out!
