Very awesome place. My friend brought me here and I definitely had a blast. Everyone dresses the part too. Cowboy boots, shorts flannels cowboy hats, I love it. The Ratio was great too women and men. They have a second floor with pool tables, food and they have a mechanical bull also. Definitely will be back.
The music was bumping great country music. The crowd was beautiful. It was crowded yet not packed. They got bars, 23 bars, 23 dance floors. Its off the hook for country person off the hook country westerns and country bar, one of the best Ive ever been in straight 5 stars. Im telling you now
First time at this place. Staff was perfect. Music was great, dancing was great ,2 dance floors, up stairs has pool tables and a bar. If you gonna get food bring cash. Snack bar style food. Was really good. Beer and food prices are really reasonable. Only thing I will say is it HOT AS A MF!.. no a.c. was felt ..those fans dont help for anything. But overall I would still comeback..would have been 5 stars if wasnt way to hot.
As a guy with two left feet I was hesitant to give this place a try. As soon as you step into this joint you feel the vibe. The decor is very unique and very country. There’s a dance floor to practice as well as main floor to strut your stuff. Swing on in for a lesson or two. Plenty of drinks and finger foods too
Arrived from out of state to go on a line dance cruise. Looked for the closest place to go line dance before we departed the next day. Wanted food you had to go upstairs to order. Worst taco salads we ever ate it was all cold after a 20 minute wait. The cooks all looked like they didnt want to be there or asleep. No ambition or zip to do a good job. Place looks like its seen better days. The guy giving lessons did a good job, this really the only positive thing I could say
Disappointing its costs $10 cover charge to come in here and drink 5 dollar bottles of beer they do not have one single beer on tap they only have bottles. The current management should rethink their goals in life this place is filthy mess that hasnt been cleaned its dirt seats are torn on chairs paint is all flaked away. This place was let go and milked for what its worth and now its ran down the cover charge is what will make me never come back here again talk about gouging I get here at 12 and they close at 2 and it cost me 10 just to walk into the door
I love the cowboy subculture that exists here. Everyone is so nice and cheers you on while you try hanging onto that bull. Lots of activities here for a night out including pool, beer pong, bull ride, and That being said they are militant about people knowing the dances so it’s not so novice friendly. But yeah the cowboy culture here - it’s strong. You get what you’re looking for.
Fridays have been plagued by (not completely taken over, but almost) by a rude , tattooed , glaring biker gang. They brandish their knives , scowl at people. Not a friendly Country vibe at all. Also this bar would be more fun with less line dance and more two step! Update : way less Biker gang members nowadays . Thanks ownership, for trying to get them out. Keep it country !
Rusty was the best and whatever they pay him they should double it because he is worth it. 5 stars for rusty
Last night was the first time Ive ever been to this place country dance classes lots of single women couldnt ask for more I love this
Wednesday night by 10pm was dead. Friday night’s crowd is people in their 50’s, college kids, & the noncountry, nondancing, drinking crowd. There was barely any two-stepping. The band was decent though.
I gave this bar a chance to earn my business i had $50 to spend tonight when i areived they demanded $10 just to get in the door i turned around and left and found another bar that values and apprecistes a local a couple times a week who doesnt try to gouge them just to walk in
Great service and drinks. The food is ok and a little over priced.
Like the reviews all say, its pretty much only line dancing. For some of the songs, couples danced around the line dancers and did their own thing. Theres a second smaller dance floor that could be used as it stayed mostly empty on the Wednesday night we went. We made a song request because we came here after our wedding but they couldnt play it because the DJ said he wasnt a real DJ and didnt have access to the internet. And Google says theres a mechanical bull? Not when we were there.
Manny is a great bartender always makes great drinks and is super friendly
Dress down or cowboy up this place does not disappoint, 2nd floor drinks is where is at....
If I could give this 0 stars I would specifically to the bartender, Julie (5’8”, long dirty blonde hair, was in two braids tonight), who lost my card and then BLAMED it on me! She snapped back with so much attitude, saying that I closed out or my card must be in my pockets. There was NO apology or even and attempt from her to find my card. The absolute worst. If you go here, avoid her! Never ever give your card to open a tab.Update: They found my card in the floor and it turns out she (Julie) was taking shots with a well known customer (I personally saw she take two separate shots of Jager). And yet it was my fault my card was lost? She’s a joke.
Super fun country bar! Had a blast!
This is very classic county bar. Customers were all dressed up for the occasion. I was here on the Saturday of the memorial weekend. DJ was very interactive with the customers. Instructor was available to give dancing lessons. This is a very fun experience. Customers and servers were very friendly and willing to reach you how to dance.
This is my wife and I first time to check out cowboy country and man were we impressed. We are born and raised in Texas so to drive down to Long Beach and get a place that really knows country music and dancing was incredible. We really enjoyed our time and danced until we couldnt walk. It was such a fun atmosphere and the people were super nice plus. We even had dinner at this place and let me tell you it was delicious and fresh. I cant wait to go back!
Food was really good and drinks were better. Service was awesome, the lady that took my order was really helpful and she definitely matched the vibe! I’d recommend checking this place out.
If you are looking for 2 stepping come Saturday nights. Different DJ on Saturday Wednesday and Fridays DJ seems to have a thing for line dancing. Its a great bar, great bands, great priced drinks and the friendliest people you will ever meet.
Well if you are from California, you would probably love it. They pretty much do line dances all night.like all night. They play horrible west coast swing music, but good 2 step music. And the band is not half way bad . The atmosphere is good, lots of people. Only half seem too know how too partner dance the other half only line dance. Girls are a strong 6 beer 7.
My friends introduced me to this place when we went for a bachelorette party 😂. I wasnt familiar with it at the time but turns out they give 2 dance lessons on Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm and again at 8pm for free! The admission is free if you get there before 7 which always seems to be a huge struggle so I would just pay the $5 (from 7-10) to avoid having to rush. Its $10 after 10p.m. So they only have bottled beer which isnt great but it is what it is. They also dont have any special drinks just the basics and they are okay but they get the job done. What I love about this place is the ambiance of everyone line dancing and live music by a country band. I am a Mexican American lady and even though its mostly white older people, I still enjoy breaking the boundaries and putting myself out there. Maybe more people from all backgrounds should explore this place!
Very nice club with 3 dance floors & 2 bars. Live country bands several nights of the week. $5 cover charge all night long. Reasonable drink prices. Theres a gift/clothing store there you should definitely check out.
Nice vibes and cool people!🥰
If you’re looking to actually dance with a partner you better go to another location because around here the dj and band only play line dancing. Like 99% of the time. Also older crowd is the majority here if you’re into that. Came from out of the to enjoy some country dancing but all I got was line dancing. Disappointed.
So much fun! Very nice, large country bar with three dance floors, pool tables, food, second bar upstairs and live music on stage. There is even a cute gift shop inside with sexy stuff and they will teach you how to line dance. I prefer to watch and sip on my whiskey! Yeeee hawwwww! Oh yeah dont forget to check out the mechanical bull!
Country is not my thing at all but I went for a birthday and had a great time! It was a different experience , bartender was real nice and nachos were great. Had fun trying to square dance but also had a great time watching everyone else dance as well
Pay the cover charge to enjoy a night of drinks and dancing, but if you dont know the steps, youll get pulled off the dance floor because all the prim dancers dont want ammatures on the dance floor. So practice up before you go or just stay off the dance floor. This place is just good enough for those that can afford the inexpensive drinks and the dancers that have to stay in line. No dress code, so go ahead and wear your daizy dukes like some of the rest. The kitchen is good and the fact that Veterans are remembered is honorable. One star for the nice bar tenders. The only friendly folk in the whole place.
Only reason I come to this bar is for Rusty.
Anywhere they don’t require vax cards or stupid face diapers is a huge plus. Keep up the good work fighting the fear mongoring media and the democrats. Good for you! Five stars all the way and I haven’t even been inside yet.
This is a legitimate Country Bar where the real ranchers from greater LA come out to play. Its bigger than you would expect, and like I said, its legit folk. If youre into country dancing, it goes all night. If not, its still fun to watch, and they have an upstairs area with pool tables and a kitchen offering lots of deep fried goodness (try the fried zucchini), plus a second bar and dancefloor.
A place having almost non-stop entertainment, Cowboy Country has a variety of Dance functions during the week mostly at night and on Sunday theres a West Coast Swing Dance Club that recently started there as a transfer from the Golden Sails Hotel. Lots of good food and great music. Expensively priced food and a fair amount of parking.
So I have been at Cowboy Country since 2014 and I must say as a person who was so nervous on entering the doors for my first time, I was welcomed and put at ease. I have always considered CC my second home. ALL employees there (security, DJ, food kitchen, gift shop, shoeshine, bartenders & soundman) are all awesome people. Great bands, great people, friendly environment, lots of fun, and I will ALWAYS consider Cowboy Country home away from home with people who will go out of their way to make you feel welcomed.
My friends and i were looking for a place to party and came across cowboy country. Man we had an awesome night. This place has the friendliest people who know how to party. Will definitely be coming here again!
This place is fun. I had a great time listening to live music and dancing on the side cuz I cant dance! There was a bunch of ppl dancing all the perfect steps though-wish I could! Definitely want to come back.
More patrons between ages 40-60 on a Sat night. The band would sound better with the right acoustics. Its fun to watch dancing, but hard to see them since its off to the side, rather then being in the middle.I guess you work with what you have.
Warning, they play country music here....all ...night...long.LOL. Came here a few times with my sisters and wife who love country.Bartenders could be friendlier. Music is great. Dance moves are something to be mastered. I have no idea what im doing. You may want to come prepared. They also have some classes available so get there early
Cool place to hang out with friends. Everywhere you look, people are having a good time. The drink prices are low and the people are friendly. Heading out to the dance floor with friends or by yourself is no problem since its all line dancing.
This is the best place to go to have a good time. Friendly staff, good people, Great food options, live band, and a Mechanical Bull ride on Fridays. The dancing is amazing, it entices people to get involved, and they also have lessons!!
This is a fun place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city day. Reminds me of growing up around horse farms and ranches in my youth. Two stories two bars a food ordering station 3 dance floors and on certain nights a mechanical bull to ride. Sundays is even really nice for more low key old school 70s outlaw country, though this only happens like one sunday a month.
It was an ordinary Friday night. I made the trip out to Cowboy Country with my brother, as we had done for years. Memories of years of good experiences at Cowboy Country would come to a screeching halt on this ordinary Friday night. After a great evening of dancing, conversation, and good company, last call was announced. The lights brightened, and people began to migrate to the parking lot. Shortly after reaching the parking lot, my brother began to argue with a man over some something not worth arguing about. This man became extremely aggressive, and I feared that he would try to take action against my brother. Keep in mind that the following sentences depict events that took place immediately adjacent to Cowboy Country Security guards (within 2 or 3 feet). As any loving brother (and sane human being for that matter) would do, I attempted to stop this man by telling him he needed to stop immediately. I was met with a fist square on my face which shattered my nose and broke several bones in my face. After hitting the ground, bleeding profusely, this man jumped on top of me, and began choking me. I was choked on the ground for a total of one minute (immediately adjacent to Cowboy Country security guards) before the man was pulled off by an unknown person. One of the security guards on staff took the man who assaulted me into his car and began to drive off. My brother attempted to take a picture of the license plate on the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, A COWBOY COUNTRY SECURITY GUARD exited his vehicle, took my brothers phone out of his hands, picked up my brothers body, and threw him to the ground from a height of approximately three feet, deleted the photograph of the license plate, then proceeded to break my brothers phone. Luckily, I managed to snap three clear photographs of this security guards license plate through my blood stained phone. This is absolutely ridiculous, completely unacceptable behavior, and not to mention CRIMINAL!! And to think this person is literally paid to protect the people and premises. Absolutely pathetic. Needless to say, Cowboy Country lost two very good customers that day. I will never go back, and suggest you stay away as well. 1 star is WAY too good for Cowboy Country.
Best line dancing honky-tonker Ive been to in my Life first started coming in 97. When I take my line dancing vacations from Tucson Borizona I initially come to this bar as I know itll get me out of any funky State of mind Borizona has put me in. You are so lucky to have this venue to party at. It is truly unfortunate management doesnt have it open more often perhaps on Thursday or even Sunday. I would come on Thursday night just to run the Ranch out of business.
FIVE stars isnt enough! This is where I met my wonderful hubby...back in 2004...still BIG TIME in love!! Oh,you wanna know my review?? This is an AWESOME place to hang with friends and whoop it up on the dance floor!! YEE HAW!!!!
I rated it at 5 because this just be the place called Silver Bullet I think. Now all they do is have a bull and line dances? Isnt the two-step done anymore. I went to one place in Santa Ana that had a country night and they were line dancing to rock and roll songs and all the girls were wearing short shorts boots and cowboy hats thinking they were country. Lol
Boy this place is one hell of a time! I wasnt sure about going to a country bar but I had a hell of a time. good strong drinks good atmosphere good parking . Met a guy who works there named John was very friendly not a typical cocky rude bar employee . .....and the cherry on top the girls !
This place is always fun to play. Owner supports the arts by hiring LIVE music along with a DJ. I’m very grateful to him.
Best Honky Tonk for dancing and meeting up with friends...love the DJ calling out dances 👍🏼
Great bands and dancing floors but the place has filthy carpet that desperately needs replacing after decades of use and whatever has spillled on it! The place needs a major overhaul and cleaning. Seems like a health hazard! Especially the carpet that doesnt even look like carpet anymore that should be replaced with wood flooring as its to bad to recognize! So many complain about it and even feel sick after being there! Lots dont go due to that reason! Theyd get many more customers if they only cleaned it up! Starting with replacing the old worn filthy carpet and upgraded the bathrooms!
Saddle up, Shawty!Yee-haw!! Slip on the cowboy boots & cutoff jean shorts, its line dancing time! Cowboy Country Saloon is a honkytonk conveniently located in North Long Beach, across from Winco Foods. Drinks are flowin, toes are tappin & the Jellos jiggling.Cowboy Country is open Wed, Fri & Sat 6pm - 2am. Those in the know arrive before 7pm for no cover, with $5 cover afterwards. Live music from various bands begins at 9pm. For those new to line dancing, there are workshops at 7pm & 8pm for instruction on 2 dances. On my visit, we learned Just Gettin Started & Funky Donkey. The instructor goes through a quick tutorial, but dont be discouraged if its too fast paced for you. Just have fun with it & youre guaranteed to have a good time.Ive been taking line dancing classes for about a year, so I have a familiarity with the basic moves. However, there are some great dancers on display strutting their stuff. Man, I want to be able to dance like them. I wish I knew the steps to everything, because I dont like being a wallflower. I did get to bust out Just Dance, Designated Drinker & Power Jam, among others. Oh well! I guess its an excuse to visit more often. And, with no cover before 7pm, why the heck not?A full bar & a kitchen offering the usual bar suspects like nachos are available. For those daring (or drunk) enough, a mechanical bull taunts you with a subliminal Hey, stupid! You think you can ride me? Joo loose!!. At the time of this review, I havent slipped on my big boy pants & given the bull a whirl, yet. But, I will! And, Ill turn that bull into a heifer, if you know what Im sayin ;pThe dance floor is a little cramped, but we managed just fine not to be hit by an errant elbow or buttock. The DJ kept things grooving, including my first attempts at 2-steppin.Free parking is available in front of Cowboy Country Saloon in their own private lot, along the street & across at Winco Foods.Good times are to be had at Cowboy Country Saloon. Low key & unpretentious, and thats the way people like it. Cant wait to come back for another night of dancing.Whatcha waitin for, pardner?? Mosey on over to Cowboy Country Saloon for food, drinks, dancing & fun. If someone asks if you want to Tush Push with their Achy Breaky Heart, just hope they were referring to dancing and not something else ;pHighly recommend!
Went dancing & played 8-ball there about 3-4 nights a week (1990-1995) - movie scene from Thelma & Louise filmed under right-hand balcony (by the bar) - be it ever so humble, aint nothing like the cowboy 2-Step (a.k.a., the Foxtrot) & West-coast Swing - free dance lessons there every night were invaluable, too !! God bless the Silver Bullet (uh, I mean Cowboy Country)...
Great place, people and music
Brad Johnson is a great band.. always brings out a crowd. Country line dancing bar at its finest.
First time at this place tonight with my boyfriend. I wanted to surprise him because hes always wanted to go to a place like this. The food wasnt great but for dancing is awesome!!!!
In the middle of suburban/industrial Lakewood sits a random red barn. Walk in, and you are transported into Texas: live country music, cowboy hats aplenty, and line dancing. On Fridays, they have a mechanical bull. If you are looking for something completely unique and different, come to Cowboy Country.
One day 12 years ago Jason and Tiffani introduced us to this bar and we never left. Since day one we felt right at home and felt the family love. #ilovethisbar
I love this place! Great DJ, live bands and great atmosphere! Love that they offer line dance lessons on Mondays.
Definitely not a date night bar, you can clearly tell its just a place for singles to find a hookup for the night, smh
Great place to go, unless you go alone. 2 separate dance floors, and alternating DJ and band. Definitely a must visit
So friendly, their food is great n their drinks are strong.... security makes sure it is a safe place to have fun with no drama!
Love this place. Its my home away from home. Best Country dancing place. I have been dancing here since 2009.
If your into country music then this is the place for you. I love this place everyone is really friendly and the bartenders are awesome and they always have the best music.
Found this place on Yelp and headed there with my boots and wranglers on and had a great time!! This is the real deal and loved it! My new favorite spot
After 18 years of dancing at CC I quit going. CC went WOKE, catering to gender neutral line dancing, very few couples dances so men and women dont dance together. While its called Cowboy Country, not much country dance or music anymore.
This is not a honky tonk or a so called Cowboy bar, it is a palati class with a heard of people with off the shelf hats and pointed boots. What happen to men and women dancing with each other?
The only real country club in the L.A area. Live bands, dance lessons, good folk all around, need I say more. Open Wed., Fri, andSats.
Cowboy Country is my home away from home. I have been going there since 2009.
Great food, awesome prices, bad date! 🤪🤣
Great bands!! Good drinks, friendly folks, and its always fun learning new dances.
Love this place. It is going through a lot of changes, but the regulars and staff nake it great. New bonus, outlaw country sundays.
Great environment lots of beautiful people great music awesome dancing and cheap drinks you cant beat that
Very friendly people, cheap drinks, always a new county band, decent food.
Good fun place, live bands, very country atmosphere, had a great time
Great honky tonk country bar. No frills.
Lot of fun!
Three dance floors, live music intended with DJ and DJ requests. Fun loving crowd, drinks are pretty cheap
Always more girls than guys there. The drinks are cheap. And I always have a great time.
Its a great place...security great and respectful....bartenders are great and funny...i recommended it to any one
Great time everyone is very friendly. Ive been coming here since August 2019
Forgot to close my tab. They did apply charges and close it for me. showed up the next opened day and they couldnt find it anywhere. No one was able to help or direct me as to where it could be.
Nice place I cant dance it but enjoy watching at least
Best country Western bar in Southern California by far.
Loud music hurts my ears to be there nothing has changed in that place in 11yrs except the flooring looks worse.
Great music, cold beer and pretty girls.
Fridays and Saturdays are always lit AF 🔥🤠💯🍻💥
Dancing is always epic, gift shop is a hoot, and the extra games are a plus.
A bit pricey but really a kick a*s place
Best country music bar around. And the only one around
They never answered their phone. Said that they were open Wednesday night.Bull sh!!
I think cowboys are the best on the Earth as a human being and s..
It is the best Country bar in So Cal...
Love the music, the majority of people are dancing because they know the moves
Love it just to far for me to go all the time
This spot is amazing. Killer atmosphere.
Enjoyed the music and lots of space to move around.
Great Music, great dancing, good times!
Some variety of laid back country atmosphere love it
Love this place. First impression was great.
A great place for music and line dancing!
Fun vibes, live band, and dancing!
Please jus go have fun n talk to everyone
Lots of fun. Just somewhat run down.
Always a good experience. Really good customer service
Never felt so out of place in my life
