Kayla and Jade always do a great job! My husband and I both go here for haircuts and I also dye my hair, we always come out looking our best!The place itself is awesome too! It always smells good and they offer tea and water. The online booking is easy to use even for two people booking at once and it shows when certain stylists are available which I appreciate.

The stylist was super nice, but asked me a lot of questions (like what tools to use to thin my hair and where to thin in) and things I didn’t know the answer to. They charged me A TON for my hair because I have a high density of hair? I have NEVER been charged this much EVER for my hair. And I had a brand new graduate for a stylist. So if you don’t want to pay an arm and a leg, I’d look elsewhere. The more I look at my hair, the worse it looks. It isn’t what I asked for and looks pretty awful. I simply wanted a balayage - I even came with a picture, but I basically just got darkened roots and highlights. Very disappointed in the outcome and the “hidden” costs. Will have to pay to get it fixed elsewhere.Included the pictured does it look like a balayage to you? Does it look like something you’d pay $350-$400 for?

Loved working with Aly! She was really great. Walked in having no idea what I wanted, besides a big change, and she helped me step out of my comfort zone, which resulted in something really fun. 🤍

Amy was amazing! My hair was a lost cause, completely fried and damaged, and she gave me the perfect cut to let it recover. I feel like myself again, and I will definitely be back.

I went in to get my hair bleached for the first time. I wanted to have the sides of my hair bleached to a lighter color while the back was left the same so that when I braided it, the light and dark sections would overlap. Instead, I got highlights that are like little strips throughout my hair, mostly underneath in portions that aren’t very visible, even when braided. And at the end, my stylist couldn’t brush my hair out and it became too painful so I had to ask her to stop. It wasn’t worth the price and just reminded me of why I avoid going to salons.

I can’t express enough how much I love my new hair!! I visited Avant on Gateway yesterday and my stylist Katie was amazing and gave me exactly what I wanted! Service was great and the staff members were very nice. I will definitely be coming back for my next hair appointment. Keep up the amazing work!! :)

Went in for a simple haircut and was quite pleased with the results! The prices are on the expensive side as it is a proper salon, but I feel that the jump in quality was worth it. My stylist was quick and responsive and got everything finished quite quickly.

Avant spa/salon exceeded my expectations! I got the bridal package which included a facial and brow wax which was absolutely amazing. The facial was the most relaxing experience and the products are fantastic. I left feeling so rejuvenated. We also all got our hair/makeup done on wedding day and everyone’s turned out great. 10/10 recommend for any brides or just anyone in general wanting a relaxing day at the spa or salon.

I was so excited to get a lash lift/tint and brow lamination/tint for the first time. Everything did not turn out as expected. On the same day one brow was so curly and lashes were over curled and touching my eyelids. I was expecting a better service from Avant especially when I paid over $200.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit today. I had a color, cut and a visit with an esthetician. I was very comfortable , loved the products used and my stylist was professional , timely , and very kind. Will repeat in 4 weeks!

Just got my haircut there. Staff was nice, but it was really expensive. I didn’t get anything special, just a haircut and my hair wasn’t styled after the cut and cost $59. Maybe prices have gone up since my last cut, or maybe in bigger cities it’s just cheaper. Idk.

Not happy with my parcel fiol dye job. Price 155.00 then charged me 210.00 to my card. First visit fiol and cut not an eighth of an inch 300.00. Could have done a better job myself but though I was in good hands.

I looked like I had just woken up from a night down town. There was no makeup around my eyebrows, a big black eye shadow mark in my inner corner, no makeup blended into my nostril crease. My eyebrows did not looked touched. It was a very bad experience, especially cause they ran so far behind I barley had a chance to fix my makeup before having to go to the wedding. One of the bridesmaids was late for pictures due to hair running behind. If you book with them at least make sure everyone does a makeup trial and start earlier than suggested.

The front desk staff were also lovely and very friendly. The whole place has a professional but welcoming feel and Ill definitely be going back in the future.

I had a Brazilian wax done today. I’ve had many so this is not my first rodeo. I first of all had to basically position myself to ensure she was removing all the hair where she was applying wax so that she wouldn’t have to continually put hot wax on an areas that are already pretty sensitive. She immediately started applying wax without having me reposition or anything. I asked to be waxed ALL the way front and back specifically stated I would like to be waxed all the way back to my tailbone. I have patches of hair left in places there most definitely shouldn’t be. If this is a service I could do myself I would. But I’m willing to pay someone to do it for me. I did not notice the hair patches until after getting home and inspecting. I only came to Avant because my usual esthetician was out due to being having surgery. I do not plan on returning. But I feel that someone may need to be retrained. 😊

Sad how they make you sign a paper before getting your highlights to how you want them, you would figure they should know what type of of toner to put on after bleaching your hair for it to become that color i wanted. I spent 250 there for highlights and a hair up which I asked for long layers and she just went straight across my bottom hair hmmm 45$ for that hair cut..smh.The next day I went in to Josephs hair salon/ school and this 20 year old named Emily did an amazing job and got my highlights to be that platinum blonde as I wanted.. I have heard they just take People money!! And she did that with me..last time ill be going There... after so much experience they have and for such an expensive place to get your hair done they should not have anyone sign a paper to have them come back to pay 200$ for the color they need!!!!!!!!!!! Such a huge disappointment!!!!

I came in today to be a model for a new stylist by the name of Lantis who was being trained by Nicole. The service was fantastic as always and even though I was in a hurry today that did not stop either of them making the most of their time and providing an excellent experience. I can’t wait to see how far Lantis will grow with Avant and hope she learned some valuable tips from this experience.

I was referred to Bree by a good friend and after seeing her the first time I havent been anywhere else. She does an incredible job, she genuinely cares about making you look your best. Shes very personable and incredibly knowledgeable.I rarely leave a salon without going straight home to try to fix the cut, but after getting out of Brees chair I have never had to do so. I leave feeling confident that I just got the best cut possible.

I have been going to Avant since 2008 and have always walked out complete satisfied. I love the atmosphere, the staff, and my stylist has become a very good and caring friend. Couldnt ask for anything better.

Im new to the area and needed to find a salon. I booked a waxing service at the Avant Gateway location through their website, and that went smoothly. I liked that I could view the bio for each staff member and select who I wanted for my appointment. Its a cute salon, Ill give them credit for that. But soon after I arrived, things went downhill quickly. They do not seem to treat their guests very well. When I checked in right on time, they asked if I wanted a drink... I asked for water, and never got any. I waited 20-25 minutes for my appointment without any explanation. The staff all seemed to be pretty low energy, which seemed kind of odd. As crazy as it sounds, Id be willing to overlook these missteps *IF* the services they offer are good, but that also turned out to be a letdown. For my waxing service, my skin was not prepped in any way. I left with burning, irritated skin, which is completely avoidable when the service is performed correctly (like at other Aveda salons Ive been to). I had to rush home to treat my skin before a rash developed... something I would expect my esthetician to do automatically! I really was not happy with my treatment, and unfortunately will have to keep looking for a decent salon in the area. This was the first local salon I had tried since moving here, and I do not plan to give them my business again. It really did not live up to the Aveda brand. Hopefully the managers see this review and work to correct the deficiencies, because it could be a nice salon someday.

The facial I received at Avant was a positive experience from the moment I arrived to my departure over an hour later.... Enjoyable, relaxing, and my skin feels great! Heather provided great personal attention and Ill be back.

I had never been to Avant before until I tried to cut my own bangs and things went south. I had an amazing man help me and let me tell you what he was AMAZING! I also got a Complimentary hand massage as I was getting my haircut. Great place!s

I asked for a stacked bob, longer in the front. Showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted. Ive had the cut before so I knew it could be done. The girl was hung up on my face framing pieces. Instead of using the existing length, she hacked my hair off at my framing length (chin length, a good 2 inches shorter than I wanted). When I asked for her to angle it a bit more because she had left it in a straight bob, she shaved 2 inches to the skin up the nap of my neck and gave me what looks like a bowl cut on the back. Instead of the cut fun summer cut I wanted, I got a mess that I now need to let grow out. Additionally, she was burning my scalp with the blow dryer. It was so uncomfortable. Ive gotten more What happened and Why did you do that to your hair comments than I have EVER gotten with any haircut. Im so irritated and upset. I didnt want this and I will NEVER go back to this salon.

Horrible experience, the receptionist could learn to smile every once in awhile and my stylist had horrible bed side manners. She was blow drying my hair and the brush kept getting tangled with my hair. She just shook her head looked at me and said does it always do this? Like really?? Its hair and thick hair so yea! Not only was that bad but she butchered my haircut. I told her I wanted a light trim and to redo my layers but not to make the layers short, I wanted them longer. Well my layers are about half the length of my actual hair and it wasnt blended in either.... Maybe the other stylists are better than her but Im not going to be taking anymore chances here and not going back ever!

The cut and color i got was nothing like I told her about, my hair is uneven and my curtain bangs just stop they don’t blend. I didn’t see all the flaws when in the salon but immediately when I got to my car and looked, after I paid and tipped, it made be start bawling. Will never go back!

Have been going to see Tanja at Avant. The last time she cut my hair she sped through the cut and just hacked off the bottom of my hair and didnt trim my layers like I wanted. She didnt even ask if it looked ok, just said, ok done! 30 mins and $42 later my hair looked awful.

I loved it! I was really nervous about going in because Im used to my stylist at home but desperately needed a hair cut. Stylist was really nice and my hair looks perfect now!

When they mess up your hair, after charging a small fortune, they will refuse to accept responsibility. They only want you to go back there to have them attempt to fix it. Why would a person, who just had their hair destroyed, ever want to step back into that place? Regardless, would not recommend.
