First chance to visit The Tarlton Theatre in Walnut in Green Bay. Great place. Intimate setting..small tables in floor for two..Booths in upper level. Listened to the Green Bay Jazz Orchestra. Blown away. Met new people. Performance was great. This was a free show, but there is a diverse group of performances and pushes for the Tarlton.Looking forward to further exploring this spot including seeing the Sinatra show in June 19th.Another hidden gem in Green Bay in the Broadway District.Drinks can be purchased. Not sure if any food is offered.
Dont judge the book by its cover! Meaning the exterior is need of some updating, and I heard that may be coming, inside its a great venue for enjoying anything on stage. Many booths and tables with some elevation makes for unobstructed viewing. A bar greets you when you walk in. Did you know they serve food there? Yup!
Went here with a friend to take in some music. Pretty nice place inside with booths. Some DJs were there dropping tracks and it was pretty cool. I wish now I had taken pics inside or of the food and drink cuz they have a great menu. But the inside was clean. Workers were pretty laid back. Just a cool place to go check out some good music.
Awesome place to watch a concert. Very friendly staff and great setup for watching live music. I hope they continue to bring in bands in. Also very good drink prices for a venue.
Have only.been once, but it was cool! A lot more different than what I was expecting. They always have cool stuff going on there, but when we finally were able to go to an event there, it was for an art war! Totally awesome and fun. Will be going again.
We perform several magic shows a year at this amazing historic venue. The venue itself is truly stunning and the events they host offer a robust variety of music, classic movies, cartoons, magic shows, burlesque, and so much more. The owners and staff are involved and caring community members who put forth immense effort organizing and hosting so many events that enhance the incredible city we call home.
Saw Scarecrow. …..one woman show. absolutely wonderful performance and in such a personal, artistic, building made it even better. Had just a great night !
I love performing here and I also love coming. Here is one of the few theaters that I will go to whenever I visit Green Bay. I cant wait to be there again!
The Tarlton Theatre is my favorite place in Green Bay! Tarl Knight, the owner, always plans a diverse set of events for the downtown community and, often, hosts many local artists to participate in organized performances. I feel at home in an environment that encourages creativity, especially when the service is consistently prompt and polite. I recommend The Tarlton Theatre experience to every person who I know and who may be in the area.
Attended a magic show last night and we had a great time. The venue is beautiful but there food menu was a little rough.I am a foodie, no doubt about it. When I asked some questions about the menu, nobody knew… and then they guessed. I asked about a burger and the size of the patty, it was good. But it was not a 1/3lb patty like they said. We got a sampler and it was small bowl, said fried mushrooms. Came out with fried pickles, is this a big deal?Nah its not but then when we got out dinners, my wife’s salad had a crawling bug in it, kind of like a caterpillar….I personally don’t think the proper precautions were taken to clean the product.Very cool venue. But it was a little disturbing for us.
Cozy warm atmosphere and set up. Great selection at bar and menu.Youre missing out if you dont check this out sometime!!!!
Went for dinner and a movie. It was a great experience!! We learned a little history about the theatre in the process. Comfortable atmosphere and super polite staff. Food was excellent and large portions. Definitely will go back!!
Went to see Tribute to the Life & Music of Bob Balsley last night! It was a well put together performance. The theater is very beautiful with friendly staff & great drinks. Didnt eat there but the food looked & smelled delicious! I cant wait to return.
Went for the speed painting event. The food was good, art was interesting. I have a couple of suggestions. It would be nice if you could put the artists on a slowly rotating platform so those with limited mobility can watch all artists without having to leave their seats. Eliminate spray paint and spray adhesive from the theater; the fumes are overpowering to people sensitive to them. The wobbly railing doesnt help with stability. Using the ladies restroom , I found it was being used as a smoking lounge, which was especially worrisome after being given the warning about lacking sprinklers and information about evacuation of the building. Green Bay needs more places like this supporting the arts. The idea is very good; it just needs to be tweaked to be more inclusive. Tarl seems to be the kind person who will make it a success!
Great atmosphere and service. Really enjoyed the venue.
Pretty impressive ! Well thought out, well run, kept the audience engaged and the artists were just a joy to watch ! The auction too was well planned and no one got tired of waiting for the next thing up, being it voting, or the auction or the next round. Well attended ! Great staff, Good food and drinks ! Definitely one of the best Art events in this area, and a very beautiful place to have it in. THANK YOU !
My family of 4 went to rocky horror picture show tonight and it was so much fun. This theatre is a hidden gem we never knew about but plan to attend on the regular! Super awesome place! Felt right at home! Next time getting a booth!
I saw the Rocky Horror Picture Show here. It was all I hoped. Tickets, prop kits, and food were all easily purchased and reasonably priced. Parking is free. I would love to see more shows at this small venue, I loved everything about it. I’d love to get a booth next time and plan to eat dinner there before or during the show. The employees and participants were so friendly.
Staff was so welcoming. The show was terrific and the venue is delightful!!
Great historic public space! Fell in love with the theatre during an art war competition, which encouraged me to go to all the different events they host. Movies, Green Bay Film Festival, UWGB jazz/orchestra nights, art competitions, diva shows, club/bass nights, and anything you can think of. So cool to see a historic theatre becoming versatile to a wide range of events.. Try the Captain Crunch Chicken Tenders because you wont regret it!
Art wars was great, the only thing that would make it better is not allowing people to bring previous art works in to copy off of. The show is timed to see how great the artist is at creating something not copying something. Was wonderful watching creations come to life!
The only thing they are missing is Liquid Death water or a water in a glass bottle.
ArtWars at Tarlton Theatre on May 20, 2022 was a very positive experience. I was happy with the overall atmosphere including the music, featuring Cat Plan, and wine selection. I recommend others to check out this venue.
A great venue. My wife and I went here for a movie. The food and service were great. Always something different happening here. From movies to concerts, to karaoke, to Saturday morning cartoons, and the occasional drag show. While this place doesnt have Dolby sound or a giant screen. It is very pleasant and intimate. Seating is in booths and very comfortable. All in all a great place to take in local talent and tasteful movies
Attended Rocky Horror here. Issues with starting the movie (45 minutes late) and when the movie did play, there was an error message on the screen. They did offer refunds if anyone wanted to leave, I think everyone decided to stay. It was a fun time, but it seemed like they were pretty unprepared for the showing, testing your equipment before you have a packed house would be a good idea too.
We went for a Halloween viewing of Rocky Horror Picture Show and had a blast. I feel like there are still a few things they need to work out, not that I am one to make suggestions, but the folks running the Tarlton clearly love the space and opportunity to bring some fun to Green Bay. Keep an eye on events!
The tarlton art war night was fantastic! Beyond comprehension! It was a great night, Lots of room, Clean facilities, And fabulous staff. The desserts were great too.
A unique experience like no other in Northeast Wisconsin. A classic movie theatre that is renovated and offers an eclectic mix of live entertainment on stage along with adult beverages and classic American cuisine. The Tarlton Theatre often hosts events that wouldnt happen like they do here anywhere else in the area.
I give The Tarlton Theater a 5star rating because, this place is amazing. There top priority is safety they do a great job keeping the people safe in there place. They look out for your health. There a very caring conpassiate place. Its the only word possible for it. Its my favorite place to go, they have an amazing restaurant, great food, and amazing people who work thereFrom the time you walk in to the time you leave, you feel very welcomed. Its a very nice place to go. Definitely love going to this place.
Ive only been to the art competitions but its a historic theatre in Green Bay that has events and special film showings. Worth checking out.
Saw the Rocky Horror Picture Show at theatre, my overall experience was great. Them still being freshly new with time and covid, ide happily go back. Its not 5 stars cuz some girl threw bread at me, which I ate. I hate bread
I enjoyed the Rocky horror picture show! I brought 3 newbies with me . although they didnt like it i did! Please have this showing next year as i will most definitely come again!
Fun venue! With lots of different types of ongoing shows & community offerings. Great staff and the food is delish.
Its nice to finally see this space being utilized correctly. Tarl has done great work with the community and the Tarlton brings a little taste of culture to the Shipyard District that its been sorely missing.
The best venue to come into this space, I’ve been to many shows here and each one blows me away. The owner is a magnificent musician and person, I’ve known him pretty much my whole life. Everyone should go see a show at the Tarlton.
Getting to watch Labyrinth on the big screen was amazing. Not only was the sound and picture amazing, but the service was great. I cant wait to go back and watch another show and eat Capn Crunch chicken nuggets!
Took our kids to a movie there. Polite employees, clean place, good food and tons of fun! Dinner and a show! Would highly recommend the chocolate fondue dessert. Excited to go back!
Fun place that brings unique events to our area. Love the Saturday morning cartoons and cult classic movie events. Reasonably priced food too. Local owners. I’m very glad they revitalized the old theater.
Music in the yard in the evening was great
I purchased a ring made of a certain type of material. Everyone is very friendly.
Tarl is a huge supporter of the LGBTQ-mmunity. Beyond that the Tarlton is a very relaxed art-deco theatre with gracious hosts and delicious food. Come see one of the famous Divalicious on Broadway shows. You wont regret it. Even if you arent in the queer community.
Nice venue. Has great potential. Stopped in because I had heard about a Karaoke competition. Sadly, I couldnt stay as it was SO hot without any apparent air conditioning running.
The food was amazing! Our waitress was funny, sweet and prompt! The live music was great! Just cant wait to go back!#ThechixtendersWOW!
I attended a Celebration of Life here. The space was perfect for mingling as well as a formal service. The big screen was excellent for a slide show.
So fun! The place is beautiful and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Drinks were tasty too 😉
My favorite place for dubstep when its there ! Great service behind bars, just overall a fantastic place!
Got there at 5:58 and ordered food, had to cancel my order after waiting well over an hour. Seen 3 people get their food even though they placed their orders after me. Horrible service
Lovely and comfortable venue for music, movies and entertainment. Remembering it as an old movie theater, I was amazed when I walked in. Im looking forward to going back for an enjoyable evening.
This place is doing a great job of giving Green Bay area residents another entertainment option. Caught a Monty Python flick and had a beer and fondue!
It is a really nice and unique venue. I can think of a variety of things that it could be used for. The prices were decent and the Dark Arts were very entertaining.
Good historical theater for downtown district. Not a large seating area but that leaves for a more personal experience. Great sound.
Fun crowd, friendly staff, affordable drinks, cheap tickets especially after covid. Enough on street parking. Needs an ATM though.
Great food and entertainment!!!
Saw Rocky Horror here for Halloween! It was a great time! Thank you to everyone that helped put this together it was an absolute pleasure!
Attended a free jazz concert and had dinner. Nice place, food was good.
Bartender Marisa was awesome, music was great, the theater has a nice layout and vibe.
