Bobby Mackeys

On spring break and in town, decided to swing by the infamous Bobby Mackeys! The new location is in a different town maybe 20 minutes away from the original location on Licking Pike road in Wilder KY. As an avid Ghost Adventures fan, I was compelled to see the infamous and haunted location before its demolished. Feel sad that such a historic and popular building is being torn down. Didnt go inside the new location as it was closed.

Did a paranormal tour at night here. We loved all the history! Our tour guide was amazing and made us feel like we had been friends for years. Very much enjoyed our night with her! Wonderful time!

Definitely a cool little spot if your interested in honkey tonk music, playing a round of pool, enjoying a drink or into paranormal investigating. Very nostalgic to visit. Good gift shop inside as well.

Me and a few friends came here to take the ghost tour. We had to wait a while for the next one to start which was not a problem. The only downside was having to pay to get into the bar and pay again for the ghost tour unfortunately paying the $10 for the ghost tour does not allow you access into the bar to buy drinks. The ghost tour well fun can be triggering for those with asthma or allergies the mildew/mold smell is very pungent. Overall we had a frightening time which is what we set out for.

My wife and I did one of the Sunday ghost tours on 8/27/18. Had a blast learning about this site. This place is FULL of activity and we caught several orbs as well as felt several weird vibes. We will return soon! Also special thanks again to our guide from Gatekeeper Paranormal, Angie.

Had a wonderful time ! Was going through that area had decided to stop in since I’ve heard about this bar on a couple shows . I must say any spooky stuff that may take place , doesn’t keep the crowd away or the awesome people! Also this was about a year ago .

Great Historic bar and hangout! Known for its paranormal activity and haunted spirits as it has been featured several times on Zach Bagans Ghost Adventures tv show. My husband and I went to just hear some great live music and to relax. Nothing fancy but remember they only take cash. They have a mechanical bull to ride if you dare! I was not only fortunate enough to meet Bobby Mackey, but he even dedicated and sang a song to me that night! Great friendly people!

Went for a Paranormal Investigation, this place is infamous! Had a great time, vibes were surprisingly good with the except of the basement for part of the night. The tour was great as well. Still saged afterwards to be safe knowing the history. It is a short investigation but I still feel like we accomplished a lot.

Definitely haunted in the basement I’ve been their twice and both my experiences were around or after 11:30 pm I don’t know what kind of spirit is down their, words can’t explain it, almost a nostalgic feeling. I think it’s like nick groff said on paranormal lockdown I do think it’s something that’s been their before the building was even their. Definitely recommend going, if your into the paranormal.The attic was the second most creepy part of the building, however the first time I went, the tour guide said they got rid of it, could of been cause their was two other people. But the second tour guide was so much more chill she kinda just let me explore the whole building she just waited in her car and I was the only one in the building definitely the scariest thing I ever had happen to me in my life. You go down in the basement use evp start asking questions and have nobody in the building you will start to have some unexplained activity guaranteed. This is the place that converted me into a true believer

Worst place to go and have fun. They have a clean guy who thinks he’s a bouncer and wants to cater his friends and stand around you, and act like he runs the place. This is my second time there and won’t comeback. 0 on review.

Although we couldnt get in ...it was closed its pretty creepy even during the day 😅👀

Finally got to cross this amazing place off my bucket list! Strange also most spooky drive to the bar but totally worth it. It was rather cold inside but again i was so pumped to be there i didnt much mind it.

We have been to Bobby Mackeys Music World in Wilder, Kentucky twice and both times it was to investigate the paranormal. If you are into the paranormal you have to go at least once to see the infamous portal to hell. There is always something happening at that place. We caught some great evidence on the SLS camera this last visit! Cant wait to go back.

Just heard about this place on Crime Junkie Pod...I will have to check it out, seems like a pretty interesting and spooky place!

It might be a good thing this place is haunted to keep the property values down and his taxes down I would let the spirits haunt this place all they want if it would mean cheaper tax bills in the future. I see some spirit Orbs in the pictures and if you look closely you can see weird faces.

No food but drink prices were reasonable. I went when there was a concert so they had a cover. I am not sure if this is a common practice.

I mean its your old, dark, music lounge vibe bar but ya gotta love it! Super cool history as most people know the basics of its haunted but there is so much more. Did a tour with Mark and he was the absolute best!! Love how they have saved as much of the history as they can. Bar staff was nice and cracked some jokes!

Just visited with my family because of Ghost Adventures! We were outside because they werent open yet. Loved visiting!

Was a awesome experience. Everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was fun and layed back. Will definitely go again!!

We did the 2 hour paranormal tour last night with Alex. We had a great time! Alex was very knowledgeable and friendly. He took time to explain each area and answer questions. If he knew something was just a normal sound like water dripping he made sure to point it out. He brought his spirit box and EMF detector to investigate. He suggested taking pictures in a series of 3 to be able to compare which was a great suggestion! We did get some activity but didn’t feel threatened but it should definitely be known that it can be threatening and individuals have been affected.

Went on the ghost tour. Our tour guide informed us that hardly any of stories about Pearl & her head being thrown in the portal to hell was false. The place used to be a distillery, during the time she was killed. People were working there all the time, so no one couldve gotten away with it. The place is a dump, no reason why Bobby Mackey cant hire a cleaner. The ceiling is caving in, walls are tumbling down. Its a cash only business & he has to be paying the inspectors off. A lot of the place smelled like pee too. Didnt see anything scary or anything like that.

Finally got to go to Bobby Mackeys after wanting to for almost 20 years,! And Ill tell you what I did not expect to have such an amazing time! Its big, its airy, its fun!! The people are amazing-staff and customers both! I didnt expect the comfortability and the diversity! Im a city girl- I like r&b & funkadelic ! Huge surprise!! WOW SOOO much fun! I had a friend say he likes to try different things- and this is different! They do karaoke for a little while then Bobby Mackey performed and then they had the dancing. The people there so friendly and they tried to teach us dance moves and drinks were cheap! And they have a BULL just like in Urban Cowboy! I had visions of me as a young Deborah winger! And Bobby Mackey is so real and down to earth! It was closing and I mentioned to a bartender you know what a good time we had and how we would be back but Bobby Mackey was the reason I came!! So she walked me down and formally introduced me to him! He talked to us like we were neighbors or family and took pictures! Everybody needs to experience Bobby Mackeys!! The girls are beautiful & the cowboys made me blush! I havent been excited to go back to a spot since I cant tell you when!!! Putting it out there everybody Bobby Mackeys on the weekends- if you see me mention my Google and Ill buy you a drink!! THANK YOU STAFF and Mr. Mackey!! Dont forget to tip the bartenders!!!

Finally was able to get into a Ghost Hunt at the World Famous Bobby Mackey’s! Went on the tour with probably 12 others, but Bobby’s did not disappoint. Had some great activity, caught it on video and had relevant intelligent responses through the Ovilus. Met a great family and we are still sharing our findings with each other as we review our footage.I cannot wait until time and money allow for a private tour!Thank you Bobby Mackey’s I had a blast!

I attended a Halloween ghost hunt which was to end at 2am. I was unable to catch anything until the last hour I was there. I talked to a little girl spirit using dowsing rods for about half an hour but the best evidence was pictures in the basement on my FLIR. I got a couple of pictures of a creature, then caught some more human looking faces in a couple of other pictures. Bobby sang Johanna for us which made the evening! What a great and fun place! Round of drinks for 4 people $17! If you are within an hour make sure you stop by, ride the bull, enjoy great country music and of course the ghost tour has to be done.On top of being a great venue the owner and management goes above and beyond for customer service. We were in town for a Chiefs game and left our phone on a busy Saturday night. After one single email RJ went to a closed bar found a phone and sent me a picture. Fortunately it was not my phone as it was cracked. He kept looking found another phone which was not mine either. Third try was my phone which RJ shipped back to me in Phoenix! Even the emergency $20 was still in the case.What a team and what a great business to support.

This is a real deal, hopping, honky-tonk.I was able to park the rig near by at a location not generally open to truck parking/ Im special. I visited on a Saturday evening since it was 8 miles from my receiver for Monday.They are indeed only open Friday and Saturday nights and it packs out; great business model/ open for about 14 hrs a week and making some serious cheddar. No food is served though but thats ok . The people working there are friendly. Miss Chelsia, bar tending at the South end of the bar, is just plain delightful.Country On!

Loved the atmosphere. Everyone was just there to have a good time. Enjoyed watching people try and conquer the mechanical bull. Also did a quick ghost tour. Had a great time.

Great experience and service. The reason for not getting 5 stars is that theres no food available and the fact of desperately needing a up grade the place and its parking lot

Been here a few times, and everytime the atmosphere is awesome. Ghost tour is kool and Bobbys voice is always on point.

This is the most prejudice place Ive ever been to. They stopped servicing us because a member of our group has dark skin. They said they dont serve black people.

Bobby Mackey and his ambassador, Bobby Hays, are true gentlemen. It was a great night and experience. Bobby Mackeys passion for good old country music is evident and the staff were friendly. After 15 years of wanting to visit, me and my wife finally made the dream a reality. We will be back! Johanna is truly a great song and my favorite of Mackeys but he sings Merle pretty good too!

Bobby Mackeys is a very laid back and fun country bar/nightclub with an interesting history attached to it. I come here when I want to relax, drink, dance a little, and just be myself, and this place allows me to do that, and I feel very at home here. I work hard all week so I can come here by weeks end and dance in my cowgirl boots and forget about all my troubles for a night. This place has me coming back for more every week, and I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a low-key place to enjoy good country music, dancing, and a drink at the bar with friends. Theres also a mechanical bull, pool tables, and a ghost tour if youre curious

Finally got the chance to come to this awesome place. Even got to meet the legendary Bobby Mackey himself. And had a great conversation as well. Afterwards went on an amazing ghost tour and let’s just say this, this place truly lives up to its name as the most haunted bar in the U.S.A. Great time and great experience thank you Bobby mackeys establishment and Bobby Mackey personally for such an amazing time.

Mackeys is a great place to visit. Has a lot of history and is said to be haunted! Great music and atmosphere. There is a bull to ride and pool tables. Friendly staff. Last I was there, there was a cover charge at the door, so bring cash! If you like country music definitely stop by Mackeys!

Amazing owner and the bar it’s self is very welcoming to anyone that comes in. Has haunted ghost tours sometimes for $5 I believe..just google the club name and a plethora of cool info and background on the haunted club and extremely talented owner Bobby Mackey will pop right up!

Love this place!!! Great music, drinks are reasonable, then there is that haunted thing. Although my husband doesnt believe me, I WAS tapped on the shoulder and when I turned around no one was there.

It angers me to no end that people still lie about the occurrences here for attention. Pearl Bryan has no connection to this place- stop using a dead woman’s name to get you recognition. it’s sick. there’s no evidence backing any of the stories about this place.

The music was awesome and would earn 5 stars. However, they should have turned on the heat about 4 hours earlier. Absolutely froze the whole time we were there.

Come for the ghosts and stay for the music! Making country music great again since 1978. Never been here and not HAD a great time. Lots of great music, history and just a fun atmosphere!

This place has been on my bucket list since my first ever episode of Ghost Adventures…the tour was well worth it to me I caught a few things worth looking at I circled 2 pictures… if I lived a little closer I’d do a tour every weekend to see if I could catch more stuff Bobby Mackeys does not disappoint and show some love for my guy Mark who is the Tour Guide who explains everything in detail….this first picture I circled was an actual photo taken from my phone not a portrait theme from my iPhone but an actual photo… there wasn’t anyone behind us for this picture but u notice a woman walking and u can see thru the top half of the woman she looks like a blur but nothing else in the photo is blurred behind us and if it were a portrait photo u would notice my wife’s arm closer to the woman’s waste to blur also but it doesnt….you can see a picture thru her and a red light….the second one I circled was a reddish bull skull in the jail cell….

I had a blast at Bobby Mackeys. It was everything I had hoped it would be. Being the only the only couple there for a ghost tour I felt like we really got a feel for the local flavor that Bobby Mackey strives for. We ended up staying after the tour to listen to Bobby perform and watch people ride the mechanical bull.

Was awesome. Met Bobby lastnight. Great music fun tour. Highly recomemd

Love Mackeys!!! Good ol honky tonk, only thing is, its hard to dance if you dont know their versions of line dances.

The dances were easier to learn here than other places and the atmosphere is very authentic.

I havent been there yet but love to explore and all, also heard all kinds of stories behind it, very interesting. I give you 5 Stars. I saw on YouTube, some Youtubers go there too. Take care! 😊

Called and asked about tour and they said everything was fine then drove an hour and a half and they said the guide didnt show up

$7 cover charge, cash only, kinda dumpy, but Bobby Mackey performs live. Mechanical bull is cool. One pool table didn’t work.

I have heard about bobby mackeys music world. the most haunted place in America. I saw ghost adventures investigation episodes on YouTube. My wish is this that I should come there and I should feel experience.

That place seems to be haunted, but whether it still been used or not. The ghost adventures crews had been investigate 3 times from 2008 to 2010. See how it does..

Just found out I can drive here from where Im at. Ive visited Winchester mystery mansion,Tombstone, Deadwood Dodgecity, both Goldfields,etc on ghost towns out west. Now this place I wanna check out.

Me and an old buddy Jim Cornette went here, I ordered a Miller lite and got head by a ghost in the bathroom stall

Cool dive bar. Took the ghost tour, didnt experience much but was still a thrill to visit a legendary site.

All these negative reviews are ridiculous, we drove 3 hours to this place and the place is amazing, fun atmosphere, staff was amazing and very helpful, we didnt do the tours, we are next time, but even without them, my wife and I had a blast, we will be back very very soon!

No cover before 10pm friday. Urinal is a horse trough. Parking lot is a sloped gravel hill. Needs some investment to cleanup.

Went after I saw what Nick Groff, Zak Bagans, and Aaron Goodwin went through. Definately a very ominous feeling surronding the building.

It was a thrill to get a chance to go to this place even if I wasnt able to go inside.

Loved this place when we first got there. Bobby Mackey and his band were great! Then for the last 30 minutes they did karaoke. The “dj”doing the karaoke was a complete douche. Hopefully when they get back to their original location everything will be better.

Bobby McKay is a singer who sang the most famous song Johanna,Johanna. He created this discotheque before it was a slaughterhouse where a murder was committed: a woman was killed by her husband who was a criminal, there was also Johanna she worked there before she committed suicide because her father killed her love at that time she was pregnant then she killed her father and then she committed suicide by writing a love poem and it is said that this building is haunted.... Its up to you to find out....
