DJ shamed some poor women at Karaoke night!!Heard great things and was excited to go.I was talking to this nice couple visiting from out of town. The woman was shy about submitting a song and asked her partner to do it for her.The DJ was really rude to her partner and said the woman can do it herself (which is not great- but fine) but then the DJ chose to SHAME her over the mic.He made an announcement that we were all big kids and that not submitting your own song was childish. Not upset about the rule, but to make someone feel unwelcome and shaming them seemed unnecessary.I hope that this a one off incident and that they treat people with more compassion in the future.
My partner loves it here and we will be back. Its not my cup of tea personally (I like ones with more men haha) but it was clean, safe, very busy, and staff were friendly. The drinks were great too. I also liked the fact there were multiple rooms to hang out in depending on how loud/busy you like it.I read through the reviews and cant agree with any of the negative feedback thats been given.
This is a great little gay bar. It used to be almost exclusively, bear oriented, but in the past few years has taken on many different faces.Warning: If you’re not into drag, call first, because there’s a chance it could be happening any night.Karaoke by regular DJs is great. Every single person on the staff is friendly and helpful. Great prices, drink features, happy hour, and various parties and events. And about nce a month you can let it all out and sing. IYKYK.
This bar kicked us out just bc my friend was sick we were already on our way out and our Uber was 2 mins away when they kicked us out and told us we needed to leave, even tho we were very friendly and still left tips for everyone, it was 1 in the morning and putting 2 girls outside in the streets of Pittsburgh was very unthoughtful of them when we had told we were leaving anyway and didn’t want to cause them any issues or inconveniences
240 days relocated to the PGH area, it is currently my beverage stop of choice. Nothing extravagant or pretentious, just a good ole feeling of being home style. Service is good, portions are fair, the crowd is friendly, the staff is friendlier.Im going tomorrow, hope to see you...
Great fun atmosphere. The music and the drinks are great. Make sure you don’t miss Jellyfish on Fridays, the music is particularly good at events.
The best hardworking drag queens that Pittsburgh has to offer will take you away from your everyday routine. And the best bartenders that will serve you anything your drink list desires. Come unwind and meet local men and women in the area. Come get entertained!!!#pittsburgh #pride🌈 #pitt #pitbullsofinstagram #pittstop #pittsburghdragqueen #gaysingle #gaymen #pittsburghstop #pittsburghdrinks #pittburghartist #pittsburghdestination
They dont serve food that I know of. A nice place to go on Thursday and Sunday for Kareoke. The staff is friendly and they have many other events too. It is nice when they have events in the alley and put up another bar to be like a dance club.
Ablist. Not inclusive. Drinks are good depending on which bartender you get.
10 dollars cover not including the drink. But the vibe is great, very diverse. And the staffs are helpful. Yet the cover can only paid by cash, make a note.
Great Bar! I was here to perform, and the atmosphere was great. I would say they should invest in a more comfy, inviting dressing room for performers. It was quite cramped and kind of dirty.
Not friendly to outsidersI was in the area temporarily for a few weeks, and tried visiting P town a few times. The only time I had a decent experience was the first day when I met a local and chatted for a few hours after which the bartender got noticeably nicer to me (though to be fair compared the other times Ive been there he was pretty chill the whole time). The other 3-4 times Ive been there the bartenders have ranged from rude to openly hostile. Deliberately passing me over and making me wait 10+ minutes to be served to attend to locals (when not busy). The underpouring is egregious, though reading the other reviews maybe they do that to everybody. After getting a super weak single I ordered a double (on rocks) that was legitimately less than a single anywhere else Ive been. I have traveled a lot throughout the US and across several continents, and I have had experiences where bartenders have been indifferent towards me or suspicious of me, but P town is on a very short list of places where I felt actively unwelcome. Not being a local is the only reason I can think of - I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt which seemed to fit the vibe, Im friendly, quiet, and polite, and I could see the preferential treatment happening. I gave P town one more try on a Monday night, it was quiet, I went and sat at the bar and watched the bar tender repeatedly attend to everyone else, do other tasks, etc, (and she made eye contact with me a few times so she knew I was there) and after about 10 minutes I finally decided I was done trying to make this place work and got up to leave. As I was leaving, the bartender yelled out Hey did you need anything? And I literally just waved and said No thanks Im good, to which she screamed across the bar WELL BYEEEE in a mocking tone. Seriously unreal, I feel like Im in some caricature of a locals bar. Never again.
If youre going to have a nude event where everyone has to be naked. How about having a doorman that actually explains what is going on! We are from Florida and a naked karaoke sign doesnt make sense when this is not a normal thing in other states .Bartenders were extremely nice and so was everyone there. But wont be back.
The staff is more than welcoming and accommodating; their charisma is above other local, gay bars and I will not stop coming back!!
Something different for the LGBTQ+ & Straight communities. Every night of the week theres a super-welcoming environment for everyone with a judgement-free atmosphere dedicated to enjoying the time spent with each other in a diverse & accepting environment. Something for Everyone!!!
Beautiful and genial guys having fun, hot bartenders outrageous drag queens(one kissed me)...whats not to like and can we talk about the generous pours! Had a great time on a Tuesday night.
I enjoy going to this bar, the staff is friendly and fast, the events are diverse and inclusive. Smoke free with specified smoking section in the rear. Renovated and expanded back section, which makes the bar feel even more comfy. Definitely stop by if youre a fellow member of the LGBT community to enjoy a drink or two.
Special events here are popular and fun-filled. Im a tourist but I will go out of my way to come here. Its even good when its quiet.
Visited for karaoke night when we were in town. Crowd was welcoming and diverse. Service was swift and kind. Cant wait to go back!
I have never take the time to leave a review about anything or anyone on this platform, the bartender at this location is extremely rude and unfriendly the young blond men not only will treat you bad only for being a costumer, he didn’t seem very happy about assisting people that where not his race, very hostile and unwelcome atmosphere the guy was obviously not sober!!!! He was Into some sort of drug that was making act the way that he was I really wish him would look for help and become a better person one day
Fun niche place, newly clean bathroom, cheap good drinks, entertainment, and outdoor space when there is an event (wish it was open anytime it was nice out though)
One of my favorite bars in Pittsburgh! Great weekly events, daily drink specials, as well as amazing and welcoming staff.
Absolutely amazing place, nice bartender, the person on DJ was wonderful and honored requests. When in the open mic everyone was respectful and was sure to let me know I did well. I felt very welcomed
Never a cover. Different events every night. Free parking. Allowed to bring outside food. Big space.
Love it, you want a place to really just chill, have fun and meet good people and just be yourself this is the place.
Its a bar for younger people. I went for the Jellyfish party. If you dont mind waiting in line 35mins for the mens restroom in a cramped hallway, having drinks spilt on you, watching your step all the time due to changes in the floor; wet floors, then this place is for you. There are plenty of hazards at this bar. EVERYTHING is dirty, and you cant get a drink because the lines were too long.
Love the vibe of this bar. I 100 percent recommend for a very fun and low key night out. Great music, great drinks, wonderful entertainment and wonderful employees. Wholeheartedly a very nice gay bar.
Super friendly staff. Loved the open and accepting atmosphere. Really enjoyed the weekly drag show on Monday night! It was my first time seeing a drag show and I just loved the experience!
Had a great time with a couple of friends at an off-time. Played the Ghostbusters pinball game. I didn’t realize it accepted bills so I asked the bartender for $5 in quarters. Duh.
I was here on a couple of occasions to get drinks or a coffee with friends. But the best time I had so far was on Superbowl Sunday in 2015. I wasnt feeling well enough to make the trek to SF and happen to live nearby, so I stopped in for a beer and ended up staying for the whole game. Whats more, the people here were very friendly and jovial and I ended up chatting with quite a few and forgetting that I was miserable earlier that morning. This is totally a neighborhood gem and Im so lucky to live within walking distance.P Town Bar
Neighborhood bar, with good drink selection. The bartender Joe should find new work though, he had a temper tantrum because we were splitting the tip. Only saw the credit tip and not the cash tip so he called us out in front of the whole bar. Needless to say he didnt get the cash tip. Would go back if I knew a different bartender was there.
Visited during Christmas time. Was decorated cute. Bartender acted like we were more of an annoyance coming in. Stood in the corner and smoked his cigarette. Signs of activities were inaccurate. Tonight they were promoting a DJ and Christmas Party....not sure when that was. Disappointing because it could have potential.
Great vibes all around, karaoke was very fun. Can’t wait to go back
Absolutely love coming here especially on Tuesdays and Fridays for the drags shows. Bartenders are so friendly!
The people were nice luv the crowd. The bartender Shawn knows how to make a good drink. But they water down the liquor here too much.
Somehow i always get my drink super quick no matter how busy it is. Those bar tenders are speed demons!
Clean. Amazing service. Friendly bartenders. Great drag show. Theyve got a ghostbusters pinball machine- wife loved it. I’ll be back soon!
Smoker friendly bar. Decent parking situation and usually a fantastic group of eclectic performers on Tuesdays for Moms Basement.( an open stage) the hostesses are fantastic. Blade Matthews and Sonia Maybottom. Lovely bar.
Bartender tried to run my card 2 x for the same 12 dollar order (i had 15 dollars left on a reloadable that I take out instead of my debt card incase I lose it) told me it got declined and then took my friends money for it. Never mind the fact that it was two cheap shots which should have been 6 not 12. Dudes was annoyed and a con
Good vibes but the drink prices are not worth the price.
Really nice bar, lots of space, frequent programming, definitely a nice place to hang out if you’re in that part of Pittsburgh.
If your from Ohio and have your paper ID dont go here they wont take it. Person checking ID will not allow it. He would not even look at it or anything. Forget that place.Ohio temp id cuz ours get mailed to us
Great atmosphere with affordable drinks and fun events especially Bear Night every 4th Saturday
The bar was pretty crowded. The bartenders were very nice. The entertainment was very good 👍.
A good bar! I was there on a karaoke Saturday. The crowd was fun and engaged. Mike at the bar is great!
Good Atmosphere and friendly staff with a good drink. But the crowd could leave more to be desired.... Always feel awkward in places where theres a major generational gap....
Im an out of towner visiting the Pittsburgh area. The patrons as staff all wee very friendly. Was a clean place with everyone being comfortable with everyone. If I get the chance to visit Pittsburgh again Im definitely going to visit this bar.
Local LGBTQ bar, decent service and nice bartenders. Drinks are average price for Pittsburgh. Tend to have variety of events throughout the week. Eddioke - Karioke by local is entertaining. BurghBears - local bear club meets here once a month.
Very welcoming place. Not clicky at all. If I had a complaint it would be the music was so loud you couldn’t hear the person next to you.
Love the back bar. The music and atmosphere is a vibe.
Great drink prices! Friendly bar tenders and clean bathrooms. A second bar was added in the back which makes getting a drink fast and easy.
Went and started a tab they charged my card at $25 hold fee for two drinks and told me the $25 would go back onto the card but they did not know when other than that it’s a great bar but if you go there I highly suggest to pay with cash and don’t open a tab
One of Pittsburghs best kept secrets!!! Great drag shows weekly on Monday nights (#MANICMONDAYS)... Eddie Oke for Karaoke every Thursday and great monthly events! Open 5-2 daily!!! Come join Pittsburghs home town bar!!!
Excellent staff cheap drinks and every Tuesday from 5-7 they have really good and cheap food but with staff amoung their ranks like Michael Mayberry and miley could you see anything else but happening?!
Fun place to go out. Gets a little crowded and hard to move around.
I know the owner whose name is Gary hes a really nice guy always friendly the bar staff I believe in my professional opinion AR awesome
Always a great time there. Drinks are cheap and not watered down.
Nice place with friendly staff and patrons. Downfall for me is the very overly loud sound system on drag nights and the never ending karaoke.
Fun bar!!! I went on the open mic night and it was a lot of fun, would totally come back when in Pitts again
Weird place. Lol. Dont recomend is all. Butttt book us with Loyalty Entertainment!!!! We will give you a show!
I usually have a good experience here. Guess it depends on bartenders. Without calling out a particular bartender, all customers should be appreciated
An excellent place to socialize and the staff is always on top of getting your drinks.
If you want to go to a place where your freedom of speech is violated by being physically removed from the bar without being asked to leave first then this is the place for you.
Love this place. Bruce and Connor my faves.
Friendly people and live late night entertainment. Monday night show is top notch. Non smoking on weekends.
Good drinks, nice staff.. cute bartenders, usually some fun events, nice vibe.
Great dive bar! Love Joe and all the staff! Super cheap drinks.
The atmosphere is relaxed everybodys friendly they switch up the entertainment and karaoke night is great
P town bar isnt bad but dont go there looking for eye candy. Also they dont respect social distancing
Greatest bar in Pittsburgh..bartenders are the friendliest and always make you welcome in the bar...great drag shows also..

Neighborhood bar. entertainers are of great quality and impeccable. not a stand and model bar..
Great drinks and entertainment! Hudsons a great bartender :)
Great staff, lots of fun. friendly atmosphere.
I love the crowd, great staff and fun shows!
Crowed changes , between open and close . Stop on hang .
Nice place friendly staff. Smoke free on Friday nights.
One of the only true gay bars left in Pittsburgh
Good place to go if you want to catch a disease.
A very welcoming ambience and service! I love this place.
Love this place!! Great fun and welcoming atmosphere!!
Great neighborhood gay bar with great specialty nights
Great space for dancing, karaoke, and Gayme night!
This is definitely a specific crowd of people. Cheap drinks though.
Great drinks and wonderful, friendly bartenders.
Not the worst. Friendly staff, but cigarette smoke was overwhelming.
Awesome bar that draws a good mix of people.
Always fun and great DJ and staff
I like going for Jellyfish parties. But they started charging for water.
Everyone is really friendly here. I love jellyfish
One of my fave spots in the Burgh!
Fun bar. Great free pour drinks. Pinball & pool.
Enjoyable place to sing Saturday nights!
Friendly bar staff and awesome drinks
Way too expensive for a dive bar and the drink I bought tasted terrible.
Horrible experience... Id never go back. Ugh!!!!
Love the drag shows on Monday nights

Total and absolute FAN-TA-YES-A. It almost gave me a heart attack knowing that you can listen to great music (thanks, guys from Jellyfish, who know post punk, italo disco, new wave and other etcetera) in the city, with delicious and cheap drinks, surrounded by great people ...I love P-town, SO HARD!
