One of the worst hair dying experiences of my life. When making the appointment it was stated that I wanted a split dye and a hair cut. Upon arriving at the salon the stylist had me down for a “pop of color” and no hair cut. I don’t even know what a pop of color is. And neither did she aparently! When I showed her my inspiration pictures she seemed confused. I should have left. I specifically asked if she knew how to do it or if she had enough time. She said yes so I stayed against my better judgment. What I got for nearly $200 is over processed straight bleached hair that doesn’t even go to the roots! AND is all around splotchy and uneven. It looks horrible. I could have accomplished this in my own kitchen. I now have to spend even more time and money looking for an actual competent stylist to do a color correction! I’ve included inspiration pictures and what I received. I would never recommend anyone going here for hair coloring treatments save yourself the time and money, just mess your hair up yourself with the help of YouTube. Then it will be less embarrassing to explain to your friends why your hair looks like that!

I booked this salon for hair and makeup for my wedding. I did a trial for my hair and make up and liked both for what they did. Day of the wedding the contract said the entire wedding party was to be there at 8 am but when we arrived only 2 stylist were there. The stylist doing my hair as well as 2 other bridesmaids showed up nearly and hour and half later. I was told to bring back a bun filler back from my trial but unfortunately the chaos of a wedding I did not have it and despite spending hundreds of dollars for my trial and day of wedding they did not have an extra filler. In the end I would not recommend for a wedding I felt I had the least experienced stylist for my hair and some if my bridesmaid had better looking hair then me, which left me stressed on one of my important days.

Sarah is my #1 nail lady! She gets me— and she encourages me in my love for beautiful yet practical nails. Glitter… chrome… colors— oh my! Sarah’s creative ideas keep me always coming back for more! Sarah’s professionalism and friendship is second-to-none!

I went to Salon East for my first ever professional massage. I went for a deep tissue massage to help with a lot of tension in my neck and upper back/shoulder area. Well, Julia worked absolute magic. I am pretty sure that was the most relaxing hour I have had in a long time. The smell of essential oils (of my choice), soft white noise, and the dim lights made the entire experience even better and relaxing. This isnt even touching on the sheer magic that the massage felt like. I walked out of Salon East feeling rejuvenated and limber.Thank you so much for this experience and I hope for many more!

Love this place. Been going for years. Now some stylists are better than others but still great service. I highly recommend Jamie Lee! I had a coloring with someone else, and there was some problems with it. I immediately emailed and they got back to me asap to find a time to fix it. Great customer service.

Sarah has been doing my nails for 4 years! She not only does a great, gentle job I also enjoy her “pedicure specials of the month.” Always a great experience.

I was looking for a great experience. Come what may, it was my first time at Salon East. My Stylist was fresh out of school, either she didnt understand how I wanted my hair cut or just didnt care. I will never go back to this over priced SALON. What happen to good customer service to gain new cliental.

I love Salon East! I love their Aveda products and the beautiful, relaxing Salon. Salon East has an incredibly talented and knowledgeable team of professionals! Everyone is very pleasant and kind. My personal shout outs: Julia is a spectacular massage therapist, Kenna and Kenzie are incredible hair colorists and stylists, and Tori does a phenomenal job with facials! (I have yet to try their nail services.)If you want ‘big city’ pampering in a small-town cozy atmosphere, then visit Salon East.

First and last time coming. My hair looks almost exactly the same as it did when I went in. Not even close to the pictures I showed her. Almost $200 for a terrible job. Now I have to spend more money to get it fixed. Take my advice and go elsewhere. Do not waste your time or money.

I have gone to salon east for most of my hair appointments in the last 3 years wouldn’t recommend getting your nails done there or hair died. Nails lasted maybe 3 days and my hair color was not what I asked for, the people here will also not put time into styling your hair. Some times okay but don’t put your money into it.

Jaleah did a great job waxing my unibrow I had never gotten it done before and was very nervous she made me feel relaxed and comfortable. It only took a few minutes. Quick easy in and out. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

I’ve had waxing, facials and lift lash and tint done! Jaleah made me feel comfortable at all times and walked me through what she was doing as she was doing it. I would recommend her for anyone with aesthetic needs!

Jamie is the most talented MIRACLE WORKER I have ever been BLESSED to have in my life and Im so thankful!

I had my first ever facial with Tori. Tori is amazing. She explains everything. Gives you her recommendation but doesn’t make you feel pressured. I truly enjoyed my experience and it was all because of Tori. Everyone should get themselves a facial with her! You will walk out feeling beautiful and confident! I’m excited to go back next month.

Have been coming to Salon East for a long time I am always happy with my haircuts and now I am in love with my eyelash extensions that are done by Torie. She is kind, very professional, and does beautiful lashes! I would highly recommend Torie and this salon.

I started seeing Torie for facials before my wedding last year and have kept coming back. She’s amazing. She customizes the facial to my skin needs at that time. I always leave with glowing skin. I also see her for waxing and my eyebrows have never looked better. I’m so happy I found Torie and Salon East.

I like going to a few different stylists. They are very professional. Do a good job on my hair. In & out. More $$ but usually worth it. Wish theyd bring back scalp or temple massage.

I absolutely love Salon East and Torie Buchman! The staff are always so friendly when you arrive and greet you. Torie’s is absolutely amazing!! She pays attention to detail, is gentle with waxing, and always makes sure I’m happy with the service I received. We drive over 30 mins to go to Salon East due to the wonderful service and care received by Torie.

Kassidy is a great hairstylist! Very capable, friendly and calm. It is a calming atmosphere and my hair always looks nice when I leave. She listens to what I want, does not rush and makes suggestions and asks questions to clarify. The prices are higher than other salons but she does not set the prices. Highly recommend!

Salon East does an amazing job, Jamie is wonderful and very acommodating, I have been a customer with them for a very long time and would not consider going any where else!I just recently had a pedicure with Sarah and she did a fantastic job! I will be back for her services as well!!looking forward to a new massage therapist (if that ever happens) :)

Both my daughter and I have had our nails done by Sarah P. She was very knowledgeable and did such a great job! I absolutely loved my nails. She has so many different designs and fun things to choose from, and is willing to try anything!And omgsh, my daughter was so excited and so happy with her nails. Sarah made it such a fun experience for her and knew exactly what to suggest she have done. Can’t thank you enough Sarah! We will definitely be back.

Had a wonderful mani-pedi and a very nice facial waxing. Both were done with efficiency and by awesome people. Highly recommend.Tori did another facial waxing that was completely painless & left my face so smooth. Thanks for the great, pampered care!

Salon East offers exceptional service to its customers! If I could I would give them 10 stars. I will never go anywhere else. Every staff member is phenomenal and makes you feel amazing! Once you walk through the door you are greeted by the staff, offered something to drink, and informed of when the staff is available for your service. While receiving your service the staff always makes sure you are comfortable. Salon East is always very clean and organized, I just love the way they decorated. The owner should be extremely proud of their business! I travel 40 minutes to the salon and its completely worth it! I recommend Salon East to everyone I meet! Customer for life :)

I came here and Kassidy turned my hair orange. I felt that she was not knowledgeable in what she was doing; she kept asking the other stylists for suggestions. I was not satisfied and had to pay another stylist at a different salon to fix it last minute.

Miranda cut my teenager’s hair today. He always hate his haircuts. She did a amazing job and he loves his cut! She is wonderful! Big thank you to her for her service ❤️ We definitely will be a returning customers

The best salon around. What I like about the people there is how professional and knowledgeable they are. They are always taking classes to stay on top of the latest trends and products. Had a facial yesterday with the new facial line from Aveda Amazing!!! Best one I have ever had done.Cant wait to have my hair cut colored and my nails done in two weeks!!!

First time visit. Great atmosphere and overall experience. I was promptly greeted and taken in at my scheduled appointment time. LeAnn was the stylist and provided some options and and suggestions for my haircut for an important upcoming event. She was very professional and provided a high quality cut. Also included was a wash and unexpected pampering. The price was very reasonable as well. Thumbs up!

Love Salon East! Kristin has done my hair for years. She is always thinking of something new and trendy for my hair. I would recommend her to anyone! I couldnt have been happier with my makeup for a wedding I was in this past summer that McKenna did. She is young and very talented! I also have gotten a spray tan from Merissa - I got so many compliments on how natural my tan looked. I would get a spray tan from her over a tanning bed any day!

I have yet to leave Salon East disappointed. From all the different types of services I have had done, from cut and color to bridal styling to eyelash extensions, I would rate each 5 stars! The eyelash services are VERY affordable and well worth it, they were put on with care and lasted a long time. McKenna did a great job of answering any questions I had. At the beautiful Salon East the staff knows you by name, and takes time to understand the services you need!

I absolutely love Salon East! They are an extremely friendly and professional salon. They are current with styles and colors and pursue continuing education on a regular basis. I am a big fan of their aveda products as well. I utilize the salon for multiple services: hair, nails, & occasional massage. I’ve always had a pleasant experience and always look forward to going back!

I look forward to every visit with Torie. She loves what she does and it shows. She has knowledge of the products and is always able to recommend something great.

Sara S our stylist at Salon East is amazing. At the start of the summer; Sara used my daughters ideas on how to color her hair and turned them into such a beautifully fun but tasteful work of art! I booked with Salon East for the first time yesterday for a cut and color and couldnt be happier. Miranda helped fix a botched and choppy CostCutters haircut and even without time to fully grow out its already looking smoother! They also made time for me to have my eyebrows shaped despite it being four days before Christmas. Huge shoutout to the girl who did my brows- they look perfect.

Salon East is a gem for the small town of Hartford. I drove by so many times before I realized it was a full service salon. First time there was for a manicure with Bridget, she turned my nails from frumpy to making me feel like a lady. The free hand designs she adds are very creative and the hand massage is a great bonus. Her welcoming smile and personality made me want to return. My next visit was for a massage with Kim. She made me feel comfortable from the minute I met her. She has a calming demener that melts away the stress. My full body massage left me feeling like I was on cloud nine. I now schedule a 30 minute massage every 3 eeeks. My 3rd service at Salon East was with Denise for a new hair style and highlights. Denise listened to me when I described the cut I was looking for and the results were spot on. My cut and highlight results made me realize that Salon East is my salon going forward they are friendly, professional and the gem of salons in Hartford.

I had my first visit to the salon yesterday. The front desk staff was friendly enough, but the service I received was not excellent. Im new to the area, and this was the closest Aveda salon I could find (I like to get the Aveda points, so Im a loyal customer). I made an appointment ahead of time, but they called twice on the day of my appointment to reschedule; One of which I could accommodate, the other I couldnt. When I scheduled I requested a cut, mani, and pedi, but was told there wasnt enough time for the pedi so I decided to proceed with the other 2 services. When I got there, my stylist thought I was doing all 3, and I hadnt budgeted enough time for all of them.My stylist wasnt very friendly but attempted to make conversation-- being new to the area I wanted to know the good places to go, but she bad-mouthed the area more than I expected. I requested a trim, and mentioned that I was liking how long my hair was getting and that I have never had it this long before. When we talked about amount to take off, we settled on 1, but I feel I ended up with much more taken off, which I wasnt pleased with. It seemed like she had a hard time evening both sides, which I think is why it ended up much shorter (about 2). My stylist was also my manicurist, and while she did a great job shaping my nails and asking my input on length, she didnt get the polish near my cuticles, so it looks like I am 5 days into a manicure instead of it being fresh. Needless to say, I wasnt happy with the personality and service I encounter at this location, especially for the price-- I wont be back.

Making some time for myself was long overdue and I had a wonderful first experience here! The environment was so relaxing and I loved my haircut. McKenna also took the time to show me some styling tips :) I will definitely return for another service .

I had my hair done by McKenna not too long ago and I was extremely satisfied. I walked into the salon not really knowing what I wanted. McKenna was able to suggest a few different styles/techniques. I gave her my full permission to do what she thought would be best. The result was amazing. Its very comforting to be able to go to a salon and know you are being taken care of professionals that will make you look your best! :)

My stylist was awesome. She listened and worked with me for the exact look I wanted. The actual salon was dated and dirty. I expected more from Aveda. A cleaning crew and fresh paint wouldnt hurt.

They cut my young childs hair for the first time and the stylist did a great job! Professional and warm with tons of knowledge! The front desk staff was great! Will be coming back!

Over priced. And also when I went in telling the hair stylist what I wanted I got the complete opposite and was disappointed how my hair turned out. I never once asked for my hair to be bleached. I wanted a honey blonde and she bleached it. Completely different. I would never come again unless I was completely desperate.

I went thought I made myself clear of the hair color & highlights I was expected. Came out 3 hours later & paid $250 & absolutely hate my hair. Looks nothing like I wanted it & cant even see the highlights I asked for more ribbon looking ones not the tiny ones I got. First & last time I will ever go there. I have never ever paid that much to come out of a place very disappointed. I rather go back to Pure Aveda Salon & Spa. Where they make sure Im happy & they dont over charge me.

Love Salon East. Everybody there is friendly and professional. McKenna keeps my locks lovely and expertly colored and Merissa works miracles on my skin with her wonderfully soothing facials.Their range of Aveda products and services are excellent. Bonus, theyre good for the environment too.

Let me start off first by saying that the massage therapist Kim is fantastic, if I could rate her and the salon separately, shed receive 5 stars.The reason for the one star rating is because I called the salon ahead of time to confirm that they accepted an online spa gift card called spawish. I happened to speak with the owner (unknowingly) and she assured me that this gift card would indeed be accepted as payment for my service.When my service concluded I took out my gift card to pay and the front desk was having difficulty processing it. They called the owner in and she informed me that they only accept the sister companies card, spafinder. I explained to her that I spoke with someone a few days prior and they assured me Id be able to use the card (not knowing she was the one I spoke with). Her response was yes, I know. That was me, but we dont take that one, I messed up.At this point any good business owner would admit they made a mistake and rectify the situation by allowing the customer to use the gift card. The business would absorb the cost and pay out the technician for the owners admitted mistake.Not the case. Instead she argued back and forth with me. Unwilling to offer any solution. She asked me so you just want me to just eat this cost, because then shes (the massage therapist) not getting paid. After going back and forth for 20 minutes she finally said fine, well use the gift cards, give me them. She took the gift cards, slammed them down on the counter and as she was walking away made a rude sarcastic comment along the lines of ugh its like trying to use a coupon at McDonalds from somewhere else.This is not the way a business owner should treat a customer or an employee for that matter. She is extremely rude and unprofessional and no matter how much I enjoyed seeing Kim for my massages, I can not continue to support a business that operates in this fashion.

My hair stylist McKenna asks how I want my color, cut & style each time. Im able to discuss any changes. So I have a new look!

Nice stylist, but did not cut any layers how I asked or showed. Also cost everywhere said shampoo, cut, style was $30 - she charged $32 and no explanation when asked why more... just that was cost of of s-c-s. Doubt Id go back.

They do a fantastic job! Robin is who I see, but they ask are great! Highly recommend. It is also convenient to book appointments either on the phone or in store.

To expensive to be this unhappy with my hair. I wanted layers and didnt get them. Just not happy with my cut. I guess Cost Cutters will be fixing my hair next week. Just so disappointed.

What I really like about salon east is that they do a great job cutting my hair, and if I should miss my appointment they will fit me in that day. Their prices are reasonable as well, I highly recommend salon east for a hair cut...

Day 5 with 4 days under socks and shoes. 1/2 a day in flip flops on vacation. For the $$, it should last months.Edit: Sand does not remove the entire polish after a walk on the beach if done well.
