Well, service was absolutely awful. So bad in fact I refused to leave a tip. Writing specifically Hell No on the tip line. But dont worry folks, this place still took care of its awful wait staff, by adding a tip to my bill that I didnt approve. Needless to say, I disputed it and got my $ back. But, I personally wouldnt go to a restaurant that so willingly commits fraud, forgery and theft.Up to you.... Pay in cash for your own safety.
Very good food! Been here before when traveling, and will be back! The only reason I only gave it 4 stars is b/c we had Mexican food last night somewhere else, and its salsa was SO good. Hard to give this one 5 stars after that. But really no complaints at Los Toltecos.
It would have been better if they had gotten my order right. But they corrected it fairly quickly. I wanted a booth, and they had plenty open along with regular tables but the elderly Hispanic hostess made me sit at the bar because I was alone. It was almost closing time and the restaurant was emptying out so theres no reason I couldnt sit at a booth. Im not a drinker or a bar person. They charged me for a take out drink I never got. Ill have to go back to town the next day they are open to get it... Or a refund. They waitress was nice and helpful other than not getting my takeout soda.I think the meal was expensive especially considering the mistake they made on my order.
Server is all over the place rushing around he took forever to come ask us what we wanted to eat and he’s very strange but other then that food is pretty good table wasn’t the cleanest if I had to rate everything it would be like a 3 and a half
Delicious. Staying in the area for evening and wanted a meal before heading to hotel. Came across this place and Wow. Every thing was great from the second we entered the door. The service was top notch. All the employees and management work as a team. The Margarita was delicious and worthy of a second. The meal was delicious and the presentation also very nice. Can’t wait to drive through that area again while traveling (sorry had already started eating and drinking ) 😁
There was an event scheduled here around dinner time and there seemed to only be 4 people working. Took 10 min to get a beer standing at the bar. Ordering food from the manager worked out well but getting drinks or service was slow. Wouldn’t go back. Food was ok but not great. Could tell there haven’t been large crowds there in a long time.
Food was amazing; got the arroz con pollo, and it was very good. Portion size is normal; no complaints about that. We were among the only customers, but service was still fast, and the atmosphere with the music is nice.
Small portions. Food tastes average. Wait staff not friendly at all. Way overpriced. Be aware of the fine print on the menus...you will be charged an extra $3 if you ask for additional salsa and chips. Much better Mexican restaurants elsewhere in the Northern Virginia area.
My food took an entire hour to come out (carne asada and chorizo bean dip) They brought a small bowl of the thinnest dip (didn’t even stick to the chip). I questioned it and they told me that little bit of dip was $9. The carne asada has always come with a spoon full of sour cream, they told me it didn’t. I requested it and they brought it and said they would just give it to me for free. This place has gone down hill.
I give the food 5* it was excellent. Salsa a bit spicy but the chips crispy. Try the special platter which has a taco, tostada, burrito, enchilada, chile relleno, tamale, and rice and beans. Its a lot of food but heated up well the next day. As a rule I dont care for tamales, but these were delicious. My waiter didnt seem to care for a party of one and I had to snag him for extra napkins, a box, and the check. I also got to listen to Boo Snider on guitar. The live music was conversation level and pleasant.
The food was AMAZING service was crazy fast and they make an awesome house margarita. We were seated, ordered and fed in 15min. Its authentic Hispanic food I plan to keep coming back whenever Im in the area
Food wasn’t anything special and the only reason I’m writing this is the price vs the portion it was way to small literally they are skimming the food first and last time coming here.
If you cannot eat beef or pork for some reason (like me), I do not recommend this restaurant. There is only like 5 chicken dish options and a few of the lunch specials are chicken but if you dont look there is pork or beef in the dish as well. The chicken dishes arent the most appetizing. Youd think that if the dish says dinner, youd expect a largish plate. The plate I got was barely anything, it was fairly small. I got the 2 chicken burritos with rice and beans, it was more like 2 small enchiladas and okay rice and beans. Personally, I will not be returning.
We Went For Cinco De MayoThey Had A Singer There For Entertainment. Food Was GoodThey Made Me A Strawberry 🍓 Margaritas 🍹 😋 🍹
Food was great. Server was very attentive. Love the atmosphere
It is often said you can judge a Mexican restaurant based on the chips & salsa. Well.... for the first time, I can say with all honesty, that aint true!! I wasnt a big fan of the salsa that was served.. taste was a little too pasty for me.. so, I expected the main course to be the same. BOY WAS I WRONG!!! The food was phenomenal and the magarita.. you have to witness that for yourself!! Two thumbs up!!! Gotta try the dessert 🍨!!!
Randomly decided to go here after spending most of the day at a University event. Was not expecting anything spectacular, but was pleasantly surprised. Food and service was great. We will definitely go back the next time were in town.
They were really busy, yet still managed to seat us quickly. Our waitstaff Kelly was wonderful, attentive and offered up great dish choices. The food was delicious and just enough. We will be back. If you love this food, then you must go.Very clean beautiful decor.
Excellent American Mexican food. Pro tip... Ask for salsa picante!
This place is such a mixed bag. The food was good, but the service is why I wont return. I waited to be seated in an empty restaurant. I had to flag down a waitress to take my order. The food was good, but Im currently waiting at an empty table for my check.Update: I requested the check from another server walking by.Update 2: She disappeared. Im still waiting. How many chances do I give before I can legally walk out?Update 3: I had to go to the bar to get and pay my check. The restaurant is empty. My server was over just standing in a corner. This may be the worst service Ive ever received in any restaurant.I will never return.
Awesome little place. We went in during happy hour and took full advantage of happy hour. The owner was super cool. I think he was the owner. Live music. And the guy was awesome. Chips and salsa on point. I still gave food a 4 because it tasted awesome, but my 3 hard 🌮 tacos had to be eaten with a fork. The second you tried to pick one up, the bottom was so soggy that it just fell apart. It still TASTED delicious. Just ended up being more pf a taco salad.
Charming decor. Attentive wait staff. Food was good, nothing outstanding. Clean.
Service always is good. The food is made on time and the taste is great.
Got takeout.. My wife had a chili relleno and I had a tamale, both à la carte. Average quality, sauce was about what Id expect from a Chef Boy-Ar-Dee can, surprisingly un-Mexican. Salsa with the chips was better. Both dishes were barely warm after driving a block to the hotel, but prices were reasonable.
We enjoy the staff and food here. We have a real estate investor meeting there monthly.
Disappointed tonight. Not sure if they were short-handed or what. We sat- got drinks and we had a spill. The waiter came by twice while I was cleaning up table and mopping floor with paper towels. Not a thanks- nothing- need another coke? Usually friendly, not so tonight.
This Restaurant was awesome. Took my wife there for mothers day, she had stake, shrimp and scallops and I had stake and shrimp fajitas. Everything was awesomeEven had leftovers to take home. Or waiter was young he said that he was a high-school senior, but he was very respectful and professional about doing a good job. We left him a good tip. If you are looking for a good Mexican restaurant this is the one. Enjoy!!!!
Amazing food and great service. The spicy sauce with the tacos I ordered was amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and an amazing atmosphere.
Big thumbs-up for a high value, relatively low cost South of the Border dining experience! We always stop here when traveling through Winchester, we always order the carnitas and margheritas, and somehow we always get the same waiter, Carlos. The food is tasty and the drinks are strong. Best of all, innn addition to being an attentive waiter, Carlos is very good-natured about helping us practice our (muy mal) Spanish. For the type of restaurant it is (casual ethnic dining), it gets all five stars from me!
Used to go often but it has gone downhill. Food is okay but my shrimp fajitas had 4 shrimp and they didnt include tortillas again. The last straw was the new owner Bobita (not sure of spelling) treated me horrendously during a pick up. I tried to cancel drinks that hadnt been made yet. Didnt want spilling in car.. I asked if they were made before asking to cancel them. The aftermath was unbelievable.
Okay, so Im from Texas and I dont normally eat Mexican food out of state, but a friend and I wanted to go out late on a week night and Los Toltecos was open, so we headed over. I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious chips, salsa, guacamole and queso. We only had time for appetizers, but I will definitely go again when Im back in Winchester!
I take no pleasure in writing bad reviews, but people should be warned. Im from TX so thats my baseline, and this place has tex-mex style food. The enchiladas were horrible - bland, canned sauce (tasted like it anyway), and the shredded cheese inside was room temp. I couldnt eat it. Service was great and the prices were good on the drinks, which were fine. After not really being able to eat the enchiladas, I ordered tres leches because I was still hungry. Wow. I have never had bad tres leches. Even from the grocery store or the bodega. How did they even do that? And it had hersheys syrup on it. Just, weird. I came here because it was a bit late and Cracker Barrel just looked too depressing inside. Regrets.
We have gone here for many years , it has gone down hill so badly!! Floors are so slick it’s a fall hazard on the long hall to the bathroom, service is simply horrible our waiter could not have cared about our table any less. Took our table 2.5 hours to eat while restaurant was SlOW. 30 minutes for cocktails which didn’t come out correct, and water. Once the food was ordered which we didn’t think would ever happen , it arrived in a normal timing but nothing was hot. The fajitas all three orders where on a cold plate non sizzling As normal laying in a pile of oil. One order never got tortillas, or there sides and toppings, 35 mins later I had to go find the waiter And ask for them she received when everyone else was asking for their checks. Service ignored request to just remove it from the bill. Honestly the whole meal felt like the servicer simply didn’t care at all. There are 20 other Mexican restaurants in this town do yourself a favor and pick any of the others this place is the worst
Ive only been here for lunch while traveling, but really enjoyed it. It seems really authentic with mariachi music and fun, colorful carved and painted tables and chairs. The food is good too, and the complimentary chips and salsa are excellent.
I purchased a gift card to this restaurant for $60 and when I tried to use it today they told me it had a zero balance and apparently after one year they take all your money even though the card doesn’t tell you that nor is it explained when you buy it. Therefore, I would avoid this establishment due to their shady practices.
I am not a person who writes reviews but I have been here so many times but these past few trips have been the worse. I was there on lunch and it looked slow and the service was rude and slow. I was also there during dinner and service is still slow. I thought there service would have been better since me and my husband were the only ones there. I’ve had two separate ladies and they have given me the worse service I could have ever received. I hope they get better servers, until then I will not be returning. Sad to say food is also smaller in portions than before.
Worth the drive to Winchester. Amazing Mexican dishes! Great atmosphere, staff were very attentive to our needs. Highly recommended.
The problem here, is inconsistency. It’s a 50/50 chance of getting good food or not. Some days the food is great! Other days, not so great. Even the ingredients in any given dish are inconsistent from one day to the next. Shout out to whoever makes the salsa on a good day - Pay that person more!
The meal was excellent. Love the seafood on the menu. Prices reasonable. Polite, great ambiance. Love all the decorative chairs and tables. In Winchester Virginia. Easy on off route 81. Kid friendly. Wheelchair accessible.
1 stars for the bartender being fast and taking such good care of us. The frozen margarita was good.1 star for the live acoustic music, which was really good.I deducted a star for the state of the restaurant..severely wobbly table so we just moved to sit at the bar. There is a hallway down to the bathrooms, and a window to allow you to see into the kitchen. This window is covered by a piece of plastic tarp. Why don’t they want you to see into the kitchen? Covering it with a plastic tarp just sends a bad message. It’s a lazy cover. It’s not professional. Also what is it that you don’t want the public to see in the kitchen? Bathroom stalls had odd large cans in front of the toilet such that you could barely sit on the toilet. Stalls are crowded enough but someone clearly bought the wrong size garbage can and instead of fixing it just stuck it in front and to the side of the toilet. Except it’s not really to the side. Really weird. And lastly, I took off 2 stars for the quality of the food. I ordered a fajita taco salad which came with about 3 tablespoons of lettuce. I get that the economy is really rough but…you are skimping on lettuce? This portion was way off. And just one half a a sliced tomato was on the salad. This was a sad dish that I would never order again—not worth the money, not even really a salad. Shrinkflation!
Excellent menu. The four of us all had different dishes and appetizers. All were very tasty and well prepared. Very flexible staff were willing to take care of all our special requests. The atmosphere was very cheerful. Great experience.!!!
We got there late and there were very few people in the restaurant. The service was speedy and cordial. The salsa was okay, not something to write home about. We ordered a steak quesadilla, chicken chimichanga and a mixed seafood dish. Much to our delight, everything was super tasty! The big surprise was the mixed seafood dish which came out almost like a fajita on a sizzling skillet. It was extremely flavorful, not spicy, but excellent flavors for all the bits. The same was true about about the steak and chicken in the other dishes. And lets not forgot it was Margarita Monday!! Excellent experience, highly recommended, will definitely go back.
Not sure why this place gets 5 stars. It’s nice but overpriced. We got burritos on lunch menu. When they came it was an underwhelming sight. It looked like a single enchilada. Burrito connotes a large flour tortilla folded over on both ends, right? We got dinky enchiladas.One. With LOTs of tasteless rice. I got beans, my husband didn’t.(???)Service was quick and chips were nice and thin.
Ordered the 3 selection plate from Vegetarian section. Very, very disappointing. The ‘quesadilla’ was a tiny! tortilla with only cheese/the chalupa I did not bother to try because of other 2/the Relleno was not at all normal - just a stuffed poblano with a thin sheet of rubbery blended egg laying on top of it.Did not eat any of it and barely touched the drink… yet, was charged just shy of $20 for the full meal I did not touch.I’m sure there are far better establishments here.
Went there for a work event and they handled all 30+ of us without any issues.Only thing Id recommend is adding a 6 star rating to Google for this restaurant
Food was ok but seemed of cheaper quality than most similar places. It sort of had that canned dogfood taste. The biggest flaw was the beer. There are no beer prices on the menu. I ordered the largest beer and it was 9 bucks or so. For 4.25 each I could have had 2 slightly smaller beers that equal way more beer for a little less money. I know this because this was the size my wife ordered. The restaurant knows this, the server knows this. Seems I was taken advantage of.
One of our go to favorites in the area. The food has never left us feeling like we should have cooked ourselves. Great ownership and great atmosphere. Not much we have been able to enjoy dine-in, but to go is always great as well.
We frequent the one in Chantilly because my son is obsessed with enchilladas. we ordered dessert to go and it was an oily mess when we got home. service was fast and kind. no frills.
So we always go to the one in winchester. Va.Always great food the last time we went. Our waiter Oscar was not there. The service was slow looked like a bunch of high school or college students working. Restaurant wasnt busy. Got our food it tasted good but was not hot. My husband cheese enchilada was not melted it was lumpy cause of it being cold. My burritos wad cold too. We did not say anything. We will go back but hopefully its alot better and we enjoy like we use too.
Ate at this restaurant in mid-December. Food was ok - but be sure to check your credit card statement if you pay by card. They changed my $2.93 tip into $10.00. Now I have to go through the credit card to get my money back. NOT COOL!!!!
Updated review (12-14-21): Still good food and good people. Though portions are smaller and service is slower. Still one of our favorite places to eat out.Previous review: Always good food and good people and service! Bring your family for good Mexican foods and great margaritas.
Premium margarita very tasty, just the right balance of good liquor and mix. Shrimp with rice dish excellent: perfectly cooked tender shrimp with fresh vegetables and golden rice. Service somewhat inattentive, possibly due to lack of staff, like so many places.
Served by Alex, and the service was great! Alex was very attentive, checking on my family before we had a chance to ask for refills! The food was also amazing. My family will definitely be returning and recommending this restaurant to our friends!
Great service, good food, and convenient location. Hard to beat their $1.99 margarita Mondays. Nice selection of dishes and colorful decor. Kids eat free with the purchase of adult meals on Monday through Friday.Great dessert options too like the Banana Cheesecake Chimichanga.
I always eat here when I am in town for work. Very nice staff, great food and it’s right around the corner from the Holiday Inn. Overall you can’t go wrong.
Food and drinks were good, atmosphere and musician were great...server.....not so much. He had an attitude and literally dropped the drinks on the table. He blamed a big party for the slowness of our food...but the plates were super hot which tells me...it sat under the heat lamps for a while...
The food is the best sit-down Mexican restaurant in the area. Its what youd expect in terms of chips/salsa and the menu. The service, however, is the slowest of any Mexican restaurant weve been to in the area. Most are incredibly quick. Expect to wait here. Its a little challenging with young kids or toddlers. Again, though, the food is good. One time our meals were served cool, not warm, but that has been an isolated incident so far.
Food was very good. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. Service was excellent. Decided to dine here unexpectedly and were glad we did. The Friday night live music was awesome, made our family evening more enjoyable. Nice clean restraunt.
I’ve been to my fair share of Mexican restaurants and to be completely honest, this was one of my favorites. The salsa is not chunky which is what I love. The queso (cheese dip) is to die for. Service was quick and employees were all very friendly. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back on my next drive through VA!
2.5 stars for the service and attention, they missed out on the other 3stars for the reason of the food.I ordered a ceviche de Camaro and ended up with a picó de gallo ceviche …. They ask if I’d like chips and salsa??? You don’t ask…This (authentic) Mexican restaurant would have been a joke in the southwest of the US..I’ll give them another shot in my next life.
Was great first couple of times visiting, BUT Ive notice the food is slipping far as taste and presentations. Disappointing was hoping dining there would kept some standards. Not sure Ill be back anytime soon.
Stopped in for lunch with a friend. The lunch menu is varied and delicious while still being a good value. The service was quick which is important for short workday lunches. Their salsa is probably one of my favorites in Winchester.
There seems to be a overblown appreciation for this place. First off,, the hostess was grumpy, the food was just okay and we had a long wait before our waitress to zhow up. . My companion was very disappointed with his meal and mine was so-so.
If you are in the area, its a no-brainer. And IF you are stopping through for an overnight, stay at the La Quinta which sits just across the street (its AH-mazing). You cant beat walking to dinner after so many hours in the car.We read great reviews of Los Toltecos and all proved true. Fantastic food and fair prices. Excellent menu. If wine is your drink of choice, just know this is not their main focus (all Barefoot Brand wines) but if you love Margaritas, hard liquors, mixed drinks and beer, theyve got you covered. We will definitely be back. We so enjoyed our meal and the service!
Lightning fast service, friendly staff, and excellent prices. I was seated immediately, my order came in under 5 minutes, and was delicious.
The margaritas were tasty but super weak and very expensive. The salsa the comes with the chips when you sit down was red water, the queso was barely edible. I ordered the mahi mahi tacos, the fish was fresh but covered in salt, and nothing else I mean literally you open the taco and it’s just fish, no cheese, no tomato, nothing. It comes with a side of shredded iceberg, and a side of chipotle mayo. I had to ask for hot sauce since there wasn’t any on the table. My friend got a vegetarian option that was supposed to come with a cheese and potato enchilada, it was all cheese, everything she got was filled with just cheese. No veg, no potato. And lastly I’m a huge fan of rice and beans, the rice was neon orange, usually Spanish rice has some tomato bits but this was tasteless. Mexican food is my absolute fave, even more so than Thai or sushi, and I know sometimes the best places look like a hole in the wall. This place is just a hole in the wall.
This is my wife and my favorite place to grab tacos. The atmosphere here is amazing, the staff are super friendly and helpful, and its not too noisy. Good place to come for a few beers and faire and to watch the game too. Huge screen in the middle of the room. They have an amazing selection of food for excellent prices! The tamales are great. We also recommend getting the queso to go with your chips. Plus they are so helpful for catering too!! We ordered tacos for our wedding reception and the staff was excellent at helping us place the order.
One waiter likes to hang at your table and act like hes part of your party. I wasnt able to have a private conversation with my husband on a couple occasions. We visited regularly (a couple times a week) until I brought in a party of 10. I was paying for all food and drinks and I had signed up to get there coupons. When I went to pay, my coupon had expired the night before. I asked the manager to honor it since it was literally within hours. She said no. It was 15%. I tip more than that. I explained I was a regular customer and her response was I know who you are. I told her she had lost my business for 15% and we havent been back. We go to el Ranchero right down the street on Pleasant Valley and love the food and service! I gave 2 stars because their margaritas are decent.
This place has a great kitchen. They use quality ingredients to make delicious food. I drive from Martinsburg just to eat here. My only gripe concerns the guacamole. For $7, the serving should be larger. Better yet, please consider adding freshly made table side guacamole to your menu. This is the only thing I miss when I visit Los Toltecos. Please keep up the good work!
This was by far the best dinner experience Ive had in a long time!! Delicious food! Beautiful atmosphere! Great service! Thank you!
Margarita Monday was a success for lunch with the fiance. Good service, great food, cheaper ritas than we can make at home. Will definitely visit again soon!
Food is amazing, the place is beautiful, super clean, very organize and efficient oriented. First visit was perfect. Our second time trying the place, we ordered what we loved the most the first time which was a mixed ceviche, got the order wrong, got no silverware and that’s ok. Mistakes happens. What I cannot tolerate is the ill mannered way that the server/host Nora, treated me.Customers can ignore anything but a rude attitude or poor service from the people that are suppose to take care on them; servers, hosts, managers.NORA was disrespectful, offensive, ill mannered, and referred to me in a very abusive way. You should make sure that people really care about their jobs, train them properly to even modulate their voice tone when talking to customers.Your food is awesome, your restaurant is pretty, it should be taken care of the way it deserves it.
I ordered carne asada and it was delicious! The way they seasoned that carne was tasty, tangy flavor also everything else that comes with that dish ( rice, beans, guac)Great taste, service and price.Ill definitely come back to this restaurant.
Been going here for a good while and the service has steadily been declining. This past Saturday was the absolute worst experience yet with only one waitress hardly speaking any English waiting on a party of 16 and when every single bill was messed up and the manager was asked to be spoken to for charging extra for a side that was said to be included stating well you ate it didnt you? Theyre lucky we even paid our bills. Two of us also got sick off their food. Will never go back again.
Eat here at least once a week, food is always great and service is always good! The restaurant is super cute and always clean.
Perfect Mexican restaurant. Weve been searching all over town for the place that was just right and man was this it.Since we moved out here there has been a hole in my heart that once was occupied by my favorite Mexican restaurant and this place reaches that bar. The queso and salsa are great, the menu is large and diverse, the food comes out ridiculously quick and well prepared. The wait staff were attentive and friendly. If I could give a 6th star I would. The live music was a nice touch.
Very good and fresh Ceviche
This is our new favorite place! The food was fabulous! Melt in your mouth amazing and fresh!Thank you for being open on EASTER🙂
As others have commented, the food portions are getting smaller and the price is going up. What they put in front of you now in most cases is half the portion size of last year. This place used to give good service, but now rapidly declining.
I had zero expectation for Los Toltecos. It was next to the hotel I was staying in so I walked over. It looks like every tacky Mexican-American restaurant Ive ever been in (thats not an insult either). The waitstaff was courteous and attentive. The food was delicious. Real corn tortillas, grilled steak that just popped with flavor, and a decent if not spectacular margarita. I was so unexpectedly impressed I went back the next night for more which caused the staff to laugh. My waitress recommend I try the cochinita pibil and it was fantastic. It melted in my mouth. I cant wait to go back on business just to have it again.
23.99 margarita was ok but food was better. Had 3 margaritas and stoopid me should have asked the price before hand. Im from the Californias Hi Dez and if I pay 15 bucks for a margarita and drink 3 I normally can hardly walk. Im posting this afterwords so what does that tell you. Live and learn.
This used to be our favorite Mexican restaurant in town because they had the best food ever. But a few weeks ago we had the worst meal ever. It was embarrassing because we brought guests and had raved about how good it was. First, the margaritas and frozen daiquiris had little, if any, liquor in them. I dont drink very often and I start to feel the effects after one drink. I drank two and no effect at all. I asked for whipped cream and it was brought without any. Next - our food. I requested the fried chimichangas with no beans and no guacamole. One of our guests requested the same. We both got chimichangas that were not fried, beans and topped with guacamole. Of the four plates of food we ordered, not any of them were remotely warm. I hope this was a one time experience, but the experience was so bad we cant bring ourselves to go back there and weve been eating there every two weeks for over a year.
Music was great, waitress was good, but we werent happy with the food. We had hard beef tacos, beans, and rice. Nothing had flavor. The beef, beans, and rice all were so bland. We even added salsa to everything just to try to spruce it up.
Before my last visit I would have given four stars but on our last visit here I fear there was something wrong with one of the dishes my wife and I shared. We got home and she was not feeling good and I was up in the night ill. Not good and may be a while before we return. Good atmosphere and setting, very friendly staff, its a nice place but we were just unlucky on that visit. We will return in a while.
Lunch order took longer than it should with only a few people in the restaurant but it is always better to wait for hot yummy food when it comes out. The beef chimichanga was deep fried perfect and the chips and salsa was fresh !
We visit Los Toltecos whenever we travel through Winchester, VA. This was the first time we ate in the restaurant...we usually do take out. The food was good but the service was not top notch. Seems like the servers were more interested in their cell phones and talking amongst themselves.
Yes. Yes. Yes. My husband and I moved from an area where there were killer Mexican restaurants and have been pretty disappointed with other local places since we moved. We tried Los Toltecos today and we were so excited. The food was 5 stars. I had the Tacos Al Carbon & my husband had the Burritos with carne asada. We also had queso, salsa, and guacamole. All of the food was great. Everything was perfect even though it took us 20 minutes to drive home with our take-out. 100% will be going back and would recommend.
Food was very tasty. They didnt bring any chips even after ordering queso(didnt bring that either). They were pretty busy for an off-hours lunch. Ill try it again.
Great food had the carnitas they were tender and delicious would recommend.
Their selection is limited, but thr food was good and mine came out INCREDIBLY fast. The only problem I really had with the place may have stemmed from that; the waiter I had seemed very rushed despite a nearly empty restaurant, and seemed to not have time for me.
Fantastic chicken soup that is not even on the menu. This is the only location that carries that soup as well. I sure wish Other locations would carry this delicious soup.If this review was helpful to you, please give it a thumbs up!
Always a decent experience!Food is decent, but the crowd that comes here can make it a bit unappealing sometimes. Very nice management waitstaff!
My favorite Mexican Restaurant with the best food. Never had a bad meal. Always get friendly service. I could eat here every day the food is so delicious.
We must have visited on a good day... We were alone in the restaurant and our waiter was a bit grumpy, but the place was clean, the food was great, and the margarita was awesome.
The staff greet me with a smile and I feel at home right away. I love the courteous new managers and the excellent service! They make their tostitos fresh and serve them warm with fresh-made salsa that is so delicious, I usually order a pint to go. I bring all my friends and relatives to Los Toltecos and they always leave satisfied. Its the perfect place to hang out on a Friday night too! Enjoy a Margarita and the music and fun - visit Los Toltecos today!
Decent food, chips were a little stale but otherwise good. Willing to try again since the staff was so nice.
Great food and great service. The house salsa is fresh and the chips are served warm. Havent had a bad meal. Checkout the daily specials
One the best Mexican restaurant I ever dined at in the last few years. Had the carnitas which was amazing. Will come back soon. Also, exceptional service.
I was here a few years ago and did not enjoy it. However, this time. it was EXCELLENT! I loved everything. Service, food, drinks! They did everything right. Will be going back again and again! They even serve Dr. Stoners!
I have come here several times over the years. I can honestly say that this restaurant has gotten better each time. The atmosphere is alittle corrny but typical of what you expect to find at mexican restaurant. The food is just plain good. Ill definitely keep coming back.
Nice place but line margarita was the worst Ive ever had. So I asked for a cadillac. Ummm ... NO. They brought back a frozen margarita with some wine or pomegranate crap on top. I rejected it.Also ordered shrimp the special fajitas. Not worth 11.00.The ceviche was not bad. Just too much fish as a filler. Please dont put guacamole in my ceviche!
Husband and I both got sick, they overcharged me for my drinks and when I told the, about it they argued and said everything was the same price.... not the case. We wont be returning and strongly encourage others to avoid
Best restaurant in the world i been going here from when i was 4 years old the people that work there and the food is so good SOOOO GOOOOOD also if its you birthday they do something very cool so i say you should go there RIGHT NOW RIGHT NOW
Outstanding food! Pollo Asada and Mole Ranchero finishing with flan and banana cheesecake chimis. Amazing! Service was great as well.
Very good food, decent prices and good service. You should try Los… your mouth will thank you.
Really really good tasty food. Friendly polite staff who make your stay enjoyable. Prices are competitive. A true 5 star home experience.
Very clean restaurant, excellent food, prompt service. Prices are fair too. Colorful decor and authentic music make for a great experience.
Slow service. We waited 30 plus minutes for queso. The waiter just seemed to be kinda lost. Not sure if they are just short staffed or what. The food was ok.
This is mine and my parents go-to for Mexican food. Always hits the spot! Nice environment and super professional and kind staff. Definitely recommend the carnitas and chiles rellenos!
Amazing food, great atmosphere, an extensive selction of vegetarian options, and a wonderful staff! One of my favorites for a long time now!
Wonderful food and staff. Highly recommend.
Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Doesnt get any better. The shrimp tacos are my favorite item on the menu.
I felt a little overwhelmed with the mariachi band. It was loud and obnoxious to me. The food and service was great. Prices we r w fair
Ordered through Uber eats. The food that did arrive was great, however we were missing two full meals. Not cool man.
Food has little to no flavor. Black beans taste like they are heated right out of the can. The rice is just plain and nasty.
I had a lunch special, it was delicious and the server was very nice and checked on me multiple times. Will definitely be going back soon!
People was friendly and I liked the menu and the prices.
Havent been in for years (I love on the west coast now), but the food was as good as I remembered. Service was great.
The food is tasty and quite filling. The waiting is worth it. This is the kind of place to eat out in weekends and any day for lunch
Really great food and service great finds, really beautiful stuff, great prices. Love all their locations, very friendly help.
Excellent food, Great service and very inexpensive. Amazed they are not packed every time we go to eat. We love the Winchester location!
It was good food and the service was really quick.
This is an awesome place. Food is wonderful and the staff couldnt be nicer!
Clean and nicely decorated. Varied selection of delicious authentic Mexican food. Tasty margaritas. Friendly and professional staff.
Chicken barely tasted like anything, and the beef tasted like hamburger meat. The sauce used wasnt very flavorful either. Also, you have to pay extra for salsa?
This place was great. The hot salsa was simply amazing. Food was fresh and hot. Place was clean and safe
They have amazing service and food. Their seafood is amazing as well. Honestly....better than why I would get at the beach....for real!!!!
Fantastic environment, friendly service, and consistently great food! Live music duo, Tacos & Beer, are AWESOME - great music for the whole family!
Meh. I’ve had better here in recent years. They used to be average, but both food and service have been subpar last two visits.
This place was amazing!!!! It has good waiters and amazing food. I will definitely come here again
Excellent food and atmosphere! The cheese dip was phenomenal!! A decent motorcycle ride, food, and home! Good times!!!
Food is very good. Every Thursday at 6:00 , they have an amazing singer for entertainment.
Never had a bad experience here. To all the negative posters, get a life, Los Toltecos is not in business to pamper those who grew up with helicopter parents.to pamper
One of the best spots Ive stopped for Mexican food,It was authentic with a great flavor, the prices are really affordable, great place with nice custom made furniture to complete the mexican theme, friendly staff & fast service, will definitely stop again
I cannot believe that this Mexican restaurant only has Monte Alban as their only mezcal. I would not call this a true Mexican restaurant.
Had 14 business people for lunch and we wanted Mexican food. We Googled up the place to see its menu ..... NO PRICES LISTED ON THE MENU ON GOOGLE ..... Sorry, that’s the oldest trick in the book ..... Adios amigos 🤚🏽
Great food and great service. Definitely will come back next time we are in the area!
Excellent food! Efficient friendly service.
Food is good but not the best, during live events the atmosphere is better but unless youre drinking or come with a group to make things more interesting the place is not worth coming back for the food alone.
Food is greath ..waitress are nice give good service ...bad manager spends all the time watching the phone ,shes careless of her job ,,to bad ,this place could do better if they find a manager willing to put up whit the job position
Food was very good but they need more staff to reduce the wait time on everything.
Had great time and food was delicious!! Service was very friendly.
The food is good. Not the best Ive had, but not the worst. Great selection of tequilas though...woot woot!!
Great find! The food is delicious, service is great and the prices are good. Cant go wrong.
Food and service was great !! Im Glad David the owner is back will visit more often.!
Good food. Queso could be alot better. They forgot some food items even after asking multiple times. But what we did get was good.
Amazing fajitas! Great service!
Good food, good service, no wait. Always leave satisfied.
Funny thing the building feels bigger inside than it seems, great food, excellent staff. Clean, great atmosphere.
My family and I were seated, waited patiently until we had enough, 25 minutes and not even asked what we wanted to drink, worse service I had ever
Ordered to go, while charging car. Plenty of beans and rice.
Always a delight. 😁
Great food and service. The most authentic mexican restaurant I have ever seen.
Great service amazing food. The friend ice cream is the best; seriously the best in the DMV area.
Food was good, atmosphere nice, decent service.
The shrimp ceviche was delicious. The service was good! Everyone there was very friendly.
Very good food large choice and great service friendly atmosphere
Pretty tasty food. Atmosphere seems nice but the place needs a good cleaning.
Great meal, good service. Will definitely be going back
One of my neighborhoods best ..food great one day next day okay... depending on whos cooking in the kitchen
Got our food quickly after ordering and the portions were perfect.
The food was horrible never again. Something told me that it was going to be nasty🤮 the place was like a ghost town. Red Flag.🇲🇦
Love taking my family there. Friendly staff and good food!
It was much quieter than anticipated. we had a great time though and throughly enjoyed our time.

Great food. The staff is super sweet too!
Service was good. Salsa was tasty main dishes where excellent.
Come all the time. Their margaritas are amazing and the pork is the best Ive ever had at a Mexican place.
Great food and quick service. Enjoyed the meal
Great Place, Great service, fantastic food and prices
Food was pretty average. If it were a chouce between this and going to chipotle Id do the latter
Ohhhh yeah .....seafood chimichunga. Their guac is perfect! Reasonably priced, nice sized portions
Love the atmosphere and the food is great!!!. Prices are very reasonable.
Family oriented restaurant. Friendly staff and wonderful selection.
Good food at reasonable price. Great service!
Waitress Kelly was great
Their carnitas are the best things I’ve ever tasted and I want to bathe in their Queso dip.
Great place, great food and great service!
