High Life Smoke Shop University

I purchased a product from this location, but it turned out to be defective. I went back to inform them about it, but the only solution they offered was for me to buy another one. (7/20/2024)

Such an poorly informed staff. I researched a specific product online, a dry herb vaporizor, and asked their expertise and they sold me the wrong product. Then they refused to exchange it for the proper device and tried to convince me they were the same, even as i quoted directlyfrom my source of information. I always thought this place was way overpriced, but returned because of the convenient location, but I will definitely never come back now that Im out 80 bucks for something I cant even use. Thats just a poor business model and a huge rip off.

Bought a brand new bong, got home only filled it with water to check try it out and it would not pull. It’s like there’s no air flow, spent over $100 for something defective and was told there was nothing that could be done. MAKE SURE YOU TRY THE BONGS BEFORE LEAVING THE STORE! it’s sad because this was my go to shop but they have officially lost my business.

Stopped by here after a quick piercing and went in and Meach is EXTRAORDINARY. he helped me with extra high highlife items. Come I and check them out!!! Ask for Meach!!

I wouldve rated this shop higher, but the new staff just makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. They are definitely way more cold sholdered than the old staff. Their selection is good though.

Rose is absolutely the sweetest! I had to call first thing to check on an item and working in retail I know calling right at open can be annoying. The people here are super friendly and you will always be greeted kindly when you walk in the door. The employees are always willing to help with anything you need. How many places you go these days have folks that are happy to help, ask you how your day is going and want to talk with you? Not many but this place does. Wes is super friendly and a great member of the team. You wont be disappointed with this place.

The manager (short rude lady) was obviously frustrated and having a bad day was extremely rude to me because I was trying to show my husband a bubbler I wanted (which I got along with a few other things) she YELLED at me to keep it over the glass counter (which I was maybe a foot away from) we come to this location all the time as well as a few others and spend a good amount of money and I get treated like a child I don’t know who she thinks she is but someone like that shouldn’t be in any type of customer service job period. If it wasn’t for the other employees being nice and us really liking a couple items we would’ve just walked out.

That place is just great, had a huge selection of almost everything!! The service from Tyla was phenomenal, my god she helped me out alot. Im glad to go into an establishment and find workers who are there because they enjoy the job and not just there for a check.GREAT JOB HIGH LIFE!! 5 STARS!!!

Recently moved to the area and was recommended this smoke shop. Always have had amazing customer service. Tonight, I stopped in to inquire about disposable vapes, and Nick was extremely attentive and knowledgeable about his products. He sold me on a new vape and edibles! Great experience!

Logan, did an outstanding job of helping me find what I need when it comes to essential oil’s and aroma therapy. I also noticed how knowledgeable he was in various departments, like his assistance with me in the oils.Helping a customer in the juice/vapor section, and then taking care of people in the glass section. Logan gave high quality service in a very nice store. Good vibes all around! 👍🏾

I Miss the previous staff. Every time I come here theres new people and they never seem knowledgeable about the products. And the staff that does know about the products only use the same brands. No one is super friendly, they don’t try to recommend products and they seem like they just want you out the store asap.One girl was friendly enough but now I dont even see them.

High life has a great selection of high quality pieces. Every time I go in the staff is super friendly and always willing to help. Last time I was in Bryce helped me out and he really knew his stuff! I visited High Life for the first time today and it was a pleasant experience. Devon was excellent and knowledgeable! I was greeted by another gentleman as soon as I entered. They have a plethora of products! The vibe of the store and the surrounding area was positive and I plan to visit again soon.

Rose and Meach are awesome. Been in multiple times to by Vaps and extras. Noticed there was a lot of turn over of employess but as of late Rose and Meach have been in every time ive gone. Its good to see familiar faces with awesome personalities and friendlyness. Rose is always so friendly and shares which types they have tired or has recommendations. Rose has never steered me wrong and doubt they ever will. Meach is approachable and very eager to help and anwser any question. Thanks guys hope you stick around.

I called high life for assistance and they were very helpful over the phone. Even when I came to the store Brice was very informative and helpful with me choosing the right products that fit me. They even stayed late to assist me, if you live in the area or even if you don’t I would recommend you come to their store & receive the best service of a lifetime !

I absolutely LOVE this place and could spend all day there whenever I go!! Im 63 and it takes me back to some of the best and most fun days in high school! Everyone there is knowledgeable, friendly, cool, and know you after youve been in a couple of times! Just like the Cheers bar! Maria, Anna and Noah are brilliant and so sweet and kind to my special needs daughter, who also loves it there! All in all, you just cant beat this place!

Very clean & nice store. The staff there are very jovial, pleasant, and helpful folks. They have a great selection of incense and other items. Their kratom prices are a bit on the high side, but the particular brand they carry is of very good quality. Would definitely recommend.

The ambience is always welcoming and friendly. The staff are always willing to help. However, Sydney stands out as someone who goes beyond the call of duty without being asked to do so. Shes the absolute best!

The staff at your University City Blvd. location are amazing! Everyone is very helpful and also very knowledgeable of all the products sold there. The 4 employees that have always went above and beyond to help me are Anna, Norris, Firras, and Bryce. Those 4 are so friendly and helpful that I will drive an extra 20mins just to shop from this high life location instead of other locations that are closer to my house.

Absolutely love the glass selections here! By far one of the largest selections available for not only water pipes but also vape liquids, incense and a ton of other great products that are genuinely good quality! Just purchased my third piece from this specific shop and I’ve never been more glad! Anna was a huge help with selecting my piece, she was knowledgeable about everything and able to point me towards the piece I was searching for! This is definitely the smoke shop to stop by if you’re in the area!!

Called before i arrived asking if they had a certain vape there and they said yes, got there and they didn’t have it. i ended up seeing another brand so decided to try it but before buying, i asked for the price. said it was $15. when it came time to pay, the price went from $15 to $20? i told them it’s okay i’ll just go to the north tryon location and they insisted i buy the vape because it works good and lasts a long time. turns out i hate the vape and i got charged an extra $5 smh. also, the sales associate is rude.. i used to like this location but after today, i won’t be returning.

I’ve been coming to this location for a while. To the point where the employees and the store manager know me by name, I was also even hired but couldn’t take the job because of school but that’s beside the point. I am not one to leave reviews but I purchase a D8 Cannoid cartridge, that ended up having a defect. I went back to the store with my pen and an already used cannoid cartridge I had bought there on Saturday (10/09/21). Showed the employee and he call someone that ended saying I couldn’t return it because I had already left the store. Mind you, I live 2 mins from the location (49North). I tried the already used cartridge first to demonstrate it’s not my pen that faulty. I then replaced it with the cartridge I had bought tonight (10/12/21), showing it wasn’t working. I liked this store but the policy in place needs to be change or tell people to bring their pen so they don’t get sold a broken cartridge. That was 24 bucks which may not seem like a lot but money is not given to me for free. Now this is the last time High life gets any of my money. & trust I will make sure people don’t even come to this location. What a shame. And shame on this company for not caring if they sell broken products to their customers. They tried to offer me an “employee discount” as if money grows on trees.

Very wide variety of selection. Mostly knowledgeable staff but when i was buying 1kg kratom for 100 dollars there was a bag of capsules beside it and i was told that too was a kilo and that it was the same price for to a sale. Needless to say i spent 50 extra dollars on something that shouldve been half price. It was already opened when i realized it. Every other time Ive gone there it was good though. If it wasnt for today, this place would have 5 stars. Its hard to give a place more than 3 stars when you were ripped off for 50 bucks

Came into the store today to see one worker who was busy speeding from side to side to help take care of customers. While doing so she kept letting everyone know that she was working solo and would get to everyone as soon as she possibly could. She handled everyone in the store calmly and politely despite being alone and busy. When she got to me she took her time to give me answers to the questions I had on their selection/prices of kratom even though their were plenty of other people to help. Awesome customer survice! Only reccomendation is to not have one worker working a busy store in the middle of university. Other than that I always love this store and it’s people!

Every time I have gone into the High Life store, Kelly and Chris have always been friendly and willing to help me find the right equipment to have the best experience vaping and smoking in general. They actually spent time to help me understand differences within their products and have always given me great advice. I love coming to High life bc the workers are so nice and helpful with all questions my husband and I have as well as theyll explain and show you how things work, what things work for your needs whether its D8, HHC, etc etc and they always have a very fun selection of water pipes, concentrate tools, incense, rollers, the list goes on. They also get their shipments typically Wednesday and I really love High life a lot! Definitely one of my go to places.

First time to Highlife and I must say i was impressed that had a larger variety from Gummies to Pre rolls. The employee Bryce was very help and an awesome guy.

I normally dont have any issues with the university area high life. However, I went in on Friday and bought a vaporizer battery and the guy told me I had a week to bring it back if it messed up at no fault of my own, such as anything mechanical going wrong. Well this morning, my husband tells me that it wont work now when it worked fine last night (the red light wont turn off and the button is sticking already). I call high life today telling them about this issue, reminding them the guy told me 7 days.. but now the lady is saying that if I dont bring it TODAY (day 4) then Im gonna have to take the loss. When I told her I had to work at 4, she basically told me oh well. I live an hour away from this place.. I will not shop here again, they dont stand by their word or their products for that matter.

This is my favorite shop! They always have a wide selection of all the cool new stuff thats out and their staff makes you feel like High Life family. My most recent purchase was a Wulf Mod Vaporizer, I wasnt sure which vaporizer I wanted when I went in there, but they helped me find the best possible product within my budget (there was a wide selection), I couldnt be happier to have found this shop!!!!

Here in Charlotte NC High life at university is the best hands down. I go there and only there for my kratom and cbd needs every week!

Pretty nice store. Had a decent selection of everything. I would like to see them carry some heady glass but I usually always find what im looking for.

Will never buy another mod box from here again. Was sold a faulty one from Vapress that quite after only one month. Was told there was nothing they could do. My only option was to ship it back to the manufacturer - in China! Now, even after following the care instructions I was given, it wont even cut on or light up. Not satisfied at all.

DO NOT GO HERE. their disposable vapes don’t hit and they don’t even exchange it for you. I would rate it 0 stars if I could. I paid $20 for a vape and walked out the store and opened it and it didn’t hit. Walked right back in and told them and they said “all sales are final”

RUINED CHRISTMAS !!! Employee wrapped glass water pipe but did not have original box, so she found comparable box. Never removed until given as Christmas gift. When we opened and unwrapped the pipe, the bowl separated from the stem!! Store would not refund or replace as policy stated. Taking my business elsewhere!
