Hip/Chill vibe at Jet Set Underground. It’s in the basement of 205 E, but has a sleek and modern feel. The bartenders were friendly. Several rooms with a large dance area. Bar area was cool, by the entrance. Several high top counters and a few places to sit.

Ive consistently had great experiences here every time Ive gone. It can get a little packed and crowded while also getting very hot and sweaty given its nature in a decently small basement level, but it hasnt disappointed. Drinks will be around the same ballpark as other similar spots but the cover charge of $5 is vastly cheaper than anywhere else. Good for a younger adult audience too but not exclusive to such. All around queer bar with an often excellent music selection being played. Parking is difficult so I often rideshare here.

DJ who played on June 8/9: asked if he could play a song by a lesbian artist, he very rudely asked me “what do i mean” and i suggested an artist and he said laughed at me and said no? no suggestion of anyone else, just laughed at the thought of making the set cater to more than just white gay men.

I had one of the most racist experiences ive ever had in my life here (and thats saying a lot). im a queer black woman and ive been here many times with my gay friends. I had not had one drink and was waiting 20-25 minutes. thats not a big deal at all when its super busy, but the problem was the bartender (a bald, self proclaimed 50yo) was serving people who got there well after me before even acknowledging me. i wasnt sure for a while, but after 3 people who i saw walk up after id been waiting get served, i tapped the bartender on the arm (without saying anything). i didnt get a word in before he turned to me and immediately launched into a diatribe about how im a bipoc straight woman born in 1994 (none of those things are true). when i asked for my drink, he said fine what do you want angrily. i told him, and he angrily said go away. go away. no, get out. get out. i was not at all drunk, and i saw him serve a number of very drunk white girls with no problem. if i was overserved, he wouldnt have asked me what i wanted after i got his attention. he literally acknowledged that i was bipoc (what would that have to do with anything??) i left because i refuse to be someplace where im so disrespected. as a queer woman there are few places we can go, and im sooo sad to say my friends and i can never come here again.

The gentlemen behind the bar really had my back tonight. Never waited for a beer and when my lady lost her sparkly purse, first guy I asked knew exactly where it was. Birthday girl home safe w all items. Thank you.

Great modern and hip gay bar just across the river from downtown Minneapolis.

Awesome bar! The bartenders make delicious, strong drinks. My only critique is there are not enough places to sit, but other than that, loved it.

The straight to gay people ratio is crazy. Also please fix the air ventilation system - this place gets more humid and hot than my gym’s sauna.

Cool pace but they kept my receipt and gave themselves a nice tip even after I asked if I needed to sign / add tip!

When it comes to dancing it hit the spot.
