Pravda

Pravda is a night club in downtown Wilmington. I was in town visiting family and this is one of the places we checked out for the last. Hour. It was $5 to get in. Drinks were about $5-10 for a shot which was good pricing. The DJ played a diverse set of music from pop, hip-hop and some Old reggae song. The club itself is very diverse and welcome all people.I did here there is some days where things can be a little wild in here and it made me double think about going but I will admit that wasn’t my experience at all.

The most amazing acoustics I’ve heard anywhere in the United States and I used to party a lot, and I’ve been to all kinds of nightclubs and bars in many different states. No one sets up acoustics like Dustin. He and his wife are the most wonderful people. Very welcoming, kind, and classy. I have wonderful memories of all of Dustin’s clubs, like Odessa, Pravda and the new one. Every time I went to Wilmington / Wrigtsville Beach I would definitely go to this club. Always had a good time.

Love this place! Easily best club in Wilmington. Music is top notch, sound system is unmatched, & ive never seen so many beautiful women in one spot. Anyone leaving a negative review was dealing with personal problems not how they were treated or the cost of a good time at Pravda.

Place has great staff and one of the best places to go downtown Wilmington if you are looking to have fun, grab some drinks with friends and have a great time dancing. Speaker system inside rocks, sounds so good with the bass pumping loud it’s only right to have a great time at Pravda. Security is very helpful if need be. Between the DJ, bartenders, security and doorman always treats everybody with respect. Go visit Pravda night club if you are In wilmington and want to have a great time

For years, Pravda has been a favorite club to enjoy high-energy dance. I have always enjoyed the diverse crowd, great music and welcoming staff! Pravda is a must-stop for me on any downtown Wilmington party night.

Im surprised this place hasnt been shut down in years. Or even been sued for its treatment and environment. If you have money, like rich rich folks, theyll gladly help you, remember this before you enter. Also, if they find you, be careful who you are around with. This is your warning. This is my experience. dont like this review, shouldnt have treated your customers like such. Wish it would be better.Edit: Maybe if someone is asking for help, you dont kick them to the curb. But hey, you see the person not paying for drinks no more their phone dies and they dont know where they are so they ask for help knowing theyre drunk, you kick her out. Thats your business. Have a better judgment. Hopefully the recent news, you be willing to call for assistance like the local police. Dont want to see or hear about something bad happening to anyone, just want people enjoy life without fear or being aggressive in nature.

I have been going there for 13 yrs, the only best EDM and Top40s club with the best sound and light setup I have seen or experienced. Staff is amazing, music is always fire and amazing DJs! Love Pravda, you haven’t checked it out yet you are missing out!

I would highly recommend that you take some of these other reviews with a grain of salt. Some of these people leave 1 star reviews over the most petty things.Ive seen some things go down there but guess what? THAT IS LITERALLY EVERYWHERE. Theres is not a single club Ive been to where there wasnt a fight or something at least once. Heck, Ive seen all out brawls at weddings before! What matters is how the venue handles it and I say theyve done quite well.Ive been in and out of clubs for years and Pravda was one of my first. I still remember the first time I went there years ago and my friends and I had a great time. The atmosphere is unique and most certainly interesting with their Russian theme, and even an old Rpg and AK in display cases above bar. Talk about cool factor! There is also plenty of seating options throughout the venue that dont inhibit the dancefloor which is rare in my opinion.Another thing I loved and still do is that the bartenders are not only attentive, they also are not stingy with the alcohol!As a musician, I was highly impressed by their sound system. Pravda is the only cub in Wilmington Ive been to that has such a professional sound system. They have multiple well placed subs so you can feel the bass and their other speakers sound crisp and clear. Not only that, it is one of the only places around here that has a full professional DJ booth complete with CDJS (if youre big on music festivals and clubs you know what that means) which is great because the sound quality is on point and is perfect for when they bring in different DJS and headliners.Pravda is in my opinion a great spot and the people there are even better. The owner is almost always there or nearby and you can tell he truly love this business and he cares for the people there. Cant wait to go again!

Very clean and chill atmosphere. the staff was very friendly and fast with our orders. great music, we always have so much fun. 10/10 recommend!

Me and my wife make Pravda is our last stop of the night for at least 2 bottles of Champagne and a couple of shots Every Thursday, Friday & Saturday. They have the best music and sound system around.

My sister made the mistake of patroning this low budget, tacky club/bar. They did not I.D. her or any of her friends. Should have been red flag number one. While my sister was sitting at one of the tables, completely minding her own business she was attacked by 8 of the club goers. If you’re reading this, I know what you are probably thinking. No way someone was attacked by 8 people completely unprovoked. Well that is exactly what happened to my sister and if you knew her, you would understand just how absurd this entire situation is. To add insult to literal injury, not only did the night club NOT contact the police, they kicked the attackers out with my sister allowing my sister to continue to be attacked outside of their business. Luckily for her, the police just so happened to drive by and see the attack. My sister was maced. Her hand is broken as well as her nose. All she was doing was sitting at a table. Vibing to the music and sipping her drink while her friends danced. This place is a disgrace. They handled the situation horribly. This place is NOT SAFE and clearly has shady and likely illegal business practices. If you have any class or integrity, maybe you just don’t like being curb stomped while trying to enjoy a night out. DO NOT come here. As for “provda “ count your days. This will not be the last you hear of this horrible mismanagement of a situation. My 9 year old could have done a better job.Edited to respond to the “owner”You did not I.D. Anyone and we have proof of that so please stop the lying. My family and I do not frequent your disgraceful establishment. I have never been there myself so not sure where that second lie came from. Great downtown bar with an amazing staff. Awesome vibe, amazing DJ’s, great drinks. Highly recommend if you’re out on the town.

Wish I could give this place ZERO stars… I thought bouncers were there to keep things calm, and help people when needed but one bouncer here in particular was super aggressive with women when they’ve legitimately done nothing wrong. Super weird 10/10 would not recommend especially to women!!

My friend and I went to Pravda a few weeks ago. A guy came up to us and picked up my friend’s drink and said it was his. I asked him to stop touching her drink and that it was not his. He kept touching her drink. I guess he was trying to drop something in it. The bouncer did not kick him out even after I said yes when the bouncer asked if he was bothering us. Watch out for yourself and your friends at this club. Better yet, do Not go there!

One of my favorite night spots in Wilm. Good music and staff. Dim lit atmosphere that makes a good environment for a night place to drink. Always on my list of place to stop by.

I went with my girl to check out the nightlife here in Wilmington, and Pravda was okay. The drinks were good and bartenders were attentive. However, the music/DJ could’ve been better. The transitions weren’t the best. Okay experience.

If you’re in Wilmington first time or anytime and looking for somewhere to go to enjoy the nightlife then look no further! Pravda is where the night always starts and ends! From the bouncers, bartenders, security, everyone is mad cool as long as you’re cool and don’t cause trouble. I could go on and on but definitely the place you wanna be for the weekend! Won’t regret!

Went last night, Friday night 1130 paid $10 cover for myself and my wife was free got past the red curtain to find most of the bar empty 20-25 people at most. Ordered drinks and took a seat in the comfortable red chairs they have out front then watched the bouncers not charge a cover for 5-6 other guys who entered. watched about 8 women get in for free then leave without even getting a drink. Will not be going back, there are better places to go that didnt have a $10 cover for a near empty bar or bouncers out front harassing the people for the line for the bar next door.

Great experience. Bouncers are very professional and fun, but do not take lightly to anyone who is making an experience difficult. Bartenders are super efficient and knowledgeable. Prices are good. DJ on Friday was fantastic!!!

Every time I go downtown Pravda is a must go. Whether you want to stick around or bar hop its a chill spot. Bouncers always respectful and greet you as you in line. People who get thrown out is because they forget how to act after a few drinks, bartender always on point with their drinks and price. A bouncer threw me and my friend out because the girl he was hooking up with didn’t like us. She also lied and said she worked there. I tried calling the next day, and the phone number was out of service. Very unprofessional.

This is one of my favorite spots in Wilmington. Such a unique atmosphere and great staff. If you visit here, definitely visit KGB around the corner. Same owners/theme. The personable staff is the reason I always come back and continue to recommend this place to friends. A great place to stop in for gourmet coffee or a craft cocktail. Theres really something for everyone.

Best dance club in town! Awesome music, thumping sound system, great light show and people really DANCE! Bartenders are fast and friendly. Come here to dance all night and get swept up by the energy and have sore feet in the morning😁

I like the bar a lot. I don’t like that the security guy told me I was “too close to the DJ” when I had been dancing on the elevated surface with a handrail for 45 plus minutes keeping the vibe going. I’m nice so I moved to a different spot and a girl moved in to dance right where I was. The guy obviously was being sexist or whatever you’d call it and the owner should have a talk on how to treat paying customers

Bartenders were very cool. People here were very cool too. Music was good, but thats subjective. My issue?. I got thrown out of my first visit. I had a few martinis. I wasnt disturbing the staff, or the other patrons, but as I came out of the bathroom, I was grabbed by my jacket and told to leave immediately. Had to ask multiple times to close my tab and pay the place for my drinks. Im not sure if I will be returning, but based on that experience alone, the answer is looking like no

Way over priced at the door when they don’t charge every body. If you dress with a collard shirt expect to pay 10 at the door. I couldn’t recommend a place less. It’s worth waiting in line at other places no doubt. Never been more uncomfortable at a bar/club in my life lol just not the spot.

Literally I don’t know where to start. The door guys were straight thugs and had attitudes before I ever even said anything to them but handed my ID over. My friend who’s 21 only paid $5 to get in while I turn 21 in months and had to pay $20 to get in. The “dance floor” is about 10 feet by 10 feet and no one was actually dancing to the music more like standing around being drunk people. “Wash it off you’re out, take a drink you’re out.” Lmao you are welcome for my service though. Never even considering coming back to this place. Not worth the money literally left within 15 minutes of being inside and my friend told the bouncer how amazing his place is on the way out.

There was an extremely long line this Saturday to get into this place. We ended up paying $50 for me my girlfriend and a buddy of mine to skip the line. Once in the club it seems like there was more people in line than there actually was in the club. It started to fill out there by about midnight 1 oclock there was a full club inside. Good mix of music and we had a overall fun time. Drinks were a little expensive and they did not really have drink specials. The club was also rather small and did not have a stage.

Did not enjoy this club at all. The bouncers are extremely strict, almost making it unenjoyable. This place also attracts a lot of hyper masculine guys who wont leave you alone and that will not hesitate to grab you, but security doesnt seem to care much about that! Theyd rather threaten to kick you out over taking off your Xs. The dance floor is tiny and the music wasnt good. Will not be returning.

My favorite dance club in all of Wilmington! Fast and friendly service, great specials, good music... its always a good time! Their new cocktail menu is absolutely fabulous and the infused vodka never disappoints! Check it out, youll love it!

I would not recommend this place to anyone. We went there last night and the gentlemen at the front was charging people cover very randomly. One of the thing we didnt like was they dont take credit cards for cover charge. If they can take credit for a $5 drink. I dont get why they cant for the cover. Another concern was unfair treatment for cover charge, on our short stay there we noticed the gentleman was just letting some guys go without cover and not others. His excuse was they have a stamp, but we didnt even notice he was checking the stamps. I suggest they treat all equally and take credit for cover charge.

Stay away from this club. My friends and I were hesitant to visit this club because we had heard that the bouncers were strict, overbearing, and violent. Our first and last experience there affirmed that those statements are true.Here is what happened:We entered the club and danced for three hours, and I even saw some friends that I hadnt seen in years. All was fine up until the point I decided to stop dancing. It was nearing 1:00 a.m., and I was tired so I went to sit down near the back of the club. I was completely minding my own business (just resting there), and then I hear someone say youve got to get up, youre causing problems. So, I got up and went back to the dance floor. I was at the dance floor and I felt that I was being pushed from behind. I knew that I hadnt done anything wrong; I had just been sitting at a table propping up my head with my hands to rest a little. So, I turned around to ask why I was being kicked out. I was half way to the front door from the back of the club when I decided to turn and ask. I never received an answer, instead, he turned me around and put me in a CHOKE HOLD! I passed out briefly and woke up on the sidewalk outside of the club in a pool of blood. By the time an ambulance arrived I was quite literally drenched in blood. Whoever the bouncer was, was so negligent that he hit my head against something attempting to carry me out out of the venue in a full nelson with my feet dragging behind (my friend saw this and told me outside of the club). I went to the ER and got three stitches, and now I have a scar right next to my temple.Please consider my story before you go to this club. I ignored the stories in the negative reviews, and thought that something like that would never happen to me. The bouncers really are thugs. Just dont go to this club. No one deserves to be treated like that, and it really is disgusting that this is a reoccurring problem that the owner, Dustin Cook, will not fix.

We LOVE Pravda! This is one of the only places we know of that even offer table service. The staff, tasty drinks, and awesome local DJs keep us coming back to support this establishment. We recommend grabbing a cocktail at KGB first, Pravdas sister bar!

Staff discriminates and charges based on who plans to come in. We paid to get in and then got cut off after 1 round. Bouncers were fake and rude when it was brought up and did nothing to solve the issue.. This place is not inclusive in the least bit and needs to be shut down. Wilmington can do much better.

Charged me $5 to get in at 1:25 am. It was all the cash I had. No big deal. I expected a cover charge to get into a club downtown even though I was simply there to hang out with a friend for a few minutes and be his Designated driver home. I walk in and they wanted another $2 for a membership card. I gave them my debit card in annoyance and the lady tells me they dont accept cards. She directed me to an ATM and I told her never mind and walked out. I wasnt going to pay a $4 convince fee to get cash for a $2 membership card after paying $5 to get in all to be my friends DD.

Been here 2 times. Only place where they charge you 10 dollars to go in and then additional as soon as you get in for a membership fee. Tf? Then we had to wait 30 minutes to get a drink. A rum and coke.... ended up leaving after a few lame songs. No one was really dancing. So basically we spent 14 to get in and only stayed for an hour. Not worth the time or money. Goodfellas was lit though.

Bouncers like to selectively overcharge people at the door if they think there is an opportunity to rip you off. Staff even admitted that its standard practice. Save your money and go somewhere else where you will be treated with respect

I see all these reviews about the bouncers being thugs, which I didnt believe... until my second visit. First visit was fine. On the second visit, a young woman decides to put her hands on me and shove me as I was walking by to go to the bathroom. I wasnt touching her or looking at her. I swipe her hands off me and tell her not to touch me. I then walk away and this thug of an employee decides to grab me by the neck and shove me out... after I repeatedly said get your hands off me, Im leaving, as I walk towards the door. Im never going back there. Go to Ibiza or someplace chill... not this place full of thugs.

Went there to have a fun night out and should’ve rather just stayed in, don’t go here unless you love hearing Ed sheeran and doja cat on repeat until 2am. The security also only charges you whenever you dress up so if your visiting I guess just go in your pajamas.

Brandon Hayes....bouncer/doorguy whatever....likes to assault good paying customers. I complained about a $10 cover charge and I gave him the cover charge. I then stepped by him, tried to go in and he put his hands on me telling me I couldnt go in because of my attitude. So another bouncer walks up and shoves me into the sidewalk and as I turned around Mr. Hayes decided it was a good idea to punch me. Knocking out my tooth, cutting my lip and had to get stitches. I will be pressing charges... This has nothing to do with Pravda. Pravda is a nice club, but I will be pressing charges and he will hear from my attorney. Who ever the owner is I highly suggest you let him go. Not professional what so ever. But as I said earlier. Pravda is a nice joint. I would say every time I visit downtown Wilmington. I swing by Pravda, if Brandon is not let go, I will never step foot in that establishment again

The workers are nice. The music and crowd wasn’t my type but with a couple of drinks everything was fun and I made it my type. The crowd is friendly and full of decent-attractive people.

I really enjoy going to Pravda the bartenders always make my drinks really good and just like I like them. Ive never had any trouble will the people or security everyone is pretty chill unlike someone clubs Ive been too not naming no names

Absolutely awful. Security is straight awful if you know what I mean. Dont go to this club.*update December 18 2018* In response to your reply, no actually I wasnt even allowed in your club after my six friends that were girls went in and you knew I was with them. Your discriminatory, rude, and many other words staff, wouldnt let me in for no reason. But yeah yall knew what you were doing by letting them in and not me. Appreciate your response though

Sadly i can remember this place after drinking. Im new in this area of North Carolina, and wanted to enjoy my friends at a nice place to be with a 1 night enjoyment. But, after so long my friends left me without any notice, since i told them i was going to the bathroom. I tried checking my phone, which was dead. So then I tried talking to one of the bartender ladies for help or any assistance, since im unfamiliar with the place and area. She decide to bring security and kick me out in the cold. Lost and confused, I had a stranger come to me and helped me. Gadly it was a friendly stranger or else i wouldve been reported as missing.

Best club in Wilmington

First time back here in a long time, and we truly had a blast. Everyone was pretty friendly, and the drinks were good! Great music too!

A bar worthy of Vladimir Lenins approval. Cozy atmosphere, great service and the nightlife is turnt. Surprisingly terrific spot for high quality espresso!!

Me and my boyfriend came from out of town. Had good music and a fun environment. Danced for an hour or so, I recommend this place for a fun night out.

This place tried to take my real ID when i left. nobody checks an id when you leave a bar. even let my friend in at 20 years old and gave her alcohol. then took her real ID when she left. never coming back.

I love this place. Good suggestion: you guys should include a Latin Night, (related to music) there is a lot of good bilingual hits that may be interesting to attract latin people along with american. Sounds super cool!

Its okay besides it being 10$ to get in for being under 21, bring a man with you because creepy dudes go in there and will prey on u its weird , other than that it was okay didnt really have a fun time and felt awkward but maybe thats just me so whateva

Always have a good time when Its on my stop. Some of the negative reviews crack me up. Most of it is due to ignorance or not realizing what time it gets going downtown.

I dropped by early and was the only customer there. Good drinks, decent prices, nice decor.

Great staff and quick service!

Paid $240 for bottle service which was a locked bottle of grey goose! They told us we would have an area blocked off with it which they allowed everyone in the area not worth the money! This place is all LIES! Not worth anyones time

Lol havent even been to this place yet but in reading the reviews to see how it is, seems ok but then i read the respones to bad reviews and im sure they will be just as confused by my review as they are all others. The place seems better than expected for north carolina but the nasty attitude from the people who run a business responding to their customers with such poor attitude is really concerning and makes me not even want to waste my time let alone my money.

Literally the best light and sound system in town! I love coming here for their specialty drinks and great drink specials also!

Had my phone stolen here after they took my full beers, I just bought, off of the table and threw them away; leaving my phone on the table and allowed others to sit there.

Awesome experience with our daughter and son in law on their wedding night. I highly recommend Pravda.
