First time going clubbing after turning 21, the people really make or break it! Saturday night crowd was amazing. So many happy queer people, everyone was having an amazing time.The reviews are all right though. It was hot AF!! There were fans placed around the venue, and they practically had a line by them. It was a hot day out which definitely didn’t help, so I have a feeling colder outdoor temperatures and a lighter crowd might make the inside less smothering.Bar tenders were stunning & so kind. Fast service, good drinks, generous pours! Average drink prices for our current economy. The decorations were fun, the DJ played a decent set with only a few mildly disappointing bass drops.I’d definitely recommend going for the crowd alone!

Way too hot on the upper floor when it gets crowded. Lower floor is more comfortable temperature wise but the music is too loud down there to hear yourself think. We went upstairs for the drag show and we had to leave halfway through the first performance cause my friend was starting to have heatstroke. Also the fact that the walls are covered in only RuPauls drag race queens instead of like, local performers, is somewhat confusing.

The vibe is great at Papis ! Super cute decor , really good food, and music. I love that they have a dance floor & bar upstairs and downstairs. Our waiter was nice & attentive as well. We stayed for the drag show tonight, which was fun. Ill definitely go back.

Its super fun here the only complaint is the heat. I get crowded places can get hot but it felt like there was no ac in there. Like it was cooler outside than inside. Otherwise a great place

The foods sucks, the frozen margaritas are weak & it is extremely hot! They have good vibes some nights & the drag show would be more enjoyable if there was more space. I distinctly remember the last time we went the dance floor was dead & DJ Statistics asked for requests and when my partner tried she said that the DJ was hella rude to her. If you need help doin ur job u should at least be nice about it. The bartenders are the best!!! I think this place would benefit from setting two different tones on each floor, with the more chill vibes being downstairs.

So, Ive been here twice with the intention of staying to party most of the night, and both times had to leave within 1-2 hrs because I couldnt stand the music. Amateur rapping over a mediocre beat or a remix of a mainstream pop/RnB song, and its always played too loud to hear your own thoughts, with poor equalizing. If the music was like 25% quieter and/or equalized and mixed professionally itd be a great spot. But they need to fire their DJ before Ill go there again.

Loved the $5 Margaritas for happy hour & fun karaoke vibes! Wonderful place for dancing or chilling with a fun crowd. Loved all the queer, friendly & beautiful bartenders. This is a Spot!

It’s sooooo hot in there… probably should work on getting some kinda ventilation or ac system!!! And the bathroom line was ridiculously long. We left out and went to use the bathroom outside. It was much quicker !!!….. Owner claims they have a new HVAC system but while they are busy responding to reviews, they probably should work on getting a refund for the so-called new system. I’ve been in plenty of packed clubs and it has never been that hot.🤷🏽‍♂️ Also, while you may have three bathrooms, they all are Small and always have a line but I guess watered down overpriced drinks will run through a person💁🏽‍♂️

Please answer my calls or give me my keys back. within tonight. you took my keys and said you’d give them back at the end of the night however when i left the bar the bouncer who took my keys wasn’t at the door anymore. so now i’m locked out of my apartment. if you call me back within the night i’ll update my review but honestly why did you say you’d give my keys back if you wouldn’t even be there to give them back. i’m locked out of my apartment and i have work in the morning.

Nice place, could use better music/ DJ’s. I enjoyed the music selection more at some straight bars I went out to that night

Everything was great! The Queens, People , hosts, bartenders, security were all great! 1st time coming and it was LIT! The only downside was the downstairs restroom. I don’t care too much about men and women in the same bathroom. However it would be nice if the stall door could lock. I would visit again!!

Cuban food was great. Nice drink menu and decor. It was their first drag bingo night.Suggestion: the performers and staff should interact more with the customers.

Quite possibly the worst brunch that I have ever been to. The food was completely inedible, several tables never received their food before the end of the drag brunch, and there was ONE server for the ENTIRE restaurant. Also no working air conditioning.Queer tip to the straight owners: have good service, get people drunk and they’ll spend more money. But you’re straight and fleecing the queer community, so I get that it’s hard.

What a great new space in Richmond! Papi’s has an amazing Drag-focused decor and culture. Kudos to the Londoños for creating an amazing homage to South Beach right here in Richmond. What a treasure!

Some of the worst food I have had in Richmond. Was both cold and burnt at the same time. We went for drag brunch and our food arrived after the show had already ended. The entertainers were amazing, but does not excuse the terrible management and inedible food.

Firstly, I would like to express my admiration for the vibrant atmosphere fostered by Papis, a venue that showcases the city of Richmonds commitment to nurturing a unique and diverse community. As a person who used to enjoy nights out and the club scene, I appreciate the passion with which this establishment embraces its cultural role.However, I would like to raise a concern regarding the ethical implications of the consistently loud music played during late hours within our shared proximity. While I acknowledge that Richmond lacks specific regulations dictating the distance between clubs and residential areas, I wish to highlight the presence of a small community residing above the club Papis. Specifically, the parties held at Papis each weekend and impromptu parties held during the week outside of the clubs regular operating hours, allowing performers to express themselves through music from Friday to Saturday night (9 pm - 2 am), contribute to the issue at hand.My primary concern pertains to the escalating volume of music throughout the night, particularly on occasions such as nights outside of regular business hours. I comprehend that the vibrancy and liveliness of the club contribute significantly to its success; however, I question the necessity of excessively loud music during off-peak hours. During these hours, I experience vibration inside of my dwelling as well as outside in the halls, loud banging noises as well as arguing in the stairwell and people forcing themselves onto the roof due to Papis lack of security on their level of the building. While I respect the cultural significance, I believe that consideration for both the internal and external community is imperative in nurturing a harmonious environment.As a dedicated employee of the state who unexpectedly found residence above a club, I am keen to address the issue of the excessive noise from Papis. My earnest request is for Club Papis management to contemplate the impact of their music on the tenants residing above, especially on nights when the club is not supposed to be operational (Monday-Thursday nights). My sole desire, as a resident of the apartments above Papis, is for the volume of music to be moderated, taking into account the safety and well-being of not only myself but the other residents residing above the club premises.I sincerely appreciate your attention to this matter and hope for a constructive resolution that ensures a peaceful coexistence between the club and its neighboring residents.Thank you for your time and understanding.

Insanely beautiful atmosphere, gorgeous decoration , the attention to detail is really showcased with everywhere you look. My only issue were prices, and the advertisement of the brunch. Came in with a large group and we were immediately accommodated but we learned while there that it was almost 30 per person per entree and weren’t allowed to order outside of this. Also that the advertising for $1 mimosas was only included in the 30 dollar brunch. This wouldn’t have been too much of an issue with options to order outside of this special as some people in our group weren’t drinking but still wanted to eat. Besides this, it was lovely and we enjoyed the atmosphere! Definitely will be back.

A great queer bar to visit while in Richmond. They have a bunch of delicious cocktails and their fries really are famous!

The drag show & the drinks were awesome! But unfortunately, I cant say the same for the food. I only order wings, safe right. Nope! They were cooked too hard, and the meat just tasted rotted for some reason.

Great atmosphere, good food, and drink variety. The drag show was entertaining and quality. It is smaller than expected but very cute and there is enough room to dance.

Went there on a Friday night and had an excellent time! The dj is great, people actually dance and the drinks are good. Drag bingo is also super fun. If youre queer and in Richmond definitely go to Papis!

NIce club.... VERY young crowd, and the drag show was great! More of a female-oriented crowd. But BEWARE... the floors were EXTREMELY sticky everywhere! Downstairs, upstairs, all over. I lost a shoe, TWICE

Papis does it on their grand opening and had a really good time. Very interesting aesthetic very camp. The drink menu is very extensive lots of Miami themed cocktails. I didn’t get the chance to order the food but everything looked pretty good. Personally I was confused on the layout of the space is it a restaurant is it a club however I digress overall very good first impression. Will be back once they get the air condition fixed

Super friendly bartenders and drag queens!!! LGBTQIA+ friendly. Great music and an awesome atmosphere. My ultimate favorite club/bar.

Cool spot. Really fun bar. Great music and dancing. Drinks were a bit expensive but large so I wasn’t too mad. The staff were a little slow even though it wasn’t super crowded. Overall a really cool place.

I went on a Saturday night and it was super hot and not enough space for a drag show truly. The show was a little dry and the smell of marijuana was terrible to me. Not every person enjoys that smell sorry. I won’t be back. Babes is more fun and I even love Godfrey’s much more. Also where were all the papis?

Best club ive been to in rva!!! loved the vibes and the music and the diverse crowd. kind staff. had a slightly chiller upstairs and a packed dance floor downstairs and again GREAT music choice, much better than any of the other places ive been out dancing. already excited to go back!

Their drinks are on fire!!!! This is the legit spot to pre game. Best drinks i have had in the richmond party scene. Their DJ tho.. not as bomb as one would wish. Defff stopping by for more of their night time meals too, theyre huge, tasty and prompt. Loved their drinks tho!

So much fun and the entire place is gorgeous! The attention to detail is not lost on any area-from the bar to the bathroom! Super nice staff and great brunch! Definitely a must go!

Drinks are expensive and the DJ kept playing weird mash ups but overall sm fun. Staff was great and bathrooms were pretty clean. Going back next week!

Great place great vibe for Richmond.... Finally Richmond has an upscale place for all to be their best selves. Happy hour has 5 $ margaritas and 5 $ house drinks. Love Papis
