Mattison Avenue Salon Suites & Spa

This is such a hidden gem. I own a hair business and did a tour with the lady in the leasing office and loved the building. Price points were great and the facility is clean. I’m checking more spots but I’ll likely move my business here.

I love this place. I came over the weekend to peek around and fell in love with how everything is set up. I used to get my nails done here and will probably open up my storefront here. It’s definitely a good spot.

As a barber, this is a good spot to house my business. The mall is close, lots of food spots, and it’s clean.

Please don’t locate your business here. I can’t help but feel so disappointed in myself by moving here. I’ve been here in suite 225 for 3 weeks. Last week the ac went out that was my second week. Now this is my 3 week there and the ac is out again. My suite is hot and stuffy even though I brought a fan to help cool me and my clients down. The ac going out seems to be a reoccurring problem and they don’t ever fix it completely just put a band aid on it. Truly frustrating having to chose between working in hot uncomfortable conditions or cancelling your clients and risk losing them and not making enough money as this is our business and source of income. I signed a year lease. And I’m only 3 weeks in dealing with such stressful working conditions. This is extremely unprofessional.

I’ve been at this Salon for only a year. When I first moved in the AC was out for over a week. As I moved my belongings in on last year a tenant informed me that this happens ALL the time. I can say for myself the AC is an ongoing issue since I have been here. The air has gone out at least 3 times that I can count since I’ve been at the SugarLand location. Having to cancel client is not only extremely unprofessional but super embarrassing. Every time we ask to be compensated we either hear nothing back or get told they have to see first. They expect us to pay on time and automatically pull rent from our accounts yet when an issue happens they say NOTHING about compensating.I nearly passed out on my client this morning. With me being 5 months pregnant and working in the heat with my dryers, led lights and appliances going is unbearable. So needless to say this shouldn’t be your first choice.Super nice building and location but they do not care about their tenants. I’m highly disappointed.

I’ve been coming here for over two years. This is the second time I’ve been there in two years to get my haircut and my barber did not have A/C in the whole building. It was so hot in the whole building I was sweating out my shirt. This is so unprofessional, half the fans weren’t even on the other half were dripping water and blowing warm air. I can’t believe an establishment like this can get away with treating its tenets and their clients this way, I told my barber there is no way in hell I would stay and pay for that kind of treatment,👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼three thumbs down for Madison Avenue salon suites, and their whole establishment of brands.

The buildings AC has been out for a month at this point and there is still no solid answers. Management doesnt know what is going on. They want people to pay weekly for their suites but if they cant operate in the building how can they pay? Theyve done a concession for 2 weeks but continue to push back the date of when the unit will be fixed. The suites can get up to 93 degrees and up.THESE ARE NOT WORKING CONDITIONS. Please do not get a suite here. Management has changed over and still will do nothing about this AC issue. This has been an ongoing issue for YEARS and if you want to get anything done they will not be in the office because theyre not interested in answering any questions in person. DO NOT RENT A SUITE HERE I PROMISE IT MAY LOOK NICE BUT IT IS NOT RAN WELL

As a client Ive been extremely disappointed with the cancellations due to the buildings A/C completely going out in this scorching Texas heat. While I do understand that systems do fail, this problem has been recurrent every summer. The previous fixes have only been a temporary solution, and should have been an indication to replace the system. While Im awfully frustrated as a client, I know the Salon owners are having to deal with a lot. The fact that some of the workers are actually trying to work in this heat should put Mattison Avenue to shame. Businesses have to run, and the fact that Mattison Avenue as a Landlord has done zero to nothing to compensate these Salon owners is upsetting.

While this place is at a convenient location and the suites are beautiful there has been multiple times that the AC has broken down when it’s needed the most.It is unacceptable for renters and customers to have to endure loss of time and money. The AC unit is very old and parts to replace the old are days out.Again beautiful suite and location but also filled with empty promises.Fix the AC

I have been leasing here for about a year and a half and the AC has gone out 7 times! It is never really fixed.The company seems to not care about this situation. I’m always the nice guy in situations like this but ENOUGH is ENOUGH!I’m so tired of being embarrassed having a business here. PLEASE do not waste your money or time here!You have been warned!

Ive been going to Lena at Mattison Avenue Sugar Land for years. She is a great stylist who always knows exactly what I want for both cut and color. I always leave feeling like a new person! Her suite is modern, light and bright and the location is convenient - easy access from 59 and hwy 6.

UPDATE 7/13/23 Things are still garbage here. The management doesn’t communicate and you will burn up with no AC BECAUSE THEY STILL REQUIRE YOU TO PAY.So I’ve been here since February of this year and it’s been a hot mess. If you want to lose your money when their AC units are out every other month then by all means come and rent a space out. There’s poor communication and it recently just took a whole week to get the AC back up and just for it to be out again. All the tenants that work here with me all are upset and not happy with working conditions, no one higher up reaches back out to you and never make accommodations for weekly rent when things go wrong. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND DO NOT LEASE A ROOM HERE!!!

DO NOT LEASE A SUITE FROM MATTISON AVENUE!!! I am currently renting a suite at Mattison Avenue SugarLand since June 2022. The AC has been out for a week now since July 10th 2022 leaving all tenants unable to work.Temperatures in the suites have reached 94 degrees! Apparently this is the 6th time since 2021 that the AC has gone out. It’s clear the building is in need of a new entire AC unit but the owners just keep replacing small parts every 2-3 months leaving tenants to suffer their poor decision making and management. Every time the AC goes out tenants are unable to work for about a week. The amount of lost wages during these times is hard to swallow and Mattison Avenue offers NO FORM OF COMPENSATION and still expects timely rent. They do not care about their tenants at all. Mattison Avenue is a million dollar corporate business with numerous locations and can definitely afford to replace the AC unit in order to stop this ongoing issue. Needless to say I will be moving when my lease is up as well as MANY of the current tenants. I definitely will make sure to warn anyone I know with a small business MATTISON AVENUE is NOT the place you want to go to lease a suite.-edit July 11 2023 I was assured before I renewed my lease that this issue was fixed. This is the ONLY reason I was comfortable to expand to 2 suites and add 6 months into my lease.A/c issue has not been fixed. This is the 3 rd time this year alone that we’ve had AC issues. Mattison Avenue again is putting a bandaid on the situation instead of tackling the main issue. Safe to say I will not renew my lease nor will I recommend anyone to lease from hereUpdate- July 27. Ac is still not completely fixed although they’re saying it is after 17 days of no AC and many of us paying out of pocket to relocate temporarily in order to conduct business.Room temps are reading close to 90 degrees. Reaching out to regional and corporate has been a headache because they either ignore us or respond with very unprofessional wording and say to “send an upkeep/support ticket” nothing is being done about our AC issue. Again DO NOT LEASE FROM HERE!!!

I have been a tenant at Mattison Avenue since November 2021. Since being here the A/c has been down 2 times for a week at a time within 2 months. Both times management has failed to notify me with an email or any type of message to let me know, leaving me to cancel all appointments day of. They have not fixed the full a/c problem and did not care to give enough notice of the problem through the week it was out. They did not want to compensate for an ongoing problem that leaves us out of work for a week at a time. This A/c issue has caused multiple damages to the suites and products used by tenants.They do not value their tenants at all they make up rules as they go for your time being there, and brush off all issues that go on. I will not be renewing my lease or encouraging anyone to rent here .

THEY THINK THEY ARE SLICK!!! Business have been without HVAC for over a week!! No compensation. NOTHING. Business have lost revenue lost customers LOSING MONEY!!! Yet they still expect every business to pay rent. REALLY!!! Just because you delete the negative comments don’t make you respectable. TIME TO ADD PRESSURE!!!!

This is absolutely ridiculous. I was one of the first few that started out back in Feb/march 2020. It’s been nothing but disappointing here. It’s probably the 10/12th time the ac has gone out in two years. And when it goes out, it’s out for a week. Instead of biting the bullet and buying a new ac unit, they keep trying to “buy parts” to fix it. Yo this building is quite old prior to it even being “Mattison salons.” The least they could do is respect their tenants, and replace the ac much less compensate us.

It was very hot, my stylist had to reschedule me over and over and they won’t fix the A/C apparently…. It’s an on going issue with them (the building). It’s so unfortunate and disappointing to come to an “upscale” place and it’s so hot that I’m unable to receive my service.My stylist is amazing, due to that her booking is several months out and I was anticipating my appointment, which now I have to wait AGAIN!!! LIVID!!!!!!!

My wife and I are lead stylist at Mattison Ave….HELL WEEK! 🥵 FIRST OFF, BIG THANK YOU TO @pennyfair AND @lesscissors FOR LETTING US BE GUEST IN THERE NEW SALON!!……. Long story short, @mattisonsalonsuites is without AC for the 6th time since 2021. This time it was out for seven days. The amount of money lost is unbelievable. For a company worth millions, you would think they could install a new AC unit. Its been one small band-Aid after another. After tears and scrabbling, @kriticray and I found the support we needed with Cullen and his wife, Penny! Beyond thankful for these wonderful humans! They haven’t offered us any form of Compensation.

The entire establishment is suffering in this TEXAS HEAT. As a client I’d never again want to be sweating at any service I’m paying for. I support my service provider and feel terrible the work environment is SO HOT! I’m there for a while, not an entire work day. God bless everyone trying their best.What a sub par way to be with the people who the establishment owners earn from.There’s a special place for you, equally hot as this place.

I go to Manny Guerro in 232. He is fabulous at color and one of the few stylists in Houston I would trust and I have been to a few lol!

Run Fast This place is unorganized, unprofessional, messy, disrespectful, nasty restrooms, AC never works, takes weeks to fix things. Please think twice about locating your business here, yes the location is great beside no parking. You’ll thank me later or wish you would have listened to me. I also think it’s unprofessional of Google to remove reviews that are true facts

This building is very unprofessional with their tenants. They have no working AC and this isn’t the first time that this has happen here. It’s a big inconvenience to their tenant. This shouldn’t be happening!

This is a great place to get have all of you hair needs met! And while you’re at it, schedule yourself a facial and a massage!

If I could give zero stars I would this place had broken ac system which had to make my hairdresser switch my appt and I’m sure many others around. This is time loss for her and money but also for the customers.

Nice, clean, satisfactory flooring. The shops appear clean, bathrooms are clean. I did not see hand sanitizer by the stairs or around the doors.

Barber is great , building has air-condition out and hot.

There is no AC most of the time. Atleast 4-5 times that I have experienced.

Seems like the AC is constantly broke. Terrible getting a haircut with sweat running down.

Never employ a clearly racist individual, bad hiring and ethics practices.
