We hired Dave and Jimmi for our wedding on 7/23/22.Dave and Jimmi are incredible! My family and friends cannot stop talking about how much fun they had. Not only did they deliver on all our song requests but they also provided excellent communication leading up to and during the wedding to make sure all our needs were met. More than just a DJ but also helped coordinate day of and provided excellent dance instruction and entertainment. My family is already planning on us having future anniversary parties and hiring Dave and Jimmi again!

Since our relocation here from Maryland, the Rockin Horse Dance Barn has become our home studio for ballroom dancing. We come to the Friday night dances and rent the floor during the week for our private practice. We love Jimmi and Dave, the Barns owners. They are the kindest and sweetest people, beside being very proficient dance teachers.

I love the Dance Barn! I try to come every Friday night. Im coming from Federal Way, a little bit of a drive, but it is worth it!The lessons are great! I love learning, and its in a great environment to learn. Dave is great at teaching, showing, and making you laugh so you can settle some nerves. The environment is fantastic! There are plenty of line dances going all night so there is always something to do, even if youre new to the scene and dont know many of the dances. They announce what dances work with the songs they play so if youre like me, and dont know from the beat exactly what the dance is, you can have a clue.It truly is the highlight of my week to visit the Dance Barn! Thank you for the great experiences Ive had, and will continue to have at this great establishment!

My fiancee and I had so much fun getting prepared for the first dance at our wedding here. Dave was great and his sense of humor made it easy for me to loosen up during our private lesson...not easy to do for a CPA sometimes. Well definitely be back to take lessons in the future. If youre looking for a place to learn different dances, Id highly recommend coming to Rockin Horse Dance Barn. You wont regret it.

I have been taking dance lessons at the Rockin Horse Dance Barn for a year, now, and each class has been fun as well as good exercise. Ive taken Country 2-step, a complete series of Line Dances, East Coast Swing, and Night Club 2-step. Ive taken all my classes with Dave, and Ive enjoyed learning the dances because of Daves patience, quality instruction, and unfailing good humor. This dance barn seems like a unique experience on the East Side - I cant think of another place where adults can go learn to dance and have fun in an affordable, no pressure atmosphere.

Best dance floor in the area! Great dance instructors also. I love the non bar atmosphere and that people are there to dance and socialize. An added plus is the huge fans that keep the dance floor cool. Sure it gets hot dancing, but not like it could. I am going every chance I get! I started group lessons last Sunday and think I will really learn and improve on my dancing. Someday I hope to have a party there and rent the place out.

I started going to the Rockin Horse Dance Barn in January. I have had a blast at the Friday night country dances and the occasional Saturday ballroom/varietydances (check the website calendar as there isnt a dance EVERY Saturday.)I didnt know a soul on my first visit, and having danced with the same partner for many years, I felt like a beginner having to learn all over how to be a good follower. It took a couple times before I started getting asked regularly to dance a lot, but Im so glad I kept going back. After a couple months, I now have many new friends and dance partners. The crowd is friendly, there are all levels with many beginners, so that a novice doesnt have to worry about feeling intimidated. The huge wood floor is one of the best around.Friday nights is mostly country, although you can request any song from DJ Dave for any style of dance. There are both line dancers and partner dancing and there is a high level of dance etiquette and respect on the floor.I also started taking group lessons and have found that Dave is one of the best dance instructors Ive come across.I feel like I have a new home. I highly recommend trying this venue and hope you find it as enjoyable as I have the past few months.

Editing to add that my husband and I have continued to attend classes and the Every Friday Night Dance. Weve taken just about all of the classes listed below and theyre ALL fun! Ive even taken up Line Dancing. This is a wonderful place to dance at. And the regulars have made us feel welcomed and a part of their group. Weve really gotten to know some amazing people. If youre on the fence about coming... COME! Give it a shot! You really wont be disappointed!!This is a FANTASTIC place to learn any kind of couples dances. My husband and I have taken two styles so far (Jitterbug & Nightclub 2-step) and cant wait to take more styles (East Coast Swing, Country 2-step, Cha-Cha and maybe even West Coast Swing)!! Dave is the perfect instructor. Patient, thorough & comical. The staff is friendly and welcoming. And the Friday night dance with the lesson prior to the dance itself is SUPER fun! HIGHLY recommended!! Check em out!

It isnt quite a barn dance since there is a profesional polished hardwood floor, sound system and lights. The facility is themed like a country barn though.I started salsa lessons and was pleased with the friendly, skilled instructor. The room and floor space was large and inviting. It was cold when we started but 5 minutes into dancing I was glad the heat wasnt on any higher. Our first hour we were doing basic steps and 4 different holds. The instructor kept the mood light and more importantly, fun. I look forward to my next lesson and attending some extra practice sessions. They host lots of practice dances and even catered events. Ample parking once you find the studio tucked back in residential neighborhoods.

We took Country Two Step lessons from Dave for a couple years and loved every class. I highly recommend The Rockin Horse Dance Barn and Dave as an incredible teacher.

This place has a huge dance floor and big parking lot too! They have a great mix of music and dance styles. I love to line dance, country two-step, cha cha, swing, and more. Friday nights have a huge turnout and I get to dance to my favorite line dances and partner dances like the two-step, cowboy cha-cha, and more. Dave knows more line dances than anyone I know and often has line dancers in the center and partner dancing around the edge of the dance floor which is very nice! Saturdays when Ron is the DJ are great with fun mixers and always a great lesson before the dance starts. I go there as often as possible!

Ive been dancing at the Rockin Horse Dance Barn at least twice monthly for over seven years. The DJs play a very WIDE variety of dance music: country, Latin, waltz, etc. The Barn has a very large dance floor. There are dance lessons throughout the week, with public dances on Friday and Saturday nights. There is usually about a 50/50 split between males versus female dancers -- most are single. As the dance hall is alcohol free, the attendees are there to dance (with some socialization). A really good group of people. The DJ is always willing to take music requests.

Im not a regular here, however, every time I go I always have a great time. Everyone is friendly and very patient with my lack of experience! Plenty of leads and follows - some of which are extremely good. Lots of lesson choices and the dances are always well attended with a good variety of music/dance styles. Large dance floor allowing for plenty of room for my novice dance moves... LOL.

The best dance floor in the Puget Sound is the Rocking Horse! Ive taken lessons and danced on that floor for more than 12 years, and the music and other dancers that frequent it are the best! It is my favorite dance floor - I frequently drive from Bothell (past other dance halls) just to dance at the Rocking Horse Dance Barn!

A large beautiful dance floor for line dancing and couples dancing. Have been patronizing this dance barn for many years for lessons and Friday night dances. More for couples on Saturday nights. Owners are very accommodating and make it a fun place to go and enjoy yourself. No smoking and no alcohol. Yay!

I recently returned to the activity of country western dancing. I picked the Rocking Horse Dance Barn (RHDB) for its proximity. What a pleasant surprise. When I walked in the place was intimidating. The dance floor is really barn size. The decor is western and you might think you walked into a dance hall in TX. The difference is people show up to dance. It is alcohol-free and probably appeals to those who want to socialize without the effects alcohol has on dancing and socializing. The instructors are very personable and professional. Personalities are generous with all being willing to talk to your issue whether it is personal or technical. They do not pry, and offer only their experience. The dances taught vary from the Lindy to the Hustle to the West Coast Swing. There are also classes in Latin dance (salsa, tango) and all the western variations on swing and polka. I have found the Line Dance classes to be great exercise in the morning - since I have retired (wish it had been part of my healthcare package.) Most classes also address dance etiquette for large-floor and small-floor facilities as well as some regional differences to style variations.Friday nights are usually well attended, and youll see the beginners (self) as well as people who have danced competitively. If you are there for the activity/exercise you will find the DJs all have suggestions as to what kind of dancing goes best with the various artists and music. You will also find that most people will dance with you, if you ask nicely.Hope this helps. And, remember to dance as if no one was looking!

Over the years my husband and I have had the pleasure to taking part in dance lessons (group and private), weekend dances, and socials at the RockinHorse Dance Barn. Dave, Jimmie, other instructors and guests DJs are all very skilled and personable. They have a great variety of music and dances. The sound system is terrific. Best of all it is just the best dance floor in the area. Not only is well taken care of but it is just really BIG! There is room for many dancers without undo crowding. They have also recently added air-conditioning making the warm evenings more comfortable.
