The music and atmosphere caught my attention as I was walking by and the food lived up to the expectations! The whole fried fish fillet sandwich was fried well, crispy, but not overly greasy. The fish tasted fresh and the meal was filling without being overly heavy. The fries were super crispy but again not overly greasy. The strawberry daiquiri cocktail was refreshing and really hit the spot! Great experience overall!
We felt racism from the DJ last Friday night. We were onstage TWICE and he did not even try looking wt our eyes as we talk to him and tell him that he is playing a different song than what we requested… again, TWICE. It felt embarassing. He was so pleasant with the other people (whites).EDIT: To answer the owner’s reply - YES, ALL THE STAFF were nice and are welcoming, especially the bartenders. It was only this karaoke DJ that was rude. We felt it. And we saw it happen to other people of color too. If you look into cameras, you can see that almost all who had their songs were just white. Because the DJ was just not accommodating others. It wasn’t just us.
A must visit Key West spot in town. Went for happy hour. Grouper fingers were good but could’ve been better on the seasoning. Coconut shrimp were delicious. Pork ribs definitely were falling off the bone and brings out the carnivore in you!Drinks were good though margaritas were a bit too tangy for my taste. Service was friendly and attentive. While I’ve never been here during the season but I’m sure it gets crazy busy. Unless you like that visit during the odd hours.
I wouldn’t say this place was kid friendly. Our table had drawings of men’s private parts and the dollar bills hanging around our table had some very vulgar sexual comments on them. The spegetti gave my kid diarrhea too. My fish and chips was OK but not the best.I wouldn’t go here again. The atmosphere does look appealing and cool from outside though.
Took a road trip to Rehoboth and had this place on our itinerary. 10/10! Drinks were delicious, & the food came out quick. The crab cake sandwich was all crab & no filler. The hangover burger was also noteworthy! Environment was perfect, a very comfortable place to be! We came 2 days in a row; dined in the first day and grabbed takeout the next.P.s. The pics don’t do it justice, it was delicious
The Parrot is a uniquely Rehoboth spot that is a must visit. It has a main restaurant and bar, a side alley beer garden, and a hidden beach bar in the back. All fabulous!Food is not gourmet and a couple items are below average (avoid the chili) but on the whole it is solid and what youd expect from a bar. The crab cake sandwich is top notch, the fried pickles are the best I ever had, and the Asian wings are perfect. Drinks are big and tasty, especially the spicy margarita. There is a lot to love here!Where they lose a star is service. Not for friendliness and capability, but speed. Too many times now it is just too slow, and that is not the servers or waitstaffs fault. Recently we were seated nearly 15 minutes before we had to remind the hostess we were there, and she went to get the waitress. She was awesome, but drinks took another 10 min, food was close to 30, more, and that is all too long. It is not the workers at all, as they are all great, they just always seem shorthanded.Overall though its a spot you have to see and experience, as it really is a ton of casual fun.
We love the purple parrot. To the point that we go there every time we go to rehoboth.Service is always friendly and efficient. The food is always super yummy and they always have something even for my particular eater and vegetarian. Last year, they had a great Thanksgiving dinner special. It was awesome. The atmosphere is quirky and fun. I live that they dont take themselves super seriously.
Loved visiting this place. It definitely gives the local bar thats been here forever vibes. All of the servers we interacted with were super friendly. Tasty bar food items across the menu. It was a fun visit.
When we come to the beach we always visit this restaurant. We drive 2.5 hours from Maryland and each time we come here because the customer services is always fantastic but this time was different. Me, my partner and my friends decided to come in late to enjoy a nice afternoon Sunday, when we entered the restaurant, there was an orderly women sitting down people which I ask a table for four when she approached us and tell us that we need to order food not just drink which it make me uncomfortable because she does not know or she can’t assume that we are just going to be drinking. The way that I see there are two options. She is racist Karen that she believes that she knows everything or she is telling every customer that walk in that by law they need to order food which it does make the restaurant look bad. There were 3 tables that I notice that were only drinking and one table drinking and eating that make even more angry because those people were mostly white. The server was informed but the lady to be careful with us and that he need to let us know that we need to order food not just drinks, he was wonderful with us, I spoke with him and explains the situation which he understood and apologized for her behavior. The food was amazing and drinks always the best. I would recommend to have all your hostess people train again to provide a great customer service regardless of their race, ethnicity, sex etc.
I went there for the first time tonight, the room was full of joyful clamoring and upbeat music. The hostess took the time to arrange and clean our table. The waiter was fast, very friendly, and attentive. The decor and ambience have a relaxed and carefree feeling that makes you feel welcome. The food was amazing. Im very happy this place exists and will be coming back again. It is a jewel on the beach.
Food was great, bartender was very friendly and worked very hard, and its dog friendly. Very diverse. Singles, couples, families with kids, even some babies crawling around. They allow dogs! My food got confused between servers, but it all worked out. Good specials!
We have been coming here for 25 years and I think this has been the worse food experience we have had. I know the Jamaican jerk wings are long gone due to supposedly how long they took to prepare, however we ordered the clams strips which were nothing but fried bread and hard as a rock. So obviously they have changed their distributer. Our server noticed they were not touched and we decided to order the coconut shrimp. They came out TOTALLY BURNT ..all you could taste was basically was hot burned oil... I was extremely disappointed.
The ambience, food and service was excellent! Good portion sized, loved the beachy sand in their outdoor sitting area. They also let our dog sit under the table and had a dog water bowl. Overall great experience, must-go visit!
Had a blast here. It was late when we arrived so we took a chance here and had a fantastic time. Locals were welcoming and so much fun. Loved the karaoke scene. Will definitely return when Im in the area. Thanks for welcoming us to the neighborhood
In Oct. Got there 6:10pm, sue ro dog we were asked to go to Biergarden which was nice but it was being closed. So we sat saddly in the alley with most of tables dirty and no one being waited on. Walked up to bar window to ask for menu and order food and drinks. Fried pickles were good not salty. Clam strip at $13 was bit skimpy(small basket size of palm). Prime rib w mash pot and grill veg was excellent this was greatest value ever. Mumble jumbo burger also was great value and great. Excellent Rueben triple decker. Excellent blacken Mahi that was not salt cake like other places. Exc jerk chicken plates. Fish plater was great tasting. Fries were excellent and awesome cole slaw. This was one of the best meals I had in long time. Only if we had more service( although food was brought out by wait staff) it would have been 5+ star rating.
Just had dinner here this evening. Food has gone very downhill, portion sizes much smaller, and quality less than satisfactory. I ordered the blackened grouper which used to come with a very large piece of grouper, a cup of salsa and a side salad. Now the fish served was the size of a tiny piece of frozen tilapia you’d buy in the grocery store with 3/4 of a plate of salad. We sat down inside and before our food was served, a DJ started absolutely blasting music so loud we couldn’t speak to each other. We asked to be moved to the back and did. Still, so loud that we were screaming at each other. We asked to be moved outside. Instead of asking the DJ to turn it down a tad, the waiter told us we had to pay our bill now (before receiving our food) and then we could go sit in the side alley and someone else dropped our food off. We ate and left. Been coming here for years but will not be back.
What girl wouldnt like the parrot. I would consider it kinda a dive bar with food and nice beverages. Most of all, the prices are the best during happy hour. The regular prices are not bad. Its like being at the circus there. There is a steady cast of characters passing through. Ive seen scantily clad women in all sorts of swimwear that most shouldnt be wearing. Bikini wearing men who should have thought about stuffing the speedo... Im just saying.Anyway, lest I digress... you should go! Tell them the contessa loves it there. And there is no need to dress up. Just remember to stuff. Yes, your face too.
Service excellent. Food excellent. Aircon not. Asked 3 times for the fan above where we were eating to be turned down or off as honestly we were frozen but it never happened. Wasn’t asking for a lot, just a break so we could eat the lovely food but it wasn’t turned off. The added negative was it literally cooled off the lovely food in barely 2 minutes. It’s a shame but when spending $150+ it really did spoil it.
It was great until the DJ got there and started playing live laugh love wedding dj type stuff really loud. The music they had playing before was cool and not too loud tho and the atmosphere and general vibe is cool. They do fruity/cluby type drinks very sweet and yummy but not a fancy cocktail type place. I just went to the bar so idk if the food is
We came here out of town for our annual vacation down in Rehobeth on Wednesday night July 31st, 2024. The bartender on in the inside bar was absolutely terrible. He was getting angry about having to make drinks and cutting people off for no reason - it was a bit much. We did not enjoy our time and had to wait a long time to get drinks - granted he was not even that busy & was just ignoring us at the end of the bar. We tried to make conversation and we were very friendly and he was not friendly or nice back. Terrible experience - we will not be returning to the purple parrot next year for our vacation.
Great food! Friendly service. Felt like I was back on spring break in 1987. Shaded Breezy environment with a casual atmosphere. Recommend highly.
Very casual beachy bar and grill. Burgers and fries were quite tasty! Service was friendly, atmosphere was fun.
Cool place, it appears to get quite busy at night but we went after lunch for few beers. The german beer on tap was fresh and good. Mostly younger crowd but we were there with our 21 year old daughter so were not feeling toally out of place, lol. I like the biergarden part in the back, sitting outside in a more rustic setting, felt more islandy than other places around.
Hostess was super nice and got us a table during a crazy rush. We had a few apps and drinks. Parrot Wings were fantastic and the Mango Crush was perfection. Vibe is fun and relaxed. The bar tender was all alone but still managed to take great care of our table.
Didnt have the food, but it looked good. Had a dive bar vibe which was awesome. Definitely will go back.
Update:Just went to the Purple Parrot last night. This place never disappoints great staff Kaitlyn was awesome there was another guy working with her that was awesome too didnt get his name. Delicious food. Great music. Love the Purple Parrot.Definitely will be back it wasnt our first time there. Great atmosphere friendly feel welcomed.
Went to the Purple Parrot today. Great time. The bartenders George and Garrett were awesome. Very attentive. I will definitely return the next time I’m in Rehoboth.
Server was friendly - if overworked by the number of tables.I had the burger. It was burnt black with a charred crust and was the most dense/hard hamburger I have ever had in my life. It was like chewing on a rubber ball. I just couldnt finish it.Onion rings came out very greasy/slimy/lumpy with entire slices of the onion not even separated into rings before frying....
We love the Purple Parrot. It is one of our favorite places to visit in Rehoboth. We love to go for drinks on date night or a meal as well. The Beirgarden out back is our favorite spot due to the cool Tiki Bar atmosphere. The food is very good but my husband particularly loves the schnitzel (I know its weird and this placed doesnt scream awesome German food from looking at it, but you have to try it!). We go every year on our vacation to Rehoboth.
Probably have been here a dozen or so times. Always a core stop when were in Rehoboth at least.Prices are phenomenal for a beach town. The steak and eggs on their brunch menu specifically feels like a steal. Can recommend the mumbo jumbo burger enough. It is insane and always surprisingly juicy. One thing I will say is that (not sure if its a manager or owner) we seem to see, puts up with zero nonsense from unruly and pushy customers. So refreshing and goes miles to make the place feel extremely welcoming!
This is an excellent place to meet friends and start a tradition. I’ve been coming with my crew for over 15 years every summer and fall. The food, prices and atmosphere is a nice setup for the beach experience.
This place is close to the beach and has a mellow vibe. The service was good, but the food took a while to come out. About 30 minutes after we ordered they told us they were out of one item we ordered. Our entrees were very disappointing consisting mostly fries. The drinks seemed overpriced, but I guess thats the price you pay for proximity to the beach. I would visit again, but would not order any food!
Food was solid. Sandwich and pasta pretty tasty. Service was horrific. Sat with empty drinks for a long time, got a super dirty table and your shoes stick to the floor. Definitely a bar scene. Not kid friendly and fairly small establishment.
My only complaint is the veggie mushroom wrap - please add some spices to it and consider roasting longer. It was just soggy warmed up vegetables. I couldn’t finish it. Also the jerk chicken is just grilled chicken - no spice :(Everything else, great. Best fries ever
Love the Parrot. In Rehoboth about 10 times a year and go to Parrot every trip over and over. Biergarten is the best! Food is good. Great service from all the bartenders ALWAYS!! Great atmoshphere, just a great place.
Had about a 30 minute wait but hostess was a nice older woman. She kept thanking us for our patience (I work in retail, I get it, Im not about to berate someone because their workplace is busy). Atmosphere is definitely eclectic, kinda beachy, rock music bar. Definitely loud, but good music. I only saw 4 people working; its not a huge place but if you go, be patient. They were running around like crazy but not one of them had a bad attitude. Little bit of a mix up with the bill and the guy was so anxious approaching us about it, I felt bad for him and whatever past experience that left him scarred like that. But he fixed it quick. I wasnt mad. Were all human and we make mistakes. Quesadillas were good and filling (couldnt finish haha). My friend had a blueberry lemonade mixed drink. BE CAREFUL! Tasted amazing but you couldnt tell it was alcoholic lol
We love going to the Purple Parrot to meet friends for happy hour and mostly hanging out in the biergarten. The bartenders are always amazing and the food is tasty!
Finally made it to the Purple Parrot! On the weekends they do brunch from 9-1, I had the breakfast wrap with salsa and hash browns. The hash was actually sliced potatoes, and OMG they were fabulous! The wrap was huge, filled with eggs, black beans, tomatoes and cheese. This place has a great vibe, and a bar area. No off street parking, and since its on the main drag parking is a challenge. There is also a Biergarten in the back. Check it out, and have some fun!!
This place was packed but there was no lag in service! I got waited on almost immediately every time I approached the bar! I have no idea how they do it! They had karaoke, which was so much fun.
Normally we go for brunch and its great. Today we stopped by for Cinco de Mayo and were disappointed to say the least. They should stick with their regular menu because Mexican isnt their thing. Of the three special items we tried all three were blah. Do better Parrot
Great bartender in the back bar was running his buns off serving drinks and food all-over the patio. Tough to get staff this time of year but two or three as good as he was, and you would be set.
The dj on june 21 friday night was the worst!! He’s a racist! He was so rude and kept on dismissing us. We signed up for a song but he kept on playing the wrong song, that we felt he does on purpose because we tried communicating with him but he wasn’t even listening!! He wasn’t even trying and not looking at us even though we’re in front of him.UPDATE: Its not just about the wrong song; it’s more about how he consistently ignored us while accommodating other patrons, even though we were literally right in front of him. This dismissive behavior felt deliberate and discriminatory. I rarely leave comments and do not make accusations of racism lightly.
Such a fun atmosphere, their menu has something for everyone! The clam strips are excellent!!! Staff is friendly, and the service is fast!!
I do not recommend coming here. The floors were super sticky, tables weren’t wiped. Felt like i was back in the frat house. And the chicken wings is overcooked and hard to the point it’s almost cracked my tooth. The waiter was also giving us attitude and was rude, barely coming to our table.
Had dinner at the bar on a Thursday night and Chandler and George behind the bar were so amazing. Great customer service and amazing food and drinks. Will definitely be returning!
Good food, fun atmosphere, food came out a bit hot, burnt my tongue a bit on the tacos, but would go back again based on the value
The food, service, & atmosphere were great. Nice relaxing place to hang out and have a nice meal. Crab cake sandwich was delicious.
Hospitality and service a 10! Super-cute place. We went here, as we were touring Delaware, because they are pet-friendly. We were glad we did. As the hostess gave us a tour of all the outdoor dining areas to choose from, our dog (Popeye) checked out the watering bowls along the way. There were lots of shady tables. I enjoyed a crock of seafood gumbo and husband had to the mini crab balls. Since they werent busy, the bartender came over to take our orders and check on Popeyes needs. It was the beginning of the off season so we were lucky to find a parking spot close by. Highly recommend, not only for the food, but for the atmosphere.
It was the biggest hot dog. Very delicious and I definitely would order it again. Service staff was courteous and friendly.
I like the colourful of everything ! Full ! Went all over the place as it’s my first time there! Liked the design of one dollar bill all over the place ! The drink was usual and nothing spectacular ! The partender was busy with everyone ! I didn’t try the food so I can’t review it ! But in general ! Very nice place, colourful and full with people, little outdated and need to work on the tables and chairs,
This place is the best kind of different. I got wings and they were fall off the bone delicious and big! Also got a mudslide and it was delicious. 2 tequila sunrises in perfection. I even modify mine with pineapple juice over orange and they remembered my change with the second one. Beer of so many flavors! The staff is laid easy going, they handle pressure well. The bar was PACKED and drinks went out so fast and correct. Its impressive. On top of that many people have come to leave gifts to make their mark on the restaurant. So much fun, good music, and the atmosphere is next level. Always excited to go back. Purple Parrot is a diamond in rehoboth beach. 1/27/24, New years, your team does amazing every time. Bravo. Truly superb. See you again soon!
Was a great place to visit. Definitely will return again. Staff was very friendly and went out of the way to make us feel invited. Kevin who was slinging our drinks was probably one of the best bartenders Ive come across. The inside of this place had a great theme going. Was a very refreshing change to come across this place. Definitely was pleased. Seems to bring some nice upbeat people in. Definitely recommend stopping in and checking this place out if your in the area.
A must stop if you’re in the area. Supes gay friendly too. Amazing crab. Stiff drinks too!
Great menu choices. I got the 1 pound burger, and it was running down my arm delicious. The misses had the patty melt with an abundance of fresh fries. They had a DJ spinning what seemed to be my playlist from the late 70s and 80s. We sang along to almost every song. Cool atmosphere ! Yes, those are dollar bills pinned to EACH and EVERY piece of wall space available with names of the patrons. I did not have to leave one, as I found one with Greg written on it. (I tried to estimate how much cash was there, but couldnt come up with a formula). What is this cash use as for ? Dine and dashers ? Hard times ? The answer is unknown. Highly recommend. Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly, and attentive.
Such a fun place for late night bar food and karaoke 🎤 Great mixed aged crowd, all having a good time!
I ordered Surf & Turf medium. It was probably well done a couple times over. The sirloin steak was tough and chewy. The first couple bites took me a long time to chew before trying to swallow, then I had to regurgitate to chew more because I couldnt swallow. By the time I finished the steak my jaws hurt from chewing. But my crab cake was good. My partner said his blacken salmon was good too. Thats why I gave a 3-star instead of 2.
Great food. Great beer. Service is good too. Been here several times and always get something from the specials. Never been disappointed.
We have had brunch here on Sundays for around 9 years. We enjoy the food but even more the staff.
The food and service were outstanding. It had been several years since wed been back, but everything about our visit was great. The Grouper Finger appetizer was light and came out piping hot and was absolutely delicious. I had the Rueben and my wife had the Crab Soup and Caesar salad. The soup was rich like a bisque and the salad complimentary to the soup. The Reuben was one of the best Ive eaten, not to treat and not to sweet. I highly recommend making this a stop during your next to to Rehoboth.
Staff is great and prices are reasonable. Their orange crush is made with fresh juice and fish tacos and fries were great. Not a fan of their clam strips, but they were kind enough to reply so I will take back my critique. Still, if you are expecting New England clam strips these surf clam strips will disappoint.
We really enjoyed the atmosphere here, but the food left a lot to be desired. The cream crab soup had too much old bay and tasted way too salty. My crab cakes were okay but seemed to have a lot of filler. The real tragedy was the ribeye that my husband ordered. Unseasoned, grey looking, full of fat piece of meat slapped on a plate. Thankfully, our waitress was happy to bring him a burger which he did enjoy. I hope it was just an off day for the chef! Otherwise, the environment was fun, and the staff was friendly. If we go back, it would likely be for the bar and not the food.
Great place to get a snack after jumping some waves in 🌊 the ocean! Our server was very friendly and the chicken quesadilla was delicious!! People wrote (or carved) graffiti on the tables, but I think thats part of the ambiance?/?/? Either way, I recommend giving them a visit the next time youre in Rehoboth beach DE 🏖️!
Call ask for reservations said u didn’t need one walking I saw clear a table with a sign that said reserve…I get there 9 pm said maybe could get a table or not but they would let me know wait more them 1 hour before show .. when show star and it get overcrowded with no control of people in establishments… also try to look for a manager but it was no where to be fine .. I not sure if this place someone was running a shift or something.. seem to many confusion between customers and staff…I m in restaurant business this not accept …Try make sure if have kitchen opened into 11:45 or 12:45Mean u have to flip your table … notification about what is going … also saw lot more issues .. that would make efforts to notify management this establishment when get to me …
This place is a blast. Was there for karaoke. Highly recommend!
Food and atmosphere is awesome. The bartenders George and Kevin know what I’m ordering before I order it (hopefully got their names right) Also the manager is very kind and remembers people. I can tell these folks are passionate about their jobs and actually enjoy working here. Happy to be a frequent guest. Also, get the crab balls!
The service was friendly, efficient and attentive. the burgers were an excellent value and huge.
Just fried bar food got sick after eating here ribs had hair in them and was just dry witg sauce just squirted on top . Waiter was friendly .
Such a cool place with a fun vibe! We stopped here while on vacation and were so glad we did! We all loved what we ordered - especially the Old Bay peel-n-eat shrimp! We also had a burger, a shrimp wrap and a crab cake sandwich - all delicious!! The drinks were also good and the service was great. Its located right in downtown Rehobeth with tons of shops - also right near the boardwalk. All around perfect spot! We cant wait to go back!
Best bar in Rehobeth by far!! Beer garden Garren is a legend!!!
Food is horrible 😫 fish was rubber and the pork had way to much sauce. Please do your self a favor and keep walking past this place and the drinks we very weak and made with mixers smh 🤦 2 out of 10
We stopped in late night to enjoy a little dancing and drinking. The karaoke was fun to listen to.
Service was good, crab soup i ordered was really good, and my drink 🍸 was made to perfection 👌
This is a fun bar in a great location.Staff is to worried about cracking jokes and eating nachos off a female customers plate than serving customers ( bald bartender talking about his upcoming hernia surgery.), on a busy Black Friday.I get it, its a popular place so the employees dont have to care.Food was adequate.Atmosphere is funTime to retrain the staffJohn Taffer is waiting.
Great eating place. Reasonable prices too. Grouper and salad was very good.
Amazing food, good waiters/waitresses. And nice place
Nice relaxing atmosphere and waiters were friendly. Prime rib was Yum!👌🏽😋
The atmosphere and restaurant itself is beautiful and very inviting. We were welcomed in and seated. Our server was Nikola. We saw him twice. Once to greet and take our order and the second time was him having a lengthy table visit and conversation with a party of two at their table near us. That is certainly appreciated that he took time to do that, but it took time away from him serving our table along with others. A member of the staff brought our meal and we waited a little while trying to get his attention and had to ask someone else for drink refill and what else we wanted. His conversation with that party of two lasted the entirety of our meal and we had to interrupt and ask the hostess for our check. As we completed the check (table 20/1, 5/50024, 2:23 pm on 5/5/23) Nikola stopped by and said thanks, have a great day. We felt everything was great except for the quality of service from our server.
The food and service was great. Definitely a go-to if you want some good eats and a good time
Went for the Sunday special of prime rib. It was delicious and at a good price. Our server was very friendly and checked back several times. The atmosphere is pure Purple Parrot. We love it every time we go.
We went there for the Crabcake special. its been a while since we went there. What a pleasant surprise. The crabcake was huge and delicious. We will be back.
Great food and service. Outstanding selection of food and a very fun atmosphere. Ive been here many times.
There are a few good things I can say about this place, it is conveniently located between Rehobeth ave and Wilmington ave before the boardwalk, the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is really cool. However it took 45 minutes to get our food and when we did it was nothing to be excited about. We stopped for lunch around 12:30 it was not terribly busy. Maybe a good place to have drinks but definitely not the place to stop for lunch especially with a family. And definitely don’t order the Cuban.
I was here on a Saturday night with a group of friends. Drinks were great and reasonably priced and the atmosphere was terrific. The Biergarten section was beautiful and I especially loved the murals on the walls. The only thing that soured our experience was the bouncer who was working that night. When he checked my friend’s ID, he rudely brought up my friend’s weight and demanded to know when he took his photo since he didn’t look like his photo. It’s normal to gain weight, and the way the bouncer commented on my friend’s physical appearance was just uncalled for. It made for an overall unpleasant experience even though everything else was great.
Great dive gay bar- fun dancing. Dollars everywhere- bring one for the wall!
The food is your standard fare but done really well. Everything tasted great. Service is spotty, to be honest. My husband and I attempted to eat here once before and gave up after being ignored for a solid ten minutes by staff running around a relatively empty restaurant. Returning with friends this time, one of which is a regular, service was much better even with the place being packed. I hope to try it again soon!
Its always busy, but they still provide good service. Great for Happy hour.
Garrett is the best bartender ever. So attentive and accommodating. He was on top of our drink and food orders and even made us the best dirty banana ever. Will definitely be back! PS best dance moves ever! Just ask for a *NSYNC preview!
The idea of writing on money and putting it all over the walls and being able to write on any thing that has a surface was pretty cool. Ended up there Saturday on a beach trip and added a dollar to the wall. Will be going back once a year with her to make sure its still there or maybe to add to our story. Food was great and the drinks were cold.
I heard a lot of good things about this place so my parents and I decided to try it. The atmosphere is very fun and the biergarten looked very cool in the back. At first I was hesitant because they were a bit busy, which is fine it was a weekend, but the hostess wrote my name down and said about 30 minutes. No problem, except that after 10/15 minutes I saw other groups (4+) larger than ours (3) walking in and being seated right away. Why take my name if youre not actually using a name/wait system? So I said something to the hostess and they said wed be next. Our server, I cant remember his name, was excellent. They were busy but he was very attentive and friendly. He was a pleasure and made up for the poor experience with the hostess. We ordered the salsa/guac combo appetizer to share, which was just OK. For entrees, my mom ordered the blackened grouper (she loved), my dad had the schnitzel special (said it was good), and I had the fish and chips. The cole slaw and fries were all yummy. Everything tasted good and the portion sizes were good too. Unfortunately, just a few hours after eating, I became violently sick with food poisoning. Only me, so Im guessing it was whatever type of fish they used for the fish and chips because I ate nothing else before or after this meal. Absolutely horrible feeling for the rest of the night and next day. So if you do come here, maybe avoid the fish and chips... Otherwise, its a fine place. Pricing for both food and drinks is good, not too pricey, considering youre in the heart of Rehoboth.
We had the best time here! Fabulous outdoor biergarten with trees and flowers, really excellent sandwiches, tacos, fish and chips, and very dog friendly. Nice friendly people work there and go there. Loved it!
Loud, food was not what was anticipated . Drinks were super strong. Great wait staff. Unique outside rear and side bar. I was there over a pretty quiet summer weekend. Really liked the Reuben.
You will love the atmosphere in the back on the sand. The bartenders are awesome. Especially Adam. The food is good to very good depending on what you order. You place your order with the bar, and it comes to your table via a server. Remember to use the rear entrance.
Just stopped in with my wife unexpectedly over the weekend Im not really into crowds so it really wasnt my cup of tea but it seems like a nice place and people were friendly would go back again if in the area
Really nice restaurant to sit down with friends and eat. Food is always good, drinks too. Ordering is a little different but it doesn’t take away from the experience at all. Staff are friendly and atmosphere is relaxing. Very good dining experience.
Had the best service with Garrett- super attentive, will definitely be returning!!!
Stopped in for drinks the other night, nice bar. Had fun, would go back.
Favorite place in Rehoboth. We got the crab cakes and they were packed with crab meat and cheaper than anywhere else. Drinks are the best and it’s kid friendly! We have an autistic daughter and they made us feel so welcomed and accommodated!
The Parrot is awesome. Cocktails, apps, meals, brunch and entertainment on some nights. Their menu is so big and everything we had was good. I’ve been here for different meals and even just to snack with a cold cocktail. Never had a bad experience.
I loved the outside patio. The beach sand and service out there was so much fun and I really enjoyed it. But I gave 3 stars because when we came back the next day and sat inside, the bartender was very rude. We had a group of 9 people and when we know it can be overwhelming we are very patient. We all only ordered beers and when it was my turn and I asked for a miller lite the bartender said “Jesus Christ” and he completely skipped my sister. My friend did ask for limes and he grabbed a bunch with his bare hands and dropped them in her hand. I was disappointed with the men inside serving at the bar. I hope he was just having a bad day.
Great food, strong drinks, ahhhhhmazing atmosphere
Fun place. Music, dance, food and lots of drink. Fans outside to cool off and stay comfortable. Saw meter parking at rear entrance. May be best bet to grab a spot.Underagers beware. They do not mess around. Youll get tossed in spectacular fashion for the amusement of others.
We had a family lunch here outside with dogs and it was perfect. Parking was challenging since it was a Sunday in summer at lunchtime, but we eventually found street parking in the back. Great menu selection and food. The blackened fish tacos were amazing! The decor and atmosphere inside and out is festive and fun. Well definitely be back. I highly recommend the Purple Parrot.
The waiter was rude as soon as we sat down . The food is plain and overpriced for small portions . Ive had better service and food at a fast food joint
Second time in, absolutely love this place. The vibes are great. We had Kevin who was exceptional, he made our day. Had the coconut shrimp which was delicious. One of my favorite spots in Rehoboth. Will definitely be back.
Food wasnt hot at all. The 3 bean chili came out in a really small bowl . It was at most 5 spoonfuls..I couldnt believe it..way overpriced for that.. The shrimp wrap seemed mediocre, frozen shrimp maybe? The one good thing were the fries. The server seemed nice but part of my wifes order was messed up, we didnt care so we didnt say anything. Nothing memorable.
Awesome relaxed beach bar with great drinks and service.
We have decided that the Purple Parrot is our favorite spot in Rehoboth. This past trip we ate at a couple of different places, which cost more than the Purple Parrot and were not as good. The service here was great, food was amazing as always and the decor is truly one of a kind.
We love this place and visit it every time we head to the beach. Food is good drinks are better. The atmosphere is super chill. Try the crab balls and my girlfriend loves the mango crush drinks they make and she is not a drinker. Their wings are good. The vibe is very entertaining to say the least.
Oh, The Purple Parrot, where Delaware tries on its best Caribbean outfit and nearly convinces us! The atmosphere instantly transported me, and I genuinely kept looking around for palm trees and the soft beat of calypso drums. Situated tantalizingly close to the beach, it’s only a block away, making you wonder if the tide might just roll right into the dining area. Now, I must say, if youre in the Rehoboth Delaware area and dont drop by The Purple Parrot, youre robbing yourself of a sun-drenched delight. The food? About what youd expect from a tourist spot – decent and satisfying, kind of like a summer fling. All in all, a trip to The Purple Parrot is like a mini-vacation in itself. Just remember: pinching yourself wont actually transport you to the Caribbean. I tried.
Food has definitely gone down hill since the last visit, Ruben was not grilled corn beef was fatty, very little kraut or 1000 island, burger was burnt just tasted like carbon service was slow, very understaffed. Server stated they cut staff after the tourist leave. The locals are what keep you going but the business has other ideas on that.
Great food and friendly staff. We got the crab cake sandwich (super delicious), a few orders of chicken tenders, jalapeño poppers, BBQ Burgers and everything was perfect. We were a party of 8 with 5 children, and the service was excellent! Great atmosphere too. We will definitely be back again next year!
Had fish tacos that were absolutely delectable! Presentation on point. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the “jumbo” fried calamari. Let’s just say it was lacking in size. Despite this, everything else was very good.
Had the fish tacos. Really enjoyed them. Got 4, that was the first time a restaurant gave me that many. Even the chips with guac and salsa was delish. And let’s not forget the drinks. We ate in their beirgarden. Pleasant atmosphere. I recommend you eat and drink in the garden next time you go there.
It was our first time at rehoboth beach. My wife and I came across the purple parrot and looked inside. It looked like a fun and friendly place to eat at and it didn’t disappoint. The service, food and atmosphere were amazing. We planned another trip to rehoboth beach. We will definitely visit the purple parrot again. Thank you.
Had an issue with a bartender but management was quick to act and resolve the problem. Very happy with how they dealt with the situation! This is a fun bar with karaoke. Very popular spot for bachelorette events
This was a fun place for food and drinks. A true dive bar with good food and the bartender was great. Not classy at all, but just a neat, casual, outdoor place on a nice day.
We stopped in for a couple drinks. Happened to be Karaoke night. It was fun. Never did aeea wait-person all night, but we were close to the bar.
First time I have ever been there. Had a blue moon beer from tap, incredible fish tacos, and a double of Scooby Doo shots.(This blend of coconut rum and cream helped sooth my lips from the spicy sauce on the tacos.. which I loved!!) The bartender Sam was perfect. Felt instantly comfortable, like I had been there forever... before. which I hadnt. I just bought a place in Seaford, and I shall be done a whole lot now. Thank you for excellent food, feelings of welcome, and great service.
I love this place so much! Great atmosphere with great food!
I loooove this place. Never had a bad experience. Food is really good. Bartenders are friendly, door staff is friendly, waiters and waitresses are so fun. Would highly recommend. Lots of laughs every time we go there.
Unique place on the main strip. Food was decent. More of a place that would be great for just adults. Went with kids and grandparents, they would have enjoyed more elsewhere. Service was good.
Love coming here when in Rehoboth. Service was excellent, food left something to be desired. I ordered the half pound of steamed shrimp appetizer as my meal. While the food came out fast, it was incredibly rubbery with the digestive vein still in. They seemed to be seasoned well, I’m just weird about the vein being in my shrimp. My wife has a shellfish allergy and although our waitress checked with another staff, she still wound up sick. Our drinks were good and seemed strong, along with the appetizers. Be extremely careful if you have an allergy here.
I stop here whenever I am in town. Fun place to hang out and enjoy good times. Food is good. Had the fish tacos, they were good. Love the outside bar area, it is just fun fun.
Great food. Great customer service. We did have to wait awhile for our food. Not enough employees to cover. Which is understandable in this day and time. My cousins ordered the Hawaiian turkey burger and loved it. I ordered the jerky grilled chicken and it was good. Most definitely will return in the near future.
First time at the Purple Parrot after hearing great reviews of their prime rib special and unfortunately, our last time. Started with the cream crab soup- very tasty. Entrees of prime rib (4 diners) were served cold, the meat was extremely tough and tasteless, the mashed potatoes were cold and tasteless, and the vegetables were soggy, over cooked, and you guessed it- tasteless. No one could stomach their dishes. Informed the staff of the poor meal and unfortunately, didnt receive an apology, though they took 1/4 meals off the bill. Service was mediocre at best. Very disappointing overall dining experience.
Had the absolute best time ever at this establishment!! karaoke night is the best night ever and we had so much fun! we danced and sang all night everyone is so friendly and good at singing!! they know how to captivate the audience! will absolutely be coming back 12/10!!!! :)
My husband and I visited Rehoboth Beach for the 1st time last week and just happened to stop into Purple Parrot for a late lunch/early dinner at abut 4pm. We immediately loved the decor and vibe that the restaurant has. Unfortunately, after being seated it took about 10 minutes for a waitress to approach us. Then we were told that the signature crab cakes were unavailable. The food we ordered was delicious but my husband was very disappointed about the crab cakes. After we finished eating, our waitress did not come with our bill until I finally saw her and waived her over to our table. We plan on returning but hope that next time the wait staff will be more attentive.
Our bartenders Kevin and Sam were great! We had a large birthday party show up randomly yesterday afternoon, and they didn’t miss a beat! So fun! Will definitely be back!
Visited at Happy Hour. Cheery crowd, all ages. Chicken, fish tacos good: BBQ a trifle dry but good flavor--maybe ask for more sauce? THE KEY LIME PIE! Best Ive had north of the Gulf Coast. Will visit again!
Straight out of Jimmy Buffetts back yard, this place was amazing. The bartenders were knowledgeable, spunky, and fun to communicate with. The food was awesome, and I just enjoyed every bit of this place. Get yourself a margy!
The food was great, they had great choices for alcohol and had loads of fun doing the karaoke night. Would recommend this place for food and drinks and a good place to get out and have a good time.
Had a great time there drinks were awesome didnt have any foods cant give a rating on that Good place to go for drinks
Good drinks, excellent food, great service. What more can your ask for from a bar at a vacation spot?Cool tiki theme throughout. Great selection of boat drinks. Multiple seating options including, indoor, outdoor, and deck. Prices are reasonable for the area. Second time here and I haven’t been disappointed!
This place is great for families and friends to gather! The ambiance is very colorful with multiple areas to hang out. The garden out back is the best during the summer with sandy areas and in-door/open-door areas complete with vines and umbrellas shading you from the summer sun. The bartenders are awesome and always have good energy. During the end of the week they host karaoke and on Sundays is the drag show.
The location was convenient, not crowded and well ventilated. The food we had - a BBQ burger and a mushroom swiss burger - was very tasty and of a decent lunch size. The down side was that our server was not really paying attention to his customers - we were never offered refills of our drinks - and the prices were a little steep. Still, the good outweighed the bad, so I would recommend it.
The food was good, and the service was great. I just didnt care for the ambience, I guess you would say. I wasnt a fan of all the dollar bills tacked up all over the walls and ceiling. And Im no prude, but lets just say I wouldnt take my 5-year-old granddaughter for lunch or dinner in there with all of the crude things written on the table. Yeah, people are just having fun but some things are just a little too much.
Always enjoyed my dining experience here. I love their gumbo and crab cakes. There could be more salad and vegan options. Very attentive and friendly service each time in my experience.I went there yesterday at 3 pm with my son to grab a quick bite and found the staff inattentive, uncaring, slow and rude. A slim, leggy, blonde waitress wearing high shorts and striped t-shirt deserves a special mention for displaying these fine qualities. Our server Mark and the smiling pretty blonde who brought our food out were perfectly nice. Would love to see all the staff like these two.
Went to the purple parrot to order two fish sandwich dinners to take out. We walked up to the window and you would of thought we were invisible. The bar tender treated us poorly. He took our order, finely, and then acted like we werent there. Someone else brought our dinner out and no thanks, have a nice night, no enjoy. What has happened to a little courtesy. Would have selected no stars if that was an option. I guess if your not young and drink heavy you are of no Importance. Shame of this world!
My husband ordered a stuffed jalapeño burger and when he got it it was raw in the middle sent it back they brought out the SAME burger that he took a bite out of!? The waiter took for ever to come around to the table. A bad experience all together. Its a shame because the food otherwise was good. By the way there are five of us we spent 100 dollars and will never go back
Food was good. Server was great.
Such a laid back awesome atmosphere! The food is good and the drinks are incredible the guys actually know how to make a quality drink!! I got the “monkey bone” this time and it did not disappoint…We try to always make this a go to spot while at Rehoboth!!
Absolute BLAST! BEST place for karaoke!!!
Love love love the purple parrot! The hostess never stops going! We were seated outside and they gave us the table with the best breeze! Austin, our server was incredible! Food was top-notch like always and our dog, Luna was impressed with the service, and all the attention she got! Thank you so much! We can’t wait to come back ❤️ 🧡 💛 💚 💙 💜
