The bar that has it all: several bathrooms, pool tables, outdoor patio and a wide selection of drinks and appetizers. The outdoor patio is a great spot for a first date. Its quieter then inside to chit chat and get to know each other better. Also, the chairs are comfy. I would recommend not ordering any complicated drinks. The black Superman I ordered, didnt taste like it had any alcohol in it, but the Jameson and ginger beer was heavy-handed. It could be that they were made by two different bartenders. Great place only has one pool table but at least they have one with a nice out side section in the back, drinks where good and reasonably priced AMF $9

You get this feeling when you first enter and its overwhelming. Kinda like being touched inappropriately by your minister or making out with your dad for the first time. Trust me, going to this place will most likely scar you emotionally for life. I mean unless your into that kinda stuff? Me personally I wouldnt wish that feeling like this place WILL give you on my worst enemy.

Something about this place, but since I entered it felt I wasn’t welcomed here.Maybe me not being white. But yeah energy was off, service was slow, security had an attitude issue for no apparent reason. Just a grungy run down place. Yard house and others around town are way better.

The bartender is a stud, holding down the fort solo with over 20 patrons. He could make a wide menu of upscale drinks without peeping recipes, very impressed!

I was at Onyx Sunday (9/24/23) night. My son, a friend, and I were playing pool and hanging out. One of the regulars (Caucasian man) came up to my son and wanted to wrestle him. My son said no, he is just trying to play pool and have a good time. The man proceeded to grab my sons arm and get aggressive so my son told him to leave him alone he just wants to play pool. So the man grabs my sons arm again, and attempts to put him in a headlock. My son then tries to push the man off him and they begin to wrestle to the ground. The female bartender sees them scuffling and runs over and punches my son in the face multiple times. Finally my son and the man stop wrestling and while the man is laughing thinking its funny, the bartender repeatedly grabs my son, yelling at him and kicking him out of facility, while she does nothing to the other man involved. Then she came up to me and got aggressive in my face, yelling and cussing. She was belligerent and aggressive. I noticed also that she had been drinking several shots while I was there so I can only imagine how much she drank prior to our arrival. Her actions were very unacceptable. She treated my son like he was the trouble maker and he was just minding his business. Had my son been white and a regular his treatment would have been different. Shes racist and it clearly came out that night. All of her anger was directed solely to my son and myself. I will never go back there and will make sure this story is told to whoever will listen, including the owner of the establishment, who needs to be aware at the kind for racial discrimination going on at that bar.

My friend got sucker punched by the bartenders buddy because their feelings got hurt. My friend went to shake the bartenders hand and the bartenders buddy blindsided my friend and proceeded to kick him on the head while he was on the ground. You people are pathetic and I cant wait for the day you try that on the wrong one and get popped, soft mfs cant even square up with another man when you got a problem. Karma will be coming for you POS.

Ok so we walked in on a Saturday and there were only two people inside. Ok maybe it was slow. But the bartender Natalie was immediately rude and condescending. The two people there were clearly regulars and they did not like new people. We immediately realized why no one else was there. Good luck Onyx. Hopefully those two people will keep you in business.

I went there once. The SECOND time I came in, the bartender remembered my name, my drink, and had one ready in the time it took me to say yep! and walk from the front door to a barstool. Best service Ive experienced in all of California.

The Onyx Club could be considered a dive, right, but is elevated by unexpected elegance.Does that make any sense?Dark wood, onyx fixtures, (duh) clean looking brickwork, an eclectic jukebox, a friendly bartender, and an old world feel mash up to provide a comfy atmosphere.The food only gets 4 stars bc its all fried, (I think) I would have liked a cold shrimp cocktail or a cheese plate but yknow, whatchaagonnado?We chatted up a couple of locals and there was (almost) a singalong for a satisfying midday oasis from the current crisis (name that one for yourself 🙄)Worth a stop. Worth a return stop!

I frequent this bar since its a ten minute walk from my house. I have never had a bad time there.

I use to come here many years ago. Atmosphere still great had to come with my daughter & niece. Special thanks to the front door security. You know why!

We went for a Halloween party and had a great time. Good live music, but the drink selection was semi limited.

Very sad environment, no music and no one looked happy to be there. Pretty dead for a friday night too. Drinks were good though and they did have security

I usually have a fantastic time when I visit the Onyx Club, even though occasionally there are strange people there. In the end, though, I believe this is a great location to dance, have fun, and simply hang out with your friends.

Love this place. Local for 25 years and things have changed a lot in this train town. Even though the Onyx has changed with the times, the people havent.... And thats a good thing. Shots to the homegirl Natalie.

I was accused of trying to run out on my tab for no reason whatsoever, Which is ridiculous considering I left my debit card with the bartender. The bartender then accused me of being rude and demanded I give her a large tip or she wont give me my card back. The bouncer then tried to push me out of the bar without returning me card. Horrible place, horrible treatment of customers, I will never be returning again.

Great vibe here. The bar service was awesome, the bartender was not too heavy handed on the drinks. Two pool tables and a dance floor with a nice spacious outdoor area if the club area is not your style.

We have come here for many years and seen a lot of changes in what type of place they want to be, but one thing has been constant and that is the bartenders, which is why we keep coming back. Natalie and Joey, you guys are the best!

I like the fact they have a outdoor patio area if you need air w/ heaters to keep warm. Also like that they dont get petty like most clubs caring about if your wearing Jordans or a hat. Will definitely be going back

I am a bartender myself, but I like how the onyx bartenders serve here. I had a blast, great environment of nice people I will definitely recommend this place to anyone who want to experience a fun night to remember. ....THE ONYX CLUB ROCK!

Excellent casual dance club w decent hip hoppity dj. Some excellent bartenders, one not so much. Needs more craft or local beers, less corporate swill

Bartender would not give me my change back it was my sister birthday so i went all out but I was completely sober I bought shots for our group and of course I expected my change back but was told someone might have took it or I grabbed it while i waited politely the bartender kept telling me oh wait Ill get to you twice my sister gave me the change that was due but thats not the point he/she tried to take advantage of me and im going to tell everybody that i know that onyx takes advantage of you whether you are sober or drunk👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

Music TRASH. Security TRASH. And discriminates on who they let in after midnight. Typical Roseville bar. Nothing special, small and racist.

Its my favorite bar. I go whenever i get the chance. Employees are friendly, music is great, friendly people. Definitely should go check the place out.

The Onyx Club had been under investigation since November when Roseville police say they got a tip that bar staff were involved in narcotics sales while working.Undercover agents with Roseville police and the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control were able to buy cocaine. Several violations were documented, police say.As a result of the investigation, the bar’s ownership has agreed to several penalties, including: a 30-day suspension (beginning on Jan. 3, 2019), three year suspended revocation, limitations of alcohol sales to the patio after 10 p.m. from Sunday through Wednesday and 1 a.m. Thursday through Saturday, and the hiring of one licensed and uniformed security guard on Fridays and Saturdays.

At one time I managed the onyx back in the mid 90s. This place is very sentimental to me. Eliose the owner at the time was very dear to all of us. Unfortunately she passed a few years ago, the onyx will always hold a place in my heart. God bless you eliose

Place has been here for along time. Weekend nightclub offers hip hop atmosphere. Super fun crowd. I had a great time

It’s a low key chill spot, affordable drinks okay music selection with bomb dance floor. Outside bartender was cool for the most part.

Every time I come here I have a good time, bartenders are great.

I always have a blast when I go to the Onyx Club sometimes there are creepy people there but you just walk away and have fun overall I think this is a great place to dance have fun and just hang out with your friends

Bartenders are great and up to speed as long as its not that busy. Definitely would recommend to anyone trying to have a good night. 💜💜💜

I dont know about you but this place looks nothing like the photos portray. Cool for a bar but a lounge is stretching it a bit far.

No respect for Designated Drivers whatsoever.Waiting outside three and a half hours for my party.Will definitely never recommend the Onyx Club in Roseville again.

On two separate occasions I went to this bar had one or two beers and the next day I was charged $25 and $30 this also happened to my brother once here. Not a good place to go.

Huge Halloween party there last night. Capacity way beyond 50%. I don’t understand how rules only apply to some businesses and patrons.

Took 20 mins for 2 beers took another 15 for some shots super slow not to nice staff and never got the wings I paid for
