Polite staff and great drinks. Excellent ambience for a bachelorette or bachelor party, with classic 2000’s music throwbacks and great music, definitely worth checking out for your night out.

Fantastic spot with decent pricing and absolutely excellent service from the bartender. He remembered our drinks even while handling dozens of others entirely solo. Would definitely come back when we next visit!

Horrible experience with this place. Was in a group of 8 people visiting Asheville for a friend’s birthday and decided to check it out. Half of us got in and when I got up to the door I was told I couldn’t bring in my cross body bag even though my friend brought in her bag that was bigger than mine. It took 3 bouncers with disgusting egos and attitudes to tell us that and one even put his hand on me then told me I was being “aggressive” because I told him to take his hands off me. The only explanation they could offer was that “men are more likely to blow up the place” and that “men are drug runners”. I am 31 years old and a gay male whose boyfriend was also in line with us. There was obviously something more going on than just a bag. Won’t ever be back and will be telling everyone I know to never go to this bar. Why are girls allowed large purses but a man can’t have a simple cross body bag in a city where you’re walking all day? Get better bouncers who don’t look like they dropped out of high school. Stop being homophobic and discriminatory. Absolute trash place.

Not from here and we heard this was a good bar and to be honest that was true. I’m from Florida so yes the vibe was a bit different but they played good music,hip hop ,rap ,older rap/hip hop. The drinks are normal prices and the service was good. Worth going for.

Bouncers have an ego problem/this place blows…I was threatened for wearing sunglasses inside. Next night Got my ID confiscated (by the same bouncer lol) as a legal adult and held for about an hour till cops were involved.Drinks were alright for the price, music was good if you enjoy top 20 2010 pop hits, but overall will never go here again.1/5 stars(Never tried the food; however, going off the overall experience I doubt I would be impressed)

8/17/24 @10pm - the guy checking IDs inside at the door told my male fiancé who was holding my purse that “that wasn’t allowed” but when he said that the purse was mine, he said that it was okay. My friend jokingly said “okay no man purses allowed” and the bouncer said “exactly” in a serious tone with a straight face. 0/10 experience, would not recommend spending your money at this business that’s threatened by a man carrying a small handbag but thinks it’s only acceptable on the opposite gender.

This bar was alright it was small, the decor is fun and the bar tenders are nice.There is a commitment to toilet paper, one bathroom has six different holders and rolls.

We were recommended this place, but I saw a review talking about how the bouncers are mean for no reason. Sure enough the guy with the bald head was unnecessarily talking about how our Georgia licenses may be fake, and he doesn’t know what the fake ones look like yet. First of all, shouldn’t you know these things? Either way, my bf is 27, and I’m 25. Clearly don’t look young, I would understand if we looked younger. The whole process took way too long. He asked my boyfriend several questions about his id, talking about how it could be fake. I looked at him and said “ Does he look under 21??? “, and he didn’t say anything and grabbed mine, then started inspecting my id. It’s like dude, I understand you’re doing your job, but this is over the top, accusing us of having fake id’s. He made the first impression of the club horrible and we left right after. Y’all need to get your bouncer in check, because that was too much. We would have stayed if he didn’t make us feel uncomfortable.

Atmosphere is really cool, drinks are cheap but service SUCKS! Bartender (all three) are rude. Multiple signs that say no tippy, no sippy. Tipping is based off service, if the service sucks, I shouldn’t be required to tip. Bartenders deserve tips if they’re good, not just because they are there. A friend’s drink was thrown away and kicked out for not leaving a tip. Also, they won’t give you free water.

Really loved this spot! Someone local recommended it and we had a great time. We went a little early in the evening and when my friend ordered a drink that the bartenders hadn’t heard of before, they were super nice and looked it up to make it- delicious! They also had a really great DJ when we went who played fun stuff from the 2000s. Pretty reasonably priced.

We had visited this place back in January of this year. Mind you it was 9 degrees outside but locals stated that this place was a must. So we proceed to wait in line because it was packed. The door man which was wearing a Cowboy was controlling the crowd. Suddenly a girl that was leaving the establishment started to socialize with some people In line. Then suddenly they started fighting outside the club/bar. I told the door man are you going to stop the fight or let us in. He let us in and as soon as we got in the two girls that were fight hit a gas line. Natural gas was pouring into the building and we were in fear for our lives. Fortunately we were able to get out but it could have been avoided is my issue. NO ONE WANTS DIE IN A BAR... because the door man didnt do his job and stop the fight.

Me and a group of friends visited this bar on Friday 6/7 all was well. I asked for a cup of ice water and was quickly served a cup of ice water. NOT a bottled water. My same group went back to this bar on Saturday 6/8. I asked for a cup of ice water for my friend that was not feeling well. The skinny young girl that was taking my drink order was refusing to give me a cup of ice water. She was forcing me to pay for a bottle of water. I tried explaining that I was served a cup of ice water the night prior and she continues to refuse me a cup of ice water and tell me IDK what to tell you. I looked at my friend in need of water and said Im so sorry but she wont give me a water. The skinny girl turns to a short, larger, older woman and says something under her breath. The 2nd bartender that is now involved comes over to me and says what is your problem. I said, I am just trying to get a cup of water for my friend. She proceeds to say we dont do that, we only have bottled water for purchase I tried explaining to her I got a cup of water the night before and she asked what time was that..... like it matters??? She said yeah well we dont do that here. I proceeded to say, for the saving of your customers confusion, just make sure all bartenders are on the same page about giving out a cup of water. The older lady proceeds to scream in my face YOU WILL NOT TELL ME HOW TO DO MY JOB and runs to get this very large (400lbs) white guy behind the bar. He walks over and immediately starts screaming at me, asking me what my problem is, screamed at me YOU ARE NOTHING! He keeps asking me to explain my side and any time I go to speak me yells IDC!. At this point, I am just in shock that all of this is over a damn cup of water. He grabs my vodka soda that I just orders and throws it in the trash a screams YOU ARE DONE! He has security come escort me out (with force) even though I am willingly walking out the door. So to wrap this story up, I was THROW OUT OF THE BAR FOR ASKING FOR A CUP OF ICE WATER FOR MY FRIEND IN NEED!!!!!! Dont worry, the ALE has been notified hat this bar is not offering complimentary water for its customer who are consuming alcohol. This will not go unnoticed. Their actions are so unsafe for those attending the bar as well as consuming liquor with no access to FREE water when in need. This is so sad!!

Door person needs to be kinder. Took my girl here and he tried to confiscate her ID in a moment of really poor judgement. Not only is her ID pic very accurate, but she has the exact same bright blue hair in it. Makes no sense at all for someone to spend hundreds of dollars dyeing their hair just to get in a bar. Additionally, they didnt have to be a douche about it, laughing at her for being on the verge of tears.Bartenders were cool and the place was a vibe. Definitely surprised to see any rand books and art by Frieda kahlo in there.

Went for New Years. It was fun. Nice little dance floor and they play hits from the 2000s, so anyone can enjoy the music.

Awful experience. The bouncer didn’t recognize that my ID was real, so he asked me when I graduated high school. I don’t remember the year. I’m ADHD, neurodivergent, and traveled the world between and since my time in school- so I was honest in saying I didn’t recall. I provided my birthdate, my background, offered my passport as an alternative document, and he threatened to hold my ID unless I called the cops. I was devastated that I was about to waste my night calling the police to retrieve my ID- because it was my last night visiting Asheville with my partner before needing to fly back home. Which- I *need* my ID to get back home. He could’ve even asked for my flight tickets- because TSA didn’t have an issue with my government issued State Driver’s License. As I searched my phone to provide further proof (whilst he insisted it wasn’t me), he began to put me down and complain that it’s my fault for holding up the line. Eventually he let me in after proving my signature matched my ID. But I was so distraught, beginning to cry once I was finally inside. It wasn’t worth the stress. The crowd inside was very lovely. The bartenders were attentive and hardworking. But the doorman was unnecessarily unkind. Especially when I already was feeling not good about myself that day. To tell me I didn’t look like my own ID made my dysmorphia so much worse. I didn’t mind that he let regulars cut the line. I didn’t mind that he seemed to be partying inside when I left. But you were unkind, sir. And I just wanted to enjoy a pretty bar in a short visit with my partner on my last night here. Sincerely, I was the girl with the blue hair. Two-toned blue hair, same as my ID photo (save for my roots), that I’ve had for over a decade. You were absolutely displeasurable. And I didn’t deserve that just for being a visitor. Get better at checking identification. Please. No one deserves to be treated poorly because you can’t tell real from fake ID.

Cool bar, but pouring short shots is poor performance…what’s the point of using a measuring jigger if you don’t fill it to the top?

Great DJ, a good mix of music and ages. Most tended to be mid 30s and under the night we went and we are 60s so we were probably the oldest there but even the young ones spoke to us and danced with us as a group. Almost a speak easy or 50s dinner look to the booths. Fun lighting all over, puts you in a good mood when you walk in the door. You do have to buy a membership to get in which is only $3. Would highly recommend if you want a fun night of dancing.

Bad place to go when the security won’t let us in and we’re all of legal age but let everybody else in when they say they’ve “closed” the doors. So it’s nice to know you pick who your customers are when money is money.

There was a gas leak and they took safety seriously. Cowboy hat guy took the reigns and got people out promptly. A guy tried walking in (after warned) with a lit cig and was rightfully rocked. It was awesome. Wish i had instant replay.

Bouncer threatened to take my partners ID if they didnt provide further proof of them being who their id said they were. And was generally rude and almost came down to police needing to be involved. (She looks identically to her ID). Avoid if no action is taken if you are visiting from out of state.

We went on Friday for just a drink and ended up dancing the night away! Great DJ for the night and the bartenders provided great and prompt service. Told other friends that were also staying in Asheville to check the place out. Only a $5 cover fee and drink prices were reasonable.

Ive only been once, but my impression was that it was funky, clean fun. Everyone here was dressed like they came from the book nerd club, and there was no skanky behavior. My gin and tonic was so-so, but I tried a friends Black Russian and it was on point. Note: it flips from a sleepy bar to a circa 90s jams boogie scene at 1130. Came for a friends bachelorette party and there were at least two other bachelorette and one bachelor parties there. Id go again.

Completely terrible experience! I scheduled Uber to pick me up at 2am and was kicked out at 1 am middle of winter and had to wait 1 hour for my Uber in the freezing cold. Why was I kicked out?….. I have absolutely no idea at all. I believe they got the wrong person? Im not sure but… will I ever go back? Absolutely not! Anybody and everybody don’t give this place your money!

Cool place but Fridays and Saturdays are packed and they are understaffed. For such a happening place you’d think they’d be able to hire another bartender.

Two drinks for $20.00 (or so I thought) not too bad however my card was charged $217.00. Make sure to check your card the day after. There is no working phone number or email to even try to contact the business about the fraudulent charges.

This place is great. Danny was a fantastic bartender. The atmosphere was so chill. Its definitely going to be a regular place I visit.

The door dudes are patient, the bartender Daniel was chill and friendly. Great selection of booze & bottled/canned beers, especially for essentially being a dance club. The inside is lovingly decorated, go stargazing on the walls on your way to or from the bathroom.Great people watching both inside and when the street-facing window is opened.Membership was $5. Signs everywhere make their tipping policy real clear.

Our favorite nightclub to go dancing. Always a good time!

Well the atmosphere was great it’s definitely a cool little bar but whoever was the bartender on the night of 4/07/2022 really was extremely rude kicked us out cause he hadn’t seen me tip yet was being very rude because he hadn’t received a tip from me then proceeded to be extremely rude to the people I came with. I was ordering 5 dollar can Coronas. My friends were tipping and we were gonna leave a tip at the end of our night but the bartender decided to escalate the situation he followed us out has we were leaving and proceeded to talk smack, said really rude things about our mother, say he was the owner, say since he was the owner that this was okay. I would highly not recommend going only because of that bartender

When I walked in this place had a cool vibe. Then they ID me 3 different times. They were purposely trying to kick people out and take their IDs. My friend had his ID taken so a cop needed to be called to get it back. Very unprofessional of them and when I got my ID checked the third time, the second one who ID us said he already did it and the last guy said “no I have to ID everyone.” Bad communication on their part and they lost a lot of business that night.

Great music but really crowded the theme is all over the place and alot of clutter kinda kicked my ocd in lol but great vibes, great bar tender forget his name big guy sweetheart like a teddy bear. Ive never seen so many Bachelorette parties crammed into one small space. It is a beautiful thing. Highly recommend. That said, you will have to contend with gaggles of girls all drunkenly singing along to the same horrible songs that drunk girls are always singing to (looking at you Jessies Girl ...blarf).

If you grew up in a tiny town and have never visited a club, I can understand why you may find this place enjoyable. Compared to other venues, I have never seen so much hatred amongst employees towards customers, especially anyone who Ive ever encountered working the door. They use venmo for paying their cover (yes, a bar in Asheville, NC really does have a cover fee) which is just on multiple levels of unprofessional.Not rating this 1 star for a couple reasons;1.) They over-pour their liquor like crazy. Makes it great for customers, not sure if its as beneficial for the bar. So if youre trying to save money, good place to get drinks.2.) They themselves probably dont even realize that theyre doing anything wrong3.) Sketchy guys in or loitering around the bathrooms is not a problem from their end.

Great atmosphere.They did an excellent job of keeping the place clean, picking up cups as soon as you were finished pretty much.At 11 the dance party started and it was enjoyed by a full house.The people were friendly and engaging.

HORRIBLE experience. Myself and three other individuals had our belongs stolen. We brought it to the attention of staff who all did nothing about it. During an incredibly stressful situation, I was shown zero courtesy as a customer as well as just flat out ignored at times. They took no initiative to remedy the situation and even offered that I take it outside and handle the situation on my own. There are no safety precautions taken for the guests so watch your back and your property if you choose to go to the establishment. I typically enjoyed TM, but after that incident Ive lost all respect for the staff and establishment.

I am from out of town, but I have been to Tiger Mountain multiple times. Its always a great experience. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is absolutely LIT, and the music is on point for the environment. They also have a photo booth and lots of board games...which is very cool. I highly recommend Tiger Mountain!

The bartender is extremely rude. This place is a total hole in the wall. If youre looking for a good atmosphere and nice people this IS NOT the place. I wouldnt go here if the beer was free.

If you like good people and great atmosphere, youll love love this place. I meet interesting folks everytime I come here and get to chill in a stellar booth too. Plus they have a photo booth so if youre looking to drink and a bit of a narcosis, dont miss Tiger Mountain!

Ive been in here when the place was packed wall to wall, and Ive been in here when it was totally dead. the overall atmosphere is not bad, but its not great either. its an easy place to find if youre looking and the drink prices are on par with basically every other bar in town. never had any issues with the staff other than getting a bit of a grumpy type of welcome from the doorman. getting a drink on nights when this place is full is almost impossible, but its a pretty small place with one bar. This place reminds me of some old partys in someones basement. overall worth checking out depending on what kind of event they are having.

Have to say it’s quite the impressive racket that the manager checks your ID to charge you a $5 membership fee, finds it fine, then confiscates it 5 minutes into being inside when you’re legitimately 21 because “it’s impossible for someone who graduated when you did to be 21” despite literally a dozen ways to prove it’s right.At least the Asheville police department can do simple math and was nice enough to come by for a chat with them to get it back. As a note to the owner, hiring bouncers who can pass a 5th grade math class should probably be a criteria.

I love this spot. Absolutely excellent bar with Really friendly, jovial bartenders. Try the fernet. Clean facilities/building, right next to Static Age. Really cool art on the walls, including beer cap Jesus. Great vibe and atmosphere. Love the colored lights hanging from the ceiling. Great spot to grab a drink and chill.

Really loved this place it is very local. Had a blast with my fiance and his friends. Down town Asheville is great grew up in the area most of my life. A lot has changed but everything is so convenient in walking distance. Especially walking with the one you Love :-:-😍😃

. I had my purse stolen while in Nashville a few days earlier but had a government ID on me. I went into this bar and bought the requisite membership and a few drinks. My friends and I went to Lazy Diamond (highly recommend) for some Karaoke fun And about 1.5 hours later returned to this spot. They refused to allow me to enter with the membership card and ID that they sold me and I had used 90 minutes earlier to get in. The bouncer was extremely rude and the manager was flat out ignorant. The bar was empty so it was no major loss but I can promise I will not return. Instead, spend your money next door at The Crow and Quill. Youll have a better experience with a better atmosphere and an inherently more intelligent staff.

Terrible bartender, singular because everyone else is great. They expect tips. Everywhere else you have to earn tips but at this bar you give them $10 for $6 worth of beer and they wont bring you change. I dont tip first beer because I believe tips are earned. I went back up to the bar and he said you didnt tip you have to wait until everyone else is served. I gave him a $1.01 to make it an even $7 and wrote bad customer service on the reciept. He walked up behind me and said f*** you then kept getting in my face about it. I got beer first round for $4 and then the next round he was charging me $6? Great vibe great bar and most the time great bartenders!

Not a safe place to go. There was a physical fight last night and the guard shouldve stopped them right when it started instead of letting one guy, who was innocent, get beat up by MULTIPLE people for a while.This is ridiculous. He was trying to stop the fight but end up getting beat up for NO reason, TWICE. Ill definitely NOT recommend this place to anyone.

Daniel was amazing. Seriously -- being a local, we got the best service, best hospitality, and great conversation. We will keep coming back, just for th chill vibe and welcoming service.

For a club in Asheville this place has great potential. The vibe, music, and atmosphere are great. Unfortunately, they let things like cleanliness, and upkeep slip. The womens restroom looked like it hadnt been checked on in hours, there were clogged toilets, stalls without toilet Paper, broken bottles on the floor, etc.

Update:I read the reply from the owner and totally sympathize with what Asheville bars must be dealing with. I have friends who own bars in Houston and all of them are just barely holding on too. The whole night was a disappointment as tourists and we probably won’t be visiting Asheville again anytime soon. I stress to businesses that you update your listing to reflect the actual hours you are open even if they’re temporary so as not to illicit frustration. I’m so sorry that you’re having to deal with laws that work specifically against small businesses, coming from Texas I totally understand what it’s like to have a government that is consistently working against small business owners.Paid $6 in their lot to park just to be told they can’t serve after 11 😐 it clearly says 2am on their listing.

I hung out there for a couple of beers, had a great time. chatted up the staff and the customers. left to go get a couple of drinks at the lazy diamond, when I came back, the bouncer (who wasnt there before) asked for my ID, so I showed him my drivers license (government issued from British Columbia) then he asked for my passport... seriously... then he wouldnt let me in, although I had drank two beers in the exact same spot he was sitting in... thats just bulls#@t!

We came to this bar because it was open last 11 pm, and overall had a really nice time. The staff was really nice, and overall I enjoyed the experience. I definitely recommend if you’re looking for a casual drink at the bar.

Don’t go here if you are a “tourist.” We came up to Asheville from Greenville, SC for a short girls trip, I would hardly consider us tourists since we are less than an hour down the road but as soon as we walked in (5 girls) the bartender was rude. He told us it was members only and we had to pay a fee to drink. A “local” who is a friend of mine recommended that we try this place and never said there was a fee. So I texted him and he said the bartender was lying. We left because the bartender never even came back to get our orders after we said we’d pay the fee. When our Uber driver picked us up we asked him about the “membership” only rule and he said he had never heard of it & the bartender was probably just trying to get rid of us because he thought we were tourists. I will also add that they weren’t busy at all.

WORST PLACE IN ASHEVILLE!! Do NOT go here. The atmosphere is very low class and trashy. The staff is rude and racist. Ive been here several times and have never had a good time. The last straw for me was when they didnt let my friend in because she had a passport... but as someone who checks IDs at a bar I know that this is okay to accept. They dont know what they are doing and they clearly dont care about the people who come by. Save yourself a trip and go to any other dance place in Asheville. Asheville music Hall, room nine , scandals, and the southern are all places that can substitute​ this place.

There’s usually a line. Inside the air is humid and floors are always wet and sticky. Kind of gross. But it’s also the most dependable place in AVL to always have dancing and people in it. The bartenders are attentive. Music is okay. It’s where you go at the end of the night.

The place itself is what one would expect to find going to a dive dance bar scene. Depending on whose working the bartenders can either be friendly or not. The drinks are way overpriced for what you get, there’s better places around town. Going there a couple of times, the music is always the same, very basic like the radio. Trying to get ahold of someone is not easy, they do not answer the phone (for whatever reason). And when i messaged them through Facebook they can read the message but still, NO ANSWER. Yes one can see when a message is read, thought that was common knowledge.. If you can read it you can also answer a simple yes or no question in less than 3 seconds. It may be a bar but you still need to hold a level of professionalism as you are a business! Definitely not ontop of my go to list of places in town and definitely last for professionalism.

Love this little spot whenever Im forced to go downtown lol. The environment is welcoming... I rarely have to wait to be served by the super kind bartenders. And the crowd is always really chill. No complaints for this spot.

One of the only late night get down spots in asheville. Dont show up too late or you will wait in line all night, but if you are looking for a spot to get loose after hitting the breweries this is the place. DJ plays mostly hip hop with some throwbacks intermixed.

Disgusting as a business and as a location.The dance floor and restroom floor were quite quite similar. Covered in human bodily fluids and permanently sticky. Drug abuse obvious in restrooms.Men use the womens restroom door like a peep show, even to the point where they open the door and look inside.Once you enter youll immediatelly pinball into twenty other people just trying to find a seat.Once you find the seat, its unsafe to even sit on it because theyre broken, have exposed hardware, and you can ride the bench seats to the ground. Also sticky.Youd think theyd be able to fix then by charging their cover charge every time to walk in, even after going outside for a phone call or a cigarette they make you pay to get back in.On the bright side, its the best one-stop shop for a $15 drink in a plastic cup.

Daughter went to bar and ordered an Abita. Bartender ansked why do you want a LA beer? My daughter said because I am from Louisiana and was told you need to leave, we know who you voted for and we will not serve your kind. How rude to treat people who are here spending lots of money in the local economy. No security or manager available. These are the kind of people who ruin America. Avoid this bar like the plague it is.

My friend got drugged and ended up in the hospital. Don’t trust the people, watch your drinks, not a safe place.

Drink prices are reasonable. The low quality photo booth provides pictures that hang on my fridge. I feel like Im somewhere else in another time that Ive yet to define.

This small bar is exactly what you would expect! Even though it is a small place it s still a ton of fun and usually always busy!

I really liked the Christmas lights strung across the ceiling along with the cool artwork and statues on the walls. The drinks were good and the servers were pretty nice too.

Bouncers and bartenders are rude, drinks are pricey, and it attracts negative and dangerous people, I recommend staying away. They also play favorites

Music is semi-bumpin... crowd is about the same. Yes this could vary depending upon the evening but there are much better venues in the city. Disappointed overall
