2.67/5 Theres a first for everything and unfortunately, Pound! manages to earn the title for most disappointing spot on Main St. Very unlike the other restaurants in this area. Southwest egg rolls are the only part I can give credit. To call my entree Caribbean Jerk Chicken is an absolute disgrace. Not only did this taste like the kind of chicken stir fry you get at a cheap takeout restaurant, but it was worse. Experienced major buyers remorse over this and wont return. Stick to the basic stuff like fries and sandwiches or youll be doomed.
What can I say? This place never disappoints. Between the honest kindness from the staff, and the killer food, Id say this is one of my favorite places to eat, especially in the summer on the roof top patio. Thanks Pound! For always treating us weirdos good. The servers who were just amazing are Madelyn and Drea (hopefully spelled correct)
Thank you Kendra for your excellent service. We were all in awe of your ability to take on the entire rooftop (solo) like a boss! Anyone who can manage dinner rush with ease, without writing anything down, is my kind of server! The Pound gets a 10/10 for hiring good talent, the food was great and we loved the view! Chatting with Hope on the way out was also a plus. My 20-something daughters are looking forward to checking out the nightlife version of the the place. Thanks for the info and an overall great night with family!
Im not exactly a socialite so i dont go to meet people however i know for a fact that it is an excellent place to do so. I always get a couple margaritas and watch what ever sports are playing or just sit and think, no matter what i always get treated very kindly though. I usually go on Friday or Saturday, they bring in a DJ and open up the floor for dancing in the evening i think around 10pm. I dont dance but judging by the amount of people that do, it shouldnt take long to find someone to dance with. Normally i just get a few drinks and grab my fishing poles to catch buzz and a few bluegill, carp, and pike across the street in the mill pond. The bouncers there are also very nice (I dont cause problems so i wouldnt know how nice they are if you do) and there is multiple of them for everyones safety. They card everyone, even if youre bald and obviously over 21 like myself so thats nice. It seems like a younger crowd but Ive seen ages 21 to 70 there. There is a roof top that has another bar, Ive never been up there late night but if youre not a clumsy mess with stairs and drinking it seems like a chill place to cool off. I think the kitchen closes around 9-10 pm but i usually just go to drink a few with the boys before fishing after midnight.
Greeted at the door with a genuine smile. I could tell Hope, our server, enjoys her job. Bubbly, informative, and very attentive, Hope made me feel welcome. The food was very good. The place was clean and well lit without overdoing it. Plenty TVs for sports. Id go back with a smile. In case I didnt make it clear, Hope is a great server with a very good attitude.
It was really busy because it was the Taste of Brighton weekend, and somehow we still received excellent service and the food was delicious. My friend and I really loved the spinach and artichoke dip- it was top notch! The burgers were excellent, and there was not one disappointed person in our 7 person party. We will be going back, again and again!
Arrived there on a Sunday about 1 PM. The upstairs patio was closed and the place was pretty empty and there was only a few people at the bar. The hostess met us at the door and sat us quickly in a booth. The waitress came over, and she was very polite and friendly. We ended up getting the pretzel sticks that I did not get a picture of that came with a white cheese sauce, which was very good and we also ordered a few drinks.I ordered the pound burger and we also got a meat lovers pizza. The pizza was just OK, and no complaints from my 10 year old but I thought it was pretty doughy. The burger was decent, but it had a signature sauce on it that was very strange. It wasn’t bad but it had like a mayonnaise, mustard chipotle taste to it. I would suggest to get that sauce on the side and try it before. It’s already on the burger. We also got a chicken Caesar wrap that I did not get a picture of and that was also just OK. It was not a bad experience, but nothing that would make me want to come back and spend the money. In total with tip it was about $90 for lunch.
I cannot remember her name but she was blonde. She was the best server I’ve ever had. The food was amazing and service was fantastic!!! I recommend the chicken Caesar wrap and sweet potato fries! The chia and salsa were also good but on the sweet side. Definitely plan on coming back :)
I have got to say I didnt like my experience.. it was Saturday night.. we bought 4 drinks .. it was about 1:30 am and then the bouncers started yelling at people that it was time to go.. they were closing. It wasnt even 2 AM yet and it was very uncomfortable. I didnt have a chance to finish my drink. I will not go back, there are plenty of other places in town to spend money. Oh, lastly... It appears that they close whenever they want.
We assumed this place would be good because there were a lot of people on the roof and in the bar but the main restaurant had no one, that should have been a sign.Even with two hostess and a waiter that was chitchatting with them, we waited over 15 minutes before our drink order was taken. Our waitress spilled our water, not an issue at all, she was fine and cleaned it up and was apologetic about it. But that gives the overall vibe of how things were to go.A boy brought out nachos to our table, we didnt order nachos, and he spilt the salsa all over the table. Is the table cursed? He didnt bother to clean it up. We had to ask the waitress to clean it up.Food was reheated frozen bar food, Mac and cheese was cold, atmosphere was bad and the staff around us other than our waitress was terrible. The bartender was flirting with a group of guys the entire time we were there. If theres a lot of people here dont let it fool you. Dont come here.
Excellent place to dine in Brighton! All the better that their patio is super pet friendly and great for dogs! Food is excellent, drinks are stellar and the staff is very friendly. Service is also very fast. Easy to park and get to even with the massive construction project, just park in the public lot behind Jezebels.
I give this place 2 stars because of the outside roof deck seating. Our drinks were very weak (in my opinion short pours) and the Rubin sandwich I had was very skimpy on the meat. When I complained about the weak drinks, the waitress (nice kid) told us the manager said they would be happy to add more vodka if I paid for it. Not going back. Also, everything is overpriced.
My hubby and I met up with some of my college friends for dinner last weekend and we had a lovely time! Here is my break down:The Meal:I ordered the spinach artichoke dip and the margarita pizza. Hubby had breadsticks Caesar salad. As far as a bar food restaurant, the food was pretty darn good. What stood out the most were the portion sizes. My husband is 6’4’’ and eats enough food to feed an army. He was expecting maybe 4 breadsticks and a smaller side salad based on our previous experiences at other similar restaurants. His salad was large enough to be dinner itself and there were 8 large breadsticks. My pizza was massive, 16 inch, and it fed me for 3 days 😂 The pizza was delicious, especially with the balsamic glaze added on the side! My only complaint would be the chips paired with the spinach and artichoke dip. The dip itself was fantastic- cheesy, slight crisp on the top, and full of flavor, but the chips were flimsy and made scooping the dip nearly impossible since the chips would always break in half. You can order pita chips in lieu of tortilla chips, but even so I think a hardier tortilla chip would make the dish better.Service:I have very sensitive teeth (thank you braces of 7 years!!!) and can’t drink cold beverages. I always request no ice in any cold drink I order and 9 times out of 10 the server forgets. Our server was fabulous in general - prompt, kind, correctness of the orders… and it was the cherry on top that she remembered to bring me water without ice (even my refills).Atmosphere:We ate on the rooftop bar, which was a cool scene. I was thankful for the umbrella since I’m pregnant and sensitive to the heat. Inside the restaurant was nicely decorated and had a cool vibe as well. It drives nuts when I go to a restaurant and the bathrooms are dirty and just gross. Here the bathrooms were well taken care of, clean, well stocked, and spacious.Cost:For the portion sizes you receive, the price is very fair. Many places I’ve visited had similar pricing for much smaller portions, so here the restaurant thrived.Overall, if we are ever in the area while I’m having a pregnancy pizza craving, we will for sure stop by for some good eats.
Well, we came inside and we got ignored for 30 minutes and had 3 tables come in after us and get served. Obviously they are lacking in leaders and good management because it was a bunch of kids and they didn’t care about giving good service in the slightest bit. It’s a very nice building but the service and timing is awful. I’m not even being dramatic when I say 30 minutes without a drink or a menu. Do better this is completely unacceptable as a business. I am a waitress and bartender myself so obviously I am very understanding but like I said that’s unacceptable never have a I looked at a table and walked past them without severing them for 30 minutes, train your servers better have an older member on duty to keep you restaurant in check. These are basic duties when running a restaurant I would have done better if I was working there myself. What a joke lol.
Basic bar food with a really nice rooftop area and lots of TVs to watch the game. They have a reasonably decent selection of tap beers to complement the nice sports pub ambiance (I don’t recommend the mediocre cocktails). That alone is enough to make your visit enjoyable. It’s a nice place to socialize.Food is subpar (although my rosemary fries were decent), but it is ok after a couple of beers. Service is slow, but pleasant. I will likely return.
Great atmosphere and drinks. Food is good, too. We like hanging out on the rooftop and enjoying the view
Very disappointed with this place. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, everything was cold.My wife ordered something that we asked the waitress for a recommendation, a turkey sandwich with egg and cheese with fries and it was cold. The kids pizza was the only thing that was warm. Not sure whats going on because the restaurant wasnt busy at all. The waitress did not seem happy to work here, she didnt introduce herself, she almost seemed bothered that we were there. We ate the food because we were hungry and we are paying for it but other than that, dont recommend, dont let the outside igloos fool you, it looks cool but the service and food is very poor!
Came in today for lunch with a friend, first time here for us both. Place was empty, told someone we were going to sit outside. She said ok that’s fine someone will be right with you. Waited for someone to come and no one came. They went to the table behind us, they went to another table but NEVER came to us. So after waiting for more than 15 minutes we left and went to Lou n Carls. Never will I be back. Oh, the girl who spoke to us when we first arrived was just standing at the bar on her phone the whole time. I guess you guys are doing so well you can afford to loose customers. Will NOT recommend this place. Giving a one is too generous, should be ZERO!!
1st time here. Food was not good.$100 on 4 people which is the new norm but just no, Nashville chicken tasted like perfume, beer lines need to be flushed, Workers smoking cigarettes on the patio which of course came right on the restaurant as the doors and big windows were open as weather was great.
I bought a coors light bucket and at closing when I went to leave with it the ginger lookin bouncer kept snatching it saying are you going to make this an issue? And refused to acknowledge the recept I showed him. Like dude its a bucket, and I paid for it. Why do you care? I value your life more than 3 9mm rounds and a bucket, it costs nothing to be nice to people.
The food was very good. The wait time wasnt ideal, our server had way too many tables to wait on. Would have left a lower service rating if it wasnt how apologetic she was.
Awesome local spot in Brighton. I tried the Walleye sandwich, and it was HUGE! (and delicious). Subbed out the kettle chips for beer battered fries, which were hot and crispy. This place is great to grab a beer and catch the game, and is also kid friendly for families looking for a place to eat. Going to have to check out the roof top patio once it opens for the season.
I will start off saying I understand all restaurants are understaffed so Im trying to temper this review. I went there on lunch and ordered an Arnold Palmer. They had to brew the tea. It was noon. It took 20 minutes to get that. Ordered the sliders special. After waiting 40 minutes I got the photo. Burnt patties that were very tasteless. A super small portion of fries again that were lack luster. My wife got a salad that was unimpressive as well. We wont likely be back.
Nice rooftop view of the sunset. Noise level is lower than the inside area. Food was good. Sandwich was a good size portion, my wifes salad was not so generous. Beer however was served on the warm side in a plastic cup. Plastic cup is okay, warm beer is not. Service was surprisingly quick... until its time to pay the bill, but you seem to get that everywhere these days
Didnt eat there but the environment was electric. Rooftop bar with live music. Servers and bar tenders were terrific. Great bar!!!
Stopped in for happy hour $3 domestic $4 beer. Great selection bartender shared new owners we had to try. Can’t beat beer selection, beer poured great and appetizers 1/2 price hit the pickles and spinach dip both very tasty, did find out from bartender their a us foods and Gordon food service shop nothing homemade here, just frozen food, Not the best but If your in Brighton worth the stop for a beer and bite during happy hour, I wouldn’t focus on this bar for a meal other options nearby are what I would chooseReceived bill...bartender told us all microbrews $4 ...zombie dust $6 she had no comment when I asked about this....hmm
This was my go to place on the weekend until I got accused of “putting something into a girls drink”. I minded my own business and stayed to myself the whole night besides talking to a few friends and passersby’s squeezing through the bar to get another drink. Supposedly a staff member saw me “putting something into someone’s drink” I was told when security and the owner himself pulled me outside. Confused by the allegation I encouraged the owner to review security camera footage. There were multiple other people that security kicked out / had a problem with.
Stopped just to experience the geodesic outdoor seating. Ive seen it dozens of times and finally stopped in. Rain was a very helpful server.I ended up having a salad and my friend some chicken tenders and fries.Decent food. Helpful staff, and now I know a clear geodesic some is as hot as you want in the winter. Fun stuff.
Younger people will love it music food and friends what else could you ask for. Now the down side was parking,a lot of signs saying no parking or towed at owners expense.
Went in on a Saturday afternoon for my 21st birthday with my sister and sat at the bar. The bartender was super nice, joking and laughing with us, but wasnt too talkative. Had a house cocktail which was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was quiet and slow - not many other people were in there. We left right before they were about to shift into night club mode.
Titos and pineapple juice 💪Not so hidden jem! Worth the trip to beautiful dtown Brighton for the Pound every time!
We went for the gf menu items (so great that they indicate GF on their menu). We heard great things about the margarita cauliflower crust pizza. Another person in our party said that the same pizza a week before had large slices of tomato and a generous portion of basil - this time the tomatoes were tiny diced pieces barely visible on the pizza and there was also very little basil. The balsamic dipping sauce for the pizza was awesome. Wed go again, but get a different kind of pizza. Service was excellent. We love the rooftop patio and the ability to be outside, but the live music was so loud we could barely talk and the construction (not the businesses fault) was also loud. We would go back for the atmosphere and to try the food again.
Very surprised how good the food was. Definitely a cut above everybody else
I ordered the Southwest egg rolls based on the description their menu had which was black beans, corn, & chicken. When they arrived, I noticed there was spinach & peppers. I ate one and I thought I had tasted cheese, which I don’t eat. When I asked the waitress if cheese was in them, she didn’t know and had to ask. She did come back to inform me there was cheese.I didn’t finish eating them, but if they can charge for using your credit card, then they can certainly ensure their menus are accurate with the actual ingredients in the food and not wait for it to be a surprise to customers.
The food is fantastic! The wait staff is friendly. There was a DJ the night we went. It wasnt our kind of music but was nice to have somewhere to go. There are tons of screens Playing whatever sport youre into. The owner is personable and easy to get to know. Im looking forward to music on the roof in the summer.
As usual, the food was good but slow and the service was terrible. Walked in at 730, didnt get drinks until 750, then she didnt bother to take our food order at that time and came back 15 minutes later. We ordered apps and meals. 35 minutes later all of our food came out together. We asked the runner for ketchup and mustard, never came so I get up to find the server, grab it myself. Server never once came to check on us. Finally, I flagged her down at like 940 for our bill. They were maybe half full, plenty of servers. They seemed more happy to socialize than work... I barely go here because its never a good experience but I keep trying again and nothing ever changes. No management in sight unless they were also socializing with regulars instead of checking on other guests like many of the servers... Wont be back. Faster food and service at Cozy.
Very great staff! Fun and amazing atmosphere especially on Friday and Saturday nights! This is the place to be on the weekend. The best rooftop bar to go to. You MUST stop by here before michigan summer is over!
They blamed us for THEIR outdated website. F for customer service. We had never had a nad experience here since they opened. Absolutely the worst I December 23. It is OUR FAULT that YOIR menu has changed, and they were rude to long time customers. You want less business, you got i!
The quality of the food could be better, but its still good. All though the michigan salad is great! The price for food and drinks is in a good range, I believe. The roof top is obviously where it is at.We do enjoy going here.
Crispy turkey on my sandwich. Need I say more? Turkey is supposed to be tender and juicy. Thicker would be nice, but if it is going to be thin, dont fry it! If I had selected the place I would have apologized, but since it was my dining partners pick, I kept my mouth shut. His burger was not crispy. Im guessing that burgers and fries are the only safe items on the menu.
Last two times we we there, no Summer Shandy! Its on the menu!
Expected more from the food. Had the burger, chicken sandwich, and nachos and it was obvious that the patties were simply pulled from the freezer and heated. Nothing special about the menu. We sat at the rooftop bar and the atmosphere was enjoyable. I would consider going back just for casual drinks but would look elsewhere for a quality meal.
The Pound (aka Club Pound past 10PM) is a great bar to hang out at to watch the game, have some drinks, and dance in that order. My first time going here was on NYE and it was awesome. Waitresses were super attentive and kept the drinks flowing all night. Great atmosphere with a nice crowd. Keep in mind there are not many ride shares in the area so plan ahead!
We frequently eat here during the nice weather. The food is good, the roof top seating is great, and there is live music often. Its just not above the rest when it comes to the food selection. Great place to grab a little something and have some sticks with friends.**They do offer take out drinks for walking around town.
Yes! I met Craig down in islamorada Florida. He is friends with Randy and Marge from same town. Great people and would definitely call them my friends! Ps, I won 20$ last Sunday on the bears lions game and I bought shots.
I just have to say Paige who worked the roof top on cinco de Mayo was amazing! My friends and and came in for a couple of drinks and some food and she gave the best service! The food and drinks were great too! Will come again!
Food was good, a little overpriced. Took awhile for us to get a salad and chicken sandwich. Service couldve been a little more attentive, especially for a Thursday at 830pm. But overall not a bad establishment.
Visited during an event on Main Street. Very friendly and fun.
Bar staff was perfect, couldn’t ask for a better bar!
I feel like I’m piling on as there are so many very poor reviews here. The pathetic part of it is the cop-out response from the owner with a link to the Michigan Restaurant Owners site. Trust me, there are plenty of great places in Brighton with great reviews and excellent food. Try the place next door! We all get the pandemic business and the labor shortage. But when 3 people have wings and two drinks each, the bill with tip shouldn’t be $120; even if the food was perfect. Unfortunately, the food took a long time to arrive and quality of the food was poor, appeared to have been sitting around awhile. As a returning customer, this was a surprise as it used to be good there. While the service was still very good, and quite friendly, the wings were only warm, one order was delivered wrong and the guy delivering it (not the waitress) knew it and didn’t address it. The reviews reporting this level of performance go back a couple months now; long enough to show improvement. Need a manager who addresses problems. Maybe we’ll try again next year but be sure to check the prices first.
Had a large group of hockey players and their parents come in for a late lunch. Staff was fantastic and the food was delicious with extremely generous portions. Large menu with many items to chose from. Thank you for accommodating us!
Very good food. Friendly service. Clean.
I gave them my ID as i was getting a drink and the server said it didn’t look real, and he would have to have his GM take a look at it. He said the background and the bridge looked different. His GM ended up saying it was real, but seriously???😂 food was okay.. but for $50 not worth it in my opinion. the server was nice but i think he needs some training on ID’s.
Hit it up for some dancing on a Friday night. Great DJ/music, lively crowd with Lots of folks dancing, friendly table service for drinks. Definitely going back. (Cant speak to the menu, as we didnt order food.)
Not really my thing, but the server ladies are always nice and the food is good. Bouncers are usually upstanding. If you are a guy who wants to drink beer, eat pizza and wings, watch sports and get served by attractive young women this is the place. Also if you grew up in brighton schools it seems to have a portal that summons everyone you went to high school with
Austin is the best bartender and always goes above and beyond!! Will always want to come back!! Would definitely give him a 6.7 stars if i could..
Have been coming here regularly for about 6 months now. Used to be amazing service and great food but for the past 3 weeks or so the service and quality of food has deteriorated quickly. The staff has suddenly become very young and inattentive. They seem more interested in talking to their coworkers and friends than waiting tables. It’s a shame because we used to come here at least twice a week. Not any more, there are so many other great options with great service and food in downtown Brighton. I don’t know if it changed owners or managers or what’s going on but this place has gone down hill fast!!!
The burgers here used to be outstanding. Something has changed! Please change the burgers back to the way they were! Tried the burgers this past weekend and they honestly are no longer even good. The wait staff let me know that something had changed. Had to order the burgers twice in trying to get them cooked medium. They are so thin that you cannot get them anything but well done. These used to be a third of a pound Burgers, as the menu clearly states, I dont even think theyre a quarter of a pound anymore. Also, please offer brussel sprouts on the weekend!
The Pound has some amazing staff, especially its security staff which were very kind and friendly! The drinks are reasonably priced, and I absolutely love the fact that there is a floor for dancing, and a rooftop area for some relaxing conversation. 10/10, cant wait to go back.
The food was great! Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about their menu items. We were seated for 25 min before they brought our drinks.
Taco Tuesday deal is solid to go along with trivia.
Food was ok and thats all. Prices were fair but just not impressed with what we got. Sadly we left our credit card there and didnt discover it until much later. Called, had to call back the next day to get an owner, then were told they wouldnt put it in the mail but they would cut it up for us. I feel like a stamp isnt asking much but at least our bank expedited us a new one.
Had a single meal here by myself with two drinks here since the lockdown. Just want to say that food is awesome this place is good for more than just drinks.ordered a serving of one large of boneless wings, Absolutely worth the amount. As good of quality and in greater quantity of Buffalo Wild Wings. Great service with Elizabeth and the young woman who she was training was paying particularly good attention.Happily would be back for food OR drinks anytime, awesome food, awesome service.
Great food and great service! The appetizer nachos were smothered with all kinds of toppings and were delicious. The calzone was made with the most amazing dough. All of the portions were giant. We each took half of our meals home for lunch the next day. Our waitress was extremely friendly and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal.
I havent spent too much time there, but I went to a social event for my place of employment recently. The atmosphere was nice; we were outside, on top of the building. They had a decent beer selection, as well as other beverages, as well as good appetizers, and they were reasonably priced. The service was good as well.
Being new to the Brighton area, I was looking for a place that was similar to what we enjoyed in Colorado. This place was it! Very friendly staff, great service and good food.
I Was there for 10mins and was kicked out because a bartender didn’t like me..?!? I’ve never had something like this happen to me and am very confused as to how this could even happen!?! I’ve never been singled out like this and hope no one has to go through this!
Not your classiest joint but, great for beers and simple food. Their food gets pretty bad reviews. Their pizza is so so. Not the best not the worst. Their drink list and draft list were decent. I had a great time with friends here and it served its purpose for me. Nothing I would highly recommend but, seemed good for groups, friends or sports enthusiasts during the Big Game days. I wouldnt rush back but, I have nothing overly negative to say about this spot. The beer was cold, the bartenders were friendly and the food decent!
Good service, good drinks, and snacks. The atmosphere definitely changes around 10. Gets a little rowdy to say the least. Thats usually when we make our way out.
I came here this evening for the first time and was very disappointed in not only the food, and the environment, but the service. Our waitress was barely even there. She’d show up and then disappear for THE longest time. Refills took forever. She was just never around. And they were NOT understaffed. They had plenty of people, for upstairs and downstairs, no need to have been ignored for however long for a simple refill. Downstairs wasn’t even that full when we were there. Our food was sub-par, if even that. My 1/2lb burger was charred to heck and back, flavorless, not even cooked how I wanted it, barely had the cheese on it. It was a huge patty with a small piece of cheese? Didn’t even cover the patty. My fries were COLD and bland. My husband’s burger was charred more than mine he couldn’t even finish it. His sweet potato fries were cold as well. The environment was so loud. Music was blaring and I couldn’t hear my husband who was across the table from me. I had to yell to be heard. And I’ll say this now. Seeing the owner’s response to the one review that was written 2 weeks ago: how disgusting. Not even a “please call and discuss with me your problem,” but a URL link saying how “patrons need to be patient with restaurants.” The reviewer even said this was not their first experience at this restaurant and it hasn’t been good either time, before COVID as well. It was very arrogant and even pretentious to assume that this person walked into this restaurant with a bad attitude. I read that article and it’s ridiculous. One of the many, if not top reasons I will not come back and support this restaurant. You assume the customer wanted a bad experience? Give me a break. The only thing I could compliment this place on was their pretzel knot appetizer with the cheese dip. That is all.*Edit* If you notice, the response of a link from the owner to other negative reviews seems to not be here at present. Well. That’s because the owner has removed them! It was quite silly looking of them to not only respond to PAYING customers in this way, but to then delete said response. Don’t worry, though. I do have have their response saved on my phone! Still will not come back. Even after seeing them reply to customers in this way and then proceed to delete it once it’s been pointed out. Come on, guys. Do better.
Great ambience and the food is really decent. The service is wonderful. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. The best part of it all is the rooftop dining that overlooks Brighton downtown. Id make it a 4 star if the place was a bit mote cleaner.
No!!!Slow!!!Sitting at the bar for a drink is very good, but don’t order any food. The staff at the bar seem to be too busy watching the TV or flirting. We sat there and watch our food sit in the window from the grill, as the bartender walked around cleaning. The food 🥘 was good but the service is sloooow. This is not the first time we have experience this same service. This place is packed, always! Maybe it was a one-off but the experience we had was the service was slow.Hope it improves.
Chris the bouncer with a pony tail is very rude. We went in just before 8 to have dinner that we waited an hour for with reservations. My wife is pregnant and we had a group of 9 of us. He wouldn’t let her in as she didn’t have an ID. I showed a picture of her ID and her TWIN sister was there. It made us very upset and we explained we’re just there for a casual dinner. He eventually got tired of us and told us he doesn’t want to even let us in and all 9 of us had to leave. It was awful customer service and he is a very rude employee.
Ate a late lunch. Food was just ok, nothing special about the tast, size and quality. Same sysco food you can get at any chain food restaurant. Service was just ok. Ordered 12in bone wings, got 8 boneless. I believe the restaurant is mainly set up for drinks not for food. Staff interested in quantity not quality. I would avoid this place and eat at any other of the fine restaurants in down.
It was karaoke night when I visited, so it was very loud and busy.
This is a nice, neighborhood bar and grill right in the heart of bustling downtown Brighton. My bartender was extremely attentive and always maintained our drinks at the proper level. My food was good, and they had music playing upstairs on the outdoor patio which was a nice touch. The entire outdoor patio was very well done, actually, and the fact that there was a very diverse crowd was nice too. I would probably go back for drinks again when Im in town
We ate in an igloo atop the building. That was great! The food took forever though. We left almost 3 hours until the event we were going to and it took every last minute of that time. The food was good but nothing Id come back for. The staff was very nice.
Not busy but slow service. Food was ok, but quality was lacking. Had to try it once, wont be back. Town has too many better options.
I got a to go Blue Hawaiian, and it was spectacular!
The many flat screens at the Pound allowed everyone in our party to view our game of choice from our hometowns. The wide selection of draft and craft beers including Blake’s hard cider and Bell, ringing in at 15% scored points with us. Food selections were easy to choose from including Nashville hot chicken, a favorite. The Wednesday night Trivia game added to our fun. After that we played the arcade games while listening to the DJ music and making friends with some locals. We were rideshare challenged at closing time and The Pound helped us out with our dilemma. Great Place and Great People. Thanks for the memories!
Our waitress never arrived at our table. The tables were dirty and not cleaned off completely despite there being people waiting for a place to sit. The food was ok, but the shoddy service will meep me from returning.
I had the chicken pesto artichoke wrap... it was pretty good but a little dry. The chips were delicious! We participated in the mimosa bar which ended up just being different kinds of juice with your champagne, but thats fine by me! Good atmosphere and service 👍🏻😊
Awkward restaurant. No social distance. I dont really like this place at all. The waitress gave us a thing to scan idk how to use it just wanted a real menu but didnt get one. She gave me one ipad that i had to share with my friends instead of one for each of us. when i ordered i guess they didnt have what was on the menu anymore. Okay that is fine Ill just take get a couple drinks instead, drinks were meh. Bartender doesnt wear mask and i felt uncomfortable. I give 2 stars because live music is nice.
We decided to have a baby shower here on a Sunday afternoon during the day. We made the reservation two months in advance, including a set menu buffet and also a head count of 30 people. The manager did not have the reservation set up for 30 people like he said he would, there was an 8 top table available when we arrived and nowhere for us to seat our guests. They wanted us to wait for other guests to finish eating before we set up for the shower although I asked in advance if we could come an hour early to set up and this was approved. Because of this we had 20 minutes to set up and guests started arriving before we were even done unloading our cars. We ended up moving the party downstairs because there was nowhere for us to seat guests. The wait staff seemed unprepared and like they did not know how to wait on a large group. The manager also seemed very unprepared and although he communicated with me prior to the shower and told me everything was all set I was very disappointed that nothing was ready, including seating and our food. We actually were served our food on paper plates because the manager said they didnt have enough regular plates clean...We had to continuously ask for drink refills and anything extra... cake plates, silverware etc. My family that threw the shower for me actually set up the tables and chairs, were clearing peoples plates away, directing people to go up to the buffet for their food. Our experience at this restaurant was very disappointing and I will not be returning or recommending anyone else have a large group reservation there.
Hands down the best service and food I have had in a very long time. Had some wings for an appetizer and then had an Italian Calzone that I will be thinking of for the next few days. Very reasonably priced and sitting on the roof deck rounded out this perfect afternoon. Will definitely be back!!!!!!!
Wont be back. Waitress did not write down the order, so got it wrong. Food was not good. Burger was overcooked and the homemade chips were burned. California chicken might have been good if the waitress had taken the time to get the order right but well never know. To top of off, the live band asked if it was anyones birthday and when a woman stood up they said she needed to stand on the table and take her shirt off. Guess they dont care about offending anyone. Nope. Wont be back
Rooftop, of course. Food and service not up to previous standards.
Actually the taste of the food, the selections of beers, and to some extent the service all rate higher than one star. Also, in the summer the rooftop tables and bar are nice. The problem is that one cannot trust the food or the bill or anything else because management is so very obviously disdainful of its customers and that really ruins the experience. Too bad because the place really hast the potential to be great if only management were to think more about the customer experience and less about squeezing the last dime out of everything and everyone.
I can’t believe this place doesn’t have better reviews! The staff is always friendly and they have such a wide range of food on their menu. I love the salmon and goat cheese salad, and my family loves all of the burgers they’ve tried here! Plus the view on the rooftop is amazing. It’s a must do if you’re in downtown Brighton!
Did trivia on Wednesday. It was fun. They say they close at 11 weekdays but unfortunately it seems more like 10:30. Wanted to grab a beer after a long day on my Bday and they locked the doors early. I might be back
Great wings, and good food overall. Consistently slow servers who just dont see to want to be there. The bartenders are the exception, friendly, attentive, and having a good time while the servers talk amongst themselves. I like the fact that someone from the kitchen brings your food out while its hot.
Terrible absolutely terrible. Ordered Buffalo chicken dip for an appetizer 1 hour and 15 minutes later it comes with our meals. French dip and a salad an hour and 15 minutes later it comes and it’s COLD. Expressed I wanted warm sandwich and fries. She returned to say it would take quite awhile to get my food replaced with warm food. Absolutely pathetic. I will never go back.
We reserved an igloo for this past Saturday. Our server Cassidy (not sure if it was a c or k.) was the best! She juggled a lot of people on a busy night and she did it gracefully and with such a sweet attitude and demeanor! She made our night great, she truly did! She deserves some props for that! The food was good too, cant beat nachos and pizza on a cold night watching football!
Food was good but they were out of 3 things my group tried to order. Tater tots, salmon and corned beef. They were also out of onion rings. This isnt the first time members of our party went and they were out of food. It seems common place which would indicate management issues. Our waitress was kind and helpful.
I do not think I have ever been to a trashier establishment. Not only was the service awful, there is a pandemic and none of the staff were wearing masks. Bartenders were making drinks without masks on. Our waitress walked up to our table with her mask dangling from her ear. We left without even touching our drinks because it didnt feel safe. I have never written a review before, but I felt the need to put this out there. If you care about safety and sanitization during these times, do not go here. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would.
Wonderfully attentive bartenders and quick service. However, the food is precooked and what I thought was wild rice from my mustache was actually mildew from a filthy tap. Stick to bottles and prepackaged snacks and you won’t go wrong.
I enjoy the atmosphere here and the food and drinks when I dine in with friends but weve gotten carryout for lunch at work and every time we order the nachos they are cold. We thought maybe the first couple times were a fluke but its been the last 3 or 4 times in a row now including today. There doesnt seem to have even been an attempt to heat up anything on it. The nacho cheese is always thick and gross and the meat and chips are ice cold.
Tried to go and enjoy some drinks and apps with my older brother. Both ordered beers and the server was asked to take our IDs to the manager before serving us because it is policy for the manager to check out of state IDs. The manager sent the server back to us to tell us they arent comfortable serving us and the only way they would is if they called the police to the restaurant. We agreed and had to wait for the police to show up and check our IDs to confirm we had legitimate IDs. Our server was great, only her 2nd day and was trying to follow rules, but the manager didnt have the time of day to come over to our table and explain the situation or apologize after the police came. If you are from our of state, save the hassle and take your business elsewhere.
Went there this past Saturday night I had a beer my girl had a vodka cranberry or should I say a cranberry vodka Pretty horrible service all in all we ordered some pretzel bites after waiting 25 minutes we left before getting them. At any given time there were two to four people meandering around behind the bar doing squat unless you consider flirting with your coworkers an affective way to serve your customers. Anyway with all the good eateries in Brighton Id skip this one.
Not crazy about the club scene at night, its a bit too pretentious for me. During the day however, the restaurant and food is AWESOME!! They were very kid friendly and the staff was great! I had a Moscow Mule as well and it was perfect!!
Burnt chicken sandwich, small portion of sweet potato fries
The food was really good and the staff was quick and friendly. I think the prices are a bit ridiculous, but not overly expensive. Its definitely more of a bar than anything else which is probably why the prices are so high.
Stopped on way home from Detroit. Noone was there. Construction all around them!! Park out behind!Food is typical bar food. Our waitress was excellent!
We gave this a second chance after having one bad experience where they totally screwed up my daughters order and brought the wrong food. It took a long time to fix. They did not refill drinks, and had slow service. The manager apologized and gave me a $5 off coupon. So tonight we went back and had the same experience! We had slow service and a waiter that was mostly AWOL. They even screwed up my daughters order again! The food was good, but we wont go back.
I dont have any idea what the haters are talking about. This is a great vibe with great food. Definitely coming back!!!!
Kind of reminds me of wayside but I do like the rooftop
Good food, fun bartender. Not a huge beer selection, but plenty to choose from. Nice happy hour specials. Love the location, and the vibe. They have roof top, and outdoor seating as well.
If I could zero stars I would. Super slow service, wobbly table, sub par at best food. Chicken quesadilla barely any any unseasoned chicken in a tortilla with melted cheese. Some lettuce, pico de gallo and shredded cheese on the side. Weird. Michigan cherry chicken salad came out with no cherries and barely any nuts and cheese. Apparently they were out of cherries. Then don’t send out the salad!!
Friendly, good waitress, Thats it for the good part. Low Quality food, NOT cooked to order, special burger like The Hangover NOT allowed on the weekend just so they can force upcharges on an already pricey pre-built menu item. Fries were POOR because obviously double fried. Even smallest thing: onions were not sauted, they were lightly grilled. Good short order cooks deserve praise for what they are able to do, it really can be a timing puzzle, but this was EARLY lunch, there were very few orders going, the cook just was not good at his job, phoning it in. We had gone here based on someone who said pre-covid it was a place to get really good bard food. Well, today, it was overpriced and disappointing.
Good good, but burgers wasnt made how we wanted it and on the hoagie it says peppers but didnt specify and my boyfriend ended up with jalapeños. Otherwise waitress was nice and attentive. Nice place to chill.
We went to the Pound (for the first time) to sit and listen to the band they had outdoor. We ordered 4 drinks and a fried pickle. I have never had drinks so bad we could not drink at all. I was really surprised the waitress said nothing when the 4 full glasses were sitting on the end of the table where she dropped off the bill. Im not sure how a bar cannot make a drinkable simple drinks.
The bartender was awfully rude upon entering the establishment… maybe it’s because my fiancé and I are not locals… bad vibes from just her. Was also rude to her servers… it was at 3:45 on a Tuesday… Not busy…
Waitress Cassidy was under-trained. I was charged for food and drink I did not receive. She stating I was over-served and cut off and charged me for beer and a meal I never received or ordered. She asked for me to be kicked out. She must have confused me for someone else because I did nothing wrong. The bouncer was even confused on why I was cut off. I am disappointed with how management handled the issue, and won’t be back because of it.
The only thing about the order I made was that I got the Diet Coke that I ordered. I ordered some garlic cheese curds as an app and a Double POUND burger, no tomato. Now, the Pound burger is supposed to come with pepper jack cheese, an onion ring, and something they call Pound sauce all over it. My friend ordered a Salmon Avocado Wrap with onion rings. Well, when we received our meals, their wrap was pretty sparse with the salmon and avocado and was mostly lettuce, and what I was served was a plain burger with just red onion and lettuce on it, none of the stuff that was supposed to be on my burger. They completely forgot the order of cheese curds, only to have them come out well after we started eating our main meals. The guy who came out with them said that he dropped the initial order and that they had to make a new batch, which being a veteran of the restaurant industry, means we forgot. Never got asked if our meals were ok, as our waitress was suddenly absent for the entire time except when it came to drop off our bills. Now, I could have made a big stink about it, sure, but I was quite hungry so I made do with what I had. And youd think that since they dropped the ball on the chesse curds, theyd comp them. Nope, please pony up the 11.99 please. I will not be back.
The most stale and tasteless chips we have ever had. We requested fresh ones that came ten minutes later, we received a very small bowl of chips that tasted even worse. One of the very polite staff members said they didnt like them either. Our waitress was extremely unpleasant, and seemed to have a permanent scowl on her face. The hostess was very welcoming and pleasant.I have to wonder about the quality of the other food.
Very nice atmosphere, food was great
We always have a good time at Pound. Fun atmosphere for people of all ages although after about 9:30 its more of adult place (DJs and Live Music) Personally we love the fact that we can get a great pizza and and a few drinks and not have an outrageous bill which has me coming back. The staff has always been friendly and quick to take care of our orders. My little nieces ages (2 and 6) LOVE the mac n cheese and think is so cool to sit up on the roof and I could not agree with them more. Over all it its just a great place to kick back, relax, eat, and drink.
Came here for dinner with my bridesmaids. We were told by our waitress, 20 min after being seated on the patio (we did debate our seating arrangements in front of her too) that only certain menu items were available to those who chose patio seating (pizza, wings , salads and apps only) yet we saw other patrons on the patio eating cheeseburger and wraps (which they denied to our party) despite it all coming out of the same kitchen. If you want the full menu, forget about enjoying the weather and dine inside.
A meeting place mid-state on a beautiful sunny summer day. Very light and roomy. Cute, friendly waitress. No complaints about the food, Caesar salad and burger, but nothing special either.
Food was really good, actually got a good long Island ice tea. Our waitress ashley is a hottie and gives good service. Ask for ashley she a short blonde! The day we went there was a really good band playing they have upper and lower outdoor seating. I sat by window and laughed at all the people Churching up fanny packs lol, really the fanny pack is back 😂 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Still to this day the top and bottom are not connected and they dont tell you nor is it posted. So if want Taco Tuesday, its only available downstairs which makes no sense.. Not to mention they tell you its not available after you ordered drinks that can only be paid for up top.. They really need to get it together. Prices have gone up and its a bunch of children serving. Food is decent tho.. 2 stars.
I have been to this establishment several times and I always have a good time at the POUND ! I could not give a food review as I only go to this place for the DJ , drinks and dancing . Besides the kitchen closes early .The only thing about this place is the service is not great probably because this place is always busy . I love the POUND 💷
The pound is a local gem. The food is magnificent and the staff does a great job. My wife and I come here often for dinner and will continue to come in the future. Their rotating game burger (different every month) is always a good choice. Try this place out for a casual inexpensive night out.
Stopped in on a Monday night after Livingston County Firefighter Training Academy Ceremony. It was around 8:30 PM and a group of us stopped in to celebrate afterwards and get some much needed food. Took 45 minutes just to get water to the table, and 55 until I was told the coffee machine was broke ? Ok, I like to think I have patience and its not the waitress fault so I go with water like most others. I only stated I would be upset with her if she was the one that broke it :) . We could all tell this girl was new and we have all been the deer in headlights at one job or another. She was polite as could be and doing her best. So we ordered our food finally and waited. She had come to the table about 3 times stating the food was coming right up. I ordered a pizza, so I know it will be a few minutes anyway. 2 burgers, and a salmon wrap. Another hour goes by and I finally state if its not coming out I need to get us moving so we can eat as we still had a good drive home and would like to get moving. We were there 2 hours and food finally arrived after explaining we needed to go.All but my wifes wrap. At this point we were on the roof, and mind you we were wet from the rain at the ceremony. No fault of theres, however were now cold wet and been waiting for hours for food. We asked for a few boxs as we were leaving and the wife still had not received her wrap (Something I feel is most easy to put together)She came with the boxes and kept apologizing about the wait and she knew it was wrong. She stated she talked to the manager a couple times and they were aware, however there was nothing she could do. I explained to her I never asked to have anything off the bill, as we just wanted to eat at that point we were all in agreeance it was time to go.Again she stated the manager knows but there is nothing she can do. She was as nice as could be, and could tell it bothered her. No fault at all on this newer server, she did her best. I explained to have a manager should have come up and explain what the issue was, or at least apologize. That is the managers job. We had 19 people show up, and I know thats quite a few all at once. However the first table of us have ate at this point and were leaving before we were ever served.Part that bothered me is just tell me its going to be 2 hours to get anything to the table and let me make my own decision. I would have passed this time and maybe tried them again later some time. And to have the manager be a no show for the new girl was just bad business. The food was ok after getting home to eat it, and I tipped as I always do. The girl did her best. However I cant speak to the manager as they couldnt even take time to speak with us knowing there was an issue that lasted hours.Wont be back needless to say, and I feel bad as I also have a local business and we are trying to do as much local business as we can in these Covid lockdown days.Outside the wait the staff seem friendly and did what they could. Although the food was cold when we ate it, it seemed ok. (Sure it was better hot?) I just feel communication on something thats going to take them hours is nice to have to make a decision. If I planned to hang out for a few hours it may have been different, but 2 hours is still too long for food.Just my 2 cents... Hope your experience goes better. I hate leaving a negative review and normally never do, but I hope it helps them realize what is happening and they have a chance to correct it.
Great place to go on a nice summer night. Sit on the roof top and enjoy drinks and food. Had a chicken wrap that was amazing.
The rooftop patio is a wonderful spot on a summer eve! The team at The Pound! is great, and the food is terrific. If you want the full menu, which includes an amazing salmon and goat cheese salad. Note there is a festival menu, and some of the great selections may not be available but there are tons of great choices!
Loved sitting on the roof and having a few drinks and an appetizer... Bar staff was friendly. Its like being on vacation when sitting on the roof.
Great waitress couldnt have asked for better sophia did a great job. I wish I could have her every time. The security is a bit much maybe should settle down a little, I didnt even order a drink and got ID. BUT Sophia did an awesome job on serving and providing a great at time for me and guest. Im gonna ask for her every time!
This is the 2nd time we have dined there, and it was just awful !although I will tell you the service is 5 star this time around the food was horrible the chair I sat was broke the legs fell out .. The 1st time the staff was not good except for the waitress, but I gave them another another chance and again the 2nd time the food was awful and the chair again it broke was very dangerous. The Buffalo macaroni was awful!
Love the idea of rooftop seating on a sunny summer day but this place cant make it nice. Tried it twice. Food menu is basically a boxed lunch. All the beers you want are available....just not up there. Get it together dudes!
Amazing how you can put your name and phone number in to be called and they never call. It is truly amazing that the person taking my husbands phone number stated she had no idea when a table would be available. So sad to see a half way decent bar and grill do down the toilet. There are plenty of restaurants that want our business.
We had pizza. The appearance of the pizza was spectacular and we couldnt wait to bite into it. But when we did, Change your cheap imitation cheese with real mozzarella, and you will have a winning recipe. The waitress was great.
Great food and great service ! The owner Craig is always present and willing to help with either running food or helping grab drinks! Austin and gabe the bartenders are always prompt and greets me with a smile! 5+++++ stars for this place !
It was ok. They no longer serve the one pound hot dogs which is where the name came from iirc. I had the Buffalo mac and cheese education was pretty tasty. We sat on the roof, and it was nice to watch the traffic go by, although a bit chilly as it was night time. Our server was great, but we were not okayed to hear the taco bar was no longer offered, even though it was on the menu. Regardless, it was still decent enough and I will plan a trip back here in the future.
Food was okay, rooftop was very nice, silverware was so dirty looking that I didnt want to use it, they gave me another set that was just as bad....meanwhile a sour faced waitress did not move from her post holding up the counter...and could have been cleaning some silverware, details are important. Our waitress did not know parts of the menu items we asked about. seems a little lacking in effort with things in general. I would try another place if you have the option to do that.
The waitresses decided to find me and my friends on Facebook just to tell us that we are trashy people and that our tips were not good enough. Which though out all five of us we all left a 5 dollar tip or more and we werent even there for an hour. Good food but horrible service.
I didnt have food there . Great fun sporty bar . More for people in their 20s and 30s. Can watch sports many TVs. Went back had chicken strips very good
The Pound is just plain dirty. We stop in from time to time to sit on the upstairs patio, but would NEVER eat there. The bathrooms are always disgusting, the service bar area is dirty, and many of the employees are often standing around using their phones instead of tidying up their work areas. I was completely grossed out by the trash can upstairs that looks like its never been wiped down and the wall behind it had food splattered all over it. And to top it off, you can get happy hour prices downstairs, but not upstairs. You can walk down and get it yourself though if you want. How dumb.
The reason I did not comment immediately was because I wanted to give myself time for an accurate review. The service was great. Food was over priced and just not good. Hope that helps
Just recently went the food was horrendous ordered a spicy chicken sandwich n sweet potato n coleslaw n chicken wrap n small pizza n salad needless to say the pizza had burned cheese on it the spicy chicken sandwich was disgusting it was served on a personnel size pizza dough n the chicken was nasty n overloaded with vinegar n the coleslaw had chunks of the cabbage hard center mixed in it needless to say I couldnt eat it n my granddaughter only had one slice n didnt finish it.We have been here before but this was the worst even our server said it was over bearing with vinegar
Got there with my two kids at 6:30, and wasnt seated until 7:45. Ordered everything all at once because it took so long to get seated and we never anything we ordered it until we asked our waitress if it was ready. Got the kids lemonades at 8:25 after asking for them repeatedly. When our youngest was falling asleep because it took so long, we asked about his food specifically, and she brought his meal immediately... but no one elses. At around 9:15, with only about ten other tables filled in the restaurant, we asked if the rest of the family could get their food to go, which was brought to us almost immediately in to go boxes, quite cold. She never even brought us our side salads! So, if you are hoping to eat when you go to a restaurant, Id recommend choosing another place.
Blonde Waitress was extremely rude, friends went to the bathroom and she brought the tabs saying “I’m done serving that bitch” asked her what happened and said she rolled her eyes at her? Asked her what we could do to fix it as it must’ve been a misunderstanding and she said nothing since I have to be here till 2am and she’s done serving us and need to leave. Even had the audacity to add gratuity to our bills even though it wasn’t over $100 or a party of 8 like their menu says. Manager basically shrugged it off and wanted nothing to do with it.
We are a sucker for the roof top seat as well as the downstairs open air seating when available. The place has a good set of bar food and pretty good pizza and wings. It always nice on a Sunday afternoon to sit upstairs and just people watch.
We experienced very bad service. Our server (with whom never mentioned his name) made mistakes with our order, never came by after our food was delivered, and forgot about our to-go order. He seemed more interested in conversing with his friends at the bar, and the place wasnt even that busy. The food was ok, basic bar food of burgers and sandwiches. Needless to say we will not return.
Horrible! Food took over an hour to get to us. Was busy when we come in but had cleared out by the time our food came. 1 meal wasnt cooked all the way. Drinks were good, and server was as well just disappointed in food.
Sat on roof for my b day because I like The Pound atmosphere and food. Our server Shannon had a bad night and it rolled into mine. She got our drinks wrong to start, got wrong sides with meal (and never got corrected after asking twice) and then the bill showed the upcharge for the sides we didnt get and an 18% automatic gratuity (for 4 people???).I like this place is the only reason this experience didnt get 1 star
Lots of potential. But, not impressed enough to stop back. Asked about food on the roof upon entry, was told we could. Finally seated upstairs and awaited a waitress to find out they only do the regular food menu. Went downstairs and directed to patio seating where we were then left my the waitresses after asking about the possibility of food.
The atmosphere was good with a DJ playing music but the drinks were lacking quality, especially the draft beer. It almost felt like there was too much water. The cocktails were nice, as I was told by the ladies. It was a nice vibe, party like with lots of young people.
Four of us went to The Pound for dinner last night, Tuesday,May 25th.The service was slow and it took over an hour to receive our meals. When the meals arrived, three of the 4 were ice cold. The 4th meal was a salad. The waitress took the cold meals back to the kitchen. It took quite a while to get the meals back.A Calzone came back burned and black.Between the service, quality of food and timeliness, this visit left much to be desired. Not sure that we will be back anytime soon.
Went with my husband. The food was okay, but we waited over 30 minutes for it on a slow Thursday night. We had bothed finished sipping our drinks nefore we got oir food. Our server walked past us multiple times after we finished our food and didnt acknowledge us. When we tried to ask a different server for our check he ignored us. We finally asked the bartender and only then did our server acknowledge us and get it. The tots were good, but not worth going back.
Food was pretty good over all, we happen to be there on trivia night that was kinda fun. Was busy and packed, smaller place. Its a bar so it was loud. Drinks were pretty good as well
I had a large order of bbq wings to go (my Wife picked up). As I was eating them I noticed I kept getting an undertone flavor of something else. After about 1/3 of the way through, I came to the conclusion it was onion ring that I was tasting, which tells me a bigger issue at hand. The oil in the fryer is not being cleaned as often as it should be or isnt being cleaned good enough. With this being my first experience I can safely say I shall not be back.
Literally the old Frankies of Garden City. Ive lived in Brighton my whole life but if you ever had the unfortunate pleasure of going to a Garden City douchey bar, and you for some reason enjoy them, then look no further! The Pounds new owner has absolutely destroyed the menu, the staff if even old enough to serve need some serious training and management. The only good thing is the 18 yr old inexperienced bartenders usually over pour and I really dont even think they care. The ONLY reason they get any business is because of all places in Brighton, people who have no clue on how to run a bar, runs the only bar in town with a rooftop. What a waste of an awesome space! Been in the industry for 20 plus years and every time I sit for one overly charged drink due to the upcharge if you sit on the rooftop (be aware fyi), I cant believe to this day how seriously s#itty that bar still continues to be. Whats the record for how many times the police have been called to the Pound due to fighting!? Something like over 100 times in 2017 and the numbers still stay high for such an unfitting establishment in our more prominent Brighton area. Get some management, train your staff, throw away the frozen patties, have competitive prices with properly made drinks and maybe theyll earn some respect. Id rather eat at Ginopolis and that isnt saying much nor a compliment. Js
Fried chicken sandwich is just a piece of frozen chicken baked or maybe fried. Pizza not good. They charge 18 bucks for a large...frozen dough used...sauce meh. Good place to have a few drinks...maybe fried pickles...then move on.
Gluten free options are clearly marked on the menu. The dishes were presented well, and everyone loved their food.
Very very slow service for lunch time. Have fish allergies made staff aware but must have been contaminated because mouth broke out and was raw for several days. Im sure its good for people without allergies. Staff was friendly.
Amazing food, incredible staff. Highly recommend. Five stars all day! Definitely coming back.
We sat outside and people watched on a beautiful summer evening. Staff was attentive to our needs. The food was good. The beer was cold and delicious.
I felt the place had a great outdoor feel with an awesome, sometimes felt overworked, waitress! Great Sashimi Tuna Salad. Beers were a little bit NOT so crafty. Will be back for sure...
We went there because my sister was in town and my friends, husband and I were showing her a good time. We started at Stout, where we spent the majority of the night. There was trivia and it was a really fun time. Then we popped over to Lu and Carls for a drink before stopping at The Pound last. Our waitress was rude and when half of our group went outside for a cigarette, they locked the doors on us! It wasnt even close to closing time yet! They finally let us back in after ignoring us for a while because they finally realized (the morons) that we had open tabs to pay. But then kicked us out and closed well before their hours of operation dictate. This is the last time I try this place. I keep ending up there every once in a while even though its a horrible time every time. I hear the food is still good.. But as for the nightlife, bad. The management is a joke. I constantly hear stories of fights happening there, girls getting taken advantage of and a lot of other sketchy things. All the other bars in Brighton are better than this place.
If it wasnt a Groupon it would not have been worth it. The server had no emotion whatsoever! I requested my meal to be prepared a certain way. I got it and it was not right then informed her and she looked at me like it was my problem! I got it back, it was fine then I settled up the bill. She handed it to me with this blank look on her face and said here....not a thank you or any type of acknowledgement whatsoever! I tipped normally in spite of this but will never go back nor recommend.
Been to this bar a number of times in the last year. I have always had great food and great service! The atmosphere is alway friendly and wait staff is great. I love the open deck in the summer time. Food portions are very generous. I would recommend this place to anyone. Thanks!
Great service & staff. I love their nachos. Its as big as a large pizza so you can share. We are a family of 5 so its just enough for us.
Gluten free options are few, but available, and Ive yet to get glutened. The servers are friendly and attentive. Live music on the rooftop patio is a great bonus and our favorite artist is AJ Lynn.
If I could give 0 stars I would! Absulte worst service out of every bar! The skinny blonde waitress was more worried about getting laid then serving the people when i said something to the waitress she said nothing to me and looked the other way! Awul! Do not go to this place it is not worth your time! You get better food at a fast food place! Such a shame this place is im Brighton needs to be shut down! Worst bar to go to around brighton! Do not go here!!
Its overpriced and the service is always poor. Girls behind the bar text more than they work and the D bag manager is always trying to flirt with the waitresses even when its busy. Literally every time, go in see for yourself. This bar is popular for its location so it seems as if they dont really care about service or losing customers.
Got the pound burger and was awesome! We rented an igloo which was heated, and is the only thing you can do to dine in during covid. The poutine was awesome along with the chips and salsa. I will definitely be there again.
The experience here was great! The food was delicious and fast, the live band was awesome, and of course the vibes. There isnt a bad seat in the house. I cant wait to come back!
I come here a lot. Having said that I do not eat the food. Every visit is a case study in food safety violations. Start with the guy in the kitchen with the huge beard and curly hair and no netting. But if you want to party on a Friday night this is a great spot. Hard to screw up vodka.
Really like the pound! Emily is a awesome server! When i got there she said we dont have any Summer Shandy yet. I said do you have any fruity flavor beers. She had we have a IPA ahe gave me a sample! It was awesome! Fyi i hate IPAS
Terrible service. I went there for my 21st birthday and asked the bartender what their special were. Her response was, I hate that question, we dont have any specials. I had been 21 for literally 60 seconds and I could not believe how poor the service was. The bartender could have handled the situation a lot better. Instead, I will NEVER spend another penny at The Pound. There are plenty of other bars literally within walking distance. You would think that will all the competition, The Pound would try to improve on their service and management, but instead, they just lost what could have been a loyal customer.
We were sat outside on a Tues night went inside to get my own beer, still no server! We finally waved someone down even though they walked past us three times. Order wfrom a server that had an arm full of dirty dishes. Food came, not hot! Ordered a beer, never did get it, but was charged for it. The excuse was they were short staffed (tell us before we order)!Normally a great place, maybe just a bad night.
Are you kidding me? We went down town tonight to have a nice family dinner. We noticed that a band was setting up in the middle of main st. So we decided to grab an outdoor table at the Pound. Big mistake. We sat down and asked for waters while we looked over the drink menus. The server came back 10 minutes later asking if we were ready to order without our waters. We ordered drinks assuming she would bring waters with them, not so. We asked for them again and ordered an app. When the app came we asked again for our waters and ordered food. Waters finally came. Food came out and they didnt bring my dau f hters food, she didnt ring it up and couldnt remember what she ordered, ok, I asked for another beer. Daughters food comes out 10 minutes later, she asked if we need anything else, I ask for my beer again she says sure. 35 minutes.. 35 MINUTES goes by without her even coming back from the table. We watched her stand around inside and drink her Redhill, looking at her phone and talking to co workers. We were frustrated and her two other tables were frustrated. We had to ask abother server to grab ours for us. She never apologized, never asked us how she could fix it. Just said have a good night.$70 later, we wont be coming back.
We waited over an hour for our food. The restaurant was busy. I am ok waiting - however, the communication needs to be managed better. The hostess and the waitress should have leaned into the wait expectation when being seated.
Rhea our waitress was great, she provided excellent service and make us feel welcomed. would definitely request her as our waitress next time! food was also very good.
Ate here Friday evening while attending the Brighton Fine Art & Acoustic Music Festival. Didnt wait long for a table on the roof. Ordered fried pickles and cheese bread. Waitress asked if we wanted those as appetizers, we said yes. Ordered a pizza as our entrée. No glass on the roof, so our pops were in disposable plastic cups and the ice melted very quickly. We waited and waited and waited...no pop refills. Finally, the pizza came...no fried pickles, no cheese bread. I asked the guy who brought the pizza to cancel them. Waitress finally came back - You never got your pickles and cheese bread?!? Um, no. Oh, its because were so busy with the festival. There were a few empty tables on the roof so it wasnt THAT busy. Still no refills on the pop. Wife had to ask for one. Ate my pizza while drinking the same small, watered down Cherry Coke. No offer to take any money off the meal other than to not charge us for the food we didnt get. 10, 20% would have been nice for the screw-up.Pizza was great, rooftop atmosphere was great, service was pretty terrible.
A nice place for a casual meal. My husband and son love the burgers. I find the place a little dark, but Im sure that helps with viewing sports on the TVs. I love the rooftop eating area in nice weather.
Stopped by on the way back from Detroit to try something new. Waitress was clueless and more interested in staff than what was going on with our cold and overcooked food. She also acted as if we were a major inconvenience sitting in her section. It was before the dinner rush on a Sunday after the Lions game. My grandfather was originally from Brighton so I thought wed pay tribute to him by stopping to see some of the town he called home for years. It seemed like a nice little establishment with a small town feel, but we were disappointed to see we could have got better food at McDonalds. Will make sure to drive on by next time.
