Ixtapa Cantina & Lounge

The music was really good. Kept me on the dance floor all night. The environment was energetic but not hostile. Good balance and security stayed at the door all night. Good place.

This is a nice Mexican restaurant plus Cantina and I really enjoyed their Friday Mariachi night! All the food was delicious and the service was fantastic throughout. The Mariachi performers change each week making for great variety. Parking is either in paid structures or metered on the street.

Came here yesterday the bar was good the bartenders were nice and security as well however the dj had a horrible playlist did not know how to keep a crowd what so ever. Was really excited to come here cuz I saw it this place on tik tok it looked lit but the dj really killed the mood for me.

Came here last night for dinner and the mariachi show. Our server was super sweet and accommodating, our margaritas and other drinks were super tasty, and the mariachi band was very talented! Our food was pretty decent too - chips, salsa and guac were really good and the rest of our dishes were just okay. Down sides were the fact that all the tables and chairs are foldable....I get from a practicality stand point that this makes a lot of sense, but the chairs werent super sturdy or comfortable for a meal and a show. Also, as soon as the band is finished (which is after only like an hour or so) you have to move out of the way so they can convert the whole space into a club. Once the dancing began, it was SOOOO unbelievably hot in there. We wanted to stay and dance but just got too uncomfortable. All in all, decent for drinks and chips.

Had the Mediterranean Steak Salad - so delicious!!! Make sure to use the sauce that comes with and squeeze the lime - it was the perfect meal I needed. Meat, fresh, tastyService very friendly and there ended up being live music.Drinks also yummy! Had the Granada

A very odd place. We were seated and given menus. The menu was very limited, and very different than what we found on line. When the waiter came, we asked if there was more to the menu, he told us it was merichachi night (it was only 7:30) and therefore they has a limited menu. There were very few people in there. We left, since we wanted things in the full menu.

Trash service. the lady made my friends drinks wrong when we told her she said “move before i kick you out” she was rude to us and when we didn’t tip her for her bad service she refused to serve the rest of our 10+ party and was just being completely rude to us

Had lunch at the Sorriso pop up kitchen at Ixtapa cantina, in Pasadena. While visually the food was beautiful, flavors were just average, not exceptional.We had the Valencia paella and the Margherita flat bread. Both beautiful to look at but fell short on seasonings. Just a little tweak will go a long way. Great effort.

Ate at ix Tapa twice on our vacation, one lunch and one dinner. The lunch was typical Mexican fare, and was all very good. For dinner, it transforms (at least on our visit) into a more upscale atmosphere with a fancier (and more expensive) menu. Dinner was also very good. Service was great for both, and we had no complaints.

Great place to go and have some fun like Friday after work or the weekend when they have different type of music food is ok micheladas has good taste.

I celebrated my birthday here with a large group, about 25-30 of us. I spoke with Eddie a couple of weeks in advance, he helped me set everything up from out of state. I got 2 bottles, and we had an open tab at the bar. They DELIVERED!! To say the least. We all had the best time, music was great, bathrooms were clean, drinks were good! We ran into 3 small issues while there, and everything was sorted out quickly and correctly. Security was excellent, if I find myself visiting again on this side of town I know where I will be going. 1000% recommend if you are celebrating your birthday!

Ok we drove all the way from fresno to visit this placesBeer bucket we saw on instagrams were $25. We git there 5pm and we consumed food and beer till 10pm when the dj started we ask for a beer bucket $46 plus tax $49 …. We ask them why they promode $25 bucket and they saiy is to take people attention but we end pay $159 for a one plate dinner 4 veerans a bucket RIDICULOUS HIGH PRICES AND STIVES nasty food we emd not eating it … we got up to dances at 10:30pm and they clean our table with a full beer bucket that we had there and seat someone else aBad experience never again so disappointed bad okaces to go and visit

Great entertainment on a Wednesday nite! Douglas Roegiers sings classics. Outside cafe with great cocktails and food.💞 I felt like I had left Pasadena and was on vacay😁🎉

There are 3 servers, 1 bartender, and a host. The place is empty. They moved from their old location (Bar Celona) and was directed here according to the address on the old place.Unfortunately, the paella (Valenciana) wasnt good. The rice was instant rice (Im a chef) and the whole dish was under seasoned and was oily as hell. Had to drain it on one of my plates. I dont mind oil/fats, but it shouldnt be almost a soup.Regarding how slow amd ovwr staffed they were, I tried to get my servers attention because I needed more drinks, but I went and got it myself from the bartender (I might as well sat at the bar).I still tipped the guy 15% (I calculated it) since Im also in the same business but it was not deserved.Will not come back to this place EVER again, in this is fixed otherwise.Such a disappointment. If you want an evening of dancing with no cover charge before 10:30 this is the place. They play a mix of club music and there is enough space to dance. You can pay for bottle service to sit closer to the dance floor. The drinks were average price and quality. Its located in the old town Pasadena area.

Stopped in for Lunch and had some fantastic BBQ. Super quiet had the time, luckily for us, but the staff were super nice and checked on us. The space is large and looks like a great night spot as well. Highly recommend!

March 2023 - Friday night, St. Patricks Day around 1030pm. $10 cover charge.Ambiance - It was very warm in there. Was on the outskirts of the dance floor and could barely dance but still felt very warm.The womens restroom was a mess, a super long line, had 3 stalls. 2 out of 3 toilets were overflowing and were not flushing.The music was so so.Parking - Parked in a structure.

It was a cool i just happened to be in the area and I decided to have a mechelada to kill time. It was worth it I was able to watch the dodger game as well as other games that were being played they had plenty of TVs to enjoy all of them. Cool spot nice vibe Ill be back.

The place is in a good location, the food was good and the mariachi show was awesome. The reason for 4 stars is the seating for the mariachi show, they were the cheapest Ive ever seen and very uncomfortable

Had lots of fun and the Mariachi band (women only) was awesome! The mariachi show lasted almost 2hrs but I went by so quick since it was lots of fun! Drinks are ok but not worth the price. They didnt have much alcohol. I recommend pregaming if you dont want to spend too much just on drinks.

The girls in my family and I had an amazing time. We were trying to find a place we’re we could catch up, have good laughs, eat and dance. This place met our needs.

Super fun atmosphere. Great Latin music and hip hop mixture. I suggest not wearing a hat on weekends to nit have trouble coming in. They occasionally have dress codes.

Ok this is a brutally real review. I review the what i see and experience. Well first off this is the restaurant from down the street. Barcelona. Ixtapa was a dive. Like 54 just latino version. The place has good drinks i give it that. But the prices come on. 2 mojitos and guacamole $50 come on and stingy on the chips. I wish i should have taken a pic but honestly there cheap on the chips. Ya like I said the mojitos were good this place is just good for the drinks. Thats it . The service was horrible the waiter would come by then would disappear. When i asked for the check brought it to us. About 20 min went by and no waiter they were not busy. I got up and gave my check to another waiter. Sad i had to look for the waiter to pay my check. This is probably the 2nd worst experience Ive had in my life. I like to go out and have a good time but this was the second worst experience in my life. It looks like I wont be returning to this place. But this is my opinion. You can make your own choices. I am being honest honesty is the key.

I was a little confused by the name of the place. I believe they changed it recently but its now Hawg Heaven or something similar, dont quote me. It sounded Asian, so I was confused on why they had mariachi ( I was invited here)...Friday Mariachi band was excellent and took requests. I got the carne asada plate ($40). We requested salsa and they only had bottled salsa... That was a little disappointing for a Mexican place. The bathrooms need a little renovation, the paint is coming off. Staff was nice.

The four stars are simply because i have never tried their food. However, the drinks are good and the bartender that has attended to me every time I have gone, has always been the best company. I tend to usually walk in there already tipsy with other drinks in my pocket and have never been asked to leave them behind nor throw them away. Couldnt ask for better company than someone whom i can speak with and have a good laugh along with good drinks.

We didnt dine there...we went for the dancing afterwards. We had a great time and I recommend reserving a table, for sure. Would definitely go there again, if were in the area!

Got in line before they required an entrance fee at 10:25pm. The bouncers in the front purposely waited until 10:30 to let us in so they could charge. It also wasnt busy inside. Used to love this place too.

Wait staff was great. I had the Sorisso burger and it was cooked perfectly just the right medium doneness that I like. It was on point. When the burger is this good, you dont need to put any mayo, mustard or catsup in it. Plus there is a live jazz band playing. How awesome is that?

This was advertised as “Sunday Evening Dinner and Jazz” There are something like 4 restaurants housed in the space. Hawg Heaven bbq was the restaurant name attached to the evening. The food was mediocre. The music was very loud, not jazz at all, and not very good.

Went for the Friday night mariachi show with 2 other couples. You need to make reservations ahead of time. My strawberry margarita was made perfect not too sweet. Dinner and appetizers were delicious. Service was great. And the mariachi show was amazing. This was my first time attending the dinner and show. Ill definitely be back again.

Terrible experience tonight at this place on 9/9/22 @11pm... tried getting in with my friend and he happened to mention that he was local and patronizes the business on a weekly basis. The doorman took offense to this statement and literally refused entry. I stepped in and tried to reason with him and he explained that the statement I am local was offensive to him and his partner and that he had the right to refuse service. I fully agreed with him on the part of the right to refuse entry and wanted to leave but my buddy wanted to check with the manager and explain the situation. Long story short we left peacefully but promised to follow up. I felt discriminated against by the doorman and I hope the managementlooks into this complaint.

Delicious food and drinks. They serve lunch here and its way better than King Taco! Plus no lines!! We come here every week. Nice atmosphere and you can watch your favorite sports channel. The service is excellent.

Went there for the mariachi show. For the price I expected better than fold up chairs and tables with a cloth draped over the top to sit and enjoy dinner and the show. Staff was friendly and helpful, and food was pretty good. The mariachi band put on a good show for about an hour, and then bounced. Its not the most inviting venue, because they begin transforming the place into a bar/club as they are preparing your bill, so youre rushed out the door into a bunch of doormen who look like local toughs. All in all, its decent, but I imagine you can find better elsewhere.

This place needs to try again. The hostess seemed bothered by us walking into the establishment. The food was mediocre (guacamole has more tomatoes than avocado) and is way overpriced. If you’re going to charge more than $20 for a plate of Mexican food, it should be better than a taco truck. Although our server was sweet, everything seemed like an after thought. Won’t return.

We stopped here late night on a whim while vacationing in the area. It was one of the highlights of our trip! We got small plates and drinks, it was so tasty and a great experience. If I ever find myself back in the area, Ill definitely need to come back!!

Came here not knowing what to expect thinking we were just going to a bar dressed super casual apparently its a club aswell! I had a blast! Made new friends danced the night away we had our own VIP section. Everyone was super nice. Will love to come back soon!

I had my bday party here and my husband got us bottle service and let me tell you there service sucks!!! Not once did they come back to check in on us the security had to bring us more ice!!! Also please triple check your bill they try to sneak another tip/gratuity on the when it already comes included please be aware I’m glad my husband caught it on time and when he questioned it the stupid waitress couldn’t answer him I wonder why!!!

I went to IX Tapa last night to celebrate my birthday. The last time I was here was in May 2017. I spoke to Walter who was able to help me reserve the large upstairs lounge area. When we arrived it was not quite time for the club. We checked in at the front. Rogelio the manager greeted me & informed me that we had been upgraded to the VIP lounge area. We got to sit & wait in the upstairs lounge area until they were ready. Rogelio himself came & escorted my party to the VIP lounge area. Everyone was very attentive. The waitress was so awesome & security kept checking on us to make sure we were doing ok. One of the best experiences ever!! Thank you IX Tapa staff for making me feel special on my birthday.

We drove from Orange. The place was almost full when we got there so its best to get there with extra time to save a good table in front of the mariachi, which performs great btw! The food was very tasty. We ordered from a fixed menu and the options were really good. The server was friendly and on point! We had a great time! Once the mariachi is over the place turns into a club so if youre not into loud music make sure you gather you stuff quickly, like we did, lol.

Fun place good atmosphere, but it does get a bit crowded for the club portion. Also when you buy bottle service, if you run out of juice you got to pay for more. Unlike many other clubs where they keep bringing you juice as long as you still have liquor. Other than that I would have rate this place higher.

Went here for mothers day brunch. The buffet was not that great. Chicken was good but others were mediocre at best. 37 dollars can get you so much more elsewhere. Ive been to pretty good seafood buffets that were half that price. Of course the main thing people came for was the mariachi band and they were entertaining but considering you can view them outside the restaurant from the side walk I definitely would not that pay that kind of money again. The chocolate fountain was cool but it was way too sweet to cover marshmallows and churros with. Would not recommend unless you are desperate to see a mariachi band play.

Friday nigh: Repeat music after 2 hrs. Bad Bunny and Pitbull played repeatedly, some Hip hop, a mix of Grupo Firme, but turned into dance mix. No merengue, salsa, or anything else. Dress code is casual. Lots of people with jeans and t-shirts. Drinks are decent. Casual place for a chill night. Atmosphere is chill. One main dance floor.

Great service, the bartender was really nice and my piña colada was exactly how I like it. There was a mariachi and everyone was having a good time, after the mariachi the DJ started playing very good dance music. The only problem that I see here its the restrooms because its small and not enough for a big crowd. This place is very special to me, on my first date with my boyfriend 3 years ago we came here and since then we keep coming to remember that special day.

Great variety of music, a lot of drinks to choose from, Angel is a great guy the greatest bar tender, staff is really good.

Each part of this experience got worse as the night went along. One of the doormen was rude to two of us, the bartender didnt want to honor their drink special, the layout of the dance floor is poorly designed, the music was outright awful (seriously, this made us to leave, do yourself a favor and dont hire the djs you did on 2017-12-07)...the crowd wasnt the best looking either.

20% TIP AUTOMATICALLY ADDED TO BILLS.I came here with a group of friends and the waitress was a rude and seemed like we were bothering her. Found it odd since all we where ordering was drinks.We asked for Patron and the shots were harsh and not smooth like it usually is so it was obvious we werent given Patron. She kept trying to push a $250 bottle on us and we declined so she probably switched out the tequila.When I got the bill, her attitude made sense. A 20% tip is added to the bill so there is no need for them to go above and beyond to earn it. Im not going to sit there and argue that in front of people, just not going to go back again. I do believe in tipping and am a good tipper, but it should never be added.Also, I wish the DJ let the songs go longer than 45 seconds before skipping.

Staff was no where to be found.. I had to get up and order my beer at the bar..even though I paid 30 dollars on some app. For dinner and a show.. still got charged for my drinks and my coke.. food was horrible no where near authentic food. Chef is definitely taking quality off the menu. And the DJ needs some new and updated music.. caught myself yawning and I wasnt the only one..

Good music, good vibes, and a ton of fun. Went for the $3 beers, but the beers were just little 8oz cups. Hilarious when the bartender gave them to my group. Overall, still a good time and Id definitely return.

Went to celebrate my friends birthday, upon arrival ordered 2 Adios. I myself manage a bar also and the audios that I received was just about half and oz of well vodka, squirt, sweet/sour, and Blue C. Now either this club is robbing people or this “bartender” needs more training. Oh and let me mention each drinks was almost $15. I don’t have a problem paying but at least make the damn drink right. This just killed my night and will NEVER COME AGAIN!

Never experienced the inside of this place but I definitely never plan to. The security is trash here. I was asked to throw away my water bottle before entering. There was no trash around so he asked me to leave? Lol the hate is real here. Not with the negative energy. I’d be more than happy to leave ✌🏽

I have been going to Ix Tapa for many years now. They have the best sangria in Los Angeles they offer it in a pitcher and comes with alot of fruits. I enjoyed it with garlic mussels as well as there seafood Paella. There service is always great and friendly staff. I highly recommend Ix Tapa to anyone.

If I could, I would give this place 0 stars. The food was horrendous, outrageously over-priced, with no real flavor to the food whatsoever. Whomever is managing this place should be fired. TWO waitresses that tend more to converse than take care of customers in a packed house is not what people expect to find at a plae that is packed and expect at least SOMETHING to be decent here. THAT, was not the case at all. I warm you, avoid this place at all cost!

Always a good time here.. free cover, somewhat spacious inside and has a vip upstairs area.. music selection is well done, especially when radio station djs come and spin for the nite like dj precision! He is the truth on the 1s and 2s.. the drinks are fairly priced and the service is pretty good

Drinks cost too much, the food was cold and no flavor & no spice. They do not pay for parking validation, try to include the gratuity tip into the sub total, and still ask for a tip. Its only place to hit the dance floor. AVOID IT like the plague. Did I also mention the staff was very rude.

Yeah....was excited to try out this place but i was dissappinted. The menu had a very small selection for a saturday night. The prices to the food are way to high for the quality. The pictures of their food does not match with the pictures they have online. AND they serve way to little for their 20$ entrees. Take my advice and just go to the Cheesecake Factory 😚👍

We went to watch the Mexico vs Sweden world cup game at 7am which was probably different for this restaurant since they are more of a bar. Anyway breakfast is not their strong point so I wont rate that. What I was very disappointed with was their customer service when we arrived they made us throw away our coffees that we had just purchased, fine. But then staff members, or friends of the staff, showed up with coffee for their whole group and nobody made them throw it away. Even worse the manager that was standing at the door who made us throw away our coffee walked over to the friends table and said I was about to say something but then realized who you were It was very frustrating and a clear double standard where restaurants are usually trying to please their customers this restaurant said f...you

Visited from Cincinnati. I love the decorum. The hip hop was awesome. The DJs spin different kinds of hip hop as well. I love trap music but I also love old school and they provided both. I danced for hours!!!

Never ever leave your credit card open at the bar Wednesdays nights. Bartender Sophia gave up $165 drinks to random people with my open credit card . She thought they were part of my party. I was alone !!!! Not professional at all . Be careful with her Sophia (white gal with white/blond hair .ixtapa its a great place Im fair. Yet tha staff are not. No apologies nor a free meal for the inconvenience. Please be careful with Sophia and dont leave your tab open with her !!!!!

Came here for my birthday. Security at the front was rude (short bold latino). Douchebag told me to pull my pants up but my pants were at my waist and not baggy at all (I have never sagged in my life). Place was super crowded and extremely hot. I was legit soaked in sweat in the 40 minutes i was there. My group was also annoyed with the heat so we just left

Food wasnt too badd prices were a little high but over all the experience was decent it turns into a night club at night which I was on aware of they have really good parking $10 all night nearby parking is really good for any area in the surrounding counties of Los Angeles. Cant go wrong

This is a great place to listen to mariachi. Every week or two there are different mariachi that play. The drinks are solid. Im not to fond of the food but their taquitos are quite filling and are really great tasting.

We went here for my friends birthday and the food was good. The service in the other hand was terrible. We were rudely removed from the table that we had reserved. When we question the staff, they answer unpolitely and with attitude. Will never go here again.

Not good. There was 2 dollar taco special advertised. But when inquired they said it was in house only and it would take 15 min. So it felt like they didnt want to honor the special and their advertising did not reflect dine in only. Also friends asked for the special and they said her tacos were different than the special because they were bigger. Seems like they is bad customer service.

Went here for Cinco de mayo (first time) thinking it would be fun. First of all, I didnt see any drink specials. As far as the crowd goes some of the females in there were ratchet some woman in her late 30s yes LATE 30s ok got attitude with me after SHE wouldnt move to let me pass to get a drink. I would NOT recommend going here. Agree its a ghetto crowd.

Friday nights are great for Hip Hop and Raggaeton. Tuesday nights they have salsa and Bachata. Only thing is that the dance floor is hard concrete so not too good for dancing salsa or Bachata specially for the ladies since they have to spin around. No cover on which is great!

The food came out quickly but was rather bland. Food prices were fine but beer was higher than places nearby. I ran into the bartender in the restroom and he left without washing his hands.

Ok hang out bar. More of a club scene than a bar. Location central to Old Town Pasadena Colorado Corridor. If you like people twerking around you...this place might be your shing ding. Has second floor bar...reserved for parties....usually a make out session as your ordering drinks. They have food menu options...not place for social gathering to have conversation....more of a place for dancing and pick up spot. Just saying.....

Food and drinks are way OVERPRICED!!!I was there to celebrate a birthday with my family...But we were rudely asked by a bouncer that we had to go so they can set up their dance floor!!! We complained to management but they did not seem to even care... management stood there with an idiotic look on there face!! WOW!! NEVER going there again!!!

Last night being Halloween was the worst I’ve ever been treated short Latino and his friend guarding the door where so rude not only that , but one of them said F$@&? You and the other one called me ugly. All I was saying was it wasn’t fair because they tried telling me they were not letting people in anymore and they let two people in that where there before us. I told them how is that fair and the guy said I didn’t let them in he did and so I was like ok I’ll ask him so I went to his friend while this guy cussed me out for NO REASON and I go to his friend and he tried telling me that they were here since a while ago and that was not true we got there at the same time then he said well they went in because they are good you’re ugly man... and he closed the doors in my face.. I Have NEVER been thru this in my life ! Honestly this place needs to find better security if they don’t they might tell off the wrong person that has connections that can get this place to close down. This is WORST they really ruined my whole entire night. If I could put negative starts I would.

Do not plan to eat here. Stay away from the SHRIMP TACOS ($8), which are a rip off and tastes old.The guac and chips were nasty, too. They use OLD OIL for the tortilla chips.The service, however, was pretty attentive but only AFTER we got our own silverware.

2/02/2020, so I order a drink and tacos, 20min wait for 3 tacos , no way. Elle next time check on youre customers. Over all my experience was not pleasant. This was my second time being at ixTapa and hopefully they work on Communicating. I went to Taco loco after all.

Cool to bar hop! But one night the bar tender she made my drinks taste like a teaspoon of whiskey and water :( ! I had to give 2 drinks back! Now i have fun everywhere around here and make this my last stop @ 130! LOL

Went for the Mariachi night and had such a blast. The food was amazing and the live music was so entertaining and lively. I definitely recommend coming here as a date night!

The Service was one of the worst I have ever experienced. this is my first review of any establishment and I have to warn other consumers to go else where. had the chicken burrito, chicken pizza. the pizza was an appetizer, which came out after I eaten the burrito. the pizza dough was frozen dough, not fresh made pizza dough, it look and tasted like frozen pizza from a school cafeteria. the chicken was so dry that the salsa couldnt help add any flavor.

The atmosphere is that of a sports bar turned cantina. The food is affordable. Portions are on the smaller side. Taste is average. I had the chicken tostada. I would not order it again.

I truly love this zoo, I always see so many creatures Ive never seen, I really enjoyed the gorillas and lamas on the dance floor, the handlers really know how to feed the animals , but I think they put some sort of upper or something because they were so wild last night , thank you for the experience Ixtapa!🕺🕺😂

Ive only been here Fridays or Saturdays. And its gets pretty turnt. 😅 Latin vibes mixed with old school vibes and dance party music. Drinks are priced as youd think.

I used to work as security here 10pm-2am several nights a week, I was usually the only Armenian in the club,and as security! So I assumed naturally I wouldnt be the most popular person there,man was I wrong,the Hispanic crowd showed so much love and respect that I found myself emerging my music taste outside the club along with making Hispanic friends and developing a whole new kind of respect and love for the Mexicans!!! Te Bo te!

This place was great 👌. First Mariachi Night that needs to be advertised more. The guys are great. Great show! The food was Delicious 😋. And the club afterwards was a great time. I will be back soon.

Use to love coming here but now there calling last call and then immediately kicking everyone out, 1:25am last call, (*goes up and buys drink) *enjoys drink, five mins later, okay guys its 1:30 am and everyone get out. Like seriously I was getting kicked out and couldnt finish my beer. Dont anounce last call and then kick everyone out 5 mins later. Had security watch me and my friend drink out drinks while pressuring us to hurry up because they close at 130 am. DONT GET DRINKS LAST CALL.

A nice dancing club/bar playing mostly hiphop with some cumbias and rancheras Saturday nights. The DJs do a great job keeping the croweds dancing. They also have a mariachi group performing some afternoons.

Came here for the Tuesday night salsa class - and can I just say it was a blast. I was really hesitant coming into this since Imn not much of a dancer. Bobby G was an awesome teacher and made sure everyone got the steps right. You have the chance to really put your learnings to the test since the dance floor downstairs becomes an open salsa session after 9:30 pm.

They charge you whatever they want just when you are about to get in, they go from $20 to $40 bucks! ( with out previous notice ) That is only to entrance, once you are in the bar they suddenly raised the drinks prices a dollar more ( consider the drinks are enough expensive already ) some how the security staff feels the owner the the place wich is embarrassing. With so many restrictions inside and unexpected surprises i will definitely spend my money in a real higher place. See you never Ixtapa.

Came here for happy hour to catch up with a friend. The place looks great, staff is very nice and the food is pretty good. The prices are what makes everything better!

It was nice. Atmosphere is chill until 8 then it turns into a nighclub more than an actual cantina. Still had a good time though.

I can get a chicken quesadilla (food poisoning) for less than a bottle of water?! A bottle of water is $5!! Rude bartenders wont serve you water even if you buy a drink which is illegal. Save yourself the hassle and party somewhere else where the service is good.

The live music was a little too loud but thats usually the case with live entertainment in any place and the food more than made up for it.

Nice Mexican food. They have a Mariachi band play every Friday and Saturday nights. The show is free and well worth it.

Coming back from the Los Angeles Convention Center we decided to choose Ixtapa Cocina to celebrate, we waited 15 minutes before someone approached our table just let us know that the kitchen was closed and they could not serve us for 15 more minutes, I was the host for my party of three, and based on the notes this place posts in Instragram I wanted to show off with my family but not at this place we just left

Ok first place is pretty good Ive always liked it Ive always had good service here but the last time I went I was really upset the crow after instructing everybody that she couldnt serve them shots anymore she went ahead and served a customer right next to me a full round of shots I was pretty upset but I guess its just who they want to serve the shots to even though they said that they couldnt because it was after the hours that they could serve shot whatever

I was here couple of weeks back for the first time, I showed my ID at the entrance and just stepped in one guard stoped us right before paying my entrance fee and told that his “eyes”are on us I felt weird and he said something else I couldn’t hear properly because of the loud music I asked him to repeat the question twice and then he Apparently started saying that “you guys don’t speak English right are you terrorists? Where are you from? And he started searching us forcefully saying that let me see if you guys are carrying guns.” I don’t know what’s the name of that guard I don’t wanted to spoil someone’s birthday, so we just stepped out. ix Tapa-is this is how you do business? Is this is how you treat your customers? All I can say is that security guard was the worst I have ever seen. And I will not recommend this place.

I BOUGHT A TABLE AND 2 BOTTLES, the door man would not let me back in. Claimed to get the manager 3 times. And let me freeze outside without my jacket while my friends/phone were inside... WORST NIGHT EVER. I will never recommend this place.

Chill spot. Photos made it seem more restaurant like. But on Sunday when I went if felt more like a chill bar with plenty of room to dance.

Ix Tapa Cantina is hosting an event tonight, Thursday April 21st, by South Bay Open Carry, which is a regressive right wing group committed to letting people carry around firearms in the open. If you dont want to be surrounded by rednecks carrying weapons, dont eat here.
