My husband gave me a couples massage as an early valentines gift and we had an amazing experience. The girls were super sweet and did an amazing job. I couldn’t stop talking about it and we can’t wait to go back. The price was great and they didn’t ask or pressure us for tip (which they obviously deserved a very good one). Anyone who’s left a bad review because of tipping clearly is cheap and shouldn’t get a service if they can’t afford to give a tip for the service provided. As mentioned in other reviews, the walls are thin and you can hear anything loud going on. We realized we were accidentally too loud when we came in and suggest you come in quietly to avoid disturbing other guests.

Excellent place!!! Went there today for a couples massage and would highly recommend it!!! These ladies were amazing!!! Magic hands for sure 🙌Definitely making this a part of a routine for self care!!

My first massage ever was today , it was a very soothing and relaxing experience , i definitely plan to go back again!

I recently visited a massage place, and the experience was nothing short of incredible. The atmosphere was calming, the staff were attentive, and the massage itself was both relaxing and rejuvenating. I left feeling like a new person, and I highly recommend this place for anyone in need of a little self-care.

Massage was great, but the customer service not so much. She didnt like our original tip amount so she pressured us into tipping more. The tipping options she had were 15%, 20% and 25% but the amounts were very incorrect to what we paid, so it seemed scammish. Based on that confrontation alone I wouldnt feel comfortable going back.

The massage I received was great!! loved the service it’s self, other than that the receptionist was HORRIBLE! I had a groupon for $140 for a couples massage and she told me it was $140. Once we got there she told me the couples room was an extra $15. I didn’t say anything about it although she knew the massage was for a couple. So I payed the $155 and we were rushed to pick a scent for the oil. After the massage the receptionist JUMPED out her seat to show me the percentages for the tips. I signed a tip that was low on purpose to see the reaction she was going to give me. She complained tremendously about what I put as the tip and tried to pressure me to put more. I explained to her after reviewing the reviews online on tips that she can’t do that to customers and expect us to tip what is expected when attitude and miscommunication is in play. After arguing for 5 minutes she continued with her attitude and wasn’t trying to listen to my point, so I therefore left the tip I put and walked out. If people know better, they would know exactly what to tip which I did & was going to change the tip if she was more understanding of the principle I was trying to explain to her. However, she didn’t and messed up the tip for the masseuse. If they wanted an expected tip they should include gratuity in their prices. Never again. Fix your receptionist and the service would be 10x better.

Was a little skeptical at first cause there are some bad reviews .. but when I tell you how great this place was amazing I felt lighter coming out they focused on all the spots with the most tension you pick your own oil fragrance hot stones they ask you if the pressure is good enough for you and keep checking if there doing okay to your liking through out the massage they do neck shoulders back legs arms hands Was definitely a great experience and plan to go back 😊

The massage was great but my husband paid a big price. We had to pay $15 more dollars for a couples room. We were begged at first to leave a 20.00 dollar tip which turned into them begging us for a 40.00 dollar tip. The place looks run down and unkept when you walk in. I didnt feel that comfortable considering the price we had to pay. All in all over 200 and the begging made me feel uncomfortable. We naturally leave tips but this was too much pressure. Oh yeah, and the pictures on here are not real pictures.

My husband and I got a couples massage here yesterday for Valentines Day and it was great! I really liked the music selection and the oils. The ladies who did our massage were very sweet and used just the right amount of pressure. As mentioned in other reviews, there isnt a ton of sound-proofing but it wasnt super distracting to us at all. Thank you :)

Purchased through Groupon. I would have given this place five stars BUT the only down side is that they force you to pay a tip. For 1 person you have to pay a $20+ tip and for 2 people you have to pay $40+. The massage was nice but this will be my first and last time. I don’t like the feeling of being pressured or finagled. Also like all the other comments they gather together at the door to reinforce tip paying.

I just finished getting a massage here. When you first walk in the lighting is dimly lit for a very relaxing environment with soft music playing in the background. I got a full body deep tissue massage and it was wonderful! So were all the women who work here! I feel great and the prices were very reasonable as well which definitely helps. I didn’t even have an appointment…I gave them a call and they took me in right away. I definitely recommend coming here!

My mother and I stopped by for my first body massage and it was an AMAZING experience. Everyone was very nice, they let us choose what oil we wanted to use and used hot rocks. I highly recommend and will be coming back.

The massages were great, but the Groupon offer appears you get 2 massages for the price for 50 min each...like who would ever pay the advertised price of $147 for 50 min massage. Also walls are super thin and they do pressure you into good tips. I definitely wouldnt drive the hour to go back.

I have been several times for massages at Serenity, and have always found them to be a wonderful experience. I have had several different therapists, each with a different style, but all with excellent deep-tissue work (which is my preference). The last time I went, they were having a special on hot stones, and added the upgrade to my massage for free, which was a lovely holiday bonus.A wonderful place for massage therapy, and at a very good price compared to many of the other spas in town.

I had gotten a super cheap Groupon for here, $100 for a 50 minute couples massage. I didn’t think to read the reviews before buying it because it was so cheap! I read the reviews afterwards and saw so many about the masseuses demanding more tip and so this made me really nervous. When we got there it did look a little interesting with tinted windows and was super small. It’s not the cleanest place I’ve ever been in but it was pretty quaint. The massage was one of the best massages I’d ever had! I would definitely go back, both my husband and I were very impressed by the massages!! The only thing is that it isn’t soundproof so the walls to the rooms don’t go all the way to the ceiling and you can hear stuff going on, there was only one disturbance of another customer checking in which brought me out of my trance for a minute but other than that it was a wonderful massage and the prices are very reasonable!

I have been going to Serenity Spa for several years, although not a high end fancy spa… it is clean, very safe with masks and disinfectant, and most importantly, the therapists are wonderful… friendly, kind and massage you based on your wellness needs. Although I typically see the same therapist, everyone I have seen in the past has been great as well. For the price, you can’t do better in the area. Highly recommend. Make sure you let them know what areas need attention from the start of the massage. Enjoy.

I did a couples massage and it was our first time and we loved it. The people that did our massage were going a little hard but the next day we felt better because they notice our “bad spot” and they kept focusing until the muscle was better. I see reviewers that people complain about tips that they won’t accept $5 or $10. But when I went there I notice that they desirve more than $10 because they Spend an hour doing massage and doing good dedicating on your muscles and all of sudden they get $5. They are not fancy but they have cheap prices. If you want to pay $5 tip, then go somewhere more expensive we’re they won’t complain about tip.

Worst massage I ever received. My whole body hurts after getting a massage from them. Never again. Dont waste your money

I didn’t like it, it’s more expensive than other local ones around, 3/4 walls in each room and the noise filters in , a couple masseuses didn’t really give a great massage , they seemed bored or tired and when you leave they all gather at the front desk thirsty for a big tip which they were not getting from me

For starters we never like to give bad reviews, but walking into this place and talking to the front desk person we didnt get welcome properly. It was my husbands birthday and Im trying to give him a relaxing day since he works long hours and hes exhausted I just wanted him to relax so the second lady that gave my husband the massage did an awesome job my husband loved it she triggered all the points on his back that were sore and he was happy with everything, until he walks out the massage room to the entrance and the front desk lady approached my husband calling him out by asking him and I quote, did you tip her? Now, my husband gave me all of his things because they dont allow anyone sitting in the front so I waited in the car. He was going to give her something because of her performance, but when this lady up front said what she said to my husband and demanded him to do so, I lost it he was very disappointed with her approach from the beginning and it was very unprofessional to just ask for a tip and not ask how was your experience or the massage. But other then that the lady in the back massage was awesome thank you for making my husband day.

I had an incredible experience at Serenity Massage Spa. The spa itself was gorgeous, the team was incredibly warm, friendly and professional, and it was one of the best facials I’ve ever had - excited to have an affordable option in West Hartford for my skin care “I regimen!”

I went in for the 1 hr massage and came out feeling very relaxed! the pressure was just right for me, and they really helped work on my tense shoulders when they felt the knots there. the place is clean and the ladies are nice and make sure you’re doing well throughout the massage

Massage was good, but the walls between rooms were very thin so you heard everything from the other room, which wasnt very relaxing. I also wish they had some scents going on, like a candle. Ive had many massages before at different places, but Serenity was the only place that charged me for a room fee, which was $15. I also felt pressured to leave a hefty tip. I originally did tip and then the receptionist asked for more tip. It was me and 2 friends (so 3 people). Our total was $171 (including room fee) and I left $29 tip which is about 17%, but then they asked for more so I ended up giving about $15 more.

When I arrived the receptionist couldnt find my reservation, had an attitude with me. I waited almost 30 minutes. After the massage was over and I headed for the door, the receptionist asked for a tip as she approached me. I felt my anger reach a high level. I felt bullied into a tip. I only had a 100 dollar bill she stated she had change. She gave me 5 twenties when I clearly saw she had smaller bills. Did she think they deserved a 20.00 tip? Hell no!!!! This was one of worst serviced I received. I would never recommend anyone for their service. Totally RUDE!!! I hate the massage gift was a waste.

First of all , walking into this place the atmosphere wasn’t pleasing at all. The lady at the front desk immediately had an attitude when i explained i didn’t bring cash to pay for my service , only a card. That was one red flag. The massage was ok , except for the fact that i can hear literally everything going on in the front as well as outside of the building. As my massage ended and I’m going towards the front to exit i OFFERED to add a tip, ( tips are optional incase you didn’t know ) and the same lady who gave me a nasty attitude when i first got there took it upon herself to tell me my tip wasn’t enough ! She specifically said “that’s not enough , you need to tip more “ then proceeded to rush me out of the building because she didn’t like my response towards what she said. My first and last time !

Where do I start? It was the most horrible service. My mom and I went there today first of all I made the reservation online, selected the service, everything. When I went there they told me different things from what you see on the website. There were no computers that they can refer back to so you just go there basically as a walk in. Arrived on time and had to wait outside, and mind you, it was snowing, for an additional 30 mins before getting attended to. The therapist barely put the work in. A baby could have done a better job. No pressure was applied during massages, they basically rub your back the entire time. No scents or aroma, no hot towels, nothing!! I’ve had massages done elsewhere before and the therapist went from back to the entire length of your legs, put you on your back and massage the neck and shoulders, belly, down to the legs, applied hot towels etc etc. today I got none of that!! On top of that, upon exit, they gather at the door and literally tell you how much tip they want. Very very poor customer service experience, they hardly understand English so there’s a lot of miscommunication, they only take cash, no computers that save your info, very hassling when you go there, you leave exactly how you arrived and overall the worst!!!!! Would not recommend!!

My daughter and I had a massage day at this location. The massages were rough, painful and uncomfortable. My lower, mid back and neck were in pain, right after. We had the couple’s room which was next to other rooms and we kept hearing loud noises from another client. What was supposed to be a peaceful and relaxing experience, turned out to be the opposite. So disappointed.

I went in for a 20 min chair massage. The only thing I didn’t like was she just pulled out the chair right inFront of the door. I wish I could’ve had more privacy so I could have focused on my massage better. The massage was great though! I will definitely be going back again for a full body massage. I even bought one as a gift for someone.***I went for the full body massage with my mom. I did not feel comfortable with the experience. For one there is not a lot of privacy. They don’t have a set receptionist, so whenever the phone rang or someone came through the door, one of the two ladies in the room would rush out. There is just a curtain and thin low walls between each room, so you can hear everything and everyone can hear you. And well with us being there nearly naked and our massage therapists swinging the curtain open and shut, we just felt like there was no privacy and very vulnerable. We also didn’t get the full vibe of relaxation due to the phone ringing, clients coming in and out, her answering and putting people in other room etc. I personally feel like my massage was too “painful”. I was so tense the whole time. And I’ve been to other places where the full body massage includes your feet. She didn’t touch them. And only spent like 1 min on my neck. 🤨in my opinion they need a set receptionist, aromatherapy, the music louder or through a sound system instead of a little speaker (this way you don’t hear everything else going on in there). If you need something quick and convenient this place is okay. For one they always have availability and the times are very convenient. The ladies are very nice and try to communicate w/ you as best they can.

My massage experience was excellent! I left feeling relaxed with no tension in my back. The therapist listened to everything I needed done and applied just the right amount of pressure when needed. I highly recommend this place whenever you get tied on your back.

Amazing experience. Had so many knots and soreness in my neck and shoulders and walked out feeling like I was 10 pounds lighter. Lisa knew all of my troubled areas without me having to say anything and was very thorough. Will definitely be back!

Great deal on groupon For 50% off. However we had the couples massage & my girlfriends masseuse was sniffing & sneezing pretty much throughout the entire 50 minutes. Didn’t feel welcomed when we walked in, we were just instantly told to write information on a clipboard. The overall massage was fine but afterwards before we left we had full intentions of tipping both of the people that did our massage but we were pressured to tip a higher amount because they’ve been ‘doing this for 10 years & it’s hard work.’ I understand that a massage is difficult but we should not be pressured to tip a certain amount. It should be SUGGESTED gratuity, not pressured gratuity. Left a bad impression with both myself & my girlfriend & we will more than likely not be back because of the pressure we felt to tip a higher amount. The handwritten disclaimer that we have to tip based on the full amount & not the groupon amount, needs to be clearly posted when you purchase the groupon, NOT told to us after we’re supposed to have a relaxing massage before we leave.In response to the owners response: What I’m suggesting is to put it in the reservation that a recommended tip is based off of the full price. Don’t suddenly pressure the customer into a sticker shock of paying literally almost an additional 50% of what the groupon was in a tip.

This is the best massage I have had in the 3 years I have been in Hartford! Same price as Massage Envy but a much better massage. They also wipe off the oil with a warm towel, which is lovely. Very nice people, I cant wait to return.

Ive been coming here for years. It is clean, reputable and always a relaxing experience. If you are looking for deep tissue or neck/tension headache specialist, here is amazing. Every masseuse is excellent. There are a variety of techniques, and i like having the easy option to try something different at a familiar place. Staff goes above and beyond to help schedule, and are always pleasant and friendly in person. Highly recommend!!!

The ladies are sweet and give great massages, but I think the way that they forcefully ask for tips is rude and just ruins your exit.. This is a very poor and tasteless tactic. You almost feel attacked !!

I had the couples massage this morning and it was one of the best massages Ive ever had. The pressure was perfect ! This was the first time Ive ever tried hot stones as well and I will be adding them from now on ! My boyfriend and I were totally relaxed and will definitely be back.

The services listed online (i.e. deep tissue, therapeutic massages) were not what they actually offered in person. At the end of the service, one masseur also asked my friend for a bigger tip. She literally HANDED my friend back the money and told her she needed to tip more. Would not recommend.

YOU WILL BE FORCED TO PAY A HEAFTY TIP!!I bought a couples massage on groupon then had to pay an extra $15 when I got there for the “couples room” which makes no sense at all but okay. massage was a solid 7/10. then on the way out the door we were stopped and asked for a tip. I had $5 so i gave them that and i was told “that’s not enough” at which point they pointed to a paper they obviously created stating tips starting at 15% 18% & 20%. I ended up paying 15% which was $40. I won’t be back and i encourage you all to spend your money and enjoy a massage elsewhere where you won’t be scammed

Got a Groupon as a Christmas gift so I decided to use it today… the “massage” was very rough. It felt like she was trying to knead dough, she wasn’t even massaging. Just kneading & rubbing. Then as I was leaving she tried to MAKE me leave a tip. I told her I would give the lady $10 (didn’t even deserve that) she tried to make me give her $20 & said 15% of $65 was that amount when in reality it’s 23% of $65…. Smh!!! Highly NOT recommended. Big SCAM. Plus, you will be in pain later.

My boyfriend and I had a couples massage and I have to say we were both very pleased with the massages we got!! Both the lady’s definitely knew what areas needed more attention and were extremely polite. It was nice & relaxing experience!

The massages are good however, when you are done they hit you with hidden prices. This happened twice when my best friend and I went. Then there tips are 40 and up! We didn’t mine tipping but it’s how they went about it.

This place is a joke. I got a massage from a manager and she was keep using her cell phone during the massage. I asked her not using her phone and just focused on the massage and she said she need to keep checking her phone since she is the manager. What a joke. Also the quality of massage is very poor as well. It is almost rubbing not a massage. And she couldnt use her both hands all the time since she need to keep touching and checking her phone.I was very upset not only waste of my money but more about wasting my time. It was a complete waste of my 60 minutes even if that was a free session.There is no professionalism and zero passionate.

For it to be in a good area I dont think they force you to tip separately, the price is too high for the environment that was not right at all, it seems filthy

I got a body and foot massage with hot stone by Lisa, she was very thorough, professional and friendly. She was able to get out all the tension in my neck, shoulder and back. I highly recommend her and setting was very relaxing.

Best massage Ive had in a while. Let me tell you, it was firm and through. The music was very relaxing with just the right amount of lighting. The girls know what they are doing. Will be back for another massage soon!

The worst part was they demanded tips. I only had my last $20 which was not suppose to go to the tip. I did not know I had to tip because this was a gift to me. The lady snatched it from my hand. Never go here they were so rude

The employee didnt seem to care and I pretty much paid $70 plus tip to be oiled down for an hour, no pressure whatsoever. They also expect payment plus tip upfront, as soon as you enter. Avoid.

Where do I start?First of all I wanted an hr massage and have to pay for it beforehand. I tip $5 on a $70 massage because it hasnt happened yet, so how do I know what kind of tip I should give? Therapist gives me a hard time for only tipping $5 for an hr massage. Well yeah maybe I will tip you more after the fact if its worth $70.Second of all, they cant apply deep or hard pressure at all so its not worth the $70. I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt but the massage was just soooo bad. Only thing this place has going for it is the music.

They do not say hello when you walk in and immediately ask you for money. Which was not disclosed when purchasing the groupon. I then tried to pay by credit card and she rudely said, “I told you on the phone cash only!” She never said anything about that on the phone. So we drive to the closest ATM and take out the cash we are asking for. When we get back and she asks for our phone number and says we do not have an appointment. So she says she will stay late for us because we had dinner reservations. When we half way there we called to let her know we were on the way and she said ohhh nooo it’s too late when it was working the time period we had discussed. Very unprofessional, would never go back.

Hands down this is the best place in West Hartford. Do not look any further. Staff was very pleasant and friendly. Now the massages……AMAZING!!! My body feels so relaxed. I honestly didn’t want it to end. Thank you for making this a great experience.

I went in for a Swedish massage, and got knows what kind of massage she performed on me. The place was not clean the bathroom had no soap or paper towels. As I was leaving I was asked to leave a tip so I did, and she was complaining about how they work hard (like theyre the only ones underpaid)and the tip was not enough so I was like that is all I have take it or give it back because I need that money that youre not happy with. NEVER GO HERE. THIS WILL BE MY FIRST AND MY LAST.

My experience was really bad, I pay for couple massage $150 and the massage was totally not worth it, it was supposed to be hot stone massage and they dint even put the hot stone for 5 min the lady’s was talking while I was getting my massage and the massage was done I gave them $10 dollars tips $5 each one because I didn’t like it but I was nice and the manager told me that was not enough the I needed to give $10 dollars each this is very unprofessional and rude I don’t recommend this place plus the products they used is garbage the oils and senses they used dint have any fragrance this place is really bad they need to work more on their employees because this don’t look good asking for extra money ….. we are in America people tip vase on what service they get not on what the employees want.

Boring massage…clashing music. Overpriced. You don’t get what you pay for and they become confrontational if you don’t over-tip them. Uncomfortable experience never going back.

I discovered this place whiling I was on my vacation. I had a shoulder pain and backache due to the longtime driving. I got a relaxed massage from Eva. It really helps me to copy with my study-stress and everyday life!!... Eva is extremely professional. Highly recommend!!

Had such a great experience !! Love this place I woke up with Plantar heel spurs pain and I let him know exactly where the pain was and that was his main focus . I got the half an hour massage foot reflexology for 25$ and it was well worth my money 😌 will come back again & bring friends with me . Not the best service but they give a fairly good massage. I wont recommend this if you want relief in some specific areas. But good for a general relaxing massage.

Last minute no appointment severe stiffness in lower back/butt muscles, with such short notice they accommodated my needs I left feeling more relaxed And less pain I would recommend this place I’ve been going to serenity since 2014-2015 never disappointed with the services provided
