I purchased a membership for my husband. They have both cards attached to account. I payed fir first month and my husband wanted to keep account and just had them charge his card. They have charged mine as well. Reaching out to them they removed my card and couldnt reimburse. Problem wasnt resolved after reaching out to them the manager stated they removed my card and thus reimbursement couldnt occure Unfortunately, they have charged my account again. Once again only my husband can call to confirm it was my card and to have it removed. They have charged 160.00 for membership and the manager was rude as well to communicate with.
This membership has been a bit of a nightmare. Im bummed yall. I wanted this to be a great experience but its been the opposite. Right now I have random Massage Envy charges showing up on my card. Massage Envy cannot explain them and told me to call my bank. How is that the right response? Wheres the accountability from the business taking the money? The quality of the massage is hit or miss, one therapist was way too flirtatious, making it tough to relax into the session. I gotta get out of this membership!
Booked an appointment a week ago for my daughter’s birthday to find out there’s no massage therapist day of. Now I’m stuck finding somewhere else last minute to see if they can take us. Very inconvenient, especially booking in advance
This location is not good. They claimed I had no appointment even though the website showed me having an appointment and were super dismissive turning their attention to another customer while I tried to get more information. I have had a lot of trouble with this location. I decided to try again after I injured my shoulder at work. But once again, no good.. I will never try again.
Erica made me feel like a happy floppy noodle. Absolutely excellent massage with firm pressure on all my sore spots without any sharp points. If you’re looking to have your shoulders dropped down from your ears I couldn’t recommend her enough.
I would not recommend doing business with this location. The first red flag was when my mother (who has been a member since 2012) gifted me a credit to receive a massage and the employee at the front desk tried to convince me there was no credit on file and make me pay. She suddenly found the credit under a different telephone number once she realized I wasnt accepting her word as I was certain there was a credit on file. I never gave her another number to look up. Then she talked me into starting a membership to receive introductory member pricing, in which I did start the membership. However when I went back to honor the price she quoted me my total was $60 more than I was told initially. I asked to speak with a manager but there was no manager on shift or any shifts for the rest of the day which is unacceptable especially when employees are constantly saying theres nothing I can do you need to speak with a manager, I called the next day to speak with a manager and expressed my concern telling her I felt deceived and manipulated and her response was there must of been a miscommunication because the sales person you worked with is our best employee and doesnt make any mistakes. So if you want to be treated like youre incompetent and cant interpret false advertisement this is the right location for you!
I have been a member at massage envy for about 3 years. Throughout the time, I have found 2 massage therapists that I liked....but also had 4-5 AWFUL massages. One masseuse refused to work on my shoulder saying shoulders are boring to him, another used techniques that were obviously not therapeutic (such as applying pressure to the back of my neck while my head was in the donut)...when I told him it hurt, he walked out of the massage. And then a handful of below mediocre. I stayed so long because I really liked the person I ended up with. But he has finally left too.If you are considering their membership...dont fall for that trap. This place has horrible customer service, a high turnover rate of massage therapists, and they make it extremely difficult to cancel even if you are on a month to month contract. I highly recommend finding a good therapist in a non-franchise place. You actually dont save much money with their membership and it does NOT compare to some of the nicer spas.
Sharing this very late. My interactions happened during winter 2020-2021.I had a membership. I was told upon purchase that the membership would lapse when my 12 months were up. Apparently they had changed this policy at this location but had never formally informed me. When I entered for my monthly visit, the person at the desk had me check in like normal and had just added the changes to the policy signature to the tablet without informing me that what I was signing was NOT just the standard check in and that there were changes that I needed to be aware of.They kept charging me for about 2 or 3 months past my 12 month term. The last month, their computer system or their employee tried to run my card, which declined. Because I didnt move money over because the membership should have been expired. When it declined, they ran it 4 more times, which declined every time. They decided, instead of calling me, to run it for less and less amounts until it charged. They drained the 17$ i had in my account, in the middle of a pandemic. Then they KEPT trying to charge me, and I ended up with 180$ of overdraft fees.THEN they called me. They were NOT helpful on the phone. I eventually asked for the manager who was even worse. She didnt apologize, she didnt recognize that her buisness practices had cause detrimental effects for me.She kept saying she didnt know what happened I cant refund anything we didnt take anything ect. Except they took the 17 for sure and had all those pending charges holding me into the negative PLUS the overdraft fees ontop. The manager was horribly rude and inconsiderate. She told me to call back when I could have an adult conversation.I was the one who actually gathered information on what happened while she did nothing to verify.I got covid exposure and couldnt bring my cancelation form to them in person without exposing innocent people, and they dont provide ANY contact information for locations and the big ME was competed unhelpful as well over the phone.I turned my paper cancelation form into their staff member (who ignored me at the door for 25 minutes, she would literally look at me then look away quickly.)I handed her my form and said this is my cancelation form for your manager. Idk what that staff member did with my form, but she didnt give it to the manager so they charged me AGAIN.I called back FURIOUS. They still refused to refund me, claiming it was my fault because I didnt hand it in in time to which I explained that I handed it back 3 days after the cut off with an explanation that it was late for the precaution of safety for their staff. That didnt matter I guess that shows that this manager doesnt care if you expose her staff to covid.I had to go to my bank and have them block any charges from massage envy because they were so incompetent. This all happened over 3 extremely stressful months. They never reached out to me, I always had to reach out to them and they were INCREDIBLY rude and had terrible service.I reported them to the Better Buisness Bureau, and they didnt even take it seriously. They NEVER responded to the BBB.If you have had issues with this manner and their staff i urge you to take it to the highest levels possible!!!I was warned by an ex manager of an elk grove location that this s street location had terrible management and in house staff and that they were the worst in the area. I should have listened. The ONLY good thing about this location was the 1 massage therapist I liked, Steven M. I had someone else once and I couldnt even stand that person, they did not check my preferences properly before we started. I have extreme anxiety especially around men in service or authority positions so I was 100% not comfortable stopping the massage or to offer up my preferences.Thats why they update them on their tablets every time, to check for health changes and verify comfortability. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. If I could shut them down, I would.Go to any other location, trust me, its worth extra gas.
Stuart is the reason I became a member. I got massages every few months or so with whoever was available, and once I found Stuart, I signed up and went to him every month (sometimes twice a month) for a year until I moved out of midtown summer 2020. He is incredible - makes you feel comfortable, creates a serene environment, gives great tips for home after each session, checks in on pressure/style preference, and was willing to work with my very specific requests. Highly recommend - I miss his massages!
I have been a member for many years. The quality of the massage therapy is great. The front desk, however leaves much to be desired. They do not answer the phone, return calls, or messages. Its best to go in person if you want to speak with someone.
My therapist Jackie was wonderful and gave a true deep tissue massage. The building was nice and check in and checkout was very easy. Prices are high if you are not a member, but I would go back if I lived closer.
This place seems more interested in sales than service. I got the aromatherapy option but they did not relay it would be a lotion that’s used. I asked the masseuse if he had the aroma going and he told me they’d use it but did not relay what he meant. At the end, I was told the lotion was used on my feet in the last 5 min of the session. This was my aromatherapy? In fairness, they gave me the rest of the bottle to take home (which I appreciate) but it was not clear this was the intention. Had I known, I would not have opted for it.Not pleased with the customer service and will not be returning.
Christopher does a great job. The pressure he applied was just perfect, if not then more. He listened and worked on areas I wanted and the areas he felt needed work. The business is small but clean. Yes, I would go back here again.
This was my first time. My Dad gave me $100 gift card for my birthday. Im sad to say it was a waste of his $$. I get a lot of massages 2-3 a month on average and this one was very disappointing. I opted for a 90 min deep tissue. The masseuse was very good in the shoulder and butt area, but mediocre everywhere else, and gave my feet no attention. He was 20 min late in starting my massage. Thats fine I understand people get coughs up but what bothered me most was that he ended the massage at the same time. If you are late when starting that doesnt mean that I now only get a 70 min massage when I payed for a 90 min. Had I received my whole massage I wouldnt be writing this review. When he said that he was all through; I asked has it been 90 minutes already he said yes. When he left the room so I could get dressed I checked my phone which I had done when I was putting it on silent to start the massage. 1 hour and 10 minute had gone by. I left disappointed. I will not be returning.
I have been coming to Midtown ME for about 4 months. I told them on my first appointment to give me a good therapist and they didnt... They gave me a great therapist (Ashley) she really knows her stuff and knows exactly what to do to fix whatever your issue is. Ashley is also allot of fun to talk with during the massage, the only downside of talking with her is that before you know it the appointment is over. Im sad I had to move out of Sac and cant come to Midtown now.
Scheduled a 30 minute stretch. Appointment was at 6 pm and he took me in at 6:08, I looked at the clock in the room when I arrived. He asked me a few questions was very nice and then acted like he wasn’t really sure what he was going to do. Stretch was alright but I get a better stretch doing my yoga at home. He ended the stretch at 6:28, seemed short. Ended up being 20 min.
Do not sign up for a membership here or any massage every apparently. There updated membership requires you to be locked in for $85/month for 12 months. Regardless if you financial situation changes, if you need some time off because of a busy schedule, does not matter. You cant even put your membership on hold unless you have 6 months paid.
When you enter the place, the first thing you see is the gratituity percent board. This is kept to help you. Oh also, 15% is $15. I was really having a bad day at work. So I scheduled 1 hour of stretching and 1 hour of massage for the next day evening. I was told by the receptionist that the guys Im getting are the best in service!! I came in at 7 for my stretching session which was supposed to start at 7:30. I was asked to fill out few forms and I was asked to wait in the lobby. Around 7:45, my name was called up. I was led to a room and he stepped out so that I can get into comfortable clothes. He literally took 5 mins to get back in. My stretching session started at 7:50. He placed two rubber balls on the bed and told me to lie down. After 10 mins, he changed the position and again told me to lie down. After 10 mins, again the same thing. Explaination I got for this was, letting the gravity do its job in stretching my pecs!! Next he held my left leg in 90 degrees and said thats gonna stretch my glutes. He held it for 5 mins and then gave a lil push from sideways and shifted to my right leg. Same thing for 5 mins. And then he let me get up and gave me couple of tips on how to stretch my forearms and let me go. It was still 8:25!!!!!Then my massage session was from 8:30 to 9:30. Again, I waited in the lobby till 8:45. A lady called my name up and led me to the room. Stepped out for 5 mins to let me change and get into the sheets. Honestly, massage was really good. The ladys name is Karen. But she too let me get up at 9:25 and I was standing in front of the receptionist at 9:30!!Now guess what the receptionist asks!! She first told me Im being billed $110 for both the sessions and asks me how much gratituity Im willing to pay! I told her it was not professional for them to not to give 60 mins full of service. Now she tells me that I should have let her know when I noticed I was not called up even after 5 mins into my session!! How the hell would I know!!!! I was under the assumption that if they call me 15 mins late, they would let me go 15 mins late too! Damn. One of the worst Ive ever seen!!!!!! I hope this review gets seen by the corporate team!
My massage was pretty mediocre. She was really noisy and clanking stuff around so it was really hard to relax. Movement was fast and highly repetitive like she was just trying to get it done with. Felt like there wasn’t really any care or attention
Its a basic massage spa, no bells and whistles. I received tea at the beginning of my wait. The bathroom is very clean, staff was pleasant. The massage was decent as well.
It was very clean. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The massage was great. I also had a facial that was really nice as well.
I had an appointment for 9 a.m. I arrived 10 min. Early and w as s not allowed to go in. Then I was told the therapist was out of the country. I was given an appointment at 6 p.m. At 6 15 I was told the therapist was Ill. I am being given en a free hour, but I still dont have my needed massage . I am not happy.
Im writing under my boyfriends account but I just called to see if anyone there is anyone licensed to do lymphatic massages, I was told yes and was given prices... Ill be going to have surgery in the next few months and I want to make sure I have a place lined up to do my massages... I hope they dont disappoint me.. I look forward to doing business with them. ❤
The space is just too small to feel luxurious. I hate sitting in the waiting room its very awkward. Still a great place to get massage. Cant wait to come back
Excellent massage therapists and estheticians, friendly and helpful front desk. Best Massage envy Ive ever been to!
Massage was not enjoyable! This was a gift for my daughter and instead of feeling relaxed from a good massage she was just frustrated from the experience.
Very friendly staff and great service from the beginning of my visit to the end. Great location. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
This is the best massage Envy in Sacramento. Great staff awesome management. Great atmosphere. Great massage
Great Staff and Great Services.
Pretty expensive, but if you have the money the massages are quite nice!
