During other instances they’ve tried to overcharge for wells cocktails, refused to accept foreign IDs such as a passport, and the bartenders have just been rude despite showing gratitude and politeness. but this was truly the breaking point: a drunk dude made me spill my drink over myself when he bumped into me. i asked the bartender if i could get a refill and even offered to pay again for the drink. he thought i was drunk myself and decided to cut me off despite explaining what happened. that was my first drink of the night too… bartenders are poorly trained and have poor judgment, i will not be returning to this place
The purple haired tender (Tasha) really earned a five star review. Not only did the drinks flow, but so did the conversation. Great recommendations on the tacos, and her margaritas hit hard. I vote YES for this spot and the staff!
Of course this is only my opinion but casa bar is the best bar hands down in Tempe Arizona! It is a happening place to be, and let me tell you about location... it is right off of Mill avenue and 6th St. I have been here many times before and used to spend a lot of time here in the past but I have not been in so long. The bartender Trevor and the waitress Karley were so friendly and went over and beyond restaurant service. I mean they really make you feel super comfortable within the minute you walk in! There are so many bars and restaurants to choose from in Tempe that this is a huge MUST for me Customer service goes a long way... I dont care how good the food or drinks are in a place if there is piss poor customer service I will not be there. The ambience here alone is worth the visit even have live DJs if I could give them more stars I would great job Trevor and Karley you rock...
If I could give zero stars I would. This is solely based on the attitude of their security guards towards paying customers. The management at CASA needs to seriously rethink on how they train their security guards on the topic of customer service. Body slamming customers for asking to use the restroom! Seriously?!? Avoid this place at all cost!!! Don’t go to CASA plain and simple. You can’t even call a number to speak to someone, probably because they know they suck at everything in the service industry!
Waited in line for 15 minutes to get kicked out in less than 5 minutes, and my full drink was thrown out because of a power trip from one of the security guards. Hadnt even had my first sip when this guy asked me leave. After asking for a reason for getting thrown out, the the police were called over. Worst thing was the police said they had the right to refuse service to anyone, but why take my money first then throw me out with no explanation.
Terrible place to go. You’ll have fun if you’re under or just turned 21. Bouncers are incredibly rude and unprofessional, most of the time the music sucks, lines are not worth the wait. Literally go anywhere else on mill if you actually want to enjoy yourself
I have mixed feelings about this place, first the atmosphere is good everyone is so chill & having a good time, drinks are good. But the only problem I have is the music way too much EDM some play some good music but end up doing a edm remix at the end which is so annoying and boring edm after edm just starting to feel like a fly buzzing in your ear at that point
My girl had to poop and the security kicked her out for taking 3 minutes in the bathroom 😭. I told the bouncer that I understood because there’s college kids that over drink and throw up but like girl had to poop from some bad carne asada fries she ate earlier and they didn’t let her stay. They said I could go in and even though she could pass a sobriety test she wasn’t allowed back in. They were acting like she blew up the bathroom
Bouncer wouldnt let my girlfriend and I in because we were using foreign passports as ID, and then proposed to our friends that they could pay 250$ each for us to get in (w legal ID).. We just laughed and walked away. Dont waste your time here. There are plenty of other places around that are more sensible.
I was attacked by bouncers here for literally no reason claiming I was disturbing patron with my back against the wall. Can’t wait to sue the whole establishment.
I don’t do many reviews but I went here for Taco Tuesday 6/22/21 and had the worst carne asada taco ever. Carne asada was way over cooked, salty and greasy. I’m guessing it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while, it was literally crunchy. Wait staff wasn’t rude, but seemed to be inexperienced and unmotivated, they spent more time talking to their friends than customers. I’m not sure what the kitchen setup is but when leaving I noticed that the staff was bringing the food out from what looked like a different building, walking it through what looks to be the outdoor trash area (almost looks like an alley). In the photo, the circle is the industrial trash container that they walk pass with your food
I have been coming to Casa Bar for a long time I kind of miss the old employees that were there that are gone now some of the new employees just arent the same obviously its a bar so theres its not a great place to bring children no high chairs wheelchair access and theyre growing they already have the second edition added already and its open there is a rooftop access loud I would say techno house music played all night the great atmosphere for college students and its probably Id say the best bar here in Tempe!
The wait staff are rude and very immature - the girl with the terrible blond hair and two/ three young white guys. Openly mocked me to another member of staff and didn’t care that I saw. No atmosphere. Reading the other reviews, it’s well known for this.
Went there with friends around Thursday at midnight in June so there werent many students around. I appreciate that the bartender that was serving my friends and I was attentive and looking out for us, especially since one of my friends drank a couple of AMFs. They made our drinks fast and the green tea shots were good. The bathrooms were very clean as well.
Needs more bathrooms. It was faster to piss around a corner and get back in then to wait in line for the restroom. No wonder
Having fun here is hit or miss depending on how crowded it is here. The upstairs bar area is really nice, and they have some cool spots on the patio. The inside dance floor becomes a sea of people really fast. I ended up stuck in the hallway while trying to leave. People were pushing and shoving to get to the bathroom and I ended up getting thrown into the wall, hard, because of the force of people pushing. I’ve had plenty of good experiences here before, but when it gets busy, it can get dangerous and extremely overwhelming to be in. Be careful, and don’t risk going in if it looks too full, because it doesn’t seem like they bother capping at capacity.
I personally have been going to casa for 4+ years even after I’ve graduated and recommended countless people. Maria for the girls bathroom is the actual worst not only is she freakishly inappropriate with the girls in there she kicked my friend out for throwing up which she did not do and I watched her. I’ve honestly known her for years just from casa and she always brings a creepy presence but this was actually insane but I ignored till now.
Unbelievably rude staff. I ordered a drink and the lady proceeds to make a bucket drink without asking me, which is almost double the price of a regular drink. I quickly try to remind her she then proceeds to yell and give me a disgusted face stating she “already started” making the drink when all she did was fill a bucket with ice. Stay away from this bar on mill much better options where the staff actually treats you like a human. Update: Name of the bartender is Angeles Bernal curly hair, please learn how to treat customers with respect thanks :)
The employees/ bouncers regularly go on a power trip here, overly aggressive/ rude, have seen regular assaults and abuse of patrons from the bouncers here, would avoid going out to this place entirely, management is unable to control their environment creating an unsafe experience for customers, i was walking away and this bouncer pushed me in my back off the sidewalk outside the venue resulting in a twisted ankle amongst other unprovoked injuries and the other bouncer slapped my phone out of my hand
I have never wrote a bad review but tonight was something else. I went to the restroom and was washing my hands when out of no where the lady who watches over the restroom kicks me out. I wasn’t doing anything out of the normal, just washing my hands and checking my make up. While you have girls in there doing dr*gs lol what a joke of a place.
Bouncer told us that they dont accept Arizona identification cards as a form of ID even though they legally have to. He said they have to be flipped sideways which if he knew how to do his job hed know that ID cards only come vertical. When you try to explain and ask why he just proceeds to walk away from us and ignore us. pretty sure his name is gave or something
The Girl bartener with the short hair is so rude!! She has a nasty attitude!!!!!!
You guys hire the most BLIND people. One of your “bouncers” claimed to see one of our people “jump” over the fence when in REALITY she was just talking to a friend outside the line. Maybe hire people that can ACTUALLY see 20/20? I know for a fact his glasses don’t work.
Central location with decent beer choices and great happy hour. Both a local and college bar, the clientele is very mixed and diverse, even generationally. Attentive, friendly, professional staff.
They sold me drinks without alcohol at full price. Avoid this place they will try to scam you. Especially the the short hair brunette who says “I trust my bartenders” and her small package backup.
Angeles Bernal is amazing served up the best margarita I’ve ever had! I’ve been coming here for 5yrs because she always shows that she loves her patrons!Camryn is the also another great addition to the staff! Always smiling, paying attention to my needs and others! There is a reason Casa has been on Mill Ave for so long!! ❤️
I love casa! such a great vibe every time. Make sure you to see Angeles the bartender, she so nice and makes the best drinks! 👌🏼
Place is ok not as big as to the ratio of people they let in and sometimes it hard to order drinks there. And be aware of a guy name Eli that claims he is a player on the Suns professional basketball association, he is a scammer, liar and cheater and scammed me by committing fraud on my account and out of 40,000 for driving services.
By reading some of the other reviews, it appears that this place needs to address their bouncer situation and their service. When I ate here for taco Tuesday, about a year ago, I was very impressed. Their steak taco was cooked perfectly.Overall, I didnt think that this place was bad. Even though there is not a whole lot of space, especially if it fills up. This place is outdoors btw, in case you did not realize it.
Fun for college students. Great music and atmosphere for the under 25 crowd. Very packed every weekend when ASU is in session. Great deals on 32oz buckets of booze every day. Fun place if you’re young and in the mood to get crazy. If you’re looking for a casual drink, this probably isn’t the place (unless you come in the afternoon for drinks on the patio).
Becareful they scam you and tip them self more than you left and I was sober ( designated driver ) so I remember what I paid and they didn’t even give me a receipt I tip the girl at the fast line and the bartender BOTH were chartered more than what I left !!!
This place used to be the number one spot on Mill. Buckets at Casa was a theme for everyone I knew. Ever since the remodel their service sucks. I waited 30 minutes for a server to ask me what I wanted. She even looked at me and smiled as a “I’ll be right with you look” then proceeded to ignore me. I left without ordering.Old casa good, new casa bad.
Definitely a fun place, with a nice balance between the indoor nightclub and the outdoor patio area. The drinks are usually pretty good, and the buckets are worth it.It can get really crowded the later it gets, so be prepared to be bumping some elbows.
They have a long list at the entrance explaining dress code and other miscellaneous reasons to avoid service. Face tattoos is not on there. My friend who is clean cut and covered in nice ink has three tiny dots on his cheek and they refused him service. He has money and nice ink but they acted like he was a scum bag gang member. Too intimidating and triggering for the beta male soy boys to drink comfortably? Also, skim through these negative comments and notice how unprofessional the management is in their responses to past customers.
Most racist place I’ve ever had the misfortune to encounter, I went with my cousins that were visiting from Colombia and were denied entry because the bouncer said that it was a a bar for Americans only, and their passport was not good enough.
It was sweaty and stinky inside, but music was 🔥
0 stars. Garbage tacos and disgusting drinks. I like dive bars but The atmosphere here is not fun or exciting. Waiters and bouncers are rude and it’s not worth anyone’s time or money. I know what to expect on mill ave but this place is low class and a total dump. Avoid at all costs- I will never return.
So the polite way of describing this place is screw this bar. After being here several time, my colleague and I brought both sponsors and clients from a local event we were hosting. Without any issues, we arrived and received drinks from the bar. After some time, I decided I needed to use the restroom in which I found a long line for the women’s restroom. Some time passed and the ling stayed the same but I noticed the few guys I say go into the restroom had already come out. So I asked the last guy I saw, is any else left? He said pretty much no. So he held the door open for me. I noticed a young man in the restroom and asked if he was okay if I used the bathroom. He didn’t have a problem with it so I went to go close the the restroom stall which is doesn’t close (weird). The young man said he would block the door for me but once starting there was a knock telling him to get out from a bouncer (bald, white guy). The young man responded that someone (myself) was using the restroom. He proceeded to say the young man needed to leave and I also needed to leave. The young man left and after I left to head to my friends, I was shortly told that I was kicked out of the bar (didn’t reach my friend’s, had to go around the outside patio to tell them I was kicked out and the bouncer proceeded to follow me to tell he other bouncer I was kicked out).Literally, the businessmen I was with are worth millions so on top of losing out on hundreds tonight (bill+tip), they will continue to lose out on money because I refuse to come back here again for reoccurring service. Plus, I will NEVER encourage business partners nor sponsors to come here again and I will actively discourage locals from coming here in the future. This was downright unnecessary as one of our male sponsors went into the restroom after this happened. Two women walked in and nothing happened to them. They continued to be allowed in the bar without any issues. No one even acknowledged them in the restroom at all.TLDR: This bar sucks. Don’t go here unless you want to be kicked out for using the restroom when your gendered restroom is busy.
CASA is usually a very fun bar with a good atmosphere. However, my group was turned away because an individual was wearing Jordan shoes. Not sure what this rules is for as I have worn Birkenstock into the establishment with no problem. There is clearly something more sinister than trying to keep up a certain dress code within the bar.
CASA Tempe is a great place to hang out during the day on the patio. The food/drinks are great and the environment is laid back and relaxing. At night, the patio gets busy with college students and Tempe locals. Although it stays pretty busy, the service is always top notch and the employees are friendly and knowledgeable. Ive never once had a bad experience here!
I must say, its 7pm and one of the employees accidentally sprayed beer on me while poring a drink. In return he gave me a free Pale Ale on the house. Now this is one great place that knows how to treat there customers and make them feel welcome!Thank you C.AS.A. Tempe!JT
Literally stumbled across this gem looking for another restaurant that was closed on Monday. So we had seen this spot and tried it for lunch. All 3 of us enjoyed and were impressed with quality and freshness of their food.Shared an appetizer as well.Nice selection tion of micro brews.Have to get to downtown Tempe more often.
This place has an amazing happy hour, half off drafts before six and a huge selection. Taco Tuesday is delicious and affordable. We always come here to start our night and will continue to do so
Overcharged. Initially bought a refillable cup and as the night went on I was being charged more and more for just the two drinks that were supposed to be at a discount with the refillable cup. Paid for well vodka and club soda. $44 for two drinks at the end of the night? The bartender obviously took advantage as the night went on. Nothing I could do since my card was already charged..I didnt leave my card for a tab either so I dont understand how it was that much? Safe to say, lesson learned. I will not be coming back. Thanks.
The entire staff was incredibly rude and prejudice. If you read all the comments it’s clear to see that. The bouncers will kick you out for nothing and assault you without even asking you to leave. They have a lawsuit coming against them. never going back there plus they charge you for drinks you don’t even order. They are extremely discriminating against lgbt. Don’t waste your time or your money
I was assaulted by a bouncer who also assaulted my girlfriend for no reason. This establishment is garbage and the people who work there are garbage
Great music! Gets packed and the drinks seem cheap but they arent very generous with the alcohol. I would recommend for dancing purposes but not so much for getting drunk.
Absolutely terrible! The bouncer Brennan was rude and disrespectful to our group and tried to show off his privilege to our minority group. Recommend plenty of other places near Mill Ave that have respectful staff.
One of my favorite places! The atmosphere is super fun. They usually have a live band or a dj. You can sit out side on the bottom level or get a better view of mill ave from the second level. Its a pretty chill place with a variety of microbrews on tap.
Good food, great vibe and decent prices! What more can you ask for on mill avenue?I havent been for food since they opened the taco shop next door, but I love the steak breakfast burrito and bean dip.Definitely a fun stop during a mill visit!
I was dressed in all new clean clothes. They wouldnt let me in because I had basketball shoes. They were just black Nikes nothing crazy. The bouncer had Jordans on, and when I looked there were flip flops, shoes with holes, vans, and Nikes all in there. The bouncer was 100% just pissed that I was walking in with an attractive colored girl. He was colored and Im white. My girl even said he was looking her up and down. Gross place. ✌
Went to the dance floor here last Saturday. It was very popular and the DJ was playing a decent set.My only complaint is the dance floor is VERY small and underventilated. It was hard to dance with people constantly pushing past.
Would be a better place if A. the staff were not rude as hell! And B. If the security was consistent! I sat at the bar, raised my hand not even two feet away from the bar tender noticing she was ringing someone up and said excuse me,my friend and I want to order something when you get a sec!) Any normal person wouldve said ok hang on,...give me a sec...,sure,...got some orders ahead of you,...something to acknowledge that they heard you...not her...so I repeat the same thing thinking maybe she didnt hear me despite my being so close as she didnt make eye contact and its loud in there...still no response!!! I wait a second then I proceeded to repeat thinking she still didnt hear me and said excuse me and she cuts me off as Im starting to ask and said I heard you and walked away! Really??? I spotted someone taking drinks on the floor and ordered through her instead! Not professional at all for business!!!!! Also was denied entry two days prior for having on athletic wearand he stated that he hated to but its his job after 9pm to enforce the rules. I saw them do the same last night to some others but observed them tell a white female last night the very same thing only to have her say please just a few drinks and he let her in with no push back or resistance... along with her three friends after her whom by the way were within the dress code...but she was in full gym mode gear sports bra and all!!!! I Can get even deeper but Ill pass and just say I will not be coming back!
Im soo sad the only reason wed go during the day was for the vegitarian/vegan Carne Asada theyve had forever. Since theyve closed OG Taco its gone down hill. The menu is limited now in the wrong way
Pretty cool vibe, I go to these places for the lighting and sound and to check out the status of the deejay art today. And to judge the bartenders mixing up a Tom Collins around town. Here we had to Google one ingredient, she had the right one, it turned out great. And personality more than made up for using Google for ingredient confirmation seeking. Lol. 😉
Worst service I have ever had. Not friendly to bikers. Stood at the bar for at least 10 minutes while the bartender played on his iPad. and when asked to have a drink he stated Ill be right with you Then we waited another few minutes. We ended up leaving very unpleased with our experience there. Just a bunch of college age kids with lack of awareness that Bikers like to have a cold drink after a long ride.. and not to mention tends to spend money and tip well. their lose, we went down the road.
The worst service of all time. They did not seat us even though we were in line to eat. The “manager” said we were next, but they served an all white crowd before they served us. We were skipped over unfairly- and the person at the front desk, Brennan, was especially rude and disrespectful to to our group of 35+ aged women. Our group felt as if they were discriminated against because of our skin color. He yelled at the women in our group, and we felt threatened. DO NOT PATRON THIS BUSINESS
Place is pretty alright. Lot of beers but unfortunately they get warm pretty fast outside. Also the outdoor bar stinks, like really bad. I honestly loved this place if it didnt smell so bad
This is a pretty hot club. They have an upstairs balcony. My friend and I ordered what we called a bucket of death. It was just that. A very tasty vodka and redbull got us started for the night. Followed by a refill of Death Island iced teas. Again, very tasty. They played great music and of course, lots of ASU kids.
Was a regular for years... My buddies and I have had our share of fun here, been told on the occasion when weve had too much and thats been fair. Last week I watched my friends get told to leave after another heavily intoxicated individual threatened my friend to fight. We arent that type, so my other friend asked security to help out, instead of removing the guy all worked up he kicked them out then had me pay their tab because they werent allowed back in..... Couldnt have been more disappointed in this place. First they get rid of the albondigas burger and now they dont take care of their regulars. This place has lost its soul. Would be nice to see this place learn to chew its cake with its mouth closed.
Friday night on the 16th I was there for a best friends birthday with VIP and bottle service in the club. Let me say I’m born n raised Tempe Arizona Meyer, McKamey junior high, McClintock High & ASU. I love me some Tempe,Mill Avenue! I especially love casa! Unfortunately I didn’t have them the best visit on that night of the 16th due to the unfortunate service or lack there if from our bottle attendant. I did speak to the manager that evening he was quite curious. I would like him to give me a call back as soon as possible. I have some photos I like to provide and also unfortunately continuously just got progressively worse through the night
Wow...just wow. I cannot believe my eyes tonight. I saw a good friend carried out by a security guard for no apparent reason. I have been a long time customer at this club, but after three separate incidents within one summer I will never go back. No limes on taco Tuesday? Seriously? There are like six neighboring bars who sell cheaper tacos and they plan accordingly with plenty of limes. Please spare yourself from the unfair/aggressive treatment to customers who dont fit the CASA stereotype. Oh, and if you do go spare yourself from the restrooms.
CASA looks like a simple bar, but do not be fooled. The food is amazing. It is a far cry from your standard bar food. They have a Mac n cheese burrito that is so delicious. The bar has a rooftop patio as well. Its nice to sit up there and watch the Mill Avenue craziness. The only downside is the parking. Unless you visit on Sunday, you have to pay to park.
Please explain to me why the5bouncer felt the need to come out and tell my husband5that he wasnt allowed to enter the bar wearing fatiques? Not sure why he felt the need to even leave his post since we hadnt even walked up to the entry way.then to be told we couldnt park our bikes on the side walk next to another establishment is beyond me. And why the second bouncer felt the need to try to intimidate a man in his 50s is beyond me. But it was fine for the half naked man to dance and panhandle the customers in the same spot we where parking?? Get a clue you mindless steroid popping twits...you do not treat the public this way. Next time you attempt to treat me like this the police will be called and I will press harassment charges. Kirk if he is still the Manager will hear about this for sure. We do know him and will report this.
If youre not a hot college student, service sucks. The bucket drinks are nice. If you get hungry, they bring you food from OG Taco, that is the best part. Food is delicious
Fun time and good drinks
The burritos are flavorless and the house made Bloody Mary is awful. The service is just as bad, if not worse. The server asked me how I liked my burrito. I said I didnt like it at all. Her response was Oh, okay.If you arent going to respond to my complaint, dont bother asking the question at all.
I would give none but cant. So Ive been cheated out of the $5 refill on the bucket countless times. Tried again tonight same thing. Says $5 refills during may, june, july, and August. But theres always a different excuse every single time no matter what. Then I see people get kicked out for no reason. My buddy is my DD and got kicked out, not one damn drink. He doesnt drink.
The security guards were extremely rude, asked ridiculous questions about the relationship between me and the guy i went with and on top of that asked me what my zodiac sign was saying i didnt look like my ID... How any of the questions they asked was going to prove anything, i dont know. After all that unnecessary harrassment they let us in but i didnt feel comfortable staying so we just left and went to Fat Tuesdays instead, had a great time there 👍
This place used to be good. I always got the vegan carne asada burrito but the last couple of times, I got extremely sick from it. The first time, I thought it was bad luck and I decided to give this place another try. The second time, my plate looked like dog food and I couldn’t take more than a couple bites. I am still recovering from the stomach issues I got at this place. Do not drink or eat here.
Super crowded with no elbow room. People rudely pushing and shoving us out of the way while we were there we left early. My spouse who has a cane got shoved hard several times by staff and other patrons and almost got knocked to the floor. Not a very friendly place.
How the hell does this place have a 3.3? We come here every year and have always had rude bouncers/bartenders. Just had a bouncer lead us somewhere else saying “they sell our exact food after 9”. The F they did!!!
Casa is my absolute favorite place to go on the weekend. The have an awesome DJ so you can have some drinks, listen to fun music and people watch on Mill in the best location on the strip. Lots of misters and shade so you dont notice the heat The food is great too!
Aside from the obvious lack of cleaning, the service I received from the bartenders was downright rude. Now only was I completely ignored for 15 minutes sitting at the bar, but when I finally caught her attention SHE was rude to ME! I will never return to this dirty establishment. Shame on you CASA.
I checked this place out because they have vegan options. Yay! I tried the Vegan Carne Asada Burrito. The flavor was awesome! It also comes with chips on the side. I look forward to going back and trying another vegan option next time.
Harper is very disrespectful when approached with a concern. My card was declined although i had Sufficient funds and she ran another card and when i went to check my bank account and again, shown more than sufficient funds realized i was Indeed seeing a charge on behalf of C.a.s.a, approached her and she immediately gave me attitude instead of helping also, said something about telling security although i was Simply asking why I’m being charged double. When she got another person involved who took my phone and took a photo. Sure, he was nicer but the problem wasn’t really being charged twice rather being disrespected for trying to resolve my issue. As a bartender myself, i understand when customers come in upset and having to deal with it but she was simply rude from the beginning. I would Not recommend this bar.. very unprofessional with handling THEIR MISTAKES!
NEVER COMING BACK! A group of 10 ordered buckets and 3 of our 7 drinks had a BUG (and one had a HAIR) in them!! Told the waitress, didn’t apologize and rolled her eyes. Worst customer service and drinks!
Dont go to this place. They have unethical business tactics, and are immoral. During my JOB INTERVIEW I watched the general manager try to fight a patron, to the point that co-workers had to restrain him. Afterwards nothing but unprofessionalism. My interviewing manager was 25 minutes late to an interview he scheduled himself. Then after interviewing offers a job, I work one shift and after seeing projected schedule I called to decline the position. Childcare would have been too expensive. Now, I very respectfully informed MIKE hours before my next shift that it just wasnt going to fit and that I would just like to know when I can collect pay for the shift I worked. Here comes more fun. He then decides that the shift was a tryout that i wouldnt be paid for the 8.5 hours i worked for there company. Now I move on to HR only to deal with Rebecca. Boy aint she a peach. I asked before disclosing, how long a tryout shift is. She replied 5 hours. Then I tell her I worked 8.5 and that I wasnt informed that it was a tryout. Needless to say, attitudes and emotions were involved, and she decides to tell me oh if you didnt get upset and speak rudely I would have paid you in the phonecall AFTER she already told me i wouldnt be paid. Do yourself a favor. Stay the hell away from this place.
Racist! Only friend that was denied entry was my black buddy for his mid top Jordans, that were clearly not aggressive in anyway. You mean to tell me a major athletic University next to this bar is denying people access due to athletic shoes. That is ludicrous and just another way they can segregate a specific culture out of their institution.
Great spot to hang outdoors but the bathroom was covered in urine and nothing worked in there. Felt like i was having a beer in at a landfill.
We have been there 4 Sunday evenings, great live music, fun place but 3/15 after spending three hours and $35 the band quit and we decided to head home and the security guy gave my wife and I hell about using the restrooms and accused us of walking in off the street to use them stating these are not public restrooms, we asked to see a manager and he stated he was a manager, the place is small and he did not see us dancing and having fun, everyone else did, these people need to go back to flipping burgers and save the management jobs for people that are qualified, your only as good as your front line people. Owners we learn this lesson early on in business 101 take note
Horrible hospitality. I was kicked out for having a face tattoo (which is a peace sign, heart, and yin yang symbol) after being let in by security and served by bartender. I spent over $20 and was kicked out after 30 minutes of being there. When I tried to cover it with a bandaid they said I couldn’t enter because they already know I have a face tatt..... does that not solve any problems that could come from the face tatt? If this isn’t discrimination based on skin idk what is. I felt completely profiled and robbed of my money.
Let wouldnt let me in because I wore flip flops, except they let two other of my friends in...with flip flops. Stupid dress codes policies. Security people with too much entitlement. Better places to go on Mill
Their bouncers are rude and steal confiscated items from customers. Also, management is a joke when it comes to rectifying the situation. Youre better off patronizing any other place, like really, ANY OTHER PLACE.
Apparently this establishment doesn’t allow “high top sneakers” aka people of a “certain background”. I don’t know what to say. I am speachless that a bar would allow my boyfriend who wears a baseball cap, sweats, and flip flops into their establishment; however, a friend dressed in dress jeans, collared shirt, and “high tops” is turned away. What a disgrace. How embarrassing!
The atmosphere of the outside is a bit much but the lounge is awesome and much more quiet. They have delicious vegan burritos. Definitely coming back!
Great place to hangout and in the night it gets very packed specially around the weekend. Staff is not friendly, I guess because there so many people. May need to clean up more often, there were few times where it smelled bad.
SOOOO GOOOOD!!! Carne Asada Fries. I’m drooling in fond memory. Of 3 minutes ago. When I just finished them. I’m already dreaming of my next trip here. Our server was good to us. My only critique is that I wish their utensils and cups werent all single-use plastics (from a viewpoint of environmentalism & considering the potential for littering).
The food was good, the service bad and slow. Took 30+ minutes for a burrito on a Sunday afternoon. Also was over charged on my bill twice.. Everyone seemed to be standing around instead of working. Thought the food was pricey for what you got.
I give one star because of the Music is great and for those who serve drinks and stuff reallyDo good job - I guess it is what keep this house very popular !My wife got her iPhone stolen at the dance area and we quickly realized. We spoke with the all security team but it was pointless... they took no action of announcing throw the microphone. So we decided to wait until the end of the party faithfully that some good soul would return it to the bar so we could find it , but it didn’t happen. What we sadly saw was some securities flirting with ladies during the night. I was questioning myself if they Casa sunba really care for their costumers. A feeling of insecurity hit us badly. So if you want to go to Casa Sunba just be carful who is next to you and a friendly reminder the security won’t help you.
Had a fun night there and lost my ID. Came back in distress and a bartender (Jacob I think) had it! Good drinks and okay music!
College students getting scammed over drinks. Bar tenders using more mixers than actual alcohol in the larger buckets. Staff are rude and obnoxious.
Great night life spot! Drinks were great and the music was even better. Id definitely recommend if you are visiting and looking for something to do at night. Service was great!
The waitress is really bad, after i tipped them 10%, they come to my table to ask me to tip more, theyre not even serve anything, they just brought the drinks to the table. Bad services ever. I came here almost 2 years, never meet any waitress like this before.
Cool spot. Gaby my bartender last night is amaizing. Her customer service is spot on and she does it with a smile. Tasha was also awesome !!
My friends and I were at this place and the security guy Khayree and Adrian was very understanding. They have great service and would definitely come back because of them. These guys are great!
I had a blast having drinks with some of the A.S.U. students!!!! The place was laid out a tad weird!!! My server Holy was a COMPLETE AIR-HEAD!!! !!! The students were very respectful t-words me!!!
The staff is the worst. They are rude and don’t deserve your business. If you want a fun and safe place to enjoy your time on mill ave this is not the place. I will NEVER go back. I promise you, you will love other places more.
Happy hour buckets are $7.50, good music and fun environment!
Absolutely terrible experience. I didnt have a phone, wallet, or purse with my in the bathroom and I was checked on 3 times in 3 minutes. This place is a joke they have more security guards than customers for a reason.
A favorite amongst local ASU students! I always visit CASA when I am on mill with my buddies! If you like patio bars with a club inside I highly suggest it.
Didn’t let my significant other in because he was wearing “high top athletic shoes” I really don’t understand how shoes stop you from going in somewhere? Please explain if I’m wrong, but it shouldn’t matter right?
I want to like this place but they keep playing very disturbing videos on their TVs. Its like Freddie Kruger and Jason Voorhees randomly all night lmao Im not even kidding. I can only describe it as demonic porn. Literally its demons from horror movies and then a naked guy comes on the screen. This was last night over and over playing these bizzare, honestly revolting videos. Its illegal, we have decency and obsenity laws in the US, but more than that its just freaking weird.
Can’t hear a damn thing when I walk by this place. On the plus side, they seem to hire good-looking front of house folks. It’s just too loud and riotous to capture my interest.
Nice outside AZ style bar with mist system, many beers on tap. Try the green Chile mac & cheese burrito.....best after a night of partying on Mill Ave.
I wish there were negative stars, Im being generous with 1 star. All I can say is the staff there need to get their stuff together before they put the place out of business . Its obvious from all the other 1 star reviews this place needs to be closed down.
We were ripped off on our bill and the bouncers are shockingly rude. With so many bars on Mill Ave., this place is definitely worth avoiding.
Kinda crowded at times, and can sometimes be host to ASUs more douchy crowd. Which results in loud altercations, fights, etc. Not exactly what I had in mind when I left the house.
Overpriced. Security is a joke.
Horrible place to have a beverage was told that they could accommodate hot water and was also told I couldnt sit at the the bar being over 21 to drink my beverage The manager D has horrible customer service and I dont recommend the place at all I suggest better customer service or get a new manager.
Went here for a brief moment while strolling Mill Avenue. Nice view from the rooftop, and the dance floor is nice on the lower level. Would visit again..
Its outside so its a great place to hang out and have a drink during the cooler months later. The food is decent but the Burritos are slightly dry
Showed up at this slow bar on Monday night (labor day) 5 of us ready to spend money. Told us we were to drunk to come in lmao...it was our second stop. We only wish we were drunk...lol. turned down!
Unfortunately Jordan’s are not allowed in this establishment on a Friday/Saturday late night. However they have great specials on draft, that’s the only upside I see.
Ive never actually been on the premises of this place. But I dont need to. The owners of CASA Sunba grant that experience to everybody in downtown Tempe, whether they want it or not. If youre anywhere on Mill ave -- or near it -- get excited to have your ears assaulted with the mundane and linear club music that they blast from their outdoor patio ad nauseum. Woohoo!
They let too many people in, can’t even move on the dancefloor
My friends and I always come here for day drinking. Food is good and so are the drinks! Great music and the environment is pleasing
Geared towards the younger (21-30)crowd. If you dont know someone who has an in, theres normally a long line, but its worth the wait.
Beers were cheap, not sure if I was at happy hour. But it was afternoon. They said night time they open the inside.
Good vibe on weekends.
Charged us 40 dollars for redbull and a cranberry juice. BEWARE they scam their customers.
Vegan Food is amazing. However they never answer the phone to place Togo orders and do not have any options to order online or through any delivery services.
Place was nice and drinks were pretty good. However, the music they play here is god awful and ruins the entire experience.
What a garbage place. Walked up on a Sunday at 3pm. there was a live DJ, and drunk people with squirt guns squirting passers by. Obviously an establishment for college douche bags. One of them also squirted my phone.
Horrible customer service, waitress rolled her eyes when asking about vegan options. Food was horrible and bland no flavor. Never going back again. Do not recommend it. Do not spend your money here !
Imagine try to use the restroom and rude girl says you can’t use it cuz I wasn’t a paying customer I was rigth next door on slice on mill she said in RACIST way …..
Cool atmosphere, friendly staff, bad food. Salsa is not good. Green chili tacos were not good. They are expanding and revamping menu, hopefully they improve the food drastically.
Security is very touchy and inappropriate with female customers. The employees at CASA are extremely rude and unprofessional. The food is very bland and overpriced. Ill never go back again. Save your time and money, never come here.
Very bad customer service. The bouncer that worked the evening of Tues. Nov. 6 was very unfriendly and on some kind power trip. Not a good representative of the place.
Casa discriminated based on race or wealth determination based on who they allow in . If you are going to ban people from eating there please post a clear guidelines of who you will and will not service
The staff is terrible especially the bouncers. They gave me a hard time about my ID and tried to tell me it wasnt me in the picture when it clearly was. They also treated the entire group I was with terribly and insulted them.
I thought this place was alright but its clear that some of the staff here are either racist or just biased and will let in who they deem fit and turn away whoever they want for no explanation other than they can. Unfortunately no one I get to speak to will go here and I hope anyone that reads this wont either, C.A.S.A. needs to hire new staff before I ever return
Bouncers are absolutely insane
Charging full price for any mixed drinks with ZERO alcohol, order sealed drinks or avoid in general.
Bouncer almost didnt let me in just to get some incredible tacos from bar because of my shoes I explained the circumstances and he was able to get it handled!
DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE The chicken tacos gave me family diarrhea, this place should be closed down for good. DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE YOU WILL GET SICK. YOUVE BEEN WARNED
Great place to get a table. Ladies, bottles, music, and much more. This place wont let you down I promise. Also try the buckets
No Timberlands...They didn’t let us in because of shoes. While there were people in flip flops and gym shoes...
Great place for a bloody mary and burrito. Outside dining is great my only issue is the music is a little loud for. Great service here.
Cannot go wrong with a bucket on ASU game days. Best music, vibes, and drinks all day and night!
Small outdoor dive bar located between 2 parking garages, good place to meet others and discover downtown from there.
Just met friends for a few drinks, hung outside, decent music, good atmosphere and service with moderate drink prices.
The best place to go for a friday or a saturday night. The service is good, music and the dj are awesome and its a lit place full of youth and fun
They had me at $5.00 bucket drinks...but their mac & cheese burrito is absolutely delicious
Really loved the bucket cocktails! Service was good, but tables were kinda cramped for a group our size
Always love casa. Wish they would tell you price of drinks before they take your money though
A little bit pricey for a bucket ($12) on days their not on special but great place. Fun to people watch.
The Drinks are pretty good and reasonably priced the burritos are hella bomb and of course it gets lit when the sun comes down!
Sad day when those already down and homeless are inhumanly Kicked out even though they have money to pay. I will never again support this discriminating business!
The bouncers are rude wont allow you in for ridiculous reasons. The dress code makes no sense.
Honestly they dont even deserve the one star. Service was terrible, manager was a joke and the customer is their LAST priority. i strongly advise EVERYONE to stay away from this place.
Has this place been open long? Because they told me it was 20 dollars cash at the door on a Monday to get in. But no one was there and they would only take cash. I was not impressed.
Good margs and good prices on Tuesdays during the day. Worth it if you’re up here when it’s not busy during the semester!
Love it here and the buckets! Great music and very spacious! Plus the balcony is dope
Stop profiling people of color. The bouncer was obviously looking at my skin color instead of my shoes when I was denied entry. SICKENING and Racist!
Always packed on the weekend! Definitely my spot to start off my bar hopping night in tempe!
If i could give this bar 0 stars. to turn business away because the guest is wearing timberland shoes is rediculous.
Witnessed the bartender sip a beer and then serve it. Also drinks took 20 min and they have girls looking like they are 14 serving. Gross all around.
Great outdoor bar that you can smoke at. Bucket drinks are a great deal with friendly staff.
A perfect example of an Arizona bar. Outdoors, good drinks, good food, good staff. A truly special place.
Fun atmosphere with great Dj! Drinks were good but they ran out of buckets.
Great night scene for adults! Good drinks and music. Outdoor bar and rooftop bar!
CASA is complete trash every single aspect of the place is trash. Wouldnt recommend to anybody. Better off jumping off a cliff in sedona
Waited at our table for 15 minutes(after being told to seat ourselves) and never got acknowledged. Left without eating or drinking anything.
The barracks think they are the law the bouncers think they are cops this place is trash
Popular spot for ASU students and late night drinks on Mill Ave. There is a line and cover charge on weekends.
Great drink specials and amazing food. Try put the mac and chili burrito, you wont reget it!
A good place to socialize and meet people. Lots of intoxicated folks but a nice place to visit music is nice
Had a blast dancing. If u like big crowds & great pictures of margaritas
If you like to party hard. its just college bar life at this place nothing different.
On my birthday, on vacation... Get told I cant get in because I was wearing jordans. Wow real dick move by the bouncer.
Cool hole in the wall out door beer garden plus upstairs patio. Great music and people watching
Young vibe, mist to keep cool. Good music. Good drinks. 10/10 would chill again
Love this place for cheap eats and great scenery! Beer and a carne asada burrito, perfect lunch!
Nice vibe. Good beer selection and great service. Kaitlin was very nice
Bathrooms are filthy, shots are small, outside bar has a very bad smell.
Fun place. Great food good live music when they play on patio.
Very ambient atmosphere with a colorful vibe and friendly staff. Great place to visit.
The crowd is a little young for me but it was a good time. Coyote Ugly type of environment.
Fun place, drinks are good. Great for happy hours.
Great service, awesome selection and a perfect place to have an outdoor Mill St. venue experience!
Good music, fun atmosphere, but over priced drinks(:
Not a bad place to hang out with friends and have some drinks.
Good for deals and has a good crowd. DJs are a bit on the lower end though.
Cant even make a burrito on Wednesdays because its Taco Wednesday?? Definitely not coming back on a Wednesday 😒
Overpriced drinks ($5 for draft in a warm plastic cup), poor service from bartender. Decent food.
Cheap margaritas, cheap girls, vegan carne asada. Not much to write home about but nothing to complain about either.
Always packed but great college atmosphere for the young crowd
