Great overall time at 526 as its my favorite place to go for some live music & good drinks, however, we wanted to go outside for 10 mins & the hostess cleared the entire table without asking any of us & I let the server know.Noelle our server was great but other than her, my experience was not great & not sure if i’ll be returning myself.
Went for valentines day. Pianists were really good, lively, knew a variety of songs. Food was decent, I give it a B. Only problem was with wait staff. Unfortunately, we had a waitress who was on her very first shift and was kind if clueless. I dont blame her, that was a bad choice for management to put her on that day. It was our first time there so it definitely affected our experience.
Absolutely love this place!!! The music is always on point. Trivia night was a blast, Julie kept it interesting and engaging! The piano players are so talented and have so many tricks up there sleeve to keep you entertained, Avery our server was the best- such a bubbly welcoming personality. Could not recommend this place enough!
I didnt get food this time, but have eaten here before and remember the food was great. Who doesnt like dueling Pianos? I mean comeon now. Always a good time when you have a piano or 2 playing with drums beating in between. Great place to go hangout, have some drinks with some friends, and maybe hear a song from your past or something new all while the piano man hits the keys. We shared the MONSTEROUS Mule which I believe was 94oz and I am definitely feeling it today.
It was our first royal oak dinner stroll. 4 Different restaurants. The First three out of four were great. The 4th 526 Main When we walk through the front door we got a vibe that they didnt even want us there. They prove that with the service being horrible. Had to say something to the Waitress twice to get service. Other people walked in behind us sat down and was served before we ever were. Sorry, this doesnt fly with my party and myself. Will not be back. Do not recommend.
Fantastic New Years Eve at the 526 Piano Bar. For the event they had buffet style food. Not great but not bad. Served its purpose. The drinks were good, albeit a bit overpriced for the sizes we got. Im giving a bit of a pass on those things as it was New Years Eve and maybe they were accounting for the large crowd that was definitely there. The entertainers were amazing!! All the staff was friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be back!
We had an absolutely amazing time at 526 Main!! They have plenty of servers so we were never lacking for service. All of the staff were so into the music with singing and dancing. The musicians were talented, fun and amazing. We will definitely recommend this place and we hope to return!!
My husband and I went on a Saturday night for dueling pianos. It was not as expected, they each play a song that the audience writes down on a piece of paper and even help each other out so its not really a duel. They always play the ones with money, I was there from 7pm until 10:30pm and my two songs were never played. extremely loud! I got a headache when I got back home. Its so loud that its impossible to converse. Service was excellent, coming by regularly, pleasant, and busboys walk around and get the empty glasses, but when it got busy later in the evening it took forever to get service. We were seated by the window and there was absolutely no way to get the servers attention, we had to wait for her to walk by. We went upstairs to the nightclub and it was dead. The music was good. The raspberry mojito is awful, its just raspberry. The chocolate mojito was really good, but tasted like Baileys. We got the trio dip and its awful. The chips were bad too, and had a weird flavor to them. Never coming back here. Also, the food is extremely overpriced.
This place is a lot of fun to go to with a group of friends. Make sure to reserve a spot in advance as its not very big and gets very busy. There is a cover at the door. Parking is available in a paid lot across the street. Food is very good chips and dip appetizer is great for the whole table. Really enjoyed the burgers and flat breads as well. Bring cash for the pianos or have venmo ready.
We came tonight (Thursday) to see the dueling piano and trivia with fusion entertainment! It was SO fun! The piano players were incredible and Julie kept the audience engaged and having fun. Will definitely come again! Shout out to Jennifer for being AMAZING. She learned our names which was so impressive! Bonus that there is karaoke right upstairs at tequila blue after!
The only reason this is even a three is because of the music. The music is phenomenal. Fun and entertaining. We sat there 10-15 minutes before someone even came over to welcome us and take a drink order. I had to go over to the host to let them know that no one has been over. The food was mediocre at best. The steak bites we ordered medium come well done and burnt. The pizza and garlic flatbread had potential but there was no reach taste to it. Just the concept of what it SHOULD taste like. The burger and fries were decent. We waited a good bit for our drinks and even longer for our food. The drinks were good. I would recommend espresso martini. The Bourbon Sour was just ok. Not bad, but just ok. I wouldn’t order it again. I couldn’t complain if I wanted to because the server only came over like twice in 2 hours. The other two times I had to flag her down. All the tables are high tops. Not ok with older people or those with accessibility issues. On top of slow service we had to pay a cover of $15. $10 for men, $5 for women. The shining star is the dueling pianos. The artists are so talented. Tempted to give them another chance. Without the music I wouldn’t.
Amazing spot for a night out with the crew! Great atmosphere, and Hannah our server had us covered with anything we might need. Entertainment was top notch, and the food was delicious. Would definitely go back!
Came with a group of friends for Dueling Piano Trivia followed by Karaoke upstairs. Julie, Dylan, and Fusion Entertainment always put on a great event and tonight’s did not disappoint! Trivia was a blast, the food was great, and our server/bartender Jennifer gave us superior level service that was the cherry on top of my Shirley Temple and a fabulous Thursday night out. We will definitely be coming back!
If you are looking for a fun non club experience go around 7p, the atmosphere is relaxed with an older late 20s and up crowd. Anytime after 9p is more of a club since there is an actual night club upstairs. It was a fun time, food was good. Coconut shrimp, the egg rolls and the wings are all delicious. Jen the bartender is the best! She makes delicious signature drinks, cant say enough about her!
The entertainment was excellent, 5-Star fun, and for 4 adults it was a nice night of entertainment and food. A tad pricey on the food for basic bar food but it did the job.My issue with the venue is the cover at the door. I made a reservation and in the text it stated the following: Please note there is an entry fee of $5 for ladies and $10 for gentlemen at the door. No where does it say cash only, then they tell you that you can use their ATM machine for a fee. That is just unethical not letting the customer have the chance to bring their own cash for the entrance fee.Secondly, I really didnt think they charged less for women than men but when I arrived that was the case. Management should be in tuned that it is 2024 and the gender based pricing is just gross. At a base level if I was a modern-socially conscience man, I would be pretty upset about the gender based discrimination, requiring me to pay MORE to enter and get access to the same experience. In addition, this practices not only forces gender non-conforming folx to acknowledge an identity that may not be theirs but also reinforces age old heteronormative and misogynistic attitudes about using women to lure men who might be heavier spenders into the business. This becomes the collateral damage of what might be a theoretically applicable money making principle to segment the buyer to maximize revenue. I say, find a better way to make money.I expect better business values overall for a venue in Royal Oak. While gender based discriminatory pricing isnt illegal at a federal level and it is left to the state or locality, counties like Miami-Dade have made it illegal since the late 1990s, showing how antiquated at best this practice still is.Please do better, I would love to be a guest again sometime. I do not recommend until they change this practice.
Best live music show I’ve seen in a while! The musicians are all so incredibly talented! They kept the audience engaged and played everyone’s requests. The drinks were awesome & the appetizers were good too!
5 stars for the entertainment, 0 stars for the reservation system. We booked a reservation several weeks in advance for 12 ladies, for a very special occasion. The reservation was confirmed by the venue, but when we arrived it was clear that they had made zero attempt to actually reserve us a table. They ended up cramming us into a 10 top (with not enough chairs as we had people) about 40 minutes after our reservation time.
The reason why I gave it 2 stars is 3 reasons, I usually come here and enjoy my time, but yesterday, I didnt. The first reason is that at the entrance, we have been asked a racist question. The second, the waiter, blonde Sara, did not like my tip amount and gave me an attitude, and the third we ordered food, and I got stomach poisoning at night, I took 2 medicines to be able to sleep. I wish I can get my money back. This is an encouraging review, so the owner knows why the place is going downhill!
Specialty drinks were pretty expensive. Beer was decently priced. Thats how they make their money. Wasnt as entertained as I hoped to be. Overall, it was okay.
I purchased tickets in advance for my fiancé and I to celebrate Valentines Day here based upon the description that was outlined for the holiday. Upon arrival, there wasnt any type of organization at the front door to be checked in by the greeter. There was a massive group of people crowded around the young lady that was responsible for checking people in. She had no sense of direction to facilitate the mass group of people standing in front of her.My fiancé and I took it upon ourselves to facilitate some type of organization at the front door to formulate a line to create some type of organization. We waited for over an hour to be seated among other guests. Our reservation was scheduled for 7:45 pm. and we were not seated until after 8:45 and the entertainment had already begun. UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!Once we were finally seated, we had to hunt down a waitress for water because no one came to our table for over 20 minutes. We had no idea what was really going on in terms of ordering food or drinks (which we paid for in advance). We did not enjoy our food because it was cold by the time it arrived to our table. After we finished our one cocktail, we left with our uneaten food on the table. This was the worst experience of a lifetime. Needless to say, we will never return to this establishment and will NEVER recommend it.To all those that took the time to read this review, PLEASE TAKE HEED!This review has been left to warn everyone thats looking for a nice date night with your partner.Everything that Ive stated is factual and not based off of feelings. We are requesting a refund immediately. I dont see an option to reach out to the owner for my request.
Made a reservation for Valentine’s Day showing. Took 40 minutes of standing crammed in there with tons of people to get seated. Nothing was ready. Was served food with no silverware. Took 15 minutes to get one drink upon sitting. Had to leave before the main course even arrived. Took forever just to pay for my drink so I have the freedom to leave. Complete unorganized disaster. Was really rough on my partner and I’s Valentine’s Day as we drove from a long way to make it. Emailed about a refund, if I get it I’ll take this review down.
My date and I really enjoyed our time there last night!!! Great music, and our server, Langston, was amazing!! He gave us the perfect amount of attention with a great personality! We will definitely be back!!
I had so much fun here! The guys are really engaging, and funny. The wait staff was great too. I only had one issue, I wanted to tip the waitress with cash (used to work waiting tables, so I know most cases when you tip with the card, they have to wait on the money, AND its taxed), the waitress came right over to ask if something was wrong with the service. This was cool, I didnt mind, I let the person know wed collectively be leaving cash once we left (we were still ordering more drinks), and I got asked a few more times. It was a little uncomfortable, but we assured them that we werent going to leave without tipping (was still waiting on people with us to leave their cash). It makes me think that people must not tip like they should here, making the staff a little jumpy about tips. If youre reading this, TIP YOURE SERVER!! Still giving a five star review, just thought Id bring it up for people coming here.
Went for the NYE party pre bought tickets notes said to arrive early and doors opened at 6. Arrived to the entry line at 6:10 and entered about 6:15. No seats anywhere. Did note piled up chairs and tables pushed to the edges but you couldn’t use those. Music was fun, appetizer bar food was provided in a buffet service and the staff was hustling to fill those up. Left after an hour of standing. They would have planned better for this event and had more seating. Quite disappointed in the poor planning they of the management. Upstairs bar service was fast but they couldn’t make any cocktails. Only “simple drinks”.
Had a blast! Everything about this place is great. The service, food, drinks, and the talent. Charles was a wonderful host. He checked on us multiple times to make sure we were having a good time. Our server was very sweet and made sure we were taken care of. The piano guys were hilarious, friendly, and so very talented. I could listen to them all day! They played a variety of songs, created fun banter between the crowd and other band members. If you are looking for something fun and engaging, definitely check this place out! Even if you are solo and just want to sit back and enjoy the show, check this out. Everyone we met here including staff and other patrons could not have been more friendly and welcoming. Hope to return again soon!
I am in the place now. Service sucks; waiter cant be bothered to take our order. When we were FINALLY able to order, the ordered meals never showed up. AVOID this place.
Made a reservation for Valentines day, prepaid fully + gratuity for main floor seating. Its been 40 minutes and we havent been seated. We were told they they dont have a table for us at the main floor so they sent us upstairs and the tables arent ready yet. Theyre still accepting reservations on OpenTable for the next hour!! Disrespectful of peoples time
We love going to this Piano Bar. The people playing the instruments and singing are always fun to listen to entertaining. Love the music they sing. Get the crowds into it too.The food is decent. The drinks are okay but lots of choices on the menu. They need a small dance floor down on the main floor because people love to dance to the variety of music. There is an upstairs bar, dance floor and restrooms. The music was for the younger crowd and more just remixes. Very loud. Not for an older crowd. Parking is just behind the building or across a street but railroad tracks are right there too. Lots of other businesses nearby.
Love coming to this bar on dueling piano nights. The show has always been good, but it has gotten that much better since the remodel. The pianists are talented, entertaining, and just fun to watch. Definitely hard to get a table so reservations are a must on weekends, but that’s not a problem. Management and staff are great as well. Will continue to be back!
Thanks so much to the amazing staff for making our friends 50th Birthday Celebration Perfect!!! Everyone had a fantastic time! They were extremely accommodating and so helpful! Music was great!
Wish I could rate higher but this was a horrendous experience. Had reservations which they confirmed several times. Upon arrival we found out they seated us upstairs with folding tables and chairs. That was absolutely pathetic inexcusable and not what you would expect from an establishment. Then the birthday party of 60 seated in front of us never sat leaving us unable to see the stage nor the show. The food was absolutely disgusting. I sent the quesadilla back; soggy and I couldn’t even attempt to guess what meat was in it. The steak tacos was missing the steak; nothing more than just peppers with a dash of avocado. Flatbread was chewy with morsels of what I believe may have been chicken….definitely cooked in a microwave or possibly leftovers from the prior month. The so called 96 oz blue pineapple concoction contain no alcohol whatsoever but hey guess we paid $55 for a rubber duck! The entire night left us with a $500 credit card charge for 6 people but that didn’t include the door cover charge….that was also completely absurd. I asked several times for an itemized receipt….finally after 20 minutes we didn’t want to wait any more and hit the road. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, maybe Youngers when they have their dueling piano shows. If you still go, be prepared to pay a cover, sneak in your own flask, DO NOT EAT (that’s the most important thing to remember), and do not expect to see the stage. I do not recommend this establishment to anyone including my worst enemy.
What a fun night out! I was a little shocked by how small the venue was but it turned out to be what made it that much better. The atmosphere allowed for guests to join together and celebrate, sing, and dance.
So much fun for birthdays!! My boy Langston did an awesome job serving a table of 20 in a loud environment. 10/10!
6/10/23: Stopped in for the piano bar to celebrate our friends birthday. Upon arrival we were greeted at the door by the security staff- they were fun and engaging. Once we entered, we didn’t have a reservation, we went to the bar to hang out, the bartenders were great and we enjoying the venue. A little while later I chatted with hostess, Avery, to inquire about seating options, and she went above and beyond to have us seated at a table, right up front, within about 10 minutes. We greatly enjoyed the piano and drummer performers and our server, Jenna, was fun and attentive. We had a great time! Thank you for a fun evening!
This place is a lot of fun! Just being there puts you in a good mood. The staff is friendly and efficient with getting you your order. Theres lots of laughs to be had as the patrons sing along with the musicians. It does get pretty loud at times so youll definitely have to speak up for conversation, but its the place youll want to be (:
Walked in waited to grab a booth, finally did then it all went downhill from there...wait staff ignored our table, clearly walked by us three time, no staff to buss the table (sat there with a dirty table for a half hour). We finally got the waitress to clear off table for her to jus ignore us some more(obviously shes not working for money here, must be her good looks shes paying her bills with) finaly got her to the table ordered one drink ciroc berry cosmo two limes, she came back with drink in hand no napkins I was charged 10.07 for this drink, hour later still being ignored we finally recieve another waitress ordered same drink and she comes back with a bill of 13.25, umm one hour and my same drink is 3.00 more? Needless to say I wont be coming back to this establishment EVER! Royal Oak has become the below mediocre hang out for young adults looking for a good time too bad theyre too young to realize how much theyre being ripped off!
The Groupon allotted one appetizer ($9) two entrees ($13) and one dessert ($9.) Thats $44 worth of food for the $35 I paid for the Groupon. We had a reserved table but they put us in the corner where we couldn’t see the show. The waitress came over after about 5 minutes. She told us she was our beer list but didnt tell us any of the options. I asked if they had anything specifically vegan or could be made vegan. She said, No. Honey this is Mexican cuisine. I know vegan food can be hard to come by but obviously a salad or a side of vegetables wouldnt be difficult to put together. We ordered the Mexican fries as an appetizer (which turned out to be chili cheese fries.) We asked for half of the plate as it normally comes and the other half with just plain fries. They brought out 2 plates of fries, one as the regular Mexican fries and the other as cheese fries. Obviously cheese isnt vegan so I mentioned this to the waitress and said if theres nothing that can be done its not a big deal. She said she was really busy (we were 1 of 5 tables in the entire restaurant) and had asked her manager to take care of this one for her. She said she would go back and get this sorted for us. We thought it was just a funny mix up that maybe the lines got crossed. We got a plain plate of unsalted fries a few minutes later. I ate these until I found a curly hair then decided I didnt need anymore fries. We were told the fries had been comped. We had been there for about 40 minutes before our entree order was taken. My husband ordered a pizza and I got the fajitas with no meat and no cheese. Our plates came out and there was cheese on it. I figured I had already caused enough trouble so I would just eat around it. The vegetables that came with it were mostly onions and a few peppers. They werent salted or flavored at all and there was no salt and pepper on the table. It was incredibly flavorless and felt like a true sign of someone that is following a recipe rather than given the freedom to cook a well flavored meal. To be fair it all looked like pretty poor quality food to begin with. My husband got The Cali pizza which turned out to be more like a flatbread than a pizza. After 15 minutes with our entrees our waitress came over and noticed that we hadnt eaten much. She asked if everything was ok and my husband said he just wasnt into it. She pushed him for a bit more and he said It doesnt taste good. I think muenster is a weird choice to put solely on a pizza. She said, Well its our house cheese. Let me go talk to my manager. We insisted it was really not a problem we were just ready for the check. A minute or two later the manager came out and frustratedly asked us what seemed to be the problem. We told him it really wasn’t a big deal we were just done with our food. He pressed us for more. My husband said it tasted like poor quality food and the way it was put together didn’t make sense taste wise. The manager said he was disappointed to hear that and he would comp 25% of the pizza. Then he turned to me, I was clearly not interested in discussing this again especially when I felt like I was being scolded. I told him about the hair in the fries and he said, “Yeah, we’ve already comped the fries for you.” As if I shouldn’t have mentioned the hair again. I told him about the cheese and he sort of brushed it off as if he realized he had already heard these issues before. He capped off our interaction by saying, “I’m really disappointed to hear you’re having such a bad time. We really never have stuff like this happen (the reviews say otherwise!) so I’m very surprised. Did you at least like the music?” We said sure just to make him leave but to be honest one dude was super rude. Neither were great singers and every song was played too fast to enjoy. The rude guy seemed to get upset that no one was singing along with him although there was a total of maybe 12 people in the whole restaurant? When we got our check it turned our we had only spent $33 which means it was actually $2 more to use the Groupon.
Not a good idea for New Years - This is a pretty cool bar probably any time other than New Years. We Paid $75pp for premium buffet and entry. We arrived 20 minutes after the doors open to make sure we got a table to eat and it was already so crowded at 6:20 that it was standing room only. The buffet was all fried finger foods so I wouldnt say premium. It was way over crowded and hard to move. Ate our food standing at the bar because there werent nearly enough tables. Shots were $9 and beers were $6. Pretty pricey but the drinks were good. Heard a lot of ppl complaining they were charged different prices for the same drinks. Left as soon as the ball dropped since we were on our feet for 6 hrs straight. Will never go again for New Years. Ended up having fun still but if we werent dropped off and $153.00 comitted with nonrefundable tickets we would have turned around and walked back out.Would rather be able to sit and enjoy a dinner for that price and stop for drinks after.
I will say that the entertainment is amazing but poorly ran establishment. DO NOT SUGGEST GOING FOR ANY TICKETED EVENTS EVER. Overselling tickets. Pulling seats from under paying customers. Telling customers that it doesn’t matter that they oversold. Very unfortunate that the waitstaff have to lose money because “security” being aggressive to take tables away from customers.
Thanks artists mastered getting the crowd involved. Very impressed how they were able to play requests.
I tried to find something fun for us to do for NYE. I bought tickets for NYE show here.Premium Dinner Buffet is them buying out the Meijer frozen food aisle of curly fries, Mac and cheese bites and some terrible looking pulled pork.Come early as seats are limited means they have 15 tables and everyone else is forced upstairs at their night club and cant experience the dueling pianos.I feel this was misrepresented at best. Never coming here again.
Very sad at how poorly managed the NYE event was. It was a ticketed event advertised as “limited seating”… however knowing that, we made sure to show up extra early to get a seat. We got a prime table only to have the seats ripped out under from beneath us an hour later with NO warning or heads-up. If they had notified us that the entire venue would be standing room only at any point prior, we would have been fine. When we asked the manager about this he was incredibly rude and said “we do this every weekend”. The event was clearly OVERSOLD and POORLY MANAGED. Not to mention the “premium buffet” was entirely fried, frozen food. The pianist were amazing, nothing on them, but I sadly won’t be returning due to how TACKY this place handles business.
Great music. Great drinks. Smash burger is delish. Staff is amazing!
We requested and tipped for 3 different songs that they could not play. It was definitely not a dueling piano type atmosphere. They did not play off each other, make jokes, put on a show, and barely worked to get the crowd involved. I have been to several dueling piano bars and this was by far the worst.
I had the best waitress ever. I dont often go out because I have a carrot parsley allergy ... Which is a little scary because so many foods have those ingredients hidden in them. I ordered a wagyu burger. She wrote down every single thing included in my allergy. I truly appreciated that. My burger was amazing and my fries were hot and very yummy! Id recommend anyone to go.
Came for a night out for NYE. Establishment sold a ticketed event, bought tickets weeks in advance, it was disclosed seating is limited. Arrived prior to opening of doors, got a table and seats. A couple hours hours later, my seat was ripped from under me by staff “we are out of space, standing room only”. Thank you for overselling and making it my problem. My table spent over $500 and all of us regret it. Never coming back. Do not recommend.
My daughter and son brought me here for Mothers Day brunch. Food was OK, music was awesome! Our waiter, never ask us to go up and get our food, as we watched 90% of thepeople get asked to go get there food. We just got up in our own.I asked the waiter one question, after we got seated, he never replied to my question, we asked for salt and pepper, the waiter only dropped off pepper, had no care in the world.Terrible waiter.....Not so nice of a Mothers Day brunch, when your children was trying to make it a special day for me.
Just celebrated there this weekend and have an AMAZING time!! Our server was amazing and Alicia seriously rocked that roof off that place! Ill definitely be back!
If you like a packed house full of people having a great time this is the place for you! We had a great time last night! It was a blast and I would recommend.
I made a reservation over a week in advance and when we got here, they told me they overbooked and put me and my friends at the bar. Luckily, there was room but not cool. The food was ok. Nothing to go nuts about. Good atmosphere.
I planned a weekend away to Royal Oak for my husband’s birthday. These guys truly made the evening the best ever. We ended up needing a later time than our original reservation and they were SO accommodating. We showed up 1 hour after our reservation time. We said we’ll take whatever table you have no problem. They sat us immediately and then immediately a staff member came and offered to move us closer to the stage within 15min. So incredibly thoughtful. We were moved within 10min. The staff was SO attentive and friendly. We are floored at the service at this place. Absolutely off the charts incredible. Not to mention the show was fantastic as was the food. Highly recommend! Thanks again for the great night out!
This is a New Years Eve review- Food was good. Seating was not adequate. Entertainment was great(as always) The terrible kicker was the promotion that it was sold out and they would not let people that hadnt bought a ticket to come in until midnight-Well that was a lie so everyone that payed $40 each got screwed, because by 9:00(or maybe earlier) they were letting people in by the dozens and soon you couldnt even get through to go to the bathroom because of all the people and also our $40 a person buffet was gone! And I am pretty sure there was no late night pizza(we left by then). Dont waste your time going here for this event-you will be highly disappointed!
The minute you walk in you feel toms of energy. The drinks, food, and music just flow and flow. The portions are large. The drinks are flavorful, not watered down, or too heavily handed on the alcohol. The entertainment is hands down A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Highly recommend for a great night out.
We did an Masters event here for my company, and they were amazing! Easy to work with. We worked with both Megan and Charles throughout the day of event, and I could not have been happier! Good food, drinks and all the employees were happy to help! Great place to hold a private venue! Thank you!
We had a time! Recommend for groups, parties and celebrations! Pack your patience as there was a wait for my table and food but the host was able to accommodate us. The lemon drop martini is a must try.
Its currently just after 7 pm, and I should be at my daughters Bachelorette party at this piano bar, but instead, Im here at home writing this review. Why, you ask? Well, I tried at least 4 times to get a phone message returned from them regarding their ADA accessibility. I got none. As a person with disabilities, it is often necessary to contact places of business to check into these things, and Ive NEVER had a problem anywhere else. It makes me incredibly sad not to be at this party, but the risk of not having the proper access necessary and having to leave is a big one. If you are physically disabled, dont bother to try and get info from these people, you wont get it. I did scour their website and there was no info there either.
Fun place. Don’t expect decent food but the entertainment was top notch and service was great
Loved everything about this place except we had dinner reservations with no mention of a cover charge until we arrived at the door?! $5 for Ladies and $10 for men? Thats a strange business model? Entertainment is good though and worth the $15, so whatever. They should at least warn visitors when they make reservations or maybe just sell tickets? Some people may take that unexpected cover charge from tips meant for the performers or wait staff, its not fair, but you know it happens!
Literally pulling chairs underneath people on New Years Eve because you oversold a show is a terrible look. I feel so bad for the bartenders and wait staff under this management. What a disappointment. Do not trust any ticketed event from this vender.
Positives first: The food was delicious and the music/musicians were great and had awesome energy! Had a situation that I felt was handled as well as it could have been given the circumstances: I had tickets to the 6:30 main floor Valentines show for myself and my boyfriend. We got there a little late after trying to find parking (6:40) and the dining room was PACKED. I was excited until we were seated in the empty upstairs dining room. I had to ask a couple of people what happened and was told that patrons with tickets to the later shows had shown up early and were given our 6:30 seats. Not sure why they werent turned away when all of the email info leading up to the event said all shows were sold out and to not request a ticket change. We were allowed to stay for the 8 oclock show and were given some free drinks, but a bit of a frustrating experience.
Steer clear of the kitchen unless you enjoy mid rare chicken. Aaron was a major douche. Would not recommend
We did not eat because we ate beforehand. We dont really drink but ordered a beer and wine. Sat at the bar, service was attentive and the food looked good. Dueling pianos were ok. Not as energetic and fun as others weve seen. Had to pay cover to get in, ended up leaving after about an hour. Most parking meters were 2 hour max that we saw. Im not sure how that works when you are out for a while. Nice area, not good parking. Research that better before visiting.
I was pleasantly surprised how great this place was. I dont mind paying a cover charge for entertainment so i dont know why others had a problem. The music was really good, they are so talented they can play anything. We ordered the steak and it was delicious. The only thing that was odd is they serve all the drinks in really small plastic cups other then that no complaints. Well definitely return to this place it was a lot of fun.
Great night out! Langston hands down is the the greatest server in the area! Will be back 😁
The entertainment was good, but I am so disappointed in this place. They squeezed my party of 8 into a table made for 6. I know this happens, but when you have the entertainment BEHIND YOU and youre squished shoulder to shoulder, it is IMPOSSIBLE to watch the dueling pianos! I wouldve left, but I had to pay a cover charge to get in. Terrible seating for those sitting against the wall . If I couldve gotten my money back, I wouldve left immediately!
Hideous experience of forced, contrived feel-good music, so loud you have to shout in the ear of the person seated next to you to be heard. The drummer drowning out the sound of the piano. The pianists exhort women at different tables to make some noise, shake breasts and wave arms overhead. Bar food. Would never go back. The servers were friendly. You must show your identification for proof of age before entry and men pay a $10 cover charge and women pay $5.
On Thursdays Julie and Dylan run karaoke upstairs. Its an awesome time and they are great. Come and check them out. Starts around 730 and is usually popping around 9.
My wife and I always have a great time. The drinks are good, the music is great. I would give them 6 stars if I could.
It was ok. Didnt care for it. Went on my birthday.
This place had, by far, the best talent Ive ever heard in a karaoke bar. Somewhat intimidating, but we had a great time. Awesome service from the bartenders and servers too.
So my husband made reservations for us for Valentine’s Day they did not mention seating would be with others ! We both were very disappointed we didn’t enjoy our meal at all Covid still takes place and we weren’t even 4 feet apart very close I was upset they also had everyone water just filled in the cup n out to the open why others are close by talking around and over our cups very disgusting! My husband said his chicken was hard to cut and eat like it’s been plain out boiled my steak didn’t take great at all had a rubbish taste too it we also order two shots of Tito’s and it taste like sweet n sour mixed no liquor my valentines was not what we planned or expected at all very disappointed! And I don’t believe we will ever return to this place also we had a live piano show they piano ppl did not know the songs people were requesting and just messing over the songs and taking tips very unprofessional! Overall very dissatisfied!
What a fantastic show! We were on the 2nd level, 2/10 and what a great performance!
We have been here twice, and enjoyed it greatly. We were there for the Valentines Day event, and the service was a bit slow, but maybe similar to other places, hard to find enough quality employees to serve. We will be back.
The entertainment was good. Everything else just wasnt. We arrived within 30 min of opening. The bathrooms were disgusting. Old used toilet paper stuck to the ground in the mens room. You could tell it has been a while since Anything was cleaned. I got a wagyu burger. Ordered it medium. Came out extremely well done and tasted like old grease. Ordered a titos and lemonade, received a peach something. So I ordered a beer and my second one tasted like it was years old and flat. Told the waitress she said what do you want me to do. I said I would like a different beer. She took my beer and never came back for 25 min. Until we had to tell another waitress we wanted to leave. Then magically our waitress appeared with a bill. With all the messed up drinks and everything still on the bill. I was beyond done at this point. Just paid it and left. First And last time going there.
This was my first experience at a piano bar and my husbands second. Unfortunately we were both disappointed. We were both expecting so fun banter between the pianist, but it was basically just requested karaoke...where they only play your songs if you tip them(it looked like the going rate was $5). We were celebrating a special anniversary and I requested (and tipped) to hear the same song twice but never heard it. Eventually we gave up and left disappointed. The food was ok. My husband enjoyed his burger and fries. I ordered the fajitas which probably would have been good if they weren’t cold. There were several of my husbands favorite beers on the menu, unfortunately though they did not have any of them actually available. It wasn’t an overall bad experience, just not great. Had the tab not been so outrageously high I probably wouldn’t have even wrote a review, but I hate paying that much for a pretty disappointing meal and experience. It’s unfortunate too, because we were both really looking forward to it.
This isnt the same place it used to be. I was turned off as soon as I noticed the drums and guitar. Well so much for dueling pianos. I had a hard time hearing the piano over the drums. I thought this was a 21 and over crowd but there were kids at the 2 tables near me. All I heard was one of the kids tablet playing behind me. Now theres a cover charge no matter what time you go. Well at least the remodel looks nice.
Had a absolute blast! Band was awesome played all my request and food clear plate! Drinks 🍸 was great as well!
We were recommended this place from my wifes co-workers, and honestly enjoyed the atmosphere and the entertainment. We did have some issues that snowballed from the start. We made a reservation by phone with the manager, who forgot to set it into the system. Abby, the hostess, managed to accommodate us fairly quickly with a table. The waitress, Kara, was amazing. You could tell that even though the appetizers took 50 minutes to arrive, that she was doing whatever she could to take care of us. My wifes steak came out great, the shrimp and butter was cold to the touch. Nothing was seasoned properly or at all. So we reached a point where after entrees are coming out at different times, and food is not properly prepared, we asked for the manager. Not something we do often. Charles came by and spoke with us. He treated our complaints with politeness and understood what we were experiencing. Before dealing with the manager, I wouldve had an incredibly hard time recommending this place. After working with Charles and Kara, we agree that this place really is worth a couple visits. We believe our next time here will be met with an even more positive experience.
Great night out! Food was amazing...the drinks were nice and strong! Entertainment was so much fun to watch, lots of crowd interaction. If you never been here what happens is when the guys start singing and playing the piano you can request a song with a tip attached. Be sure to sing along!
Went there last weekend for a nigh of fun with my family. I enjoyed the entertainment (very engaging), the food was good, services was good, but one issue... I paid my tip in cash on a large bill (20%), and then found out later that my waitress had added an additional $60 on the credit card per my online banking. So disappointing.... Certainly ruins the experience when people pull stuff like this. Im not calling out the server, just telling you to beware when you cash out.
If I could give Alex, Megan and team 6 stars, I would. Drinks and food was great, with no complaints (that is saying alot for me). We had the dueling pianos at the end of our event and the entertainers really made our event special. For the catered food, I recommend the shrimp kabobs and the portobello mushrooms appetizer.
Went during the St. Practice Day pub crawl. This location wasnt particularly busy compared to the others we visited, but this was one of the better locations.Bartender was very friendly and respectable. Quick recognition, and even quicker service. The drinks were very good as well. Id definitely like to come back for just a regular night.
Typically not my scene, went for a good friends birthday. Ended up having a great time with some decent eats. Our waiter was awesome! The show was great, and even had the birthday girl up on stage for a song and dance!
I came into 526 main on 8/22. My server was Kyle and he was a delight! Super nice and a great waiter. The pianist Tommy came to our table and introduced himself and took our request. He was wonderfully nice as well. The restaurant is very clean and looks cute. The menu is just the right size. I ordered the chicken fajita and it was delicious! Definitely coming back!!
Fun place for all ages. Weve been here twice for birthdays and the singers do a good job of making everyone feel special.I had some appetizers and they were good. Both times we were there the bar was out of specific and common types of liquor. If you are from the bar and reading this you may want to have someone review the liquor order better. The first time it was Titos, the second time you didnt have Woodford Reserve ( super common right now) and whatever was offered instead the bar only had enough for one drink.
Fun place, the entertainment was good. However the staff was slow to fill orders. It took the kitchen over 45 minuets to make chips and salsa... that was sent back back because the chips were not made correctly. Full transparency it might have been an off night for them, manager suggested as much.
Loved the atmosphere, the location and the dueling pianos were GREAT!! The service.....not so much. Booked for NYE, was surprised how the kitchen ran out of food constantly, we had to wait in line for a long time before we could get our food. Also, our waiter was so careless, after numerous attempts to get our waiter to come back to get us more drinks and water we had ordered when we first arrived, we ended up flagging a different waiter that took care of us. Our original waiter even forgot to bring us our chips and salsa, we had to wait at least a half hour for them. Eventually the manager (she said she was) ended up taking over our table (not sure what happened). Also, when we booked, we were never told that we could not order off the menu, so my vegan daughter ended up having to eat grilled onions and green peppers wrapped in a tortilla for dinner. Five stars go to the dueling pianos and the atmosphere, everything else not so much.
Had a blast food was good entertainment was a blast the club upstairs we had a blast in drinks were made well will be coming back for sure the piona people were awesome it was a blast
Ive visited three times now and loved each experience. Ive always gone on Friday nights and yes, its pretty packed, but Ive always waited it out and found a seat pretty easily. As long as you love music, can take a joke & have a good sense of a humor you will love this place. I took a date who normally doesnt enjoy covers and even he had a great time. Worth every penny. Just remember to bring singles for song requests! :)
The website is VERY outdated! The posted menu on the website is not available, the food that we were served was mediocre at best. Canned cheese on the nachos instead of real cheese, pretzel sticks were tough and chewy as if they were microwaved.A cover charge in addition to our dinner reservation was required (also not mentioned on the website) $10 for men $5 for women. The dueling piano preformers were ok, not great, it was hard to identify many of the songs. The elevator was broken requiring disabled individuals to manage flights of stairs. The entire experience was disappointing, we wont be back.
Favorite bar/restaurant Ive been to. Service was decent and prices were standard. The kicker is the entertainment. The pianists were absolutely hilarious, as well as being expert musicians. Their range and ability to play some odd requests (did not expect to hear Metallica on piano) were top notch. Will be revisiting every chance i get!
I went there with a group for a friends birthday. Ive never been there before. We had reservations for 8:30, but there was no seating for us when we arrived. Im not sure what happened, but the place was packed to the point that I wondered if they were exceeding the licensed capacity. There were more people standing in there than were seated. After a 25 to 30 minute wait, some patrons left and some room was being made for our party to sit. I left as I found the crowded conditions and overly loud music uncomfortable.I would not recommend.
Staff is nice and the bar is cool, but its a bit expensive for what you get. $5 cover charge, plus money for e every song request, and 3 tacos were about $15. Total came out to about $60 with drinks and tip for one person. Tequila blue was literally empty and no one was up there. 😕
Kyle our server was great! They are changing the menu, so there is a new one coming out next month, the tacos were great, but the chicken was tough we asked for well done and it was more so over cooked. I will try it again after September 1st when the new menu comes out.
This place is utterly BRILLIANT! From the staff ,to the entertainment, to the drinks, to the small town hospitality! Hubby and I stopped by this weekend after a late night comedy show elsewhere. We intended to go to a different bar, but our uber driver dropped us on the corner, so we decided to go here instead, upon seeing all of the smiling faces outside. And right away we were blown away! From the bouncers opening the doors with welcoming smiles, to the staff welcoming us in, to the phenomenal entertainment and piano playing. The vibe and mood of all the staff was hands down impecible. We were treated with the utmost small town vibes, like they had known us for a lifetime. We chatted it up, danced like there was no tomorrow, and made new friends that may last a lifetime. The manager was utterly incredible and welcoming, we had long, hilarious, and amazing chats with him before even finding out that he was management lol What an incredible way to welcome new comers! I was also introduced to some regulars that completely stole my heart! Once the downstairs closed down, we headed upstairs for the more festive type of vibe. At 34, I felt way out of place at first lol but it didnt take long with mingling, to meet some amazing people. We only get out a few times a year. But this place is absolutely on my list to come back to!!! If I could have given 10 stars, I would have! Thank you all for such an incredible night! It was hubby and Is first date night in FIVE YEARS! And you guys truly made it one to remember!!! So thank you 🥰
Amazing piano players, 5 stars! They knew pretty much every song requested of them. The worst part was the food and service. We had a party of 6 on a Tuesday night. Only a few other tables were getting food the same night so it was not busy by any means. It took more than an hour for 2 meals to come out (both were cold! They were sent back). Another hour for the remaining 4 meals to come out, none of which were very good. The nachos had a weird queso that ruined the flavor. The waitress was unapologetic and we were told the kitchen is slow.I would go back for the entertainment, but dont go for the food until they hire enough kitchen staff!
A disappointing experience. The piano players were entertaining, but that was really the only positive aspect. We ordered the mozzarella sticks. For $9, we expected to get a good amount and for them to be tasty. We got 5 or 6 small chunks of breading with almost no cheese inside. I understand that because of the nature of the establishment prices might be a little inflated, but the food should at least be good. Wont return.
Hands down the best place to grab dinner and a show. Strong drinks and delicious food. Highly recommend this establishment for your next date night!
My wife got us a Groupon date here, and it was awful. I love my wife, and I do not blame her. We are still together despite the experience. I could sum it up I guess by saying, just because youve decided Muenster is your house cheese does not mean you should put it on a pizza. The chili cheese fries were an absolute disaster. I barely ate any of what I was served, it was so bad. Unfortunately, they couldnt make it up to us in any way because all they had to offer us was more bad food. There wasnt a single vegetarian thing on the menu, and it was difficult even to define the term to our server and describe what such a thing would be. Even after we explained it, we were still served food with meat on it.The waitress explained that the food was cold because the kitchen is upstairs and she has to go a long way to get it. We were unable to get our money back. The piano music was...okay, but geared more towards the 40-50 year olds with beer bellies, and they kept haranguing us for tips, audience participation, and requests even though there were only like three groups seated in the whole place. It was awkward and bad.
Not a great experience. One waitress for the entire floor so service was slow (no fault of her own). Then during trivia theme songs for a free shot, GM Charles yelled to the entire crowd my friend was cut off when I was the one that answered correctly. Pretty disappointing for my first and only time here. Wouldnt recommend.
First time here and we had a blast! Good food and atmosphere. Music was good! Our waitress Kristen was excellent! Overall experience was great! Will definitely be back.
Their website hasn’t been updated so there is a cover charge even if you have dinner reservations, despite what their website says. The menu on the website isn’t what their actually serving. Our server said she didn’t actually work there, she was just helping out. Food was either over cooked or cold. Not sure how you mess all that up but they managed to do it. They’ve crammed as many tables into the space as possible and the rest of the operation shows similar problems. Not my first time here but probably the last.
Had a groupon. Took my boyfriend on a date. Atmosphere was great staff was great and the people were great. The food was was not so great the amount of time we waited and waited and waited was aweful!! So instead of having some time to really enjoy the show, we were anxious about the food that was supposed to be coming then had to wait for it to be corrected and my salmon wasnt thoroughly cooked. Ugh. We just wanted to leave!
Had a date night here. It was a pretty good experience. My only complaint is how cramped it is and the price of drinks. The food was awesome, service was decent and the pianos were entertaining. Well definitely be going back tho.
The food was priced high and just ok. Drinks were pricy. This would not be a problem if the piano players were actually entertaining. There was very little banter or dueling. It was really just pay to hear a song played. The crowd was not engaged in the act. We went to a similar place in Pontiac years ago and this was no where near as much fun. Disappointed.
I recently visited this place for the first time just to see what the rave is about. I love this place. I started at the bar and was waited on by a Katie and Aaron for cocktails. I had the watermelon margarita. After deciding to stay, I sat at a booth and had chicken queso. My servers name was Kyle and i do have to say that the service I received here from everyone I mentioned was nothing short of amazing! I love the environment and i especially love the entertainment. I am not entirely too sure about the music tipping and how all of that works, but I will be back.
Don’t let the new name fool you, this is Tequila Blue and one of the worst bars in Royal Oak. Go ahead and look at the reviews under its old name, you’ll find they’re subpar disappointing. We were there for Wine Stroll and the servers were very rude. They also served the cheapest bottle of wine out of all 14 restaurants. Walk a bit further down the street and go to Bar Louie, it’s way better than this place.
The atmosphere is amazing. The musicians are wonderful! I personally think the food and drinks are overpriced for what you get and we had to wait a long time for our meals. I want to go back only becuase the show was so good.
Food was okay. Drinks were lousy. Service was very slow. They brought the food and we had no napkins or silverware. We had to sit with several minutes waiting for that in order to start eating. Waitress was very nice. I contacted management and they said they were going to send me a gift card to use but I never received it
The pianists were very entertaining. They take requests (for tips) and play almost any song they can find the notes for. They even sang a special birthday song for my friend. My meal took a little over a half hour, however, I was with a party of 15+. I would enjoy eating here again.
Do not waste your money here. Like all the other reviews state, the bouncers are power hungry and rude. This bar also has a weird rule about... hats. Yes, hats. I was asked to remove mine at the door. I asked the bouncer why the gentleman at the bar was allowed to wear his hat and the response was His wife knows the owner... Just a very bizarre experience overall. I would never go back or recommend this place.
Good food, good service, good music. I cant give it a solid 5 stars because charging cover and $18 per small plastic cup of margarita is a bit much. Drop the cover charge and I think the value equation evens out.
I came here for dinner for a bachelorette party. It took over an hour to get our food. When we finally got our food, it was cold. We asked a random employee to see if he could check on our food and see if itd be ready soon (because our waitress was nowhere to be found) and a minute later our food came to the table, but was cold. Meaning our food was just sitting out while our waitress was avoiding us.I understand having a group will take longer to get our food. However, it shouldnt have taken an hour and it definitely shouldnt have been cold. Plus with us being a pretty big bachelorette party, youd think our waitress would be checking in on us and making sure we all were good on drinks. However, we were not able to get multiple drinks because we had poor service.
The waitress charged us 40 bucks extra. She got our 5 drink orders wrong. Everytime her excuse was since its busy she couldnt get things right! One of the pianist called Tattoo was very rude and his singing was way too dirty and explicit. It was supposed to be a classy night out for us.
This place was pretty awesome on the nights they had the dueling pianos. Those two were hilarious and good! Drinks and bartenders were good. Our server kinda sucked though but seems like it was her first night. Dont let that shy you away from this place though. You must go!
I’m super sad with my first experience here tonight. The food was ok, but the service was no where close to acceptable. My family of three arrived at 6:20 to an empty restaurant. The hostess greeted us, but informed us all tables were reserved for the evening. I thanked her for the consideration and said we would go elsewhere. She quickly debuted she could give us a table but would need it flipped by 8:30. Having previously been in the restaurant business, and the current state of the establishment, I felt that was entirely reasonable for our party, so agreed. Reflecting now, that initial lack of hospitality should have been a red flag for our experience. Our initial greeting from the waitress was positive, she brought waters and offered a beverage order. We asked for items to fufill the wanting expectations of our young child, placed drink orders and asked if Restaurant Week was still available. She didn’t know, but was able to provide the menu information within a few minutes; it is a pre-fixe 3 item menu. Both me and my partner selected this option. We received drinks and were comfortable. Around 6:45 reservations have begun to be sat around us. At 7:00, just long enough to begin to wonder where my salad is, especially since there was no one there when we placed the order, both the salad course and main dish arrive at the same time. The table was small and it was challenging to fit all dishes with beverages on it. I ended up holding my salad bowl while I ate it, watching my fajitas get cold by the bite. The salad was extremely overdressed with ranch which was not expected per the salad description but at least there were a good number of cucumbers and tomatoes. The fajitas were good. My partner ordered the steak tacos, which came on corn tortillas with a chimichurri like sauce. They weren’t his favoite combo of flavors, but ok in general. Now I do recognize our waitress had several tables sat in her section all at the same time, but the struggle she had to support all of them obviously indicated that an addition to wait staff is needed. Service to clear tables was very slow. We were never offered an additional round, or had refills on water. At about 7:30, the waitress finally returned to our table and we took the opportunity to ask for the brownie dessert order to-go and our check. While waiting the dueling pianos began, which were great, a highlight to the experience, but fairly awkward when a young child is present as it’s definitely not a show intended for that age group.(I never thought we would even be there that long when we walked into an empty restaurant.) Definitely not a family restaurant on weekend nights. The waitress was aware of the lack of service being given to our table, and said she would send the manager over to talk to us. He arrived 15 minutes after she mentioned this. He was obviously not aware of our experience up to this point and seemed less that apathetic but would get us those brownies. I honestly didn’t care about them at all at this point, I just wanted out of there. Desserts arrived in a bag at 8pm with the check. We ended up needing to hand it to a different waiter to get the bill closed. It was the worst service experience I’ve had in years. Every kitchen and person has their off nights, so I’ll return to give them a second chance eventually because the pianos were quite fun and I love to support local businesses, but I’ll be sure to sit at the bar.
Its a little out of my wheelhouse to frequent a bar so consistently, but Im far from ashamed to admit 526 Main is where I spend most of my weekend nights. Wednesday through Saturday nights are accompanied by some of the most spectacular and talented musicians I have ever seen. On top of playing much more than just their pianos, each of the pianists has an endless repertoire of music readily available at a moments notice. If that wasnt enough, the rest of the staff meets and exceeds just as many expectations. Bartenders are efficient and enjoyable, while the servers are quick to suggest new alternatives they think would fit your tastes. Recently acquired by new owners, it seems like 526 Main is only trending upwards from here, along with my attendance.
Had an Amazing time! Great night out with friends every time
Was there for a private event. pianos sounded great but were too loud for my liking....hard to carry on a conversation. buffet was served on high top tables! for a short gal that was um awkward & difficult. nacho chips were great, but tacos just ok. still wondering why they had the toppings 1st in the buffet line
Atmosphere was a 10/10.On the other hand, the service was really disappointing. We came here for New Year’s Eve, an evening that you had to purchase tickets ahead of time for. Included in the ticket was a buffet. There was no menu online. When I asked my server if he could ask what would be on the buffet menu he said he would ask. This was maybe 25 minutes before the food was served. He didn’t come back to let me know what was being served until the food had already been out for around 10 minutes. Additionally, I was getting to the end of my first drink, so I ordered another beer. Actually, my server offered another beer and I said yes. Around 10 minutes went by, no drink. Someone else came around asking if everyone was okay and I told him about my beer situation and he said “Oh. I’ve had it ready at the bar for around 20 minutes, he never came and got it. I’ll pour you a new one.” That same guy brought it to me. The exact same thing happened with my 3rd drink. Original server offered the refill and never brought it. Had to ask a THIRD server for it. When it came time to pay, the third server cashed us out. Our original server never extended an apology for the slow service, as I would’ve done being a server myself. I understand being busy but this wasn’t being busy. It was being careless. I most likely won’t go out of my way to come here again.
I have visited this dueling piano bar several times in the evening when I am out on the town in Royal Oak. The entertainment is great, but it is often way too packed to enjoy it fully. I visited this establishment for the first time this week during daylight as was pleasantly surprised. I think they could sport a better drink special during happy hour but otherwise I was content. Try the Poke Bowls!
The waiter was nice, but the service was INCREDIBLY slow. They were out of ice cream (which was in 3 out of 4 of their desserts, if I recall correctly), so after our waiter had told us of the lack of ice cream, someone with VERY BAD smokers breath came to tell us what we were already told (& after we had chosen churros as plan B), so we told her wed just take our check, due to all the irritation of the evening. The STALE churros, that we thought we werent even getting, arrived AND to top it all off, the dueling pianists werent all that great. The person who took my reservation was friendly, but he told me the pianists go on at 8, the pianist prior to the dueling pianists said they start at 8:15 and the sign on the podium when you walk in said they start at 8:30. Be consistent, please. Besides the dessert, the food and drinks were good.
Ive been here many times without issue but the last time we visited we were treated very rudely. It was around 10pm on Saturday, right around the time the place starts getting busy (i.e. standing room only). We were standing near the bar along with half a dozen other people just watching the show and chatting (ya know, like what you do on a Saturday night in a bar). There was a small group of people sitting at the bar that I would say were in their late 40s that started complaining that they couldnt see the stage. At first my friends and I did everything we could to get out of their way so they could see but nothing was ever good enough and one of them began to get very rude. He was very passive aggressive just yelling about us to himself/no one to which I still just ignored.Eventually they spoke to the staff who sent one of the bouncers over to tell us we needed to move. After discussing it with him he informed us we needed to either go stand in the back of the bar near the kitchen or the side of the bar near the entrance. (But the other 6-8 people standing around the bar were fine) We decided to take our business elsewhere instead.Im not sure what these people expected but every single other time Ive been there on a weekend the place has been packed to the point that NO ONE sitting at the bar would be able to see the stage while sitting down. I have enjoyed good times here in the past but this was ridiculous, I will not be returning.
A place I would definitely revisit. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The Staff was very accommodating. The two piano/vocalist made the experience exceptional. The Sunday brunch, was simple but delicious.
Unfortnatunely I allowed my expectations driving 45 minutes to surpass the service here.1. Ordered drinks and server came back with wrong drinks (blue moon, instead of blue margirita) which my SO has a gluten allergy.2. Menu claims ALL tacos are gluten free. So we don’t need to express the allergy right - ya know because the menu claims this so?3. Waiter forgets our order and asks if we’re ready to order 10 minutes later....4. Food comes out on flour tortillas instead of corn tortillas. I ask for a manager, manager said “maybe the cooks didn’t know, did you explain your allergy?” Well no you a*$hole, the menu claimed ALL of your tacos came out gluten free - something the cooks NEED to know. After arguing? the manager finally agrees that it shouldn’t have happened like this.5. Food comes back out, tacos Now finally match the menus description of them, but they forget the rest of our food.I wouldn’t waste your time here. Luckily it’s a small town and we will be turning our terrible experience into a better one elsewhere.Avoid.While I wasted my time writing this review. Server comes back out. Wrong bill. I’m done.
Very disappointed in the service here. I’m sure this place is used to a crowd during the weekend nights, but they don’t act like it. We got there for an 8:30 reservation and no one even said a word to us for almost 20 minutes. Then we finally got our table and sat for almost another 20 minutes without any server ever talking to us. So we left and that all cost us $10 in getting through the door. Waste of time and money and very disappointed. Won’t be returning or recommending this place.
Nice bouncers, drinks priced as you expect (so no complaint honestly), DJ had a good mix of modern pop, EDM, and rap songs. Overall a good time for my first time in this part of Detriot.
I have a love of music and try to visit dueling piano bars at every opportunity I get. I have been to 526 Main twice now and the evenings are magic. Unlike many dueling piano locales, you can start the evening with dinner, decent pub fare, before drinking, singing and laughing the night away. The musicianship at 526 Main is of the best I’ve seen. The waitstaff are friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this Royal Oak venue if you are even remotely in the area.
The wife and I stopped by to watch the show and have a drink from the bar. This was about 3 years ago, it was terrible, the two white heavy set guys doing the show were very racist directing the crowd specifically to us, very poor taste, some people in the audience just gasped in disgust. I dont recommend this place at all, this place should be closed, gives Royal Oak a bad reputation. I still cringe when I walked by this place. We threw in a dollar for them to play Loser and they sent one of the bouncer to kick us out, didnt work when we explained to the bouncer what was taking place. Just a really bad experience.
Nice atmosphere at around 8pm. Eat before you go if you don’t like Mexican or odd food choices. The piano guys were cool. Think of some songs you want them to play before you go and have singles to tip!
Bar staff started chanting 10 minutes before the bar closed that you need to get the f* out of here - impressive hospitality. You chose to work the service industry. Will not spend my money on this bar. Unfortunate because the musicians they bring in are talented and could do better.
Had a great time. Food was good but not a huge variety. Service was outstanding. Parking around the corner. Credit card only. 💳
The pianos are a lot of fun. It was completely different than I thought it would be. Its not really dueling but rather two in harmony piano players. They take paid requests and can do a lot of different songs. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is my husband and I were not fond of their food. I wish they had a completely different menu.
A HUGE HUGE shout-out to Amber! I was planning on going here all week and having a chaotic week I forgot to make reservations. When I messaged the company they got back to me immediately and said I could not select a later time because they were fully booked. I made other plans and missed a message from Amber saying that even though my reservation was for 5:30 she would hold my table for me until I got there! Unbelievable customer service and I cant wait to go there for the first time, again.😄
An absolute amazing venue to hold a private corporate event! Alex and the team at 526 Main made our event special and were super accommodating throughout the whole planning process.
It was ok. The drinks are good but pricey and the food is good. Piano players are always cheezie but they did a good job and knew current songs to. Overall we had a good time just spent wayyyyyyy to much money on drinks.
The dueling pianos is what makes you go and what makes you stay. The entertainment they bring is next to none and I would go back just for that. The reason I only gave it 3 stars is because the service for the food and drink was much less to be desired. I went with a party if 8 for a friends birthday. The food did not come out together and many had already eaten their food before others even received their food. The drinks took atleast 15min to arrive after being ordered (even if it was just beer).Just an fyi if you want a table to enjoy the entertainment do show up around 7-730 as the place does get very busy.
Awful experience and never going back. I was celebrating my 21st birthday and we planned on spending the rest of our night at Tequila Blue.....that didnt happen. Four of us were casually sitting at the piano bar waiting for more of our friends to arrive. 10 minutes into our evening, some kid comes to our table and says he was told to check everyones ID......LIES! He only checked our table. Plus he made a stupid comment about one of our IDs because it was still vertical even though that person was over 21. Anyways, 5 minutes later the bouncer comes to us and says one of our IDs didnt check out and they believe its a fake. Mind you, they said this to a person in our group who is 23 and celebrated their 21st at this same place! I thought this was a joke. Unbelievable. The manager, who never even saw the IDs, was apparently the one who wanted us kicked out. Well fine, so we took our business next door to Blackfinn and had an amazing night. Tequila Blue lost out on a lot of business that night and future business because Im never returning.
Awful. Pay cover charge to be told every single table is reserved but no one warns you ahead of time. Rude staff. Vomit on the floor. Do not recommend this place at all. What a disappointment.
Terrible!! This rating doesnt even deserve a one star. The Manager and bouncer staff are EXTREMELY rude, disrespectful and unprofessional!! Its terribly disappointing considering the establishment could have so much potential. I would love to speak with the owner to ensure he understands how these meatheads are running his business. Ive never been to an establishment where the customers are treated with such disrespect!!! :( I most definitely wouldnt recommend it; nor waste my time returning!
Drive an hour to enjoy Nee Years Eve. There is NO SEATING. chairs are stacked but will not allow people to use them. They eat OVER SOLD tickets!!!!!
This place is awesome. First time there and I will go back again. It was not very busy, but the piano players did a great job and were very engaging with all of the patrons. Restaurant was clean, food was good and came out quick and hot
Kyle was an amazing server. The food was great, and the service was excellent.helped the dogs out.charles the manger was very polite and was able to accommodate our needs. The whole team was helpful. Dog friendly place.
Great night out for a nice relaxing evening. Make sure youre not in a hurry, this is not a quick in and out but more like a dinner show. Kyle and Kristen were very nice and informative. Our 2nd time, and well be back!
The dueling pianos was a fun experience but the service was awful. Our waitress was new (and I dont blame her at all) but everyone else was so useless. There was a huge party she was waiting on plus is and three or four other tables upstairs. What the heck is wrong with a Manger?! The poor girl was so busy should couldnt take care of anyone but she was really trying.
Atmosphere was fun and welcoming! The performers were funny and knew how to have fun with the audience and the drinks were very good along with the bartenders. And not to expensive! Fun place all around!
KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR BAR TAB!!! We used a Groupon, Manager tried over-charging us with a line of B.S. The service (Justin) was great as was the show. Food was pretty good..... Id go back, just dont like being taken advantage of.
Horrible experience and will not return! The staff was very rude. I dont go out very often and gave this bar a shot. My friends requested a song and paid a really good tip for it and the piano players ignored it and took other requests after for people tipping $20. Then at 1:30 The bouncer told my friends and I to wait in a really warm vestibule for uber that was not heated at all. Then the same bouncer came out to vestibule and screamed at us to get out at 1:35 pushing us out into cold (32 degrees) . The place claims to close at 2:00 am. Folks dont wast your money or time here at this place!!!! Find a better place for your birthday and or your night out!
We were looking forward to a fun evening spent entirely at 526 Main to celebrate a bachelorette party- unfortunately one rude, unwelcoming pianist changed those plans. The hostess and serving staff were very welcoming to our group of 11 upon arrival. Our waitress, Cara, was very friendly and excited we were there to celebrate! It was about 7:30, and Chris was playing the piano but the crowd had yet to really get involved. We began participating in the songs (like is expected at a piano bar) and more people started to join in. We put in some paid requests and someof the bridal party went out to the floor to dance tothe songs. Chris made some comment over the mic to the bride about getting off the stage- we just brushed it off. He went on a break and Tommy came out who was awesome. Another young piano player joined him and was very interactive with our group. We gave good tips, participated, and even got other customers to join us on the dance floor and sing along. It was a great atmosphere until Chris came back. Upon his return, he was making snide comments to the bridal party yet when another group of older ladies were out dancing and doing a kickline on stage completely encouraged them (not a problem for me- this is what piano bars are for). However, immediately after he was so positively interactive with them, he began playing a song our entire bridle party went to dance to and he stopped playing. The other pianist even said sorry girls I was going to play that for you but he just stood up and stopped. The bride was standing on the stage and Chris decided over the mic to sing to her to not talk to him and get off his stage- public shaming... really? We had paid $60 to make song requests throughout the night and another $20 for their phrase of the night (which they only did twice). Chris said the phrase to the crowd and said something about feeling the love and we told him we werent and he just moved along. He clearly knew he was being unkind and didnt care at all. At this point we decided to take our business elsewhere. We spoke with the waitress and it sounded like he had these kind of complaints before. She was disappointed we were leaving but we couldnt support his disrespectful behavior. Waitstaff, bouncers, and young piano guys were all great, but this guy is killing their business.
If I could of gave this place no stars I would have! I was really excited to try the place out for the first time, my friend had her party there, I ended up going and this ignorant waitress reached over to hand my friend his beer and spilled beer all into my hair and my jacket I was livid! Ive never experienced anything like that in my life. I would never go back. They have waitress who dont know how to serve. First off if he was to my right how and the hell do you spill it on someones left side. Second of all the beer shouldnt of been over flowing to the rim where is spilling over. I felt like she did it on purpose. I tried to get a manager he never came. I would never go back to that place ever again and I will spread the word
First time there last night ( 12/31/22) and this place was awesome ! Service was great, dueling pianos were amazing and the energy was top notch.
Had a great time. Staff was wonderful and chris the early show piano player was funny and talented and kind. Marcus the manager and katie made us feel welcome and appreciated our business. Will return
Will never tell anyone about this place. If I hear of anyone going I will let them know its horrible. From the time of entering, the bar not having anything that we wanted. Forced to buy something we didnt want. Drinks was not what we ordered, manager was rude. The stuff sucks. Then we was kicked out for talking. It should be more for church going people. They rules or not for bar life.
Well it looks like Im not the only one who had an awful time due to the service I recieved this weekend. The bartender that was working the upstairs (Aaron I found out was his name) was hands down the RUDEST bartender I have ever had. Insulted me more then once. If I wasnt there for a party I would of left immediately. I ended up getting all of my drinks from downstairs because there was no way he was getting a penny from me.... The most disrespectful person I have ever encountered and the fact that he still has a job and can talk to paying customers like that blows my mind. I will not be coming back here and neither will the handful of girls that heard how he treated me. I plan on telling everyone I know about the awful service so they can spread the word too. DO NOT GO TO THIS BAR!
Wonderful atmosphere, and my salad was great..
We put a reservation in quite far in advance, and got literally the worst seat in the house. Couldn’t see an inch of the stage, we asked if there were any other seats and the manager would not make any exceptions. Who puts a high top right in front of all of the seating ? Get a better floor plan! The booths are great but horrible view, and terrible on management for not fixing this issue that I’m sure many others like us, had.
Listening to the piano players is honestly pretty fun, but the bouncers were a complete joke. One of my friends stumbled stepping out of a booth, as we were on our way out, bouncer came over and told us he was watching us and if any of us act up he was going to throw us out and that if any of us threw up, he was going to force us to clean it up. Nice to know thats how you treat customers.
Food sub par. Drinks overpriced underpoured. Gave the band 20, waited 2 hours , no song lol. 1st time never coming back
Please note that this review is not a reflection of the entertainers themselves, they were wonderful. My issue is with management. I called to set up a dinner for my staffs anniversary party on a specific date. I received a confirmation email and invoice from the events coordinator for that specific date. I confirmed 2 separate times with the reservation host. Seems pretty easy, right? Nope. Not even close. When we arrived, the flustered host was panicking to find our reservation and discovered they had us listed for the next weekend. She scrambled to find her manager after telling me they had a lot of other parties scheduled for that night already. Meanwhile my entire team is gathering in the lobby, ready for dinner. They managed to get us a table at the back of the room upstairs. Which is the room we wanted, but I specifically asked to be up front. However they had 3 other parties already up front. I asked about dinner, and the hostess responded with, you were supposed to have food? Oh. Awkward. And walked away. I was already irritated. Now Im pissed. They put together a makeshift taco bar that didnt even feed our entire team. I had to ask for more food to be brought out. We never received the appetizers we had ordered. I NEVER saw a manager until I demanded to speak to one. Even then I was told he was busy dealing with an emergency plumbing situation. Im a manager too. I get it. These things happen. But Im pretty sure one of your staff members is capable of pointing out which toilet is broken. I saw the manager walk by and avoid eye contact with me multiple times before he finally came over to talk to me. He apologized, good job, and comped us with some chips and guac for the table. Thanks. They then proceeded to overcharge us by 4 people on the final bill. Bottom line, if you are looking to host a large group here, DONT. So thanks, Jesse (events coordinator) or ruining our anniversary party that I worked so hard to make special.
Only gave a 1 because the food was good and the musicians are worth the worst service youll have. Waited for an hour and a half for food for most longer for others. Your better off buying drinks at the bar you wont get them from a waiter for 20 minutes at best.
Manager was very rude in regards of letting me into the club. He confused me with someone that they threw out of the club few weeks ago. The only problem with that is that I was overseas for month and a half, and it would be impossible for me to be there at that particular time. He did not provide any proof and made himself look like an ass in front of me and my friends. He was rude not only to me but my friends that I came with. This is the last time I am going to this place, and encourage others to do the same.
Enjoyed the entertainment... was there for a surprise Birthday party with 40 people in attendence! I was surprised when returning to my car and finding a parking ticket attached to my car! First ticket I have had in many years! Guess I do not get out much but use to be on Saturday after 5 pm you did not have to feed the meters! Opps Im Bad!
Wife and I found out about this place about six months ago and having trouble getting breakfast from anywhere else now. Food is great staff is awsome and I can say that whether or not we dine in or get carry out food is the exact same quality. Only complaint would be that theres not more seating in the resturante and have to wait a little longer to get a table.
I dont know , the drinks were fine . The decore is nice . But I went in wearing my marine swag and got the dirty eye from all the male staff , as if they wanted to test my abilities. Well they might be bigger than me , but I dont care for the muscle guy on steroids feel . So will never go back , for I dont need to prove what kind of man I am ... duh I know how to beat someone up duh ... Thats the way they act ...
This place is always a great time. They have a poor selection of wine but the drinks are pretty good if you get the right bartender. The entertainment is really good!
The food and drinks were great. Musicians were fun. Overall a good time. Kyle our waiter was amazing
Really fun and funny. Good drinks, decently priced. Cover charge wasnt too much. My only complaints are that there is not enough seating, and they only take cash for the cover.
They gave us old menus and then when the bill came said told us that those were the new prices. Some prices were double for sides. Its not about the price, its about the principle. False advertising is what it is. The service wasnt the worst , but I wasnt the best either. Save your money and go to an honest establishment.
Good night out. Not the best piano bar but entertaining. Table service was very good burger was awesome and i never had an empty drink for the 6 hours we were there.
I thoroughly enjoyed it here Not only was it Lively the food was great drinks are great the piano players were great plus there was a whole club of stairs if youre not into the live music and it had a great atmosphere! Only thing I didnt like was if you dont get there super early parking is a b**** and I wish it was bigger because it gets crowded!
The worst place I have ever been too.. had a 2 week in advance notice for a party of 25, took 30 mins to get a drink and after 2 hours 6 of us had not even gotten our food.. those that did, it was cold and not like ordered... the manager is a complete ass, never once after 5 employees told him we wanted to talk to him came to the table.. they wanted to cash you out before you got your food.. the security and manager (all on too many steroids) hang out holding up the walls.. the employees get no support or help.. totally waste of time and money.. the upstairs was so packed I am sure it failed fire safety laws.. I was not comfortable there and hated the whole experience. And to boot came out to a parking ticket... after putting in 5$ so meters dont work either..
I was not allowed in because I was wearing shorts on a summer day. My fiance was inside and all I wanted to do was grab her and go. Horrible service before I even entered the doors. Funny part. I showed the bouncer all my pockets yet he still wouldnt let me in. ITS SUMMER. PEOPLE WEAR SHORTS. HAVE FUN LOSING MONEY XD
Had my Brothers Memorial there. Wait staff friendly and kept the place clean. Train outside scared me a little. But over all I will be back to have a chill moment
Its a complete waste of time and money. The service is almost non-existent. The entire staff from security to servers are rude and extremely slow. On top of that, the patrons inside lack class. The do not honor reservations, and theyre drinks are extremely weak and watered down. I would never recommend it.
Nice bar with a good atmosphere. Our waiter, Kyle, was very helpful and constantly checked on us to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Overall, good place
Food that we ordered never showed up. Of the food that did show up, one person got the sauce for his food after he had already eaten it... Apparently there is also a bouncer who attacked a customer a day or two before our visit. Will not be going back...
Great experience! The atmosphere is very laid back, and the pianists are awesome! Also Tommy is the bomb, make sure you get him a shot!
If you’re looking for a place to go drink and dance, this place is an option. I’ve never stayed downstairs for the dueling pianos, but the dance floor upstairs will likely be super sticky from all the drinks that people spill.
Absolutely horrible!! I have been here several times and I’ve finally learned NOT to return!! I give no less than $100 a night to the piano players and waitstaff but tonight they refused us entry because my husband had on “ripped” jeans! Seriously it’s almost impossible to find jeans that aren’t ripped these days! Designer damn jeans and you turn away good business because of it!? Your loss you fools!!
Very upscale place to have drinks! Drinks were pricy but they were made tasty and strong ! So worth the price! Food was outstanding! ❤ had a great time with the dueling pianists..
Service was great, piano guy in newsie cap was a dick. Balled up request and threw in girls face because there was no money with it... but again, the servers were awesome and food/drinks were great.
In all my years I’ve never seen a difference between men and woman regarding the amount of cover charge($5 vs $10). Don’t get it.
Made a reservation and they decided to take a table away from us to make room for a dance floor.
