Nice and clean place but very pushy and told them numerous times I just want back massage and no foot massage but when 4 hands started massaging me I knew something was wrong. Then they kept pushing for extra minutes. Massage was good and price reasonable but with 4 hands or combo the price doubles. Should be more transparent and not so pushy.

Amazing Spa! The place was clean, the service outstanding, and the results were worth every penny spent. I enjoyed it so much that I brought my wife too.Ask for Jimmy and tell him Jorge sent you. I told him I would post this review because their service was terrific. I recommend combining table massage ($40 = 30 min) and foot reflexology ($28 = 20 min).

Absolutely wonderful! Completely worth visiting while in town!Cathy was beyond incredible! She took the time to work on my terrible knots and helped me ease my most painful areas. You can tell she really loves what she does and it reflects on her work. She takes the time to make sure her customers are cared for and get the best service. The location is cleaned, organized, nice and cool inside with these high temperatures right now. Definitely worth trying them out.

Asked for 30 minute massage for 36 dollars they brought people into our room to do our feet and was trying to up sell us to 40 min during massage… charged us for back and for feet ended up being 72 dollars!! ITS A SCAM BEWARE

After a long day of walking all over New Orleans, my friends, and I decided to stop in for a foot massage. Our experience was incredible. It was probably the best foot massage I’ve ever ever had. In fact, we’re thinking about going back tomorrow for a body massage. They were very friendly. We liked the whole environment.

Almost fell asleep. When it was finished I was completely in a relaxed state and I only did 30 minutes. They almost tricked me into doing more time and it would’ve been so worth it lol!I will be back.Definitely did the massage with diligence and although it hurt it felt really good and like it truly helped my back.

Actually the worst massage of my life and they also tried to scam us. We asked for a 40 minute combo of body and foot and they added a second person to do instead 40 minutes foot and 40 minutes body. We explained we didnt want this and wanted the combo, he still kept trying to talk us into it. My friend who also got a massage was in more pain after, and not the normal post massage soreness. Would not recommend this place at all

We didnt even come here. They stood outside and told us it would be free. Then they pushed us in their chairs continuing to say it would be free. Next thing you know the man comes out with a calculator and tells us how much we owe. I spent $72 on an unwanted massage. The massage wasnt even good. Woke up the next morning super sore. They were not gentle or relaxing.

The massage is not bad and the facility is adequate but be careful they try to get you to pay for ($) than you desire or ask for. Check their math when you checkout and the time of the massage too. Get your money worth. They are money hungry in my point of view which can be a turnoff.

But if I’m going to pay that id rather get a fullBody. Not a neck massage under my shirt and face and temple massage.Everyone seemed nice. The massage was good. But the manager or whoever is overly aggressive and makes the experience feel like a money grab.I don’t like that feeling when I’m trying to relax. You won’t be able to relax if you don’t agree to the add ins force upon you.I’d probably pass this place if you don’t like being pressured into extra service and money.

Just received the most amazing, amazing massage at the river walk outlet mall!! - one masseuse on each of my feet, as well as a masseuse on my neck and face! Then, when that incredibleness was complete, I sat in the chair Massage in topped it off with a great back massage! What a treat with my friend Melinda!!!! (She posted the picture of our bliss)

Scammers. This Tao Spa location charge you more than the rates on their paper and they tell you it is because they had double therapists and they never warn you about this. Stay far away from them and understand that is why they are hustling on the streets for customers

Must be different owners. Last time we went super chill. This time they got us relaxed then tried to hard sell more services. Guy broke out the calculator and all. Also prices are per foot. Deceptive and pushy. Cant recommend.

Unsanitary! I was so upset! I got a massage in their chair, got this infection… or maybe the friction of the chair cause it regardless, took me months to heal, had to go to the doctor to get an ointment!

On video the massage person places our sunglasses on the very back of our bag. The video clearly shows them dropping off behind the chair where only employees go. They say they don’t know where they are. So now we have to make a police report. Don’t go here.

This place is cheating people ! They cannot hardly speak English and keep trying to add more minutes I did not ask two people to work on my husband . They have two people working on him we wanted at first 30 minutes and they keep on pushing us to add more minutes . When we went to check out they charge him $72! times 2 ! THEY ARE NOT PRACTICING HONEST BUSINESS. I asked for a 60-minute massage for 72 dollars. Pointed at the sigh to make sure they knew what massage I wanted. While on the table about 10 minutes into my massage, I was told to add more time. I advised them I didnt have more time, and 60 minutes was all I had to get a massage. I was very uncomfortable laying on the massage table face down while he stood over me, demanding I add more time. Then another person came into the room and started massaging my feet while the first employee was doing my back. They employee doing my feet just after 15mins said he was done, and within 10 minutes, what was supposed to be a full body massage was done. I looked at the time as it had only been about 30mins since they started. I asked what happened to the rest of the time. He told me they did my massage at the same time (I did not ask for 2 people), so its equal to 60 minutes. I felt really bad and cheated. He told me that if I wanted 60 minutes, I would have to pay 144 dollars. Then, when it was time to pay, he insisted I tip double the amount. This was not a good experience, and them taking advantage of people is insulting.

My first experience was amazing and ranked at my top 5 massages ever. This visit was anything but pleasurable.This place may be under new management. Within 15 min, he left twice and returned to overly aggressively push on my back and spine. I decided to change my massage to 30 min instead of 60 as initially planned. The person who I assume is the manager came in when I requested to change my time. I explained that it was not a pleasurable experience as Ive had before and I would not lay through an hour of whats happening now. Instead of offering to get someone new, he instead reminded me that my friends were doing an hour. The person assigned to me came back with hot rocks and after rubbing those along my back, begin pushing on my back and spine again. I immediately asked him to stop and got up to get dressed. Ive been blessed to have experienced massages from all over the world. This was the absolute worst Ive ever had. My friends enjoyed their massages but the lack of professionalism and concern for the experience of their customers is what will prevent me from supporting them again. The manager even had the audacity to ask me if I wanted to tip after charging me for a 30 min massage when I only received 15 min (This was the approx time considering the stops he made during my massage.). He even mentioned that this man was one of the best. Definitely not true. Believe the other reviews. This place isnt what they used to be. I hate their customer service was equally as bad as the massage. Had an effort been made to rectify the issue as it was happening, I would be inclined to support again.Support at your own risk. Theres a reason they have a 3.7 review rating.

During the massage, they called additional help, meaning that one person massaged your feet while another the shoulders and upped the price to $72. Be careful; they’ll tell you one price to get you into the door, then will up the charge. I confirmed with them before starting that $36 for 30 minutes was what I wanted. The signs mention nothing about there being an upcharge for an additional masseuse. Excellent services, but cheating people out of their money is not correct!

Just as everyone stated, be careful! Not only are they super aggressive, they add more services without your consent. We came there for a quick in an out experience 15 mins turned into 30 mins and then they added another person came to massage my arms (not something I agreed to) at the end of this experience they quoted us $72 a piece. After my massage, the guy folded the napkin my face was on and placed it back in the supplies to be used again, and as he massaged my arms I caught him wiping the lotion off of his arm and rubbing it on me! Like what others recent comments said, they would try to persuade you adding time or shoulder massage in an aggressive way. I clearly stated what we needed before starting, sample massage was added without any explanation. It was not like this when I visited May 2023.

Bait and switched pricing. The combo is not $72 dollars, it is $144. They should not be allowed to do this..seems a bit illegal pricing.

My technicians and the techniques they use worked great for me. I can sore and stiff and when I left out my body felt much much much much much much much better. I recommend this place to everyone

Terrible massage, therapists are not trained. Trying to scam you into extra charges.

During the masage they continue to ask you to add more minutes or services. They are smooth. I could have refused it but its hard to do so when you like your massage. We also noticed they only take cash but they tell you this at the end. The massage was good but not consistent, when it came to areas of the back or strenght applied.

Beware Scammers!!! The manager quoted my friend and I a price of $72 each for a combo massage and then all of a sudden afterwards it changed to $96. When we explained that was NOT what he quoted us he became aggressive and very argumentative. Don’t bother going to this place.

Massage was kinda hard. Not great (my wife loved it though).But if it was only the massage itd get a 3 star review. Had $200+ in cash in my wallet (that I hung up in my jacket) that turned into $20 by the time the massage was over. Recommend you keep your valuables on you if you choose to go here.

Amazing place! I visited the spa where is located at Riverwalk mall. I had a good communication with the manager, he introduced every item nicely and I enjoyed a 40-minute combo. I really recommend the place to everybody strongly !!!

Great massage, I had a full body massage. The reason for some of the negative reviews is a simple misunderstanding of how they operate - they have masseuses that specialize in foot massage - which means when you request a one hour massage, you get a half hour of dedicated foot massage while another masseuse works on the rest of your body. They are more than happy to remove the foot masseuse and give you a full hour of body. What I did is a half hour of foot with an hour of full body. It was pure bliss!!!

Wife went for massage and all was well with her.I kept saying none for me only wife. Female staff kept saying I can’t wait on chair and to sit on massage chair.I said no ( clarifying I’m willing to change chairs but no massage ).She yells at guy in her language and he started to massage me.Was not sure ( partially my fault I let it go for a few minutes, thinking is this a sample free massage to tempt me? Took a couple minutes to realize it probably was not ). Amazing how they spoke English at front door but no English after that.I finally stopped massage and got up. Waited back in front chairs and wife finished.Found she charged my wife for her and me.Tried to explain but she would play dumb, don’t understand, and spoke Foreign language.Anyways my wife paid for both me and her massages even though I did not really have one.The reason for this review is I felt it was a full blown scam to pay double.A person walks in and orders a massage all is good. You’re waiting for someone , watch out.She also started screaming for a tip at the end.Wife gave her a 10.00Don’t chance it, go somewhere else to be on the safe side with a little more trustworthy and ethics.

I wish I could give this place to 0 stars. They are scam artists. They act like they don’t understand English so they can up charge you while you are on the table. Workers talked through the whole thing and openly laughed in our face. They tried to charge me for 60 minutes when I was there maybe 30. The “massage” sucked. Truly a terrible experience. They deserved to be shut down. They also yelled at us for not tipping- because we were upset that they tried to double the charge us. Please do not support, its a scam.

Second time here and great massage. He really worked out a lot of tension in my body especially around the neck area. Asked for 1 hour massage and received just that from one person. No try to upsale and no scamming for me.

Indeed a scam. Great tactics to get you in the door, but will try to add services and time and state ultimately confusing pricing. They feigned English, so you can’t make any practical objections or clarifications. I would avoid this place unless you prepay for an amount and get it in writing what they are to do to you- seriously.

The Workers at the front door tried to entice me and my girlfriend with a free 20 min foot massage. When I asked if the massage was really free The guy did NOT answer and proceeded. Another lady ended up coming to massage my neck which in turn I asked to skip the foot massage. I had only let them massage one foot which was a bit uncomfortable so I told them I didnt want another 20 min massage for my other foot. Then the worker tried to get another 20 minutes of service out of me by massaging the foot he just finished massaging So i told him No . Safe to say. STAY AWAY from this place. If you need firm pressure and deep tissue massage THIS IS IT! To be honest, there was a communication barrier but everything felt so good I was not concerned with whatever the price would end up being. The quality of their skill was worth it. I started with neck and shoulders/upper back and then when it was over I asked to extend it because it was so good. That was probably 45 mins. And when that extension was over I was still not ready to stop haha so I moved over to the chair, one guy massaged my feet and legs and a second guy came up behind me to massage my neck, head, and shoulders. It was incredible to have two massages going on at once. I probably spent around 90 mins total for $144. That’s a steal. MUCH better deal than nearby spas (looking at Atlantis’ wildly overpriced spa menu).

Amazing. Highly recommend the “combo” - lower leg, plus head/neck. The “combo” equals a 60 minute price, even though the time is 30 minutes. That’s because there are 2 technicians working at the same time. They place a towel on your mid-section for the leg massage, and a wash cloth over your eyes for part of the head/neck massage. They are known for deep pressure. If you want less pressure, just ask for “soft”. With all the walking in NOLA, it’s a great time-out, and recharge.

Don’t even waste your time. What ever you go in for and ask for they will end up adding time or charges without your approval. I asked for a 30 min foot massage. Without even asking they started massaging my head and neck and charged me for an hour body massage, I was not there an hour! They literally did this to every person who sat down. Every person who went in got charged at least double than what they asked for.

Hands down best massage my partner and I have ever had. Says cash only but they do take card.We had the foot and shoulder combo, loved it so much we did the back chair massage too. Strong and fire pressure on shoulders and back, relaxing and pressure point on feet. We walked away feeling weightless after all the walking for a few days. The massage was great but the staff allowed one of their staff to negotiate with the wrong individual in regards to the intended massage. They were told WHO to talk to and none of the other staff explained to the said staff about talking to me about payment. All staff stood by while the noted miscommunication took place and did NOTHING to translate or help the situation and expected me as a customer to pay for what was not initially agreed on AND tip?! No no no no...if you stand by and let an employee be rude as well as not help with better communication, that is not tip worthy. Tips are not for service, tips are for above and beyond services. Its no wonder this place was empty when we got there and was empty when we left.

Worst massage ever. Foot massage was ok, but when it came to the full body massage it was terrible. Firstly, who gives a full body massage while the person is fully dressed? Then it felt like he was beating me up so uncomfortable from beginning until the end. My massage was from the manager. I will never go back. It was just so horrible I wish I never went. I am truly VIP here. They know the service I want, the therapist call to remind me its time for my massage, and I always get 2 awesome therapist simultaneously, body and feet. This one has a more private atmosphere than the others downtown.

Tourist trap—they don’t inform you that the combo of foot reflexology & back, neck and shoulder massage is $72 if one person works on you. They automatically have one person at your feet & one person on your shoulders which makes the price $144 aka the most expensive massage that wasn’t worth it and it’s not even full body!

Husband and I went in for 30 min foot reflexology only. We were both leaned way back in the chair and someone started on feet and another on shoulder and head. He told them we only wanted feet. Lady worker started being very pushy, feet bad need more time. We persisted only 30 min foot! It was very uncomfortable. Man at my shoulders told me to relax. I kept my eyes open bc I felt off about something. He covered my face with a cloth. Very sketchy. Did not like man touching my head, face & arms.

Scam alert. Went for couples 60 min combo massage. They Changed service to 30 minutes by doing feet and back at same time. Tried multiple up sells and talked to each other almost the whole time.

**TOURIST TRAP** Went in with horrific foot pain from being on my feet for several hours...left with horrific foot pain, but roped into the $72.00 arm/foot massage. STILL NEVER really worked on my feet, mostly my legs, and after several requests to PLEASE HELP MY FEET! This place has no real training to do the techniques advertised. That was not reflexology! The Lady that did mine in the room was very nice and gentle was very nice and relaxing on the other hand they had two men upstairs giving a free sample message which was not the best experience the just grabbed me and my mom up threw our stuff down and was very ruff and painful

I was having extremely bad neck pain for months, so I thought I would try a massage. I spent an hour and a half in the Tao Spa; and by the time I left, I was in so much pain that I was convinced the massage pinched a nerve or something. However, the next morning, all my pain was GONE. The neck pain that had dehabilitated me for weeks had entirely disappeared. I cant recommend this place enough!

Over priced. Boyfriend and I went in for a foot massage, since we had been walking for several miles that day. Anyway, themasseuse made us feel very uncomfortable by pushing us to purchase more services. From a $30 foot massage each. Ended up paying $144. Wish we werent happy about. After she was done with my feet. Some guy came and grabbed me with one shoe on, one shoe off. Took me to back, my bf followed as he was concerned of my whereabouts. So Apparently we thought we were going to get a 20 minute complimentary back massage. Since we had already said NO 4 times. Guessing for a better tip.As we were back there getting a back massage, lady next door yelling for her bag. Thought I was about to get kidnapped. LolPoint here. NEVER AGAIN.

DONT!!!!Two days later and I’m still limping. The gentleman who massaged my feet applied soo much pressure, I think he tore something in the bottom of my foot. They do not know what they are doing, this is not normal soreness.

The prices are deceiving! They entice you in with a cheap price chart on window; $1/min full body. then pressure u into paying double when 2 girls work on u. They try to add to those prices so u walk out paying way more. Don’t get sucked in!

He kept harassing me for more time throughout the entire massage to add more time I then said no he told me I had 10 more minutes then added 10 minutes. He also took a phone call during the massage. I highly don’t recommend!

Amazing foot and body massage. My masseuse, after 90 minutes under his experienced hands, had me reduced to a drooling mass of goo. With Worth every penny. One word of advice, they only take cash.

SCAM!!The guy stops you at the door showing you the prices and then, when you have already started receiving the massage, he comes to explain the correct price.1 hour massage, actually 30 minutes, but they charge 1 hour as there are two simultaneous massages (one person on the feet and the other on the shoulders.)I left saying that he acted in bad faith. They didnt even care. Just giggles.On top of that, they keep speaking a language that only they understand (Japanese or Chinese, I dont know) which I found to be a tremendous lack of education.The massages were pretty boring, on top of that.I also saw a guy arriving on a bicycle and immediately went to massage the client. He DIDNT WASH HIS HANDS.HORRIBLE PLACE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. I GAVE IT ONE STAR BECAUSE THERE IS NO OPTION TO RATE ZERO. THERE SHOULD BE INSPECTION AT THIS LOCATION.

Its clean and hygienic, spacious and bright, and the technology is OK, but there is no hot water for foot soaking, no hot towel for foot application, and cold hand massage, which feels bad.
