Club 1220

I love 1220! I always have the most amazing time at all the events they hold. The owner is so wonderful, kind, and so so funny I couldn’t recommend 1220 enough. As someone in the lgbtq+ community I always feel so accepted and welcomed here. Having this space so local to me has really been so wonderful.

This is not a queer welcoming bar. It is basically a mixed bar that caters to straight people who want to be entertained by drag queens they laugh at and not with. Bridezillas have taken over the place pushing the queer patrons into the corners. If you are looking for a truly queer bar with a sense of community spend the extra 20 minutes driving on the 24 to the Whitehorsebar in Oakland........

Went to 1220 for the first time in a long time last night which was a Friday around midnight and let me tell you DJ Ellis sure knows how to clear a dance floor!! He played an awful selection of music and his transitions from song to song was rough, people would literally stop dancing because we had to wait for the next song to play and he refused to take any music requests that my party knew would get people back on the dance floor. The floor was really sticky even the dance floor. The security guard was rude and just looked like he was in a bad mood. The host in the front was more into his poker game on his phone then interacting with us when we walked in, he wasn’t very inviting but he didn’t mind taking our money, $8 cover charge was not worth it. This used to be my favorite place and now it’s my least favorite, I’ll never go back!!

Love it here. The new owner has atmosphere in such an amazing way every night of the week.

Try to support but the music seems like not getting better after a while. If you not good at decorations try to have a good taste. Bad taste on a Saturday night! 👎🏻Ps: DJ don’t really care if there are people on the floor dacing or not. Lady dj you might need an upgrade and learn how to connect between songs✌🏻Maybe try to make more connections with the dance floor 🎤

Im sure it is probably good on a busy night or a cool drag show/dj etc but going there on a slow night it was a little sleepy and the staff wasnt the friendliest or most attentive ☹️Maybe will try again a different night and see but so far its probably a no from me sadly.

Absolutely great experience every time I go to this bar!!! Such an inviting and friendly atmosphere. The music is always fun and the DJs do a great job on theme nights jerking the energy going. I love going to the Drag shows the most!! All the performers are hilarious that I’ve seen so far. I’m so happy there is such a great place for queer people to gather in Walnut Creek.

If you aren’t going to drag bingo, you NEED to start. My cheeks hurt the next day from smiling and laughing. It was a phenomenal experience with amazing performances. And it’s so clear that the owner/staff love the bar and the community.

Ive never felt safer and more at home at a bar before. First of all, the dancing and the fruity beverages? Incredible. The atmosphere? Comfy and fun. The music choices change up every night and are always good. The bartenders are so nice and excellent at what they do. If anyone gets too drunk they will walk with you and be a crutch for your drunk friend. The best part for me? Even when I decided to get sober, I can still come back and feel welcome. They have drinks for everyone, and they wont judge you or let people judge you for not wanting to drink alcohol. Its such a home vibe. I love this place and if you hadnt checked it out yet I would strongly recommend it. The dance nights are super fun and the drag nights are a blast.

This bar LIVES LIFE & so do it’s patrons!They have great delicious drinks!They serve wondrous shows of various types alongside serving up some good ol’ hospitality!I wish all bars were as welcoming as this one !Thank you for showing me some warmVibes !

Super cute venue. We went to go watch an amateur drag show night and the drinks were good as well. The host was super gracious and extremely funny. Support local drag!

There isnt enough space for me to say why I love this bar. The atmosphere, the staff, and the patrons make a perfect storm of amazing! Ive been coming here for 10+ years and have always been welcomed in as family! Its only gotten better since I started working karaoke here on Wednesdays! If you want a good, strong drink and fabulous people, this is your place!

You can order sushi from next door & have them deliver it to you at this bar, awesome right??!There is always a lot of dancing and drinks are good. Never bad service. They some times host shows or events which is nice.Only down side is parking is crammed but free.

Drag shows are okay From SF and recommend going there. 💯$5 entry every time. Lgbt+. DJ butchers classic Club/EDM / Trap. Not sorry

I was here on a Thursday night. Friendly gay & straight mixed crowd. Good music and a jukebox so you can play your favorite tunes. Locals are friendly saying hello and striking up conversation. The lighting was perfect not to dim or bright creating a warm cozy atmosphere.Kawe my bartender for the evening was friendly and attentive. Always flashing a smile along with quick service and great drinks Kawe made me feel welcomed, and at home. If I am ever back in town, I definitely want to come back and hang out.

I went recently with a large group for the drag show to celebrate a friends birthday. Such a cute club with a nice vibe and reasonably priced drinks. Very fun!

$10 cover at 1:10am when they close at 2am in the middle of nowhere when I was about to stop for a drink. No thanks.

Please change the bartender. Rude and making terrible cocktails.

Tonight was my first time here ❤️ The performance was wonderful and host was, not only hilarious, but Sexy! I’m not very outgoing but I can honestly say I felt very welcomed here at Club 1220. Thanks so much!

While the front door greeter cashiers are always friendly, the bar staff is inconsistently attentive, friendly or quick. I feel that most times I’ve been (6 visits now Fri/Sat), it’s never busy enough to warrant short attitude from the bar. Drinks are just ok and fairly priced. My biggest rub is the DJ isn’t consistent Fri/Sat in reading the audience: it seems to shift from 80’s to 90’s to hip-hop to edm in the same night without a why or storytelling. My instinct is when u see people on the floor, continue to keep them there with similar music, not just a random hard turn. My biggest peeve is their events promoted are NOT consistent with what is actually happening - false advertising - invited all my friend and co-workers to a Latin Night and they were not doing anything - even music - that was Latin themed. Bummer!

The best bar in NorCal!! I first came to club 1220 in 2016 while on a travel nurse job and it instantly became not only a safe haven but a home for me as a transplant in California. Holotta most of all was always welcoming to me and she really cares about the LGBTQ+ community, especially the local community. Do yourself a favor and visit club 1220 and show the bar the love it will show you.

Great place. Awesome bartender and strong drinks. As a newbie to the area I’m glad to have a friendly bar nearby. I can easily see myself become a regular here.

I want to say a big thank you to Holotta ,Mariko and Tyler for totally making my boyfriend and I feel so comfortable coming into club 1220. They are so personable and so welcoming . Thanks you guys for a good time and all the good music we love to dance!

One if my most favorite places to be. Fantastic drinks, phenomenal drag shows, a truly lovely atmosphere, and the owners are wonderful humans.

04/17/2022 the DJ sux. He has no idea what beat to stay on! UPDATE it is now 1:06am and now he sux even more. He had NO idea what a DJ job is! He is the worst DJ EVER! ONLY MY OPINION!

The gay guys there have their own little clique, and Goodluck because they are not nice to newcomers anywhere else is better. And everytime I spend money at this place my fun times are ruined 100% of the time. I have not gone home happy ever. 4th chance is the last straw

I didnt know where to take my man. So i called this number she let me know they was closing very polite and suggested others areas in a tuesday.... The lady on the phone was so nice... Her polite manner would definitely have me come on a night b4 they close

Not good place to go.. Place itself doesnot give good vibes... They should write in bold that place is for gays so that everyone can know before going in...

The bartender /door guy Brandon is the worst idk how he got a job anywhere he is disrespectful and body shamed my friend because he thinks so highly of himself we are big advocates of the gay community and we now feel unwelcomed to a place we use to love he is classless and hurtful his comments were tasteless and the bar we once loved is now somewhere we no longer can enjoy

Its a fun place with nice decor and strong drinks. Its not what it was a few years ago, but its still a good place to hangout with friends.

This place is totally awesome The bouncers here are polite and much nicer and high class then Vinnies in Concord.
