This is such a cool little bar/venue! Its very well run, but has that cool underground/dingy feel that I love about the city. Make sure to wear ear protection though, it gets very loud in there.
The bar itself is to serve a live venue and is quite cozy with a portal to the patio for a server out there. Something about the feng shui is just right and their bartenders are pretty amazing. 🤩
Had a great time, its a smaller venue but the Djs were skilled. I love me some Drum and Bass
Nice bar that had some nice punk rock music.
Great bands played there. I loved Resident Purple
I recently visited this Establishment and unfortunately, I had an incredibly disappointing experience. The service was abysmal, with staff members appearing indifferent and unfriendly. Despite attempting to engage with them politely, I was met with rudeness and a lack of willingness to assist. Its disheartening when you patronize a place expecting good service and are instead met with such hostility. I wont be returning, and I certainly cant recommend this establishment to others.
Surprisingly friendly service from all the staff I interacted with, and they also have the POS system linked so you dont have to open multiple tabs. A couple of the draft beers I had were stale but that wasnt unexpected. Id say this place exceeds expectations for a music venue, but not sure Id stop by for any other reason
Some local metal bands played here and I came specifically to see them. No food ordered, nor am I one to consume any alcohol, so I cant comment on that, but the venue was extremely intimate--translate: 300 people made for a super tight fit. I was belly up at the stage so the press came from behind. Better that than having all the drunk sweaty people blocking my view of the stage. Other than that, I really did enjoy the show. Decent neighborhood too for safety and parking.
Great vibe in an intimate setting. regarding their acoustics, one of the better venues in the area.
Been here for a show only once so I regret not coming here more often for that but have visited the patio on several occasions. Patio looks out across over to Flat Iron so good spot to scope out if things are getting interesting over there. For me Id stop here to start off the mid afternoon weekend drinking and then go from there. Convenient window at the bar so you dont have to waste time going around inside to grab another drink.
Fairly quick bartenders, great live music with amazing sound quality. Its a little cramped for bigger shows, but thats half the fun you dweeb.
Great music, great drinks, very cool venue. Only downside is parking but you can find spots off of side-streets. Saw Michael Cera Palin, The Holy Ghost Tabernacle Choir, GILT, and Less Dead 💚 Everyone was fantastic and Im excited for the upcoming shows
O M G my luck poured in on this night! I happened to stumble in and see this amazing band from Belgium. 529 was well staffed and laid out for the scene, as well. I will definitely be back! Not sure why I havent been before.
Terribly ran. I was denied entry because the owner of the venue decided to pick sides like a high schooler and let the opening act artist deny me entrance. I was there with a group of friends to see our friend play but since the opening act does not like me because of personal issues between us that has nothing to do with the owner or anybody else.. I could not see my friend perform. Do not come here if you have any differences between any acts there, they will let them abuse power, choose their side, and deny you entry, bad or no reason at all. Very unethical owner and business. Even a venue way higher up than them told me their reasoning is very weird and bizarre.
Love 529! Perform here with my band and love seeing all the local music here.
Cool bar for listening to bands. Awesome crowd too. I happened to wonder by and stopped in. I met some cool people and heard come cool bands. Cheers!
Great atmosphere and vibes. Whiskey sour that we ordered was not good. Would stick to beer.
Just saw a concert here - my friends and I were harassed and followed throughout the night, there was no security, and if there was, not obvious and not helpful. The show and venue itself was great, but did not feel safe.
I came to this bar with some of my girlfriends from high school the other night. We were at the bar ordering drinks and a roach flew out of nowhere and hit me in the face. It landed in my friend’s drink and when we told the bartender in hopes of her getting a new drink, he said it added more flavor. So disappointing, will not be back. 🪳
Awesome venue for indie bands. Had a blast. The bartenders were very friendly.
Its a great venue, large enough to accommodate a crowd, but small enough for the bands to fill the room. Their sound guy is really really good. Drinks are decently priced, staff is super helpful and friendly. 5/5 would drink & see bands here again.
Bartender was awesome and very lovely.
Weve only been here once. The show was great but the sound wasnt. There seemed to be issues with volume control, as well as with acoustics. This is the only venue where weve left with out ears feeling in pain. A bartender was quite rude to us so we went to the other bar in the venue, where we were treated much more kindly. This is our least favorite venue but wed go back if there was a show we wanted to see badly enough.
Great spot for a Wednesday night . Got to see some awesome bands for only $10. Plus you can bar hop to the others across the street.
Always a good time here! Great bartenders, outdoor seating, and attached parking lot.
The bar staff are great, the venue space is super intimate and has a slight smell of mold. I love it. Amazing spot for live music. The doorway between the bar and venue is too tight, that is my only complaint.
One of my favorite places to watch a show. Its never overly packed and service has always been decent. Id say avoid it if youre not a smoker because outside is just a big smoke fest.
This is a cool spot for live music. They have a relatively tiny bar section, but its serves its purpose. I have seen a few shows there and had a blast every time. The beers here are reasonably priced and the wait time is respectable.
Won tickets on a local radio station for a show here once; couldnt have been a better venue to stumble upon. Its in a hipster area with a crowd that mostly consisted of young professionals. You feel safe walking back to your car and the show was not only intimate but amazing! Have been regularly checking for upcoming bands ever since.
This spot is a great place to hang out. The beer is good, and there is usually always dancing and music. I seem to end up here with several friends from different friends groups. I truly enjoy this bar, and the location. Whats not to love about East Atlanta Village?
One of the staples of EAV night life. More than just a bar! The live shows here have a very intimate feel with the smaller stage and the crowd standing so close (if Sneaky Hand is performing, the lead singer is liable to hop down and mingle during the performance). Local talents perform here on a regular basis. I love this place, but please make sure to wear ear protection as the music is generally loud enough to hear from the bar and even patio area (as it should be). Theyll give you free ear plugs at the bar - just ask.
Good small dive bar with outdoor/patio seating and a stage/venue hosting many good local and non-local bands. I usually go to the metal shows and the sound engineer does a great job. Cheap booze.
Big, open venue. Dont care for the cigarette smoke (millennial alert)... Been to a concert and a comedy show here. Both really inviting shows. Bathrooms are clean too if you care.
The location is wonderful, there’s plenty of places to eat near the place because 529 doesn’t sell food. They just remodeled the building and the new stage is great and the sound quality is great. I went to see Rotten Stitches and a few other bands and had a wonderful time!
Any venue that hosts the likes of Leeway is a 5 star establishment by default. My experience was excellent. From the friendly greet by the doorman, to the farewell hadshake from the band, everything was exceptional. I should also note that although I was only drinking a red bull, the bartenders were very accommodating, and engaging.
529 rules. And if you think different, lets get a drink there. You wont hold that same opinion after. Bartenders are hip, they always know what you need. Musics top-notch, too, always with the perfect b-movie on the screen.
Great music venue!! Very intimate! Also very obvious that it has been recently renovated. Bathrooms were amazingly clean and even still smelled like fresh paint.
My band has played at 529 for years. We love the environment. It is always a party every time there is a show there. It is kind of like what having a part in your parents basement when they went off out of town was like. Everyone telling dining from plastic cups, singing, dancing enough to get sweaty, its a blast. The bar tenders are extremely efficient, youll never have to wait an unreasonable amount of time for a drink. Try their Jack and Coke slushie when its warm out, it is super refreshing and will get you feeling right for the show! The posted show times in the website are always early, the does tend to run late, but thats the point over there. Expect to have a fun later evening of drinks, partying, and loud rock and roll!
Awesome night, the DJs had me dancing all night long. DJ Tag and his edits were straight ridiculousness. I mightve lost 5 lbs by the end of the night. Best fun since before the pandemic.
Great. Its a dive bar. Without dumb pretentious bartenders. You would think it wouldnt need a medal because of such. But it does. Of curse great service, music, prices, afternoon television, bands. Not in that order. Cheers
A bit on the noisy side, but the food is great and the beer selection is great too. Also has a much better soundtrack than most bars, but Im biased due to my love of old school metal.
Not really anywhere to sit. I went to see a friends set and was not aware that the band would play well after midnight. I ended up missing it because it was so late. The guest djs were good though
I went to 529 to catch a snarky puppy show in 2011. it was a lot smaller inside than i expected but it made for a very intimate show. it was definitely a great night. the fact that i could visit the bar for a breather when the adjacent room was 2 packed for breathing was a real plus. i really enjoyed myself and truly appreciated the intimacy 529 offers for music performances. yes, i will revisit!
Great location in east Atlanta. A cozy bar and a cast of patrons that attend. I went and saw a comedy show with live music after and it was a blast.
Great place to see a show, sound was updated pretty recently.
Great venue... staff are nice and drinks are reasonably priced...
Pretty nice spot in EAV. Went in for the Saturday open mic comedy night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Drink prices are just right and staff was doing great considering the number of people who came in for the show.
Ive been to this venue numerous times and I have never had a bad experience. The bartenders are usually pretty good with minimal wait time. I highly recommend the Jameson slushies.
I waited an hour for a drink and then there was attitude. Just kind of rude. I waited over an hour I was mad there shouldnt of been an attitude.
Before COVID, easily one of my favorite venues in Atlanta hosting the best local, touring and even obscure shows every night. Miss those great week night crowds! 😢
We went for Saturday afternoon comedy. While it was nice that it was free and everyone was very very friendly, it reeked of smoke and was grossly claustrophobic, making me and my friend rush out after the show.
Outstanding venue. The sound is great and drinks are fairly priced. No food. Its a gritty dive, but has class where it counts.
Always good live music available here. The bartenders are quick and accurate.
Well mixed loud music. Probably one of the best mix jobs for rock music in the city.Cheap beers.Jameson ginger slushies.Outdoor patio if you need a break from aforementioned loud music and want to keep drinking.
Very cool venue to see underground local and touring acts! The sound is amazing! This really is a great live music venue!🙂🙂
Cozy music and comedy venue in East Atlanta. Love the staff and the crowd is generally a younger trendy lot. Excellent place to see some of the talented and interesting people of Atlanta.
One of my favorite places in EAV. Good music and good sound, with a groovy staff. The recent renovations they did are pretty awesome, and it’s a good spot to catch local music.
529 is a cool go to spot in east Atlanta. They always have an eclectic array of good music and a great atmosphere. The staff is top notch. Do yourself a favor and go catch a show!
I went here not knowing what to expect & im happy I did. Live music, great crowd, & good drinks. The only reason I didnt give it a 5 was, because there wasnt alot of room inside
I went on a Monday night, so there wasnt much of a crowd. Its a good place to see a small band to close. Small venue, but LOUD music
So much fun, great place that I hang out with my Son. Great Shows, and fun bands like Sad Fish! Had a blast with the young ones!
Learn to pick up the phone its 2020 make a website no wonder this place is deadEdit years later: ey they have a website now, I still think the people running it are angsty and weirdly upset with idk existing
Its definitely the smallest venue Ive ever been to since it was the first time Ive seen Calabrese and Jucifer. the sounds isnt too bad but it has some charm to it.
Drinks are cheap. Staff is fun and efficient. They have a really diverse and interesting mix of clientele. Will return (in the next couple hours probably)
Great local bar and music venue. Cheap beer and surprisingly friendly staff. It’s smoky if that’s not your thing.
Great spot. Decent beer selection with good prices, great staff, great shows, and a walk up window to order your favorite beverages from their patio.
Great intimate venue. Bands were great. Psychic Death, The Difference Machine and Upchuck! Upchuck was really great!
This is a great dive bar for some premium live music. The booking agent does a great job of bringing in very interesting stuff!
My home away from home and I dont even drink! 529 has Atlantaa longest running show up / go up comedy open-mic. Every Saturday at 4:20 PM you can see some of the citys best comics (and newcomers alike) try out their newest comedy nuggets.
Local haunt for up and coming bands from local faves to national acts and international touring groups. Cheap drinks and highly air conditioned. An Atlanta treasure.
First time in East Atlanta Village. Loved the energy of the community except for the persistent beggars working the streets...529 was a really open venue with a great vibe. The Ancient Void completely filled the space with very clean OSDM.
Always a vibe. Love their little patio and the upgrades they made to the venue are top notch.
Very smokey and uninterested bar tender. I didnt stay for live music which I guess is the main feature of the venue. After a few minutes waiting to get served at the bar I left when the smoke got too much.
Always a good vibe inside or out. Expect to see familiar faces of you frequent EAV. Always friends nearby! Try out a James and ginger slushy on a warm summer night.
Great space for a concert after they opened it up. Bar is very reasonably priced. Bartenders were great.
Bar is eh. The music on the other hand is great. They showcase talents from across the city and nation. Def worth a visit.
Cozy bar. If you are lucky enough to get a seat at the bar you will enjoy 529. I visited on a Thursday afternoon and had numerous quality conversations while drinking 529s reasonably priced libations.
Fun, hipster bar and music venue in EAV. Saw an Atlanta punk rock band called SMALL deliver big!
Cool little place to go hear great local bands. The staff is friendly and great bartenders
Great shows. Ive enjoyed every live performance Ive seen there.
Small bar, small venue. Great for up close band watching.
Always a blast. The best booking in the city with a brand new light/sound system. Sounds/looks heavenly
Great service, friendly bartender. A nice little venue, cant go wrong with drinking and entertainment
Loudest venue in Atlanta in my opinion. Very small but intimate. Bring ear plugs if its a metal band.
Crazy low beer prices, great venue, good music. Had a good time when I was here.
Love this place and the bands they put on! Drinks are good and pretty cheap for the area.
Total dive. The staff are pretty surly but I suppose thats part of the vibe. I can see why its popular with locals. Other than the decor its a typical bar.
Enjoyed the drinks and it was a nice atmosphere 👌 Great music too!!
Great dive bar. Good drinks. Good place to see live music.
Divey and full of smoke. An awesome venue for shows, but be prepared for the cigarette stench, and get ready for a shower after.
One of the best music venues in Atlanta
My favorite place to see a show. Bar staff is awesome and the drinks are inexpensive.
Love this dive! One TV that never plays sports. But no worries, youll love this spot. Check it when in EAV.
Sick dive bar. Great love music. Friendly bartenders
Had a great time at the rock show. Everyone was kind and helpful. Thank you!
Excellent spot in East Atlanta! Great staff and sound and nearby The Earl if you ever need to get some food!
Came to catch 16 Bars perform. Awesome intimate venue with great drinks and great service.
Awesome bartenders, great atmosphere, best acts. I love this place.
Best bar in EAV to see a cheap, quality show. Never had a bad time here.
Definitely one of the smallest bars Ive been to. I love the walk up order window.
I was thoroughly entertained by Damgerfeel Newbies and Jitwam.
The owner is awesome, the live shows are great and prices arent bad at all!!
Vibes weren’t good, drinks were bad, won’t be coming back .
I spent more nights here in my 20s and 30s than in my own bed 😜
Such a warm cozy atmosphere! Love the live bands!
I went here to see a friend and the band. Nice place its cool.
Awesome show! Congrats to Breathers on their new album!
Love 529 for local and up and coming touring acts - its a great place to see a live show.
I have lots of fun at shows here. Nothing but good times at this place!
Nice spot with awesome folks working it. Great shows with great sound!
Played a show there, great staff and venue 🙂
My favourite small venue for new music in Atlanta. Whisky slushies... Yum
Dope chill spot with good drinks
Just left from the Kero Kero Bonito concert. The bartenders were absolutely fantastic and welcoming.
Gorgeous new stage area! And the patio is where its at in between songs!
Favorite venue in ATL. New stage! Great sound! Good job!👍
Amazing dive bar with great music and awesome bartenders.
Intimate hipster dive. Id give them three more stars if they kept the smoking outside.
My husband fell off his chair and nobody helped him
GREAT HIDEAWAY HIP HOP BAR..Y CUZIN CRIMEAPPLE PERFORMANCE WAS OUT OF THIS LYRACYST WORLD!!!
Love the addition. Great place for music and drinks
Im more of a smokey low light bar kinda gal if you catch my drift. Lol
Tiny venue that hosts some of the best bands in the city or nationwide.
Decent bar but many of the artists that play are kinda mediocre.
Great vibe. A nice, small local venue.
Cheap drinks, good music, great people.
Great venue for music. Everyone was so kool
Had a great time here!! Music was terrific!!
Very clear sound set. Reminds me of the stages in lower Manhattan NY
Great shows in a small intimate venue.
Extremely intimate bar and music venue with a patio.
Cheap beer, good music. Simple and effective
Basic dive bar with music. Nice patio, cheap beer.
Deff a old school punk bar feel to it! It was good.
Very limited beer selection. But very nice staff.
Great place to see local original music.
They have punk rock shows there.
Small space. Service is ok. Nothing to complain about, nothing to rave about either.
Cool place I was there for the A3C festival and its nice place
Local Music at its best. Cant be beat.
Cool spot, not bad to meet up and chill outside
One of my favorite places to see shows.
Go to a dive show here, you wont regret it
I like the new layout. Kind of tripped me out at first. And no one was smoking inside!!
Strong & intimidate venue. Recently expanded with a second bar!
Pat the bartender plays awesome tunes!
Fun, hip place. Nice outside seating
Chill bar, good small music venue
Awesome place but it has a terrible single toilet bathroom situation.
Paladin was amazing as usual!!! Great show!!
A little tight but great intimate experience overall
Always a good time. Great service and good prices…
Good sound pumpin in that facility.
Cool little spot, cant wait to check it out again.
Great beers on draft on the patio or inside in the heart of East Atlanta
Good drink prices awesome digs
It was cozy place to hangout and have a drink.
Great service and awesome entertainment.
Perfect dive bar to watch some ridiculous stand up comedy.
I fell asleep on the venue floor. I was tired and my house burned down
Bring ear plugs! Mine are still ringing... 😂
Great little joint. Awesome location.
The sound system is insane! Live gigs sound massive!
Small dive bar with a small venue in back. Allows smoking
Owner manager makes this place one of the coolest in EAV
Great small-cap venue in East Atlanta.
Small, friendly, good drink prices
Way better sound than youd expect!
Great place for an album release!
Small, but good music!
Fun venue
Best got dang bar in the village
Killer rock n roll dive bar.
Great fun, great music!
529 is a great place, really good shows.
No food but good bar
