Fantastic food , kid friendly check out the kids kids/cups/straws/meal options, great atmosphere and extremely attentive waitstaff! Huge shoutout to Autumn - your attitude and level of service should be the standard for customer service! Please continue to have such a wonderful attitude and personality! Also appreciate the gentleman working at the front (he came outside to greet us and share details about the menu. Persuaded us to give the place a try! So glad he took the time to speak with us (sorry I didn’t catch his name). Visited on 3/31 around 1:30pm.
Our server was amazing, a total pro.Shared a giant margarita with my friend. The first one they brought was delicious, second one was gross. Seemed like a different bartender made it.The nachos appetizer needed more cheese and toppings, they were underwhelming. The band was fun! The audio of the band could have been better, it was hard to understand the lead singer.
I was in Pittsburgh for a concert and our group went here before the concert started. It was excellent and i probably wouldve been fine missing the concert to stay at Tequila Cowboy!! I recommend the Pittsburgh steak wrap, and the jumbo margaritas! Service was great. The servers were perky and smiling and attentive to our party. Live music is always a plus for me! ☆☆☆☆☆ 5 stars!
This place is so fun to go to with friends. Its more for the college crowd but its still fun for older people. It gets Hella crazy though. The food is pretty good and the drinks are decently priced not too crazy for Pittsburgh. I love the fact there are multiple bars within the bar itself.... especially wannabes which is a karaoke bar! Must go if you love to sing!
We had a great and positive experience with the food and bartender! Exceptional food can truly elevate the dining experience, and its always wonderful to receive great service from a professional and humorous bartender. Their professionalism ensures that you feel well taken care of, while their sense of humor adds an extra layer of enjoyment to your time spent at the establishment. The combination of great food and a delightful bartender made for a memorable experience.👈💯. M.R.H
Our company planned an outing at tequila cowboy last week. Courtney, who is the event manager was amazing from initial contact till the end of the event. The food and the staff were top-notch. we had the queso dip which was the best I have ever tasted, we had build your own cheese burger sliders, barbecue pork sliders, pierogies, hand, breaded chicken tenders, which were all incredible. We had an indoor and outdoor area which was very nice. I would highly recommend, going there whether you are going with a large party or just out and want to grab something to eat and a couple of drinks. If I could have given them more than five stars, I would have they are the best.
The place is nice and the entertainment is fun, but the karaoke room was so incredibly hot that I thought I might pass out. It was dangerously hot. I had to leave and get some air by the river. I dont know if they have A/C piped into that part of the bar or not, but they really really need to. It was ridiculous.
What a great establishment! Tucked away from the hustle of the town, but so delicious. If you order food come with an appetite! Portions of food were big and delicious. Staff was pretty awesome as well!
Tequila Cowboy in Pittsburgh is a cool place to grab a drink and some food when you are on the North Shore section of Pittsburgh. Its across the street from the Stage AE live music venue and a very short walk to Acrisure Stadium for a Steelers game or PNC Park for a Pirate game. They have an outdoor seating area with fire pits in front. The very large indoor area is separated with a country themed side on the left with a mechanical bull and live music. The section to the far right through a little maze walkway is called the Little Red Corvette and it is an 80s and 90s-ish themed bar. In the far back room of the bar, they have karaoke. I met up with some friends before our class reunion and LOVED the Little Red Corvette bar and our amazing server, Jane! What a fun person! She was such a sweetheart and really made our time there extra enjoyable! Some nights, they have a dj and the dance floor is full and so much fun. I recommend this fun venue!
Every time we go here its a lot of fun. They have plenty of drinks and a nice patio where smoking is allowed. They also have a back bar with karaoke. Never seen any problems here and have even seen artists from shows at stage ae pop in. The bathroom could use a little work.
An annoying blight on the North Shore. Food is about the only redeeming quality of this poorly run establishment as it was pretty good. Staff is rude, bouncers are downright violent, drinks are overpriced and not proportioned right, regular crowd can be pretty annoying and rowdy.Overall not a place I would recommend if you’re trying to have a good time.
Lively place between PNC Park and Acrisure stadium. I was there on a Friday night non-gameday, and the place was packed, but the bartenders still got you your drinks super fast. Big dance floor and blaring music, some live music too. Plenty of security so you can have fun and not worry.
Absolutely nothing special about the service. Didn’t even get refill for the drinks and when ask for a “to go” drink she (bartender) said they are not allowed to give any to go. Food was ok. Wings little bit dried and tenders lil bit burned.I liked the atmosphere though. Also remember to bring your ID if you don’t show they won’t let you go in unless you have a parent.
Food was great! Servers were polite and knowledgeable. However, don’t try to have a conversation. The music and noise levels were deafening,
We had a blast at Tequila Cowboy while we were in town for a day! Our super friendly waitress gave us a tour of the place after we ate. She showed us their awesome karaoke bar next door and the rad 80s-themed bar too. The food was delicious and the live music was so much fun. Tequila Cowboy is a really fun spot with great music, food and vibes.
We got driven in here by an unexpected rain storm and wound up having a wonderful evening. Drinks were great, although the draft system was down. We didnt plan on eating dinner, so just had a Bavarian pretzel while waiting for the rain to end. It lasted, so we decide to try the Nashville Chicken sandwich. Good choice! The staff was friendly and courteous. We staid on untill the rain stopped and we could venture out again, and had a fantastic time. Great place for a fun evening!
Didnt have any food but the atmosphere was amazing. Basically 2 different bars. Country in the back and hip hop in the front. Best of both worlds
5 of us came after the Pirate game Saturday April 20th, 2024.We sure lucked out with our server, Autumn. Her beautiful personality and smile Her quick timing with our drink and food orders. Autumn is the best !!!!We ordered 4 appetizers and must say all were amazing. Its definitely a return visit and a request will be made for Autumn.
Great idea. Do your sound check for the band at 9 pm while everyone’s enjoying a drink and dinner instead of a logical time, earlier in the day. 5 stars though. Love it here.
We stopped in for a late lunch on Saturday afternoon and the staff was very cheerful and kind. They served us quickly and checked on us often. I got the steak wrap and my boyfriend got the Cowboy Mac and cheese. We decided to share and both were delicious!! Great atmosphere, great food, super friendly staff! So glad we stopped by while on vacation.
This bar will throw people out when they become overcrowded without informing any of their friends/significant other. Had a friend get thrown out and they refused to let her inform her friends, or retrieve her phone. What kind of place throws people out of a bar in a city at the middle of the night. If you want to drink and enjoy yourself in a safe manner without the possibility of being whisked onto the street with no way to get home i would probably go somewhere else.
Denied entry at the door and accused a member of our party of being drunk when he was totally sober with no grounds. This felt like blatant profiling and was extremely disappointing. The unprofessional behavior was unacceptable. Would not recommend.
Have never had an issue until tonight. A bartender went to ask us what we wanted to drink. It was super busy and loud and she kept turning away from us and not acknowledging she was hearing what we were saying. She then proceeded to yell at as since she only rang up half the order I had stated and proceeded to say “get it together already I don’t have time for this”. Did not leave a tip and will not be coming back
✨0 stars✨ I watched the bouncer physically attack my fiancé and when I asked what he did they told me he started swinging on a bouncer. The bouncer pushed me and my friend out of the way and started physically pulling my fiancé by his collar. He was removed from the bar and then the manager said he would go back and watch the cameras which we all know he never will. I have witness this happen before to a male at this bar in the same exact spot, the karaoke bar. I will never return to this place and I advise others to stay away. You don’t think it will happen to you or someone in your group until it does. The bouncers are out to get any male, just for an ego boost.
Worst food and drinks we’ve ever had on the north shore. The pulled pork sandwich was awful so were the fish tacos. Not sure what the margarita tasted like. Order a vodka tonic and it didn’t taste anything like vodka or tonic.
Wings meaty and tasty...perogies were well cooked, potato taste and with sauted onions on the side...friendly staff checking over 21 id...they had a musical group but I didnt stay to listen...
We came straight from the Pride concert next door and one of my friends got denied entry due to being “visibly intoxicated”. It really didn’t make sense because he was completely sober, and made me wonder if it was discrimination due to Pride next door. Disappointed.
This place is a joke…. Security thinks they are law enforcement… when in fact mall security has more respect than these guys. Paul Blart makes these guys look good.. I was sitting at a table when i was asked by a “security guard” if i was ok… i answered yes. I was then told “well you look terminally ill.” Wow?? What a thing to say to a customer. I wont be back… food is disgusting, bathroom’s are even worse! If you want to pay to be “picked on” by pretend wanna-bee cops.. here is your place!
Saturday night my group of friends had left BURN and came here to the outside bar for a celebration drink. My male friends cigar was lit, after being id by Security we walked into the outside bar. My friend was not smoking his cigar. Instead of telling him the outside bar was non-smoking, and to put out the cigar. The male bartender came from behind the bar and physically pushed my friend, who almost fell on the ground, and Screamed at him to get out. If my friend was injured, this bar would immediately have a lawsuit. After he physically assaulted my friend, he then apologized to us, and said he could come back? Not long after this happened, we left and went to Shortys. I dont know if I will ever return. I felt very unsafe and was very triggered from this incident. This is very unlike the many experiences iv had here, I usually have a really good time but I was very taken back from this.
Had a seemingly new dj when I went, didnt do a good job of working the crowd. The transitions were nonexistent. But otherwise an energetic spot!
I went to this place before and yesterday after so long was fun to watch a band again, get some good nachos and drinks, the people that works in this place are very kind, but I would say that is kinda pricey….Plus after 9pm just starts to get obnoxious, people too drunk to be out like that, showing their body parts that shouldn’t be seen like that, music too loud that you can’t even communicate with the bartenders
On the weekend of June 8, the bartenders at the elevated bar stole my credit card after I opened a tab with them. I worked to find it, I gave them my ID to see my name, and they still couldn’t find a matching card! I had the tab open for only an hour and a half! Terrible business, I have never heard of a bar doing this to a customer.
GREAT place! Service is always quick and friendly, there’s hardly ever a wait even when they’re busy, BEST margarita I’ve ever had!
First time there. Food and appetizers were pretty good. No beer on tap, but nice selection of bottled beer. Mixed drinks were good. Live band in the back. Outdoor seating. Reasonably priced. Will definitely be going back. They do have a Happy hour.
One waitress in the afternoon with quite a few tables and that woman took care of everyone without missing a beat !!! Fried zucchini is my favorite !!!
Bartenders were friendly and fast to get our drinks n food.
Service was alright but saw a roach crawl over my foot. Had to leave after I saw that. Hope to have a better experience next time
I went for happy hour and while the food was great, the two bartenders interrupted us, talked trash about my friends drink, and was blasé about my concern. Towards the end we left the bar to a table and the new waitress was nice, but then towards the end my friend and I didnt get our credit cards back for over 6 minutes. Mind you this was around 5-6pm, so there were barely any customers at both the bar and the tables so we figured service would be pleasant. Only the food was. Probably not coming back again.
Feel free to go here if you want to get randomly kicked out by some over zealous fake security staff. I went in with my fiancé and a group of friends this last Saturday night (16 December). We couldnt have been there any longer than a half hour. We ordered drinks and hit the dance floor for a few. My fiancé and I both proceeded (at the same time) to use the bathrooms. We parted ways. I went to the mens and her the womens. As I was washing my hands, a security staff grabbed my arm and escorted me out to the front entrance. I asked what the reason was and they stated it was because someone said I went into the womens bathroom, which obviously was impossible. They then proceeded to change the reason, stating it was because I was stumbling. At that point, I had maybe half of my beer. After realizing I was nowhere near being inebriated, the head security staff was going to be a nice guy and let me back in. After asking to get the specific reason as to why the establishment had embarrassed me like that, he got offended and said I wasnt allowed to come back in and then called the off duty LEO over. The only valid excuse he could give me was that it was private property. What a joke. I am a taller, athletic guy, so when I asked if they had simply profiled me for that reason, they then correlated that to racism. UNREAL. Horrible experience and the security staff are a bunch of B Rate players looking for a good ego trip because they are bored. This place is an absolute joke.
Love their pulled pork and cowboy Mac & Cheese. And the one blonde waitress is beyond the sweetest girl. We always love seeing her. Food is priced great and the drinks are always delicious. Music is always good. One of my favorite bar & grills on the North Shore!!!
Came here for drinks and to have fun with family. It was packed but its was memorable!
I recently had an unfortunate experience at Tequila Cowboy that left me disappointed and frustrated. I dropped my wallet right in front of the bouncers and security at the entrance, and despite their awareness of the situation, I was denied entry. While I understand that bars have security policies in place, it was disheartening that a simple mistake on my part resulted in being turned away. I would have appreciated a more understanding and empathetic approach from the staff.Customer service is a crucial aspect of any establishment, and unfortunately, I did not feel valued or respected in this instance. Its essential for businesses to balance security measures with customer relations, and I believe this situation could have been handled differently.I hope that Tequila Cowboy takes feedback seriously and considers ways to improve their customer service protocols. Everyone makes mistakes, and a more compassionate response to such situations would go a long way in creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere for patrons.
Just review all the complaints with the staff, primarily the bouncers and you will know all you need to know to avoid this bar. Unless you like drama. Witnessed in person the shady business practices used upon a non intoxicated person. My opinion is that basically private property and if they want you out they will fabricate a reason to do so. UPDATE: Decide to give them another chance. Bad call. On blacklist due to negative review. Must have been too true.
Its a fun place but Im from Eastern Europe originally and I was targeted there badly. The curly haired bouncer and door guy in coordination with his buddies shoved me inside and I ignored it and walked away. They still had their buddies publicly escort me out saying I drank too much. I came there for the band and I had food and one beer. After they publicly removed me making a scene targeting me for being from Eastern Europe originally which I am open about despite being in the US since I was a kid. The curly haired bouncer was saying weird things to me outside being hostile like they are not that liberal. Which pretty much told me that they selectively targeted me and made something up and even sent a person to physically shove me inside, which I ignored trying to publicly humiliate me in an orchestrated way.I didnt go to the police but in hindsight I should have. These people are friends with local police and literally use their connections to target anyone they way and make false things to publicly humiliate people. In my case Im from Eastern Europe part of the European Union. They selectively targeted me and harassed me and tried humiliating me publicly.
Great live band and atmosphere glad I went in. Check it out
So stupid they dont accept a UK drivers license with your date of birth on it as a proof of age. Doorman asked me to go get my passport 🛂
Great atmosphere! One of my favorite places.
I had a fantastic time at Tequila Cowboy, great evening with fantastic people, music and atmosphere. Cant wait for my next visit!
This place is great! It gets very crowded on weekend nights, but that’s apart of the experience. If you’re looking for a fun night in Pittsburgh, this is definitely a good stop! Great drinks, fun people, and kind staff. It is right between both stadiums, and there’s tons to do within walking distance.
This past weekend was my first time here. My brother spoke highly of the place and even talked about there being a mechanical bull. It was nice but no bull. I drove over 3 hours to come here and ride the bull. This was very disappointing. I recommend taking that off your website so when your business is Googled thats not something that comes up. Other than that we had drinks. I had the peach martini I believe it was very good. My brother had...well lots of different drinks. He liked all of them very much ha ha ha! The staff was wonderful...great personalities an nice to see a smile on their faces. Nice atmosphere and the band was good. All in all great place...on a side note...BRING BACK THE BULL!
It was packed, you couldnt walk, some employees are rude and the bartenders are disrespectful. If you are not used to working under pressure and with costumers, you should look for another job.Very respectful security employees 5 stars for them
Sometimes have an okay time but 90s room smells like vomit and the karaoke always takes forever. Also people I know get kicked out for no reason all the time
Visited them for a Corporate Mixology event by liquid flair entertainment. The space where it was conducted had a good ambience and the right layout for this kind of an event. The event was a good mix of alcohol, mixing, alcohol facts, cocktail facts and team building activities. The food served at the event was definitely prepared by the Tequila Cowboy and staff and was amazing! Loved the pizza and the chicken wings. Would definitely recommend for corporate events.
This might be one of the most overrated nightlife destinations in Pittsburgh. Bar staff can be very rude. Prices are standard, but the quality of your drink will vary by bartender. For the amount of bars, one restroom is absurd. Not only does it create crowding in front of the restroom, it also creates a lot of foot traffic. That said, they have a nice outdoor section and do a good ventilating the building. Audio systems are also decent.
If 0 stars was possible, that’s what they’d deserve. After dancing around with my family and having a few drinks, the bouncer grabbed me and told me I must leave. The bouncers are extremely aggressive and rude to all their patrons. I highly recommend finding another bar in the Pittsburgh area.
Terrible service and the staff think they are better than everyone else. Push people out of the way and then kick them out
So this place refused me entry bc my ID was 10 days expired. Im about 30 years past legal age. What exactly are you looking for? Clearly not customer service.Common sense died here. Used to frequent regularly and spend a ton of money. Not any more. TONS of other north shore options that actually care about the consumer. Voodoo... Southern tier... McFaddens... Take your pick... All others actually care about the customer.
The staff here are rude, I work in food service too it’s not that hard to be nice. Food was even worse, will not be returning.
Bouncer at the door was completely unprofessional to our group. One didn’t have an ID and he said “get off of my property!” Really? The lady is 59 years old. Never ever going there again!
Sooo...We were visitors in Pittsburgh. Thought wed have some lunch. Sat at a recently vacated table.Asked our waitress to wash the table. She took a dry napkin and wiped it off. (I could have done that).Ordered beer and water. Got the beer.Ordered food. Food delivered, no water. How is everything?Could we have water?Great food, ok beer menu.Service wasnt all that.
Went before the Pirates game yesterday. Food was excellent, and served quickly. Our server was super friendly and attentative My sister and I shared a burger and fries and it was plenty for us both. Delicious❤️
Started the evening sitting out on the porch having dinner and it was great! Live music ended at 10 and up until that point it was fantastic. Later in the night it got very very crowded which is why I took it down to 4 stars but otherwise it was great!
Not accepting European ID is a joke. Needing an American ID when you’re not American is insane.
Was a really nice place. They had a band when I went and the music was so loud I couldnt even talk to the people I was sitting with. The drinks were very expensive with little alcohol. I watched the security kick out a bunch of white men but not a single female. Even the girl drooling on herself right next to one of the bouncers got a pass. Not a good look.
Do not order a cocktail!! Stick with the lesser markup drinks that have alcohol... beer and wine. The menu may entice you to order a margarita or a craft cocktail but DONT. JUST DONT!! Their bartenders dont know how to make a drink. Get your moneys worth by sticking to wine and beer where you know youll get the alcohol you are paying for.
Food was AMAZING! Place was AWESOME! Definitely going to be going again!
This was not my first time at this bar, however it will probably be my last. A group of friends and I came down here and it started off as a great time. Good bartenders (the only reason I’m giving 2 stars and not 1), good music. One of my friends cashed out, went to use the restroom and then was immediately escorted out by “security” without them providing a reason as to why. He was not causing any problems, yes he had a few drinks, but others were WAY more intoxicated than he was and they were still allowed to be there. Bottom line is if you appear to be having a fun and harmless time with your friends and you cash out, you will be asked to leave since you’re not buying anymore drinks.
An interesting concept. The staff is very attentive and the jumbo margaritas are huge! My date and I went for drinks and appetizers. The drinks were a bit sweet.. As a bonus there was a Country Western band playing. The food was great and reasonably priced. Overall a great experience.
Pretty fun spot for a good night out with friends. The food is pretty good but I honestly wouldnt come here just for the food. Great atmosphere and fun themeing. Karaoke bar in the back is fun! Its worth checking out if you havent been here before.
2 of the bartenders deserted the 3rd bartender for about an hour. Caused slow service.
Was looking for a local speak easy with small plates and cocktails. Driver recommended TCB&G. Walked in a little bit squiggled and b-lined it to the bar. Tipped with a duffle bag of cash and the pours got heavy handed. No doubles, but you can order 20 vodka sodas and blow out your ankles. Music was tasteful and if you want you could rip a karaoke song on route to the can. Got kicked out for good reason. All in all a nice quaint place. Would recommend.
Bartender asualted my gf while at the bar. Never coming back.
This place is massive and you need to go a couple times imo to have fun in all the room! The best rooms are the dance room to the right and the small bar by the restrooms! The drinks are just average here and Im not a fan of the main floor. I prefer the music played in the rooms mentioned above.Overall, drinks are average but there is a lot of spaces for everyone to enjoy!
The Flatbread pizza was terrible!! No sauce and within 15 minutes made my husband feel sick. Not enough staff to provide top notch service, but servers tried their best. Lost a great deal of money by never coming back for drink orders. There was excessive security - child have saved a bit on that expense and hire a few more wait staff. The band was amazing. Id go back any time they were there. I think they were canned the Donny Irish Band. Great country 🎶.
The house made drinks are phenomenal! Staff are professional and kind. Live music from local talents is really really good! Perfect place to go to after a Pirates game….or before!
Food absolutely horrible. Drinks were watered down. I am treated terribly because I look young. I’ve been all over the country, and TC gives me the worst bar experience consistently.
The food menu isnt extensive by any means but they offer a variety of selections with a local flare. We had the steak wrap and the Nashville chicken. Both were perfect. The drink menu was unique and the drinks we tried were amazing. The bartenders were courteous, highly skilled, and well supported. The live music was a lot of fun and not obnoxiously loud. There was even an attendant in the bathroom.Would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes great food and drinks in a great atmosphere.
Tequilla Cowboy flagged my girlfriend before we even entered. She was clearly not belligerent or drunk but she tripped in her heels while approaching the bouncer. We elevated the concern to the managerial level where I gave my full name and offered them to have a conversation with her to better evaluate her intoxication. They had no interest. I explained that we drove 4 hours for a wedding and Tequilla Cowboy was chosen for the afterparty. I was sober and the DD. My girlfriend had a mild buzz. Every other bar on the block had no issue serving us. I highly recommend if you are planning your event to reconsider Tequila Cowboy as they are highly sensitive and emotional as the manager became upset when I tried to reason with him. I gave every opportunity for a personal touch to our customer service but they are more interested in liability than personalized customer service refusing to even talk to my girlfriend (because she was obviously not drunk and more sober than people in the establishment). The whole thing was silly. They made a bad call and stood by it because of childish pride.
Came to this bar for a second night with a big group and got “kicked off the property” for one of my friends not having her ID. I was trying to help her and talk to the bouncer, and he threatened to call the cops on me several times. My friend finally left so I could go back with the group and he once again threatened to call the cops on me. He started shouting out that I was trespassing the property and it was illegal. Rude, on his phone, and you could tell he just didn’t like his job. The first night was fun with the Karaoke bar but I do not recommend any drinks with orange juice in it.
I love this place! Friendly bartenders who are quick with a refill and some really good chicken wings. Couple that with the outdoor seating while you listen to solid new country and you have a recipe for success!
If i could put zero stars I would. this place is an absolute disaster. i watched them ban someone who was completely sober. They sat there & argued over and over and they couldn’t prove this person was drunk. Literally not a single of their bouncers could say why this person wasn’t let in. I, personally stayed back to watch and they kicked him out along with 2 girls who came back to check on him because the one girl said she had drank more than him. They said since she admitted that they wouldn’t let her back in but wouldnt give a reason. What a horrible mess. My friends and I got in totally fine, but the bar was disgusting and watching that go down made me not want to come back. not worth all the trouble in the slightest. a disgusting bar, overpriced drinks, horrible bouncers, especially. There are better places to go in the North Side, choose those places instead.
Visited here for the first time last night and the food was great! Bartenders were nice and fun and environment was really cool. Seemed like an awful lot of security for the place but maybe they need it on certain nights. Last night was fun though. Definitely recommend!
ZERO ⭐️, But google won’t allow it 🙄… Although my boyfriend and I are closer to 51 than 21, because we did not have physical IDs, we were denied entrance. We offered a scanned drivers license but were told they needed the actual ID. I’m curious as to why this is? Per the “security” it is imposed by the PA liquor control board given their location and size. I have to say BS since the Nashville location didn’t ask for our ID and they were much busier than Pittsburgh. In addition, we were in 2 other bars in proximity and there were no issues. 👎🏼 Tequila Cowboy in Pittsburgh👎🏼
Place is disgusting I was standing there minding my business drinking one of their nasty beers and my I looked down an seen like 13 roaches crawling up my legs then I look over an seen a colony of rats place needs shut down
Didnt eat there. Did have beers and shots. I did notice that every time I ordered a beer the price was different. Got there at about 730pm a beer was $5. When we left at about 11pm it was $6. And every time between those times it was a different price $5.25, $5.50 and different price for every waitress. It should be a set price.
We found a huge hair in our food. That is disgusting in the first place, but then the waitress refused to take the food back or acknowledge that we found the hair. They charged us full price. I did not eat any of the food. Would not recommend for food or customer service.
Went here before a 1:00 Pittsburgh game - good drinks and good chicken tenders for pregame! Awesome atmosphere, the place is huge so it filled up fast.
This establishment is dangerous for women. Men are targeting young females and drugging them at this bar. They are targeting this bar because the issue has been brought to management and security and they dont care! As long as they keep making money.... Please be safe and do not go here.
Stopped in as a group of 22 my food was ok, drinks were great, super friendly staff. Nice atmosphere, will definitely visit next time Im in town.
Service was amazing!! It was crowded with a lot of people but the staff was on top of it all. The bartenders were awesome, and drinks were made on point. Would recommend to anyone before and after an event or just a chill hang out spot!!
Pretty decent bar/club/sports bar. The overall vibe is pretty chill. A decent amount of people go so be aware. It is acceptable for all ages but skus toward the 30 or 20 something crowd. Relatively loud with music and people so be aware. It was fine for me while I was at the bar. Im almost 50 and didnt feel out of place. I only had a couple sodas but service was good. If I was a little younger I might rank it higher. I think Im fair at 4 stars for the type of place it is. Think bar club ish. If you want a quiet calm evening look elsewhere. If you want a hopping bar then its all good especially at night.
We stopped here for lunch and I have to say the service was above and beyond fantastic our server Autumn was such a delightful young lady definitely will be back! Best wishes to autumn for a great school year!
Had a taco flatbread which was really good. However this place is more for the younger crowd. It was loud and crowded. Could not hear the person next to you. Bar service was slow as there was so much congestion around the bar.
This place is fun on game days or before a concert. Huge venue with friendly staff. Great for meeting friends and grabbing a bite to eat. Bit of a younger crowd on busier days but I would recommend as they have a stage and performers and a bull to ride for the adventurous!
Очень уютно и бармены классные и уважают каждого клиента ❤️ я там был всего один раз но планирую еще туда сходить мне очень понравился.(Translated by Google)It’s very cozy and the bartenders are cool and respect every client ❤️ I’ve only been there once but I plan to go there again, I really liked it.
Fun bar. The karaoke may take a little time before its your turn. So you better be ready!!!! Would definitely attend again. Drinks are pricey but on point for that area.
Great food for bar food. Went during a pirates game so it wasnt busy. They had a guy playing cover music that was pretty good
One of those memorable spots that i used to visit a lot in my past life. Expensive, that’s that, but much forth it on a Saturday night!
I recently went for the first time and had a great time. They have multiple bars, a lot of space, and big dance floors. The night I went they also had outside a taco stand which is great if you need something to hold your alcohol done.I will say its very expensive here ($10 per shot), $10-12 per white claw.Id come back, but Id recommend you pregame big time to save yourself some cash
To the DJ who was in the karaoke room on September 30, I waited 3 hours to sing a song after I put in a request when barely anyone was there. I then proceeded to ask him how far I was in line and he had the worst attitude and was blatantly rude like he wasn’t working in the karaoke room
Was a fun time until my group of 3 girls were randomly kicked out and no one would tell us why. It makes sense after reading the other reviews, they kick people out for no apparent reason if they look like they are having fun. Very weird experience.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Literally half the place smelt like vomit, it was a 30 minute wait to get in, there is only ONE bathroom and the line was so long you would have had to wait an hour to use it. I ended up having to hold my pee until I left and had to find a different bar to use the bathroom at. You could barely walk through the place without getting shoved or a drink spilt on you. I have been to many bars in my life and I have never experienced a sticky floor like that place. Worst bar ever. Do NOT go here.
I mean its a decent place. Clean with good service. But the name implies its a country bar. The decor and theme would agree. They hardly played any country and when they did it was the stadium country garbage and the DJ murdered it with pop overtones. Its great for anyone who doesnt like country music.
I had a horrible experience on Saturday, September 24th, 2022. The bartenders would not serve me a drink. When I attempted to order a drink, on 3 separate occasions I was not given response. I am a dark skinned individual and the only way I was able to get a drink was to have my friend who was white order me a drink. I would wait over 15 minutes and be completely ignored the entire time. I watched a multiple people come to the bar and order drinks as I was waiting and I was continually ignored. My friend who was white could order a drink within 2 minutes. I tested this on 3 separate occasions and I was ignored each time. This is completely unacceptable and I am quite shocked with my experience. I recommend any dark-skinned not to visit this establishment as you are not welcome here. Even other patrons were shocked with my treatment. I attempted to speak with a manger but I was told that I wasn’t telling the truth and they had never heard a complaint of racial bias. Do not visit this establishment if you are a minority.
What a racist establishment. If you’re not fully American — don’t even bother. From not recognizing what a British Resident Permit is (oh, it’s not American, it must be fake!) to denying my fully Californian Hispanic friends entrance… this establishment is a piece of work. Do not recommend whatsoever.
Great place to pregame the football games!!! The patio is large and has fire pits for warmth. The inside is massive with numerous rooms and even though the place was packed for the Bears (Go Bears!) Steelers game we were always able to get a drink quickly from the lively bartenders. Bathrooms are large also so I barely ever had to wait in line. Would definitely go back next time were in the Burgh and consider riding the mechanical bull!
The most appalling establishment I’ve ever been to. I visited TC on Saturday April 2nd with my sister and friend. It was my sisters birthday who is also mentally challenged. I decided to take her out for a night to have a great time because she doesn’t get out much due to her limitations. I was standing in the hallway near the bathroom waiting for my sister to come out when a black female employee decided to cop and attitude with me and began yelling at me to get out of the hallway. I tried to explain to her that I was waiting for someone and before I could even explain why I was standing there waiting she yelled over to a bunch of men telling them that she wanted me out. I was happy to leave on my own once my sister came out however they decided to grab me and physically push me out the back door. I am a 40 year old educated woman with several companies of my own. I would be mortified if my establishments and employees treated people this way. You all could use some customer service training and how to handle certain situations appropriately rather than placing everyone in the same crowd. Horrible Horrible Horrible!!
Place is very spacious and had cool decor. Our waitress was very nice. We had a nice time even if it was short. Just had an order of there soft pretzels with cheese and their pierogies. Had a look around at what others were eating and definitely wanna come back to try other stuff.
After talking to friends over the past couple years since my last review nothing has changed. This place is a sloppy bar with egotistical bouncers who seem to get off on creating controversy. Bartenders seem to be overworked and I have seen them multiple times get into it with customers who have done nothing wrong. At the end of the day bouncers and bartenders get PAID to provide a service! If you are seeing this I suggest McFaddens any day of the week especially for a Pitt or Steelers game. Avoid Tequila cowboy and youll be happy you did.
I never give reviews but here is how my experience went. I was with friends dancing and accidentally tripped someone. The “security” escorted me out because of it. Even after apologizing for the action that happened. Expensive drinks and terrible music don’t bother going here for the trip. It is overrated and too expensive. The staff seem like they rather jump off a bridge then accommodate your request. That is a fact. If you go best of luck. It is a 50/50 shot that you get too enjoy your stay. Rather give 0 than a 1 star.
Nice place to grab a bite before a steelers game. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Pittsburgh.Just a recommendationChange the Cowboy nameHahaLook for aomething Pittsburgh orientedHaha
If you are from the South, I recommend you never go to this bar. It is a place where you are supposed to have fun, line dance, maybe two-step a little. However, I was trying to teach my friends these things and a staff member asked me if I was sober and told me to get water. It was incredibly rude and made me feel ashamed of southern dancing.Anyway, this was my experience. My advice is that if you’re a little home sick / missing the south, tequila cowboy is not the place.
This place is the worst! So crowded you can’t move and the bouncers like to target and kick people out for no reason. Went with a group of friends, after finally finding a spot where we could somewhat dance my husband went to the bar to get a drink. As he was walking to the bar a bouncer asked him to walk with him, although confused my husband said Ok and went. Next thing he knew he was outside and the bouncer said he had had too much to drink and he wasn’t allowed back in. We had some drinks at other places but my husband was in no way intoxicated. He wasn’t even showing signs of being drunk. We have never been treated that way esp for no reason. They definitely need training on how to act and treat people.
Great place to hang after a concert or ball game!!!
Bouncers are rude, one in our party didn’t have an ID, it was 6pm on a Sunday she was 55. We were completely fine about it, but we said we would go over to another restaurant the bouncer made a passive aggressive comment “we appreciated your business” then said “try the bar across the street” it was clearly closed
I came in to have a good time an they wouldnt let me in cause I was black let me know if Im wrong for that. Please spead the word to see if Im wrong. Im wearing a pink shirt and the bouncer got offended.
They banned me for life for absolutely nothing! I asked a crying woman outside Tequila Cowboy if she was okay. She said no. I asked why. She said they kicked her out for no reason. I said that doesnt sound fair, told her I hope her night gets better and went home. The next night, a bouncer that no longer works there said I was banned for 6 months. Apparently, he overheard what I said to the woman and either misheard or misunderstood. Then the pandemic came and Tequila Cowboy was basically shut down. I came back over a year later when they reopened and they said it said in the system I was banned for life! The bouncer asked what happened and if the cops were called. I said I tried to be nice to a crying woman outside Tequila Cowboy and was banned for 6 months. Not forever! They refused to change the mistake. I lost all my friends and have been extremely depressed ever since. Why did this happen? I thought they were my friends. Is there anything anyone can suggest to help fix this?
I have never been this disrespected in my life and I lived in the Philly for 3 years. They kicked me out for “tripping” This is a completely disrespectful establishment you should not waste your money at. The bouncers were trying to goad me into a fight. Completely classless establishment. Don’t waste your money.
We stopped in before a rainy Pitt football game to eat with a party of about 20. I had never been here, but was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was! We sat on a top level at a large table and a few high tops, had a fantastic server (dressed as an alien since it was their Halloween party!), and the food was great! Limited game day menu but selections were good. We all had a wide variety and everything was delicious. Service was quick, gracious, and attentive.Bathrooms and restaurant were very clean.Id definitely return before a gsme again or recommend to my friends who want a fun night out.
This establishment is a fun night out! We had a large party (20+) and we had no problems getting a place to hangout together. There are many choices of entertainment. The service was excellent. I will definitely take my party back again next year!
Played a good mix of music. Crowd was good. Not too many complaints here.
Absolutely atrocious. Would not let my friend in (regardless of the authenticity of his fake id that’s unacceptable) I will NOT be drinking here and instead I’ll likely throw eggs at it and continue to speak poorly of the establishment. Bouncer was mid and I looked him up on Facebook after too and his girlfriend and him were in a “mid” off to see who could be more mid. Also looked like a HUGE pansy!!!!! Never again.
Made my friend leave because he was dancing. Not bothering anyone, in a circle surrounded by us but because he took too long to stand back up after going into a squat they kicked him out so we all left. Retarded security and rules. Dont go if you want to have fun
Went here after Bettis Grille lost our reservations. They look 12 of us with no problem! Our server (Zack i think was his name) was out of this world so friendly and attentive to our group. The whole place is just amazing we hung out at all 3 different themed rooms and had a blast in all! They went above and beyond to make my 21st birthday memorable. My whole family told everyone we talked to the next day about what a fun time we had here and we are already talking about coming back! Thank you all so much!
One of the best bar experiences of my existence. Service was amazing and I had a blast with my friends. It is kind of pricey but if you are looking for dancing and an amazing ambiance COME HERE!!! Get an Irish trashcan, 10/10 would recommend! Come to this bar if you are looking for an unforgettable night!! Thank you Tequila Cowboy!!
Great food. Great prices. The waitress was attentive. The negative part was the bathrooms did not have paper towels and hand blow dryers are the worst with bacteria.
Food was ok, great happy hours price and the staff is quick delivery the food and professional.Drink is ok. Too much mixer and too sweet.
Band was good waitress was nice got there little early in night but as night went on more people came will go back
Door guy, who is actually just a door guy, would not let my husband in and could not give my group a definitive answer why. I am also in the serviceIndustry and for mutual respect of establishments asked why. We were not given reasons, only he knows. However, I was asked if I was there for my weight watchers date. 5’2 had a baby a year ago and I’m there to enjoy a moms night out…. Please go kill yourself “doorman”. Then I reminded myself… I’m at tequila cowboy.
Great variety of food on the menu! We went after a trip to the Science Center with our 6 and 10 year old. They were allowed in to eat but it was also at 3 pm on a Thursday! They have a kids menu so there might be certain times. We ordered a Buffalo chicken flatbread and a taco flatbread. Hubby and daughter finished them off and were delighted with the flavors! There is a Hot Nashville chix sandwich, pulled pork sandwich with fried onions, and their tacos that they are known for. The fries are very good!! The server was very friendly and suggested us walk along the river path back to the Science Center parking. We did that and found the memorial to Mr. Rogers along the way! It was a great late lunch experience! Well stop back next time we are in PA!
The staff was super nice and accommodating other than the women’s bathroom attendant. She was very rude and yelled at me and one other customer for standing in the bathroom waiting for our friends despite the fact that there was no line/wait that we were interfering with. Even after explaining we were looking after our two friends who were using the restroom she said we were not allowed to be there and made us leave. I find this unsafe and unfair but she made it very clear that we were not allowed to be anywhere near our friends or the bathroom.
We had SUCH a great time dancing and hanging out together in this very fun oriented place. The drinks and bartender were good, the atmosphere even better! We loved the Red Corvette 90s Room! Great DJ last night.
Super entertaining place with great throwback music for people like me (30 year olds who think they can still hang with the college kids). Yes, there are jello shots. And yes, there are people dancing on the bar. The floor was sticky, but it felt right. The people there were really nice, though, both employees and patrons. My liver protests, but Id definitely go back.
Its a beautiful establishment. I would go there to drink not eat. The female bartenders were very nice and friendly. They lost two stars because the food was awful. I ordered the chips and salsa to start. It was more like tomato paste and chips. No flavor no spices. Then I ordered the Louisiana spicy chicken sandwich. It came out with no sauce on it just plain fried chicken breast. The sauce on the side. I really should have taken a pic it was definitely over priced and not worth the money. I would never eat there again. Just go there for drinks.
Place is so crowded. There is no way I would ever return. Bouncers were everywhere and it appeared safe, but its no place for an older crowd. No food and only 2 drinks because it was too much effort getting to the bar.
This place is really big inside. They played different dance music in each room. It wasnt packed but busy on a Sat night. The drinks were regularly priced. The location is on the North Shore near the Pirates & Steelers stadiums which is convenient for visitors.
Food was very mediocre, but at least it wasnt super expensive. We ordered the chicken quesadilla and nachos, both of which were not great but not awful. The pretzels were better though. The drinks, on the other hand, were both bad AND expensive. My cousin and I both ordered Moscow mules (from their drink menu, no less) and received watery, flavorless drinks. Im almost certain they forgot to put the ginger beer and possibly even the vodka in. When we asked them to be remade, mine was marginally better, but he received what tasted like a whiskey sour.I will say that the service was friendly and fast, although I would have obviously preferred that the bartender took their time to make the correct drinks.
Friendly setting, kind service, great drinks but poor food quality and options for being GF. Walked in of the strip before a show at AE next door. Sadly the only option for me was a basic salad. The fries are not GF.
If I could give below one star I would. I’m Pittsburgh born and raised and when I go to this bar it’s very sad because it’s all a bunch of young employees looking for a power trip on the guests. This business should start with better customer service instead of portraying themselves like they’re better than their customers.
Very good place to party!! Its a big club with 3 different rooms, each one with a different theme. Yes, they do have a mechanical bull that you can ride for free. I personally would recommend this place to dance and drink, the music will be loud so its harder to have a conversation.
Ate out here before running over to Stage AE for a show. They have a fantastic hot chicken sandwich. Fries were done well and you got plenty if food for your dollar. And they did hit just right. Good and spicy but still full of flavor. Our waitress was great and the whole staff seemed pleasant. You could watch a game from anywhere. From the next room over, you could watch a live band play and they have great ones in there. At night, the whole joint turns into a dance club. So bring your nice collared shirt and can of axe.
Really good bar food. great staff. good selection of beers and cocktails. Happy hour is awesome. Margaritas the size of a kiddie pool. what is not to like? oh and they have a mechanical bull you can ride. highly recommend riding before you eat.
Food was delicious. Service was Great. Our waitress Jetta was excellent!! She was the best!!!! .Will definitely be back!!
Fun place, decent atmosphere could do well with better specials. But other than that had fun. No cover, relaxed dress code. Gets busy after 11 , favorite room is Little red Corvette. Plays variety hits up until now.
Just want to give a shout out to Carley and other two ladies behind the bar today that provided excellent service during the crazy St. Patricks Day celebration!! We sat at the bar and ordered food - but when it came it was not what we expected and I have a food allergy to something that i didnt realize it had until it came. We explained to Carley and she immediately took the food telling us she would have it taken care of. She got her manager, came back and told us they had comped it and then bought us a replacement of our choice!! The chicken tenders & fries were super yummy!! Thank you so much all of you!!
The 4 star is SOLELY for management and service!!The food was trash.1st off ,it came out so quick it had to already be precooked( my opinion).I sent back the chicken strips because they were old and hard.I got the burger! Was precooked and slightly warmed.I thought It was the cold tomato but no it was the inner burger that was still cold with no flavor At All.The only thing ok was the fries.Because we HAD to order food I just pushed it to the side and watched the game!My waitress WAS AMAZING!!When she saw I was not satisfied she got her manager. He WAS AMAZING!I chalked it up as a lost before he even came over.Between paying $40 to park behind the building, waiting at least 20 mins too get in then the food, I wasnt going back. The manager apologized, took both meals off my ticket and bought me a drink and nochos!Best customer service Ever!NOW the drinks..Are watered down( in my opinion)$16 for a margarita that taste like juice, then a long island that has 3 liquors in it taste like Juice flavored water.Im extremely happy I did not have to pay for that last drink!$61 total was worth the customer service. Thats it!!AND this Was Not a sports bar atmosphere! This was a social club full of ppl happy to be out!!Myself and 1 staff member did more cheering than the whole place.I screamed at a good play and scared the ppl next to me.The eagles fans were louder than them.Im a die hard! I left with 9 mins to go so I could be around more enthusiasts fans. All this combined brought my spirit down. This is more of a after game place!Sorry Not Sorry!!At least have your staff cheer at good plays to get the crowd into it!!After we started more ppl joined in!Ill definitely blame this whole experience on covid!
Fun place and Bar manager Dave was on it when creepy guys were filming girls on bull ride. Told creepy guys to stop or be kicked out. Appreciate they are proactive on keeping ladies safe. Will come back againFood was great too! 😊
I came here from Buffalo NY for Travis Denning. Wasnt sure what to expect...blown away! What an awesome venue! Its rare to go to concerts with seating...so fun! The food is typical bar fare, but well cooked and timely. The waitress is very attentive! Great place!
There are at least two parts of this bar. There is a more hip hop side and a country side. My friends and I spent our time on the country side where they had a cover band for part of the night and then had a DJ play afterwards. The bar was a nice place and I appreciated the vibe.
We had a decent bite before the Pirates game. Nothing special but food was hot and fresh, even if it took a little extra time to come out of the kitchen. It was busy! Its also fun to watch people ride the mechanical bull.
So much fun here! Friends and I sat the bar up front and had a blast dancing to the live music and talking. Eventually we were pulled in by the mechanical bull and, were ultimately defeated by the mechanical bull. By chance, one of us noticed the karaoke sign and headed to the back room and our group (30 people) dominated the stage and the room. Dance battles ensued and we sang every song that came to mind. Nothing but great memories here and we will be returning one day.
Yep I wont be back! The staff is just rude and hiding behind the masks. A member of my group went to smoke and when they came back the lady wouldnt let her in I went to see why and the staff told a different member of my group that if I got up again I was to be kicked out. If you would listen to the guests and not turn them away I would not have got up. Im not a problem However the over the top rudness of your staff is I regret planning my event here!!!!!
I love that this place is multiple bars in one with each having a different theme. It is absolutely huge and the drinks are really good. The employees were all very nice. We had a group event here and it was very easy to set up.
First time to Tequila Cowboy Bar and Id definitely go back! Drinks were reasonable, music was good, crown was packed. The place was easy to find and parking was close and also reasonably priced. Wait staff was polite and bathrooms were clean. Ill be visiting Pittsburgh again!
Easygoing place with something for everyone. We enjoyed the live country band, while the other two rooms had their separate themes going. Decent crowd, friendly service. Good for groups :-)
Rococo our bartender was a nice professional young man, food was great drinks were great and we watched as he carefully handled a couple of lets say not so nice guests to the side of us. Great place we will be back for sure!
Great food, fast service...friendly staff. I had a burger and fries... We were in town for the Fourth of July fireworks the place was packed. No sooner did we order our food...it arrived! I was pleasantly surprised at the fast service, considering the amount of business they were doing for the night. The burger and fries were hot, delicious with exactly what we ordered on them.
Music isnt bad if you like country. Atmosphere is pretty energetic.Bartenders are usually attentive.Crowds are out of control. Doormen didnt try to limit new patrons from walking in, either. Had to literally push people to get out. Not good for the weekends.
