The Chez Est is well known for being one of the most welcoming and communal bar-restaurant-cabaret locations in the local LGBTQ community. The wonderful owners have renovated this treasured space over the last few years and feature a wide array of fun entertainment to enjoy. Their local and headliner drag shows are top notch and featured on a BRAND NEW professionally lit stage. They host weekly and monthly themed events year round, including their fantastic Chez Legends drag competition. Their staff and customer service is wonderful and their food menu has several delicious and affordable options. The bar is always stocked with drink options at reasonable prices, on par with all other surrounding establishments. They offer comfortable table seating, TV screens all around for additional views of the stage from a far, a private and enclosed outdoor patio (with seating, tables, umbrellas, and a fire table), gender neutral bathrooms, a comfortable lounge area, ATM, coat check, and a great sound system. They have a medium sized parking lot that sometimes fills up on busy nights, but there’s also plenty of free on-street parking adjacent to the building (on Meadow St). This local LGBTQ owned business is worth your time, and you’re sure to have an enjoyable night at The Chez Est, where there really is something for everyone ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Small gay club but super fun and nice interior design. Reasonably priced drinks and it is not overly crowded. Had a lot of fun there!

Aprip5th was the 1st time I went and it was amazing the atmosphere was great and so was the people. Definitely will be returning to this club.

The atmosphere is beautiful. The food is great... portions are reasonable and quite tasty. The associates are kind and engaging.Ive watched I believe the owner and I must say I like his energy and style.Ill be back.... definitely a place to think about to get away from it all... if you know what I mean. My toes are in the water; what about yours?

Pretty disappointing that they charged us $20 per person to go into the special event Wuff.. and other friends were charged only $10. Sad that this is the only place in Hartford... surely not coming back, just not worth it to pay a high price to go in, and overpriced drinks.

I am really disappointed their motto is Theres Something For Everyone At The Chez just I just tried to go and couldnt because they are not handicap accessible. I was really looking forward to going tonight. I guess people with disabilities dont count in their definition of Inclusitivity. Do better!

Checked out The Chez a few weeks back with a friend of mine who used to go there all of the time back in the day. I must say, I had a blast! There was a drag show the night we went with only a $7 cover, which isnt bad in my book at all. I had a few drinks that were a little pricey but were well made. Checked out the dance floor and danced with a few other people, everyone is so welcoming and inviting there, really made me feel at home. We will definitely be back soon for more drinks, dancing and drag!!!

Amazing talent, no doubt. Ladies, you guys are seriously one of a kind. But Probably one of the worst bars/clubs Ive been to. a guy punched a woman in the face and bouncers let the guy inside. Blamed the woman and friends she was with for starting the fight. Did not do anything to reprimand the guy that physically assaulted this woman and actually threatened to call the cops on the woman.

Dont let the exterior shy you away...very nice establishment. First time visitor which did cause a little awkwardness for me. I did not find the locals all that open to conversation. The drinks were good. The drag show I thought was a bit strange except for the performer who did a number on memory of a recently passed friend which I though t was well done...the rest, well lets say mediocre ar best. Id give it try as you may encounter a completely different crowd.

I just love this place!! I can not say enough about how the owner has really made this place look amazing while offering great food & drinks. Friendly safe service, great karaoke hosted by Joey! I enjoy coming here week after week!

Ive been more than welcome and more than ecstatic everytime Ive been. I first went just by myself and everyone was so happy to introduce themselves and get me involved. Ive been at least a dozen times since and i will continue to go as long as its here! 🖤

Giving it one star for the free parking and because some good people in the community perform there. I asked the DJ if he could play Bruno Mars or Ariana Grande and he said the Chez Est owners only allow him to play techno music. No Hip Hop allowed. I said, but neither artist I requested is Hip Hop... The response was the owners dont want to bring in the wrong crowd. Thats usually Grindr code for no blacks, no fats, no Asians, no femme.

Meh. Mostly a quiet older crowd... definitely not worth paying a cover for! Stick to the beer, cocktails are weak and expensive. Rough neighborhood, but the place is cute enough inside.

I have been coming here for quite some time. have only been frequenting again recently after a bit of a hiatus and i have to say: tasteful decor, decent drinks, often good music and a fun and friendly staff. cmon down!!!

Really cant say enough about this bar , Great staff, excellent food and crazy fun times. Very friendly .... Ive Been going to this bar for over 25 years. This bar is like the gay version of Cheers A must to visit if your in Hartford, you wont be sorry.

Like it here but is a huge bummer they let Chanell go she was always a bright point of being here kind of unbelievable

This was my coming place. I may be dating myself but I use to go to the Chez when it was located next to CHM. Thats where I met my first gay friend K-WALLSPlus you cant forget the bartender Donnie R.I.P.

Amazing recent renovations make the Chez Est the PLACE TO BE. The music, entertainment, and so much more makes it such a fun place to be!

Very lowkey bar more of a crusing spot during the week. They also have latin night on the 3rd sat of the month. Cheap drinks oh yeah food is served too.

Great customer service. Always friendly and a great atmosphere. Always have a good time when I go here. I would totally recommend this place!
