Came here to see FIDLAR for the first time. It was an unbelievable set and a great opening act, which ended up being a local group. The line moved fast, and it felt spacious. I don’t recommend paying for the VIL seats at this venue. They don’t offer a considerably better view for the price, unless you just want to sit.I will note that they should reinforce their rails around the VIP area. I do not advise standing next to them unless you’re tall if you’re seeing a show where there will be moshing. They were very unstable, but still made me feel secure versus nothing being there.I do wish the stage was up higher, or the floor be a little more at an angle for viewing purposes. For the price of most of the shows here, I can’t complain too much!

Another soulless LiveNation venue. So you know what to expect: a bad drink selection, served by unfriendly staff, for eye watering prices. Enjoy your $16 tall boy which will be undrinkably warm before you can finish it!The venue itself has a straight forward layout, but be warned that the seated VIP section was all the way against the far back wall. Glad we didnt opt for it. In the picture below Im at about the halfway point from the stage so you can get an idea of how far back youd be.To its credit, the venue sounded really good!

Very organized! Standing in line staff came around checked ID’s gave out a wristband for over 21 & then X if under 21, at Security checkpoint in front of me the staff confiscated an underaged girls vape (thanks to the venue for following the laws), the area & bathrooms was clean, I upgraded my experience to the VIP which was an elevated viewing area to the side of the stage with chair & table, while I was keeping an eye on my teenager & his friend having fun in the center at their show 10-15’ in front of me. NEVER AGAIN. Second time coming here and both times security up front have been absolutely hateful and disrespectful right off the bat without reason. Im not exaggerating when I say going through TSA at the airport is quicker and less stressful. Really put a damper on the night before even entering the show.Secondly, drinks are so ridiculously overpriced that two will exceed the price of admission. Absolutely unacceptable. The venue was also incredibly hot to the point that my friends and I unfortunately had to leave halfway through the show because it was just too miserable. And be prepared to pay for parking in addition to the price of a ticket, ticket fees on top of that, and the price gouging if you happen to want a drink.Lastly, dont step outside for any reason whatsoever, even one foot away from the door or you wont be let back in and be treated like a criminal in the process. This hasnt been an issue at other venues and Ive been to shows all across the country. The only positive things I can say about the place is that the sound quality is good and theres plenty of space.Ill never return to this venue and I encourage others to avoid it like the plague. Make the drive to a better spot to see your favorite bands or petition them to play elsewhere in NC.

A significant step up from its sister venue, the Fillmore. Can still get packed, but significantly easier to move around. Probably the most well air conditioned venue Ive ever been to, which is a HUGE plus in my book. Staff was significantly more helpful over here than at the Fillmore, and the crowd when I saw Blind Guardian on 4/20/24 was amazing. One of the better concert experiences Ive had, and hopefully more bands I like will be booked here opposed to the nightmare next door.

The sound here is fantastic! The size is perfect. Not too big, not too small. My only complaint is that there is no slight slanting of the floor. Its just completely flat. So, if you are under 510, you will definitely have a hard time seeing whos playing. Tall people are ruthless humans at shows and are very rude for getting in shorter peoples way. But its a dope venue. Some guy was able to sneak in a knife though. But everyone was fine!

What YOU NEED TO KNOW Before you get ROBBED by this VenueI couldn’t find any of this information online, or on the reviews, so I’m going to let you guys know what I found out(too late) and got robbed blind by this venue. The VIP ACCESS AREA IS NOT WORTH IT! I labeled the pictures. You stand way in the BACK. It’s the furthest vantage point from the stage. If you want to sit in those barstools near the railing, it’s $70 extra. Other that, you have to stand near the ramp OR behind the people with the $70 barstool seats. They offered to upgrade me to the $70 barstool seats, BUT THEN THERE IS ANOTHER UPGRADE, for $100 table seats to the left side of the venue, with a much higher vantage point. And a much better view from the side. ANOTHER CATCH! You can’t buy a SINGLE table seat, YOU HAVE TO buy TWO seats, so $200. Luckily I found another single-concert goer, so we went in together and purchased a table together. That’s still $100 per seat, so I paid $100 and he paid $100.The drink prices and food prices are OUTRAGEOUSLY HIGH! I have attached a picture of that as well.Plus, the service at the “special tables,” not so special. It was super inconvenient that the server didn’t show up to take any trash away, or ask for any refills. The dude sharing the table with me had to leave the concert to go to get a refill on his drink at the bar because the waitress never showed back up.Then she-MAGICALLY decides to show up during the artists’ encore, and tries to settle the tab. I’m not a person to walk away and not pay for my meal, but I know a lot of people aren’t like that. I would have closed out my tab after the encore song was over. Ruined the last song for me completely. I would have settled my tab earlier if she would have SHOWED BACK UP DURING THE HALFWAY POINT OF THE CONCERT. She also didn’t offer a receipt, so now I’m fearful of getting scammed. This venue will rip you off BLINDLY. Neither me, nor the man I shared a table with knew about the $100 seats beforehand, or about the $70 barstools in front of our standing area in front of the VIP ACCESS AREA.I hope the artist is getting some of the profits for all these schemes this venue charges for. Instead of pocketing the money just for themselves. The only benefit to the VIP ACCESS, was the “fast lane,” just buy the “fast lane pass.” And get there early to get an awesome spot to stand. It’s what I should have done to begin with. But now I know and I wanted others to know too.

Tough to review the place without being influenced by the music I went there to hear. Its not fancy, or big, there is seating around the exterior despite the place saying standing room only but got to get there early to snag one.I liked it more than the PNC Pavilion because its small, intimate, and much louder. I found the drinks a bit pricey starting at $12 so pre-game in the pay-for-parking lot to save some cash. I didnt get a drink so I dont know how good they are. Ill go back again. But for the music. Review №52

The Underground is a cool little place. We visited last night for the 1st time to see puddle of mud. Im short and had a hard time seeing but still enjoyed the show. My only complaint is the ticket prices were $25 dollars per person, then when ordering the tickets a additional $20 service charge per ticket and when ordering online it asks for a dollar donation for something with no option to decline so a $25 ticket actually costs you $46 which is fine if they would just charge that upfront instead of finding out when making the purchase. Add the prices of a few drinks (beer $11, mixed drink $13) for two ppl easily starts adding up fast. We arent from Charlotte so maybe this is all normal here, we just werent prepared so this post is mostly for the out of towners to give them some insight when planning a trip.

This is a very intimate venue to see a band like many of the reviews state. Tickets were fairly priced, bathrooms clean, very easy access to the bathrooms and bar despite the horde of people inside, and the music sounded great. The only negative was that the band was tough to see through all of the people. I feel the stage is not elevated enough, or the floor is completely flat and does not slope at all from front to back. If you are not 62, or standing at the front, it can be very difficult to see the stage without constantly shifting your head back and forth. The experience was enjoyable however if there was a choice of venues to see the same band I personally would try another one out before returning to The Underground.

Great place to see big artists in a more intimate setting. Drink prices arent surprisingly expensive, just what youd expect at a venue. Merchandise is same price as any other concert. Parking always available somewhere around there, but get there a half hour early to get a good spot, both in parking and in the club. Wish they didnt let it get so crowded, but you know, they gotta sell tickets. Also wish they tended to the crazies, they just let them scream and shove and ruin the show sometimes. All in all though, I would go to see a show there again, but would get there super early to snag a railing spot, just so that I could hold on to something and not feel so claustrophobic and shoved. But youll experience that in any concert with only standing admission, so its a price to pay when you want to see an artist in a smaller setting (vs stadium).

There obviously werent any firearms, bombs or knives in my very small purse so I dont know what she was looking for. Will never see another band there again. My favorite place to see metal shows. Nice open room, the layout is just right, helpful staff and always a great time!Update 2024: I cant say I like this place as much as I used to. They seem to oversell tickets. Theres a lot of shows that comes to here that should be moved up to the Fillmore. Im a 6 ft tall guy but usually I have to stay awkwardly on the stairs to be able to get a good view of the stage. The drink prices have gotten horrific!!!! Im sure thats Live Nations fault. I hate when they take over venues. I liked the music factory area a whole lot more back when you could get free parking on weekdays. If there wasnt someone out there taking your money, you didnt have to pay. Now all the spots are mettered and youre pretty much guaranteed to pay $12 to park if youre doing anything in music factory. Black steps in a dark venue with no running lights or anything to make it visible in the dark. Seems sketchy to me. Some kids parents will sue you over that. Just a fun fact... Want to go to a place where beer is three times the cost it should be? Where the restrooms are guarded as if they are some 1st class area on a plane?I’m serious, after the show I left for ten seconds… and realized I should probably relieve myself and this lady herding people out not only wouldn’t let me back in to use the restroom after spending 105 bucks on 7 pints of overpriced and overly fizzy canned beer for me and my friends (the lady who sold them opened two of the beers and they both immediately started fizzing and she wouldn’t replace these $15 each beers even after commenting that they must have been mishandled by whoever stocked them), but anyway the people herder was telling me I had to go to another establishment next door instead… which sucks because it’s awkward to just walk into a place solely for that reason. I told her how dumb this was in so many words, not raising my voice, and her friend or lover had to go over and give her a hug for being brave as if I was verbally abusive even if I may have calmly and jovially even, protested for a second (I never raised my voice or anything… just said that I was just in there seconds ago and that I could easily walk back in because there was a lot of room to do so, forgive me for trying).A couple minutes later I decided to sprint in past her when she wasn’t looking and after wiping out from some slippery substance on the floor and bleeding from my face after smashing into a rail, I was met with a second level of pee police in front of the bathroom who put his hands on me despite me being completley stopped and passive at this point because I saw him approaching and was no longer running after I fell. He said he was told we have a runner and then he lied saying the bathrooms don’t work although I could clearly see a hundred people going in and out. I think we both were sort of trying not to laugh at this point. In hindsight, I wish I would have kept running and pulled a juke move on the guy. However I’m glad I didn’t because it wouldn’t have surprised me by now, if they had a team pry my honds from the urinal mid-stream, splashing anyone near me like collateral damage… or worse yet, directly cut off the flow by squeezing the “outlet” (if you know what I’m sayin’.) Possibly not letting go and escorting me out the same way as if a kid being pulled by ear of an overly zealous Catholic Nun.Maybe it serves me right for running. But also maybe they could just let a grown man pee real quick like a decent human.I have been to a million shows and while the band was great, the venue was your typical pretentious, corporatey, “ so Charlotte”, vanilla, shoebox. Complete with a fake vip section in order to squeeze even more money from a handful of suckers. Overall, nothing special.

Came here to see winery dogs. The show was awesome, the venue not so much. We will never come here again. Paid extra for vip seating which apparently includes no seat, and at the very back of the place behind everyone else. There were 2 couches that were first come first served that we managed to get, but I tried to stand on the seat when the show started (only way to see over the crowd) and got yelled at by security. So we paid $50 extra for vip seating that did nothing but get me yelled at for trying to see the band, and not to mention my husband and I both had 3 drinks each and our bill was $107!!!!!! 😳😳😳 DO NOT PAY EXTRA FOR VIP!!! You get nothing!! Also don’t buy drinks!!! Very expensive and no up front pricing! We LOVE winery dogs but will never come to this venue again!!!

Security was useless, allowed someone to moleste and grope others in the crowd. On top of that, people were trying to knock people to the ground and start fights. We attempted to get help but were ignored by the performer (who said it wasnt an emergency) and by the security who didnt even bat an eye towards us. So many people were asking for help and voicing discomfort for this individual. Before the show even started, the so-called security yelled at us to make a gap in the line due to the opening and closing of the gate. Completely understandable... Besides the point that they allowed so many others to cut in front of us and the whole crowd that showed up early. The only time they stepped in was after we moved up (blocking the gate) and told them we werent moving since they were allowing so many people to jump ahead. It was the only way to get anyones attention. Completely terrible experience.

It was an absolute cluster trying to get into the venue. The show had a combo of VIP, Meet and Greet, Fast Pass, and GA. And it was seriously a constant effort to explain to people where they were supposed to be. This was not helped by some VIP people being told to will call, will call telling them to go to the venue, and then the venue making them go back to will call after the doors open. Then security took an unbelievably long time because the table where you set your belongings to be checked kept hitting the metal detector and setting it off and confusing people. Then in the middle of the show there was an issue with sound or tech or something and it took forever to fix. Not a bad venue in general otherwise. Although there was a huge smashed cockroach in the ladies bathroom 🤢. Bartender was nice and super fast.Updating with my 2023 experience: I was there last night with crash the barricade tickets. The literal point of crash the barricade is to be let in an hour before everyone else. Thats why you buy it. They let us through security on time and then made us stand outside in the blasting sun for another hour until doors. I felt badly for the employee relaying this information to us and appreciate that they had a window we could buy food and drinks from but come on yall. They just kept saying they were working on it. Working on what? Its an empty venue. Let us inside. At least this time we had our own special line separate from GA and Fast Pass, although I heard those lines had the exact same issue I wrote about last year.

Concert was fun and the venue was fine, however this was the most unorganized event I’ve ever been to. There were 2 concerts occurring at the same time in basically the same building. There were no signs to indicate which line was which and no workers directing people to the right place. The amount of people we saw that had to move to the right line was ridiculous. Obviously security isn’t tight either because someone was smoking weed during the concert. It could have been executed much better and gone a lot smoother.
