Luxi Nails & Spa II (Somerset)

I got my nails done on Friday. It is now Wednesday and it has already chipped. I got a gel manicure and a gel pedicure. They both looked really nice the day of. However, now 5 days later, half of the gel polish in my thumb came off.I don’t think the gel polish was completely dried.

They have done an amazing job with my nails! I’m so happy I found them. I have found my new favorite nail salon!

Jackie was fantastic with the gel polish mani pedi today, thank you so much! She cared about what she was doing, took time to shape my nails right, made sure the polish wasn’t gloppy. Great service, thorough, and didn’t keep me “in the chair” too long. Also, I was able to make an appointment online the night before, plenty of availability even though the salon is busy - super convenient. Thank you again!

I want to thank the amazing staff at Luxi for the wonderful experience I had. A few weeks prior I had contracted a nasty toe nail infection from a neighboring salon and was completely traumatized. I explained to staff at Luxi about the trauma I went through prior they were patient, gentle and understanding and gave my feet the proper care that they needed they have gained a new satisfied customer.

Please be aware of this location!!! I booked for Somerset nails and spa location, thinking that I was at the right location and instead of the owner telling me that I did not have an appointment with them he still allowed me to pick a nail color and go to a chair and then when I confronted him before paying about him not telling me that I wasn’t at the right location for my nail appointment. He lied stating that he did tell me but how when he was on the phone when I was checking in and I said to him if you did tell me why you didn’t tell me again after I picked the nail color before I went to go sit in the chair that you told me to sit at. luckily, Somerset nails and spa were nice enough to credit me the money that they charge me on my card and also stated that this owner always does this and that please be careful when you’re booking because he would not tell you you are at the wrong location until it’s time for you to pay or if you already half way through service being done on you he will try to make you pay before leaving. This location don’t everrrrr have to worry about me coming back. Please go to Somerset nails and spa they are wayyyyyy more Professional than this location.UPDATE: Thanks for letting me know that your salon is recording my audio which is illegal without my consent! If there was audio footage, why didn’t he let me hear it? Clearly, you didn’t hear him either because he never said I didn’t have an appointment. Secondly, your staff should’ve verified who I was and what appointment I had reserved! You need to change your website format when you click on book online on google or salon name because either you type in Somerset or Luxi both of your establishments show up and both of you are on Elizabeth ave. And do not act like one point of time both establishments were Luxi nails with different picture is down below. Even after my appointment, I went to the correct location and that receptionist told me that you guys continuously service the wrong customers and don’t say anything until it’s time for them to pay! The guy who was working in the front today told me that you guys had issues in the past with people going to the wrong location because the two salons share the same logo & name. If you want to bring up footage, explain how it’s acceptable to turn away customers and her kids because the children were upset and loud? Why would it matter in your empty salon? The way you talk to your customers shows throughout your salon! Keep up with this nasty attitude and you’ll be out of business a lot sooner than your chances of me ever returning to your establishment! Delete this if you want to but it will be reposted!

Immaculately clean salon, staff is always warm and professional. Lots of color choices. Their spa pedicures are amazing and we frequent this salon specifically because they are the best I’ve found. Highly recommend.

Got a dipping polish manicure & was very happy with the technician, Jacqueline. She was very helpful in picking out the color for my nails & gave me a PERFECT manicure. ALSO, the salon is very clean & has a very relaxing atmosphere.

My tech are great , it’s pricey and they charge for each item separately.for reg ped and French gel manicure $188 . Service are excellent price too high .

This was my first time at this nail salon. The experience was great. The pedicure was amazing and Ericka took her time with my gel manicure. I will recommend anyone to try this clean and modern nail spa. I booked my appointment online and my appointment was on time. The atmosphere is calm and nice. Make sure to take cash to tip the person who provide your service.

Myself and my husband had pedicures today. I had a wonderful callus pedicure and just finished my French gel manicure with Sonia. She is the best. The salon is clean and all the staff are sweet and are great at their job. Eric takes care of the appointments and is very cordial. I will be back again.

Apparently it cost $100 for a gel fill in and $100 for a set of gel nails because me and my sister just got ripped off paid $200 for only gel manicures !!!! Totally cut off guard and no receipt ! Never ever going back. Let me correct so you can check your receipts . You charged us $193 for 2 gel manicures on February 29th so check those records

Never had a bad experience here. Everyone does a good job. Today I had Julie as my technician and she did amazing! Great pedicure, outstanding chair massage and nice eyebrow wax. The chair massage sold me to request her next time. The pressure was perfect, the stretch was refreshing. Cant go wrong with this salon!

I love my nail girl, Angela she is lovely and always does my French amazing.

EXCELLENT SHOP!! Wonderful customer service and friendly, skilled staff. The shop is spacious, clean, and orderly. The bathroom is always clean and well stocked. I have never called for an appointment and not been accommodated even on short notice. I usually get the gel fill and gel pedicure with a cat eye design and always get compliments on my nails. There are two shops in close proximity with very similar names. Be sure you have the right one, beside the bakery. You wont be sorry.

I have to edit my previous review. They really went above and beyond in customer service. Eric was very responsive in the emails and scheduled me in the same week to get my gel extensions fixed. Not to mention they were busy on a Friday, so I definitely appreciate that they made time for me. My new nail technician was super detail oriented and my nails are now perfect. I cannot stop looking at my hands. (see photos). I am super happy and will definitely be back!

It was a really nice salon, they are really precise and technical. They work extremely quickly, it only took about and hour and a half to get my nails done.

Just returned to Luxi Nails & Spa and had a wonderful 5-star experience! I was thrilled with the expert, beautiful french gel manicure I received from Heesu. I was also very pleased with my pedicure and the care and attention I received from Jacqueline. Eric, who does an excellent job managing the shop, is always accommodating. Great atmosphere and clean salon too.

I am a long time customer thanks to my sister in law recommending this establishment 7 years ago. I wont go anywhere else. The customer service has always been excellent even with the owners changing. You can see anyone there and receive great service. If you are not happy with something, just speak to Eric and he will try and help you. He does a great job managing the place!

I have been going to Luxi Nails II for two and half yearsfor manicures and pedicures. The salon manager, Ericand staff are very helpful and competent. Lila, one of themanicurists, is personable and goes out of her way toplease the customers. I started to get gel manicuresand they are really awesome. No maintenance at home!The location, Franklin Commons, is very convenient andhas several good shops. You will not be wrong in visitingLuxi Nails II.

Had a mani-pedi with my wife and just when I thought surely it cant get better than this, it did! Amazing attention to detail, scrub, massage, lotion, hot towels, wrap, hot stone, honestly it was pure HEAVEN!! I have not felt this at peace and relaxed in so very long. Absolutely coming back!Luz is the absolute best and made the entire experience for me personally the highlight of my day today.10/10 RECOMMEND!!!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Lady either cut my cuticle too deep or stabbed me with the cuticle cutter. I wasnt looking but OUCH, it hurt bad. Then to make matters worse, she follows up with alcohol on my nails and skin OUCH AGAIN. Their tepid stones missed the mark of a hot stone spa massage experience.I did not even intend to book here. This salon basically just steals clients from Luxi Nails Salon V (the original flagship salon) where I thought I was booking online. Beware of adding your credit card. Their online booking is deceptive and my $55 gel pedicure was sub par in comparison to the experience I would have received at Luxi Nails Salon V by Franks Pizza.

Since you seem like manager i will say the issue is you guys knowingly are not changing your name both you and the other luxi. this is an absolute circus and i am appalled at how both fo your salons are continuing to run your business this way. absolute joke. i will not frequent yours nor the other luxi due to your incommpetence and disrespect towards the customer. at the least the other luxi was kind and apologetic but you are arrogant. taht says enough about your salon.Definitely fake reviews. I visited here becuz I made a mistake by booking at wrong luxi. I was suppose to be at luxi by panera. Anyhoo the place is too quiet like and during my mani when i asked for my nails to be filed the way i want the older guy looked at me and just kept on working. Not recommended. The recent reviews and actual service do not match up.Also why dont they change the name? I don’t get it they obviously know customers get confused like i did but they refuse to do this. This is deceiving and im sick of this.

My first time at this establishment and it was top notched and SUPER CLEAN!! I received a lavender pedicure and my manicure came with a complentry massage.The staff was awesome. They have gained a new customer! I would have gave 10 🌟!

I have been a Luxi supporter since about 2007. While I miss the old gang - Susan, Young, Danny(hands down best messages!) and Jenny, I appreciate that Eric always manages to accommodate my schedule which is unpredictable and often last minute. I watch him genuinely solicit and listen to feedback from all clients as they leave. Lila knows my nail preferences and her talent allows me to push the frequency of my visits probably further than they would like but again, as my schedule allows. Confidently recommend. I had the worst gel pedicure of my entire life today. The nail tech used the electric drill to remove the gel polish from my toe nails and drilled down to my skin on the big toe. She did not acknowledge she caused this until I complained. The owner had to come over to fix the nail by putting a layer of acrylic over my nail. This is completely unacceptable. Aside from this fiasco, the pedicure was rushed below the standard that anyone would accept especially for $55. The technician did not properly shape the nail or cut the cuticle. I was not offered an apology or discount for the fact that my nail was ruined by an employee. I would not recommend. Please stay away!

Great service. They were very flexible and accommodating. Booked a same day appointment and got the royal treatment. The spa pedicure is definitely worth the $$. Make sure to ask for Joe C. ;)

Luxi nails is the best. They are quick, efficient, and I have never had a bad experience! They arent the best with crazy designs, but if you are looking for a simple manicure, this is the place to be.

The best experience I’ve had at a nail salon period. The older woman that did my nails was so sweet, warm and cheerful. She did a great job on my nails and the best massage while waiting for them to dry. I then got a 10 min chair massage for $15. So worth the self care trip! Clean, modern and relaxing environment. Wish I just tried this place sooner.

DO NOT TRUST THESE REVIEWS! THEY GIVE COSTUMERS 20% OFF IF THEY GIVE THEM 5 STARS!!!! they did a terrible job, I usually shape my nails before hand and they cut the nails at different lengths messed up the shape and cut my cuticles when I specifically asked them not to. They also alternated between 3 technicians. They had terrible service overall and to top it off my gel polish started lifting in 4 days. I am disgusted with this experience and would never recommend to anyone

Today was my third visit and I am very pleased! I received a gel overlay fill in. Lela was my nail technician, and this was my second visit with her. What I’m most pleased with in this session is the various angles she would check my nails. My nails are oval shaped. While reshaping them, she looked at them facing her; and she looked at them from my point of view; and she turned my hand over to check the shape of the nails from the back. So each nail is symmetrically shaped and not leaning toward one side or the other.My first visit was with Lela as well, and I was very particular about how I wanted my nails shaped… “not too thick” “not too round” “no not too square”… she handled my demands like a champ though I knew she was aggravated, but rightfully so.I tried a different technician my second visit, whose own nails were fabulous. However, she was a tad over confident and did not check the shape from various angles, therefore my nails appeared to lean to the left and the gel on each finger tended to be a little thicker on the left of each finger as well.I did not go back to have it corrected, and just vowed to give Lela a second chance without my borage of demands. And I’m extremely pleased and glad I gave her another opportunity.My one complaint is she engaged more with her colleague in conversation rather than conversing with me, her customer. I am a people person, and that is something I look for in customer service.

Wouldn’t let you cancel an appt without charging if you made it 12hrs ago and couldn’t cancel bc you made the appt after business hours online last night but instantly realized it was the wrong place. They make every effort to avoid the mixup except for changing their name, shame on me.

I recently stopped by and had gotten a pedicure. I will say this was probably the most relaxing pedicure I’ve ever received. Amazing service and amazing work. I will definitely stop by again.

My favorite nail salon! I have been going there for over a year and I have never experienced any issues and my nails always look amazing. Everyone is very kind, from the guy at the reception to every single nail artist. The place is always clean, and the online booking is amazing. You can always call to make arrangements too and they will find the best option. I totally recommend this place.

Luxi nails is really a luxurious nails salon n spa. Mary did my french mani and pedi. She did it so nicely and I felt so relaxed until I was there. Perfectly done will all minor fixing. I really liked this place at first sight. I was never been there before. They are so well organized including the website. Its just prefect! No more words to say..

This is literally the only nail salon that i can go to and make an appointment with any random nail tech and not be worried about the quality or skill of the tech, because they’re truly all that talented. additionally, their gel fill is super quick, yet they do not sacrifice a quality job to cut time! they’re just efficient and super talented. place is wicked clean too.

Review update : Eric was very helpful and responsive to my concerns. I am thankful he accommodated my sister and I to fix our nails. I will be returning due to their great customer service!It is very clean and everyone was very nice. Unfortunately 4 days later my gel manicure was chipped and peeling.

Update: after leaving this review I spoke with the owner to discuss my experience. I understand there was miscommunication on behalf of the nails. I was offered an apology for the rude nail tech. I hope the nail tech realizes (cares )she cost this business a customer. I work in HR so it makes me think about how many customers have walked away with a similar experience. I hope there is something done to mitigate nail techs saying inappropriate things under their breath. The fact that the owner called to listen says that at least he cares about the customers paying for service. I do still have an issue with being charged to remove my full set nails, I wouldn’t have needed to remove if she said she couldn’t service my nails prior to cutting them down and messing them up. That is why I only added one additional star to my review. I hope this information is used to enhance your business. Not dismissed, don’t allow an unprofessional nail tech to cost you money. Find quality talent and the customers will come, period. Bye!Terrible experience…. First I want to say if the staff can’t be professional then fire them. The nail tech that was set to do my nails was complaining for the start. I came with a full set, she knew before touching my nails (because you can see it) had dip powder. First she tells me they’re too long and I need them clipped. I say sure she starts clipping them then says I can’t do these nails we have to take these off and add another set. Pulls out nails that are curled, I say no thank you I don’t want that. The owner comes over states there is another way my nails can be done she starts complaining it will take 2 hours to complete that. Umm this is your job, I would have been happy to keep the nails I had on if you couldn’t do them. I was unable to do that though because she starting cutting them KNOWING she couldn’t do my nails. Terrible experience. Waste of a 40 minute drive. To be clear when booking I thought this was the other LUXI nails. I love that salon. Go to the one across the street. LUXI Somerset, this place is awful.They charged me 20 dollars to take off my nails that I didn’t go in wanting to take off. Horrible customer experience. You can tell it’s ultimately about money, after paying 55 dollars for a pedicure and getting screwed on my nails not sure why the owner thought it was acceptable to charge me for that. They also don’t soak your nails off the correct way. They use the machine that damages and takes layers off your nail. The nail tech cut the side of my finger being wildly aggressive since she didn’t want to do my nails to begin with.

I was so pleased with my full set gel manicure with Lory. Watching her work was like watching an artis t. She was so particular with her work and the massage was an unexpected bonus . I enjoyed my experience and would definitely come back.

Honestly was a great experience, they did my nails how I liked them and exceeded my expectations. 10/10 recommend and gonna come again.

I have been a customer for 18 years and have never been disappointed. The shop is immaculate and the staff is very nice. I highly recommend Luxi Nails 2.

Place is going down hill. I have been going here for almost a decade. Sadly I think this visit was my last. There were little things that really agitated me on this visit like cold water for my pedicure and manicure. They don’t let you pay for your tip on the credit card and there isn’t a sign indicating tips are cash only. Additionally my pedicure massage was lackluster and it felt like she spent 30 seconds on each leg. It felt like she was just touching my leg. Zero effort. The polish came out fine and the edges were clean. That’s why I gave them 3 stars.

Go to the other Luxi by Panera or another salon because I think they have weird practices here.——-I am appalled at the shadiness of this place. We always go to the luxi by the Wells Fargo and by mistake my daughter ended up here. This place does not check if you have an appointment and just takes you in. If you have another appointment at another location you can be charged for not showing up. These guys just took my daughter without verifying and we ended up getting charged. This is some very shady business and I do not recommend this salon to anyone. Be wary of this place.

I recently went in for a manicure for the first time. It was a pleasant experience and my manicurist did a great job! I’ll definitely return for future manicure and pedicures.

Gave this place three stars because of how clean and tranquil it was. Tech messed up my nails pretty badly, I was very patient as they tried different techniques to fix it . After sitting there way to long for a gel mani, it still wasn’t fixed I had to go. The owner/manager gave me a $10 gift certificate for next time but I felt I should have gotten the discount right there on the messed up nails. He said he wanted me to come back so he can fix it, but she didn’t even clean my cuticles so I already knew I wasn’t going back. Maybe I’ll give them a chance again in the future but def not any time soon.

My 1st time was not good, but I called and returned for the correction, which was done. Im now very happy with the service Im receiving. I also enjoy the quiet time and its very relaxing.

Compared to other nail salons that Ive gone to in my immediate area I would say that this is the best. There are two Luxi Nails so this review is for Luxi Nail II. It is a little more expensive than the same Luxi Nail across the street but I dont mind paying the extra money. The place is newer and the spa treatments used are a step up. A manicure pedicure cost $41 and I gladly pay it because the place is always clean (which is important to me) and I can get an appointment just about anytime or I can even just do a walk-in .

Only giving this one star because I cant go any lower. THIS IS THE WORST NAIL SALON!! DO NOT GO HERE! I cannot believe this place. I went on Saturday with my mom and I was appalled. We both got a pedicure and manicure. While the nail technician was doing my moms pedicure, my mom asked if she would also be doing her nails. The technician responded, Oh I hope not. If the other nail technicians are not busy then Ill have someone else do them, but if they are, I guess Ill do them. My mom and I were shocked. The same lady ended up doing her nails. My mom had asked for coffin shaped nails and then ended up changing her mind. The nail technician responded, Oh good because I was going to tell you no because that would be more work for me. Her nails came out horrible. They were bubbled up. The technician who did my nails was too worried about being on her phone instead of paying attention to me. She cut me twice. She didnt even take of my nail polish completely before starting a fill. My acrylic came out bumpy. My mom called today to speak to the owner to tell her about what happened, and she hung up on her! What kind of owner does that? Trust me save your money! I suggest A&T nail salon. I will never come here again.

This salon is most clean, professional and relaxing salon I’ve ever been to. They do a great job on your nails and the customer service is unbelievably good.

I love luxi 2. I drive 20 minutes just to get my nails done by them. They do amazing work. They prices are very good also.

I am 38 weeks pregnant and a spa pedicure is exactly what I needed! Luxi 2 is always so clean and the staff so friendly! Highly recommend for all soon to be mommas!

Ive been going here every two weeks for more than a year, and recently, when I picked a color that wasnt sparkly and requested one layer of sparkle on top of it, the manager berated the girl who did my nails for not charging me more. Number one, do NOT speak to your hard-working employees like that in front of a customer. Number two, I come every two weeks and pay your already high prices, and youre going to nickel and dime me over one coat of sparkle? I was shocked and uncomfortable and didnt address it in the moment, but it really turned my whole experience at this place sour. I will not be back.

Absolutely LOVE THIS PLACE!! You get A+ treatment here and the owner Sue remembers all regular clients BY THEIR FIRST NAME and greets everyone who enters her facilities with a warm welcome! She and her staff are amazing and really cater to their clients!! I always wonder how Sue can remember everyones name without even looking on the appointment list! This place is always packed ! So I recommend you make an appointment or get your nails done in the mornings on and day between Mon-Wed. Otherwise make an appointment. I have been a regular customer since they opened their doors in 2006!! I Highly recommend this place if you are looking for CLASS, CLEANLINESS, FREE MASSAGE and EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Been going here since it opened. My favorite is Lourdes. She is fantastic and gives the best leg and foot massages. Clean place, friendly staff. Five star all the way

I wish I could say it was a Spa experience but it is not always such. Many of the personnel are great, especially Lourdes, she does and pays attention to the client needs . There are attention few other technicians who are also good. But some are so busy trying to see what the other technicians are doing. Recently I had one work on one hand and forgot to do most of the things she was suppose to do on my other hand, she did what I would call a 1/2:Ass job, I wont be using her again because she was busy watching what everyone else was doing and not me her client. Susan is great and also pleasant and professional. I think they need to retool and make the place an experience to remember not an experience. I have berm coming to this location when they were in Highland Park and Somerset since they opened. Its a convenient location. I hope they improve the quality of their service.

My 83 year old grandma has been going here for years. After deciding not to drive anymore, she isnt able to go as frequently. I took her to get her nails done today and when we were at the counter to pay, they told her it would be $5 more than the normal price since she isnt coming every other week. I was absolutely disgusted and will never take here again. It is disgraceful for them to try to take advantage of an elderly woman.

Over priced and the woman who did my nails didnt even know what she was doing! She burnt me TWICE while utilizing the filling machine to do my nails and used entirely too much acrylic to fill my nails! Save your money and go to Millennium Nails on Main Street in South Bound Brook and ask for Heather! Shes an authentic Asian woman/ owner who knows how nails should be done! Ps.... Save your money and go somewhere

I just left Luxi nails and I was appalled. I have been a client of Luxi nails for years as of today I will no longer patronize this establishment. Apparently the technicians pick and choose whom nails they prefer to work on. I was first to walk in and one of the male technicians walked up and asked me what I was getting done I said a regular manicure another woman of a different ethnicity walked in one minute after me with no appointment said she was getting a regular manicure as well he proceeded to do her nails first. I mentioned I was first and he said absoutely nothing he knew EXACTLY what he was doing. I know a lot of people who patronize this nailsalon as of today they will all know how I was treated and disrespected.

Im only giving 1 star because I cant go lower. I had the worst salon experience ever at this location. Low quality products, HORRIBLE SERVICE, nothing luxurious about this hole. All of the customers watched in disbelief as that worker tried to embarrass me because she couldnt do nail art. Do you guys realize how uncomfortable that you made everyone in the salon?!? Then, you sent another worker that could do art, but charged me an additional $40?!? The worker literally itemized every detail! Why? When I showed my Luxi card and asked to speak with Sue, the owner, I was told that she was eating. She wouldnt even acknowledge me, a customer. If you come here, your nails will begin to break within the first to second week. I promise that.

Was at hand and stone spa by this facility which is phenomenal btw and stopped in here to get money for the person at the spa. I asked because I was curious how much for a full set with gel polish & this rude woman told me $ 90.00....... Aww hell no! Yall robbing people blind! Go to Millennium nails around the corner on main street in South bound brook, youll be glad you did!

I’d never go here again. It’s pretty inside and people are okay! BUT the gel nail polish they use is cheap af. I had my nails three days ago and the gel is already bubbling up on a couple nails and peeling on the others! It isn’t cheap either I paid 55.00 I will never go back here Again I will stick with Williston nails! They have the best gel nail polish! And tommy does the best

Im usually not one to post reviews but I checked out angry .. walked in for a pedicure and asked how much a GEL pedicure was the owner told me $30 I said ok .. she didnt soak my feet to remove previous gel easily and was filing in opposite direction which was so jaw clenching and irritating. I had to tell technican to peel off the gel. I was so uncomfortable in the chair with my legs up to my stomach in order to put my feet into lights massage was quick and gloves werent neccassary. When leaving to pay its was $55 insane ! I dont even pay that much for my pink fill and gel color. I will not be coming back here. The owner wouldnt even come out to speak to me .. she was eating lunch. Unprofessional!!!!

I had been going to Luxi nails for over 10 years. First in Highland Park and then when they moved to Somerset. I have for the most part always had a great experience which is why I stayed with them for so long. I moved about 4 months ago so Ive been at a different salon ( love them Aree Nails in Holmdel ). I had a meeting in the area so I went in to get a gel manicure... BIG MISTAKE !! I was there for an hour and 15 minutes... Yes you read that right. My nails look horrible, the girl doing them had no idea what she was doing. She kept trying to talk me into a different color and when I wouldnt budge she didnt say another word to me the entire time. So I paid $35 for a gel manicure ( my new nail salon is $25 btw ) and my nails look horrible.

What makes this nail spa different, their management team is on the floor, assisting the staff in small ways. This atmosphere, gives you the sense that they care for the business beyond what is expected from any other nail spa, I have visited.

Price seems to change each time I go, but Im happy with the outcome of my nails.
